SPEAKER_00 (00:01):
Good evening and welcome to Faithful Rest Bedtime
Devotional.
Tonight, we are going to bereading out of the book of
Isaiah, but before we do that,we are going to do our breathing
exercise so that we can relaxand get calm and prepare
ourselves to hear the word ofGod.

(00:23):
So what we're going to be doingis we're going to be taking five
deep breaths.
We are going to be breathing inthrough the nose and then
exhaling out through the mouth.
So let's begin.
Inhale in through the nose andexhale out through your mouth.

(00:46):
And inhale in through the noseagain.
Exhale out through the mouth andinhale in through the nose
again.
And this time as you areexhaling, I want you to focus on
everything that you had to dotoday and just allow it to be

(01:09):
released as you exhale and youempty all of the air out of you.
And inhale in again through thenose.
And this time as you'rebreathing out and exhaling, I
just want you to become aware ofthe relaxation and the calmness

(01:33):
that you are feeling in yourbody and continue to exhale all
the way out until you have nobreath left.
And last time, inhale in throughthe nose, and we're going to
exhale out through the mouth andyou're going to do the same

(01:56):
thing just become aware of therelaxation you're feeling and
aware of the calmness and allowit to just travel down your body
okay so tonight we are going tobe reading isaiah chapter 49
verse 16.

(02:18):
And it says, behold, I haveengraved you on the palms of my
hands.
Your walls are continuallybefore me.
So tonight, as you are windingdown and getting ready for bed,
and you might be laying in bedand the silence of the room

(02:41):
settles in, and you know, it'salways easy for our thoughts to
wander.
A lot of times, especially whenwe're getting, you know, when
we've gotten in bed and we'relaying down and we've, you know,
become quiet because we're nolonger watching TV or on our
phones or we're no longer, youknow, running around and keeping

(03:03):
ourselves busy.
And a lot of times when thathappens, we lean towards
starting to worry.
Or maybe it's sometimesregretting things that we didn't
do or things that we did wrongtoday.
And sometimes it'll lean towardsthat question, you know, does
God still see me?

(03:24):
Is he still paying attention tome?
Is he still there for me?
Is he helping me?
Is he trying to speak to me?
And so Isaiah 49 verse 16 says, really gives us a clear answer
that not only does god see usbut he has engraved us on his
hands and that word isn't anaccidental word in the scripture

(03:48):
he didn't just you know write itin the sand or or write it on a
chalkboard write it in pencil heliterally engraved it which
means it's etched deep it'spermanent it's not going to fade
away um This verse was spoken toa people who felt forgotten and

(04:09):
abandoned.
And we all have had thosemoments and felt that too at
some point in our life.
And so I just want you to reallyrealize that when life is
wearing us down and Sometimesprayers seem to feel like
they're just echoing withoutanswers.
And you're wondering, you know, did God look away today?

(04:30):
Is he busy with somebody else?
Is there an emergency that hehad to take care of?
He didn't.
He can't.
His eyes are always on you.
The same that your walls arecontinually before me.
That means your life, yourneeds, your struggles, your
limits, your dreams, they arealways there.

(04:52):
in God's sight.
All the time, not half of thetime, not, you know, you have
alternating days to share withthe rest of us.
It's always.
God isn't indifferent towardsus.
He's, you know, not cold ordistant.
He is always aware and veryattentive and actively loving us

(05:12):
every single second, moment, minute, hour of every day.
So tonight, you know, Whateverburdens you're carrying,
whatever failures you'rethinking about, doubts, any
fear, anxiety, the weight of theunseen, things that you don't
know to come, all of that.

(05:35):
Just set it down in front ofGod's feet and just rest in this
one truth that you're not lostin a crowd of people and maybe
God will see you if you try toget his attention.
You're literally carved in thevery hands of God.
You are carved.
You are literally right here inhis hands.

(05:57):
So tonight as we go to sleep, Ijust want to say, You know,
Father God, thank you for thecomfort of your presence when
we're feeling forgotten andinvisible.
Remind each and every one of usthat we are engraved in the
palms of your hands and let thattruth quiet our heart and our
spirit tonight as we go tosleep.

(06:19):
You will always love us.
You will never turn your back onus.
And you will always be there towalk with us.
And it's in your name, JesusChrist, that we are loved.
So thank you so much and amen.
So tonight, I just have onereflection question that I want

(06:40):
you guys to just think about ifyou want to journal it, if you
want to use that to pray, whatever you feel comfortable
with.
But the question is, what wouldyour day look like if you
believed, and I mean you reallybelieved, that God's eyes were
on you all the time with loveand not judgment?

(07:04):
So I want you to...
let that truth hold you as yousleep tonight you are known you
are seen and you are his so havea wonderful night's sleep and i
