Brian Plachta (00:02):
Welcome to Spirituality on the Go, the
podcast that helps you discoverthe spiritual tools you need to
live in the divine flowconnected to your true self and
God so you can experience innerpeace, balance, and wholeness.
Today we're going to explore atopic that can be life changing

(00:25):
for each one of us.

I call it (00:27):
the power of remembering you are one with
God.
To begin, let me ask you aquestion.
What if the greatest spiritualtruth that you can discover
isn't something we have to earnor figure out, but something we
just forgot or maybe somethingwe weren't taught?

(00:50):
What if beneath all the noise ofself-doubt and striving, all the
anxiety, all the trying tofigure out who God is and who we
are there's just a simple truthwaiting to be remembered, and
that truth is you are one withGod.
That truth isn't just a ideaintellectually or a metaphor,

(01:13):
it's a deep spiritual reality.
But the fact is, most of usweren't taught that.
We were taught somethingdifferent.
Most of us were taught thatGod's out there far away, that I
have to earn God's love.
I have to connect, confessenough to behave just right, do
all the right things.

(01:35):
And maybe just, maybe if I getit all right, I'll be worthy of
a connection with God.
But the mystics, the spiritualleaders over the years, Christ
himself, taught us that there'sanother truth, a different truth

(01:56):
that we have to remember.
Meister Eckhart once said,"theultimate fulfillment in life is

to recognize this one truth (02:04):
I am one with God." Think about
that.
Eckhart is telling us thatthere's just one thing that
unlocks the key to ourunderstanding of who we are and
who God is and that simple truthis, I am already one with God.

(02:28):
The contemplative mystic Julianof Norwich called this concept
"Oneing.".
She said that we are already onewith God.
We just have to awaken to thatsimple truth.
Thomas Merton, the monk, saidonce, we already one with God,

(02:49):
but we imagine we are not.
We just have to remember, andrestore the awareness of that
unity with God.
So today in our podcast, we'renot here to strive or learn
something new.
We're here to remember what ourhearts already know.

(03:10):
We our one with God.
We're not here to get anythingbut to return to what's always
been true.
So, a question is, why does thisremembering we're one with God
matter?
The reason is because when weforget, we're one with God, that

(03:32):
shapes how we live, and oftenhow we suffer through life when
we believe we're separate fromGod.
When we believe we're not onewith God, we live from a place
of self-doubt, constantlyquestioning if we're enough, if
we're good enough.
We live with anxiety, feelingthat we have to control or

(03:53):
perform to be safe or loved.
Or we live with shame, believingthere's something fundamentally
wrong with us, but we're notsure what that is.
And this disconnection that wefeel on the inside isn't just
emotional, it's spiritual andbiological.
When we live feelingdisconnected from God, we live

(04:17):
in fear.
Our nervous systems stays stuckin survival mode.
Our bodies tighten.
Our breath shortens.
Our brain recycles patterns ofunworthiness.
But when we begin to rememberour oneness with God, everything
changes.

(04:38):
Everything begins to shiftspiritually.
We awaken to love as our core, our essence.
It's not something we earn.
We are the divine image of loveconnected with God, who is love.
Mentally we soften that grip offear, that survival mode that we

(05:01):
live in.
We let go of that and our brainsplant new neuron pathways that
rewire the neurons in our brainto replace the untruths of being
disconnected with God to the onetruth that we are one with God.

(05:22):
And physically when we live fromthat perspective, that truth
that we're one with God, werelax.
Our breath deepens, Our heartsopen.
And emotionally we become morecompassionate with ourselves and
with others.
And here's another thing that'simportant.

(05:44):
When we forget we're one withGod and that others are one with
God too, we begin to project ourown unhealed, fears, our
insecurities.
We judge other people all aroundus.
We say the others as wrong, unworthy, or not spiritual
enough.

(06:04):
We criticize others and competewith them.
We divide and defend.
All because we've forgottenwe're all connected to the one
source of our being, God.
But remembering our oneness, ourOneing with God, restores us.

(06:27):
It opens the door to humility, empathy, and true connection
with our true selves and God.
We stop seeing other people asthreats or mirrors of our own
shame.
We begin to live from our trueselves.
We begin to see ourselves andothers as the divine sparks of

(06:50):
God's love in our human form.
This shift in our perspective, shapes how we see ourselves.
We no longer see ourselves orothers as projects to fix, but
instead we remember we aresacred beings with a divine

(07:11):
spark of God within us, withinothers.
We begin to see others not ascompetition or problems, but as
companions on this sacredjourney called life.
And it changes how we see theworld, not as a battlefield
where we have to protectourselves and defend and

(07:32):
survive, but the world then isholy ground shimmering with
divine presence---the unfoldingof love that we get to
participate in creating morelove in the world.
So if all that's true, if we areone with God, how do we move

(07:52):
from that truth, from our headsinto our hearts?
How do we rewire our minds, soften our bodies, and awaken
our spirits to what's alreadytrue?
And the answer is, it comesthrough practice, daily.
Practice, not performance, notperfection, but quiet, embodied.

(08:14):
Remembering.
It invites us to remember thattruth, to sit in stillness, to
use guided meditations like theone that I'll next offer us to
walk through.
It's just a simple rememberingin our hearts and our souls,
that we are one with God andallowing that truth to sink into

(08:39):
our bones, to sink into ourbeing and replace the old false
truths.
So if you would, let's take afew sacred moments now to rest
in that truth together through aguided meditation I'll walk you
through next.
Take a moment and find a safeplace where you can be in the

(09:00):
quiet.
To take a few moments to restwith this guided meditation.
In that quiet place, take amoment to close your eyes.
Allow yourself to arrive to thismoment, this place, where you

(09:26):
are present to yourself andknowing God is here with you.
As you take this moment to bestill, begin by taking a few
deep breaths in through yournose and then exhale through

(09:49):
your mouth.
Relax your body.
Your arms, your shoulders.
Let your jaw soften and allowyour mind to sink into your
heart space.
Bring your awareness to yourbelly, the quiet sanctuary at

(10:11):
the center of your being.
And breathe into that space inyour body.
Feel the breath of the HolySpirit flowing in your belly,
and just let your attention, your focus rest there.
And when you're ready, begin torepeat this mantra, either

(10:38):
silently or out loud after me.
I am one with God.
I am one with God.
I am one with God.

(10:59):
God is one with me.
God is one with me.
Nothing can separate me fromGod.
Nothing can separate me from Godbecause I am always held now and

(11:22):
forever in God's divine embrace.
I am held now and forever inGod's divine embrace, and I
awaken to the truth.
That I am one with God, I am onein God.

(11:52):
Let the words settle into yoursoul like rain soaking into dry
soil, allowing you to breathe inthe truth.
The truth that you are alreadyone with God.
Your soul knows it.
Your heart is awakening to it,and your mind follows the truth

(12:19):
that you know deep down you areone with God.
You don't have to force thistruth.
You don't have to feel anythingspecial within you.
Just just let it be true.
And as you speak those words toyourself, your mind might

(12:40):
wander, and that's okay.
It happens to all of us.
Just bring it back to a simplemantra.
I am one with God.
If old thoughts arise like I'mnot enough, or I have to earn
God's love or I don't know ifthis is true or not, whatever it

(13:01):
is, just notice those oldthoughts.
They're old neuron pathwayswe've learned over the years.
But you can replace them bygently returning to your breath
and the truth that God is onewith you and you are one with

(13:24):
God.
And as you sit in the quiet, feel the presence of the divine.
God's amazing spirit of lovewithin the rise and fall of your

(13:44):
breath.
Know that God's presence is inthe quiet rhythm of your
heartbeat and feel the sacredtruth already within you.
You are created by God.

(14:07):
You are always connected withGod.
You don't have to strive.
You just return to that truth.
You don't have to earn thatlove, that oneness with God.
You simply remember it.
You awaken to the truth therewithin your soul.

(14:33):
You are one with God.
Always forever.
Just rest in that truth.
For a few more moments of quiet.

(14:57):
And when you're ready, bringsome gentle movement back into
your body.
Maybe wiggle your fingers, rollyour shoulders.
Experience the joy of being onewith God, and then open your
eyes and carry this truth withyou.

(15:20):
Let this truth that you are onewith God transform you, how you
see yourself, how you see theworld, how you see others.
Remember, you are not separatefrom God.
You are not broken.
You are not forgotten.

(15:41):
You are one with God always nowforever.

You're on a journey to rememberyou've never been apart from
God.
Until next time, may you walkgently, breathe deeply.
