Speaker 5 (02:04):
I'm on the red eye back after the year. But
that is exactly accurate, Mike Kurr, He said. The only
disappointing thing is the Super Bowls not in Los Angeles
this year. I would have found my wid into the
game tomorrow, but I'll be watching with everybody else.
Speaker 7 (02:22):
Dick.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
This reminds me of the year when like I was
going to Syracuse and I said, Dick, can you do
something about this?
Speaker 8 (02:29):
And Dick's like, yeah, go to Austin, Mike, It's okay.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Go to go to.
Speaker 5 (02:32):
Austin, John and Kyle, you'll love this. Mike was so
destrayed the Temple Als lost in the second round tournament
the Seaton Hall.
Speaker 7 (02:43):
He couldn't take it.
Speaker 5 (02:44):
He says, I can't go to Syracuse for the regionals.
Speaker 7 (02:46):
And I took.
Speaker 5 (02:47):
One for the team. I went to Syracuse. Mike went
to Austin, Texas. And I've still to this day never
been to Austin, Texas, all because of you.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
I'm sorry. I don't realize that you.
Speaker 5 (03:00):
Now.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
And to be honest with you, Dick, I gotta be
honest with you, those four days in Austin I needed them.
Speaker 6 (03:09):
You just remember my giving you a sob story from
Beverly Hills, California.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Beverly Hills, exactly right.
Speaker 5 (03:19):
Yeah. The Penn State plays you see Elated at four
o'clock at Polack Pavilion be the first game I have
ever seen at Polack history.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Dick, is there a track open out there now or
is it?
Speaker 7 (03:31):
Like?
Speaker 5 (03:31):
I don't not with the race, not only is there
a track open? I will be at Santadita tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (03:39):

be your pregame festivities before.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
The correct it starts at eleven a m. Pacific time,
racing over just.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
I was gonna feel bad for you for a second
watching the game in Los Angeles. You know who are
you gonna want with? But no, you're having that great time.
He's gonna watch it.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
He'll be with the Penn State. He's watch it with
Lebron and Luca.
Speaker 5 (04:08):
That's correct, Lebronn and Luca. I was invited over there
at Lebron's house.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
Yeah, Beverly Hills Forrdially the old days, Dick rathid would
have sent you to do a Lucas story.
Speaker 8 (04:19):
He would ad.
Speaker 5 (04:23):
I'd have been at Crypto dot Com Arena left the
other night for the Warriors.
Speaker 7 (04:28):
Uh and the Lakers.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
Where does USC play? Where does you on Tuesday?
Speaker 5 (04:33):
The right They play in a place called the Gallon Center.
It's just off campus. It's I don't even new. Within
the last fifteen or twenty years, they used to play
in the old Sports Arena which is right next to
the coliseum, which is also right off their campus. But yeah,
and we're really close to the UCLA. We're only about
three or four miles from Westwood. We're a little further
away from the USC. But after the USC game, we're
(04:55):
jumping on a red eye coming home. So on the
after the game Tuesday, you.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Might be home into some Yeah, Tuesday, you're supposed to
be maybe not so good.
Speaker 5 (05:05):
I heard yeah, I heard yeah. Whatever, we'll take what
we can get. So the spread is down to minus
one in the game. Somebody's betting on the Eagles here.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Everyone is betting on it the other night, and I said,
by the time the game plays, it'll be a pick them.
Speaker 7 (05:22):
I meant that that's the case.
Speaker 5 (05:24):
That means a lot of money coming in on the Birds.
Speaker 7 (05:27):
Yeah, what's what?
Speaker 5 (05:28):
What's the mood back home?
Speaker 7 (05:30):
Boys? What do we got.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
So far?
Speaker 4 (05:33):
Very positive? I mean I'm positive as well. I'm confident,
and I think that is that's expected with the team
this good. Even though on the other side of things,
it's understood that you're facing you know, one of the
greatest duos of all time and Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes,
and even if you want to add a trio in
there with Spags as well. But there there should be
(05:54):
confidence in this team there. I think there they are
roster wise the better team in this game. It's a
lot of confidence, maybe too much confidence, though.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
There's nobody in Philadelphia here. Here's the way I'll put
it there. Nobody's doubting that the Eagles have more talent
that that's whatever. And when I say, but to me,
they're great. The epitome of a team is what Kansas
City is. Okay, they have and in Philadelphia. Let's say
the Eagles had won the last two Super Bowls and
had Andy Spags and fifteen and this wonderful team from
(06:27):
Kansas City had this guy who had the best rushing year,
we won the best rushing years ever, and they hadn't
lost since September with their quarterback. Nobody would pick that team.
So all I'm saying the Eagles might win this game.
They may very well win this game. They did the
ESPN thing that does that whatever gives them like a
fifty six percent chance to win. I have no doubt.
But let them show me. Because I've watched his team
(06:51):
for three years now. I've had him in almost every
game that they played the last three years, Cincinnati two
years ago, Eagles all four playoff games last year, Flow
last week, even though I was rooting for Josh Allen.
Somebody has to show me that, and the Eagles may
be that team. They may well be that team. I mean,
if it's anything like the game two years ago, it's
(07:11):
gonna be fantastic. But I am not going down. I'm
not going to take the Eagles and then have Kansas
City wins.
Speaker 8 (07:18):
Me sit there and go, huh, like, what did I do?
Speaker 3 (07:21):
Yeah, I mean that That's what I'm That's my opinion.
Speaker 6 (07:23):
That's what I'm torn between, because I think the Eagles
have the more complete roster. I think they're they're better
and all asked, you know, fastest to the game except
for the most important one, which is quarterback and and
and head coach. So part of me is like, I
think the Eagles should win this game because they have
(07:43):
the overall better team. But then you're running into that
that monster that's Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid that we've
been saying for the last couple of years that you
can't bet against them until proven.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
Otherwise, the Eagles were playing Baltimore or Buffalo tomorrow. Yeah,
I would love the Eagles. Yeah, I wouldn't even And
again that would scare me because I usually don't get like,
there's no way they would lose the Buffalo. Okay, I'm
not saying he beat them by three touchdown. I'm just
saying there's no way they'd lose. There's no way they'd
lose to Baltimore. I saw that game three months ago,
and Baltimore is a better team now. But the only
(08:16):
team I think in the NFL that had the talent
that the Eagles have is Detroit, and then they got
all injured, and so we'll never know what might have
happened all these other teams, Minnesota didn't have as much talent,
and Minnesota was really good. The Ksey Chiefs do not
have as much talent as the Eagles. No, nobody's denying that.
But what they have is three rings on their finger.
(08:37):
They have fifteen, and the Eagles have to beat that,
and they again go ahead and do it. Yeah, and
they almost did it two years ago.
Speaker 6 (08:45):
It reminds me, Dick, if it really reminds me of
twenty seventeen, where I thought the Eagles had the better
roster all around, that we know what happened at the
quarterback position, but you were running into Brady and Belichick.
So all bets are off running into the best due
of all time.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
Yeah, that one right analogy. I look at it this way, Mike.
I'm thinking that remember the game where Tampa Bay just
overwhelmed them in the in the Super Bowl, right where
the Kansas City's offensive line was all banged up. I
don't know if that's that's exactly what we're looking at,
but I would look at it this way. The Eagles
offensive line is better than Kansas City's. Right, They're wideouts
(09:26):
are clearly better. Their running back is better than anybody's
running back, so you know, other than quarterback, they have
every edge on offense. Defense, to me is much closer.
I think, you know, Chris Jones is awesome. I think
the back end for Kansas City, they're cornerbacks and safeties,
(09:47):
are a little more proven than the Eagles at this stage.
Speaker 7 (09:50):
But I think the Eagles have the.
Speaker 5 (09:51):
Edge at almost every position. Or it's a team. Yeah,
so they're really supposed to win the game. I'm a
little surprised to this moment that the Chiefs are favored.
The Eagles were favored in the game two years ago?
Do I remember that correctly?
Speaker 7 (10:06):
Eagle?
Speaker 8 (10:07):
The Chiefs have been.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
They were underdogs against the Bengals two years ago because
of Mahomes's ankle and the fact that Burrow had played
well against them. They were underdogs against the Eagles, They
were underdogs last year against Buffalo Baltimore and the forty
nine ers, and last week they were what a three
point favorite at home. So nobody through this whole run
(10:30):
it isn't.
Speaker 7 (10:30):
Like the Chiefs.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
The only game was the Texans game. I guess they
were favored by like eight or nine. I don't even
know if they covered or not. But this is what
the Chiefs do. And again nobody like the Eagles defense
gives up seventeen point eight points, okay, number one, the
Chiefs give up nineteen point two that they're they're four.
So I mean, but the Eagles are better much, right,
(10:52):
But again we get back to who's the better team.
I'm not sure the Chiefs have shown. They've won seventeen
only one possession games.
Speaker 5 (11:04):
Yea, their numbers, their numbers did no that. Look, the
reality is, as Mike just just saying, is that they
until somebody beats them. You just go God, they just
find a way every time. But to me, the matchup
this time is so favorable for the Eagles. I really
don't see how Kansas City is going to cover their wideouts.
(11:24):
They didn't, they weren't able to cover up two years ago.
I mean, Jalen Hurts that maybe the best game of
his career against a lot of these same players. Now
they were younger players for Kansas City. Back then they
were first and second year players.
Speaker 4 (11:35):
Now the third and fourth Jalen Hurts. I think Jalen
Hurt has been good as a passer. That's still his
best year as a passer by far.
Speaker 5 (11:43):
Oh but no question. Two years ago now he was
he was phenomenal. But ye now he's got Barkley and
you know, assuming he's healthy enough, which I think he is.
The quarterbacks, to me, they're really hard to defend when
all that stuff has going on, and you know who's
starting Antonio Brown, I mean there are a j Brown.
The answer is nobody. Aj Bran, the answer is no one.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
Here's what the chief and I agree with everything. I
think you play the unders with Saquon. I think it's
been nineteen games since the Chiefs have given up one
hundred yard rusher in the playoffs. Now that's not saying
Saquan can't get I don't think Squan is going to
do what he did the last two games, because I
think this is much better.
Speaker 4 (12:23):
But if the.
Speaker 3 (12:25):
Chiefs missed a tackle, he could be gone.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
You know that.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
That's what I think. I would play jailing if they
win this game, I think it's going to be mostly
on jailing or more on jailing and the two wide receivers.
And what you said about their defensive line is so right.
What the Chiefs did is they moved their left guard
at the left tackle and they and they soared that
up there. But there's a little bit their weaknesses in
(12:47):
the middle, and that's where ninety eight and that's where
ninety eight is. And if ninety eight has a big game,
and look, the Chiefs are going to do things just
like that. The Eagles are gonna do things against Jones.
I mean, that's what teams do. And I think whoever's
next to ninety eight needs I think a lot of
this game is going to come down to coaching.
Speaker 8 (13:06):
I really do.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
You have great coordinators all over the place, right, fans,
you get chess match on both sides. I think the
chess matches are going to be, you know, and again
it's gonna be some high level football.
Speaker 8 (13:18):
I'm a Syriani guy, right, I've stuck by him and all.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
But there's that thought in everybody's head that there's going
to be some moment in this game or somewhere where
he might do something. We go, huh, yeah, I'm you know,
And we used to say that about Andy here, right,
I mean twenty years ago. Yeah, we were to want
to saying, Andy, what are you going to do? Wrong? Time?
Speaker 5 (13:37):
I think this is.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
This game. The game two years ago was obviously one
of the best Super Bowls ever. Okay, and there was
a call at the end and what Eagles gave up
a sixty five yard pum return, a fumble return and
all this kind of thing. If that, I think this
game can't help. But being kind of like that game,
I really don't. The over under I think is forty eight,
and a lot of people are thinking under. I'm not.
(14:01):
I'm not sure it's going to be thirty eight thirties,
but I think both of these teams can get to thirty.
I know the Chiefs haven't gotten you know, thirty very often,
but I think this game could be in a high fifties,
like mid to high fifties. And but I think Jalen's
going to have a good game. Jalen's had this chip
on his shoulder for two years. Yeah, he really has,
and I think he's going to play very well. I
(14:22):
really do.
Speaker 6 (14:23):
Both of these teams their big success has been not
making mistakes, especially Kansas City. Kansas City does all the
right things. They don't make mistakes, they don't turn the
ball over, and that's exactly what the Eagles have been
doing this year. I know Jalen. Last year was a
turnover machine. Two years ago they lost that Super Bowl
because of the fumble and the punt returned and made
(14:45):
more mistakes than Kansas City. This year, Eagles have cleaned
all that up. And now you have two teams that
are going against each other that do not make it
in the second half.
Speaker 8 (14:54):
Two years ago, Mahomes was thirteen for fourteen.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
Yeah, I'm not sure he does that against this defense.
I mean, and this defense is obviously better than that
defense was all that that defense wasn't bad. But again,
I think one thing people were underestimating a little bit,
and somebody bought this up one player former players on
the ESPN the other.
Speaker 8 (15:11):
Day Kansas City.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
Nobody's talked about it much this week because they're going
for something nobody's ever going for before. Somebody said, well,
you think there's gonna be a lot of pressure on them,
and they said, no, the pressure was like last the
pressure was getting to this game. Now, that's easy to say,
like when New England got there in two thousand and
seven and they were trying to go nineteen to zero
and they lost to the Giants, and Eli Manning even
came out and said, I think they might have been
(15:34):
feeling something.
Speaker 8 (15:34):
Maybe they weren't, Maybe they weren't.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
I think people underestimate the Chiefs resolved in this game. Yeah,
we talked about the Eagles chip on the shoulder. Yeah,
it's all true. Yeah, the Eagles felt like they should
have won two years ago, rightfully, So yeah, because they
could have maybe should have. The Chiefs have been pointing
to this since the moment they walked off that field
last year, and to get to this point was the thing.
(15:59):
They've taking everybody's best shot all year long. And they
lost once at Buffalo.
Speaker 7 (16:05):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
And again that doesn't mean they're going to necessarily win,
mar I mean, you have the two best teams in
the league.
Speaker 8 (16:12):
Would we all agree that, yeah?
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Other than other than maybe if Detroit had stayed healthy,
I don't know, but whatever, these are the two best
teams in the league. I mean, and I don't think
anybody diegles almost once since September, and it was when
their quarterback didn't finished the game. And the teams have
lost once since last December. You don't get many Super Bowls.
I mean, I'm sure there's been a few that I
if I thought about it, that I could think this
(16:36):
is tremendous. The NFL could not have hoped. You know,
maybe again if you had Detroit in there, maybe that
would have been a good storyline. You know, for all
the things that they've gone through. This is the this
is the game. This is the game. People.
Speaker 5 (16:49):
I think a way to look in Mike, I think
the way to look at this game. He just made
an interesting point. So to me, the pressure is on
Kansas City right to go for the three in a row.
Sure it's not. It's not just sim or to what
happened in New England when they were going for the
undefeated season, and I thought they did play tight that game.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
Yes they did.
Speaker 5 (17:05):
Oh yeah, I mean you know, that's that's big time history.
That's even bigger history than going for three in a row,
going for an und I mean, that's just that's just
a crazy thing. So there's that possibility. But it would
appear as if the quarterback at least is immune to that.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
He's just championship game. He was unbeloved, but we thought
was immune today as too. You know, it looked like cos.
Speaker 5 (17:31):
In his career.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (17:33):
Man, the big of the moment, the better Kansas City
is played, and that is the scary part. So if
I'm the Eagles, what I want to do is just
due to them what they've done to most of the
teams down the stretch. Just pulverize them, beat them up,
get them to the point where where they're right, they
have nothing left for the fourth quarterly hit them off
and right. That's that's how they went anyway. So yeah,
(17:55):
you don't want you do not want a close game
where fifteen has the ball, not the finished I mean,
none of us want to see that.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
Somebody say, before the Eagles playing now, they haven't been
playing in reverse because Saquan's gotten all you know what
the Eagles are going to pass the ball early.
Speaker 8 (18:13):
That's what I think Kellen's gonna do to get.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
To the fourth quarter. To get to the fourth quarter,
and then that's when they're gonna try to unleash Saquan.
They're gonna, you know, it's gonna be okay, get me
to the fourth quarter. Maybe they got a little bit
of a leader or whatever. And then because if they
win the game, they're gonna win because they're five guys
on the front line. I mean that that's you know,
those guys are gonna win. But I think, and maybe
i'm into minority here, I think there's a lot of
(18:35):
pressure on the Eagles too. They've had this great eight
year run and they look like they're set up to continue.
I mean, you know, again we've said that about the
forty nine ers. If the Eagles were to lose this game,
not only would you have lost two super Bowls in
three years too, you know, and then you go to
one and four in Super Bowls. That's more of a
history thing. But then you become that team that people say, hey,
(18:57):
even though they won in seventeen, that was a different coach,
a different quarterback. The whole thing. This current team can't
get it over the well exactly. You become a little
bit like Buffalo, a little bit like San Francisco. Not
saying this Eagle team could be set up to win
a couple times in the next four or five years.
I don't know the quarterbacks, twenty seven or whatever the
hell he is. The coach, I don't think is going
(19:18):
anywhere anytime soon. But I mean, they got a lot
of young guys.
Speaker 8 (19:21):
They're good.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
But I do think there's a little bit of pressure
on the Eagles too, because you don't, yeah, you don't
want to be then you become the Phillies, right, You're
like they We're sitting there going man, Phillies have been
really good.
Speaker 4 (19:32):
But oh yeah, I mean it's the getting over the
hump thing. It's you, you finally have to do it,
and I mean it's it's the toughest thing. And the
Eagles haven't been able to do it. San Francisco isn't
able to do it. Buffalo, Baltimore, Cincinnati, but even now
that's like a distant pass.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
Nobody could be Kansas City.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
Think about that.
Speaker 6 (19:47):
Just Oh and by the way, Patrick Mahomes is twenty
nine years old, and think about well, they're all twenty years.
Speaker 8 (19:52):
But think about this.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
If the Eagles win tomorrow, that's two and eight eight seasons,
seven years, eight seasons. Think about that, and you went
to another one that you lost by three points at
the end. And like Dick has been saying, they're going
to put themselves in there after the Patriots as maybe
the second best team of the century. I mean, we're
(20:14):
only twenty five minutes into it, but that's a pretty
bad an down.
Speaker 7 (20:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (20:18):
No, there's no death that they've been the second best
team in the century.
Speaker 7 (20:21):
I mean, Kansas City.
Speaker 5 (20:22):
Has more Super Bowls. But they got good in the
last eight to ten years. They weren't. They were terrible
for the first ten years of the twenty first century.
They were an embarrassment util Andy Reid got there. So yeah,
it's it's all there for for the Eagles to do it.
But yeah, are the Are they just another team that
can't beat the Bulls or the dynamic team that couldn't
(20:43):
beat the Patriots? That's that's the issue. Is it doable yet?
But they got to go do it, and we're going
to make predictions going two and twelve, four and eighth.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
I said that a couple of people came up to
me yesterday I was out and they mike, you know
who do you like? Hey, well, you know the Eagles.
I gave those numbers to them. They didn't they didn't know,
Like I said, now, think about this. And then when
I told them, she's just sort of look in their face,
they were like really. I said, well, yeah, that doesn't mean,
that doesn't mean. That doesn't mean it isn't going to
be three and twelve.
Speaker 8 (21:18):
By tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (21:21):
For any new listeners to repeat with those numbers.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
Indicating Okay, here's my here's my two numbers as a
lifelong sixties soon to be sixty seven year old Philadelphia.
Speaker 5 (21:31):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
Since the Sixers won in eighty three and again to
get there, the Sixers had to lose three times in
the finals and one and once the Boston in the
game seven, then I'm not counting news in finals, counting
in the Union a couple of years ago, which John
tells me was the worst of all that.
Speaker 8 (21:49):
They're two and twelve and finals.
Speaker 3 (21:50):
So when your teams get to this spot, they win
fifteen percent of the time.
Speaker 8 (21:56):
If I got my math is fairly active.
Speaker 5 (21:58):
We're talking a World Series Family Cup.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
I wanted to do six or second round since the
Flyers won their second seventy five okay, which is the first.
Real we're four and eighteen. That's all I'm saying. So
when people ask me, well, how can you like that? Well,
I don't know, and that those games have nothing.
Speaker 8 (22:21):
To do with tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
His dick always points out rightfully so, but.
Speaker 4 (22:23):
It's an example of any anything can happen, and it's
not even though you could be confident the.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
Falow losses in ninety to ninety three, I have nothing
to do with this Buffalo team, but somehow they do. Yeah,
you know, I.
Speaker 5 (22:35):
Mean, yeah, how many as many times as we don't
think back about that? How many times was the local
team like a particularly heavy favorite in any of.
Speaker 8 (22:46):
Those seventy seven seven six ers.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
I'm not going to say for.
Speaker 6 (22:51):
Eighty eight two sixers, eight Phillies, well they won, oh
that lost, you know, he dicked, saying, like the teams
that got there were Do you only Philly's favorite over
the Yankees?
Speaker 8 (23:01):
I don't think so. I'm not sure.
Speaker 7 (23:04):
Yeah, I don't recall six six.
Speaker 3 (23:11):
Ninety seven Flyers were and they got swept two ten.
Speaker 8 (23:16):
I don't think the Flyers were.
Speaker 3 (23:18):
Uh, the these Eagles in four were not because they
were playing the You guys will appreciate this, dick. You'll
appreciate it. One of the worst bets I ever made
in my life. Nineteen eighty Eagles are going to play
the Raiders. And you know, the Eagles had beaten the
Raiders ten to seven in November here, ugly game whatever,
(23:40):
and we were, oh, the Eagle, this is great.
Speaker 8 (23:42):
And then they beat Dallas, right, and.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
We're you know, we beat them, So get to the
Super Bowl and like, I'm twenty two years old and
twenty one and the line I.
Speaker 8 (23:51):
Believe was four or four and a half something like that.
Speaker 3 (23:54):
The rare and forty guys at the day we knew
is in the sports they have picked the game. Rath
assers pick game. Two guys picked the Raiders, two, Ted
Hilary and a clerk. Right, uh, and I I can't
make this up. So about I bet one hundred dollars
on the Eagles. They came out giving four, dick, The
(24:16):
easiest bet in the world was the Raiders. But anyway,
so they come out of the tunnel before the game,
and the Eagles looked like somebody tied their their their
chinks together the Raiders come out, they're laughing too, exactly
like yeah, because they've been on Bourbon Street all week.
Speaker 8 (24:33):
I called up my guy, I said, I'll give you
one hundred dollars.
Speaker 3 (24:36):
They didn't even have to play before the game starts.
Throws in your interception on the third play of the game.
The Raiders looked like Dick Dick. I knew I had
lost before. I'm sure you've had races that you bet
were maybe like the steps out out of the gate.
But it was the worst bet I ever made. And
that was the l I said. I got all caught
(24:57):
up in the Philadelphia thing, which is fine because I'm
in Philadelphia and I'm allowed. But again, I just try
not to look at it that way anymore. By the way,
with the ninety three Phillies favored, uh no, Toronto was
defending chances. Okay, I don't think I figure that. No,
And you the other thing is, oh, I still have
a Dallas sucks button from the Dallas game in nineteen eight,
(25:20):
Well I do. They can go for a pretty And again,
the last time I've said Dallas sucks was like thirty
five years ago, because I've outgrown that.
Speaker 8 (25:28):
But I have a butt.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
I'm glad you have the thing is it's a it's
a truth.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
Now they do stay, but I take no see, I
take no satisfaction. I just cared it Nevers win. Oh yeah,
I don't care if Dallas thinks they stink. I almost
like it better when Dallas is good and then loses.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
But they definitely stand.
Speaker 7 (25:47):
Here's what we're gonna do.
Speaker 5 (25:49):
After the first break, which we're going to get to
in a bit, we're all going to give our predictions
for the game.
Speaker 7 (25:54):
All right, that's going to be the next day of
the We're gonna.
Speaker 5 (25:56):
Have Mike on golf at the top of the hour.
Speaker 3 (25:59):
Where are we just week waist management? Maybe Rory the one.
I hope somebody was.
Speaker 5 (26:06):
Mike Current all over it last week six.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
I think you've had a couple of names, but that
he was one.
Speaker 7 (26:11):
Right, that's right, you got you got it done.
Speaker 5 (26:14):
At sixteen to one, Tiger Woods is announced that he's
going to play in the Dasis, which is going to
be a Tory Pines next week.
Speaker 8 (26:22):
I believe that's right.
Speaker 3 (26:23):
Okay, that's it.
Speaker 8 (26:25):
That's the one they moved.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
That's the one they moved from l A Dick.
Speaker 5 (26:29):
Yeah correct, Yeah, right, Riviera's writing Pacific Palisades. Obviously didn't
want to hold it there, and the golf course is fine.
Speaker 3 (26:37):
But what do you think that'll do? What do you
think that'll do to the crowds with Tory pines?
Speaker 5 (26:44):
Might increase them? With LT Gray playing, it's hard to play.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
One hundred thousand tickets if you want to.
Speaker 5 (26:51):
Seventeen years since he won the US Open there on
a one to one leg, correct, two thousand and eight.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
Still right, Still. I've seen a lot of things. Okay,
I haven't seen everything, but I've seen a lot of things.
The greatest thing I ever saw an athlete do play
ninety one holes, ninety one holes against against rock O
medi Eate have to make like five times where he
had to make a birdie or it was over. He did,
(27:17):
and then he had surgery two days later to turn
his need to tapioca for six months, and he didn't
play again until the following year and he won. He won.
People told me he was faking There was people telling
me telling me.
Speaker 7 (27:33):
He was faking it.
Speaker 5 (27:34):
He was faking it.
Speaker 7 (27:35):
I didn't know that.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
Oh yeah, he was faking it. To cite the other
golfers out, I think this guy tell me that he
went he had surgery fail. I laughed. And of all
the things Tiger did in his life, and and Dix
watched about one hundred of them because he called me.
He would say, these are what Tiger's doing on you know,
ninety seven Masters, nineteen Masters, all those great things. What
(27:59):
he did those five days. The doctor said, don't play.
He said, not only am I gonna play, I'm gonna win.
I still.
Speaker 7 (28:09):
He did it.
Speaker 5 (28:11):
And and we're gonna save this for the second hour
because I want Mike to get I want like to
get properly, uh juice.
Speaker 7 (28:17):
For this what you think of the.
Speaker 5 (28:21):
Of course it does.
Speaker 7 (28:24):
Just we're not going to.
Speaker 5 (28:25):
Do this now because I again, but okay, Mike, I
assume you caught the Darryl Mory press conference.
Speaker 3 (28:31):
Dick, if you didn't bring it up, I was bringing
it up.
Speaker 8 (28:37):
Well wait, wait, wait wait.
Speaker 7 (28:38):
That's a that's a team.
Speaker 5 (28:39):
That's a team. And I talked to Sean Sean Bernard
right before I came on, and I watched like the
first half of the Sixers game last night. I didn't
have any particularly to watch the second half, but I
was watching Saint John's and Yukon at that point.
Speaker 3 (28:53):
But who won that game?
Speaker 7 (28:55):
I think Saint John's.
Speaker 5 (28:57):
Uh yeah, Ricky, he's gotta he's gonna solid basketball squad
over there.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
He's the best coach, as Dick has told me for
twenty years, he's the best coach forgetting coach cow.
Speaker 5 (29:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (29:14):
And they had an inbound a play that basically sealed
the game for him. That was a very very well
executed play. It was awesome.
Speaker 5 (29:20):
Yeah about how about that play when my man went
under the screen, he thought he was going to catch
him come into the rim and he said, I think
I'll go to the other way.
Speaker 7 (29:27):
Get a jump shot.
Speaker 4 (29:29):
Unbelievable, had a wide open jump shot from like fifteen feet.
Speaker 5 (29:32):
Pretty well done, Yeah, pretty well done.
Speaker 7 (29:34):
Saint John's.
Speaker 5 (29:36):
Rick's gonna Patina is going to be the first coach
in history to take six different teams to the NCAA tournament.
That's how good he is. Saint John's was a total
waste land and two years in he's got him in
the top ten. It's just crazy.
Speaker 7 (29:50):
But anyway, we'll have all that.
Speaker 5 (29:51):
But and we'll also again we're gonna have Super Bowl
predictions at the moment. Kansas City minus one over under
at bet Parks. I think I saw forty eight for
eight and a half. But we'll get into all that
after the break. But we need to get a we
need to get a break. I think, what's the weather
like back there today? Guys, what do we have?
Speaker 4 (30:09):
Okay, right now, I'll just say I'm glad I'm inside
Parks Casino right here in Ben Sound.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
I'm very glad. You're basically telling everybody to be in
their house by like like two or three because we're
gonna get like about nice. We're gonna get We're not
getting a lot of snow here they might, we're gonna
get that freezing nice.
Speaker 4 (30:27):
Yeah, it's worse than the snow. I got to drive
back from Jersey tonight, so that's great. I gotta help
my parents move. No, unfortunately, very busy tomorrow. Villanova Nova has.
Speaker 3 (30:42):
A game tomorrow.

The line for the Big Game tomorrow between Kansas City
(32:09):
and Philadelphia. Kansas City is a one point favorite over
Philadelphia Kansas City minus one twenty two on the money line.
Philadelphia even money on the money line. So those are
the updated spreads and lines for the Big Game tomorrow.
Go to Bedparks dot com. The only app I recommend
must be twenty one and in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio,
or Michigan gambling problem called one eight hundred gambler Dictorardi's
(32:31):
joining us the phone. My name is John Jansen here
with Kyle Nunnemaker and Mike Kern. We talked a bit
about the game and just I guess sort of laying
out the what is at stake in this game?
Speaker 1 (32:41):
But now it's who's going to win?
Speaker 4 (32:44):
I guess I'll start with you, Dick Girardi, if you
want to go over your predictions for today or tomorrow's.
Speaker 9 (32:49):
Yeah, I like the Eagles. I like them on the
money line obviously, get a little bit there, and I
wouldn't mind taking the minus one either either one on
the chance that they lose by point. You get to
push I just I'm going to try to ignore Mike
Kern's numbers, and they are a little scary.
Speaker 5 (33:08):
Numbers, the two and twelve and the four to eighteen.
I mean, I get a game, Yeah, yeah, I get it.
Speaker 7 (33:13):
I think right.
Speaker 5 (33:14):
I just want to analyze this game with these players
at this moment, with these teams, who's doing what and
all respect in the world to Kansas City. I mean,
they've done what they've done. It's been a phenomenal run
for them, and they're really good. I think the Eagles
are a little bit better, with the chance to be
a lot better because of the two lines. I think
(33:37):
certainly the Eagles defensive line has gotten better and better
as the game because the season has gone on. The
offensive line is as good as it gets, certainly in
the run game. Now, what happens on those key plays,
those key moments where it's third and six and Spags
brings a corner back from who knows where? And how
are the Eagles going to handle that? Are they going
(33:58):
to be able to have the correct antidote for those
plays and make them pay for some of those blitzes.
So yeah, I like the Eagles, and I'm a big
fan of the quarterback. He's changed completely from last year
where it was just and he wasn't the only one.
The whole team was a clown show by the end.
(34:18):
But all those turnoverseas after the bye week, you could
make a pretty good case that once they got rolling
in November, they have been the best team in football.
And Barkley is the best player in football, and it's
nice to have all that on your side. Look, I
thought they were better two years ago. They didn't win.
For all the things we've already talked about, I think
(34:40):
they're a better team. I like the Eagles minus one.
And on the money line, Mike, why don't you go next?
I think I kind of know where you're going, but
go board.
Speaker 3 (34:49):
Yeah, it's and people, of course if you say this,
you know, hey, let's like I said, understand what you're
betting into.
Speaker 8 (34:57):
That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
I'm not a better I don't bet my money. But
if I was betting my money and I bet the
Eagles and the Chiefs end up winning the game, I'm
gonna sit there on Monday morning and say I bet
against that. Like why, I've rode them for two years now,
basically every week I said, hey, you know, Buffalo go
ahead and beat them, but Baltimore go ahead. I mean
the fact that Baltimore didn't beat them last year that
(35:19):
was the worst because Baltymore had it all set up
to do. But this is who the Chiefs are. And
the Chiefs have been sitting there for two weeks. Do
we not think the Chiefs have come up with things?
Speaker 5 (35:31):
Now?
Speaker 8 (35:31):
Maybe the Eagles will come up with better things.
Speaker 3 (35:33):
Yeah, I'm not saying Vic fan Jo doesn't know what
he's doing, or Kellen Moore doesn't know what he's doing
or whatever. I'm taking the Chiefs and somebody's gonna beat them,
because they're not gonna win the next six Super Bowls.
Speaker 8 (35:44):
It might be the Eagles tomorrow. The Eagles are certainly
equipped to beat them.
Speaker 3 (35:48):
Mike Current's getting security to a score them out of here.
I don't really like I said. I they haven't let
me down in two years so and I don't think
they're gonna let me down the more.
Speaker 8 (35:58):
If they lose it.
Speaker 3 (36:00):
It ain't gonna be because they give the game away
to the Eagles. It's gonna good because the Eagles went
out and earned it and are the better and the Eagles.
Speaker 4 (36:06):
Shit and that's what makes Kanon City so good as
they make you earn again every time.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
If it's six minutes to go in the game and
it's tied and fifteen gets the ball, you know what,
I ain't gonna feel real good now. If the Eagles
are up seven and they're hitting the ball to Saquon
fifteen times in the fourth quarter, they might not give
They might not give the chance the chance so you know,
but I will take the Chips. Can't make it unanimous here,
(36:29):
because if we do that, then we'll be like ESPN.
Dick the guy Mike Greenberg who gets as much stuff
right as luci and and Davy Jones had Buffalo last
week and bemoan.
Speaker 8 (36:39):
The fact that he had taken Buffalo.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
He took the Chiefs this week, and he switched his
pick yesterday to the Eagles. It was like, three guys,
that's not a good omen. I'm just saying because all
four of those guys yes, But again that's not why.
Speaker 8 (36:52):
I did it.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
But I liked it, not liked It's a bad way
to phrase this. I will take the Chiefs from the minute.
And if Buffalo had won that game two weeks ago,
I would have I would have hesitated. I would have
emptied the bank. When the Eagles not even hesitating, I
got Kyle, Yeah.
Speaker 6 (37:12):
I'm gonna take the Eagles here. I'm going against what
you know, Mike Kern has talked about and what I've
talked about, which is, you know, take the Chiefs until
proven otherwise. But I just think the Eagles have the
overall better roster. I think the difference between this year
and last year and two years ago, is that they
(37:33):
don't make mistakes. I think in the second half, they're
gonna try their best to run Saquan as much as
they can and keep the ball out of Mahomes's hands.
If you limit the possessions that the Chiefs have on offense,
that's a solid recipe for you to to win the game.
I think they're gonna be aggressive as much as possible,
(37:54):
which is you know, going forward on fourth down, not
you know, chancing it with Jake Elliott, and I think
it's gonna pay off. I gotta go with the Eagles here. God, yes,
I am also going with the Eagles. I've liked the
Eagles to win the Super Bowl since that Kansas City
game or the Cincinnati game. Excuse me, when they beat
(38:17):
Joe Burrow and Cincinnati by like what thirty seven something?
Speaker 1 (38:21):
That was it.
Speaker 4 (38:22):
That was the game that was very telling to me
that this is a very good team. They're finally putting
it together and this is as close to I think
a Kansas City team as we've seen. So we've seen
really good teams, and Eagles probably play better. In the
twenty two season, that's when Jalen Hurst was playing like
an MVP. The offense was a jugger defense still played
really well that season, but this is this feels a
(38:45):
more mature version of that, and it feels closer to
these Kansas City teams that just can win and put
the pressure on you to make plays and to not
make mistakes, and once you do, they punish you for it.
And the Eagles have punished teams over and over again
for the smallest mistake, and that's Defensively they've been doing that,
and offensively they've been able to do that well, especially
(39:05):
with Saquon Barkley and a lot of these explosive fifty
to sixty plus yard runs. It is a very reminiscent
team of Kansas City, and I think they're It's hard
to say that they're better at playing that kind of
game than Kansas City because Kansas City has done it
and won two Super Bowls and won how many Super
Bowls in the last four years. But with the roster
the way it is with the Eagles and it being
(39:26):
overwhelmingly I think better than Kansas City. I think they
play that kind of game and that kind of style better.
They're going to have an opportunity to probably ice the
game late, They're going to be able to hand it
off to Saquon and do it. Their defense is going
to make big plays. I think it's it's kind of
the flipped role where usually it's Kansas City's waiting for
you to make a mistake. They take advantage and there's
(39:46):
no way you come back from it. The Eagles are
in that position of if Kansas City makes a mistake,
I don't know if Kansas City can come back from
it because the Eagles are that good.
Speaker 1 (39:54):
So I love the Eagles in this game. I'm so confident.
Speaker 3 (39:57):
People in general are underrested me Kansas City so much,
and I think understand why. It's because when you watch
them play, oh they've lost one game since last Christmas,
they get everybody's shot from week one, no matter who
they're playing, Denvers, Chargers, this team, that team, they take
(40:19):
the best shot. Have the Eagles gotten better and been
probably the more dominant team. Sure, you can watch TV
and say, look at what the Eagles are doing to
these teams, But the Chiefs, they're the Chiefs. They're the
Chiefs for a reason. And again that doesn't mean they're
gonna win tomorrow just because they walk out and it's
like Duke. You know, Duke doesn't win because they walk
out in the court and it says Duke on the
(40:40):
front of their jerseys. But again, somebody has to show me.
This is their fifth super Bowl in seven years. They
know all about being in this game, and they've got
fifteen and fifteen. As much as I love Jalen, and
I think Jalen's gonna have a really good game tomorrow,
and I think it's really going to come down to
(41:01):
Spags versus Kellen Moore and Fangio versus whoever you and
read that matchup will be, because there's going to be
ten or twelve plays in this game, and they're not
only going to be in the fourth quarter. They're gonna
be plays in the second quarter. That played two years
ago when Jalen fumbled the ball. Game play, but remember
to play before that. It was third and one salam
(41:21):
mule moves. They would have got the first down because
they would have went for it twice, they would have
got the first game.
Speaker 8 (41:26):
They would have had the ball. Cangacy, he go, he
does that.
Speaker 3 (41:29):
Jalen decided it was a game of all that small missake,
one little play, and then the kid. Then the puff
returned right, one little stupid play, and that's where the Chiefs,
to me, just never make the stupid plays. Maybe the
Eagles won't.
Speaker 5 (41:43):
Here's a question, Mike, here's a question for the panel.
So the Eagles felt like they had the better team
two years ago and a lot of those guys are
still on this team, right, Lane Johnson, my lotta, the
wide outs, the quarterback, a whole bunch of several of
the defensive players. How much does that matter? And people
(42:03):
always talk about the revenge game to get make it
right from a game you thought you should have won
and you didn't.
Speaker 7 (42:11):
Kyle will start with you on that.
Speaker 5 (42:12):
How much is that going to motivate the Eagles? Obviously
you're motivated to win the Super Bowl, but not only
to win it, but to beat the team that took
your Super Bowl away.
Speaker 3 (42:22):
Yeah. I think it plays a big part.
Speaker 6 (42:23):
I mean, especially on the defensive side, the way you
lost two years ago on that questionable call.
Speaker 3 (42:29):
After you put in your heart.
Speaker 6 (42:30):
And soul and stopping Patrick Mahomes and the top tier offense,
and it comes down to that, that obviously leaves a
bitter taste in your mouth for the Darius Slaves, the
Brandon Grahams, So I think it plays a big part
in that.
Speaker 3 (42:46):
And I think.
Speaker 6 (42:49):
Not only that, but these players that are on defense
and offense, while gonna stick with the defense, these players
on defense that have been in the league for a while.
Again I'm looking at Darius Slay here, who's been in
the league for a while. This is probably their last
hurrah to get a ring on their finger, and they're
still playing top tier football. So I think it plays
(43:11):
a big part. I think a big factor here is
BG coming back. I know he's listed as questionable, but
I think whole play, but even just the morale of
him coming back in this being his last hurrah. I
think these veterans that have you know, have still have
that bitter taste in their mouth from two years ago
plays a big part. And I do believe in that
(43:32):
revenge factor going into John.
Speaker 7 (43:35):
How about you on that one.
Speaker 4 (43:37):
I mean, there's definitely motivation, and as as a team,
I'm sure you talk about it. Nick Sirianni has mentioned it,
and it's something that is certainly on their minds.
Speaker 1 (43:46):
I though reserve motivation.
Speaker 4 (43:49):
Usually we talk about motivation for teams that aren't as
good like the Giants in that Super Bowl against the Patriots.
They were motivated to end that streak, like you do
it for the underdog. Can they motivate themselves to play
above what they usually play at and to play at
the level of the better team than them, Like the
Eagles don't need that motivation. Eagles are better, Like just play,
(44:10):
play your game, be laser focused, accomplish what you need
to do, execute what you need to do, and if
you do it, you're likely going to beat that team
in the other end. So I think that's that to me,
is where they have the advantages. I think they are confident.
They've been through a Super Bowl loss, and they went
through last year where they had to really figure out
themselves and and came out of that great. But once
you figure that out, I think there is a confidence
(44:33):
in they They have been here before, they know how
good they are, and they're not I don't think intimidated
by the Chiefs because I think there's a confidence that
they think they're better than them.
Speaker 1 (44:42):
I don't know. Again, I think motivation to me is
more for an underdog. The Eagles.
Speaker 4 (44:46):
I don't feel like they have the mentality. They have
the mentality of we're better and bigger, stronger, faster than
everybody else.
Speaker 5 (44:52):
I don't think the people don't remember Mike, mikember No, sorry,
remember the game. They actually beat Kansas City last year
on a Monday. Just going to bring that up.
Speaker 3 (45:01):
That was their game.
Speaker 8 (45:03):
Yeah, that was Theirs.
Speaker 3 (45:04):
They went again and they talked about it. And again
I'm not saying the Eagles are intimidated by the Chiefs.
I don't think Buffalo was intimidated by the Chiefs when
they lost them. Do we not think the Chiefs have
confidence in what they can do?
Speaker 8 (45:19):
Like we're just dismissing.
Speaker 3 (45:20):
I mean they're gonna get anything. No, no, but.
Speaker 5 (45:25):
Half a brain, half a brain.
Speaker 3 (45:28):
But what I'm saying, I feel that emotion is last
for about five minutes. You start a game, you're emotional,
and then the game starts, then you're playing the game.
Then you know, one point can change the emotional round,
like that jail and Hurts fumble. You know two years
ago that might not happen. These two teams, I think
between them have turned the ball over twice in the
(45:50):
last two months, right, so neither.
Speaker 8 (45:52):
Of them makes mistakes.
Speaker 3 (45:53):
But again you've got you're the Chiefs, and then it
might not prove to be the difference. But you're the Chiefs.
You've been who this four or five times. You don't
think we're not in the field and something maybe bad
happens that they're not gonna say, Okay, guys, you know whatever.
I just think this emotional thing with the Eagles. Yeah,
I get it. The Eagles want to win, they want
to beat the team that beat them two years ago.
(46:13):
They want to get another I get all that. That's fine.
The Chiefs are the Chiefs, and if the Eagles were
the Chiefs and had won the last two Super Bowls,
we wouldn't be giving Kansas City chance. We've been sitting
here going no, no, no, that's all I'm saying, is.
Speaker 9 (46:29):
Right.
Speaker 3 (46:29):
But but again we're just saying, well, we're not. We
aren't us here.
Speaker 8 (46:34):
We're not. But again, and.
Speaker 3 (46:35):
That's what makes this such a fascinating matchup is you
have two really really deserving teams. Either team could walk
on and one team's going for history. No, you know that.
You don't think the Chiefs have been sitting there saying,
you know, we're only gonna get one shot at this.
Speaker 8 (46:50):
They're not gonna get another shot.
Speaker 3 (46:52):
The chances are Patrick Mahomes is not gonna win two
more Super Bowls at some point and get to a
third Super Bowl. And you know, just isn't I mean?
This is this is immortality is what it is.
Speaker 7 (47:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (47:03):
And also it's it's a difference I think from two
years ago and that these are both smarter football teams.
It's almost like what you could say from any teams
that have played each other in these kind of games
for so long. The one that comes to mind is
Lebron playing Golden State and those teams in Cleveland playing
Golden State. Is that the more they played each other,
It's not like those guys got more skilled or they
(47:24):
were they were more explosive and more talented. It's more
of they got smarter and they got better those and
they've played in those games.
Speaker 3 (47:31):
I just stayed Golden State team have won seventy three games.
Speaker 8 (47:34):
Were they the better team? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (47:35):
Did they win? No?
Speaker 2 (47:37):
No?
Speaker 8 (47:37):
But every person I here to says are the better team?
Speaker 3 (47:40):
I get you, But the better team doesn't always have
to win the game.
Speaker 4 (47:45):
I just it comes to me this is these are
two experienced teams. They've been in this game before. They're
both very confident football teams. They both played mistake free football.
This is about as good of a games. Again, the
Eagles were probably more explosive, more I just see more talented.
Probably they were playing extremely I think people forget how
many records they broke and the Eagles team this year
(48:06):
they broke some like Saquon broke records, but they broke
like almost every single played.
Speaker 3 (48:10):
A different way. They're playing a different way.
Speaker 4 (48:13):
It was a it was an MVP season type season
from mer It's like it was explosive, it was crazy.
It was all these huge numbers. But this is a
I think a more stable team. This is a smarter
football team. This is a much more control yea more
control exactly.
Speaker 1 (48:28):
It's the way Kansas City has been playing for two
years now.
Speaker 3 (48:31):
This is all I'm saying is the only reason that
I will say until somebody beat teams three reasons Andy
Spadge and fifteen and again, and everybody wants to like
minimize that. No, don't minimize that at all. Everything that
the Eagles are doing this week with with their coach
and their coordinators, and they've been great, you don't think
(48:51):
the Chiefs are doing the same things and say, well,
this is what we gotta do is try to hold
Saquon down or.
Speaker 8 (48:56):
This is what we try to do.
Speaker 3 (48:57):
This is how we're gonna plit some you know, so
every thing the Eagles are saying, well, this is how
we're gonna get the Mahomes.
Speaker 4 (49:02):
You have to look at it the same way you
look at the Patriots and how the Patriots doing anything
with like Julian Edelman as their top biders. Even though
Julian Edelman's better than almost any receiver that the Chiefs
have right now. But you you look at you look
at talent some time where the Patriots go, how are
they doing this?
Speaker 3 (49:16):
Because you better, the Eagles are better at almost every position. Yes,
I don't think.
Speaker 4 (49:22):
There's very court the only the only one is court
quarter Jalens good. That's not to take away anything, right, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (49:28):
I mean you could put Jones up and say Jones
might be better than quarter at I mean, at this
point he's going to get but Scatt. The Chiefs have
the tight end. But the Eagles have a very good
tight end.
Speaker 2 (49:39):
Is it?
Speaker 3 (49:39):
Like you know, the Chiefs have something the one wide
receiver of the worthy, he's coming on, he's been better
and then but like I said last week against Buffalo.
The Chiefs beat you by throwing the third and nine
pass to number thirty four? Who does that? We won't
even talk about thirty four in the pre games if
we were doing whatever right, and that he is making.
Speaker 4 (49:56):
The biggest and all of that and all that is
your exactly right. Is it's code. It's being able to
play against your tennac.
Speaker 3 (50:02):
What the Chiefs do. And somebody has to prove to me,
and somebody will. I hope, and it's tomorrow, because I
hope there's a parade in Philly at some point.
Speaker 6 (50:12):
I think the big thing here is is the Eagles
have the more talented roster, but the most the X
factor is compared to two years ago, the Eagles have
a better recipe to to contain Patrick Mahons and that
offense because they have a better recipe to try and
keep him off the field because they didn't have Saquan
two years. They have a better defense this year. I
(50:34):
think you're never gonna stop Patrick Mahomes, but to contain
him and keep the ball out of his hands, I
think you have a better team you can accomplish.
Speaker 8 (50:42):
That, gonna stop sau exactly.
Speaker 3 (50:45):
Here's to me, Mike.
Speaker 5 (50:48):
Mike Mike, Hang on a second. Here's the thought the
Eagles running game two years ago. In that game, didn't
Miles Sanders get hurt on the first play of the game.
Speaker 6 (50:58):
He kind of, He kind of, And you can say
Miles Sanders is not even a good running back.
Speaker 3 (51:02):
It was just a productice. But again, just as much
a part of that game was a Pacheco run for
eighty r. Yeah, yeah he did.
Speaker 5 (51:08):
But the point is that the Eagles still rack up
all those yards with no essentially no running game. And now, yeah,
here's here's what I think to win the game.
Speaker 8 (51:22):
Here's what I think is going to be real important.
Speaker 3 (51:24):
If the Eagles are in second and three, second and
four a lot of the game, they're going to win
because it's going to open up everything. If the Chiefs
on first down can force the Eagles into second and eight,
second and seven, it's a different game. First down is
going to be so crewed down. Patrick makes a lot
of third down plays when they have the ball. I
(51:45):
get that he makes. But if the Eagles can keep
the situations where you don't know what they're going to do, yeah,
second and four, well, we can give the ball to
Saquan or we can have Jalen carry the ball.
Speaker 8 (51:55):
And I think Jalen's going to carry the ball like
ten times in this game. I think he's God.
Speaker 3 (51:58):
They're going to be better.
Speaker 7 (52:00):
He better and he better scramble.
Speaker 5 (52:03):
Yeah, and he better scrambled to run and not just
throw the ball away. Right, make some plays out there.
If they blitch you and they don't sack you, and
then all of a sudden you running down the field,
there's all kinds of area. Get fifteen twenty thirty yards
like you did in the game two years ago where
he was awesome running the ball, was going to.
Speaker 3 (52:22):
Win the game. I would I would suggest looking at
Jalen Hurts for the MVP. I would also suggest not
saquon AJ Brown is thirty five to one. Wow, what
if aj has eight catches nine catches? I don't know
he could you know if he gets a lot of
man coverage and they throw the ball. I'm just saying, big,
(52:43):
you want to take a shot on somebody thirty five
to one.
Speaker 1 (52:47):
Definitely a lot I do.
Speaker 4 (52:49):
I do think it's good to take a shot on
Jalen Hurts, And I think that's that to me, is
only like two seventy five plus three fifty I've seen
there's not. I think this is one of very times
where not both starting quarterbacks were the two favorites because
Sequon's above. So to me, you're getting you're getting a
(53:09):
starting quarterback and a number you rarely ever get a
starting quarterback never, right.
Speaker 1 (53:14):
Almost never. That to me is the best.
Speaker 3 (53:16):
Everybody take that.
Speaker 1 (53:18):
Absolutely.
Speaker 3 (53:19):
It's a pick them game, right, pick them game. So
if you think the Eagles are gonna win, there's at
least a fifty percent chance the Eagles are gonna win
this game. You can get the quarterback who would could
have been the m v P two years ago in
that game. Yeah, and you're getting almost four to one. No,
you gotta take I got Yeah, even if you like
Kansas City, take you.
Speaker 4 (53:41):
I think to me, it's it's one of the easiest
just looking at probability and all that, it's the easiest
bet to make. Is Jalen Hurts is the third UH
is third on the list of the m VP odds right,
But it's not to put it that way, to put
that line, like, I don't blame sports books.
Speaker 1 (53:58):
It's not that weak.
Speaker 4 (53:59):
Because Saquon Barkley is the like he's the MVP of
this team probably should.
Speaker 3 (54:02):
Have been when it's just like the MVP award wasn't
getting it, but exactly they're not.
Speaker 4 (54:09):
And again, but again I can't blame him because Saquon
was getting more VH votes than Jalen Hurts, so they
it is looked at as Saquon Barkley is the front
runner to win MVP. But I don't care what Saquon
Barkley did for eighteen to twenty games. I care about
this last one where yeah, you're giving me one game
where the quarterback has worse odds than the running backs back.
Speaker 3 (54:29):
When this Awags Baggs is going to make Jalen Hurts
beat him, I think it's gonna be a lot, even
though what Jalen did two years ago to them, which
was almost beat him because you know that last drive
when he drove the Eagles down the field, that that
was to me like amazing, and then he just gave
him the ball in the two point said here get us,
and he get it by three guys.
Speaker 4 (54:47):
And the only way I see if Jalen Hurts loses
it if because sometimes aesthetically his game doesn't look good,
and I think the RAMS is a good example of that.
Where he's like taking weird sacks. You know, why is
he holding on to the ball too long? So maybe
people will take that and will count too much because
it's it's his knee.
Speaker 3 (55:02):
Apparently his knee is not they say is not.
Speaker 6 (55:05):
Yeah, So I don't know what's Davante Smith that he's been.
Speaker 3 (55:08):
I would not, And he's had He's had three great
games against the Chiefs, seven catches, one hundred yards all
three games he's played the Chiefs, He's had at least
six catches in at least.
Speaker 4 (55:18):
So I like Davante provs for M v P. I
just don't think there's any other bed other than Jalen Jalens.
Speaker 3 (55:23):
Would you agree that that Jalen should not be thirty
three and a half to one?
Speaker 5 (55:28):
Correct?
Speaker 7 (55:29):
That's right?
Speaker 5 (55:29):
Plus three fifties a hell of a price on a
quarterback in an even money game when if their team wins,
he's even money to be the MVP or less.
Speaker 7 (55:37):
Yeah, yes, plus three fifties thing.
Speaker 5 (55:40):
But yeah, and it's just John said the reason is
because of Barkley, and that's I get, and that's understandable.
Speaker 7 (55:46):
They need to.
Speaker 5 (55:46):
Take a break when we get back Mike on golf.
Speaker 7 (55:49):
The waste management opened. Uh. By the way Saint John's.
Speaker 5 (55:53):
We were chatting before Sean Bernard mentioned him me that
after the game, they asked Patino if he thought, man,
at the beginning of the season, you're to be eleven
and one, what would you have thought? This is why
did we lose the one gaming loss? Got eleven and
they're at Villanova. Yeah, and Saint Johne's at Villanova on Wednesday.
Speaker 8 (56:15):
For those who who is the loss to? Do we
do we remember who the loss was to?
Speaker 7 (56:20):
I honestly do not.
Speaker 3 (56:22):
Umber might have.
Speaker 5 (56:24):
Been Creighton, but I'm just not sure. Uh.

That other one today is mam and nun Maker's birthday.
Speaker 3 (58:52):
Shout out with be birthday to my mother.
Speaker 7 (58:55):
I will not.
Speaker 4 (58:55):
By the way, AG it also dawned on you five
minutes ago that it was mother's birthday.
Speaker 1 (59:01):
Well, I didn't call her as soon as you woke up.
Speaker 8 (59:03):
You're doing anything nice special?
Speaker 1 (59:05):
What do you do? Just he just figured out it
was her birthday like two minutes. No I knew her.
Speaker 3 (59:09):
Birthday was today.
Speaker 6 (59:11):
I could get her anything she wants for her birthday,
but it will not suffice because I know there's one
thing she wants for her birthday and that takes place
tomorrow night.
Speaker 1 (59:19):
Oh you can't call on any favors for that one.
Speaker 3 (59:22):
Yeah, no favors for that one. Now. Hey, hey, Dick,
the guys like the view from your room?
Speaker 5 (59:27):
I thought they might. Yeah, it's a pretty nice spot.
You got gotta like Beverly Hills, my man.
Speaker 7 (59:32):
Yeah, I'm gonna.
Speaker 5 (59:32):
I'm gonna hang out on Rodeo.
Speaker 1 (59:34):
I'm not gonna like the view from my room tonight.
With all that.
Speaker 8 (59:38):
You want, Rodeo Drive just not does not strike me.
Speaker 9 (59:43):
You're not buying that.
Speaker 5 (59:44):
You're not You're not accepting that reality of me on
Rodeo Drive. I'm thirty thousand dollars carry carry bags. Yeah,
that's that's me.
Speaker 3 (59:52):
You know what you should do? Go to Rodeo driving
your haircut for like about three hundred and fifty.
Speaker 5 (59:57):
Oh yeah, I could. I could do that if I
do any good at the track tomorrow.
Speaker 7 (01:00:01):
If I do any good at the track tomorrow, I'm
betting all the Eagles.
Speaker 5 (01:00:05):
Yeah, yeah, I'm just taking it all betting on the Eagles,
and then I will be at Rodeo Drive for that
thousand dollars hair pedal on Monday. It'll be great, it'll
be awesome. My Waste Management open in Phoenix.
Speaker 7 (01:00:19):
What do we got?
Speaker 8 (01:00:20):
Okay, real quick?
Speaker 3 (01:00:21):
Before one the over underline has come down a point
since it opened. It was forty nine or forty nine
and a half when it opened. And Pete smart Money's
betting the under. I don't know what that means.
Speaker 5 (01:00:31):
I'm asking him back golf, I know.
Speaker 3 (01:00:35):
Okay, this is all you need to know about the
goth Scotti Seffler is tied for thirteenth. He's seven back
of your leader, Thomas Detri. He's the favorite they have
made my favorite he is, which speaks to the power
of Scotty Scheffler's He's plus four. I look, I told
(01:00:56):
you last week because it was Scotty's first week back.
Speaker 8 (01:00:58):
And I think he was ten.
Speaker 3 (01:00:59):
I said he was way too low, but you know whatever,
and then Rory wound up winning at sixteen. I I
Scotty have four. I just find hard to bet. I
just he's basically the same as Thomas Detrie, who's the leader.
Thomas is four and a half. Our man Tom Kim
is the third favorite. He's uh plus, my glasses are
(01:01:19):
plus eight. I'm going to give you two names. One
Justin Thomas, who actually burned my money last week, is
nine and Jordan Speeth is nine. Uh. Jordan hasn't won
while he's coming back from an injury he had, like
a wrist injury. I think last year that he had.
He gets surgery, surgery. If he told me one, I
(01:01:41):
would say. Justin Thomas skin Savage said that, you know, Scotty,
you'll probably win, will probably win by five going away,
but that would be my I just don't think Scotty
of four. But if you really like Scotty and you
think he's that good, hey, go for it and dick
one thing on the on the game tomorrow. The Chiefs,
this is amazing to me. They were the only team
(01:02:03):
that made the playoffs this year. They didn't have a
thousand yard receiver or a thousand yard Russia.
Speaker 5 (01:02:10):
Yeah I got that. And they just all the close games.
Speaker 7 (01:02:14):
They won all the close games. Yeah I know, yeah,
I hear. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:02:18):
They're one team you just can't judge by numbers other
than win loss, as you've been saying that's the only
number that ultimately matters.
Speaker 7 (01:02:26):
So on the Saint John's Talk, we were.
Speaker 5 (01:02:28):
Discussing their loss of the Big East was to Creighton
by one point. Their other two losses were early to
Baylor and double overtime into Georgia. But right now they're
playing phenomenal And yes they are at Villanova on Wednesday
for those interested, and I'm tickets. I'm sure impossible to
come by, but you could listen to it on the on.
Speaker 8 (01:02:48):
The station in South finn That is so. Oh I
didn't know that.
Speaker 7 (01:02:55):
Is that right? I said, wells Fargo, Okay.
Speaker 5 (01:02:57):
Cool, yes, okay, So Mike, We've been waiting.
Speaker 7 (01:03:03):
For an hour. You know, I'm in Los Angeles, so
I only caught bits.
Speaker 5 (01:03:08):
And pieces of it. So the six Ers major demo, mister,
he came out, and your thoughts on what he.
Speaker 3 (01:03:18):
Had to say, Well what he what he basically said was,
and I'll paraphrase here and listen.
Speaker 8 (01:03:22):
This is the first time I think Maury's talked about it.
Speaker 3 (01:03:26):
I don't know, I know, I want to get more
pissed on him. What can he say? I mean, he
can't come out and say, yeah, we should have never
signed him.
Speaker 8 (01:03:34):
I mean Dick.
Speaker 3 (01:03:34):
This week they traded two guys that they had told
you in the off season were what was it, how'd
you praise it, Kyle? Final pieces or yeah, like final pieces,
the missing pieces. They're gone, they're going. Every guy the
Sixers bring in gets hurt. I mean seriously, they all
get hurt. But to sit there and tell me that
you think is the Eagles or the Sixers general manager,
(01:03:57):
whatever you are, chief Domo's gonna be fine.
Speaker 8 (01:04:01):
Like at some point, like what are you smoking?
Speaker 3 (01:04:03):
Because I won some if you want to tell me
he's gonna be better and it's not gonna be as
bad as.
Speaker 8 (01:04:08):
This fine whatever.
Speaker 3 (01:04:10):
I mean, his knee has been I mean, we've been
talking about this for like four years now. So because
they went out and gave him a four year extension
and gave more a four year extension, by the way,
but what you and then he also said basically, we're
we're gonna win a champion, We're.
Speaker 8 (01:04:26):
Gonna compete for a championship.
Speaker 3 (01:04:27):
Is pretty much. Hey, look, I'm of the belief that
if Paul, George, Maxie, and Joe are all fairly healthy
and playing, they're a good team. They're did out, They're
a good team. They're not a great team. They're not
gonna probably play with the Celts and and the Knicks
and the Cavs and and you know whatever name some
more teams. But I don't know, Dick, like, what is
(01:04:48):
this organization? Is this organization really that organizations?
Speaker 8 (01:04:52):
What's the word? I'm delusional?
Speaker 3 (01:04:53):
Like, just I don't get that.
Speaker 5 (01:04:55):
That's a good word. I meant.
Speaker 7 (01:04:57):
All those three guys on the court last night in
Detroit there were.
Speaker 8 (01:05:00):
Yeah, but they were rusty.
Speaker 3 (01:05:01):
That's like when I read Keith got Pompey's story and
God blessed Keith. They had to cover all this well,
he just said they hadn't played together. So it was like,
it's Detroit, Detroy.
Speaker 5 (01:05:15):
Hey, you said they looked like they hadn't played together.
That looked like they hadn't played basketball. That was it
was bad.
Speaker 8 (01:05:25):
Yeah, it was bad.
Speaker 3 (01:05:26):
Thirty points they gave up seventy eight that I do
love it that. By the way, Joe went out again
for like three minutes. He hit yeah something they hit
something he I don't know, and then he came back.
Speaker 6 (01:05:39):
And also what was Paul George's finger is not going
to be completely healed for another all.
Speaker 3 (01:05:45):
The things you told me in the off season, Dick
about all the guys they signed and whatever, and it's
coming trough. It's I mean, Paul George was a great player,
very good player at a nine time All Star, and
maybe at times he's still capable of being a really
good player, but not on a consistent now when you're
making the money he's making, I mean, is how much
(01:06:07):
worse is.
Speaker 8 (01:06:08):
He than I mean, how much better than he's to
buy than Tobias House?
Speaker 3 (01:06:10):
Ye, defensively but not much. But other than that now
and you know, and again, I mean, Joe had a
triple double the other night. I think the game he
came back when he played some slop team, No they did.
They played somebody I don't remember who it was, but
he gave for more. It was it was the Mavericks
for more. Yeah, but they were playing without but they
didn't have Luke in that and well they didn't have they.
Speaker 8 (01:06:32):
Di didn't play.
Speaker 3 (01:06:33):
I mean, he was they I just find it what
for more to put that on the record. I just
think that can only come back and haunt you. But
that's maybe they don't care at this point. Ye, But
I got to lose.
Speaker 6 (01:06:46):
You don't have to come out and say we we
left up and we shouldn't have done this with it.
But you don't have to sit there and say, well,
there's you know, this is what this playoff formats for.
If we get in, then we're still gonna be complete.
How about you just you know, find him, you know,
a good middle ground and say there is We've had
our struggles. I think we're on the right path to
get these guys on the court more consiled, and we'll
(01:07:08):
go from there.
Speaker 3 (01:07:08):
There is no middle ground because if your middle ground
is hey, are we talking to the fan base like
they're stupid?
Speaker 9 (01:07:13):
No.
Speaker 3 (01:07:14):
But what I'm saying, Kyle, is if you say, hey,
we can get into playoffs, maybe we can win around
you know what? They nobody wants to hear that. They're
past that. They don't want that, so they say, you'd
rather just fill them with the Yeah, yeah, you just
you just lie people buy that. Then I then, hey,
you're already selling to the comercials on the TV on
the radio for buying some Maybe the fan base is
(01:07:34):
more stupid than I'm giving them credit for.
Speaker 8 (01:07:36):
Dick, tell me how I cannot lose my mind? Please, Dick,
did do something? Send me send me to please.
Speaker 5 (01:07:42):
Come on, Yeah, you need to you need to lose
your mind. It's just a disaster. But here's some here's
some good news for tomorrow. Something to celebrate, right, Fixers
are playing the Bucks on ABC. Uh. The broadcasting duo.
Speaker 7 (01:07:54):
Is Mike Pine and doing his last ever game.
Speaker 5 (01:07:58):
The ninety one year old legends gub and they're still
as good as ever. It's this final game he's gonna do.
I mean, this guy, it's just one of the most
amazing careers in the history, not just in broadcasting obviously,
he was a great coach at one time. So yeah,
let's favor that tomorrow as you're watching the Sixers lose
to the Bucks by twenty, it'll be great.
Speaker 3 (01:08:20):
Hey, why did they have for V's last game? Why
they have to give them the coach of the Bucks, Doc? Like,
why do they have to couldn't they have given out?
You know, come on, man, doc legend.
Speaker 7 (01:08:34):
Yeah that's right.
Speaker 5 (01:08:35):
So yeah, the Sixers and the Bucks tomorrow for those
interests and such things as they're whiling away the hours
waiting for the football game.
Speaker 7 (01:08:43):
Uh, tomorrow, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:08:46):
What the thing is to think about this because we're
gonna be talking Philly soon because you know they're they're
gonna stick catchers. If the Eagles win tomorrow, it won't
matter for like a month or so at least, like
people just really care more than a month if they lose. Well,
it's so point you guys start talking about our thing.
The best thing that's happened to the Sixers, it's the Eagles.
Nobody is paying any attention to them except real Sixer fans,
(01:09:10):
and they're gonna wake up like on Monday and say, oh.
Speaker 7 (01:09:12):
My god, yeah, twenty one, twenty one.
Speaker 3 (01:09:15):
And twenty and thirty one. I think that's what their
record is, twenty and thirty one. We're two thirds of
the way through the season.
Speaker 6 (01:09:22):
Almost Yeah, well they'd be, they'd be fifteen to twenty
games under if it wasn't.
Speaker 3 (01:09:26):
For if somebody had the audacity the other day to
say the Sixers could could. I think they were mentioning
the Celtics and the Cavs. They didn't even mention the Knicks.
Speaker 8 (01:09:34):
The Sixers are nowhere near as good as the Knicks.
Speaker 6 (01:09:37):
Nowhere near you mean, the team that's sitting behind the
Chicago Bulls right now, it's not I just I.
Speaker 3 (01:09:43):
Throw up my hands and just like, and I guarantee
you the Sixers will have a three week span somewhere.
We're gonna go like eight and two.
Speaker 7 (01:09:53):
What happen?
Speaker 3 (01:09:54):
You know, and everybody would get You're probably right, But
if they do, every buddy will get excited. Everybody.
Speaker 5 (01:10:04):
Yeah, last night was the low point of a low season.
And yeah they're still not even in the play and
yet they can't catch the bulls.
Speaker 7 (01:10:11):
They the bull they.
Speaker 6 (01:10:13):
Can't catch the balls. And they did go on an
eight and two street, they'd still be six games under.
Speaker 5 (01:10:19):
Right, and the nets are starting to close on them.
Speaker 8 (01:10:21):
So yeah, I go back to last year.
Speaker 3 (01:10:24):
I go back to last year when the Sixers got
and Joe played, came back and they won the seven
or eight games, and they and you and I sat
there and said, this is a bad matchup. What do
you mean a paying matchup? What do you mean pay
a matchup? They look, it's a bad matchup. The Knicks
are tough. And then the Knicks lost like three players
(01:10:44):
and it still and when they take him out in
five I think they took him out in five, right,
And that was with Joe scoring fifty in one game
and Max you winning the game by himself.
Speaker 7 (01:10:56):
Si, you're right, You're right, and the Wells Fargo right.
Speaker 8 (01:11:02):
Yeah, the only reason, the only reason to.
Speaker 5 (01:11:06):
Tune in right now is Max and he's playing great.
I mean putting up what twenty five the game every
every at least every night, sometimes forty. But Paul George
is a shell of whatever he was an NB. Yeah,
who knows what's gonna happen him from one minute the next.
Speaker 3 (01:11:22):
Cale Martin's on another team now, and the other guy
they traded this week, he's on an jack.
Speaker 8 (01:11:27):
Do you do you realize this is how bad the
Sixers are. They made this trade to get rid of it.
Speaker 3 (01:11:31):
I think it was Martin. They might have to give
another draft pick up because Martin's hurt because he didn't
pass like so they may have to give the team
another draft pick. Are you kidding me? Really? Come on,
if you switch game six, Dick, they were up three
(01:11:54):
with five minutes ago against its.
Speaker 5 (01:11:56):
Yeah, John here, do you have any thoughts on the
state of your professional basketball team in this town?
Speaker 3 (01:12:05):
Professional lately?
Speaker 9 (01:12:07):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:12:10):
I don't know how you can.
Speaker 4 (01:12:12):
It's funny that Darryl Moore's like, if you squint hard enough,
you could see a championship team. I could I could
look into the Hubble telescope, it couldn't find it. No,
I like, it's you have no hope, John, No, none.
And I didn't see this number. And our guy Mark
Henry Junior is gonna have be on at eleven.
Speaker 5 (01:12:28):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:12:29):
There was a number of like the six or six
and one when they had Maxi embian and Paul George
on the floor. But also this the more staggering number.
There was only seven games together. But this this team, Okay,
it's somewhat good when they're on the court, I get it,
and that is that is something that you know, Okay,
maybe they can be good, but it's only seven times,
and that means that they haven't had a lot of
(01:12:51):
playing time. And I think it's eight games now, but
they haven't had a lot of playing time between the
start of the season and the playoffs. I just don't
know how how this is all going to get together
so fast that it's all of a sudden gonna work
once they do get into there.
Speaker 1 (01:13:04):
I hate to tell you, it's it's such a far read.
Speaker 6 (01:13:06):
They're never gonna all consistently be on the course because
Embiid can't play back way George's still here and to the.
Speaker 1 (01:13:14):
Rest of the season. They have to play a lot together.
Speaker 3 (01:13:16):
I don't know if you saw this, but there was
something this week where Joe actually came out and said
he's going to play like all the games. Ok. Like
he basically said he can't.
Speaker 7 (01:13:25):
You know.
Speaker 6 (01:13:25):
I was about to say, that's what about the game
he came back and had a thirty points triple double
and then had to and then he couldn't play that,
And it's a shame.
Speaker 4 (01:13:32):
Like embiide, I'm sure and Bee's intentions are there to
want to play, it's his body can't physically handle it, right.
Speaker 3 (01:13:38):
And the other thing is if you get it, if
you are of the opinion that they can somehow make
a playoff run, let's just say whatever, You're going to
now play what fourteen games, eighteen games?
Speaker 8 (01:13:48):
Whatever?
Speaker 3 (01:13:48):
How guys that only played six or seven games all
of a sudden going to play that many games. They're
gonna gel together.
Speaker 6 (01:13:54):
It can't happen, not under the opinion, but under the
delusion that they're gonna make a playoff.
Speaker 5 (01:14:00):
Him and Mike.
Speaker 7 (01:14:05):
This is not going to be the year for the Sixers.
Speaker 3 (01:14:07):
You don't think, uh, I think they get over the
hump this year, if the Washington Wizards that not making
the washings for the ten seeds. In the last forty years,
the Sixers have made one more second round than the
Wiz I think I'm pretty sure that's right. That's that's
(01:14:28):
maybe the Wizards did make The Wizards probably made it,
not the ADNY making.
Speaker 8 (01:14:32):
I don't think the Wizards have made the third round
in forty years out of it.
Speaker 3 (01:14:35):
Probably not. I mean, but how can you be compared
to that?
Speaker 7 (01:14:42):
Like, you can't.
Speaker 3 (01:14:43):
It's not in the city like Philadelphia that values basketball,
and and you know, and and you have this player
who's going to the Hall of Fame. I mean, Joe's
going to the Hall of Fame. He won an m
v P, he almost won two three more right, he
had a four year run that was as good as
almost anybody's played the game. And you can't get past
the second round.
Speaker 6 (01:15:04):
The two D words dysfunctional, delusional, I and Darryl and
Darryl three D when they.
Speaker 3 (01:15:14):
Were up, When they were up in Game six, I
was seriously sitting there and I saying, Okay, on Saturday,
I'm gonna have to apologize because you know, they did
five for five minutes. I was thinking I might have
to apologize, and then I said, nah, that was just yeah,
and for people forgetting it. In Game seven, it was
a one point game early in the third quarter.
Speaker 6 (01:15:33):
That's by thirty Yeah, because a PJA talker was unconscious
from three in the first half.
Speaker 1 (01:15:38):
He single handedly kept them in that game.
Speaker 3 (01:15:40):
He got traded this week. He got traded again this week.
Da Yes, Miami.
Speaker 4 (01:15:46):
All now, And I think last night is very telling.
And even though there are some signs who are like, yeah,
this could be a high ceiling maybe for this team,
in some ways, there's a very low ful the lowest
floor I think we've seen for a six Ers team
thirty That's what I mean in that, even though because
(01:16:06):
E Beat hasn't played a lot today, like when they
are on the floor together, you think, okay, maybe there
is like a higher ceiling here than the twenty and
thirty one record shows. But this Ben last night shows
like there is a very low low we haven't seen.
Speaker 3 (01:16:20):
Six Like, hey, Dick, I gotta ask you and a
Beat can't jump, what did you think of a whole
Luca thing.
Speaker 5 (01:16:29):
I found the whole thing fascinating. It sounds to me
like somebody in Dallas is very just thought ultimately that
getting to the finals last year was a kind of
a fluke. They didn't buy that it was real. They
don't accept that Luca is a guy who you can
build a team around and win because he's not in
(01:16:53):
shape too often, therefore he gets hurt too often. He
doesn't guard anybody, and they just said, we can't win
this way, so we're going to try to win another way.
Get one of the great defensive players in the league
played defense, and hopefully have a window for a couple
of years to win. But it's astonishing to me in
(01:17:16):
a league where stars are everything, those kind of players,
you just don't see them getting traded. So it's a
huge risk, you now you you really don't a huge
marketing risk.
Speaker 7 (01:17:32):
A huge potential competitive risks.
Speaker 5 (01:17:36):
But yeah, clearly the general manager and other people down
there had made the decision regardless of the fact that
they made the finals last year, so they couldn't win
with him, And I don't know what was going on
behind the scenes. I suspect it was not good. They
just didn't like some of the things he was doing,
the way he went around every time he would get hurt.
He put on twenty or thirty pounds.
Speaker 3 (01:17:57):
So exactly.
Speaker 5 (01:17:58):
Yeah, that was it, And they did make it sound
like that found this a little weird. So like, Luca
is that much better than Anthony Davis, Well, he's really not.
The big difference is the ages. The age is the
difference is what six years difference? That's that's the one
the people go. But Anthony Davis actually won something. He
(01:18:18):
won a championship in college's one another in the NBA.
He's a great player. But yeah, I was I didn't
see it coming. I don't think anybody saw it coming.
Speaker 7 (01:18:28):
Clearly.
Speaker 5 (01:18:28):
In Dallas, they had made the decision that they could
not win a championship with Luca. That's that's the only
reason they would have made that true.
Speaker 8 (01:18:36):
And first all, they're different players.
Speaker 3 (01:18:38):
I mean they're obviously Luca.
Speaker 8 (01:18:41):
I didn't realize this.
Speaker 3 (01:18:42):
Luca is only the third player in NBA history to
average or he's got the third between I think it
was Chamberlain and Jordan or the other two guys who
had scored slightly more average than him up to l
like this, which to me is I think what the
Lakers look The way the Lakers looked at it was
we're getting our start in the future, and the Lakers
(01:19:02):
always have to have a star. That's that's who the
Lakers are. The magic Kobe shot. Now they got this guy,
and I think that's the way they looked at it.
And I think there is some baggage with Luca. But
and they did make the Western Finals, I think Dick
either two or three years ago.
Speaker 5 (01:19:20):
But yeah, they've been they've been very competitive. But again,
I think I think it was a basketball decision based
on something that they saw in Dallas that they just
didn't like for the long term, and over the summer
they were going to have to commit to him forever.
Speaker 7 (01:19:36):
Right, it was, yes, this is it.
Speaker 5 (01:19:37):
We got to get all the money, and he's our
guy for the he's our n beat right, we gotta Yeah, I.
Speaker 4 (01:19:44):
Think didn't they also have concern he wasn't going to
maybe even stay or want that.
Speaker 3 (01:19:48):
Oh No, I think he was because he could have
got the max there. Yeah, he he just lost a
hundred million dollars by going to the Lakers. Although they
can they can fiddle faddle with that. But I just, hey, Dick,
the easiest bet we've had in a while. It was
last year when when Dallas made the finals, and you
and I looked at and said Celts, Yeah, there was
(01:20:09):
no way. It was great what they did. Oh yeah,
it was great what they did to get there.
Speaker 5 (01:20:15):
But my guy, that was like, no, they got a
break not getting Denver in the Western Finals because that's
a bad matchup for them, and they got a great
matchup in Minnesota with their their big guys. But yeah,
they just wasn't going to work. They're big guys, are
going to be useless to have the Celtics than they were.
And look, Lucas one of the all time break.
Speaker 7 (01:20:34):
As you just mentioned, my offensive talents in the history
of the NBA. There's no there's nobody argue at that point.
Speaker 5 (01:20:39):
I mean, he's phenomenal, but yeah, I mean he was
exposed in the finals that he couldn't guard anybody. They
just they just every time down, they just targeted him
the whole series.
Speaker 3 (01:20:49):
In Yeah, they leads the NBA, he leads the NBA,
and people to go around him. Seriously, there's a stat
like when you get beat off the dribble and his
guys beat him like sixty eight percent the time.
Speaker 8 (01:21:01):
It's not it's yeah, he's.
Speaker 5 (01:21:04):
Just not a great athlete. He never will be. But
he's a phenomenal basketball player. But yeah, not many people
would have had the heart to trade a guy like that.
Speaker 7 (01:21:12):
No, I will say that that doesn't happen in this
in the in the world we live in. It just does.
Speaker 3 (01:21:18):
He's twenty five years old. He's been first Team All
NBA five times, I believe. Yeah, to me, that's he's
been playing pro since he was like thirteen. But this guy,
you think, if you know, if his shape doesn't get
to him, if that's not the bigger problem, he's got
another decade of this. Yeah, he's he's only twenty five.
Speaker 5 (01:21:40):
Yeah, that's the other decision they clearly made. They said,
you know what if.
Speaker 7 (01:21:43):
He's out of shape, now, what's he going to be
like in five years? Yeah, I think that all went
into it.
Speaker 5 (01:21:48):
Well, you know, look over time, we'll see He's right
And you're right about the Lakers.
Speaker 7 (01:21:52):
They saw the post Lebron Anthony David Heart.
Speaker 5 (01:21:55):
I didn't like what they were saying, saying, we need
we need a Magic or career game or Kobe or
Shock or you know, they've always had the star player Lebron.
Speaker 7 (01:22:04):
Now that's just that's their history of their thing.
Speaker 5 (01:22:07):
We're going to take a break, our final break, and
then we'll be back to finish up.

And joining us in the Gambler hotline is Dick Girardi.
And before we get into some more Eagles talking Super Bowl,
I do want a real quick ask you guys. I
(01:24:00):
don't know if either of you two have voted for
an MVP type award, but just thoughts on Josh Allen
winning over Lamar Jackson and the rationale I guess from
a lot of people on why.
Speaker 7 (01:24:13):
You want to go?
Speaker 5 (01:24:14):
I was surprised, Now I'll go first there. I was surprised.
I thought Jackson were wanted on the basis of the
numbers that he put up, which were obviously better than Allen's.
But the voters obviously said, you know what, Allan is
playing with a lot lesser talent around him, and he
put up this incredible season, and I suspect that was
the rationale for why he won the award.
Speaker 7 (01:24:35):
I don't have that.
Speaker 3 (01:24:35):
Yeah, that's one.
Speaker 7 (01:24:36):
I mean, yeah, they both had great seasons, and it
cood for.
Speaker 5 (01:24:40):
Josh Allen to win an MVP award. I'm sure prefer
to have won the last football game and please playing tomorrow.
But yeah, I thought it was fine. I had no
issue with it.
Speaker 8 (01:24:48):
Mike, what do you think MVPs have become?
Speaker 3 (01:24:51):
Like it's a story kind of a narrative, Like I
remember you, guys, Andre Dawson one time playing for the
last place Chicago Cubs won an MVP.
Speaker 8 (01:25:00):
He had a great year.
Speaker 3 (01:25:01):
But again you're asking me, like, and this is why
I always said why saqual won't win it? And you
got the offensive. The quarterback has the ball in his
hands every play. Every play, you know, Saquan's touching it
twenty times or whatever, and he could be breaking the
game open with a run. To me, the Most Valuable
Player every single week is fifteen. But you can't give
(01:25:23):
it to him because you know, you look at his numbers.
He is the Chiefs won't even be in the playoffs
right now. You can make the argument that Buffalo won't
be in the playoffs. You could make the argument that
you know, Baltimore won't be nearly as good without You
can make the argument on all these guys. But to me,
so that's where most Valuable Player kind of it's your judgment,
my judgment. You know who's the And I think they
(01:25:44):
kind of gave it to Josh for the reasons that
Dick said, you know, this was supposed to be a
kind of a rebuilding year for them. But the numbers
that Lamar put up, what was he forty two and
four something like that, I mean it was better than
the two.
Speaker 8 (01:25:58):
Years he won the MVP.
Speaker 3 (01:26:00):
Yeah, way better. So I don't know how like Lamar
feels about. Does Lamar feel like he was ripped off of?
Does Lamar say, I got too and I really want
to win a World championship, which is what they all
want to do, and that the great thing about Jalen
is and Jalen could have won it two years ago.
You know, if he hadn't missed those two games, he
might have won it. If Jalen wins tomorrow, he's if
you were having a draft tomorrow of NFL quarterbacks, Jalen's
(01:26:21):
not getting taken above those four guys, you know, in
whatever order you're.
Speaker 8 (01:26:25):
Going to take them. And some guy might tell me
to charge this guy whatever, but he'll he'll have a ring.
Speaker 3 (01:26:29):
None of those guys have rings except for Mahomes, And
that gives Jalalen something. I think people will look at
him a little differently if they lose tomorrow, not that
it might not be his fault. It wasn't his fault
two years ago, despite the fumble. I mean, it wasn't
his fault. But again, rings are what people kind of
look at you. You know, Eli Manning would never even
(01:26:50):
have a chance to get in the Hall of Fame,
but those two super Bowl runs he did them.
Speaker 8 (01:26:56):
And you know, and I think Jalen's going to win
a Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (01:27:00):
Doesn't even if he doesn't win, Damar, I think before
he retires, but you know, he that's just you know,
to me, you could have made an mvb CA Yeah,
excuse me, MVP case for Saquan, although I think I
would argue that the Eagles still would have been a
good team without Saquan because of what their defense did.
Speaker 7 (01:27:17):
And on and on and on.
Speaker 3 (01:27:18):
But he was but he you know, he had a
monster year and he should have got the Offensive Award. Yeah,
that was he had, you know, and he's probably should
have breaken the broken the record if.
Speaker 8 (01:27:26):
They would have led him.
Speaker 3 (01:27:27):
But yeah, if they walk off the field tomorrow and
the confetti's green and white, Saquan ain't going to care
about that that record, Lamar.
Speaker 6 (01:27:35):
At the same time, I think the big thing Omar
is thinking about right now is Mark Andrews dropping that
two point conversion.
Speaker 3 (01:27:41):
I think he's more concerned about that.
Speaker 8 (01:27:43):
But his two turnovers didn't help Eeter.
Speaker 3 (01:27:45):
Yeah, no, you're right.
Speaker 6 (01:27:46):
I mean, you're right, but I just made him that game.
In general, I think that that's more meaningful about this.
Speaker 3 (01:27:51):
Jalen's playing in the second Super Bowl and he's like
in his fifth year, I think as a starter. The
other two guys haven't even been to a Super Bowl
because of number fifteen. Yeah, and that's what we're asking
marill is the only But that's what we're asking Jallen
to beat tomorrow. Yeah, that's what we're in.
Speaker 5 (01:28:06):
And I'm I'm gonna pose a riddle here.
Speaker 7 (01:28:10):
Everybody knows where I am. Everybody knows where I am today, right, Yes,
here's the riddle.
Speaker 5 (01:28:15):
What does this represent? One hundred and forty nine wins
and two losses?
Speaker 7 (01:28:22):
Us?
Speaker 1 (01:28:23):
Is that Wooden?
Speaker 3 (01:28:25):
John Wooden's home record correct.
Speaker 5 (01:28:29):
John Wooden's record at paul A Pavilion, one hundred and
forty nine at.
Speaker 8 (01:28:33):
Sou What if I can gets the two losses?
Speaker 3 (01:28:36):
Oh yet that I don't know that.
Speaker 7 (01:28:39):
I don't know the answer.
Speaker 8 (01:28:40):
I think USC might have been one of them.
Speaker 3 (01:28:42):
Oh oh no, no, that would be non conference games also,
right correct?
Speaker 8 (01:28:47):
Yeah, I have to love Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:28:50):
So Paula Pavilion opened in nineteen sixty seven, sixty yeah,
sixty seven, and his last year was seventy five, so yeah,
basically a decade.
Speaker 1 (01:29:01):
Did you name the two lost?
Speaker 5 (01:29:02):
You know?
Speaker 7 (01:29:04):
Yeah? I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:29:04):
I was thinking USC might have been one of them,
but I'm not. I know they lost one year when
Walton was there. They went to Oregon and lost to
Oregon in Oregon State. But that was on the road,
So that was the year they won.
Speaker 5 (01:29:16):
That was the year they won.
Speaker 7 (01:29:17):
You know, I finished off the eighty eight game.
Speaker 3 (01:29:18):
Winning streak, right, I do have two losses.
Speaker 8 (01:29:22):
Oh, John's gottahead.
Speaker 1 (01:29:25):
Not only one lost to USC, two to you.
Speaker 8 (01:29:29):
I was pretty USC, but I didn't know it was both.
Speaker 5 (01:29:32):
Yeah. Where they were they slow down games like forty
to thirty eight kind of a game.
Speaker 1 (01:29:37):
That I want to look up.
Speaker 8 (01:29:39):
Hey, Dick, where did they play before before, Paulie?
Speaker 3 (01:29:42):
Because they won two championships, right, sixty four sixty five
they won the championship they had they.
Speaker 5 (01:29:48):
Had a little gym on campus that they played some games,
and they played a lot of them in the old
Sports Arena, which is right next to the coliseum where US.
Speaker 3 (01:29:55):
Okay, and the thing that you would know and I would,
and these guys, if freshmen were eligible in nineteen sixty six,
US would have won what would have been eight or
nine in a row.
Speaker 8 (01:30:08):
I guess the number would have been ten ten.
Speaker 7 (01:30:12):
Yeah, they won it.
Speaker 5 (01:30:12):
Yeah, yeah, because again got mad here that Penn State
UCLA at four o'clock. UCLA's history, they won in sixty
four and sixty five. They didn't have a single player
taller at sixty five. Like a bet that in Philadelphia's
Walt Hazzard was part of the first title.
Speaker 3 (01:30:29):
He was great Bill Goodridge, right, Gale Goodridge.
Speaker 7 (01:30:32):
Thirty six correct Dale Goodrich. Uh.
Speaker 5 (01:30:35):
And then in sixty six freshman not eligible, as Mike said,
Texas Western on the title at Colfield Elson the University
of Maryland. Then they won seven in a row, and
then they lost one, and then they won one more.
And to tell you the John Wooden effect, so ten
titles in twelve years. In the intervening fifty years, UCLA
(01:30:55):
has won one championships.
Speaker 8 (01:30:58):
And we were there.
Speaker 7 (01:31:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:31:02):
But so when al Cinder, when al Cinder was a freshman,
he scored fifty three against the varsity.
Speaker 7 (01:31:09):
Correct.
Speaker 3 (01:31:10):
So I'm guessing, did you see how many games did
he did lou lose?
Speaker 7 (01:31:15):
Dick?
Speaker 3 (01:31:15):
Was it two in his three three years?
Speaker 7 (01:31:17):
Eighty eight and two in three years?
Speaker 3 (01:31:22):
And he went on to have a pretty good career.
Speaker 8 (01:31:24):
Ye see where he lost?
Speaker 3 (01:31:25):
He lost the Houston the one game Elvin Hayes and
I don't know what the other one.
Speaker 8 (01:31:30):
Yeah, it would have been USC.
Speaker 7 (01:31:32):
It was a slow down game.
Speaker 8 (01:31:34):
Yeah, Yeah, it was funny, Dick.
Speaker 3 (01:31:40):
That was on the other night they were doing ESPN
that this thing they did on the Southeast Conference was
a really good thing. And they were showing that game,
the Texas Western Game against Kentucky and Kentucky I think
it only lost twice that year. And the funny thing
that somebody bought up was if Duke had beat in
Kentucky in the semifinals, they would have had Nold White
(01:32:01):
starting five. Also, like everybody brings up the fact that
Kentucky had Nold White starting five, well they weren't.
Speaker 7 (01:32:06):
The only ones. Yeah that's right, Yeah, that's exactly right.
And pat Rally was on that Kentucky.
Speaker 1 (01:32:12):
Yes, you was the way we have the two laws.
I think I found it.
Speaker 3 (01:32:15):
Where are you at that game? The Texas Western game?
I was there, man, Yeah, I thought you were Yeah, I.
Speaker 7 (01:32:21):
Thought you were a kid, but I saw it. Yeah,
I was in attendance.
Speaker 4 (01:32:26):
First, the first loss came in the sixty eight sixty
nine season. So these are all poly Pavilion, which opened
June nineteen sixty five. So the first loss came to
USC in March eighth of nineteen sixty nine, very low scoring,
forty four to forty six loss. Wow, ex extremely low scoring.
The next one a little bit different. This was in
(01:32:49):
March sixth of nineteen seventy. So almost a year later,
USC won that one eighty seven to eighty six, So the.
Speaker 8 (01:32:57):
Two losses were by three points.
Speaker 5 (01:33:00):
Correct to their crosstown yeah, which used to have a
lot of Paul Westball was a star for USC back
in the day NBA Hall.
Speaker 3 (01:33:10):
John wouldn't, John wouldn't. I mean, look, I know he
had great players. I mean, I get the fact that
he had the best player in college basketball for like
eight straight years, but you know, and people forget the
two he won between a Cinder and Walton. It was
Sidney Wicks and Curtis Row. They were very good players,
but they weren't you know, they weren't like the best
players in college basketball.
Speaker 5 (01:33:31):
One forty nine and two.
Speaker 3 (01:33:34):
That's unbelievable.
Speaker 7 (01:33:36):
I mean serious, I mean.
Speaker 5 (01:33:38):
What I mean, it's crazy. And I was wandering around
the hallways just to that. I was in Paula Didaion
years ago, just wandered in. But I've never seen a.
Speaker 7 (01:33:46):
Game, so looking forward to that this afternoon.
Speaker 5 (01:33:49):
But yeah, John wouldn't.
Speaker 7 (01:33:51):
I mean, there's kind of legends and sports and he's
kind of like all by himself, right, ten.
Speaker 5 (01:33:56):
Titles in twelve years and eighty eight game winning and
eighty eight.
Speaker 3 (01:34:03):
Do you realize this indefeated seasons, this will be thirty
years since Harrick won that title.
Speaker 5 (01:34:11):
I know, yeah, I mean it about you, right, yeah, Now,
UCLA was the gold standard and since then, you know
they've been in multiple final fours, right Kevin Love and Russell.
Speaker 8 (01:34:22):
Well, yeah, they were some good teams.
Speaker 5 (01:34:24):
And they were right. They were there just a couple
of years ago and they lost the Gonzago on the
long shot. You know, it's fascinating about UCLA too, and
going off a little bit of a tangent here, but
if you think about some of the great players that
have been there, in addition to Kareem and and Bill Walton,
I mean, there's just legendary players and guys. I don't know, John,
(01:34:44):
I don't know if you would know this or Kyle,
but very prominent in Paulitavillion is the number forty two
that stands for Jackie Robinson, who played three.
Speaker 7 (01:34:53):
Sports at ucl R.
Speaker 5 (01:34:55):
He was a football player, basketball player, and obviously a
legendary baseball player. So and Raper Johnson, the great the
cathlete of the nineteen sixties. I mean, you could make
the case of UCLA has had the greatest collection of
athlete of any school, maybe Ohio State with Jack Nicholas
and Jesse Owens and being the hunt, but not not
very many others would be.
Speaker 8 (01:35:14):
There with ye and something else too.
Speaker 3 (01:35:18):
And you know more Banyon brothers who were there when
I guess when they won the title with Harry weren't
partly weren't they partly responsible for like bringing about the
lawsuits that brought about.
Speaker 7 (01:35:28):
The nil not not not partly but totally.
Speaker 5 (01:35:32):
Yeah, the other lawsuit change has changed college sports forever.
Right now players can get paid Instead of being paid
under the table, they can be paid over the table.
Speaker 3 (01:35:41):
It's yeah, that was because what the game that they
had out, the players weren't getting any money from that game,
the EA game or whatever game like the NCAA basketball
and that's what they sued about.
Speaker 7 (01:35:51):
Yeah, yeah, that's exactly how it started.
Speaker 5 (01:35:53):
Yeah, no, it's but them athletes finally semil Wait a second,
everybody's making money there, except that never made sense, not anymore,
is correct? All right, So we got a couple of
minutes left, guys, we'll do around the horn here.
Speaker 7 (01:36:11):
Kyle will start with you, just final.
Speaker 5 (01:36:13):
Funts on the football game, and obviously we'll be rehashing
it best with But your.
Speaker 7 (01:36:19):
Final thoughts is where I don't know what's six thirty.
Speaker 5 (01:36:22):
Tomorrow, we're getting We're getting closed. It's actually going to
happen tomorrow in the worlds.
Speaker 6 (01:36:27):
Yeah, yeah, So I've been saying the the reason both
these teams these teams are here are they both don't
make mistakes. Somebody's gonna make a mistake tomorrow, and that's
gonna be the defining factor. Whether it's an interception, a fumble,
some stupid penalty, and a critical moment in the game. Uh,
(01:36:51):
that's gonna be the defining factor. Along with from the
Eagles perspective, limiting Patrick Mahomes possessions in the second half,
I think they have the rest Pea dousa with Saquon
and Jalen Hurts running the ball, taking up time, nice
long drives, yes, but don't break, and the Eagles staying aggressive,
(01:37:12):
you know, not being you know, erratic, but in there's
fifty to fifty moments, I think you gotta go for
it because you got to be aggressive.
Speaker 3 (01:37:21):
To be at a team like this in Kansas City.
Speaker 6 (01:37:24):
So with that being said, I think the defining factor
is somebody will make a mistake.
Speaker 3 (01:37:29):
Tomorrow. I hope it's Kansas City and that's gonna determine
who wins tomorrow. Mike, Yeah, I hope it's a reapi
two years ago with a different ending. Even though, like
I said, if it was my money, I take the
Chiefs until somebody proves me wrong.
Speaker 8 (01:37:45):
I hope it's not controversial.
Speaker 3 (01:37:46):
I don't want it to be, you know, I want
it just when it ends, people are gonna say this
team monitor just team didn't. And I hope, and I
mean this sincerely, it doesn't come down to an Elliott
field goal because unless he makes it, because I like Elliett.
I've always been a fan of legend and he's taken
a lot of hits this year for you know, for fair.
But whatever, if that game ends on a missed Elliott kick,
(01:38:08):
I mean, I just I couldn't take it.
Speaker 8 (01:38:11):
I can't take it.
Speaker 3 (01:38:13):
I just hope if it's a replay, like I said,
if the game two years ago with a different ending,
and there's a parade here somewhere after the snow stops,
because I think if the Eagles lose this game, I
really think this city because of where the Flyers are
and the Sixers are and nobody cares about the Phillies
yet because it's way too early. We're going to be
in like a depression for a couple of weeks to
(01:38:36):
a month, and I don't need any more depressions. Oh yeah,
how many teams we got in March madness. I'm sorry,
I'm not gonna want to watch sports for a good
month or two.
Speaker 1 (01:38:46):
The Big zero.
Speaker 4 (01:38:50):
John, Yeah, I've loved the Eagles all season long, especially
you know, since after the bye week and a few
games after that. Again, the game in Cincinnati really stood
out to me. I think they're the better team in
this game. I think they play a really mature game
of football. It's almost reminiscent of Kansas City, where it's
not always flashy at times, but they're they're so talent,
(01:39:12):
never so good.
Speaker 1 (01:39:13):
Great, great coaching.
Speaker 4 (01:39:15):
Nick Sirianni, you think has been getting better and better
as a coach, and I think he's been awesome during
the postseason. Hurts is good enough, the wide receivers are great,
running back is amazing, offensive line is fantastic, and I
think it's all gonna be good enough and score enough points.
And again, I think the roles are reversed here. Usually
it's Kansas City going into a game and it's it's
you know, the opposing team can't make a mistake. I
(01:39:37):
think Kansas City's in the spot where they can't make
a mistake against this Eagles team. It is too good.
They're that much better than Kansas City. I'm not going
to back off of it. I think the Eagles are
the better team and they're winning the Super Bowl. I'm
probably gonna say somewhere twenty seven to twenty three.
Speaker 3 (01:39:50):
Eagles force a few fumbles because that's what they've been doing, right, Yeah,
just stripping the ball from it.
Speaker 4 (01:39:55):
I actually liked an interception as well, because Patrick Mahomes
is gonna have to make a a lot of plays
and the thing about Kansas City's offense is they're not explosive.
So it's it's basically Mahomes being the smartest football player
on the field all the time. And he can do that,
and it's amazing that it can be both this incredible
athlete with his big rocket arm, but also he can
be the smartest quarterback like Brady was for all those years.
(01:40:17):
So it's all credit to Patrick Mahomes. And you know,
it's really hard to do it against.
Speaker 3 (01:40:21):
Talking about Dick was talking about making some runs like
not you know, getting making some runs. Patrick Mahomes the
last couple of weeks. And he's not as good as
runner as Jalen I mean, you know, he just isn't.
But man, did he make things happen against the Bills.
Speaker 4 (01:40:38):
And one one part of this matchup I really like
is they they have to do that because they don't. Again,
they don't go down the field a lot. It's all
at the line of scrimmage or below it quick screen. Yeah,
and the Eagles, So there's not much I can take
away from that. Washington defense does not give up that.
They are very downhill aggressive defense. So I think that
plays very well to what the Eagles defense does.
Speaker 7 (01:40:59):
So I like that.
Speaker 4 (01:41:00):
The only way you counter that, though, is you use
you utilize every option you can at the line of
scrimmage to make those plays and to maybe get the
Eagles and catch them off guard.
Speaker 1 (01:41:09):
And the way to do that is a run patch
pome So that's why I like a lot of that.
Speaker 6 (01:41:13):
He killed Buffalo with those little read option The entire
first drive is a Reid option drive.
Speaker 3 (01:41:19):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (01:41:19):
But Mahomes ran it just ridiculously.
Speaker 3 (01:41:21):
We breaking plays.
Speaker 1 (01:41:23):
He is so good and I'm thinking Eagles, but I
just Mahomes is really good.
Speaker 5 (01:41:28):
It's fascinating when you I know we talked about this
maybe last week, but you think about the origin of
this Kansas City, what right it was. They were the
big play team right where they had night re kill
absolutely when they won their first Super Bowl, and they
are completely different than that now. Like the team that
beat Baltimore last year. They beat them by doing exactly
what Kyle just said. They were two yard passes, five
(01:41:50):
yard passes, controlling the ball, uh and keeping the other
teams offense, off the game and off the field. That's
clearly what they're going to try to do tomorrow. UH.
Speaker 3 (01:41:59):
And the Eagles do not give up they plays.
Speaker 5 (01:42:01):
Kansas City doesn't even try to get big plays anymore
because they don't have those kind of players. So I
think that that part of it, the game inside the game,
who can control who has the ball forever, who can
tire the other team's defense out. And then to meet
the Eagles if they're playing with the lead the whole
game like they did for most of the game two
(01:42:23):
years ago, I don't think Kansas City is gonna beat them.
I just think the Eagles will eventually grind them down
and out.
Speaker 3 (01:42:29):
You know what's interesting the way the Eagles decided to
play this year after coming out of the break, We're
not gonna you know, we're gonna put the we're not
gonna throw is that's kind of what the Chiefs did.
They got to a point where maybe they looked around
and looked at their personnel. I guess when Tyreek left
or whatever. Because you remember that Buffalo game, the one
they came back with the thirteen seconds up they were throwing.
(01:42:49):
There were five touchdowns in the last three minutes of
that game. They don't play like that. It's almost like
they decide to play like the way the Eagles are playing.
We're gonna think or donk, we're going you know, every
once in a while, maybe we will break a play
because you know, we're gonna run the ball more, and
they don't.
Speaker 8 (01:43:04):
The Eagles and them are almost like mirror teams.
Speaker 3 (01:43:06):
It's just that the Eagles have better personnel at the
at the skill positions.
Speaker 7 (01:43:11):
And they see.
Speaker 3 (01:43:13):
And they as they don't have Worthy is the only
Worthy has a chance because of his speed. Kelsey will
make big plays, but they're not really intended to.
Speaker 8 (01:43:25):
Be big plays that they started to play.
Speaker 3 (01:43:27):
But that's the thing.
Speaker 6 (01:43:28):
They're not going to Worthy down the field as much.
They're using him as the screen guys. But the ant
give that up anyway. When you play the under such
a good tackling team too, when you play Theagles, they
keep everything in front of you.
Speaker 3 (01:43:40):
That's the way the Eagles want to play. The Chiefs
are going to play man to man a lot of
the time and jail in each man.
Speaker 7 (01:43:46):
The man up.
Speaker 3 (01:43:47):
He's got like fourteen touchdowns to interceptions, some goofy knobs
a j Brown is going to be going down the
field at some point, and if they hit enough of them,
if they hit a couple of them, then the Egles
will be he would probably be good. Then look out
for Dallas Godder in the middle of the pitch.
Speaker 8 (01:44:03):
Exactly right.
Speaker 3 (01:44:05):
I'm hyping myself.
Speaker 4 (01:44:07):
I still have over a day and a half of
this and one thing I do like, though, is and
what makes me feel confident about the Eagles even more
is Nick Sirianni keeps saying apparently I don't know where
this was said or how it was known, but he's
saying that it's basically first and nine for the Eagles,
that that they have that one yard guaranteed every time.
I love that, and that if that's the way Sirianni's
(01:44:28):
going to coach and the aggressiveness he's going to coach with,
because that's not just we know our play works that, oh,
we know it and we're going to run.
Speaker 1 (01:44:35):
It when I have a chance.
Speaker 3 (01:44:36):
It hasn't been as good lately, and I don't know
if that was because of his knee or whatever, and
the Chiefs have been pretty good against it. That doesn't
mean what he says isn't true. The the Eagles are
and I love that. I love that, love that too,
But again, did this game. If the Eagles are in
second and three, second and four, they're probably gonna win
the game because they can do anything they want on
(01:44:59):
second and three, and stead you're second and eight, maybe
not so much.
Speaker 8 (01:45:03):
And maybe maybe you don't get to fourth and one.
Speaker 6 (01:45:06):
Yeah, then you got to force the first to make
a play with his arm, which he can do, but
you don't want to ride on it in a consistent base.
Speaker 8 (01:45:14):
Kellen Moore better have a big game tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:45:16):
Yep, he bet, yes, better he gets ready to coach.
Speaker 7 (01:45:20):
Yes, all right, boys, well, we've.
Speaker 5 (01:45:25):
Said everything we can say. Uh, we'll see what happens tomorrow,
