Spinning Out (another music podcast) We talk to artists about their favorite albums and go on wild tangents. This is a podcast where we talk to guests about their favorite albums. This week on the pod we're joined by Doug Gillard of Guided By Voices. We talked about Siouxsie and the Banshees' 1980 album, "Kaleidoscope." We also chat about growing up in Ohio, Doug's first bands and our Charlotte connection. On top of playing in Guided by Voices, Doug has also spent time in Death of Samantha, Cobra Verde, Nada Surf and so many others. We chat a lot on the episode about one of his first bands with his friend Frasier Sims, Children's Crusade. He's currently working on releasing their discography on LP, in one place for the first time on November 15th on Splendid Research. It's totally remixed, remastered and is a total gem that complements this episode really well. So if you like early proto-goth, punk, or post-punk then keep an eye out for that in the coming months. Guided By Voices just released their newest album, "Strut of Kings," which you can pick up now. So check their site for more info and everything GBV related... https://www.guidedbyvoices.com Subscribe to our Patreon here: www.patreon.com/spinningoutpod Follow us on social media -- twitter and instagram (@Spinningoutpod)
