Spinning Out (another music podcast) We talk to artists about their favorite albums and go on wild tangents. This week on the pod we're joined by Evan Plante of True Optimist. We talked about Robert Palmer's 1980 album, "Clues." We also chat about Island Records, The Power Station and trying to unlearn old habits musically. Evan plays drums in the band Quad, and previously played in the bands Black Market, Pleather, Light the Fuse and Run, Forcefedglass, Bastian and honestly so many others. What brought us here today was his debut solo album under the name True Optimist. The album, "Mental Health," explores post-disco, post-punk and other art-rock rhythms. A few songs are streaming now, but you can preorder it right now from Self Aware Records ahead of the August 2nd release. https://selfawarerecords.bandcamp.com/album/mental-health Subscribe to our Patreon here: www.patreon.com/spinningoutpod Follow us on social media -- twitter and instagram (@Spinningoutpod)
