Speaker 4 (01:31):
My I've had a tough week. Why is the time
we lost a dog suddenly? Oh yeah, no, but there's
nothing worse. We only had her fifteen months and she
was only five years old, and it was sudden.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
We took her to I don't want to get people
depressed on.
Speaker 4 (01:51):
It, on it, but there's nothing worse the third time,
but the other two I got to say goodbye.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
You know, Yeah, this is tough man. People underestimate.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
And then somebody how I was I was texting, Oh no,
I was texting somebody, and somebody said to me they
they had lost the dog when it was two years old,
that it just went to sleep and it's and it's
craz and and I'm like and then my wife's looking
at me like I don't I don't want to get
any more dogs. And then like like two days later,
(02:20):
we're like, yeah, man, you know, it's just it's weird.
You don't stop thinking about it. You and now the
house is like quiet, but that's depressing.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
The Eagles are playing in an NF. You know, the Eagles.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
The only team that's played in more conference championship games
this century, it was the Patriots. It's insane, It is insane.
I mean, and this this is NBER their nine, seventh, seventh.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
And Eagles might not be done.
Speaker 4 (02:45):
I mean, look, Diagles, Look, look the team they're playing
to Mars in their division. Well, how many times one, two, three, four, seventeen,
twenty two seven?
Speaker 5 (02:55):
I believe, Oh that's right. They were in the other
one eight season nine, so I guess.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
It's eight then.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
I mean, and they're in a They were in this
game NBA because the Chiefs are closest, because the Patriots
were eight consecutives and then the Chiefs.
Speaker 4 (03:09):
Right now, think about these last three seasons. They were
in the Super Bowl almost one. Last year they were
ten and one, and we don't know what happened. It happened,
it happened. It will always be there. They came back
this year. They have lost once since the full game four.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
Well, the collapse of last year play into this game tomorrow.
We'll call. I mean, hey, Dick, how you doing. How
another ty was sitting another tough one last night?
Speaker 6 (03:38):
Huh. I was going to decide if you thought I
was actually here or not. Mike, you just look, I
got come on, man, you got you got to acknowledge
the host a little bit. But yeah, I know, I'm sorry.
I know how bummed that you are because you were
texting me all week. But it's brutal. You were so
I but yeah, no, this is yeah, absolutely, Kyle. It's
(03:58):
all about what happened at the end of last year.
He thought about something couldn't be more irrelevant. Yeah, this
is a totally different game. Best defense in the NFL. Yeah,
I mean, look, it's it's wild. And if you've said
at the beginning of the year, you're a six point
favorite to go to the Super Bowl at the home
game against washing and you just said, oh my god,
mark it up. Put him put him in the Super Bowl. Buck.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
In two thousand and two, they were a four point
favorite over the Bucks. In two thousand and three, they
were four and a half point favorite over the Panthers.
I am I'm convinced, and I thought about this, and
I know Jalen might be hurt. I don't you know,
we don't know whatever. We'll find out losing this game tomorrow.
If you had said the start of the playoffs, you
(04:41):
want to play Washington in the first round, that's what
everybody wanted to do.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
They didn't want to play Green Bay.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
They want to play Okay, so you're getting Washington, who,
by the way, at the start of the season had
the same win total bet as the Tennessee Titans. Okay,
the Tennessee Titans are picking first in the NFL Draft,
and the guy in Washington.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
The guy in.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
Washington is the first Washington coach, Dan Quinn to win
a playoff game in his first year since like some
guy in the thirties stuffy something, I.
Speaker 6 (05:09):
Don't have a lot of playoff games the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
That's right, you're right. I had to go.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
If the Eagles lose this game tomorrow, I think it's
just as bad as the Bucks game.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
I really do. And I noted Washington's life.
Speaker 6 (05:26):
We tore you're always so negative. We got to stop
with the negative.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
I'm just saying they gotta win one now. They got
to win this game.
Speaker 6 (05:33):
It's not here's the reality. Here's the reality. They're better
at about seventy five to eighty percent of the position
you are, which is why they're favored. Washington has been
awesome down a stretch, incredible the playoffs, two upsets on
the road. Nobody felt they beat Detroit. They didn't beat him,
they crushed them with a blowout. So they're they're playing great.
(05:54):
Jayan Daniels is having one of the great rookie seasons
in the history. But having said all that, the Eagles
had the better player their home. They're supposed to win.
Will be a disaster if they lose, Yeah, because you
know you're supposed to win get to the super Bowl.
But by the way, for people that are interested in
such things, I just looked up on Bett Parks if
Eagles are in the super Bowl or whoever's in the
(06:15):
super Bowl, Buffalo minus.
Speaker 7 (06:16):
One over the Eagles, Buffalo minus four and a half
over Washington, Kansas City minus one and a half over
the Eagles, Kansas City minus four and a half over Washington,
and Kansas City.
Speaker 6 (06:28):
By the way, is minus two in the second game tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
Dick, what was the first thing you texted me when
we knew what was kind of going to happen? And
that was my bad day. But I'm still texting you.
Yeah you said Washington's live. They're alive.
Speaker 6 (06:45):
They are a live Yeah. Yeah, they have to get
the six is a big number, and they're playing beautifully.
Their issue is there's there's four units in the field.
I'm not counting special teams, right. Eagles have a really
good offense, Washington's really good up. Eagles have a great defense,
Washington has a mediocre, too bad defense. Yeah. Of the
(07:05):
four yunits, there's only one that you can say, hey,
they're vulnerable, and it ain't on the Eagles side. So yeah,
they should win the game. They're the better team. But
the other quarterback's great. Weld of wide receivers for Washington,
they're starting to believe they can do anything. I'll believe
it when I see it. I like the Eagles tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
Yeah, but the last time they played, and again the
quarterback got hurt.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
The Eagles will winning.
Speaker 4 (07:27):
The guy did throw five touchdowns and don't yeah, and
I don't think and again I tend to. I think
the Eagles are going to win tomorrow. I don't know
about the six or six and a half. I mean,
I'll figure it out at some point. But the thing
that bothers me is if Washington gets in that game
and they're playing and it's like in the third quarter
(07:48):
and it's an even game. I just wonder at some
point if Washington doesn't wake up, you know, they scare
me a little bit. And the Eagles are the better team.
Speaker 6 (07:57):
There's no doubts, Annaly. I've seen these games before, those guys,
and what often happens is the team that stayed in
these games, which obviously is the Eagles. They're used to it,
and all of a sudden there's something on the line,
I mean, something big is on the line right plan
to get to the Super Bowl. So and that has
a tendency, especially for a road team, which what was
(08:21):
the over under a wins mic like five, I don't
know what.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
All I know is them and the Titans. I don't
think they would. There's probably teams that were less than them.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
I guess I'm trying to say Carolina, right, but they
were the same.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
I think they were one hundred and fifty to one
to win the Super Bowl, because there was a.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
Story this week that somebody actually put five hundred dollars
down on them at some point. And but there's one
team's picking first draft and the other things. And one
team's got this guy a quarterback in the Titans. Guy,
whoever the hell they got a quarterback?
Speaker 3 (08:55):
I can't remember.
Speaker 6 (08:57):
Yeah, it doesn't, it doesn't matter. Major Creditani Jansen because
he told us midway through the college season last year
that Jade Daniels was the best player at college football. John,
what did you say last year that told you, Well,
I don't know if you knew this was going to happen,
but you knew.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
Yeah, this not this. And especially because I think there's
another part of this story with Washington that's having a
redemption arct that I think is a bigger story. But
Jane Daniels, it's it's the athleticism, it's the deep ball.
He has one of the most accurate I think we
saw that against Detroit too. He had one of those
throws what it was like a quick release, It's all
the way across the field, down the field and it
ends up being perfect. And the accuracy downfield and the
(09:34):
willingness to push the ball downfield to make big plays
that is that is tough to teach and it's something
to get quarterbacks to do that. Jane Daniels was doing
it and thriving in it at LSU. So yeah, it's
the talent's there. I don't know if he's like the
most talented person I've ever seen coming into the NFL,
the most talented quarterback, the smartest quarterback. But he had
(09:54):
like some pretty elite traits in one being a deep
ball that you.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
Could make the argue with that. And I think Cliff Kingsbury,
by the way, he's kind of getting.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
Redeemed that he wasn't a good head coach.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
He wasn't a good head coach because.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
He don't think a good offensive coordinator at that point.
Speaker 4 (10:07):
But whatever, he's but look at the guys who've come
out recently. Trevor Lawrence was considered to be better, and
Burrow is good.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
I mean, let's not. I mean, he's Cale Williams.
Speaker 4 (10:17):
I mean, obviously there were people thought that maybe he
was a little.
Speaker 5 (10:20):
And he might turn out to be I think he's
gonna turn out that was just a dysfunctional.
Speaker 4 (10:24):
But yeah, I think we didn't follow Jaydon Daniels because
the LSU lost three games, so they weren't kind of
in that national title. Whatever this guy is and he
played what for three schools, John you played Arizona, so.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
He played an LSU.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
Oh, he didn't go to a school or forever.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Yeah, it went from yeah, I think he just her
edwards the state by the way to LSU, which Brian
Kelly uh three of the offensive players of the year
in college football are LSU players are not in college
football in the NFL are our rookie offensive play of
the Years r l s U Brian Milik Neighbors, Brian
Thomas Junior, and Jaye Daniels. And they lost three games.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
They were all in the team lest year, very.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
All three or three of the best offensive players.
Speaker 5 (11:08):
And it's like, that's like almost Burrow, Jefferson, Chase honestly,
And I looked at I remember.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
Seeing those numbers last last year when I was voting
for the Heisman, and remember seeing it was it was
not only like close or oh, it's reminiscent of Joe Burrow,
Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson. It was Joe Burrow, Jamar
Chase and Justin Jefferson. Like all the numbers weren't comparable,
if not better in some areas.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
And you think they couldn't win it that team with
Burrow Dick, would you agree might have been one of
the best teams we've seen. I mean, Penn State's ninety
four offense was great. Right, I'm sure there's one or
two in there that I'm that I'm going, But that
LSU team was like nuts who was a running back?
Speaker 6 (11:54):
Oh yeah, the Kansas City drafted It turned out not
to be that good back.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Back in the day.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Yeah, that's right, Yeah, don't I don't remember l.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Was running back last year. They didn't use them.
Speaker 6 (12:07):
To your yeah, to your point of bath. I actually
did a study on this a couple of years ago,
the ninety four Penn State team, which averaged forty seven
a game, versus an LSU team, And what I tried
to do was because they run so many more plays now,
trying to get a sense of like, you know, plays
versus yards, And it was almost exactly the same. The
difference is LSU threw for a lot more yards or
(12:29):
the Penn State team, John, I know, I think I
told you this a couple of years ago. They ran
for two fifty and threw for two Actually, I know,
college stop.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
College football and then to Dick, right, I mean like
when that Ben's State team came along, we hadn't really
seen that, and we kind of didn't know how to
react to it.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
Now, everybody like this, well, they.
Speaker 6 (12:51):
Didn't play they didn't play fast, they were just great.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
I mean that's that's what I mean.
Speaker 4 (12:55):
Yeah, Like, but college football in the nineties, I mean,
Miami at that point, they're done.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
But we just didn't see offenses like that.
Speaker 4 (13:02):
We saw great offenses, but sometimes it was Nebraska doing
what they did.
Speaker 6 (13:05):
Or eight of their eight of their eleven starters on
offensive play in the NFL. See Ella, Well, the running.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
Back would have been really really good, right if he
hadn't got hurt.
Speaker 6 (13:18):
King John Carter for sure, that's Freddie Scott, Bobby Ingram,
Kerry Collins, all the offensive lineman, Kyle Brady. I mean,
they were an awesome team. Uh, but let's go back
to the Eagles. John, let's get a selection from you
here to start with, we'll all have a selection minus six.
Now with the understanding minus six and anything else, you're like,
what do you thick there?
Speaker 2 (13:39):
The Eagles are a much better team. I've been pretty
adamant about the Eagles all playoff long, and I think
the Rams game you would have had to gotten the
right number. So it got close but I am adamant
that is the best best thing in the NBC. The
only other team is Detroit. It turns out Detroit had
too many defensive problems that they weren't nearly on the same.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
Le team guys on the IL Yeah exactly.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
I mean they had their entire starting defense on the IRHI,
which is insane. So yeah, it turned out to be
a little bit too much. The Eagles are by far
clearly the best team the blueprint for Washington to win defensively,
because they give up a ton of yards, they give
up a ton of big plays. They are a bad
defensive team. But if they get turnovers, that's positive plays
(14:19):
that they can get. It's the only positive plays they
can get defensively. Good luck turning the Eagles over. The
Eagles have not turned the ball over at all. They
don't fumble, they don't throw picks, they don't make many mistakes. Yes,
maybe the Eagles offense isn't as efficient in the passing
game as it should be. I think, at least in
the playoffs. I've been a little bit disappointed with how
they played. But also I think the Eagles passing offense
(14:39):
matches up a lot better against Washington than they did
against the Rams, and I think it'll be better. But
all I know is they don't turn the ball over.
Washington needs that because their defense can't do anything else.
I think this is a bad matchup for Washington. I
like the Eagles big time in this game.
Speaker 6 (14:54):
I agree, And I wanted to run one thing back
from a couple of things back from last week's game. One,
I was wrong about Matthew Stafford. He was great. I
thought he'd come in here and hits the snowball would
kill him, and he was. He was sensational. Yeah, No,
he was great. He's going to the the whole thing.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
He was apparently playing with broken ribs for weeks.
Speaker 6 (15:14):
Yeah, he was. He was phenomenal. Now he was ridiculous
because he was getting hit. He just kept standing in
there and firing away the other thing. And I texted
Mike about this, and I texted John about this. So
the Rams are so, the Eagles have the game won.
Barkley goes for seventy eight yards. It's over right there
out there, up thirteen. They missed the extra point, but yeah,
very fine. Well they let the Rams just waltz right
(15:35):
down the field for no particular reason that I can
figure out. And then they go three and out with
a ridiculous second down play where.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
They get sacked second the clock.
Speaker 6 (15:44):
Yeah, it was just absurd. So and then here come
the Rams again, and they're coming down the field and
your yeah, your heart's news, Trik, You're going, oh my god. Yeah.
If they score a touchdown and kick an extra point,
they lose the game. So it's they get the fourth end.
They sack them on third in, So there's a there's
a minute left, and Siriannie's sitting over there doing nothing.
When you have to call time out there because the Rams,
(16:08):
if they make a first down, are going to have
four downs to score with like twenty five seconds left
if you don't call it timeout. But if you do
call a timeout and the Rams get a first down,
now you can use your other timeout and even if
they score a touchdown, you'll have like forty five seconds left.
I can't believe the guy didn't call it timeout. Fortunately,
they did not make a first down. If they had
(16:29):
made a first in, it didn't matter because they were
either way. If the Eagles call a timeout and they
don't make a first down, they're still going to run
the clock. Out and he just sat there and let
the clock run. That was it twenty five seconds when
they finally threw the ball four down? Crazy, Yeah, just stupid.
And you know again, that's why you hire a clock
guy to explain that to the coach. The time meant
(16:50):
nothing to the Rams and it met everything to the Eagles.
It turned out they didn't make it fourth first down,
so that became irrelevant. But man, that could have been
a complete disaster because all the Eagles would field all
to win the game.
Speaker 5 (17:01):
Yeah, but I want to rewind that a little bit.
The Eagles were shutting down the Rams offense all day.
Stafford looked great, but ultimately they couldn't capitalize.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
Yep, what happened?
Speaker 5 (17:12):
What was their scheme on that defensive drive to allow
Stafford in the Rams offense to go seventy yards in
a minute thirty?
Speaker 2 (17:19):
I don't think it was anything prevent I had that
prevent even so I don't even keep doing what you
were doing. So they I saw a lot of videos
they weren't even playing prevent. They were maybe playing a
little bit softer. Matthew Stafford just made some like unbelievable
throws Like Matthew Saffords is really good because the one play,
especially towards the end of the game to Pookaakua was
just how how can you beat throw? Catch? Uh down
(17:40):
the sideline? But that drive that was I think that
drive his mouth.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
When he made that catch. Yeah, that was the fin
I said, oh fun, and I said they could lose
this game, yep, because.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
That got him down to I thought they thirty or yeah,
I thought they did. And I was not then worried
at all about that game until that.
Speaker 4 (17:58):
One and then he completed another pass because I guess
they got a first down after that, and I'm like,
my god, I mean Jalen Carter sailing.
Speaker 5 (18:04):
Carter saved the game because I think it was dan
Orlowski ran that tape back.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
The center turn the other way.
Speaker 5 (18:11):
Yeah, Stafford had a guy open in the middle of
the field. I don't know if it would have been
a touchdown, but it would have got him within the
five yard line. Jalen Carter disrupted that play ultimately disrupted
the final play of the game.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
Uh, he saved. He said this season he.
Speaker 4 (18:26):
Played all but three or four snaps because they've lost
their rotation.
Speaker 5 (18:30):
Okay, so he was gay they were a little gassed. Okay, Well,
Dobens run thirteen seconds off.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
The Commanders this week, and their guard's out, their right guard,
their best lineman is out.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
That's no nobody's talking about that.
Speaker 4 (18:44):
But okay, big, you've got to stop Jalen Carter h
because he's the one guy on the line right now.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
I know that a couple other guys are playing well,
Smith's playing well.
Speaker 4 (18:53):
I get all that, Jess what, but you have to
account for Jalen Carter because right now he's one of
the best defense lineman in the league.
Speaker 6 (19:02):
He just is.
Speaker 5 (19:03):
Yeah, and if you if you let Jalen Carter beat you,
that's bad. If you let somebody else beat you, okay,
that's fun. But you got to cover the best player
on that defensive line.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
So you can't.
Speaker 4 (19:15):
You can't let Sae Kwon Barkley beat you. Think if
AJ Brown beat you, a J Brown beat you.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
I will say for the for the most part that
Jalen Carter was getting double teams. The Rams did that
last game, double team them like almost every play this game,
double team them over almost like every well, the zero
team them on that side. The guy still was like unbelievable.
Jalen Carter Is. It is no way nobody's Aaron Donald.
So like it's a losing game to compare anybody to
(19:40):
Aaron Donald. But it's it's one of the more dominant
defensive linemen we've seen.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
Probably got him with the ninth pick, ninth pick because he's.
Speaker 4 (19:48):
They got Noland Smith in the same draft, Dold Smith.
I think it's been very good for them. Didn't they
get Davonte with the tenth pick that one year? I
think it was the tenth pick Davonte Smith?
Speaker 8 (20:00):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (20:00):
I think.
Speaker 3 (20:03):
No, I think there was. He was a tenth pick.
I mean, look, you get guys like that that late
in the draft.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
My god, Yeah, guys in the draft like that. They're
also getting free agents that he's Yeah.
Speaker 6 (20:16):
John a couple of things from me. Look, Mike just
said you can't let uh Barkley beat you, and Barkley's
gonna be it. It doesn't matter what they well, yeah,
it's irrelevant. It's it's And it's the same thing with
the Rams. You think they didn't say that. Here's the problem.
All these teams make the same mistake. They go, Hey,
why don't we put eight guys in the bucks. We
(20:38):
won't let Barkley score. Okay, great, guess what happens if
he gets fast your eight? He just scored. Idiots, complete morons.
There's nobody in the back end to tackle this guy
just and each team keeps doing it. I don't doubt
that Washington will try to do the same thing because
that's what they did effectively in the second half when
Hurts was out and they didn't have any running threat
at quarterback. So they'll probably do that again. But nobody
(20:59):
has stopped this guy. It's not happening. He's the best
player in football in my opinion. I know he won't
get it because it's a quarterback award, that's fine, but
I think he's the best guy out there. Kyle, we
need a selection from you in the Eagles game Eagles
minus six over the Commanders.
Speaker 5 (21:18):
Yeah, And I just want to go back to what
you just said about Jalen Hurts in the running game.
I was kind of questioning in the second half, the
third quarter before Jalen Hurts had the injury. And I
haven't said this all year, but I was saying it
during this game because it was working.
Speaker 2 (21:35):
The QB.
Speaker 5 (21:37):
Designed run was working to a t in that first half.
He was getting at least eight yards of carry guard. Yeah,
and then they steered away from it. They didn't even
try it in the third quarter, and then ultimately Jalen
Hurts got hurt and you know, so on and so forth.
But I would have liked to see that more because
then they steered away from that and the offense kind
(21:58):
of went staged in a little bit.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
But it doesn't matter. They won. Looking at today or tomorrow, Eagles.
Speaker 5 (22:06):
Minus six, somebody tell me why you would take Washington
in this game unless it would be a back door cover.
I mean, the Eagles are better than ninety percent of
the facets of the game unless it's a back door.
We saw what happened last week. The Eagles had that
game one. Ultimately, it came down to the final plays
and it ended up being a push or you know,
a back door cover wherever wherever you got the line from.
(22:29):
I think the Eagles should roll here. Jaden Daniels is
the only worry I have because the Washington defense stinks ultimately,
and like John Janssen said that, they they rely on
turnovers and that's exactly what Detroit gave them last week.
So they thrived off of that. The Eagles don't turn
(22:51):
the ball over. If the Eagles have a clean game,
like they have all year, that's the recipe to win,
and especially against a mediocre and subpar defense in Washington.
Speaker 6 (22:59):
I don't think how many Turner was the Detroit have five?
Speaker 2 (23:04):
Yeah, yeah, Jared Goff was Yeah.
Speaker 6 (23:06):
Thoff was horrible. Yeah he was. He was horrible. He was.
He was the reason they lost because I was saying
to Mike during the game, even though they couldn't stop Washington,
I didn't think Washington was ever going to stop Detroit.
The problem was Detroit stopped Detroit.
Speaker 5 (23:18):
They kept giving the ball, tried to get all QT
down by ten points, and then yeah, what are you doing?
And Williams has an interception in the game, then you
really have this.
Speaker 4 (23:27):
Because that was a game they couldn't lose. It's almost
like I'm not saying the same thing's gonna happen. I
don't mean it this way, but it's the same position
the Eagles are in this week. Detroit couldn't lose that game.
They you know, they had beaten.
Speaker 6 (23:39):
Like I disagree, I completely I completely disagree. What do
you mean Detroit? Detroit was one hundred percent the team
to be everything right, they're there. The Eagles don't are
not in that situation. I don't think it's a reason.
Well that's what you said.
Speaker 4 (23:54):
Well what I'm what I What I mean is Detroit
had beat the Vikings two weeks before.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
They looked great, don't it. This was their year.
Speaker 4 (24:01):
This was like, you know, so when the Washington's coming
in there, it's just the game. If you're the Lions,
that's the game. Like, you can't lose if you lose
to the Eagles this week. Okay, people, all I'm saying
is that the Eagles, in their own way, if they
they shouldn't lose this game. They're home, they're playing a
team that everybody here is saying they're better than. Okay,
(24:21):
I'm just saying, you guys have all said you're all
gonna take the Eagles.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
That's fine. The Eagles can't lose this game. And again, yeah, I.
Speaker 6 (24:29):
Don't look at it the same miss Detroit, Detroit. Detroit was.
Detroit was just an overwhelming from the get go. They
were the team to beat from the start of the season.
The Eagles were not. The Eagles got better over the season.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
Detroit, I think, and what happened to troight afterwards is
kind of what we expected, is this is the last
big push they can make with the current staff the
way it is and everything. They just lost their two. Yeah,
they lost they lost Bet Johnson, Like they kind of knew.
This was a push in like all in for this year,
and the always just feel like, you know, every year
(25:03):
is okay, you still want to get there, and it's
devastating either way, but there's always a solid foundation with
the Eagles that like everything could change in still Howard
Roseman and and the Eagles have built themselves such a
good roster that they can they compete for years a year.
Speaker 4 (25:17):
Understand what you're saying. I get that at this point, Well,
we're just gonna do it next year or a year
after No, no, no, no no. And you're playing a
team in your division. If Jayden Daniels is what we
think Jayden Daniels might be, he's in your division, you're
gonna be playing him every single year. Maybe they're gonna
be the good team. I don't notice, Like if we're
(25:37):
sitting here two years from now, maybe the Commanders are
the good team and the Eagles.
Speaker 5 (25:41):
Are the team chasing there. I know, Well, let's go
back to what you said, my current who did the
Eagles want to play in the first round the championship?
Speaker 4 (25:48):
So if God forbid they were to lose, this game's
at the end of the world.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
I mean, I'm not right. They're gonna come back next
year and they're gonna be good.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
But this might be the the the clearest path. This
is you get where you want to be.
Speaker 4 (25:59):
If you would say, you know, they've they've had. They
got the home game that nobody thought they were going
to get. They thought we were gonna have to.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
Go to Detroit. Okay, fine, you're not going to Detroit.
It's here. You win the game again. You shouldn't lose
to this team.
Speaker 2 (26:13):
And I know what you're saying. I get. I guess
for me that's interesting is I don't I don't know
if there is that pressure on the legles or or
if it feels that way like they're talking, don't.
Speaker 4 (26:23):
Mean that they feel the pressure talking about like just
when you look at it. That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
From my perspective, I think Detroit felt pressure. There was pressure.
There was there was they had to win, and everybody's
you know how the pressure gets worse. Here's how the
pressure gets worse. If when Washington was up like uh
oh twenty one seventeen, then all of a sudden, if
the Eagles wet tomorrow and they gotten off the slow start,
but lately they have, they've been better. If the Eagles
(26:48):
are leading at halftime, I don't think Washington's coming back
and beating them. But if Washington gets out maybe a
couple of fluky plays, what what have you, and all
of a sudden you get into the third quarter and
it's like, okay, we could win.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
That's all I'm saying. The people in that stadium, and
you know it.
Speaker 4 (27:05):
Was like last week when the Rams were driving down
the field. I'll bet you you could you know hear
a pin drop at the link. That's all I'm saying.
I know Philadelphia, like I'm just telling you.
Speaker 5 (27:14):
And also I know, I know a year is a
long time, but if the Eagles were to lose tomorrow
and everybody comes back next year, because ultimately you have
the recipe to win, and you lose tomorrow, what is
the confidence level that you're gonna be able to get
to this spoty start?
Speaker 3 (27:29):
You start zero zero, you start, it's everything.
Speaker 5 (27:31):
It's like this year, what do you the same thing
with the Phillies people exactly the Phillies. So you're you're
gonna run it back and and and just and hope
that it Well, no, no, I don't make champ.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
But what I'm saying is it's like last year. Everybody's like,
how's last year gonna affect us? Okay, you're zero.
Speaker 5 (27:44):
Zero, but they but they made significant changes after in
the off season.
Speaker 6 (27:49):
It's it's Mike, make a before we get the break.
Speaker 4 (27:53):
I'm gonna take Washington because I think it could be,
like you said to me first thing, live underdog, and
I think they are.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
Would I be.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
Surprised if if the Eagles lost, Yes, I'm not shocked,
but I'd be surprised.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
And if the Eagles play there again. And again we're
not even talking about the quarterback. The quarterback we don't
know what he is. We don't know if Cam Jurgens
is playing them all out. We think he's going to play, but.
Speaker 4 (28:19):
Again, the guy's got a bad back and didn't practice
to I'm just saying, if Jalen Hurts is like seventy
five percent and maybe takes a shot earlier, whatever, he
can't hand them. He can't fake the handoff to Saquon.
That changes things, and everybody's like kind of just on
the well, you know, nobody's like talking about that. He's
your leader. We saw what they look like with Kenny Pickens.
(28:41):
No picket or whatever.
Speaker 2 (28:42):
I think you gotta start.
Speaker 6 (28:45):
My favorite thing, but my favorite thing that my man
Mike Current says every week is after he talks about
something for a minute, nobody's talking about that. You're talking
about No.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
We didn't talk about the quarterback.
Speaker 6 (28:58):
He did, trust me, my people, people are talking about it.
But I love it anyway, It's awesome.
Speaker 5 (29:04):
We need By the way, Goddard will definitely play on Sunday.
Jurgens is still let question. Will both participated yesterday and practice?
Speaker 6 (29:13):
What was the matter with Goddard? What did I miss?
Speaker 3 (29:15):
He missed a couple of days of practice.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
To ankle injury.
Speaker 6 (29:18):
He has a couple of days.
Speaker 4 (29:19):
He's always hard, He's always got something in you know,
just limp to the finish line whatever you have to.
There's no way that Goddard wasn't. His leg would have
to be off for god or to show he's a
He's that kind of guy.
Speaker 6 (29:32):
We're got we gotta break. We got my Current top
of the hour. They're done Tory Piste the final round today.
Speaker 3 (29:38):
Yeah we're not.
Speaker 4 (29:38):
We're we'll we'll talk about but I forgot this tournament
ends today because of the games.
Speaker 6 (29:44):
Well, yeah, they don't want to go up again.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
Blood Thig is a little bit in it, kind of
sort of maybe.
Speaker 6 (29:50):
Yeah. And the and the Super Bowl week tournament that
was going to be in l A has been moved
to Tory Pots a couple of weeks.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
Yes, we thought might, I mean that makes sense.
Speaker 6 (30:00):

Call one eight hundred. Gambler John Jansen here with Mike
Current and Kyle Nunnemaker Dictorarti joining us on the phone
in Iowa City. So we talked a lot about the
Eagles Washington game. I don't know if there's anything more there, Dictorardi,
that you want to go to other than there was
an ESPN story that came out a couple of hours
(31:34):
ago saying that sources Dan Snyder hates Commander's success. So
there's another that's incredible. How play into the gameplay tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (31:46):
Dan David Aldridge wrote a piso in The Athletic with
Josh Harris the other day. I don't know if you
guys saw it, but just talking about what it's going
to be like for him tomorrow and how fans will
react to him. I guess the fans will not react
react well to the Commanders, Dick.
Speaker 5 (32:04):
I was full on kidding last week, and I couldn't
stop thinking about this all week. How I was talking
about seeing Josh Harrison parade on the eagle side or
on the sidelines tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (32:17):
If the Commanders somehow win this game and he is
up on the podium accepting the I'm telling you will
be gone by then, I mean they'll be gone. And
again I mean, and you gotta put this in proper context.
This franchise was a great franchise back in the eighty
(32:38):
with Joe Gibbs, and they were They won three Super
Bowls and nine and made four Super Bowls with three
different quarterbacks. They've been what directed the Earth basically for
last two decades pretty much.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
They had Archie three for a year and now.
Speaker 4 (32:56):
And and and they're doing it with a guy Dan
Quinn who was with Dallas and you know, it's just
the story. If we weren't Philadelphia's, if Josh hash did
Josh Howers didn't own the Sixers, we would probably not
care that Josh Harris was the owner.
Speaker 3 (33:11):
And by the way, did you see did you see
your sickers last night?
Speaker 6 (33:15):
I did, Man, they were on their way the plane that.
Speaker 3 (33:20):
Paul showed up.
Speaker 8 (33:21):
It was.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
I think, you know what, twenty one threes?
Speaker 6 (33:27):
Keviler's had twenty one threes and lost. Impossible, but yeah
they could for them. They they're two and eight their
last time, they're on a row.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
But focus on that too.
Speaker 6 (33:38):
Yeah, youah, there's there's that. Yeah, I think we're good
with the with that game, John, I don't. I don't
have anything else other.
Speaker 2 (33:43):
Than to man, that Jacksonville owner sure knows what he's doing.
Clown show out of that, not at all.
Speaker 6 (33:53):
How about these hirings. So Pete Carroll of Vegas the
offensive coordinator and to the to the Cowboy, the Tampa
offensive coordinator, to Jacksonville, Uh, you knew, Ben Jackson and
Eric Line. We're getting jobs. That's fine. They've been where
they're going. We'll see about that. But yeah, the Cowboys
thing is really bizarre.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
But my favorite part of that whole thing is did
you see the quote that came out that Jerry Jones
fired off to Adam Schefter about the hiring of Brian
Schotttheimer said, he said, Brian Schottenheimer is known as a
career assistant. He ain't Brian no more. He is now
known as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. This
(34:34):
makes a career as makes so much sense Jerry.
Speaker 4 (34:40):
Ever since Bill Parcells, who was like that for two
years ago, Jerry has hired every coach who isn't going
to outshine.
Speaker 3 (34:47):
That's why he was never going to hire Dean signed Sanderson.
Speaker 4 (34:50):
Yeah, was probably the one guy that could have stood
up to Jerry and say, hey, you know whatever, Jerry
wants to be the guy to interviewing when they come
off the field.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
This makes perfect sense for Dallas. And you know what
this just means.
Speaker 4 (35:02):
And I know nothing about Brian Schetenheimer except his dad.
It was a great coach. All I know is this
the Cowboys. Like five years from now, we will be
sitting here saying they're the same Cowboys. They'll win ten,
eleven or twelve games one year or two years, losing
the playoffs and and they'll be the same Cowboys who
are like ninety million over the cap and have to
sign Parsons.
Speaker 2 (35:23):
Oh my gosh, Troty, this this hiring got even better.
You're gonna love this one. You're gonna love this one.
So hired to the Cowboys staff with whe Ryan Shots,
the head coach. The Cowboys have hired Matt eber Flew,
says their defensive coordinator, head coach of the Chicago Bears.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
Of course fears he might be but he might be
a good cordinator.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
I know would love it because he might he might.
Speaker 3 (35:51):
But this is Dallas. This is what Dallas does.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
And then they wonder, this is great, great, incredible theater.
Speaker 3 (36:02):
I thought you Jason Garrett who got hired as coordinator.
Speaker 6 (36:06):
My godowns.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
And then on your division you got the Giants and
Cowboys in your division.
Speaker 6 (36:14):
Yeah, yeah, nice on uh that Parks at the moment
has Kansas City minus two was minus one and a
half this morning over Buffalo. Kansas City. Seven straight AFC
title games, ridiculous, all but one of them. I think
we're at home. Is that sound right? Last year they
had to go on the road, the rest of them
(36:34):
in Kansas City, and I don't know who they lose to,
the aust the Cincinnati once in Tampa. Is that those
two teams they lost him in the playoffs. The Tampa
beat him in the Super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (36:46):
They've lost twice in this game to Joe Burrow overtime
and to Tom Brady in overtime.
Speaker 6 (36:55):
Oh Tom Brady ruso in New England. That's right, Okay, okay,
beat him, beat him in the Super John. Let's start
with you, Kansas City minus too, Buffalo. What do you think?
Speaker 2 (37:05):
I love that everybody loves Buffalo. I just I understand
the Buffalo thing and Buffalo maybe a lot of the
changes that they made offensively because they're not as pass happy.
There a running team, they like to play a fishing
they're not as much into big plays, but they'll get
it from Josh Allen when they need it. And that
all is reminiscent of Kansas City right now and what
(37:25):
they've been for the past couple of seasons. So maybe
they are equipped to handle it. But I think the
problem is Kansas City just doesn't better, and Kansas City
is better. So I love it. I understand all of
the Buffalo love, and not to say Buffalo can't win it.
But I am going to take Kansas City as a
less than a field goal favorite at home when they've
(37:47):
been in this game and won this game numerous times,
and at this point still winning a bunch of football games.
So I'm going to take Kansas City until proven otherwise.
Speaker 4 (37:57):
Mike, Yeah, I'm in total aggression. Last year and I said,
you know, I heard this week Kansas City is vulnerable.
I heard a couple of people vulnerable. They've lost one
game since last Christmas. Not this Christmas, last Christmas. Last
year in the playoffs, I said, took them against Buffalo.
(38:19):
We took them whatever. I didn't know if they were
I had no idea last week. By the way, Dick,
your team, your team is better than Buffalo. I mean,
how do they lose those games? I know, it's just
I don't get it. I don't get it, but I
don't Kansas City might lose this game, they might lose
the net, they might. I am taking Kansas City somebody,
(38:40):
and I'm rooting for Josh Allen because I like Josh Allen.
Speaker 3 (38:43):
I really I like the coach. I got a little
bit of Kansas City fatigue, but that's okay. They're great.
But I'm taking Kansas City. You're giving me Kansas City
basically has to win a game at home in this spot.
I'll take much sh to get to the super Yeah, Kyle.
Speaker 5 (39:04):
Yeah, there's no way. Nothing know, something funky doesn't happen
coming down. Uh at the end of this game tomorrow,
most likely in Kansas City's favor. It's a conspiracy, no,
but you know that if something's gonna go off in
this game, that's gonna be controversial. I don't know which
way is gonna go, but obviously my heart says Buffalo.
(39:26):
My head says Kansas City, Buffalo without I'm getting distracted
over here.
Speaker 2 (39:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (39:34):
Uh, Buffalo doesn't have the same talent on the offensive
side surrounding Josh Allen that they've had in years past.
It's different, though it's different, it's very different. But with
that Kansas City defense, I think that just comes to
bite them.
Speaker 1 (39:51):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (39:52):
I think Josh Allen does everything in his power to
keep this game alive for Buffalo. I think it's gonna
be a close game single handedly because of Josh Allen
and the magic that he makes. But I think Kansas
City's defense will just ultimately be too much down the
stretch for them, and.
Speaker 2 (40:08):
I think because it is different and Buffalo, I think
it was it was a strategic move to not put
as much into their wide receivers and to the passing
game and goes strictly offense. And I think a good
example of why they wanted to do it was against
Baltimore because Baltimore everything's on Lamar Jackson. And I know
Derek Henry is a big part of that offense, but everything,
(40:28):
especially in that game was on Lamar Jackson, like dropping
him back the entire time, every big play, everything that's
happening in that game has to fall on Lamar Jackson's shoulders. Meanwhile,
Josh Allen's handing the ball off the James Cook the
majority of the time only drop back like twenty four
to five, six twenty yards. He ran the ball a
(40:49):
little bit, which helps. So it was more of a hey,
Josh Allen, would need you to be Josh Allen when
we need it. We don't need it all the time,
because if we do need it all the time, that
means you're probably going to be making mistakes this game
is you know, you're maybe going to throw a turnover.
That's all of the things that I think Kansas City
realized as well, as we can't just rely solely on
the homes to get us out of these games. We
(41:10):
need to be good everywhere else. And I think it's
just different what Buffalo is doing, and I think it
might be the right thing. But can they do it
better than Kansas City is my big question.
Speaker 6 (41:20):
Well, it's fascinating if Kansas City is fascinating to me. Right,
remember when they won their first Super Bowl, they were
the high flying Chiefs, Right, they could score fifty at
any time, Tyreek Hills running down, Nobody could guard them,
and they haven't been that team recently. Look, they put
up a number on the Eagles of the Eagles help
with a turnover for six points in the Super Bowl,
(41:41):
but they don't play like that anymore because they don't
have those kind of players other than quarterback of the
tight end, their wideouts are pretty mediocre.
Speaker 2 (41:50):
It's not lack of effort. With Xavier art interest and
I think they've realized, like they're still their best strength
is defense and they have run the ballmore like I
think they put value in guys like Isaiah Pacheco. So
it's fascinating to see two of maybe the top teams
in the a f C kind of turn into that
we're gonna play smart football, methodical, we're gonna play defense.
(42:15):
I think it's I think it's really interesting that both
teams are to do that questions these like really talented quarterbacks.
Speaker 6 (42:22):
Here's my question for the panel, Mike, you alluded to it, Uh,
Kansas City fatigue. People are starting to look at them
like the Patriots, right, but everybody hated the Patriots by
the right. They were cheating, they were up in the good.
Now the refs are helping Kansas anyway. That's that's that's
the new allegation. Mahomes is trying to draw fouls, he's flopping,
(42:43):
he's doing all this stuff. What are we? What are
we thinking about all that? We'll throw the panel, Michael,
start with you. What were you?
Speaker 4 (42:50):
The funny thing is Buffalo Josh has never lost to
Patrick in the regular season.
Speaker 3 (42:56):
He's like four.
Speaker 4 (42:57):
Oh that one game a couple of years ago was
the controversial game where Kelsey got called for the latter
order or they lined up off side or the reformation
reor so again, Josh Allen has had success.
Speaker 3 (43:08):
I do think Mahomes tries debate and good for him.
You don't.
Speaker 2 (43:13):
I mean Brady, you couldn't touch Brady. You know if
people touch by like Brady didn't have the mobility to
try it.
Speaker 4 (43:19):
Last week the one the one call where the two guys,
defensive guys hit each other.
Speaker 3 (43:24):
They never hit Mahomes, but.
Speaker 4 (43:26):
They got called for the folk And I understand the
refs trying to make it you're out there on the field,
you're doing whatever. But I do I do think Andy
and Mahomes are a little bit more likable than Belichick
and Brady to that degree.
Speaker 6 (43:38):
I don't think.
Speaker 4 (43:40):
I don't think they're arrogant. You know, Belichick and know
that they were arrogant. I mean, and they look they
won six titles. I mean they can be.
Speaker 5 (43:47):
But again, you don't like about Andy and Patrick gets
strictly on the Here's gonna be.
Speaker 4 (43:51):
The interesting thing if they're If the Eagles and the
Chiefs are playing two weeks from now, and Dick you
said this about a month ago, like what would be
the basha think about? You have the the Chiefs going
for the three pat Okay, so it's different than all
the other Super Bowls they've been in because they're doing
history against the team that Andy coached, and I think
a lot of people will be rooting.
Speaker 3 (44:10):
For the Eagles.
Speaker 4 (44:12):
I do just because of the case factor. But I
think some people will be rooting to see history. Some
people won't want to see history, you know, they'll say, hey,
we've had enough. But and I think that's the matchup
that everybody wants to see, as good as a story
as Jayden Daniels would be if he makes it sure
and Josh Allen getting there, I agree, But the Eagles chiefs,
I think is what people want to see. A rematch
(44:35):
from two years ago with you said the Eagles should
have won. The Eagles should have won that game.
Speaker 6 (44:38):
Yeah, they had the better team. They gave the game
away the punt return and the fumble for six points.
I mean to me, they were out of touchdown better
than Kansas City. I thought that on paper, and I
thought in reality, and yeah, it's a chance for a
redo if it comes to that for a team that
has not the entire same team, but almost all the
same players on it for the Eagles, with exception of
(45:00):
some defensive players and the center, I mean, everybody else
was on that team two years ago, right, they got
rid of They changed cornerbacks, actually they got a different
and the running back right, which is changes things for sure.
So look, I think the Eagles are still better than
Kansas City. I thought they were better two years ago,
but they if we get to that game, yeah, that's
(45:22):
the game.
Speaker 2 (45:22):
I think the only team that was better than them
heading into the playoffs, and Detroit was close, like I
thought Detroit because of the way they played against if
they didn't have the injury, yeah, and didn't have the injury, right,
but it was it was Baltimore. Baltimore was the only
one that was like, Okay, they have an offensive defense
that matches how good the Eagles off and the experience.
I don't know if if Kansas City and Buffalo match
(45:42):
it the same way. Because the Eagles have all of
these like stud players on offense and the skill positions
that those guys.
Speaker 4 (45:48):
You could make the argument that Baltimore had the best
team the last two years because they went.
Speaker 2 (45:52):
To Yeah, Baltimore.
Speaker 4 (45:52):
Last year they went to San Francisco on Christmas and
tack two to forty nine ers.
Speaker 2 (45:57):
Yeah, crust them.
Speaker 4 (45:58):
They had the home game against its Chiefs and if
and if the receiver and it just didn't work out,
I don't I.
Speaker 6 (46:04):
Don't you know.
Speaker 2 (46:06):
I guess the interesting thing with with me in terms
of narratives, if it would come to the Eagles and
the Chiefs, uh, you know, obviously the Eagles haven't won
a lot as a franchise. They get the Super Bowl
a few years ago, they get their last or a
couple of years ago, and like, this is a team
that's like getting better and an organization that's sitting better,
and Sony win and get the Super Bowls. But I there,
there is a part of me that's still absolutely fascinated
(46:28):
that we all thought there's no way anybody could get
close to maybe what Brady did and how many Super
Bowls he won and everything he did. And here comes
Patrick Mahomes out of nowhere, and he would already be
like in conversations that Brady wasn't even close to at
this point in his career. And here comes Patrick Arms
and he's there like he's like close to Brady end
(46:49):
career type of stuff. Then Brady eight year, nine years
in discoverer. Brady won a lot of Super bowl with
our coach, right with Andy Reid, but like Patrick Mahomes
could win his fourths super Bowl, by the ways, by
the way, he's not even thirty yet. He's not even
He's been the seventh straight AFC championships. Tom Brady did
that later on in his career.
Speaker 4 (47:08):
Here's the Burrow's not thirty, Lamar's not thirty. The guy
in Buffalo is not thirty. Now all four of those
quarterbacks are in the AFC. Think about that. Only one
of them can get to the Super Bowl every year.
Speaker 2 (47:22):
And it's it's the same thing that happened to Peyton Manning.
Is it's really tough. Is Peyton Manning just couldn't beat
the Patriots And he did once. He did once and
he got a Super Bowl, and credit to him, but
he just couldn't beat the Patriots. And that's the thing.
Could Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson cannot beat Kansas City? They
just can't do it.
Speaker 6 (47:40):
The Ravens, Yeah, the Ravens. I don't get it. I mean,
it's the same game every year. They end up Lamartha
is a ridiculous pick, a bad fumble, Andrews fumbles the
ball in the middle of the field, they drop a
two point conversion. It's just it's bizarre, and it happens
like you can just set your clock to it until
(48:02):
they do it.
Speaker 2 (48:05):
Those turnovers and the funny almost after they lost.
Speaker 3 (48:10):
Yeah, if they lost that game to the Steelers, and
then the rest of the season they played great.
Speaker 4 (48:16):
They were like and so last week they have the
one driver where they give the ball to the running back,
they go right down the field.
Speaker 3 (48:23):
Why didn't they keep giving the ball to the running back?
Speaker 6 (48:27):
They ran down You didn't get a chance to see
the game, Michau, of course because you were at the Vets. Sadly, Yeah,
they ran down the field. They ran down the field
the first series. You go, that's it so over. They're
going to blow the steam ask and they blown them
out earlier they killed Buffalo. They had third players and
Buffalo almost played the game like, you know what, We're
just gonna stay in the game because they're probably going
(48:47):
to find a way to lose it. And that's exactly what.
Speaker 5 (48:51):
And for Baltimore, who doesn't has not turned the ball
over all season all su all, all of a sudden,
just get sloppy with the ball.
Speaker 6 (49:00):
Yeah, just crazy. Yeah, Lamar through four picks all year.
That first pick, it was like you forgot they had
a safety. It was just it was just weird.
Speaker 2 (49:11):
And the worst one of the weirdest one was the fumble.
I mean, he was just a no man, what are
you doing? You just what do you play? Has to
die at some point and he just didn't.
Speaker 6 (49:20):
The biggest such a great player, it's just weird.
Speaker 4 (49:25):
Oh god, he's gonna win. He's probably gonna win his
third m v P. But we talked about the Eagles
are in a window, right, the window might last. Washington
maybe could be starting some kind of They're not in
a window yet because the guys are the But look
at the teams in the a f C. Because of
the Chiefs, their windows are all I mean, the Bengals
(49:45):
didn't even make the playoffs for crying out that.
Speaker 3 (49:48):
The Ravens, you know, you were the best team in
football the last two years.
Speaker 6 (49:53):
Sports all the time, like it's weird, right, I mean
John just mentioned the Colts never the team to shut
up be you could never get there because of the Patriots.
But what happened in basketball? How many teams did Michael
Jordan just kill in his time? Right? The Sixers were good?
Then you're right good. Sorry you lose, You're out. I'm
(50:14):
crushing you.
Speaker 4 (50:16):
Like the Phillies and we're gonna be talking about the
Phillies in a month or so whatever they're with.
Speaker 3 (50:21):
This is their fourth year now that they will have
these pretty much his team. The Dodgers just went out
and spend like three hundred million dollars. The Braves just
went out and signed a couple of guys. I mean, yeah,
or the Phillies gonna be good this year.
Speaker 4 (50:33):
Sure, but when you get when you get windows, like
you know, they had their They had their opportunities against
the Diamondbacks to get back to the World Series. They
had the opportunity against the Astros that coach. I mean,
those opportunities, well you sit there, Oh, well we'll get more. No,
sometimes you don't.
Speaker 6 (50:47):
It's it's like, yeah, you know, yeah, that's strange.
Speaker 5 (50:52):
We're living in the glory age here in Philadelphia, just
because not because the championships won, but just the opportunities
that the Philadelphia teams have had had in these recent Yeah.
Speaker 2 (51:02):
I feel like people are taking them for granted.
Speaker 6 (51:04):
Now. Yeah, and next week, next couple of weeks, if
the Eagles get there, Uh, we'll have that. Mike. That
my current conversation. What's the number, Mike two and eleven,
two and twelve.
Speaker 4 (51:14):
If you count the Union, and I think we have
to count the union. But if you don't want to
count people and it's eleven people and something, Hey, Dick,
you know what another team that did get the people too,
when the Warriors were really the Warriors.
Speaker 3 (51:30):
Sure, nobody's coming out of the West.
Speaker 2 (51:32):
Right, I mean you could think about, well, Kevin, like
James Hardens and Russell Westwood, the Oklahoma City team you had.
The Houston teams had no chance.
Speaker 6 (51:41):
Yep. Yeah, yeah, they just weren't gonna be them. They
were they were too good. Uh we uh, we're gonna
have some mic on golf. Uh you know what, I'm
gonna bring up the baby back end of the show. Yeah,
now we're gonna a little We're having you on golf.
Whether you want to have it. Okay, you're you're making it.
You're making a pick with one round again, you'll get it.
Theming we have, we have faith in you and the
(52:01):
Farmers Insurance open. I know, I know you're big on
that Tory Pines in La Joya for people don't know where.
They're just north of San Diego, right on the Pacificate,
one of the great venues. Yes it is, Yeah, we
have that. Uh, we I have not made an official
pick in a Kansas City game, but I'm gonna make
it unanimous. I'm with Mike un till somebody beats this
(52:22):
guy and this team that they're winning.
Speaker 4 (52:26):
I'm telling you right now, I'm rooting for Buffalo I am.
I'm rooting for Josh Allen I'm not, and the coach
everybody I am. But I again, as a better you know,
if you're you're show me, you know, just just show
me that you're gonna beat me. And they're gonna get
beat some time. They're not gonna win every single game
(52:48):
they play, but they wouldn't. Yeah, and for that reason alone,
I think this line should have been three or three
and a half.
Speaker 2 (52:56):
I really don't.
Speaker 6 (52:58):
I was surprised they're basically saying bumm blows the better
team when it's a minus.
Speaker 3 (53:01):
Well that's what.
Speaker 6 (53:03):
Yes, I don't know why they're saying that doesn't make
any sense to me, but we shall see about that.
So we have a little golf. The Sixers with the
Game of the Year last year, they're on their way
clearly to the Eastern Conference finals, assuming they'd get into
the playoff. If they can get there, I like their
chances and I'm going to bring up another Well, yeah,
(53:23):
I'll be back soon. I'm gonna bring up another sore
subject here, Mike. This is in the history of Philadelphia
college basket there was never a year the Big Five.
It never had a year where they went two in
a row and had an NCAA team. Well, guess what
make it three? We're heading that way going over lost
(53:43):
a Marquette last night. They're down a twelve and nine.
It does not look like it's going to happen for
the Wildcats any of the other squads. And Temple's having
a pretty good year. Any of the other teams are
going to have to win their league tournament, and I
don't know if that's going to happen. So well, we'll
discuss that. I got it. There's a couple of great
college basketball games on the slate to night, which we
will chat about as well. Involve abur and matchups they
(54:07):
do Auburn Tennessee and Houston and Kansas. Like, you need
to look this up during the break because you're good
at finding this kind of stuff. Houston is favored at
Allen Fields. When was the last this was a home underdog?
That never happens?
Speaker 8 (54:24):
Wow?
Speaker 6 (54:25):
Wow, beth Parks. You think of it my.
Speaker 3 (54:30):
Right, I mean that more of a is that more
of a Kansas.
Speaker 6 (54:33):
Or thing, a little bit of a Kansas thing. But
Houston is really good. They played the best defense in
the country. They got Actually, they actually have a couple
of guys who can make a shot this year, which
is interesting. They are now minus one and a half
at Beth Park's Auburn minus five and a half over
Tennessee with Indy Bruce Pearl versus Bruce Pearl Game used
to coach at Tennessee at Auburn, so.
Speaker 3 (54:54):
That'll be his player bracket. He's still out, okay.
Speaker 6 (55:01):
As far as I know, he's not back yet. But
we'll discuss all that and we'll get it. We'll talk more.
He goes obviously be the final hour of the Sports Here,
There and Everywhere. But before we do that, I need
to tell everybody about this. As always, we are here
every Saturday morning from nine to eleven, and it doesn't
get any better than Sports Here, There and Everywhere. And

That's it's warmer than outside out there, Kyle, not a maker.
(57:10):
My name is John Janssen. We also have Dic Girardi
joining us on the phone as well in nice and
warm Iowa City. What is that? What is the temperature there?
I know our guys on the Villain of a sports
radio network, Ryan Fannon and Whitey Risby were in Wisconsin
and Wisconsin was I think in the felt likes the negatives.
So what is Iowa City dictorary?
Speaker 6 (57:31):
Yeah, I've been here since Thursday evening. Brutal out here,
like it wasn't home. Yeah, I mean like we're staying
in dwnpad, Iowa City. We're actually here. Last year towards
the end of the season, I believe it or not,
I was seventy five degrees during the day. I was
walking around the short but yeah, but by the time
we left it was twenty five. Welcome to Iowa City.
(57:54):
So yeah, it's it's really cold out here, but it
sounds like it's warmed up all the way into the thirties.
Speaker 1 (58:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (58:04):
Actually I walked. I had to walk up standing one
of these graduate hotels by Hilton, but they don't have
the computer I need, so I had to walk to
the Hilton Garden in which was print some stuff, which
is two blocks away. That's as far as I've gone, Kyle,
two blocks.
Speaker 2 (58:18):
All over again.
Speaker 6 (58:20):
Yeah, it's it's rough at here. But yeah, I saw
the last night at Carver Hawk. I hadn't been here
since or I don't think I put it up. But
they had the on the court they had where the
Capelin Clark shot was to set the NCAA scoring record
for women, a three pointer. It was about fifteen feet
(58:41):
of three point five. It was pretty It was pretty funny.
I think they're retiring her jersey in a week or
so at it.
Speaker 4 (58:48):
But yeah, she's a big Chiefs fan, no chief fan, right,
and people were, Yeah, somebody was getting on her about that,
like this week. It might have been Mad Dog Russo
and I'm like, no, that was Kansas, the closest team exactly.
He's like, yes, people open their mouths, and I'm guilty
(59:14):
of this sometimes, but before people have up their mouths,
just like try to get the facts sort of right
before you know you're fat.
Speaker 6 (59:21):
We can't have facts.
Speaker 3 (59:22):
I know we got we got a fact.
Speaker 6 (59:26):
Yeah, it's a fact for you.
Speaker 4 (59:28):
Nineteen eighty nine, Kansas was an underdog at home to
number one Oklahoma.
Speaker 6 (59:33):
Okay, and that's that's been the last time. Wow, hella, it.
Speaker 3 (59:46):
Doesn't happen often. Let's put it that way.
Speaker 6 (59:50):
That's crazy.
Speaker 3 (59:52):
Yeah, well it's it's the Allen Fieldhouse.
Speaker 6 (59:54):
Yes, greatest, the greatest fans in college sports. I love
I love them games. All right, Mike, what do we got?
What do we got in golf this week? I know
it's round four four.
Speaker 4 (01:00:06):
I actually I actually forgot because I wasn't even paying
attentional Thursday.
Speaker 3 (01:00:10):
Uh, I know it was. It was a tough week. Harris. Yeah,
Harnglish is leading at but one, and but the rest of.
Speaker 4 (01:00:21):
The guys at the top of the leaderboard you wouldn't
know because I don't know him. Two guys yesterday he's
five back. No, he's five back, but he's only fourteen
to one. He's the fourth favorite. And that's what you
do with this because they know that you're gonna pick
guys who are like the cowboys a decade. Matamo is
(01:00:45):
also five back, he's thirty five to one. He won
the show already. And Jason Day, who actually has been
playing well by the way I had. But the two
guys I gave you last week tied for second.
Speaker 6 (01:00:57):
But that don't get it.
Speaker 5 (01:00:58):
You're in play some the guy I have this week's
tied for fifty seventh. So but I mean free to
tail me next week.
Speaker 4 (01:01:06):
I mean, if I was going to if I was
going to take a shot on Ludvy at fourteen, I
would also take a little shot on Matchiyama with thirty
five if you if you're going to do that, you.
Speaker 2 (01:01:15):
Know, because they're five or six back, but there's not
that many.
Speaker 3 (01:01:19):
Scotty Scheffler is playing next week.
Speaker 4 (01:01:23):
It's going to be the first time since he cut
his hand on Christmas, so we'll see what if he's
Scottie Scheffler, you know.
Speaker 6 (01:01:32):
And we mentioned this earlier in a couple of weeks.
It was the Genesis, which is always at Riviera Country Club,
which is right in Pacific Palisades. It was obviously they
were going to have to move it, and they moved
it to the same venue they're using this week, which
makes sense, right, They're already set up for a PGH
to our event. Be hard to start one wasn't ready
for it. Yeah, yeah, that was the only thing they
(01:01:53):
could do.
Speaker 3 (01:01:55):
You know, it was your dad, or go back to
the go back down to Palm Springs. It was going
to be one. If they have it set up, just
keep it there. So they're gonna play two tournaments back
to back, Dick, is that there's going.
Speaker 6 (01:02:07):
To be I think I think they have another one.
I think there's another one next week at a different
venue in California. Okay, Okay, Keble Beach is next week,
Yebble Beach.
Speaker 4 (01:02:17):
Yeah, they're just going to leave all the infrastructure up.
I would imagine it just.
Speaker 6 (01:02:21):
Makes perfect sense. Just go back to San Diego. You're
not gonna have You're not gonna any issues stand there.
Speaker 4 (01:02:26):
Uh So a lot of people do want to People
that want to play the course in the meantime might
be upset, but that's.
Speaker 6 (01:02:31):
Whether that problem. But don't don't get over Yeah, they'll
have to get over. So let's talk a little Sixers.
They beat the Cavaliers last night after the long, unsuccessful
as predicted road trip where they win a game. Uh,
they beat the Cavaliers in a wild game. I didn't
see it last night. Obviously, I was doing a game.
I'm out here and I do cis stay that Iowa
(01:02:51):
forgot John who's there? So yeah, I'm not going to
ask you, Kyle. Uh who saw the game?
Speaker 3 (01:02:58):
Well, I will let you know.
Speaker 6 (01:03:00):
I will.
Speaker 3 (01:03:00):
I will let you know I was paying attention to it,
but I will.
Speaker 2 (01:03:03):
I was so starting the game.
Speaker 5 (01:03:06):
It was Maxi, Eric Gordon, Kelly Ubray, Paul George and
uh yea say Saley, I still be selling.
Speaker 6 (01:03:13):
I still don't have it. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:03:15):
The reason the Sixers won the game was because they
shot fifty four percent from three.
Speaker 2 (01:03:22):
That's not gonna happen very often.
Speaker 6 (01:03:24):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (01:03:25):
Cleveland actually shot forty eight percent from three. So it
was a shootout. Sixers shot the lights out. It's not
gonna happen night in a night out. They're gonna have
these fluky games that they win like that. Paul George
had thirty, Maxy had twenty nine.
Speaker 3 (01:03:38):
He'll shoot out the next two games.
Speaker 2 (01:03:40):
Yeah, Paul George is out in definitely. Yeah, Ultimately, it
just to me is like a really fun game in
a bad season.
Speaker 3 (01:03:47):
I'm gonna exactly, I'm gonna sum it up in three
words for four words. Actually, it's it's the NBA. It's
just it's it just is and you can't we haven't.
Speaker 4 (01:03:56):
Heard now think about this now one word about Joe Like,
there's no updates, there's no this, there's no I mean,
it's been like a week and a half person.
Speaker 5 (01:04:06):
Or yeah, I mean this time last week we were
talking about how he substituted his foot injury with the
knee swelling.
Speaker 4 (01:04:13):
And by the way, Kyle Lowry you did correctly has
pointed out about is old and slow and whatever. Hasn't played.
He's got a back, he doesn't even play. Why why
do you sign these old guys?
Speaker 6 (01:04:26):
Well that's what they did. They went out and signed
every Yeah, Paul George, tryan, But yeah, it was fun,
a fun night and a bad season. They actually put
ESPN on the crawl. They described the Sixers as the
lowly sixers.
Speaker 3 (01:04:44):
Are they wrong?
Speaker 6 (01:04:46):
The lowly sixers upset upset the number one?
Speaker 3 (01:04:50):
Are you serious that was on the crawl.
Speaker 6 (01:04:52):
Yeah, yeah, that's what it's come through two games out
of the play in. But enough of that, that's their
annual sixers. Uh, Mike, let's talk some college to Jill.
I was on the station. We've talked about how you know,
we'd love to see them do well. I know Kyle
Nepton a little bit, I know the assistant coaches really well. All. Uh,
(01:05:14):
and it's just after that Georgetown fiasco on Monday, Uh,
when they had what a twelve point lead with like
six to go and never scored another point, you kind
of felt like you kind of felt like the season
was over right. I mean, they lost the Marquette predictably
last night at Milwaukee, John, I mean, they're on our
ear Mike, What what are you guys thinking here? Is
(01:05:37):
this is not gonna end well?
Speaker 3 (01:05:39):
Well at the moment, It's funny.
Speaker 4 (01:05:42):
We were looking at the schedule if I can call
it a schedule if here and I can't find it
real quick. They actually have and I don't know what
they would need to do to get obviously, are gonna
have to win a lot of games.
Speaker 3 (01:05:54):
They get they get mar Kett.
Speaker 4 (01:05:56):
At home at some point where you one figure they're
going to win at they go to n which you
one figured are.
Speaker 3 (01:06:01):
Gonna win that.
Speaker 4 (01:06:02):
They got to go to Providence and Providence almost beaten
here John Saint John's coming in, but they played Saint
John's pretty tough. UFP Bear Creton is coming in, uh,
and then they got the rest of their games are
like the Paul Georgetown. But again they're not above losing
(01:06:23):
one of those games or something, you know, I mean,
I just think it's going to have a bad end.
It's it's and yeah, some of my friends asked me
last night, he said, you know, Mike, why you know
why all of a sudden there's the Big Five?
Speaker 3 (01:06:34):
I said, who whoa who who?
Speaker 6 (01:06:35):
What?
Speaker 4 (01:06:36):
Penn's been to one NC Double A tournament in seventeen
or eighteen years. Temple hasn't been in one since nineteen.
Saint Jose hasn't been in one, I think since sixteen.
If i'm Lasal's been in one in the last thirty years.
Drexel's been in one since ninety seven. So what am
I missing here? Villanova was great and Temple was under
(01:06:58):
dumf was very good for like a decade, and then
the world changed on them. You know, the landscape change,
So I don't know what the answer like, I don't
have an answer, because if Kyle is indeed gone, if
they don't make the tournament, we would think that that
would be the case. But they could still make the
tournaments on that and Saint Joe could win the Atlantic
ten or or you know, things could happen. But again,
(01:07:22):
where does Villanova go from here? And I hate talking
about this when a guy still has a job and
there's still playing like this, But where does Villainova go with?
Speaker 3 (01:07:33):
Yeah, I don't have the faised idea.
Speaker 6 (01:07:35):
Yeah, yeah, beyond the obvious win loss record and all
that stuff and talking about the Big five in general.
And it was obviously the exception to all that. The
coach was a big part of that. The brand was
a part of it. But you know, Jay made it
a brand again and made it the biggest brand it's
ever been in the history of the school. The whole
(01:07:55):
landscape of college sports has changed in the last three
years right to it basically already gone against schools like
Saint jose in the sal and ten, but now it's
gotten worse because even if you get good players and
Saint Joseph miraculous, he managed to keep all theirs, but
they're still not playing as well as the talent would suggest.
Even if you get good players, you're going to lose it.
(01:08:18):
And that's true of everybody. So it's a bigger problem
now than ever unless you have giant and il money
at your school, which Villanova does have, but none of
the other schools in the city any I mean they
got pocket chains compared to the serious schools like Indiana
spent five million this year. You know, it's four argans
(01:08:39):
in the four or five range. There are all the
ones I just know in the Big ten and state
converses like at a million and a half. And that's
really what it's come down to. Do you have the
resources to pay players enough that either they want to
came or they want to stay. And I don't see
it in the Big five, I mean, uniquely not positioned
to succeed in today's environment unfortunately. So I don't say
(01:09:01):
this getting any better. So yeah, as Mike said, well,
if somebody wins a conference, sermam, and everybody will have
a chance, with the possible exception of pen they got
to finish in the top four. If somebody's not going
to run a conference, term, and nobody's going on again
for the third year in row, unheard of in the
history of the Big Five. Yeah, John Jason, what do
you think of?
Speaker 3 (01:09:19):
Oh, go ahead, Johnny, gotcha.
Speaker 2 (01:09:21):
I mean, it's it's been the same problems I think
for the past couple of years that Countupto has been there.
They cannot finish games. It's been a struggle for them
the last two minutes, three minutes, four minutes. Things are
remaining the same. You would hope they get better year
over year. I think they do have somewhat talented players,
Like I love the way Long Gino has played. I
(01:09:42):
do like the way Uga Poplars played. Eric Dixon has
played obviously phenomenal. So I think they're getting individually there's
some pretty good performances. It's just as a team there's
just something something off. And I don't know what the
pinpoint that too and why that's the case. But it's
a team that probably should be better than twelve and
nine right now, and I think better than five and
five and conference play.
Speaker 4 (01:10:01):
Dick, you're you're the basketball guy, Dick. You know so
much more than I do. But and I don't know
how many Villanova games you see because you're doing your
Penn State and all those things. I have several people
friends of mine who consistently tell me that they're not
well coached that And again, I don't watch games the
way you do, so you know, I'll see things like
(01:10:23):
if you don't play well at the end of games,
like John just pointed out, okay, you always go back
to coach, you know, was it whatever?
Speaker 3 (01:10:29):
The players still got to play.
Speaker 4 (01:10:30):
But I mean, do you have any thoughts on that
at all or do you just not see enough of
of this to get a few Yeah?
Speaker 6 (01:10:37):
I probably Yeah, I think the latter is true. I
don't see as much like back in the day. Obviously
I was watching all these things. I sure I knew
as much as I possibly could know because I was
writing about it. I needed to know stuff. So yeah,
I've only seen bits and pieces. But here's what I
have seen from Kyle Specifically, I don't like the body
language at the end of games. He just seems a
(01:10:58):
little frantic, and when you you're frantic and has a
tendency to make your teams a little frantic, so that
would concern me. Now, Jay could get a little wild,
but he had the cachet you know he was. He
could get wild, he could scream at reps and do
what he wanted to do because he was Jay Wright
and he was going to the Hall of Famenty won titles,
and he'd been to multiple final fours and one biggest championships.
(01:11:19):
But there's actually some people out there at Villandeva in
the administration. I'm being told that they're saying, well, wait
a second. You know, Jay Wright's for a few years
wearing a good either, which is true, they weren't. They
must fire. They can't close to fire them. So what
are we doing? We're going to fire this guy after
three years. But the problem is, because of what Jay
(01:11:41):
Wright did, the expectation at Villanova is now outside. You know,
they think they're supposed to be competing for national titles
on a regular basis, and now they can't even get
the NC tournament. So that's the problem. They have a
new athletic director who's at Beldova Grad, who was that
temple and most recently at Oregon. You just gave Aboard
a couple of weeks go. Obviously he's going to evaluate.
(01:12:01):
But these kinds of decisions on these head coaches, frankly,
are at a place like Villanova are not really made
by the athletic director, in some cases not even made
by the president. They're made by the money people. That's
that's how Jay right that job to start with. Steve
Lapis had had a lot of success out there, but
(01:12:22):
couldn't win tournament games, couldn't win big games, and towards
the end he'd lost the fan base. And Jay Wright was,
for people that don't remember, was this close to taking
the Rutgers job when the money people stepped in at
Villanova said hey, we're hiring Jay Wright. And the athletic
director at the time is our good friend good SnO Castro.
(01:12:42):
And I was covered the team. I was the deep
writer and I said, I said, Evince, after it all
happened as a whirlwin, I said, what just happened? Because
Lapis is out on Friday, and I think Jay was
hired on Monday, he said. And his answer to me,
Mike and guys, it was an awesome answer. He says,
when I figure out what just happened, I'll let you know,
running director.
Speaker 3 (01:13:02):
Here's the problem.
Speaker 4 (01:13:03):
I think Villanova has Dick and and because you've seen it,
like you just alluded to, I mean it's pert Yeah,
like we saw it happened to Saint Jose in a way,
right people you know just didn't one fill it for
whatever reasons. Okay, fine, if they don't make the tournament
this year, the people that give to the nil or whatever.
Speaker 3 (01:13:23):
You know, you're the new ad. So you're not going
to bring Kyle back.
Speaker 4 (01:13:28):
I mean, I don't know what his contract situation is,
but I'm getting to go to those people and just say, hey,
we ever bring Kyle back.
Speaker 3 (01:13:35):
What's their reaction? Now?
Speaker 4 (01:13:37):
The second question that would have is not good. The
second question that would have is tell me who's next.
Speaker 3 (01:13:43):
It's just like, you know, you want to give it in.
Speaker 4 (01:13:45):
You want to give it to Nick Siria and if
he loses tomorrow, okay, fine, who's next?
Speaker 3 (01:13:49):
Just tell me who you're bringing in?
Speaker 4 (01:13:51):
And I don't know if Vroanova you might have a
better idea than I do about possibilities.
Speaker 6 (01:13:55):
It's not Look, it's not as appealing as it would
have been five years ago, when this is the best
brand in college basketball. It was it. I mean, look
at Jay had the best program out there and was
doing something that was in taking the small private Catholic
school and making them not only nationally relevant, but getting
the multiple final fours and winning championships that was such
(01:14:17):
a difficult ask. I mean, look a look at all
the compatriots, look at Georgetown and Saint John's. I mean, you,
we're doing a great job, shockingly, but look at their
recent history. They were terrible and they have been terrible.
But yet Jay made Villanovn into something. But it was him,
He's the guy that did it. He was a one off.
So yeah, I don't to me, the job would still
(01:14:39):
be appealing because they're going to pay a lot of money,
but it just it's not going to be the same.
And I really feel bad for Kyle in this group
because they just walked into it a virtually impossible situation,
not only with the succeeding a legend they were succeeding
of at a time when the entire sport was changing
like overnight. Uh, And you can't recruit isn't expected to
(01:15:00):
be there four or five years. They might not be
there five minutes. If they're not getting paid, they're not playing,
and or if they are playing and not getting paid enough,
they're gone. They're not loyal.
Speaker 4 (01:15:10):
Let's say let's say for the sake of argument, Kyle
would come in and made the tournament the last two years.
Let's just say made the tournament and they lost in
the first or second round, whatever, and maybe people would
still be unhappy. That's a fair I mean, it's because
they've become entitled. And I understand why you become entitled.
Speaker 3 (01:15:27):
I get it this.
Speaker 4 (01:15:28):
You can't be a duking and losing the first round
of the NC double as four straight years or whatever.
Speaker 3 (01:15:32):
I get all that.
Speaker 4 (01:15:34):
But again, when you're following Jay and there was no
logical successor. Kyle had spent one year for them and
by all accounts did a really nice job.
Speaker 3 (01:15:43):
But it's one year at for them, and now all
of a sudden you're.
Speaker 4 (01:15:46):
Being handed the keys to the teams just went to
a final.
Speaker 6 (01:15:49):
Four, you know, and your best when all the good players, Yeah,
all the good players are gone except one and he's hurt. Yeah,
and nil starts and transfer portal and yeah, that's true.
Absolutely it was for.
Speaker 3 (01:16:02):
The Villanova people.
Speaker 4 (01:16:04):
I hated this, But you might go to next twenty
thirty years and not win a title again or get
to a fine It's not easy to get to a
final four.
Speaker 6 (01:16:11):
Well, I've made this point a number of times, and
again it's changing even more so now. The last Catholic
school to win a title prior to Villanova in sixteen
was Villanova in nineteen eighty five. That's the who. Once
the state schools discovered, oh my god, we can make
money in basketball too. I mean, Florida was a joke
(01:16:32):
in basketball for years. Kentucky was just a walkover at
the SEC every year because nobody else cared. They just
wanted to play football. Well, they discovered there was money
to be made basketball, so they started getting serious about it.
Speaker 8 (01:16:43):
Now.
Speaker 6 (01:16:44):
Look now, look around and see who the powers are, right,
Yukon is the Yukon is the complete there's a state
school does I mean they have football, but it's fake football.
But they're the total exception to all the rules of
the sport right now, everything else look around. He was
in the top ten or fifteen. It ain't it ain't
(01:17:06):
schools like all other but just the fact of it,
you know. Again, major credit to my man Rick was
Saint John. He's doing it again. I don't know how
he's doing it. He doesn't have a single guy I
can make a jumped out.
Speaker 3 (01:17:16):
Because he's Rick. That's why he's doing it. You said that,
you know when you went there, you knew he was
going to make him good.
Speaker 6 (01:17:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:17:25):
Yeah, how do you think? And I noticed is a
loaded question.
Speaker 4 (01:17:29):
But like twenty five years from now, we look back
at the Jay Right era, or at least the seven
or eight years from like you know, two thousand and
fourteen to twenty twenty two, Like you know, we're going
to look back and say, huh, they went out fine,
they were a number one or two seed five straight years.
Speaker 6 (01:17:51):
Nobody thought in America. Yeah, no, they were the best
program in America. I mean like a bad year was
like thirty two and four.
Speaker 4 (01:18:00):
I mean sure, yeah, you know, you're absolutely every year
you look up and Dick and how many of his
guys now in the NBA.
Speaker 6 (01:18:09):
Look, that's the other point. Look look around the look
around the league. So you know, he recruited great players
and more than that, and none of them other than Bruns,
and none of them were super high recruit recruits. Now,
the reveloped them over over three, four or five years,
and they got better through his coaching and the assistants
and the work that they did with him, and the
strength and conditioning guys and everything. But yeah, that that
(01:18:31):
whole model doesn't exist at the high major level. An
Its just it's just not there. So yeah, yeah, you're
gonna look back and look. You know, that's why he's
one of the smartest guys out there. He saw the
future and said, you know what, CBS looks pretty, looks
like a lot of fun too.
Speaker 4 (01:18:48):
I mean doesn't even even at Yukon Dick Danny Hurleys
had to switch faces from the team from two years.
Speaker 3 (01:18:53):
Ago, right, I mean he those times, all the starters
last year for most.
Speaker 6 (01:18:58):
Of them, for sure. Yeah, yeah, they're not. I don't
they're not. I don't think they're winning the championship this year. Off,
they don't have the talent they had the previous two years.
But yeah, he got the perfect guys to replace the
great guys last year. I don't think he has that
this year. But he's still I still love him. He's
just he's out of his mind. Uh, in a good,
(01:19:18):
in a fun way. And what he said to the
raft the other thing, don't walk away, don't turn your
back to me. I'm the best coach in America. You
gotta love the guy like that, My man coach Hurley,
complete nut bag, Mike, have you ever hear, I'm unbelievable
with Danny's He's.
Speaker 3 (01:19:38):
Not He's really.
Speaker 4 (01:19:41):
I mostly from Afar. I don't think I was ever
in a press conference with him. I'm trying to remember,
but yeah, I see.
Speaker 3 (01:19:48):
I like guys.
Speaker 4 (01:19:50):
I understand why people wouldn't like him, and I get it.
I like guys to just tell you, yeah, we're really
good and we're gonna beat the crap out of you.
And that's basically what he did this year, right, Yeah,
he said, no, nobody's beating us. I mean, and and
what they win there did the last two years. They
didn't lose by less than double digits, I mean, didn't
win by less than double digits.
Speaker 6 (01:20:11):
In order they covered the spread at all twelve m c.
Speaker 3 (01:20:15):
Okay, okay, that was it.
Speaker 2 (01:20:16):
Yeah, it's inane.
Speaker 6 (01:20:19):
Yeah, not only Yeah, they crossed everybody. They crossed their spirit.
They just abused everybody. It didn't matter who they played against,
and they crossed everybody. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:20:26):
Anyway, and Villanover's in that lake, Yeah they are.
Speaker 6 (01:20:32):
Unfortunately for them. We'll be back final half hour of
h sports are there and everywhere. I'll be back into
the sports book next week on the road Penn State
at Iowa last night lost by point. They will be
playing at Michigan on Monday. We're heading to Michigan just
after that. Where I thought I was going to go
to Detroit to Fords Field to see the Eagles play
(01:20:53):
for the NFC championship, But I'll be watching that game
on television.
Speaker 4 (01:20:58):
You can go over to Ford's Field, go over to
Fourfield and see what's happening.
Speaker 3 (01:21:02):
Like, see what's going on over here.
Speaker 6 (01:21:04):
I could. Wouldn't be hard to get a parking place.
Speaker 2 (01:21:06):
This week's not gonna be a thousand bucks.
Speaker 4 (01:21:10):
Yeah, my friend who loses, my friend who lives in
Toledo said before they lost, like he said, you couldn't
believe how nuts it was in Detroit. He said, you know,
imagine this team that hasn't won in sixty years or
seventy years or however long it was. And like Kyle said,
the parking spots were going for like a thousand parking spots.
Speaker 3 (01:21:32):
We're going for like one thousand dollars in the lat Yeah,
you call uber uber.
Speaker 5 (01:21:39):
I don't care where you live, far away you live,
you pay the Uber. It's gonna be less than a
thousand and they may never get back.
Speaker 3 (01:21:46):
They may never be in that position again.
Speaker 6 (01:21:49):
Lost the coordinator, so who knows what's gonna happen. Jared
Tom may never get over that that was. That was
a class by him for sure. Listening sports here there

Joining us on the phone as well is Dick Girardi.
Eagles big game tomorrow, they're taking on the Washington Commanders.
We've talked about concerns potentially some things that maybe Washington
(01:23:33):
could do. But Dick Girardi, how are there any concerns
legitimately that you have about the Eagles for tomorrow?
Speaker 6 (01:23:41):
I have concerns if Washington has just gotten that good
because the quarterback is that good. So I mean he's
good enough, he's played well enough in big moments and
big games that yeah, they're certainly a concern. But Mike
said it earlier. I think the Eagles would be huge
if they can play from in front, because then they
can play like they want to play, and they basically
played for him in front. In Game two. It was
(01:24:02):
just a bizarre situation with no hurts and the defense
had a rare bad game. They haven't had many. But
you give w Washing credit and maybe they're yeah, right right,
they still want to splay five turnovers, so that's impressive.
But they did have five turnovers. They have two turnovers tomorrow.
They're not going to win because that's the one thing
the Eagles have done since week before. They just said,
(01:24:24):
all right, here's what we're doing. We're having the ball
to Barkley. We think our defense is pretty good, and
we're not going to just give games away, which they've
been doing. They haven't done that. I mean, they've had
I don't know how many turnovers have they had in
the last like fourteen games, like three hasn't been many.
And that's yeah, that's the way you win games in
the NFL. Just don't give the other team short fields
(01:24:46):
and the chance. One thing I'm interested in hearing from
you guys about this too. So at the beginning of
the year, when you first listened to Tom Brady on
the air, key was wouldn't he had nothing of interest
to say he was clearly overmatched. I think he's become
really good over the season. I'm curious what everybody else
(01:25:07):
thinks and listening to him, and he'll be doing the
game on Fox Mark.
Speaker 2 (01:25:10):
I still think he's a little stiff.
Speaker 5 (01:25:12):
I think he's a little stiff, and I think there's
times where it's obvious that he doesn't do enough.
Speaker 2 (01:25:18):
Welcome back to sports here there and never represented exclusively
about the bet Park sportsbook and casino app. Talking Eagles
at Washington, I think Dick Drarty was going over you know,
the concerns there obviously Jaydon Daniels and the offense present.
I think Mike Kerr may be one of the bigger things.
Are we talking about enough? I guess Jalen Hurts.
Speaker 4 (01:25:36):
Knee injury, your quarterback, Yes, has a knee injury that
looked pretty not good. He came off the field and
we haven't heard anything more week except that he's progressing
and that's fine, and he may be fine. He may
play the game, but he's not going to beat Jalen
Hurts totally. Will he run the ball a little bit,
especially early to let Washington know that he could, But
(01:25:59):
if he takes a shot on the knee. Yeah, or
what if God forbid, he just goes to make a
pivot or something and then knee plus that is his
plant leg. I'm guessing on if he's throwing the ball,
he's planning with his left leg, that would concern me
a little bit. But again, if Saquan goes nuts and
you don't need him to throw the ball, then it's
not a concern.
Speaker 6 (01:26:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:26:18):
Well, the thing that Collinsworth said last week was, you know,
as you're monitoring how bad the injury was, and when
he came back in, you had a couple plays.
Speaker 2 (01:26:27):
All right, he rolled out to his right. All right,
that's good, check that off. He can still do that.
A little bit later on he rolled to the left.
Speaker 5 (01:26:33):
So he's still able to roll left and right without
any issues at the end of that game.
Speaker 4 (01:26:38):
But maybe not roll like he rolls, not roll like
a quarterback can drop back on a bad leg.
Speaker 3 (01:26:46):
Yeah, they set himself and make a pass.
Speaker 4 (01:26:48):
Yeah, but again, the jailen that we know, the jailing
that makes jailen jailing is he's the guy around for
forty five yards for a touchdown on the first correct
that's jailing.
Speaker 2 (01:26:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:26:59):
Well, if he ain't Jaling, it's gonna put more pressure
on Barkley. Now again, Barkley might break off two or
three fifty yard runs.
Speaker 3 (01:27:07):
He certainly can't pay.
Speaker 5 (01:27:08):
But even when he's not running, those plays that he
can roll out and throw the ball, I mean, those
are his bread and butter when it comes to the
passing game. If they do need to have him throw
a little bit more rather than rely on him.
Speaker 3 (01:27:19):
It's one less thing Washington has to worry about.
Speaker 5 (01:27:22):
Then that's I'm trying to be optimistic about it. I
know it's set back either way because of the injury.
Probably think it will still be mobile in some sense.
Speaker 2 (01:27:29):
Probably play great and the win by twenty and we
won't even talk about it. I also, I can't real quick, John,
I can't.
Speaker 5 (01:27:35):
I hear people throughout the week there's a blowout, it's
gonna be a blowout thirty one seven.
Speaker 2 (01:27:40):
I'm like, you can't just openly say that.
Speaker 5 (01:27:43):
You gotta some You can say that you can, but
like I've been I don't know about all these other people,
but I've been watching these games and the way that
the Eagles play.
Speaker 2 (01:27:53):
They don't play to blow people out.
Speaker 3 (01:27:56):
Thirty one seven. I'm never gonna like I'm hoping.
Speaker 5 (01:27:58):
It's thirty one seven correct, but just to blatantly like
I feel like people just say it blind like fans.
I know, I know, maybe I'm just I'm pulling a
Mike her and I'm just hating on the Philadelphia.
Speaker 3 (01:28:11):
You just you know, you try to be realistic about it.
Speaker 2 (01:28:13):
The only thing I hope for that because I know
Jalen has knee injury. We don't know how bad it's
going to be. It looks like he's practicing. There's he
favors it a little bit, but he's moving around. They're saying,
in practice, he looks fine. But you just don't know
what right right? What are you gonna say? But I
just hope that it doesn't It doesn't change in how
they call the game, or it doesn't change in how
they see the game. You still got if Jalen hurts
(01:28:35):
has to run, you know, you have to run him.
Speaker 4 (01:28:37):
But if you know, if he's injured and the and
the docs say to you, yeah, if he takes like
a shot there, you can't just run him like you Why.
Speaker 2 (01:28:45):
I think you would. It's tough to play a playoff
game that way. And I think a good example of
it in a second quarter. But you but also, do
you want Jalen Hurts not being himself?
Speaker 3 (01:28:56):
No, you want him in the game.
Speaker 2 (01:28:57):
I know I want him in the game. You want
him in the game, But I want him in the
doing the things that he does. Well, we all like that.
You're right, but I just I don't. I don't want
this to affect how they call the game. Everybody was
saying this as well when it came to his concussion
and coming back three weeks after it, do you call
the game differently? No, you have to win a playoff
game against a really tough team tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:29:18):
Losing hushing is you gotta ge hit in the head?
This is different.
Speaker 4 (01:29:22):
He's running, he's running on that knee. Did you see
the second half of the game. How do you look
in the second half or the last after he got hurt.
Speaker 2 (01:29:29):
I just think he played bad.
Speaker 3 (01:29:30):
I think the knee was bothering him. I think did
you see it went like this?
Speaker 2 (01:29:34):
I was bad. It looked har that's twenty minutes after
the injury. Though, if he does a.
Speaker 3 (01:29:38):
Week, doesn't heal in a week, it's going to be swords.
Speaker 6 (01:29:41):
Now.
Speaker 4 (01:29:41):
He'll play through all that because that's what Jalen Hurts does.
Speaker 3 (01:29:46):
But again, and I.
Speaker 4 (01:29:47):
Don't know if they're going to if they whatever the something.
But again it's it's if he can't do that that
thing he does. You know, I might get the Barkley,
I might keep it. I might if they can't in
the first quarter. Washington knows that.
Speaker 2 (01:30:03):
Yeah, Dick already. What's your take on this?
Speaker 6 (01:30:05):
How you doing, Pal, I'm done, I'm done. Fine. Look,
I don't know how Hurts is gonna be, but he's
a tough guy. I thought that was like a torn
something or another one of that happened. Yeah, it was horrible. Uh,
you know, I wasn't sure he's gonna get up. But
he's the ultimate tough guy. And look, he's playing for
a chance to get back to where he was two
(01:30:26):
years ago and finished. But they didn't weren't able to finish.
So it means everything to him. Uh, and he wants
to get there, So I don't I don't know exactly
what his physical limitations are going to be, if any
fun he'll play through whatever he's able to play through.
Here's a question for the panel. Uh, Mike goes back
(01:30:48):
further than any of us, but just historically has there
ever been a better year for a Philadelphia athlete than
Sakwan Barkley's year for the Eels. Uh in your Mike
and your memory or certainly Kyle And.
Speaker 4 (01:31:04):
Yeah, I was thinking about this, Dick. It's it's interesting.
But and maybe just gonna say the year that Jalen
Hurts had two years ago. I mean, think about that.
He would have won the m v P if he
doesn't miss those two games and he came within three
points of beating Patrick Mahomes and he may never play
that well again, they may not need them. And I
(01:31:24):
also look back and didn't get finished off the year
that Wentz was having in sevent Yeah, he was going
to be the m v P probably too. Now Barkley
finished it off. You know, Barkley played the whole year.
I mean t O had a great year when he
came here that year, like historic top just birds?
Speaker 2 (01:31:44):
Are we talking?
Speaker 3 (01:31:45):
No, Dick was talking about birds?
Speaker 6 (01:31:47):
Yeah no, no, philadelph your sports and just like sports.
Speaker 2 (01:31:50):
I'll throw one out there, but yeah, are there is
there any that have had like a top four to
five year at their position?
Speaker 3 (01:31:56):
I mean you mean any need a four teams Dick?
Speaker 6 (01:31:59):
And yeah, yeah, I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:32:00):
Moses Moses Malone in eighty three.
Speaker 2 (01:32:04):
Yep, Ryan Howard two thousand and six, that's a good one.
Speaker 6 (01:32:09):
Yeah, ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (01:32:11):
I was considered Howard that year was one of the best,
like pure power hitter years for a long time until
Judge came.
Speaker 6 (01:32:18):
The other the other comparison would be a first year guy,
and the only comparison I could pick up would be
Tarrell Owans, Right, he came, Yeah, because.
Speaker 2 (01:32:29):
Someone's put up numbers and he got hurt. And so
obviously it didn't the numbers. That was Moses first year here,
but in terms of impacts had one of the biggest impacts.
Speaker 4 (01:32:38):
Yeah, I mean they bought I mean back in the day,
they bought Pete Rose here to win a title and
he did. I mean that's what they bought Pete Rose
here for because that team and failed three straight times.
And okay, they bought Moses here to win the title
and he did. They bought t O here would be
the final peace and almost maybe.
Speaker 6 (01:32:58):
They even to rephrase the question, has there ever been
a player that every time he touches the ball, you
think he might run for seventy five or eighty yards.
I mean, it's it's incredible. The whole stadium is just
now sitting there waiting and just say, oh my god,
he's gone, like after five yards. We all know it's
(01:33:19):
a touchdown. I mean, it's it's an astonishing season. Greatest
image and major major credit to the offensive line, which
is just incredible. There's no nothing on really anyway.
Speaker 4 (01:33:32):
They are the greatest image from last week. Before he
even hits the line, Hurts has his hands up in
the air. Touchdown exactly he knew.
Speaker 3 (01:33:40):
I mean, the guy wasn't the line of scrimmage yet. Touchdown.
Speaker 6 (01:33:44):
That's crazy. Yeah, I mean I remember when when when
they got him, when they signed him. On the show,
we were talking about him, and I know I was
thinking this crazy because obviously I know him very well
from pet State in fact, that he was going to
get the run behind the actual offensive line for the
first time in his career. And I said, two thousand
yorks of scrimmage and I underestimate, I never never invested it.
(01:34:06):
Think it's just been incredible and I don't know why
Washington's going to stop him. Nobody else has.
Speaker 3 (01:34:13):
Was he this fast?
Speaker 4 (01:34:15):
Because is the thing that shocks me about him, and
I know the line gets him through the line a
lot without him getting touched.
Speaker 3 (01:34:22):
So that is an as he runs away from everybody.
Speaker 6 (01:34:26):
Correct, he's nobody's catching the build. Yeah, he was right
with that path. You don't see the combination of power speed. Yeah,
he was like that. Steve Jones is played by play
guy works with me on basketball, so just football, he said.
He called his broadcast partner Jack Hamm after he saw
Barkley in pre season practice. He said, you're not going
to believe this kid. So they knew in a hurry.
(01:34:50):
And as good as his runs with the Eagles have been,
get on YouTube and watch that famous run against USC
and a rose ball. That might be the best run
he ever had.
Speaker 1 (01:34:59):
It was.
Speaker 6 (01:34:59):
It's just a freak chew say it's been and he's
also Look, I don't know him, I've never met him,
but by all accounts, he's a great teammate. Seems like
a wonderful guy. This guy you can root for, Uh
PA guy where the PA team went to the PA
State University. It's pretty cool. All you got to do
is finish it off by winning a super Bowl. That's
all you got to this.
Speaker 2 (01:35:20):
You know, answer your answer your question.
Speaker 5 (01:35:23):
Uh, nobody had a better single season than sa Quon
and Philadelphia sports history. Uh, especially in their first year.
But I will throw one out there first year in
Philadelphia season twenty ten, Roy Halliday, I think might be
number two.
Speaker 6 (01:35:41):
The game. Yeah, that perfect game, no hitter in the playoffs,
pretty damn.
Speaker 3 (01:35:46):
Don't forget Moses and Moses. Moses here and one one m.
Speaker 4 (01:35:51):
VP won a title. You know, you know the thing,
Dick you talked about Squan as a person. You know
who he reminds me of. I just see him on
TV Tyree smatch. Yes, they both got a lot of
so likable, they're so they're just you look at them
and you're like, I worry about Maxie with all this
crap that's.
Speaker 3 (01:36:10):
Going on with the Sixers. I just worry that he's
going to lose that enthusiasm that he brings every night.
Speaker 6 (01:36:16):
Yep, you love watching it.
Speaker 3 (01:36:20):
Yeah, this has got to drag you down to no doubt.
Speaker 6 (01:36:24):
Yeah, there's no question. And John, I know you and
I are the soccer officionados.
Speaker 3 (01:36:30):
Here the show on this their soccer on right now.
Speaker 6 (01:36:34):
I know I'm watching it. USA Bournemouth leading Nottingham Forest
and Robin one.
Speaker 3 (01:36:39):
Okay, okay, but Liverpool is.
Speaker 6 (01:36:43):
Beating the Sad boys from Ipswich today three nil. They
are having one of the great years in soccer history. Uh,
they're speaking of great runs. They've lost one game in
the Premier League. They have what looks they're starting to
look like an instrument of the league. They have not
lost the game in the Champions League, which is the
(01:37:03):
best teams in Europe playing against each other. And they
lead three now today against Sad Sack Ipswich. And your
man Mo Salad is Mike Kurrent's favorite soccer player of
all time has scored again. John, Yeah, better year than
what the Liverpool squad is having. And I know Man
(01:37:24):
City has been good for quite a long time, but
I thought there was Liverpool. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:37:29):
Man City has had some pretty like insane runs recently.
So Liverpool on the flip side of the decided to
do the same thing. Is pretty pretty remark.
Speaker 3 (01:37:43):
Get out there.
Speaker 6 (01:37:45):
Definite relegation. But yeah, I thought, as everybody knows, I'm
a Liverpool fan, so I just thought i'd bring it
up that they're in total control.
Speaker 3 (01:37:55):
Can they clinch at like a month before the season
ends or something.
Speaker 6 (01:37:59):
You can't do that, Yeah, you can't do there's still
too many games left, but they're they're getting to the
point where it's going to be it's going to be
very difficult to catch, which which I definitely like, uh
anything else that I won that good last time year
of the pandemic. They want a year in the pandemic.
Speaker 3 (01:38:17):
They want to Man City wins a lot.
Speaker 6 (01:38:20):
Man City is like been dominant. Yeah, they've won like
four or five years in a row. Yeah, they're the
best team that money can buy. They cheat, they're like
the Patriots, they're like real people. Yeah, I mean they right,
they cheat, they you know, they grab a hold, they cheat,
they they get they pay players, they do over other
(01:38:41):
than that, they're fine human beings. Thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:38:43):
Just are they going to sign though?
Speaker 2 (01:38:47):
Coming back? I don't have money.
Speaker 6 (01:38:49):
I don't. I don't know what's up with that John
Henry boy? That would they are? Yeah? The Red Sox
people you want most Sally, you need to get moments.
But yeah, I give the money.
Speaker 3 (01:39:03):
He's gonna pull a Jimmy Butler. He's gonna demand to
be traded, trade me, Mike, Jimmy Butler. I am so sick.
And it's not just a Jimmy Butler thing.
Speaker 4 (01:39:17):
It's an NBA thing, because if you're an NBA star,
you can do whatever you want and you can get
whatever you want.
Speaker 3 (01:39:23):
We've seen it with Durant. We've seen it.
Speaker 4 (01:39:25):
We see it all the time, and I just wish
that pat Ryle and they tried to. But the player
always wins, the team never wins. So he's going to
get traded. He's probably gonna get traded to the Suns
because they just acquired like three draft picks, and you
know what, he's gonna do it for the Suns nothing
because they sink and they're old. But I'll give Jimmy
(01:39:45):
his props. He did get the Heat to two finals,
what he did in Minnesota, then Chicago to a lesser
the Korean Philly that was partially Philly's fault. And you're
with this guy pat Ryley and Spolster. You can't do
any better than that, and he doesn't want better anymore. Okay, fine,
just just go.
Speaker 5 (01:40:06):
He reminds me same same temperament. Yeah, a mix of
Butler and I think the Sixers should get Jimmy. I
think Paul George's had the great Actually talk about first
(01:40:28):
great season. We're talking about we're talking about Barkley. What
about Zach Bond for like first great season.
Speaker 4 (01:40:34):
But yeah, Dick got to ask you this, I might
if Jimmy had stayed here, let's say to him, decided
to give Ben just for say argument, Jimmy stays, what
do you think could have happened?
Speaker 2 (01:40:49):
They probably would have lost in the second round.
Speaker 3 (01:40:52):
I mean him and Jim and Joe got along really well, right,
they got along really well.
Speaker 6 (01:40:57):
But Show is still a bad big game player. I
don't think that was okay, you don't think.
Speaker 3 (01:41:04):
Okay, that's what if?
Speaker 6 (01:41:06):
They were very close to be the eventual champs right
seven games? They had their opportunities.
Speaker 2 (01:41:13):
I don't know where it got brought up of like
what if? Since sports uh and it's specifically Philly. This
what if isn't would have gotten better or worse? I
just have no idea. What if Carson Wentz never got hurt?
Could they won the Super Bowl? Still? I have no idea.
Like they were on the on their way, they were great.
You know what, what do you have been physically like
better afterwards and been playing.
Speaker 3 (01:41:33):
The only reason that doesn't work because they won the
super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (01:41:36):
They won the super Bowl is like the what if
is usually do what if? Because the thing didn't happen.
But the what if is that thing did actually happen.
So what would it have still happened? And what would
it have been like?
Speaker 3 (01:41:47):
After one of the great that is sports stories?
Speaker 2 (01:41:50):
Ever, Yeah, I think it is.
Speaker 6 (01:41:53):
So here's the question. What if we don't get at
by ten o'clock, that's eleven o'clock.
Speaker 3 (01:41:59):
You you won't make to Michigan. You won't make the mission.
