SPEAKER_00 (00:01):
Good evening and welcome to Faithful Rest Bedtime
Devotional.
Tonight we are going to bereading out of the book of 1
John.
But before we do that, we'regoing to do our breathing
exercise so we can relax, getcalm, and get prepared to hear

(00:21):
the Word of God.
So what we're going to be doingis we're going to be taking five
deep breaths.
We are going to inhale inthrough our nose and exhale out
through our mouth.
So let's begin.
Inhale in through the nose andexhale out through your mouth.

(00:44):
And inhale in through the noseagain and exhale out through the
mouth.
And inhale in through the noseagain.
And this time as you'reexhaling, I want you to focus on
everything that you were doingtoday and release it out as you

(01:06):
exhale and continue to exhaleuntil you have no breath left.
And we're going to inhale inagain through the nose.
And this time I just want you tobecome aware of the relaxing of
your body and the calmnessthat's coming over you as you

(01:27):
exhale.
And once again, I want you to goahead and exhale and empty out
all of the air.
And last breath, we're going tobreathe in again through the
nose, And exhale out through themouth and allow yourself to just

(01:49):
feel the calm that's coming overyou.
Okay, so tonight we're going tobe reading 1 John chapter 4,
verses 9 and 10.
And it says, this is how Godshowed his love among us.

(02:10):
He sent his one and only soninto the world that we might
live through him.
This is love.
Not that we loved God, but thathe loved us and sent his son as
an atoning sacrifice for oursins.

(02:33):
You know, God's love isn'tabstract or personal.
passive.
It's proven, it's demonstrated,and it's very deeply personal.
He didn't just say, you know, heloves us, but he showed us how
much he loves us through action.
So in the quiet of tonight, letthis truth really sink in and

(02:58):
settle in that before we couldever love Jesus back, he already
loved us And this isn't a lovethat you have to earn or chase.
It doesn't matter whether youfeel you deserve it.
It's a gift that is freely givento us by Jesus Christ.

(03:21):
You know, the cross is theultimate reminder of his love
because it's not based on, youknow, your worthiness, but it's
based on his faithfulness toexecute what God had required of
him, his father.
So tonight as you're going tobed, I want you to focus on a

(03:42):
couple of questions.
Now you can choose to just, youknow, marinate on them, think
about them.
You, if you feel the need, canjournal them, whatever fits what
you want to do.
But reflect on these areas.
In what areas of your life areyou still trying to earn love

(04:02):
instead of simply receivingGod's love?
How does knowing God loved youfirst shift the way you view
your relationship with him?
And what does living through himlook like for you right now?

(04:23):
What needs to be surrendered orwhat do you need to embrace?
So tonight, as you prepare tolay down and rest, let this be
the comfort that carries youinto sleep.
You are fully known, you'refully seen, and fully loved by a

(04:44):
God who gave everything to bringyou close.
His love is your coveringtonight and always.
So rest in it, breathe it in,And no, you are never alone.

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
