Right now it is home and then soon enough off

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Well there you go, west Shenna. So what what do
you have for us today? You got any? I don't
know if you've been listening in or do you have
any baseball selections? You got any football thoughts six Ers
Las Vegas Summer Summer League, you can bet them John there,
they're one hundred and fifty to one to win it.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
You're fifty one. Those are enticing odds. I'll tell you
that's what I.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Want to get. I want to get John's overall thoughts
on the Phillies because I know I've been someone that's
not getting too high, not getting too low. John. I
know when they were, you know, in first place, playing
really well, he was really high on him, And now
that they're struggling, I want to see if anything has
changed and if there's anything alarming that you're seeing.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Yeah, well, struggling, Like I guess yes, But also they're
a game or two back from the top of the
National League. So it's it's struggling, but like it's struggling
when we look at the bigger picture of playoffs, it's
we see things that aren't fit for that. That's part
of the season. But I think to me, like, if
(02:14):
there's one there's one thing that needs to be fixed,
Like I don't care about outfield at this point. They
probably do need a bad but I don't care if
they don't get it. They have tried and tried with
Max Kepler and other pieces. Austin Hayes like this has
just been a chronic problem for them, but it's something
I think the lineup has been able to overcome. One
of I think the biggest problems right now is bullpen.
(02:35):
They have not been able to figure out how to
replace Jose Alvarado. They do have Arian Kirkering, who looks
like he is going to be a reliable lightening guy
and a really high leverage lightening guy. Not Strom's been
able to give them some good innings.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
But what they really need is that third one.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
And I think they need to go all out if
that means they bypass an outfielder to do it and
they end up going straight to the bullpen and putting
everything into getting that guy. So be it, get Duran
from Minnesota, get Class A from Cleveland, whatever whoever you
want to get. But I really think they need to
go all in to get a reliever. And I keep
seeing sometimes the package heel because there are two guys
(03:14):
Mason Miller and Emmanuel Klasse that they could possibly get
as relief pitchers. You compare an outfielder. Cleveland has Stephen
Kwan and Brett Rooker for Oakland Oakland or the Athletics
wherever they are now. But I just I think that's
going to be two.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Hi have a price tag.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
I don't think people understand how high of a price
tag that's going to be. Just get the reliever, just
get just get a high leverage relieve with reliever. And
that's one of the biggest problems in need to fix.
But yeah, I think it's like pretty simple.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Just do that.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
And I think they're set, and not that it's to
guarantee that they win in the postseason, but I think
that's really the biggest thing, right.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Yeah, John, I pointed out at the top of the show.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Yeah, and you're right. I mean they are only a
game behind the best record of the nationally a couple
games behind. They are also only three games ahead of
the Padres, who are just outside of the wildcards. That's
a concern for me. They're a half game ahead in
the division. They have just wasted this incredible starting pitching,
(04:09):
which is you could probably make a case since the
beginning of June, so we're talking what six weeks now,
this is along the greatest six week stretch of starting
pitching in modern baseball history.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
It's incredible, and they're.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
Not running because they just can't get any hits and
or they give up late leads.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
For both.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
Yeah, and it's certainly it's gonna go in both directions,
right like I think starting pitching certainly isn't going to
play that level for the entire second half. But they're
still gonna be really good. It's gonna be a strong suit.
They're still the top rotation I think in baseball, so
you're still going to get that level play even if
it's not all time modern great like they have been
as you said. But what also happens is Bryce Harper
gets healthy. We've already seen the impact he has when
(04:51):
he's good, and that San Francisco game is a really
great example of it. Started putting some good, good swings
in good at bats and really productive. So that also
raises their offense to like a very high level when
you have Bryce Harper doing that. So you know, I
get that there's frustrating games like last night where the
offense isn't doing much, but once they get into the
second half, you know, I think that the lineup certainly
(05:13):
is going to raise its level a little bit just
because you do have Bryce Harper back, and that's a
big deal. They've missed Bryce Harper for most of the season.
I had to say most, but it has been a
significant portion of the season. And when you lose a
bat for that long, yeah, lineup is going to suffer.
He changes everything. So I think it's gonna work both ways.
I think the lineup's going to elevate this game a
little bit. Certainly, starting pitching is not going to be
(05:36):
what it has been for the past six weeks, but
I think that kind of evens itself out, and I
think the Phillies are more set because really it's just division.
Win the National League East, don't the wildcard. Don't try
and get yourself in a wildcard spots. Just win the
National League East. Wherever you fall in the National League
standings overall, so be it. But I think they're more
set up to win the division than the Mets, just
(05:56):
because of that starting pitching.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Starting pitching is.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Good in the postseason, but get consistently good outings, as
they have over and over again, you're likely to end
up in better positions throughout the regular and the odds
are you're going to win more games. So I think
they're in a much better spot than the Mets. Ye.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
They're a great regular season team for that reason, and
the playoffs are just crazy anyway. So discover today's schedule, John,
anything in particular you like the first game that intrigues me.
And then the Yankees just killed the Cubs last night.
Cubs are having a great year. You can make a
pretty good case. The two best outfielders in baseball are
in this game, obviously, are Judge for the Yankees and
(06:32):
this kid, Pete Crow Armstrong, the center fielder for the Cubs.
He is having some season. I mean, he's probably the
the MVP voting was today, he'd probably be second O Tony.
I mean, that's how good he's been.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
Yeah, he's he's been great. And I've been I've been
really shocked by the Cubs lineup overall one through nine.
I know, the Dodgers we talk about a lot, and
then we kind of dismissed the Cubs, who got straight
to the Phillies and maybe even times straight to the Mets.
The Cubs are right up there with the Dodgers. All
they need to do is short up their starting rotation
through the trade deadline just the middle of the rotation guy,
(07:06):
and that's a dangerous one through nine lineup. It has
pop everywhere. They have power all over the place. They
have Yeah, they have great Yeah, they have great on
base percentage. They have guys like Pee Crow, Armsong, good fly,
great defense. That was really supposed to be just kind
of a little bit of a defensive team and just
try and pitch your way through the season and play
(07:27):
good defense. But they've been able to hit like very
well and that's been scary. So the Cubs very good.
I do actually like them today. They have Matthew Boyd
in the mount who's been one of their better starters.
They're going up against Max Freed. Max Freds amazing, but
I really kind of like that matchup for the Cubs
there plus one thirty with the way the line ofsen
playing Detroit is taking on Seattle as well. Detroit ended
(07:49):
up getting beat pretty bad last night, but I'm gonna
go go back to them. Casey mais ninety two two
point six three ERA getting about minus one thirty against
the Mariners, So I think Detroit is for a bit
of a bounce back, and let's go to Saint Louis
and Atlanta. Atlanta, we aren't sure who's going to be playing,
but I just don't think the Braids are very good
at this point. Cardinals, they're fighting a bit in the central.
(08:12):
It's gonna be a little bit tough because it looks
like Milwaukee has kind of retold the rotation with this guy,
the Mids. They're calling him just tall, lanky, throws one
hundred miles an hour and his extension basically he's about
halfway to the plate once he extends.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
So I'm.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
Very young. I forget the age, but he's he's probably
in his early to mid twenties. He's very very young
kid and very talented.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
He's Paul Schemes in the American League.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
That's that's so. Yeah about my man? How about my man?
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Skeets since June, Yes, his era is like zero points
zero zero and he has no wins.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
Yeah, four and.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
It is It is crazy to see a record like
that when when you watch him pitch and you see
the numbers and then you go, oh, he has a
very negative wind rocks like an under five hundred. That yeah,
it's a welcome to Pittsburgh thing. But it's just it's
that's hard to do with baseball in general. That's not
just that is hard to do. We've seen a little
bit like Jacob the Gram and Felix Hernandez go through
(09:13):
that at times with the meds in Seattle. But this
feels like it is uh it's a little bit more
aggressive in that. Uh so, yeah, I've Schemes and the
thing is it's gonna hurt him. I think in the
in the cy Young race, if you want to go
to Cy Young odds and have that conversation, it's just
that Dak Wheeler is going to be pitching in more
meaningful games, and so it's going to be a bigger impact.
When Schemes goes nine innings, gives up a runner two
(09:34):
and loses a game, it doesn't have the same feeling
as Zach Wheeler in a big game, complete game one
or two runs and ends up winning in the Phillies
and know now go two and a half, three and
a half games up okaon match. Whatever the case is,
it's just that that that is going to be impactful
in the Cy Young race. That yes, the numbers with
Schemes are good, but as as Wheeler's numbers get a
lot closer to him and that margin narrows, I think
(09:57):
the meaningfulness of what Zack Wheeler is doing and and
the games he's pitching in. It's going to take over.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
You want to talk about Seth wail or Solid thirty
five Wheeler thirty five. Yeah, I think you want to
talk about this legendary run for the Phillies. Three of
the top five betting favorites for Cy Young or Phillies, Yell.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
Phillies, Juarez and uh and Wheeler and Amazing Schemes and
Logan Web.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Yeah. How often has that ever happened?
Speaker 2 (10:25):
When you think you probably have to go back to
the Orioles teams, like actually years ago with.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
Bit starts out, Yeah, he'd probably be close to that, Mitch.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
Yeah, yeah, Yeah, he's been a little inconsistent, but they're
still good stuff there and he's been he's put together
really good performances too lately.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
And that.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Does anybody know when or if Aaron Nola is coming back?
Speaker 1 (10:48):
I haven't heard.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Well. I think they definitely took their time a bit
because there was something else that came up with him.
So it's going to be after the also break. I
would say, if anything, end of July sometime in August,
like we're about that.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
Yeah, you just got to be your number four guy.
You can't take.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
I mean, correct Aaron Nola. Aaronola has as many almost
as close to as many innings as Zach Wheeler. And
Aaron Nola's like thirty one years old. This guy has
pitched an insane amount of baseball over the last like
ten to twelve years. And it's kind of like it's remarkable,
like Carlosses taught Aaron Nola a little bit. Like there
(11:27):
is I think a game or a few winnings, like
that's how much Aaronola's been playing. That's how long he has.
And he's he's pitched every season, almost every single start
up and he hasn't missed many starts.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
Yeah, he never gets hurt. This is like so unusual.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
So the hope is, I think here with the injury
may be a blessing in disguise where get healthy arm
is a little bit fresh, especially for the second half,
his arm maybe a little bit more fresh than it
usually is. And uh, the thing is it's a bit
of a bonus. At this point, you have your three
for the for the playoffs. Usually the fourth guy is
a bonus one or somebody that you're already skeptical about
I take Aronola there as a fours or fourth. Yeah,
(12:03):
I certainly think Aaronola, you know, it's it's it's a
good thing to have that problem where he can go
in and I don't think the expectations are too high
and you can kind of just kind of ease him
into it and not have to rush him like they
probably would happen previous years.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
So Johnny's a couple other games I'm looking at, and
then see what you think you're paying attention to my Orioles.
I know miles one sixty seven today at home against
the Marlins. They've won five of six.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
Swept the Braves, took two or three for the Marlands. Stink.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Marlin's not good. They had a big road winning streak
which ended. Are they I'm not saying the Oriols are back,
but are you? Are you fascinated by hell? Well, they're playing.
Obviously I have because I have a wager involved. But
they look like the team we thought they're twenty four
and fourteen in their last thirty eight.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
Yes, that's when you have a young team that finally
went through. Maybe for a lot of these guys at
the first time of adversity, you know, expectations coming into
the season. They didn't get a lot of help in
the offseason too, so they kind of knew the core
players there, the young guys there, that they really have
to step up, and the Orioles were kind of relying
on those guys that have big seasons and carry the
(13:13):
team throughout the year, and they really haven't. So I
think it is a good good sign that they are
starting to put it together. That lineup is lethal, especially
if you are starting to get better performances out of
Gunder Henderson, Jackson Holliday and Anley Rushman and a lot
of those guys. They really need, at least Gunnar Henderson
to bump those numbers up, and I think they're starting
(13:35):
to get that. It's still remained be seen the pitching
starting pitching, if that can hold up for them to
make that kind of run, but it has at this point,
and the lineups really starting to play well as well.
So yeah, it's been it's been encouraging, I think for
a young team like that to say they could so
easily turn around in the second half to where they
start really getting streaky and putting together a long, long
(13:58):
line of wins so big. He's certainly intriguing. What you
on team like that starts to figure it out again?
Speaker 1 (14:03):
Yeah, I was fascinated it.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
I mean again, for the people that don't know, they
started the season nineteen and thirty six, I mean that
you know, you're you're basically out of it at that point.
I mean you.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
Record of that h just brutal.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
But since then they played six thirty three ball twenty
four and fourteen. As I said, And what fascinates me
is they lose the game to the Mets. They just
swept Atlanta, and they come home last six before the
All Star Game. They're up on the Mets six to
two in the top of the eighth on Tuesday, and
they got they got the closer waiting. I mean, the
(14:36):
game's over. If they get three outs, Mets tie the game,
Mets win the game to the top of the tent
and the men, you're thinking, that's it.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Yeah, it was this Kate.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
Well, they come back, they got to rain out the
next day, and then they played a day night doubleheader
and they're losing in the bottom of the eighth in
the afternoon game and Headerson comes up and hits a pitch.
It home run, win the game, then they win the
night game, then they crushed Florida last night. Now all
of a sudden, they're feeling good about them. So so
I like the fact that they were able to overcome
(15:07):
what was a brutal loss, which mess up a lot
of squads.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
I think the only the only tough part now may
be that. I mean, recently, it looks like nobody in
the American League East can lose, other than maybe Tampa Bay,
who's been a little bit struggling, but even the Actors
have put together five straight, Boston put together eighth straight,
Toronto nine and one of their last ten, Baltimore seven
and three in their last ten. So it really it
really self division.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
But I'm not worried about the division. I just wanted
to get in the wild Park.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
Oh yeah. It's just that they have to play those
teams unfortunately, and that kind of stuff. But that's where
I don't I'm not sure what the American League because
a lot of those teams like Texas three games out,
Minnesota three and a half, LA three and a half, Canda
City or Cleveland five like those are all candidates could
be sellers at the trade deadline. Correct, so I just
don't know how it's going to work there. Yeah, right,
(16:00):
I just I'm not sure what to make of it. So, yeah,
why not a team that's six games out?
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Yeah, they're basically Yeah, the Oriels are five games in
the lost column out of the wild card with seventy
one games to go. I mean, so there's no shortage
of time. Get it, like eight, nine, ten game winning streak,
and some of these, I think Cleveland.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
Just lost like nine or ten in a row. So
that's none of those Cleveland team in.
Speaker 4 (16:24):
Baseball loses nine or ten in a row and then
they win nine or ten in row.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
And again, as I mentioned a couple of weeks ago,
the Oriels had more wins in the last two years
and any team in baseball. Yeah, I mean, they didn't
just become terrible overnight. They had a terrible two months,
is what they had. Did they win a playoff series?
They did not. But I'm just no, I know, I'm
not worried about that. I'm just worried about getting get it.
(16:49):
Get me to the playoffs, Mike. That's all.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
They got to win a series. They had to win
three series. Get me to the playoffs, and we'll see
what maybe four three three to get to the American League.
Oh well, just one shift, that's that's where most But again, the.
Speaker 3 (17:02):
Good thing that the American League picture just looks looks
odd at this point. Like National League can see you
can sell the top teams and they're all condensed very
close together. The American League, is it? I mean it
is It is a crapshoot at this point. I'm really
I'm really not sure what to they g of it
to the point where I know the choice the best team,
but why would you not go, Hey, Houston's right now
fifty five and thirty nine. Uh, I know they've lost
(17:23):
their last four, but like, if they're going to be
in the in the picture, why not just like Houston
the American League.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
And there's only two American League teams that you can
count out. That's about it. All the other teams are
in it. It's fascinating.
Speaker 4 (17:36):
Houston's lost like five real good players in the last year,
two or three years, and one of their better players
is on the I L yeah, with injury and they're
still good.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
Yeah, And there's six games six games ahead and.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
The West on any other any other games today?
Speaker 1 (17:51):
The intreat you.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
I would not say all too much. We're getting to uh,
we're getting to a weird point and see and always
what you get towards the All Star break, teams are
just really trying to get to the finish line. So
it's a little bit of thing like, obviously, the most
interesting game today is going to be a tany on
the mound. How long does he go? How high is
this pitchdown going to be? They've been kind of using
(18:15):
what would be a simulated games, just using it in game,
and it's been fascinating to watch, and he is the
stuff is electric. Does he go a little bit farther today?
But maybe that's the one to look at as well,
just because you know, San Francisco's a good team, they're
at home plus one thirty five. I guess you may
get a little bit of a bump with Otani. But
how long is Atana gonna go? And that's always like
one of the biggest questions right now with him on
(18:37):
the mountain, the amount of pitchers they're going to give them.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
Yeah, Dodgers lost seven and or rather still the best
record in the National League even with them, and it's
pretty clear what the Dodgers are trying to do they
want to get Otani riding for the postseason where he's going.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
To be starting one of a game in every series.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
Literally, I mean, because John Smoltz has made this case
of a number of other guys that if he only pitched,
he could very well be the best pitcher of baseball,
which is kind of astonishing.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
And what's really working out for him too, it's, you know,
coming back from this injury. I'm sure he hasn't been
able to pitch his munch, but I'm sure he's been
able to work on it. He's working on his pitching mechanics,
He's working on everything to get back. So I think
his stuff has looked sharper than it has. I think
his mechanics are better than it has so. And guess
he's getting older too, like he's learning more. So I
(19:24):
think that's when, like, gradually, as the years go on,
he's just going to learn to become a better pitcher.
And I already think we're starting to see that just now,
you know, being able to do it for five, six,
seven innings, and that's really just the health part.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
And get them, by the way, a couple of futures. Yeah,
by the way, yeah, A couple of future bets. I'll
throw that John before you get out of here. To
win the National League. Dodgers plus one ten essentially even money,
Philly's plus four twenty five, so a little over four
to one, Clubs, six to one, met six to one.
Any you like, any of those bets at this stage
(19:58):
is where I would take all Mets.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
You will, no, And I'm I'm intrigued by the Cubs
number just because they're with the Mets. That doesn't make
sense to me. Cubs have looked. Cubs are better than
the Mets, and maybe I could even make a case
for them being even better than the Phillies just because
of how good that lineup is. But that's where the
starting rotation for the Phillies comes in, and that's a
whole different thing. But yeah, yep, oh yeah, oh yeah.
Speaker 4 (20:23):
You don't know what the Dodgers you're going to get.
The Phillies are going to get the couch. I mean,
this could all.
Speaker 3 (20:28):
Well, let's just put it this way. Every almost every
single playoff team their biggest need is bullpen help. Yes,
which one of those teams is actually going to pay
for it? Pay the price for it? The top on
for the cross Days and the Durhams of the league.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
Here's bet Park's futures for the World Series. At this stage,
Dodger's still the favorite, despite losing seven or a plus
two to fifteen Yankees at Detroit plus six fifty Phillies
plus eight to fifty anything, they're intrigued. I won't play
the Yankees. No Yankees at six fifty, Yeah problem Yeah, Houston, Houston. Uh,
(21:03):
that seems like a lot.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
Nobody's repeating Houston, Yeah, Houston.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
They're good there.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
What's their personal win the wers plus one thousand, hundred
to one.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
Yeah, well, whoa, that seems like that's yeah, no, no,
it's got to be plus ten ten to one, yeah, yeah,
take a shot.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
Yeah, it's pretty good Texas.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
The American League isn't good, so I can easily see
the only team that's really good is Detroit. But that's
that's when you get into the territory of they're going
to be the top team in the American League. They're
gonna have that bye weeks and they're not going to
play in the Wildcard round? Are the expectations going to
be too high? Are they too young? Do they falter
under all of that? Pressure, and we've seen a lot.
But yeah, teams, especially after getting the wildcard bodies that
(21:47):
they have been uh So, to me, it goes straight
to well, Houston knows how to win in all those games. Houston,
even though they've cycled through players, still has all to
help them do it. Yeah, we're and the starting kitchen
has been really good with Hunter. I just why not
Houston's been catching my eye of the American League was why
not if everything else is chaos and new and we
don't know what's going on.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
Like the AL.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
I think Detroit is better than I think because of Detroit,
nobody like after.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
The Orioles from the last two years with scoobl exactly,
that's exactly.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
They got all this young talent. They're good, they're legit.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
But yeah, they did well in the playoffs last year,
they played well, they were fined.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
Did they win a series last year in the playoffs?
Speaker 4 (22:29):
You know?
Speaker 1 (22:29):
I think they lost in the first round. It was
a close, but they had to go on the road,
right for three games to play somebody, right, I don't
remember all that forget.
Speaker 3 (22:39):
It was basically they call in on Scooble trying to
fitch them out of it.
Speaker 4 (22:43):
Yeah, you gotta face Schooble in game one.
Speaker 2 (22:46):
You know that's answer John. Final question before we let
you go. It's just been announced that VJ. Edgecomb is
out for the season. Are you concerned?
Speaker 3 (22:59):
I wouldn't be that. I'm not surprised. I know that
hasn't happened, but I I feel like I'm just waiting
for that news, just like, Okay, that's gonna happen at
some point.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
You know, you know who.
Speaker 4 (23:10):
I can't stand anymore by the way we got into
this early. You usually saved this for like Darn Moore,
Like when he opens his mouth, he was there was
something today they inquired did like a Q and A
or something like, you know, and he was he's optimistic
about everything, like, well, four guys come back. Well, of
course before your guys come back, and these stinks.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
I get it, But I mean that this would if.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
He wouldn't inject just a tiny bit of humility, everything
would be Okay.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
It's real.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
I will say this. I saw a video the other day. Uh,
Joel Embiid's son looked good shooting free thirst.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
On Embid got hood forrat.
Speaker 3 (23:56):
That was nothing but net Yeah that was good.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
Yeah, that was a Pride Way, Kyle, Kyle Lowry's back,
he's back, He's gonna be fair. I did forget kylewy
to the other guy. They brought back, the old guy,
Eric Gordon. He's younger, he's like thirty eight. So we're
talking about how they got. They got younger and quicker,
and now they got older. And I don't get this team.
(24:18):
And I don't think anybody I understand that that was
ser and.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
That isn't good point to make where yes, they got
j Edgecombe, but if they really wanted to make it
a point of getting younger, they didn't do it.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
Yeah, overall, Kyle going for and hopefully.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
And then Maury's sitting there, Well, if Paul George was
ten years younger and Beide had good knees and Kyle
Lowery Kyle Lowry was thirty years younger, then you know
we'd be in good. Kyle missed like one hundred teams
last year. He did.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
He missed all but all but one hundred, and he missed.
He missed, yeah, eighty two games. He missed what eighty one?
I mean, well, nobody nobody noticed, nobody played at the end.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
They were just no. He did average four points last year,
So can you look.
Speaker 2 (25:00):
Up his career stats real quick before we got a break? John,
Thank you for calling in. When we see you next week.
Are you in attendance at Ara Parks?
Speaker 3 (25:08):
No that the ever air portion will be. Maybe I'll
call him, but I'll be in South Carolina.
Speaker 2 (25:14):
Nouth Carolina Jangles and George Jangles plenty of it. All right, John,
we'll talk here next week.
Speaker 4 (25:21):
Say, Laury's just getting and you understand it's just now
under no, no, no, But I always tried to give
you that. I don't think he's as stupid as we
kind of make him out. But he's smug, like like
Kyle said, he's just got this smug this about him.
That does he not realize that he's lighter on his
team missed almost all last season, but he's got it
(25:43):
all figured out. And the guy he's signed for for
four years or whatever the hell they signed for culture
basically sat out last season.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
And I mean and setting out even when he was
playing for.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
A guy that doesn't have a track record. He's got
it all figured He is amazing. He's a winner. That yeah,
he's a what where's your ring? So let me see
your rings? Do we have Kyle Lowry's like, how many
career points does Kyle have? Career points? Like, sixteen seventeen thousand?
Speaker 2 (26:09):
Is he that high?
Speaker 1 (26:10):
Let me say I have his Yeah, I would say
ten a game.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
No more than I would think more than that career.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
Well, I'm just saying maybe the last few years of
struggling down.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
Definitely the last few years and brought his average numbers down.
Speaker 1 (26:22):
For sure. I got to pull up. We'll get to
it after Yeah, I just have his average.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
That's fine, we'll get to it.
Speaker 1 (26:27):
He got a ring right because he was in the
Toronto starting p Yeah, he was.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
Him and Kawhi Leonard were the two best players he was. Yeah,
absolutely was sixteen thousand and three fifty about that, I said,
seventeen thousand. Yeah, I mean he's starting to get I don't.
I don't think he's a Hall of Fame player, but
he's getting to, you know, and he's not going to
get to twenty thousand obviously now and he's probably not
gonna get there, but he's in. I would say some discussion.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
I I love Kyle. He's a Philly guy, right, not
a Hall of Fame.
Speaker 4 (26:56):
If he makes the Hall of Fames, I'm not paying
attention to the Hall of Fame ever again.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
Yeah, and yeah, I would.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
Agree with that.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
Yeah, you don't think he's gonna catch Lebron at all? Okay,
And that's no knock on Kyle. He's had.
Speaker 4 (27:07):
I mean, the reason the Sixers are bringing him back
because they think he can be a good influence on
all these sure young guards they got running Brown.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
Yeah, that's fine. And and they'll come in and they'll
He'll take.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
A few fouls and grab a few guys.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
They've the deepest coaching staff in the league.
Speaker 4 (27:22):
Dick Is pointed out to me about five times in
the last two years. He does make some dirty places.
The Knick Series right was the Knick Series right where
you have to go.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
It was brutal run and those guys. I mean, that's
all he's got left. He knows all the tricks at
this point. Well, we're through it now.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
