SPEAKER_00 (00:01):
Good evening and welcome to Faithful Rest Bedtime
Devotional.
Tonight we're going to bereading out of the book of
Psalm, but before we do that,we're going to do our breathing
exercises to help us get calmand relaxed and ready to hear
the word of God.

(00:22):
What we're going to be doing istaking five deep breaths.
We are going to inhale inthrough our nose, and exhale out
through our mouth.
So let's begin.
Inhale in through the nose andexhale out through your mouth.

(00:44):
And we're gonna inhale inthrough the nose again and
exhale out through your mouth.
And we're gonna inhale inthrough the nose again And this
time as you exhale, I would likeyou to just focus on all the

(01:05):
things that you had to do today, all of the stress of the day,
and release that out as you'reexhaling.
I want you to exhale until youhave no breath left.
So keep pushing it out and alloweverything to leave the body.
And now we're going to inhale inagain.

(01:28):
And this time as you exhale, Iwant you to focus on the
calmness that is coming overyour body and continue to
breathe out.
And we're going to inhale onelast time.
And we're going to exhale.

(01:49):
And just allow that calmnessjust to come over your body.
As you are exhaling out.
Okay.
So tonight we're going to bereading Psalm chapter 28, verse
seven.

(02:10):
And it reads, the Lord is mystrength and my shield.
My heart trusts in him and hehelps me.
My heart leaps for joy.
And with my song, I praise him.
As you settle in for this night,I want you to take a moment and

(02:32):
reflect on one truth.
You are not unprotected and youare not alone.
God has been your strengthtoday, whether you noticed it in
the moment or not.
He shielded you from things thatyou didn't even see and provided

(02:53):
just when you needed it themost.
He gave you the help you needed.
David's words in Psalm 28, verse7, are full of confidence and
joy.
And it's not because life waseasy, but because he had learned

(03:14):
to trust God deeply.
And that trust producedsomething so powerful in him.
It produced joy in the heart andpraise on the lips.
Even in difficulty, David foundrest knowing that God was both

(03:35):
his protection and hisprovision.
So as you close your eyestonight, I want you to release
all the anxieties, the fears, the worries into God's care.
The same God who helped youtoday will help you tomorrow.

(03:57):
Let his strength be your peace.
and his shield be your comfort.
God has really put it on myheart that my gift that he gave
me is the gift of teaching.
And so he really put it on myheart from here moving forward,
at the end of our dailydevotionals, I'm no longer going

(04:20):
to be praying for you He'sreally given me a purpose, and
my purpose is to instruct how toreally build an awesome
relationship with God.
And the Holy Spirit has moved methat if I'm doing it for you,
then you're not doing it foryourself.

(04:42):
So from here on out, I'm goingto start doing reflection
questions for you to kind ofjournal if you journal at night.
If you don't journal at night, maybe you should start.
There'll be a reflectionquestion at the end of these
devotionals, and then I willgive you prayer points that you
can use to open up that line ofcommunication with God.

(05:06):
The gift that he's given me, Itake it seriously, and I want
each and every person that Icome across to build an amazing
relationship with God.
It is so important to have that.
It is so important to learn howto rely on God and God alone and

(05:27):
move away from relying onothers.
So tonight, I want you to reallythink about where in your day to
day did you notice God'sstrength and protection in your
life?
I want you to think about that.

(05:48):
And like I said, if you journalat night, use that question as a
talking point to journal to God.
If you don't journal at night, maybe you want to start, or
maybe you want to start speakingit just to God out loud, or
maybe in your head.
Whichever works for you, there'sno right or wrong answer.

(06:10):
And then I want you to reallythink about praying to God about
thanking him for the specificways he helped and protected you
today.
Ask him to increase your trustin areas where you are still
struggling.
Praise him for being yourstrength and your shield even

(06:31):
while you're asleep because he'sstill watching over you.
And invite his peace to guardyour heart and your mind
tonight.
Thank you so much if you'rewatching on social media.
Please like, share, and comment.
And if you are watching on mynew podcast, Speak Life, or

(06:54):
excuse me, listening, thank youso much for tuning in.
I truly appreciate every singleperson who listens or watches my
devotionals, my affirmations.
It is truly an honor to do thesefor you.
I hope you have a beautifulnight's sleep tonight.

(07:14):
And I will be back tomorrowevening with another devotional.
