SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
Good evening and welcome to Faithful Rest Bedtime
Devotional.
Tonight we're going to bereading out of the book of
Zephaniah, but before we dothat, we are going to do our
breathing exercise so we canrelax and calm our body and mind
down so we can get ready to hearthe word of God.

(00:23):
So what we're going to be doingis taking five deep breaths.
We are going to inhale inthrough the nose and exhale out
through the mouth.
So let's begin.
Inhale in through the nose andexhale out through the mouth.

(00:43):
We're going to inhale in throughthe nose again and exhale out
through the mouth.
And this time we're going toinhale in through the nose
again.
And as you are exhaling, I wantyou to focus on everything that
you have been doing today, yourbusy schedule, all of the stress

(01:07):
that has been going onthroughout the day.
And I want you to release all ofthat out.
And as you are exhaling, I wantyou to exhale until you have no
breath left.
And now we're going to inhale inagain through the nose and

(01:28):
exhale out through the mouth.
And this time, focus on thecalming feeling as you are
breathing out that you'restarting to feel going through
your body and continue to exhaleuntil there is nothing left.
And one last time, we're goingto breathe in through the nose.

(01:49):
And exhale out through themouth.
And same thing, just focus onthe calmness and relaxation that
is coming over your body as youare releasing all of the air out
of your body.
Okay, so tonight we're going tobe reading the scripture in
Zephaniah 3, verse 17.

(02:12):
And it says, The Lord your Godis with you, the mighty warrior
who saves.
He will take great delight inyou.
In his love, he will no longerrebuke you, but will rejoice
over you with singing.
You know, as we settle intonight, let your heart be

(02:37):
quieted by this beautiful truththat God is near, and not just
in power, but in love, delight, and in song.
He's not a distant observer, buthe is a present father and a
mighty warrior who has alreadysecured your victory.

(02:58):
He's a tender shepherd whorejoices over you and he sees
you in your weakness and whenyou're weary.
You know, not because of whatyou've done or or because of who
you are, he just loves youunconditionally and he just

(03:21):
wants the best for you.
So, you know, when your thoughtsare running wild at night and
you're questioning your value, you know, who you are, let this
truth anchor you that Goddelights in you.
His love is not laced withconditions or, you know, shame,

(03:42):
it's pure.
It's protective and it's deeplypersonal for each and every one
of us.
So as you are laying downtonight, getting ready for bed,
you're not alone in the dark.
You're literally wrapped in hisembrace and he is the one who

(04:03):
sings over your soul.
so tonight i really want you tothink about these questions and
whether you want to answer themout loud in your head or journal
them down do whatever you feelcomfortable doing so what would
you change in your heart if youtruly believed god delights in

(04:25):
you right now just as you areand are there places in your
life where you've struggled tofeel worthy of God's nearness
and affection.
And the last thing to ponder ishow can you begin to receive his
love as rest rather thansomething to earn?

(04:53):
So tonight, Silence the lies ofunworthiness and rest in the
truth that you are loved, youare cherished, and surrounded by
the presence of your mightySavior.
Jesus is with you.
He is for you.

(05:13):
And as you sleep, he is singingover you with joy.
So breathe in and rest easy.
because you are held.

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
