time. So come behind the velvetropes with me and see inside my

(00:24):

might even learn that you havesome gifts of your own so step
inside the spirit speakeasy.
Hey, beautiful soul, welcomeback, or welcome in for another

(00:47):
episode of spirit speakeasy. Inthis week's episode, we are
gonna deep dive into Akashicrecords. This is a topic that so
many of you have asked about.
It's work I love to do, and thatwas really healing in my own
journey. So in just a minute, weare going to dive all the way
into understanding Akashicrecords, what they are, what

(01:09):
they're not, what they can dofor you, where they are, lots of
frequently asked questions thatI'll go through with you. If you
are just here for that, feelfree to fast forward to when we
dive into that topic in just acouple minutes. For those of you
that are long time friends ofthe pod and part of my soul spa
community, long time listeners,or even if you just been here a

(01:31):
few weeks, I wanted to give alittle update on me, on my life,
just a couple couple littleminute talk here for us, those
of you that are watching on thevideo version, I'm recording
from my office this morning.
It's a little bit early in themorning. I'm doing this before
clients. I'm still working on mymorning coffee, if I'm honest,
and please forgive me if Ijumble my words a little bit. I

(01:53):
have some notes as always, thatI'll be working off of but some
of you have realized that for acouple weeks I did some best of
episodes. I have to tell you, itwas really outside of my comfort
zone, because I really amcommitted to releasing new
content, new talks, newconversations every week. So I'm
going to just give you a littleupdate on where I was, what

(02:15):
happened. It will be quick, andfeel free if you are like joy.
We don't I'm not interested.
It's okay to fast forward, nohard feelings, but so many of
you have reached out withsupport and questions that I
just didn't want anyone toworry. So in April, I got kind
of sick. I got COVID, for what Ithink is the first time. I also

(02:37):
have a bit of a condition thataffects my lungs, and so it
really put me down and out forlike, a couple weeks. It was
longer than I thought it wasgoing to be. Some of you that
are my clients and students knowI had to cancel or reschedule
lots of appointments. That'ssomething I don't love to do,
but I wouldn't want to makeanyone sick, first of all, and

(02:57):
second of all, I really feellike not only my clients here in
the physical but my clients onthe spirit side. It's my duty
and it's my heart's desire to bethe best and strongest of myself
when I do sessions for everyoneinvolved. And so for those
reasons, you guys didn't see mefor a couple weeks. I'm fine.
You probably will hear me stilla little froggy in this episode,

(03:19):
and maybe even in the nextcouple episodes, as I'm
recording them, I'm healthy. I'mtesting negative. However,
because of this adjacent, youknow, affected lung condition,
it's just seeming to take alittle bit longer, as a lot of
you know, with with theseillnesses, taking a little

(03:39):
longer to just clear all the wayout of my lungs. So just notes
that if you got the insider, know, if through these next
couple episodes, including thisone, if you hear me a little
froggy, that is why everythingis fine. So I just was coming
out of the fog of the COVID andbeing sick and high fevers and,

(04:00):
you know, all of the bells andwhistles, I'll just say it that
way. And I started to feelbetter right at about the 10 day
mark. And then a little afterthe two week mark, I was
supposed to go see my son, whois currently on the East Coast.
And I did. I was better. Thedoctors had said it's been well
over the 10 day period ofquarantine, which I, of course,

(04:23):
did, I think I quarantined formore than two weeks to just
because I needed to. So I waswell past that period. I did fly
back East. I did get to visithim, and it really took it out
of me, to be quite honest, Iflew out on a red eye from San
Diego to East Coast, which, ifI'm really honest, maybe I'm

(04:44):
getting a little old for ormaybe my system is just needs a
certain type of sleep and restthat that wasn't going to
provide. So that is whathappened there. That is why
there were a couple of Best ofepisodes. I hope you guys got to
check out the best of episodes.
Some of them, I. One of them wasfrom, like, very, very early on
in the podcast. And, like, Ithink we started late 2022 so
2023 and Travis, thatconversation is near and dear to

(05:08):
my heart. He's doing wonderfulthings, if you're following him.
So that is the update on me. I'mhealthy and well and really
behind. And just trying to getback in the flow of everything,
you know, writing the episodesand other things. I've got some
I've got some things on thehorizon that I'm really excited
about, that I've been workinghard on for a long time. Plus, I
am also sometimes doinginterviews on other people's

(05:31):
podcasts. So if you are on mysocials at joyful medium, on
Instagram is kind of my favoriteright now. But I'm also on
Facebook and tick tock. I try topost those other things that I
participate into. So if you everwant to see those, those are
there the best way to keep upwith everything I'm doing.
Because those of you that are onmy email list knew that I was
sick because I kind of said, like, Hey, I'm under the

(05:52):
weather, guys. This is what'shappening. So if you feel like,
hey, I want to know a little bitmore about what's going on. I
want to be first to get theupdates. Make sure you're on my
mailing list. You can get onthere at joyful medium.com there
is on the home page that signmagnet mini course, which you
can just put your name in there.
You'll get access to that freecourse, and you will get on my
email list for the freecommunity healings and all the

(06:14):
things that we do. You can alsoemail admin at joyful medium.com
if you want to be added to thelist, and you can't figure out
how, and I can get you on theremyself. So those are the
updates. That is what ishappening with me, lots of
busyness, lots of wonderfulthings happening, feeling better
and feeling much more likemyself. I am still maybe a

(06:36):
little lingering, tired likeexhausted, in ways that I'm kind
of over, if I'm honest, but I'mready for summer, and I hope
that you are too. If you are oneof our listeners in the southern
hemisphere, and you are inAustralia, New Zealand, I know
you guys are really tipping intothe thick of winter, so I'll try
not to summer all over you toomuch. So that is what is up with

(06:59):
me. Now you are also in theknow, everything is fine. I'm
plugging along, and I'm excitedto do this Akashic records.
Episode, I've actually beenworking on this for quite a
while. And, you know, sometimesyou hear me say, Oh, if you
there's a topic you want to hearabout, or, you know, send your
questions for the for the Ask amedium anything. Episode,
sometimes, like is the case withthe Akashic records, I'll notice

(07:22):
just several questions comingabout the same topic, and those
I sort of save in one bucket orone folder so that I could make
a whole episode on one topic.
That is why we are having theAkashic Records section today.
So really, I like to think ofthe Akashic records as part
scribe, part soul library, partsacred album of our life, of all

(07:42):
of our lives, right? So that'sessentially what the Akashic
records are. They're oftendescribed as like an energetic
archive, a vibrational librarythat contains the soul level
history of every being, everythought, every word, every
action, every intention, acrosstime, space, dimension and

(08:04):
reality. So imagine it like acloud of the universe, right, a
spiritual database and acomplete memory bank of your
eternal soul. I know we talkabout this a lot here, but we
are souls having a humanexperience, our soul exists
before our physical body andcontinues on after our physical
body, as many of you know atthis point, that is what

(08:27):
evidential mediumship aims toprove, is that our soul
continues on, and that is whyour loved ones are able to
communicate. Well, the Akashicrecords is just what it sounds
like a record house or alibrary, a database, a cloud
memory bank of all of your lifein this lifetime, in past lives,
present circumstances, futurepossibilities. They're all

(08:49):
stored there, tended to and canbe accessed for insight, for
healing, for growth. So that'sin a nutshell what the Akashic
library is, or the Akashicrecords, you'll hear them called
different things, but usuallythe word Akashic or Akasha are,
is in there somewhere. Where isthis mystical soul library

(09:10):
located? Okay, often you'll hearthe question like, is, is the
Akashic records? Like, are theAkashic
Records figurative or literal? Ithink they're literal. I just
think sometimes our humanunderstanding, you know,
especially maybe like 2030,4050, years ago, was very on 3d
reality, focused on tangible 3dreality. And now that we, you

(09:33):
know, each of us, pretty much, Iwould say most of us, right, are
using some version of like cloudstorage, or, I think we all joke
about the cloud, and we havephotos in the cloud, and we
don't know where the cloud is orhow to access it, so at least it
does lend itself to starting toexpand our mind about, okay,
well, now we're starting tounderstand how things can be

(09:54):
stored, non physically, data, information, right? In many
traditions, the Kaushik. Recordsare said to exist in a non
physical dimension and areaccessed through meditation or
altered state of consciousness.
We're going to talk more abouthow to access them later on.
Don't you worry, they hold likethe blueprint of your soul's
journey. They offer guidance, not just about who you've been,

(10:16):
but about what your soul wantsto express in this lifetime and
who you're becoming. So imaginewalking into a vast sacred
library, and you can visualizeor imagine your personal Akashic
library however you want, buteach lifetime of your soul has,
for example, its own section, maybe it's its own wing in your

(10:38):
library. Maybe it's its ownaisle, its own series of books,
and each chapter, each linethat's written, is capturing a
part of your expression, a partof that unique lifetime, a
lesson, a relationship, amisunderstanding, perhaps a
turning point. And when you opento a proverbial page in a book

(10:58):
in your library, you don't justread about it, you feel it. You
will often remember who youwere, or remember elements of
that lifetime or thatexperience, even if it's in this
lifetime. And sometimes we canget more aligned or more clear
with who we are becoming, or whowe want to become, who we desire

(11:21):
to become, right? But for me,excuse me, I'm getting a little
froggy, like I said, for me, Idon't think of it as a physical
place, even though, when I visitthere in meditation, in more of
like psychic experience, I dovisualize it for myself as a
place, but technically, it's nota place, right? Because it's not

(11:44):
tangible in a way that we thinkof on our earth plane, in Lydia
reality. It's not like we eachhave a private library that we
can physically go to here, butyou can energetically go there
with your non physical like yourastral body, your psychic
sensing. So I really think of itas not necessarily a physical
place, but almost like thecloud. To be honest. I think you

(12:08):
guys know I don't fullyunderstand the cloud either.
Think of the Akashic recordslike, almost like a cosmic like
Google Drive, always updating, constantly saving, and deeply
personalized, except instead oflike spreadsheets and PDFs, it
holds your soul, contracts, yourkarmic patterns, lessons you've
learned in the past, lessonsyou're working on, agreements,

(12:30):
the energetic imprint of everychoice you've ever made and
every path you could have taken, every path you did take, and
perhaps even some wisdom for thefuture. So I hope that helps you
understand kind of where theyare, so to speak, and if they're
real or symbolic. The next, likefrequently asked question about

(12:53):
Akashic records is, doeseveryone have Akashic records?
For me, the answer is yes. Wehave a soul, and we have data
about what has happened. Youknow, our lived experience, our
physical experience, our psychicexperiences, all those dreams
that we forgot about or nevercould remember. We all have so
much to us. Where does that go?

(13:15):
Does it just disappear? No. Oursoul has that information. Our
Akashic records have thatinformation. Every one has
Akashic records as far as Iunderstand it, who or what is
your Akashic Records guide andhow do they help? Did you know
that you have an Akashic Recordsguide? Maybe? Let's start there.
So I know that we've talked onother episodes. If you missed

(13:38):
that episode about spiritguides, it wasn't long ago. It
was just a handful of episodesago. I highly encourage you to
go back and really understandspirit guides, your spirit team,
how all of that works. YourAkashic record keeper is often
what they're called, your recordkeeper, or your librarian, as
I've sometimes heard it calledyour Akashic guide. There's lots
of as you guys know, there'slots of nuance with the

(13:59):
language, and Different peopleuse different words, but your
Akashic record keeper or recordguide is on your team of guides
and inspires. For me, the myAkashic Record guide is perhaps
less interactive with me, myhuman personality in a direct
way, but I've had many times ofgoing to visit my Akashic

(14:21):
records, particularly in myearly few years of development,
I really learned heavily aboutAkashic records. And so when I
go energetically to visit myAkashic Record house, when I
move my awareness there, andwhen I have something I'm there
to learn, to experience, to growfrom whatever it is I happen to
need at that time. That is whenI interface or engage with my

(14:43):
Akashic record keeper, andtypically my guide. My record
guide is the one that is, I'mgonna just be really honest,
even though it's probably notgonna make sense to everyone,
the way I do it is, I kind of gointo, like I said, I imagine a
library. I kind of know what itlooks like in my mind. Mind, and
I go and sit at this one table, and my guide brings me what I

(15:04):
need and unfolds it in front ofme. And then I can move into an
experience about that pastlifetime that sometimes it's
like, if your struggling ismaybe not the right word, but if
you know you're working on onething, I'm going to give you a
couple of specific examples injust a minute. But like, if
there's just a theme orsomething you've been kind of
wrestling with, or somethingyou're trying to grow through,

(15:27):
perhaps, and often, we have seenthis theme either before in this
lifetime or other lifetimes, andthere's more information we
could perhaps know about it. Wecould have some healing around
it. So those are the types ofthings that I would go to my
Akashic Record house for. We'regoing to really dive into that
in just a second. But I go, Ikind of enter and I there's this

(15:49):
kind of table thing that I sitat, and then my guide brings me
the different books and unfoldsthem. And then I go into an
experience and have anexperience. So your Kaushik
record guide is really the onethat is constantly updating your
cloud, making sure thateverything is ordered, that
everything is contained for you.
It's just like any guide, they're there to support you and

(16:11):
help you, on behalf of you, onbehalf of your soul. Because
when we all return to nonphysical, of course, we're going
to want to understand thislifetime and how it relates to
other lifetimes, and we get adifferent overview, right,
almost like if you think aboutif you've ever watched, whether
it's Star Wars for some of us,or whether it's Harry Potter,

(16:32):
whatever it is you like, ifyou've ever watched a long
series of movies that takesplace over many, many years. You
can think of it like, of course, you'd want to see and experience
and understand those very deeplessons and connections in your
life. It's all in your recordhouse and your record keeper
guide is part of thedocumentation, the updating as

(16:55):
we talk about this next part,I'm going to talk a little bit
more about the guide, because Iwant to talk to you about, like,
what is housed in your records.
Now we talked some about, yes,of course, the memories of your
life, memories of past lives, but also your thoughts, your
actions. You know, sometimes wecould re watch a situation,

(17:17):
right? Maybe you had anargument, a disagreement, with
someone in your life, at somepoint in your life, and if this
version of you now today got tosee a movie of that interaction,
that disagreement, you wouldsure you would see what was
happening, you would hear thewords, but you might not
remember what actually you werethinking in that moment. You

(17:37):
might not remember the feelingsright. Maybe in the movie of it,
you look angry, you lookfrustrated, you're arguing, but
maybe the truth of how you feltin that moment is deeply hurt or
deeply confused or maybemotivated, maybe you were
silently making some decisions.
All of that is in your records.
So it's not just what's seen,it's what's unseen. It's not

(18:00):
just what's said, it's what'sunsaid, what's thought, What's
felt, potentials andpossibilities, all of the
lessons that you learned in yourlifetime. Some of you know this
a little bit of a sticking pointfor me. I don't necessarily
sometimes the way I hear peopletalk about lessons and lessons
we learn in our life sounds likea punishment, kind of old

(18:20):
version of like a karmicunderstanding. I think we just
all learn lessons all the time.
I think we're here to learn Ithink it's one of the things we
do here. I think some of thelessons, perhaps we knew were
going to be a part of ourjourney. Others, maybe we didn't
foresee. So lessons isdefinitely in the Akashic
records, soul contracts. So forexample, the parents that we

(18:41):
chose to come in with some ofthe things that we might have
chosen to experience. You mayhave heard me joke about this
before that meeting, that thisis, again, from that spirit
guide episode, the meeting thatwe have before we come into this
incarnation where we're choosingour guides, and we're choosing
some of the elements, and we'reunderstanding the blueprint of
our soul in this lifetime. Ialso think that we make some

(19:03):
contracts and some agreements, right? Perhaps I agree to show
up in your life at some point, for some reason, right? So all
of those things, contracts, agreements, things we don't
agree to. All of that is in ourAkashic records and the way I
was initially trained, we canwork on those things. We can
update our contracts. We cancomplete agreements, we can kind

(19:24):
of pass go and collect our 200points, or whatever it is. So
all of that is also included inthe record house, and your guide
manages all of that. Sometimes Ithink of them as like part
librarian, part attorney, butlike the best, the best and
wisest of knowing all of yourinformation at a moment's

(19:46):
notice. Now, with the reallyrevolution of AI being so
accessible to so many of us,it's kind of helping me rethink
some of this, or reimagine howmaybe in some ways, I think.
Very literal about these things, just in my own mind, or the way
I imagine them, or the way Ienvision them, but now that we
understand, like what AI can doand how you can ask AI to look

(20:09):
up something for you, and it canbring you all so much
information we can understandjust, I think, a sliver of the
potential of our Akashic guidesthat way. And I believe that all
of our potentials andpossibilities are also housed in
some way, meaning we have thequalities that we have, we have
the capabilities that we have, some of them we might fully

(20:32):
express in this lifetime. Someof them we might not. Maybe
there's not enough time toexpress all the things that we
could with our soul's ability, and I think the potentials of
the directions that we could go,I'm sure that you have gifts and
talents right now that you justdon't have time to use. I love,
for example, painting andcrafting and refinishing

(20:53):
furniture. Sometimes I have timeto do it, and sometimes I don't.
But perhaps if I made somedifferent choices, not better or
worse, but just different. MaybeI would be doing that as my
primary work, rather thanmediumship and spiritual
counseling and coaching. So Ithink also the potentials of the
other options, of things wecould have done, or
possibilities or choices wecould have made. I think all of

(21:14):
that is contained there too, because I definitely would want
to know that, and I can't seewhy, you know, why all of that
wouldn't be documented. So thoseare some of the things housed in
our Akashic records. I reallyfeel like the Akashic records
are helpful, rather than thisplace we have to visit or
information we have to have.

(21:36):
There are ways that the Akashicrecords can help us, which we're
going to talk about now, excuseme again, and we're also going
to talk about, what are thebenefits of accessing the
Akashic records. But first, Ijust want to float this out
there to you. Sometimes peopleget very black and white, even
with these psychic or energetictools, right? Do you have to

(21:59):
visit your Akashic records? No,do you have to know about them?
No, do you have to worry aboutthem? No, Will anything happen
if you never, ever even dabbleor are curious to learn? No,
these things are going on behindthe scenes on our behalf, for
our highest and greatest good.
It's just another tool. So justlike the Enneagram is a tool to

(22:21):
understand more about ourpersonality and our expression,
just how you know, understandingour intuition is a tool that we
can use to really help us inthis lifetime, the Akashic
records is just another tool.
Just like some people want towork with their spirit guides
and some people don't, it's verysimilar to that. It's just an

(22:41):
option. It's not something youhave to choose to do. Nothing
bad will happen if you don't. SoI like to throw that out there,
just you guys know, I sometimeshave been perhaps a little bit
of an overachiever my lifetime,or someone that feels like, oh
my gosh, I have to do all thethings. So just for those of you
that might feel stressed out,you don't you don't have to do
it if it doesn't fit for you. Ifit doesn't fit for you right

(23:04):
now, you could do it 30 yearsfrom now if you felt like it. So
how can the Akashic Records helpyou and and what might be some
of the benefits if you chose toaccess your records? Healing, I
think, is really the main, foundational, like, most
important piece, because therecords are not going to tell us
the future, which we're going totalk about in just a second. But

(23:25):
really, any time, we'rereceiving psychic information,
information about our own soul, information about even maybe
things that we've grown throughalready in however much life
we've had in this lifetime.
We've been through things we'veseen things we've grown through
things. We've had hard things,we've had wonderful things,
we've had things that we'vesurmounted, right? And I think
it can all be part of ourhealing, just another tool for

(23:48):
healing. It can be part of ourgrowth to help understand, okay,
this pattern that I've beenexperiencing. I now can better
understand I now can see how itshows up. I now can see that I
have a different choiceavailable to me here, just for
an example. I really think itcan also be used as a tool to
really help us understandourselves better, ourselves as a

(24:09):
soul, ourselves as a part ofthis human community, right? And
perhaps it can help usunderstand other people in our
lives a little bit more. Andpart of this healing that I
really believe the Akashicrecords is for is our own
empowerment in this lifetime.
It's not to, you know, for me,this intertwines a little bit

(24:33):
with the past life work. And Iknow sometimes in past life
work, one of the criticisms islike, well, everybody was an
Egyptian pharaoh or queeneverybody was, you know what I
mean? How could everybodypossibly be? I don't know these
famous figures, right? But it'snot really like that. It's more
about understanding thingsyou've grown through, things

(24:54):
that are potential for you andyour value intrinsically as a
soul in this human. Andexperience and letting that
empower you, letting the truthof who you are empower you. It's
not really about somehow feelingbetter because of something that
happened or didn't happen in apast life, but using that
information to help strengthenyou. Help you have clarity. Help

(25:17):
you have understanding. Helpempower you to make choices that
you want to make for things youwant to experience in this
lifetime. Can the AkashicRecords help you understand your
life's purpose in this lifetime?
Yes, but it's probably not whatyou think. So I want to dive
into this a little bit early inmy work. One of the things I was
hoping to understand from theAkashic records, is this idea of

(25:40):
like, what's my purpose? I wantto fulfill my purpose. I had
been starting in Reiki training.
As many of you know, I wasalready working in wellness. I
was technically already aholistic health practitioner by
licensure. I had many years ofstudy of kinesiology and the
physical body and massagetherapy and movement and all of

(26:01):
that. And was was now combiningit with understanding
energetics, understanding myintuition, my subtle sensing
gifts, and so Akasha recordsjust came up as part of what my
initial mentor was teaching me,and I'm so grateful for it. But
one of the things I kind ofsecretly wanted to know was
like, What's my life purposehere? It didn't feel like it was

(26:21):
going to be massage therapyforever. The psychic work just
kind of felt far away from me,almost like, well, I don't
really think that's what I'mgoing to be doing. It feels
different than that to me. Mymentor was telling me, you know,
you're meant to be a teacher insome capacity. I have been told
that a lot over the course of mylife, and didn't love it any of
the times I heard it, it didn'tmake any sense to me. I couldn't

(26:42):
imagine standing in front of aclassroom teaching, but again, I
was thinking in two of too muchof a traditional sense, and I
really also wanted to understandsome of the patterns I had in in
the initial part of my training.
I'd already been through severalreally hard relationships in my
life, and it seemed like I keptattracting or drawing or
agreeing to be in relationshipswith, like, not good people, and

(27:05):
it wasn't my intention where Iwould, I would see the best of
them when I started to engage inrelationship, and then
ultimately, a lot of the time, something would happen where I
would become submissive. Thatperson would become
overpowering of me, and it wasjust a strange dynamic. It was
in partnerships, it was infriendships, it was in work

(27:28):
relationships. It wasn't witheverybody, but enough people
that it was noticeable to me. Soone of the things my initial
mentor helped me do was go intothe Akashic records. Many times
she taught me how to do it. Sheguided me in experiences doing
it. And one of the most profoundthings that I learned, there's a
there's a couple, I'm going totry to give you the Cliff Notes

(27:50):
version, because it probablytake me a whole extra hour of
this episode to really expand onthese experiences. One of the
things I learned was that I hadactually abused power in a
previous lifetime, and so I hadmade unconscious to my my like
literal mind. I'd madeagreements to not let myself be

(28:10):
as powerful, to be moresubmissive, to draw
relationships that would teachme how to use my power in a way
that was healthy in a way thatwas not abusive to myself or
others. So that was one of theit's not really a carryover
lesson. I don't know if Ibelieve in it that way, but it's
one of the things my soul wastrying to learn. It's one of the

(28:32):
agreements that I made. So I wasable to, with the help of my
mentor, go in and sort of changesome of those agreements and
understand that I learned someof these lessons. And I don't
want to learn this in thisstage. This in the same way
anymore. And I'm going to chooseintentionally through not just
updating the records in theAkashic Record house, but
through learning about myself,my choices, my behavior in the

(28:53):
real 3d world as well. We'reresponsible for choices we make
here. None of this is a magicwand. You guys hear me say that
a lot. So what I learned aboutmy purpose in this lifetime that
I wanted to know was that mypurpose really was to be in
community with others, and a lotof us, as you know, sometimes
introverts that can kind of puton the extrovert face when we

(29:16):
need to. I don't love being incommunity, and I have learned in
this lifetime that a lot oftimes I tend to be like elected
team captain of the project whenI don't necessarily want to be.
So I had to learn how to nottake it all on my own, how to
ask for help from other people, how to allow other people in

(29:36):
enough to help me in in waysthat were safe and trustable and
not just with maybe like thewrong people or people who
wanted to take advantage all ofthis, I really was able to
unfold through profoundexperiences in the Akashic
records, and that's why I'msaying maybe some of you are
rolling your eyes, saying, Joe,you could have totally learned
this through a different type oftherapy or through reading. I

(29:59):
tried all. That, and it justwasn't getting me to where I
needed. So this tool at thattime really served me, and
that's the best way I think, touse it, is different tools for
different times, reasons, seasons, etc. But one of the
other things I came tounderstand was that I was have a
soul, having a human experience, was that I had permission to

(30:21):
express these other elements ofmyself was that I didn't have to
worry about making everything Istudied or everything I
undertook a career, that itwasn't a waste of time to
explore these expressions of mysoul, that the relationships in
my life that I was choosing andnot choosing were part of the
most important thing my soulwanted to experience in this

(30:44):
lifetime. So that's why I'msaying, yes, the Akashic records
can help us understand our lifepurpose. But it's probably not
what you think an added layer tothis that I've come to know,
largely through mediumship andmy training there, is that we
have these core qualities thatwe come in with in this
lifetime, right? The corequalities of your soul. Maybe

(31:04):
you're a helper, maybe you're ahumanitarian, maybe you're a
nurturer. And there's usuallyseveral qualities for each of
us, as long as our soul us,right, our soul living in us as
us, as long as we're expressingthose qualities in some area of
our life, it doesn't even haveto be your primary job. It could
be a hobby, it could bevolunteer, it could be just a

(31:25):
part of you. As long as we'reexpressing those qualities, our
soul will be satisfied, andthat's our purpose, right? It's
why sometimes you'll see someonethat is like an engineer in
their career, but they reallylove like bird watching or
communing with nature ororganizing hiking groups, for
example, that's probably one ofthe truer callings of their

(31:47):
soul, and they just need toexpress it in some area, but
often that that left brainengineering mind is part of that
humanitarian effort that theyneed to make. It's just
expressed through theirfaculties in a way that is
unique and genuine to them, maybe through mathematics for
some people, maybe throughvolunteering for humanitarian

(32:07):
aid with others. So it doesn'tnecessarily like while yes, we
want to choose things thatresonate with us, that call to
us, that we feel like we want toexplore, it doesn't have to be
the same for everybody, and yoursoul might be equally as
satisfied being a Do you guyshave Habitat for Humanity? Do
you know what that is like, where they go and build houses
in safe water, clean water forother people? You might be

(32:31):
equally satisfied doing that asyou would be, you know, being a
commercial builder of houses, who does some charity work,
helping families get into, youknow, get out of homelessness or
unhousedness or whatever theword is right now. You know,
both of those things, eventhough they're vastly different,
can fulfill what our soul wantsto experience and express in

(32:53):
this lifetime. I hope that makessense. This kind of leads right
into my next question, does theAkashic Record house, or your
Akashic Records hold yourfuture? I would say yes, in that
the Akashic records are alsoconnected to like a divine
wisdom and intelligence. So theAkashic Records has an

(33:17):
understanding of all of thepotentials and possibilities for
you in this lifetime, theexponential potentials, however,
the records and the recordguide, they do not choose for
you which of these potentialsyou go towards in this lifetime.
So I often think of it as likein any situation as I'm
recording this, we have Mother'sDay weekend coming up, and

(33:40):
Father's Day weekend just aroundthe corner as as we move towards
these like special days, right?
There's an exponential amount ofpotentials of what could happen
on any given weekend, right? TheAkashic Record knows all of the
potentials. Knows all of thepotentials of your soul, the
interactions, the paths youcould cross, the forks you could

(34:02):
choose in the road, the youknow, all the different options
for for how that day could go,that exponential potential, but
it doesn't choose for you, whichof those options, which of those
paths, which way you drive towork today, what you choose to
have for lunch? Do you order in?
Do you go to the place and maybeencounter this person who can
help you get to this next thingthat you want to do. The Akashic

(34:25):
Records doesn't control any ofthat or manipulate any of that.
It just documents it. So does itknow your future? Yes, in the
way that it's connected todivine intelligence and knows
all of the exponentialpotentials for your future, but
no, in that it hasn't beenchosen for you yet. So as you
make choices, additional pathsunfold, additional potentials

(34:46):
open up, exponentialopportunities are available. And
then, as we choose, our choicesare documented. Yes, the other
potentials are documented. Butwe can only choose often, like
one thing at. We can only be oneplace at one time most of the
time, right? So I hope thatmakes sense of like, how kind of
it does hold the future, butalso not exactly in a way that

(35:09):
the Akashic records isdefinitely not going to give you
the future or tell you yourfuture, because it's not decided
for you yet. We are deciding ourfuture through the choices,
actions, inactions that we makeday to day right now in our
lifetime. This is an interestingquestion. It's not totally
uncommon, believe it or not, isit safe to access the Akashic

(35:29):
records? It is safe. They belongto you. It's all about you. It's
your soul's information. It'stotally safe. You can't do any
harm. You can't break anything,and
except for learning and growingand healing and expressing
ourselves, you really can'tnecessarily, quote, unquote,
change anything. I mean, thingsare changing and updating as we

(35:50):
make choices. Even as you'relistening to this and getting
this information, your recordsare updating about it. So
there's nothing harmful we cando in there. And again, you
don't need to do it. Can anyoneaccess the Akashic records? Or
do you need special abilities? Ibelieve anyone can access the
records. I believe we all havethe ability to access the

(36:12):
records, just like we all havethe ability to use our
intuition. So I don't thinksomeone needs special abilities
necessarily, like other thanthose abilities that we all
naturally have, whether wechoose to develop them or not.
But I do believe that it helpsto, at least initially, either
work with or train with someonethat understands how to use the

(36:34):
records, someone that's not fearbased. And we're also going to
talk right now about how aresome of the ways you could
access the records, if you areso inclined. I was trained to do
it, and typically do it througha meditative experience or a
kind of, like a mind journey.
Sometimes they're called butlike in a more meditative state,
that is how I teach it. That ishow I lead clients through it. I

(36:56):
don't do this with everyone.
Some people, I'll work inprivate coaching over, like a
series of sessions. Some of mystudents have done this work
with me. I don't teach it at,like, a very beginner level. And
the reason why is because I feellike two things. Sometimes our
human nature is to want to putthe power with things outside of

(37:18):
ourself, right? And truly, wehave our own answers? So I like
people to have some ability tolike work with or understand
their own intuition, their ownenergy, before they tip into
this work. It's just my just theway. I think it's works better
for people. And I also believeit's very helpful for someone to
be able to hold meditation for acertain degree, just to really

(37:40):
be able to spend time having aprofound experience. A mentor
can teach you this or walk youthrough it, or give you tools
and steps and instructions forhow to practice it, just like
all of this work, it's apractice. It's not a light
switch that's like one and done.
It's a practice. It's verysubtle. The experiences are very
subtle. Sometimes, for somepeople, they continue to unfold
over several days and weeks, meaning, like you continue to

(38:02):
get more understanding, moreknowledge, continues to drop in
more of the like, dotconnecting. Of like, oh, yeah, I
didn't realize I've been doingthat since I was a kid. Or like,
oh, that's happened so manytimes I didn't even connect
those dots. So that kind ofthing can happen for people,
some people like to access therecords with someone who's

(38:24):
experienced in more of like ahypnotherapy or a hypnosis
that's also experienced with theAkashic records. We've had a
couple of hypnotherapists ortrained expert hypnotists on our
pod before, so look for thoseepisodes. There are teachers who
only work with the Akashicrecords and really specialize in
training people in that we'vehad. Josephine Hardman is great

(38:44):
for that, and her podcast that'sdeeper in some of the old
episodes. You can check thatout. You can also really just
start practicing inviting thatAkashic Record guide in if you
revisit that guide episode, ifyou don't remember the exercise
I gave there. It's very similar, just starting to build a
relationship with that AkashicRecord guide. And I like to go

(39:06):
in with a very open hearted, open ended, kind of like, what
can I know, or what informationcan I have? Rather than direct
questions. I find directquestions are often, like,
incredibly limiting, like, whatam I supposed to do? It's like,
well, you're not necessarilysupposed to do anything. Like,
there's lots of things that youcould enjoy and are supposed to

(39:28):
do, right? So I really find justwanting to really absorb and
understand information. Or, whatcan I know about this pattern?
I've known some people who areworking with some layer of like,
an addiction or a habit theycan't seem to break, and they'll
go in with the question or theopen hearted intention of, like,

(39:49):
what else can I know about this?
What else can I know about thisaddiction or this struggle to
make healthy choices for me? Sosee how that's like, a little
bit more open and. Did. That'sthat's how I typically like to
approach getting informationfrom the records. But anyone can
have the ability to do it. Itdoes help if you've got some
experience with meditation orunderstanding a little bit of

(40:13):
how your senses work, yoursubtle senses, your ability to
visualize, your ability to feel, your ability to let knowing or
just information kind of drop inor meander in, I guess,
depending on how your systemworks. So I really like to do
this over a series of coachingsessions. If I'm working one on

(40:33):
one with someone or with myadvanced level students over a
series of sessions, they'll dothis with me, just because it
can be so easy to second guess.
It can be so easy to doubt, butthere are lots of ways to access
your Akashic records. Somepeople like to do it through
practicing automatic writingafter building a relationship
with that Akashic Record guideand then inviting that guide in
kind of floating their intentionor general, what could I know

(40:56):
and then doing some automaticwriting and just seeing what
comes out about themselves, about about whatever the subject
or topic is that they'rewondering about in that moment.
So there's lots of ways toaccess the Akashic records. And
the Akashic Records knows aboutyou all the time, even if you
feel like it's far away, it'snot, because it's constantly

(41:17):
updating with every thought, movement, intention, idea, path
that crosses, etc, so anyone canaccess the Akashic records. I do
occasionally do it with peoplewho, like I said, in private
coaching sessions, or students.
There are other practitionersthat can either guide you in an
Akashic Record journey in theway I do it so you can have an

(41:39):
experience, or some people justdo readings. There are
practitioners out there. It'snot the way I work, but there
are practitioners out there thatwill do a reading for you and
tell you about your Akashicrecords. I tend to like people
to have a little bit more oftheir own experience, just
because that was so profound forme. But there's just like
everything. There's lots ofdifferent ways to do it. You
could consider someone who hasexperience with the Akashic

(42:01):
Records that's a hypnotherapistor a hypnotist, you can work in
meditation space. There are lotsof guided meditations and
experiences to take youenergetically towards the
Akashic records and let you havean experience. There are people
that do readings about it. Sothere's lots of ways to access
it. It is available to everyone.
There is a lot of healing andgrowth and deeper understanding

(42:22):
we can have about ourselves. Butit doesn't take away our need to
make choices. It doesn't give usall the answers so that like,
almost like someone's giving youcheat codes on a test. It's not
like that. It's not a test likethat. In this lifetime, it's
about us having experiences andgrowing and expanding and being

(42:42):
in community. So those thingsare always going to be a part of
what we're doing. And there isno magic wand that's going to
give you like a like a sortinghat that's going to give you a
magic answer about every choiceyou're making in your life. It
just doesn't work like that. Butthe Akashic records can be a
really profound tool or place orway of learning, growing and

(43:05):
expanding. So let me know yourthoughts about the Akashic
records. Is this work thatyou've ever dabbled in? Is this
something that you have beencurious about? Is this something
that you would like me to thinkabout doing, like an eight week
class about and so you couldlearn more about it. Let me know
your thoughts. You can alwaysemail admin at joyful
medium.com, and I hope that youhave enjoyed this little talk

(43:27):
about the Akashic records. And Ihope it's really kind of
expanded your mind aboutunderstanding your record
library, your Akashic guide, andwhat might be possible for you,
or even maybe things you'veexperienced in past lives that
have helped to color who you aretoday, or the way you make your
choices, or why you make yourchoices, or even younger

(43:49):
versions of you in thislifetime. It's all a part of
this work. So I hope that thishas been interesting for you. I
hope that you are a little bitresting assured that I am back
in action and not abandoninganyone and not going anywhere.
And we've got some greatconversations coming up with
some amazing souls just aroundthe corner. I don't want to give

(44:11):
any spoilers, but there are acouple conversations long
awaited, and I've mentioned thisbefore, but if there are topics
you want to hear about, andwe've got another Ask a medium,
anything episode just on thehorizon. So if you want to
submit questions for that, it'snot too late. Admin at joyful
medium.com, and I am just sograteful to have you here as a
part of the community. Again, connections and community is a

(44:34):
really big part of our soul'sjourneys as individuals and as
collectives in this lifetime, and I'm so grateful to consider
you a part of my community. Bighugs, lots of love. I'm wishing
you wellness and health and goodrest and all of the things, and
please know I'm focusing onthose for myself as well. Big

(44:56):
hugs, lots of love. Yeah. Andbye for now, from inside spirit,
