Brian Plachta (00:01):
The pull and the
call to what is life giving.
Find a comfortable seat.
Let your spine lengthen yourshoulders.
Soften your hands and rest themgently in your lap.
Just notice your body.
(00:25):
Be present in your body.
Here.
And now Next, close your eyes.
Take a slow, deep breath in andexhale gently.
(00:47):
Again.
Inhale peace.
Exhale, any tension.
Feel yourself present in thismoment here now, and know that
the Holy Spirit is with you inthis sacred space.
(01:09):
Just you and God.
God alone and you.
You are safe.
You are held, you are loved.
You are God's beloved.
Rest in God's love.
(01:34):
Feel it gently tingle withinyour body, the presence of
divine love in you.
Next bring to mind.
This simple phrase,"I feel thepull and the call to what is
(02:02):
life giving.
The pull and the call to what islife giving." Let those words
echo in your heart.
Ponder them gently in your heartspace without thinking, just
(02:27):
observing, noticing how theyfeel within your heart space.
Begin to notice what are youfeeling pulled toward right now
in your life.
(02:50):
What is pulling you, not just inthis moment, but perhaps in your
relationships, perhaps in yourdesires, the choices you are
considering.
Where do you feel a tug, atemptation, a curiosity, a
(03:16):
tension.
What stirs your interest?
Even if it also stirs confusion.
Just observe.
No judgment.
Only noticing what is pullingyou, tugging at you.
(03:43):
Now gently shift your attentioninto listening in your heart
space to this question,"Where doyou feel the call to what is
life giving?" Not just in thismoment, but in your life, the
(04:10):
season of your life, what bringsyou peace, even if it's hard?
What restores your sense ofconnection with God, your true
self, your purpose?
(04:33):
Where do you feel most at homein your soul in terms of what is
calling you?
Offer it a name, what is callingyou that's life giving.
(04:55):
Now take a breath.
Imagine these two movements, thepull and the call as two rivers
flowing.
They may flow both through you,but only one of the rivers leads
you home.
(05:16):
Feel that truth rise in yourchest and say to yourself, I
choose what is life giving.
Say it slowly with your wholebeing, mind, body, and spirit.
Feel it echo within your being.
(05:40):
I choose what is life giving.
And notice what is the choicewithin you that's calling you,
that is life giving.
(06:04):
And let that river flow withinyou.
That choice, the life-givingchoice, the call to what is
life-giving for you.
Now in silence simply rest inGod.
(06:28):
There's no need to figure itout.
Figure anything out, just bestill and let God hold the parts
of you that feel conflicted, curious, or tender.
Just let God hold all of you,all of your emotions and your
feelings, because they're justparts of you.
(06:56):
Let God and God's love hold itall.
Hold all of you.
And as you close thismeditation, perhaps offer this
(07:19):
prayer, God of clarity andcompassion.
Thank you for the honesty of myheart.
Thank you for the gentle way youshow me what leads to life.
Help me stay rooted in you tohonor the longing without losing
(07:42):
my center to follow the call, not the pull.
To choose what is good, real, and true.
What is life giving.
Let your peace be my innercompass.
(08:03):
Let love be my boundary and letyou be my inner guide.
In all of your holy names, God Ipray.
Amen.
