SPEAKER_00 (00:01):
Good evening and
welcome to Faithful Rest Bedtime
Devotional.
Tonight we are going to bereading from the book of Psalm,
but before we do that, we aregoing to do our breathing
exercise so we can relax andcalm ourselves and get ready to
hear the word of God.
(00:23):
So what we're going to be doingis we are going to be taking
five deep breaths in, throughour nose and exhaling out
through the mouth.
So let's begin.
Inhale in through the nose andexhale out through the mouth.
(00:46):
And inhale in through the noseagain and exhale out through the
mouth.
And inhale in through the noseagain And this time, as you are
exhaling, I want you to justthink about all the things that
you had to do today and releasethose out as you exhale.
(01:10):
And continue to exhale until youhave no breath left.
And inhale in again through thenose.
UNKNOWN (01:22):
And
SPEAKER_00 (01:22):
Exhale out and just
become aware of your body
starting to relax and thecalmness that you're feeling and
continue to exhale all the wayout until you have no breath
left.
And last one, we're going toinhale in again through the
nose.
(01:43):
And exhale out through the mouthand just continue to be aware of
the calmness that is coming overyour body and allow it just to
flow through your body as youare emptying all your breath
out.
Okay, so tonight we are going tobe reading Psalm and it's the
(02:06):
chapter 139.
and we're going to be readingverse 1 and 14.
so it says you have searched melord and you know me i praise
you because i am fearfully andwonderfully made your works are
(02:27):
wonderful i know that full wellso the whole book of psalms
really offers a sacred space toreflect on how deeply known and
loved we are by God.
I really recommend you goingthrough and reading the entire
chapter because long before wewent through today, long before
(02:53):
this day was even going to startor happen, God knew every
thought we would think for thatday.
He knew every step we would takebefore we even knew what steps
we were going to take.
He knew all the emotions that wewould feel today.
He knew all the stress we wouldgo through today or all the joy
(03:15):
we would experience today.
He knew all of that.
And we have to remember and bereminded sometimes that nothing
about us is hidden from God.
So no matter what you'refeeling, if you're feeling
weary, if your thoughts are justwandering and scattered, if you
(03:38):
have unspoken prayers, if you'redealing with closeted sin, he
knows everything.
everything you're not going toget anything past him you're not
going to hide anything from himum he already knows and so yet
even though he knows everythingyou're going through his
(04:01):
response is not you knowjudgment and to con you know and
to just convict you and leaveyou his His response is to come
and bring you back closer tohim.
His response is to help you, isto be there for you, is to love
on you while yes, sometimesreprimanding you to put you back
(04:25):
on the right track.
We have to remember that thesame God who formed us in the
secret place has been with usevery moment.
Whether you chose to leave andwalk away from him or not, it
doesn't matter.
He still has always been withyou.
(04:47):
And there's a saying that I liketo say is that God never turns
his back on us.
It's us who turns our back onGod.
He remains the same no matterwhat day, what year.
He's always there.
It's us who tries to take lifeinto our own hands and think
that we can do it better withouthim.
(05:08):
But yet he's still there andhe's still waiting for you to
come back if that's what youchoose.
So I just like to share thatbecause sometimes we go through
life situations and we want totry to blame it on God, like,
well, he left us or where wasGod in this time?
He's always been there.
It's more like, where were youin that time?
(05:30):
Where was your mind in thattime?
So tonight, I just want you totake rest knowing that you're
not alone, you're not unseen, and you are never forgotten.
And he is 100% always going tostay focused on you.
He's a God who can be focused onevery single one of us at the
(05:52):
same time because he doesn'toperate like we do.
So just remember that you areintricately made for a purpose
and for a reason, and you areintentionally loved by a God who
is amazing.
And your value to God will neverchange based on how productive
(06:12):
your day was or how perfect youtry to be.
He simply just loves you becauseyou're His, and that's all there
is to it.
So tonight, I just want to leaveyou with a couple questions.
And you can journal these if youhave time, or you can answer
them in your head or out loud, however you feel comfortable
(06:35):
doing it.
But where did you feel God'spresence today, even in a small
way?
And how does knowing that God'sthoughts about you are precious
bring you peace?
And the last question is, whatburdens or insecurities can you
(06:56):
release to the one who knows youalready completely?
What are some things that youfeel you need to get off your
chest?
So if you have the time, journalthem down or pray them out and
allow God to really just be inthe presence with you.
Just a closing thought before weend our devotional tonight is
(07:21):
that, you know, you are fullyknown and deeply loved.
So when you go to bed tonight, just take rest in the hands of
the one who made you on purposewith purpose.
I hope you have an amazing sleeptonight.
And if you are watching me onsocial media, Instagram, TikTok,
(07:43):
Facebook, Thank you so much forPlease follow the podcast.
(08:03):
If you are watching on socialmedia, you might want to head
over to the podcast.
It is Speak Life with Carla witha K because I do release weekly
affirmations and also I do aRooted in Real with Carla
discussion once a month.
And I keep everything prettyshort.
(08:24):
The affirmations are around fiveminutes and I try to keep the
daily devotionals under 10minutes because I know
everything.
that people have really busylives.
And so if we can even get a, youknow, work God in, in those
times, you're still getting Godinside of you and speaking life
(08:44):
into your life and overyourself.
So I'm trying to do this for thepeople that, you know, don't
necessarily always have the timeto spend half an hour or an
hour, but can, you know, getthese devotionals morning and
evening and, you thing about itis it's all biblical.
(09:04):
So thank you so much forwatching and listening and I
will see you tomorrow evening.
