Brian Plachta (00:01):
Today we focus on
a simple question
wisdom?
Wisdom is one of those wordsthat we don't hear much about
these days.
It's not used often, but it'sone of the core pieces of living
in a sense of wholeness, ofbeing united in mind, body and
(00:23):
spirit.
Wholeness and wisdom gotogether.
And wisdom is the ability todiscern what is true and what
its false.
Wisdom is the ability to listendeeply to our hearts, our souls
(00:46):
to be guided by the Holy Spirit, the one who created, and formed
us, our source so that we canlive our best life.
And wisdom comes from threesources.
First, it comes from experience.
When I touch a hot stove andburn my finger, I know by
(01:07):
experience not to touch that hotstove again.
And so we learn wisdom by life'sexperiences, by the things we go
through, by what is good, andbrings us closer to joy, peace,
and love living from our trueself And what Is not so good.
(01:28):
What's not life giving, and thatbecomes a form of wisdom for us.
We know and understand what todo and what not to do.
The second form of wisdom isspiritual reading, listening to
podcasts, reading books thatinspire us, learning from others
(01:51):
who are just a little bitfurther than us on the journey.
That's why in Finding Flow onthe path of divine flow, the
second pillar of living alifestyle of living in the
divine flow of God's grace isspiritual reading.
Because when we get wisdomthrough the words of others that
(02:13):
have learned wisdom and are nowteaching us those things, we put
wisdom into our brain throughthose words we chew on; things
other than just the world, andwe allow ourselves to focus on
(02:33):
things that inspire us to grow.
The third form of wisdom thatcomes to us is what I call light
bulb knowledge.
St.
John of the Cross calls itinfused wisdom.
It's when you're walking alongperhaps and all of a sudden, an
idea pops into your head, ananswer to a problem or a
(02:58):
question you had all of a suddenjust arises within you, and
that's that light bulb knowledgethat God provides us when we're
just simply have an open heartand an open mind.
One of the key individuals inscripture who prayed for and
(03:20):
gained wisdom is Solomon.
When he was made king, God said, ask for anything you want.
And Solomon prayed for wisdom.
And God granted him the wisdomto understand the many decisions
he would have to make during hislife.
One of which we see when twowomen came to him and were
(03:44):
claiming each of them were themother of the baby that they
held.
And Solomon in his wise wisdompaused and said, give me the
baby and I'll cut it in half.
Solomon knew because he gainedwisdom from God that the true
mother would say, give the babyto the other woman, because the
(04:09):
true mother would want her childto live.
And so Solomon, through hiswisdom granted to him, by God
awarded the baby to the truemother.
May you and I pray for the giftof wisdom, may wisdom be a
grace, a virtue that God givesto us when we seek it with all
(04:33):
our heart, our mind, and ourbodies.
Have a great day and may wisdombe yours today.
God bless.
