are now fairly clear in the National League East as
(01:55):
the Mets continue to free fall. I think we are.
They lost five in a row. Now the bet ten. Yeah,
they're just playing very poorly. The Phillies have a very
nice lead in the National League East. Mike Kern is
going to give us a report on the Eagles first
exhibition game.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
I know he want you want to I want to
know what you thought. I have two words. Let's go
through every play. I have two words. Yes, Sir Tyner McGee,
all right, he's the key McKee and you've heard by
your sources they're gonna trade Jalen Hurts. Why not would
you trade Jail? Have you seen this guy play?
Speaker 4 (02:25):
Yeah, he's he's like, So, what could you get for
Jalen Hurts?
Speaker 2 (02:29):
I don't.
Speaker 5 (02:29):
Michael Parsons straight up, Well, Jalen Hurts is in the
top ten quarterback.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
That's good, I tell you right now, Probably like a six.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
Jalen Hurts was on the market, you would not get
as much for him as Eagle fans would think you
would get.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
He's great on this team, and I need to be
great on other teams.
Speaker 4 (02:47):
I'm not saying that, but it won't be like you
get six first round draft picks.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
All right.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
So Phillies, Uh, Hayzo Sozardo Jacob de Gram Uh last
night they went what nine to one?
Speaker 2 (02:58):
They have a big night, scordly five runs to blow
the game wide open.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
Schwoerber now is up to forty one and on his
way to you.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
I don't know how many you'll love this. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
So I wasn't I'm doing very but I saw where
the Phillies were winning one nothing in the first inning,
and I said, Schwarber, so I go to the thing Schwarber.
I mean it's like, yeah, I don't know if people
how much people bet on him, like the hit home
runs and stuff, and I don't know what the odds are. Yeah,
but my I mean and now marsh mar eighty he
(03:32):
went yeah, he was like too ten, wasn't he back
in May?
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Yeah? He was last night.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
Now he's been great. You know, I was ready to
bench him. I was all good for him. Philly's stuck
with her. Now he's playing great. When does the third
Basement coming back? If we not wear anything about it
relatively soon? I think Christopher Alvarado, right, yeah, Christopher Sanchez
was way less than his best last night, stolen, he
gave up one run. He's he's got to be right
there for the sky up. He's in going to win.
(03:59):
They're going second and third. Yes, Skeens will wait.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
H disaster stat of the week Skeens the other night.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
First of all, Steen's has Pittsburgh has four shot fourteen shutouts.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Skeens has five of them. Now he doesn't pitch the
whole game, right, Okay, they've their team has fourteen show
fourteen shutouts, which I find that they're still credible. They're terrible,
but Skeens gave up seven hits the other night. It
was his career high for hits giving up. Yeah, that's insane.
I know he hasn't thrown that many games, but still
(04:30):
that's completely insane. So the Phellies tonight seven fifteen in Texas,
they are plus one eighteen. Why are the dog because
Jacob the Grom is pitching for the other side, and
he's Jacob the ground.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
He's still he's pitching great again, minus one thirty nine
on the Rangers. Did anybody see any of and Mike,
I know you're an exhibition football the route. Did anybody
see Shador Sanders last night for the Brats?
Speaker 2 (04:54):
I heard about it. I did see. I watched.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
I saw they were playing, and so I turned on
an NFL network and i' watching it again with the caveat.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
It's an extra vision game.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
I thought he looked great. Uh, it was poised. He's
got talent. His ball looked like it did in college.
I thought he looked fine to Tuddies. I think if
Flat goes healthy, which I don't know. He's forty years old,
who knows. I think he's gonna be your starter. But
I think Shador will be two I think he'll move ahead.
(05:25):
Oft can you Pickett? And Kenny Pickett's hurt too. I
guess here's the thing. If Tyler Hunt this is what you.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
Got five quarterbacks, well you got to understand about the Browns.
This is wider to Browns, and I obviously we love Stefanski.
They took the quarterback in the third round from now.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
I forgot about the guy that they played all them,
Dylan Gabat Dylan Gabriel.
Speaker 4 (05:45):
Why like, if so, you've got this guy who in
your roster, you guy you took in the fifth round
as an afterthought is better than the guy? Why don't
you just take your door in the third round save yourself?
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Or did you already answer your own question? Yeah? Because
then why they took Dylan gab I'm not I'm not
telling you that.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
That would have been like the Eagles taking a quarterback
in the third round taking Jalen Hurts in the fifth
kind of But again, what can I tell you?
Speaker 6 (06:12):
Sador is going to be I'm guessing at some point
this season, I think he's going maybe they you know,
the season starts falling apart from I think, don't you think?
Speaker 3 (06:23):
But I mean, all I can tell you is. Again,
I don't know who was on the other team, and
I don't really care. I just wanted to say what
it is, ball, what you think.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
He's the future more so than anybody else.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Has an awfully good college player behind a hideous offensive line,
and you know, a bit of a wild scene out
there in Bulger And I'm not.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
Saying he's going to be an elite quarterback in the NFL,
but he can be good.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
It's one of the Clearly the NFL teams decided it
wasn't necessarily about as to tell it, they didn't want
to deal with all the other stuff.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
That's what happened. I mean, it's not the first time
that's happened.
Speaker 4 (06:58):
And he had two DUIs like in his week in
camp or whatever, but not the US speeding speeding Okay,
you're right, big difference.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
I'm sorry. Everybody was going one hundred. Yeah, A lot
of people go a hundred. Yeah, they just got names
or sand understood. So uh, Eagles might.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
Now we've been waiting now for hold on a second,
for eight minutes. We need to report on the game
against the Bengals, right, wait, every day, this is this
is what I know about the some of the young
guys look good.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
They're not all going to make the team, but whatever,
somebody's going to make the team. They need At some point,
they're gonna need more edge rushers. I think that's that
seems to be the thing that they might need. But
they need a cornerback. So how we between now and
probably unless one of these quarter cornerbacks emerges.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
But that's like the.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Only question on the team, Like the offense has no
question one, right, So the two guys they brought in
to vibe for the job, you're not happy with either
one of them. Nobody seems like now again, can they
just traded for a guy or signed a.
Speaker 5 (07:58):
Guy the other day Thomas Booker for a cornerback from you?
Speaker 4 (08:02):
And this is the Yankee syndrome that hey, we got
to have an all star at every position.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
I'm not, but the Eagles have.
Speaker 4 (08:07):
A chance to do something that very few NFL teams
ever do, which is repeat.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
It sets you apart. The team just did it. I'm
talking about not the Chiefs should have paid.
Speaker 4 (08:16):
I'm talking about a team like the Seattle's In the
twenty fourteen there was one play away from the putting
themselves in a different I mean the Patriots only repeat
it once, which is amazing to me. The forty nine
ers back in montag they repeat it once. You know,
there's been some great shops. If the Eagles go out
and win it again this year, which I think they're
(08:37):
capable of the history that it's like if the Phillies
had won in two thousand and.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
Nine, we would have looked at that whole thing totally differently.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (08:47):
So yeah, they have a really, really good team.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
But I'm want an evaluation of the exhibition.
Speaker 4 (08:52):
Okay, Mcki, your quarterback look good. There was a wide
receiver that look up, Johnny Wilson.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
I believe that you played.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
It was the tall guy. He's the one running back.
Dylan looked pretty good. Right a supposedly supposedly Steve, Steve
played pretty well. The right guard played pretty well. They
said he opened up a.
Speaker 5 (09:15):
Block on Will Shipley's long run. Tyler Will Yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
I mean, look, it's exhibition season, man. I mean I
was in Saratogas Springs at dinner and they did not
have the game.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Did you make them put it on? Did you go
up to the guy and say, hey, I did not.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
But if you're in Slipper the twenty and you the
only thing you see on TV has four legs. There
are no two legged people on televisions in Saratoga Springs.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
New York. I mean, I mean now not we think
about this.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
When the Eagles were coming off their Super Bowl in
seventeen seventeen, Wait, they could have been good. I mean
they weren't as good. Then went Wentz got hurt, right,
went Wentz was hurt.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
Excuse me, and that whole season just kind of got
kind of a man and they still want a playoff
game and almost want up but double we didn't feel
well doing We didn't feel like this.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
No, there's no way. I don't even know what the
Eagles odds were in eighteen or whatever.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
This team is one of those six or seven or
eight teams, however you want to category that have a chance,
a legit chance. We all know about the ones in
the AFC, and the Eagles don't have to worry about
the ones in the AFC except if they get to
the Super Bowl. The quarterback for the Rams right now
is Back's bad and he's thirty seven.
Speaker 4 (10:24):
Dallas has all kinds of crap going on. Washington's got crap.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
Going on.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
You got the whole.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
NFC North, which we don't know who which team's going
to emerge.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
From the NFC North.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
They're four pretty or three really good teams and maybe
one one questionable. Yeah, and again I think the Eagles,
I mean we in Philadelphia have never what I can remember,
been in this position, even coming off twenty two when
they lost in twenty three and they were ten and one,
like people forget about that.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
Yeah, the season went nuts at the end Syriannes, they were.
Speaker 4 (10:58):
Ten to one and they'd beaten like were really good
football teams. I remember, until the forty nine Ers came
in here and just went and then could you describe that?
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Again?
Speaker 3 (11:09):
I like it, my man, like he's got that. Nobody
with description is better than my car. We're into the
FedEx Playoffs, Saint Jude Classic, the first of three in
the playoffs. Mike will be at the top of the
hour to give his picks. We're halfway through with a
couple of golfers finishing this morning, because yeah, I think
I think they're pretty much. Justin Rose was one of
(11:30):
the guys who had a couple of holes to play
and easy, So Mike explained, we'll get into your picks
the top of the hour, but explain what's happening here.
We're down to only seventy golfers are left.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
They've changed it a little bit this year.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
It used to be when you got to the final
event Tour Championship, yep, the Scottie Scheffler woulds thought with
a two shot lead over the second because they didn't
want to weigh it down to one tournament, like the
year when Tiger almost wanted in.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
I want to say on twenty No, he did win it.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
He won the tournament. He just didn't win the Tour
champions he didn't win the FedEx.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
He didn't win the bonus. Austin Rose held off. That's
right right now, you're right.
Speaker 4 (12:07):
But Tiger was the story and everybody was like and
they used to and there was there's like a ten
million dollars annuity or something.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
Attached to this.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
I guess there's seventy this week, what you go to fifty?
So the tog bottom twenty this week or out or
is it points then.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
Well it's at the end of the week. Who Okay,
So if.
Speaker 4 (12:25):
You finish in the bottom twenty this week, you're out.
Not necessarily if you're already if you have enough points, right,
Like McIlroy's not even playing because he knows he has
enough point And last year he played, he missed the
cut and he said why did I play? Because he
was on. I'll give you a perfect example. So the
top fifty in points. I want to give you a
Berkak example.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
Kurt Kidiamo, who won two or three weeks ago, played
well last week. Yes he's fifty second, right, he has
to somehow move up two spots, got it?
Speaker 4 (12:53):
Now he's playing really well. Yep, the star he might
he might do that. Guys could fall out. If you're
forty nineth or.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
Forty eighth, then you don't get to play next week. No,
and you're out. You can't win the champion No, you're gone.
Speaker 4 (13:04):
So next week there's fifty ye and then it goes
to thirty. I think thirty go to the tour Championship
and this year you're starting.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
Thirty one through thirty.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
There's no difference. It doesn't matter if your third mouth
the first going into the last. They're going back to
going back to the way they used to do it
was just have a tournament. Scottish Scheffler's not starting ten
strokes ahead thirty.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
And the bad part about that is, let's say, sake
of argument, he gets to the Tour Championship, Scotty finishes third.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
Yeah, whatever, some other guy wins.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
Well, people are gonna say, well, Scotty was the best,
but some other guys.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
Gonna be the Tour tournament.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
You might be a ten point favorite, but if you lose,
you lose in the championship.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
That's how it works.
Speaker 4 (13:45):
And you know what if I put Scotty you on
truth here, Scotty, you won two majors this year. Yeah,
and he's gonna be on the Ryder Cup team in
another six weeks or whatever it is, which, by the way,
is going to be wild for.
Speaker 5 (13:59):
The sake of compet hit And the last thing you
want is Scotty Scheffler to have a couple of stroke
lead heading into a tory.
Speaker 4 (14:04):
But I don't know did he win last year? Though
I don't remember he started with like it too, or
even the year before that. Whoever was leading it might
have been Rory, I'm not sure, but I.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
Wouldn't bet major.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
What I didn't like about the format last year was
if you were in thirtieth place, let's say you were
starting tending back to Scotty.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Well, dude, yeah, I'm gonna withdraw. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
So they're mad at McElroy because mclroy just said no,
I'm not playing.
Speaker 7 (14:32):
No.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
Guys have done this, and apparently they're going to change
the role next year to mad anybody that's qualified. Are
they going to do that?
Speaker 2 (14:38):
Yes, it sounds like they.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
I have no problem with this. He's doing his take
advantage of the situation because he's got enough points. But
guys have done this before. They're going to change the
role Mike because they're not happy that's only one of
the game's best players.
Speaker 4 (14:50):
But I know why Scott, why he did it. He's
played in this event and done well.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Uh he's finished. He's got like four top ten finishes
or whatever on this course. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:59):
I he played last year and like played like crap,
and you said, look, I'm playing all these these weeks.
I had no problem with what Rory did, but I
understand why the tour would do that.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
And then next week we're all going to the next
tournament Caves Valley in Maryland.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
Is that where it's at? Caves Valley?
Speaker 3 (15:19):
What a nice place at We're going there, And then
of course the tour championship is always at Atlanta.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
In Atlanta, that never changes. So that's how far when
you were growing up, where was Caves Valley? And it
didn't even exist?
Speaker 5 (15:30):
Oh okay, it was a figment of his older than
where it's located, like from where you grew.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
Up, Like, where is it lokated? I've never been Mills
where that's it is though it sounds Mills is just
a little northwest of all North, just outside the belt one.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
So basically there wasn't even a suburb there when you.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
Of course, and that's a nice area, Owen's Mill, that's fine,
nothing wrong with that. Doesn't a minutes from cool? Doesn't
Westbrook have a horse farm or something?
Speaker 2 (16:02):
That I west Brooks horse farm is down there near DC. Okay,
he's a Prince George's count Okay, I wasn't sure fit.
Might the the Mattha High School?
Speaker 7 (16:09):
Right?
Speaker 2 (16:10):
Beautiful lovely Hyattsville?
Speaker 3 (16:12):
Uh? All right, so what Phillies. Uh let's look this
up now. I want to say, there're three and a half.
Three and a half, that's yep.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
Let's look at the.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
Remember the bet at the start of the season was
Phillies to.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
Win the division. Yep. Well there. I didn't think the
Mets would even be like this.
Speaker 3 (16:30):
All right, So here we go, Phillies at sixty eight
and forty nine, three and a half clear of the Mets.
Who is Kyle said, have lost five in a row
and nine.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
Of its head.
Speaker 5 (16:41):
And still got two more at Milwaukee.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
Which has the best record in baseball.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
Milwaukee's the first team to seventy seventy one and forty
four having a good year.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
Crime, you just got hurt, Okay, I.
Speaker 5 (16:52):
Think he was having a Reese Hoskins here, which okay,
hitting like two thirty Okay.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
Yeah, Milwaukee's now stretched the lead out the five over
the Cubs. Milwaukee's like best players like.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Christian Yelich is actually happened. It's coming back. Yeah, he's
having always Like yeah, I couldn't name three players.
Speaker 5 (17:09):
I looked at the rest of their lineup, and to
Dick's point, yet no household names and they're pitching.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
They didn't they go out the trade.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
They let him get a couple of pitchers like everybody
else they did. Phillies sixty six forty nine, Dodgers sixty
seven to forty nine, Milwaukee seventy one forty four. So
the Phillies at the moment are battling with the Dodgers
to see who.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
Gets to sit out. The Dodgers are getting healthier, They're
getting they're getting some of their people back.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
On six and four last ten American League Toronto still leads.
They're actually playing the Dodgers this weekend. They lost last night.
Speaker 2 (17:44):
Sures are against Kershaw in the Battle of the Ages. Wow.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
Toronto has the best record in the American League sixty
eight forty nine, Detroit sixty seven fifty Houston sixty five
to fifty one.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
They all lead their divisions.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
The Yankees are basically eliminated from the American League eest
barring some wild thing. They're six and a half back
the wild card. The Yankees are only half a game
ahead of Cleveland for the last wildcards. Cleveland, they're only
six games over five hundred. Cleveland, somehow, is on eight
of ten. Half their pitching staff has been tossed for possibly.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
Two or two wild cards right now in Boston and Boston.
Speaker 5 (18:23):
Yeah, the Yankees from third place in that event and
then the net over rated.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
Yeah, how about that?
Speaker 3 (18:28):
And in the National League, the Cubs are three and
a half clear of San Diego, The Mets are three
and a half clear as the third wildcard of Cincinnati.
San Francisco is four back Saint Louis four and a half.
A motley crew there for sure. So what are our
thoughts on the Phillies as we head into the final
Let me let me say, let me count how many
(18:49):
games they have?
Speaker 2 (18:49):
Kyle?
Speaker 4 (18:50):
Can I make this best sixty six? Aaron Boone gets
fired at the end of the year?
Speaker 2 (18:54):
Is that? Can I make that bed on Lake On?
If I go to Parks? Can I can?
Speaker 5 (18:58):
I don't know if it's in them? Will be future?
Speaker 2 (19:00):
He's done gone.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
Well, they got to blame somebody unless they make some
kind of miraculous turnaround. For games left for the Phillies,
are you confident they're going to win the division?
Speaker 2 (19:12):
At this point?
Speaker 4 (19:12):
They have seven games with the Mets. Mets would almost
have to win five of os. I'm guessing yeah, probably.
You know, ten game road swing? Does that bother you?
Speaker 2 (19:23):
Yeah? Really have to go at Rangers twice? Four? Gnats
at Matt there's fourth the Gnats.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
Yeah, that's not real hard Mariners here gnats here at
Mets Brave.
Speaker 4 (19:37):
There's a stat on the Yankees to the last four years. Yes,
their record the second half of the year is like
always below five hundred round the Yankees, they just, for
for whatever reason, they kind of fall off the face
of the earth. Now, I don't know if that's Aaron
Boone's fault them. You know, the Labor Day, Labor Day,
Mike Phillies at.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
Brewers and then the Mets. Right after that, I think
is Marlin's here at Orleans when we're coming on strong.
Those Miami are then Mets, then the Kansas City Royal.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
Yeah, and they end against the Twins at Dodgers at Diamondbacks. Diamondbacks.
Think knew they had to go out.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
Well, he's finished with Marlan's and the Twins, so at
that point will be one hundred games under five. Phillies
are gonna they should should win the division, whether they
get the second spot or the third spot. I you know,
but I'm gonna say this, the Phillies are the third
spot and they got three at home against whoever finishes sixth.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
They better not lose that series.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
It could be the Mets. That's good right now. Oh my,
at the moment, that's where they.
Speaker 4 (20:40):
Are, Dicky, totally Philly thing, right They finished third the
Mets finished sixth. The Mets come in here and beat them,
they would just they would. They would blow up the
whole franchise.
Speaker 5 (20:51):
Phillies have like nine hits in those games. They couldn't
lose in the Mets two years in a row. No,
they did that last year. The Mets were the better team.
I thought at that point.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
If they're playing them three games here, you know, no,
no save even needed him by so many points late
in the games.
Speaker 5 (21:20):
Speaking of Phillies, why is Max Kepler still in the
lineup after they got Harrison Bader?
Speaker 3 (21:27):
Didn't you see the stat the other day hard hit
ball his exit velocities.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
I'm just telling that, you know, you know why Kepler's
last night. But he did get a walk, Kyle.
Speaker 4 (21:39):
They gave him ten million dollars like they gave Mit
work Wit, Murrayfeld or whatever that like they gave the
guy from the Orioles.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
The new Oriols got got sick.
Speaker 4 (21:49):
Yes they are if they don't put and look Harrison
beating great, I'm.
Speaker 2 (21:54):
Not he's better than Kepler.
Speaker 4 (21:55):
Harrison Bader in center every single or most days. Martian
left because Marsh's earned the spot and left and he
plays a good left field better left and center better
than left and center, and that is your lineup. Yep, yeah,
that's what you do. So well, I don't know what
they're gonna do at second base. I mean they're platooning
there too, I should yeah, well, yeah, Price and stop.
Speaker 3 (22:18):
And if Stott's not in the lineup, bring him in
at the end for defense. That's fine if you're ahead
in the game. I got the one thing about when
people still don't know when Bone is coming back.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
He's gotta be soon.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
I mean they said August, so I don't know, and
Alvarado should be back soon.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
I'm guess August the night. Yeah, I know.
Speaker 4 (22:35):
And I'm gonna tell you one thing, yes, and fans
never think about this. Defense is important. Bader's good, Scott's
really good as a defensive second. They lost the Houston series,
and I said it that year like three times. It's
gonna come back and by him because Reese Hoskins made
a couple bad plays. Yeah, the Houston guy made a
great play, and Houston guy in center field made a
(22:55):
great play. And the all I'm saying is defensive, you're
bad defensively.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
It comes back at the most inopportune time and you
screw something up. Bone will throw a ball away and
Boone's gotten better.
Speaker 5 (23:07):
I'm not he's gotten better. But there is a time
where Crey.
Speaker 4 (23:09):
Turner will throw the ball away or something and it
and it makes all the dif.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
They beat Houston two years or three years ago, I guess,
or if they make if that kid guy in center
field doesn't make the play for the Atros and Wheeler
doesn't get taken out, and Dick ain't texting me saying
why are they taking him out? Eighty eighty two pitches?
Nexty eight pitches his last game of the year. What
are we doing? It was?
Speaker 3 (23:34):
Was it sixty eight? And Dick said to me, he goes,
he goes. What are they saving him for?
Speaker 2 (23:41):
No sense?
Speaker 5 (23:42):
Alec Boum is starting a rehab assignment tomorrow, so he's
nearing a return.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
That could be a weak or turn. How about Nolan?
Are we getting Are we getting to Nola soon? Or
he's been he's been read.
Speaker 4 (23:52):
Nobody even talks about Painter anymore because he's not pitching
that well.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
Correct, he ain't coming up?
Speaker 3 (23:57):
No, all right, exhibition football today, Mike, you're into this? No,
Bill's one o'clock minus three against the Giants at.
Speaker 4 (24:09):
New York as a as a better There's probably a
lot of money making opportunities in these things, if you know,
like for instance, your night with Cleveland, right, yes, and
they rolled right. Cleveland won like thirty to ten or
thirty to fourteenff, Buffalo won't.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
Be see where's that game at?
Speaker 3 (24:25):
That game is at at Buffalo, big home field advantagement.
Speaker 5 (24:29):
And the Giants are States might actually want to try,
right because they got to know because they're gonna roll out?
Speaker 2 (24:36):
Are they gonna roll out?
Speaker 5 (24:37):
Russ and Winston?
Speaker 3 (24:39):
I'm not even worried about wouldn't they? There's the bet
of the day. You're Denver. This is night game hopefully
on national television so I could see it. Denver minus
seven at San Francisco. San Francisco must be playing like
why a tittle?
Speaker 2 (24:55):
I mean, what are we doing?
Speaker 7 (24:57):
What?
Speaker 2 (24:57):
Seven? Whyte John?
Speaker 4 (25:01):
I would never lay seven in an exhibition game. But
they're telling you that the forty nine ers are playing nobody?
Who's Denver playing everybody?
Speaker 2 (25:08):
Why? Why not Denver? Who is backing up rock Purdy
these days? That doesn't matter. If Rock Party goes down,
doesn't matter.
Speaker 5 (25:18):
It's a good question. I want to see. I want
to see if.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
Trey Trey Lance.
Speaker 4 (25:22):
John's going to tell me that that Trey Lance should
be like this guy starting quarterback. Look, Trey Lance might
be a decent quarterback in the NFL at some point
in his life.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
I'm not saying that.
Speaker 4 (25:31):
But because he threw two touchdown passes in an exhibition game,
don't please don't tell me he's like the number three
pick in the draft.
Speaker 2 (25:38):
He is. I know they're not buying Trey Lance money.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Oh Trey Lance has if he gets in the right situation, Yes,
maybe he can be better than some of the starting
quarterbacks right now.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Maybe the guy in the Eagles.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
Could be better than some of the starting quarterbacks right now.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
Tanner mckitt here.
Speaker 5 (25:56):
Man, Tanner McKain best backup in football.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
There's some bitch star are in quarterbacks where Tanner I
should notice.
Speaker 5 (26:05):
But he was a fourth round pick from Stanford.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
Is that possible? You don't stuff? That sounds right, Dick?
Speaker 5 (26:12):
Really he played for the Stanford about Cardinal Cardinal done Cardinal?
Speaker 2 (26:18):
Tell me I don't know my football? Yeah, actually you
can't tell me.
Speaker 7 (26:21):
You know you?
Speaker 5 (26:22):
Apparently I don't either. Because he was a sixth round pick.
You know your exhibition football.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
Yeah, nobody better than me.
Speaker 5 (26:27):
It Actually, by the way, backing up Rock Party, you're
gonna see a healthy dose of Mac Jones in that game,
and maybe some Tanner Mordecai. It sounds like a Mortal Kombat.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
Jones was a guy on the Patriots. Yes, okay, doesn't
quite worry. I gave him confused with the Jones that
was on New York's Daniel.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
He's now backing up for the team whose name shall
not be named, and.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
I'm sorry, yeah, talk about it.
Speaker 3 (26:55):
He might be starting because the other guy got hurt.
Speaker 5 (26:57):
The other broke his finger. Is it a broken thing?
I think it's a finger. Wow, I think he stinks anyway, Well,
he gets.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
Hurt a lot. That's the quarterback from Florida who's name
none of us, Richards. Richards. Yes, here's another prediction.
Speaker 4 (27:12):
After this season, the two Eagle coordinators from the Super
Bowl year are both going to be.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
Out of work. That's it. They're both gone. I think
the guy on the Colts is on notice, and I
think the guy on the Cardinals is on notice. And
I don't think either of them are going to be
all that good this year. So that's it.
Speaker 4 (27:27):
They'll be well, they won't be back here. I don't
think unless Patoola stinks and he could be gone. That
maybe bring Stichlin back. I don't know, Stiking Stiking.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
Hey, he did a great did a great job here
for a couple of years.
Speaker 5 (27:45):
Yeah, it's interesting that the Cardinals. I think it's a
Kyler Murray problem. He's a flashy player, but I don't
think he's a winner.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
They're just dumb operations. Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (27:56):
Yeah, that's that's yeah, that's a post and then the
other So the guy kill him more goes to the Saints.
That's a that's a a dumpster fire.
Speaker 5 (28:05):
Yeah, imagine going from Eagles offense to the Saints off.
Speaker 4 (28:08):
He does have a quarterback. You've got to take the job.
Somebody comes and offers you the job. You can't say no,
I'm gonna stay here with the Eagles.
Speaker 2 (28:16):
I just want a super Bowl. Now, maybe he trades
for Tanner McKay.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
Do you do you have a specific ramper later or
are you just sort of ran it along as we
go to.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
Uh give us some thought there?
Speaker 5 (28:30):
I mean, yeah, this is him thinking of something, so
something will come to mind.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
Yeah, come on, now, I mean you've been waiting all
Is it Trey Lance dancing talking about trailer wan I'll
tell you one thing that got me. Oh, don't give
me started on that w n b A.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
That's my help.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
Why we want you to get started.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
I love with her.
Speaker 4 (28:50):

are that they're talented and they put but.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
I'm not into it. I mean, I'll watch it.
Speaker 4 (28:57):
Kaitlyn Clark's been now thirteen straight games, man, and who
cares about that? I mean, i'd say this, and there
are people to camp, but I'm just saying from a point.
If the Las Vegas Aces are playing the Liberty around,
do I know two people that are on the court, Like, No,
not really.
Speaker 5 (29:14):
I know Angel Reached plays for Chicago, so you know,
I know Breonna Stewart plays for.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
Really Good.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
I mean, there's a lot of really talented, great good players.
But I'm not you know, is what it is? The
exhibition season just I can't get into any.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
Exhibitions that all that the uh.

Here at the sports book, Dick Goriti a long with
Mike Kern and Kyle Nunnemaker and Johnny Baseball is joining
(32:36):
us as we speak. Uh, mister Baseball, all right.
Speaker 7 (32:41):
I'm doing good, especially if Brandon marsh, College Schwarber and
the rest of the Phillies are gonna hit like that.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
So God very good.
Speaker 7 (32:49):
All right.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
So we got a whole bunch of games on the
docket today and tonight. Anything strike your fancy here, mister Baseball.
Speaker 7 (33:00):
Yes, Houston, I see them at minus one ten at
the moment. Fadler Valvez is on the mountain two pointy
three year right, But they're going up against Uist Gil,
who is just starting to get back after an injury.
Didn't go well so far for him this season, so
I'm just gonna keep playing on that. Yankees have been horrible,
downright horrendous actually, and Houston's been Okay, not to say
(33:23):
they're playing amazing baseball, but they're playing much better than
the Yankees. And I just want to kind of pick
on Gil coming back and really trying to get his
feet under him as he's, you know, trying to get
ready for the postseason for them because they need pitching
in the worst way. They're only six games above five
hundred now, so they're struggling. And I'm just gonna pick
on Gil at the moment as he's trying to get
(33:43):
himself up to really mid season form. The other one
I'm gonna go with is and this stay with me
on this one a little bit. The Washington Nationals have
not been good, but I think this is a really
bad number minus one sixty five for a pitcher that
told making his second started thing first or second or
second or third start. And Carson wizzen Hunt decent prospect.
(34:06):
He came his way through the miners and was pitching
really well, highly touted prospect coming out of college as well.
But Carson wizen Hunt, I just I don't think, especially
as we see with young pitchers, that they can continue
really good success. It's not like he's been all that
great four point three five ra one point one six
whith but he's had he had ten innings under his
belt now. So the more teams seeing, the more they
(34:29):
kind of understand what he does, I think that the
better they are going to do against him. We have
seen this a lot with young pitchers. Nick Abels a
really good example of this. The first couple of games
really good, but then once the command starts to go
a little bit, once team started to figure him out,
he started to get hit really hard. So I want
to get a plus one forty number, I think on
a good side here against the pitcher that probably shouldn't
(34:51):
be getting a minus one sixty five no matter what
team he's facing.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
And this is miss San Francisco Giants for the people
that don't know who this pitcher plays for. Wast to
that San Francisco, you will take the dog the Washington Nets.
Speaker 5 (35:04):
That's a disgusting I'm gonna go.
Speaker 7 (35:06):
With Yeah, I'm gonna regret that one, but I just
think it's like a good player to kind of get
a plus price and against the pitcher a young picture
that might be, you know, might be giving up more
runs than usual against a team like Washington. But the
last one I want to go for here is the
Los Angeles Angels. This is another one where I'm probably
(35:26):
gonna regret this because they're playing the Detroit Tigers. But
we have known the Detroit Tigers aren't playing all that
well lately. Now the Angels are run a third game
losing streak, but Detroit Los Angeles like, there's not much
difference with the way Detroit's playing at the moment between
the two, and I think they just have the better picture.
You say, Kakuchi's on the mound. Three point two two
e ra A one point four zero whip is not good.
But on the other side of that is Charlie Morton,
(35:48):
who Detroit acquired five point two zero e ra A
one point five to two whips. He's not having a
great season. There's been flashes of the old Charlie Morton,
but the problem is he is getting older, and it
just seems like the miles and the amount of innings
on his arm is really caught up to him. So
I think the Angels here have a good shot to
win this one. They have the pitching advantage plus one fifteen.
(36:11):
Definitely comfortable taking with this with especially as they faced
Charlie Morton.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
Second.
Speaker 3 (36:17):
Far be it from me to ever suggest anything about
Johnny Baseball here, but Charlie Morton has pitched great for
two months now. Is era as a product of the
first two months when he was got off all? Yeah? Absolutely,
So let's deal in reality here, mister Baseball. You're going
to come on this show and act like you know
(36:37):
something about baseball. Actually you need to know something about baball.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
Oh wow.
Speaker 7 (36:42):
Holding out Johnny, Well, he didn't have a four point
ninety one ERA unless of July, so he did have
a few good bucks. That's not to say you're right,
Charlie Morton to get better, but it has. But everything
kind of just goes to the law of averages, and
I think this is it's kind of what he is.
He's a high four five d R.
Speaker 2 (37:00):
A guy is chiming in. He wants to make another correction. No,
he said the Angels had lost three straight. Didn't they
beat the Tigers last night.
Speaker 5 (37:09):
No, the Tiger's still ended up winning that game.
Speaker 3 (37:10):
Oh they came back and yeah, high are you? Are
you James Connor the gambler where you knock on the
guy's door, go, I was ahead at halftime.
Speaker 2 (37:19):
I had to come back.
Speaker 5 (37:20):
He had a rough out him.
Speaker 3 (37:23):
But they still When I looked at the screen, the
Angels were winging the game. Yeah, you're like, James, did
you want me back here for the start of the second?
Speaker 5 (37:30):
Okay, Well, baseball team cannot heads their bets like that.
Speaker 3 (37:34):
Man Coach Kern here telling Johnny Baseball what's happening.
Speaker 7 (37:39):
I know I wasn't A couple of.
Speaker 2 (37:42):
Times, John I want to ask you about Trey Lance.
Trey Lance, Yes, what are you asking?
Speaker 7 (37:49):
Fire? Well, now now I'm I'm past Tray Lance. North
Anders is the real deal. So North Anders should be starting,
uh for the Cleveland Browns. There should be no question
about that. She just had one of the most electric
preseason debuts you've ever seen.
Speaker 2 (38:05):
Being pre season, I'm.
Speaker 7 (38:07):
Not, but I will say like, with with the skills
that he has, he can function as an NFL quarterback.
It's just you know how much he can develop early on.
But I think I imagine.
Speaker 4 (38:18):
But question right now, I know what the answer is
going to be because of the But if you could take
Shador Sanders or Trey Lance to door, no, no, and
that's I think that's the right. Listen, were you when
you were saying that last week?
Speaker 2 (38:33):
I was half fun in with you.
Speaker 4 (38:34):
But I think that Lance, Trey Lance, perhaps could be
a player in this league, maybe even a starter. But
just because he throws a touchdown passing an exhibition game,
I don't you don't you don't like the exhibition for
so of the guys trying to make teams, they are very,
very very important.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
I get that part of it.
Speaker 7 (38:54):
But for example, it was really fun watching the Eagles
wide receivers, the backup guys and I Smitheus Cooper, Johnny Wilson,
they come off with big plays.
Speaker 3 (39:02):
You know that.
Speaker 7 (39:03):
That was really fun to watch guys develop and see
them kind of develop a little bit.
Speaker 2 (39:08):
John.
Speaker 5 (39:10):
Any takeaways from the Eagles preseason game without overreactions.
Speaker 7 (39:18):
Yeah, I mean it's hard not to overreact to Tanner McKee.
But this isn't just preseason. This is an accumulation of
preseason games from previous years playing in actual regular season games.
The Cowboys and Giants. He played extremely well. I think
they were mentioning it on the Eagles broadcasting. It's very true.
I can't remember a time where Tanner McKey has come in.
(39:40):
You've seen him play in like live games, whether it's
exhibition or regular season, and not play well. This guy
just consistently makes right decisions, makes right reads, puts the
ball in the right places, and he makes next level throws.
Some of those throws, I know it's preseason, but it's
super high quality and it's something that he seems like
he's doing in practice as well. That guy's a legit,
(40:02):
like he's never going to be a top end starter whatever,
but those are That's the kind of guy. If I'm
a team and I'm I'm in the you know, on
the bottom of the league, and I'm just trying to
find somebody to win me some games or anything, Tanner
McKey is the guy. Uh, he could absolutely the league.
Speaker 3 (40:17):
Are their teams trying to trade for him in the
off season? John, did we hear that out there?
Speaker 7 (40:24):
Yeah, there are some teams that did. I don't. I
don't think the Eagles are willing to rely. McKee wants
his rookie contract goes away if he wants, if he
wants to pursue a starting job like that, it's gonna
be up to him.
Speaker 3 (40:37):
If he was when he was at Stanford, I'm trying.
I mean, I knew, I knew the name was he that,
I know Stanford stunk, But was he like what did
people think of him?
Speaker 7 (40:48):
He was a he was a highly touted recruit, so
he was he is somebody that that has some type
of pedigree like there is there is I think he
was a I don't know if he was a five seven.
I know he's a pretty high recruit. But the thing
is that you just said Stanford, Jeff bel was in shambles.
They have not been good recently, to the point out
they were really desperate. I had to say desper But
(41:09):
they kind of cleaned house. They brought in Andrew Luck
to either g n they brought in Frank Reich to
give them at least some sort of leadership, senior leadership,
I guess in that locker room. But yeah, it's it's
more of I think his college production is more product
of what Stamford was and not him. Not to say
that he was a perfect profs but I think what's that.
Speaker 3 (41:31):
Is Frank Reich got there? I mean, I mean I
miss that.
Speaker 7 (41:35):
Yes he is, Yep, Frank Rerik is out there. Andrew
Luck I think hired him. So that that.
Speaker 2 (41:40):
Makes the coach.
Speaker 7 (41:43):
Oh, I forget David Charleston been away for David shelsmen
away for a good bit, So I forget who might
have been there before Frank Reich.
Speaker 2 (41:54):
They're in the Mountain West or they in the the sun.
Speaker 7 (41:57):
Face I want to take they're in the I want
to say they're in the ac they are?
Speaker 2 (42:02):
They are? Okayeah?
Speaker 7 (42:06):
Yeah, that's what isn't that? That is the weirdest thing
to say is that it's it's kind of odd. I
don't like it because to hear like Stanford and cal
as the Atlanta in the Atlantic Coastal Conference, it's one
of the weirder things.
Speaker 2 (42:20):
I think.
Speaker 3 (42:20):
I never cal just made Berkeley, California, across a bay
and you're at the Pacific Ocean.
Speaker 2 (42:26):
It's like, what are we doing?
Speaker 7 (42:27):
Yes, I don't think anywhere close to the Atlantic Coastal No.
Speaker 2 (42:31):
But yeah, again, the rivalry is big. Troy Taylor now.
Speaker 3 (42:39):
He got got Yeah, now running the show out there.
Speaker 7 (42:44):
Probably would have been he could have been like in
a in a in a productive Colt career, like a
Day two draft pick, because teams love size he and look,
he seems like a smart kid. He's got the size,
he's got the arm, and there were some good things
on tape. But it's just you couldn't get a lot
of good things on tape if you're the team around you,
and what Stamford was can't really do anything with you.
(43:06):
So that's that was a big problem for.
Speaker 5 (43:07):
Him and John.
Speaker 2 (43:08):
The other.
Speaker 5 (43:10):
Comments coming out of that game, are you worried about
the Eagles secondary or do you chalk it up as
it's Joe Burrow and Tamar Chase.
Speaker 7 (43:20):
Yeah, that one I chalk off as its preseason is
Joe Burrow Jamar Chase. They're not doing anything like That's
the thing about defense, it's really vanilla defenses. Unless you're
Anthony Richardson, then it's not vanilla and it's really complicated.
But it's mostly vanilla defenses. So they're not doing any
crazy coverages. They're not doing any kind of exotic blitzes
(43:41):
up front. The great thing about Fangio is that he
gives so many different looks, and he gives so many
different looks up front as well to confuse quarterbacks of
the line of scrimmage then in the secondary. So once
once there is like in the back end, like you
do have Red Blanket Ship and possibly Cooper Gene at
times and safety and you have Quingon Mitch on the
other side, who's probably going to blanket guys like Jamar Chase.
(44:04):
It eases the pressure a little bit off of them.
Do they have a problem at cornerback too, Like, yes,
the the the guy opposite of Quinnon Mitchell probably has
not been figured out yet. I am interested in the
guy that they got from Oakland, Oakland, Las Vegas, jeez.
But from the Raiders it seems like he can play.
It just wasn't a fit for what Pete Carroll's defense
(44:25):
is because you know, they need a certain type of
cornerback to fit their scheme, and he just didn't seem to.
I would have seen what he could be like in
Fangio's defense. But yeah, I'm not too worried about it. Again,
it's really vanilla coverages, the vanilla defenses, and Joe Barland,
no matter who is on the field, is just going
to light you up if you're playing that kind of coverage.
So yeah, I'm not too worried about that yet, John.
Speaker 3 (44:51):
Anything else on baseball before we let you get on
out of here, you got anything else?
Speaker 2 (44:56):
We know you're busy. We don't not want to hold
you off from whatever.
Speaker 7 (44:59):
It no all good, so I will. I think the
Phillies offense maybe it's a little dependent on Kyle Schwarber
and Bryce Harper, but they have been really good since
the All Star break. They are right now if you
look at the entirety of the season, they are top five,
the top seven in a lot of major categories when
(45:20):
it comes to hitting. So I know there was concern
about the lineup. There has been a lot of tough
I think that just happens naturally in one hundred and
sixty two games where you are going to see some
bad games and that's going to stick out more than
the good ones. But there have been too many instances
like last night, where the offense just explodes for runs.
This offense can go, so I'm not worried about that really.
(45:42):
I think the only worry now is can they just
get the pitching right, which I think it's going to
They're giving Zach Wheeler a little bit of time to
kind of just get some rest and get his arm right.
Aaron Nola's going to be coming back, and I think
he's going to be pitched better than he had been before.
Speaker 5 (45:58):
I think Robertson tomorrow, Oh.
Speaker 2 (46:02):
Wow, see now now.
Speaker 7 (46:05):
Yeah, But it's just it's really up to pitching that
it just can't kind of corrected and healthy and right.
But the line is there. The line has been there
all year and I think there have been rolls, but
that happens in one hundred and sixty two game season.
Now they are showing that they are consistently able to hit,
and they look at that's a lot of that looks
ready for the postseason.
Speaker 3 (46:25):
So so here we go, MVP of the National League
short for a factor?
Speaker 2 (46:31):
Here could he beat out the great man?
Speaker 7 (46:33):
It is so it is actually incredible that we can
have a legitimate conversation about that. College Shuber has narrowed
the gap so much that even the odds have shifted
a little bit. Now Tani is still like a heavy favorite,
but it's not as heavy as it used to be.
So I will give College Shwerber all the credit in
the world. It is a conversation we can have. I
understand the conversations, but Stani just went out there for
(46:56):
flour endings and that age strikeouts. This guy is one.
There's just nothing you can do about it, because he's
going to be comparable and in some ways a little
bit better than Tylas. Schwarver is a hitter, but he's
comparable and also going out and getting eight strikeouts of
four innings.
Speaker 2 (47:12):
Yeah, game over.
Speaker 7 (47:13):
There's just and that's.
Speaker 5 (47:14):
Not to mention he hit a home run for one
thousand hit in that same game.
Speaker 3 (47:20):
One the one thing I heard I heard people say
about Kyle and look, obviously we love them, is it.
Speaker 4 (47:25):
Well, you know, Harper missed a lot of time. Whatever
you cat Otani played without Freeman and Betts for all. Yeah,
so I don't want to hear I know, we look
at things from a Philadelphia Look, if Schwarber finishes second
to a tany, you know what, that's great, and if
somehow got.
Speaker 2 (47:41):
Him, fine with me, I just don't see.
Speaker 3 (47:44):
Him not gonna happen the second in the Major leags
and home runs forty one lads majors in RBIs with
forty five or ninety five. He's having a phenomenal year. Yeah, exactly.
But Otan's ridiculous. But here's the thing. How about that,
And it's.
Speaker 7 (47:57):
Such a fill cold water on the kind of season
Shover's had. It's usually an m v P type year
in any year, but this is an m v P
type year, and he would win it. Here's the thing
he's in a league with, and it's it's just the Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (48:09):
If the Dodgers don't win their division, if somehow the
Padres catch it, whatever, and the Phillies win theirs, then
and the Phillies may have a better.
Speaker 3 (48:18):
Record than the Dodgers.
Speaker 4 (48:19):
That's the one way, or like fifty six fifty seven,
I mean, or whatever, but that's the one way. And
I could see people making the legitimate Now, if Otani
pitches the last six.
Speaker 2 (48:31):
Weeks, he's gonna be pitching.
Speaker 3 (48:32):
Well, if he pitches like he did the other night,
he's gonna be starting games. Yeah season, well, yeah, he's starting,
so he I'm just setting.
Speaker 2 (48:41):
Oh he's pitching game one, so they're getting him right.
Speaker 7 (48:45):
He's pitching a lot more in he's going deeper the games.
Speaker 3 (48:48):
And the Phillies aren't going to win the Cy Young either.
And it's a shame because they got two pitchers having
a phenomenal years.
Speaker 2 (48:54):
But Steens is off the off the mask. Here's some stats.
Speaker 5 (48:58):
I think he's up to six wins now.
Speaker 3 (49:00):
Skeenes e r A one ninety four, which is insane.
Speaker 2 (49:04):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (49:05):
Sanchez is fourth in MLB at two thirty six strikeouts,
and I forgot strikeouts. Quality starts Zach Wheeler and Sanchez
tied for first with Valdez and Webb.
Speaker 2 (49:20):
It's sixteen each.
Speaker 3 (49:21):
And somebody named Wu for Seattle who I don't know
who that Isody?
Speaker 2 (49:27):
Yeah, John, Johnny, Hey, John knew what hospital he was patched.
Speaker 3 (49:32):
Paul Skeen's on fifteen quality starts because they won't leave
him in the game long enough.
Speaker 4 (49:37):
That's if that's a fair point, guys, John. The other night,
Skenes gave up seven hits. It was his career high
seven hits. Now, I know he hasn't pitched in a while.
Speaker 5 (49:50):
Seven hits in a full season alone, though, that's amazing.
Speaker 7 (49:54):
But it's not like he's it's a small sample size now,
like he's he's playing a lot of innings in Major
League Baseball a couple of couple of years now. The
fact that that is the first time he allowed seven
hits in his career, it is easy to give us
seven hits.
Speaker 4 (50:09):
His record at home, the numbers at home are sick.
It's almost like nobody hits him at now. Again, you
know it's Pittsburgh. I mean, you know, probably know.
Speaker 2 (50:19):
But again it's just if he.
Speaker 3 (50:21):
Played for a really good team, you just wonder what
maybe he would be cape.
Speaker 2 (50:25):
But I don't know.
Speaker 3 (50:25):
Maybe you know, you could say the same thing about.
Speaker 2 (50:27):
A lot of guys. I guess I don't know. Yeah. Good,
So John, are you good? And you've said you've said
your piece for the Saturday Morning on here? No, I
have a question, a question, I think.
Speaker 4 (50:37):
So who is Coastal Carolina starting with? And how far
are we are we away? I'm not coastal East Carolina?
And how far are we away from that opener?
Speaker 7 (50:48):
So that is going to be against NC State and
it's going to be August thirtieth. So, and the thing
is that you remember the last game to get en
CE State was the bowl game that's passed and there
was a huge brawl at the end. East Carolina won
it in dramatic fashion. It is going to be electric
and Raley is not going to be kind to the pirates.
(51:10):
So it's gonna be a heck of an atmosphere. I
cannot wait for that. College football. We are so close.
We are like this close weeks away from the season
starting August twenty third. So I'm just I can't.
Speaker 2 (51:20):
Temple, you mass I have a prediction that's where game
day is gonna.
Speaker 3 (51:27):
Owls will be two and O facing two and O
Oklahoma on.
Speaker 2 (51:33):
The I don't know fifty. Does that line then come
down to thirty five?
Speaker 3 (51:38):
No, it went off to three. I like Temple, that kid.
I've always liked Temple. Oklahoma's kind of a front. Temple's
for real. If Oklahoma came in here and lost, they
would pull the program. The program goes that's it, You're done.
Because Bud Wilkinson, Barry Switzer done. Temple's the team that
breaks Oklahoma football. The coach would not on the charter.
(52:01):
He'd be gone. They have to lead the country. They
have to send him to Siberia.
Speaker 2 (52:05):
Gone is out coach?
Speaker 7 (52:09):
Last thing before though, because I do. We have talked
about Kyle Schwarver and the MVP, like that's not the show.
Hantani is just his thing and it's going to be
hard to beat. But Kyle Schwerver, I think now is
officially on pace for fifty eight. That is such a
significant number history. Yes, exactly. That is such a significant
(52:30):
number in the Phillies history. And I think the fact
that he is even close to chasing it and could
potentially get there or even beat it, that is more
important or I think just more significant to me in
terms of his I know, MVP is a big deal.
It's a really tough thing to beat Otani on that
page that breaks that number. That is a really significant piece.
Speaker 3 (52:49):
Guy is up for a contract, a huge good contract.
What timing by him? Good time by Kyle John. I
do have one final question the MLS. Oh gosh, Philadelphia
has fifty points free to everybody in the MLS, lead
the Eastern Conference, plus nineteen gold differential best.
Speaker 2 (53:12):
In the MLS.
Speaker 5 (53:13):
Things look good.
Speaker 3 (53:14):
Can they bring home the first ever title of the
Philadelphia Union?
Speaker 2 (53:18):
Can it happen?
Speaker 7 (53:21):
It feels like this is as good of a chance
as they've had since that twenty twenty two season, So
I would say like they do have a good chance,
But it's just like that year they I have to
say they got lucky, but really they were able to
get a couple of wings there that were a little
bit lucky. It happened in MLS. It happens in all sports,
(53:44):
but MLS specifically, it can happen. But really what the
Achilles he was is right at the end, it's that
top end talent. It's getting guys been paying guys a
ton of money in the Union are trying to but
they just don't get the kind of quality of players
like that on their roster. So I think that is
still an issue. But they have done a great job revamping,
(54:05):
kind of reimagining what a Union team could look like.
I thought it was gonna run out of steam early
in the season after a few wins. It is not
run out of steam, and actually they're gaining steam. So
it just feels it feels real that yes it is
a possibility, but there's just gonna be some big guns
and heavy hitters that are going to be in their
way at times. So it's just kind of getting over
that hurdle.
Speaker 3 (54:26):
John, I remember three years ago because they lost their
championship to say that, or the Phillips lost Game six
in the World Series. Is it that late? Is it
still in October when the playoffs start? Is that what
we're talking about.
Speaker 2 (54:39):
I'll tell yeah, their schedule.
Speaker 7 (54:40):
I haven't I haven't checked that they The MLS schedule
is one of the most ridiculous things in all of sports.
But yeah, it's going to be around that time, right.
Speaker 2 (54:50):
Soccer scheduling as a rule is weird.
Speaker 3 (54:52):
You're in a league and you're out of the league
for a month because you go play here and then the.
Speaker 7 (54:57):
National run international windows.
Speaker 2 (55:00):
Yeah, set up for double heartbreak again, like.
Speaker 7 (55:04):

I get for his first PGA Tour victory, is in
the league by three over Justin Rose, so England, well represented,
(58:35):
what do we got? Yeah? And look I won Fleetwood,
he'd be blue one, Like what was it about a month
ago in Hartford against he messed up the last hole.
Speaker 2 (58:45):
And I've always been a Justin Rose guy.
Speaker 3 (58:48):
Yep, because of winning it Marion and he's just you
have to know Justin he's.
Speaker 2 (58:53):
Really a good guy. Like he really really is.
Speaker 3 (58:55):
I had a great career and then he finished second
to Masters this year, right, I believe you did.
Speaker 2 (59:01):
So imploded kind of late as I recall, I think
Scheffler just know it was that the one that scheffld
win r it was Rory. No, no, I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (59:09):
Not only did he not emplode, he was in a
damn playoff. Yeah yeah, you're right, am I talking about
the Open?
Speaker 2 (59:16):
Yeah? Yeah. So the thing is.
Speaker 4 (59:22):
Last week I said Cam Young was I think he
was a four at the time, but he was only
getting a hundred one eighty.
Speaker 2 (59:27):
I think it was it's and but he won by
the winning by Yeah. Got the sad for you ready?
Speaker 3 (59:33):
Cam Young was the one thousands different player to win
a PGA Tour.
Speaker 2 (59:37):
I didn't know that.
Speaker 3 (59:39):
For the first time, first to your knowledge, by thousands.
Can you name all thousands?
Speaker 2 (59:46):
I can't. And and Tigers won like one hundred of them.
Speaker 3 (59:50):
My point is Tigers won Jack Nicholas too, and he's
a thousand.
Speaker 2 (59:54):
He's a thousand crazy, So it's it's interesting.
Speaker 3 (59:57):
So if you want to bet Fleetwood, he's basically even money,
a little over even money.
Speaker 2 (01:00:01):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:00:02):
I think he's going to I think final if he
doesn't win this. I mean seriously, he's going to sit
there and say, like, what do I have to do.
He'll be on the Ryder Company squad for Europe.
Speaker 2 (01:00:12):
He'll be on there.
Speaker 3 (01:00:13):
Absolutely, he'll be wonder better players, good player but Justin
is ten to one.
Speaker 2 (01:00:18):
Justin Rose at ten only three bat three bat minus
ten more Cow is four back.
Speaker 3 (01:00:23):
He's nine, so they're telling you. I guess they like
more Buttilla. A guy we like is fourteen. Like Kayama
who won two weeks ago, played well and is trying
to make as I explained earlier, the top fifty so
he can play.
Speaker 2 (01:00:37):
Next week is twenty two to one. He's five back
right minus is minus a tied for fifth. Scottie Scheffler.
Scheffler six back is four to fifty.
Speaker 5 (01:00:47):
That's crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:00:48):
He's no, he's not.
Speaker 2 (01:00:49):
Well it is.
Speaker 4 (01:00:49):
You're right, Kyle, but it's not just shows how good
he is. It's like when Tiger was playing. The odds
on Tiger.
Speaker 3 (01:00:55):
Would be like ludicrous and you would say why well,
because it's Tiger.
Speaker 2 (01:00:59):
I actually have a who's trying.
Speaker 4 (01:01:01):
To get me some money this week. Wyndham Clark is
eight back. He's one hundred to one. I wouldn't touch it.
Cam Young, who did win last week, is tied. He's
only fifty five to one.
Speaker 2 (01:01:12):
It's minus six seven bet yeah, I mean I wouldn't
play him.
Speaker 5 (01:01:16):
But my guy, Justin Thomas double Bogie The eighteen so.
Speaker 4 (01:01:20):
An our guy, Ludwig I got it through Beethoven is
thirty five to one seven back. I'm gonna tell you right,
I'm not going to bet against Fleetwood. If I was
going to give you a guy, I would tell you
to either go Rose or more more Kawa. I can
either take your ten or nine to one. They got
a shot while a lot. I mean, like I said,
(01:01:40):
I think Fleetwood, I mean I mean, I mean, can.
Speaker 2 (01:01:43):
He do it again.
Speaker 3 (01:01:45):
For his mental six sixty three sixty four for Fleetwood,
that's what he's done, sixty three sixty four sixty six.
Speaker 2 (01:01:53):
So it's a par seventy course.
Speaker 3 (01:01:54):
Then it is okay, but Tia your man, but Tia
sixty two in the opening sixty.
Speaker 5 (01:02:00):
I'll happily take Justin Rose at ten to one.
Speaker 2 (01:02:03):
I mean one is a big number.
Speaker 4 (01:02:04):
Yeah, he's having a good year, just a good He
doesn't win a lot a lot of guys out there.
Speaker 3 (01:02:10):
The guy ahead of him has never never one, and
Justin is like forty three now or forty.
Speaker 2 (01:02:16):
I mean the older guys tend not.
Speaker 3 (01:02:18):
To FA's dere about my man, JJ spawn He's he's
having what a year he's having?
Speaker 2 (01:02:25):
Minus six? Yeah, Justin Roses forty five. Wow, yeah, I
mean he's been around. I mean, look, Marion was twelve
years ago. Yeah, you know, I don't think of it
that way, but it was twelve years ago. Was that puzzle?
It did?
Speaker 3 (01:02:39):
Man Rose is playing from the senior team. Just on
a personal note, personal nine. Did we have a great
week that week?
Speaker 2 (01:02:45):
Yes? We did? We ever bring the us O Kyle?
We had. I had the easiest job, I thought. He
just said the damn t I look it all over
the place I had.
Speaker 4 (01:02:54):
I had to write my forty inches at the end
of the day.
Speaker 2 (01:02:57):
So I was the last one in the ta.
Speaker 4 (01:02:59):
But we had like we'd have seven guys out there
like it was every day.
Speaker 2 (01:03:04):
And who was who's our internal? Why can't I think
of his name?
Speaker 3 (01:03:08):
He was great, he was writing like three stories a
day and they were good.
Speaker 4 (01:03:12):
And we had their intern. No I know his name,
and I'm just mister, it'll come to me my senior moment.
But it was it was such a final moment.
Speaker 2 (01:03:22):
This entire show is talking about Chrise.
Speaker 4 (01:03:27):
It was maybe maybe it was the best week of
my life as a journalist.
Speaker 2 (01:03:31):
What really that's hot? That's suppressed.
Speaker 3 (01:03:34):
I love that you added as a journalist, because otherwise
I think your wife would have been upset, gone to vacation.
Speaker 4 (01:03:41):
And we were the host. It was the only time
in my life I was the host. That's right.
Speaker 3 (01:03:44):
He was the man Mike was and all his boys
that he would see out on the tour.
Speaker 2 (01:03:49):
This all right, Mike, where are we going to eat?
Post it up in his throne, his tent, Mike Kurrent
was was huge.
Speaker 3 (01:03:56):
We were all disappointed because Michelson should have won gagged
it up again, but he won the British a month later,
and Justin Rose turned out to be a a really
worthy and he was right where Ben Hogan was on
the eighteenth, right right in the faaraway and.
Speaker 2 (01:04:13):
Hit it right by the plaque. I'm Justin Rose.
Speaker 4 (01:04:17):
Actually he did hit his stuff. Now he went slightly
over to green that he remembers it. But he chipped
it back with a fairway. Would remember when people were
just starting to do that, and he hit it to
about this.
Speaker 2 (01:04:31):
One.
Speaker 4 (01:04:32):
I think Phil might have both. Phil needed to make
a birdie on the last. He might have gagged it
up either one or two. I'm trying to remember if
it was two two wedges in his hand. But a
month later he wins the British and it was you.
Speaker 3 (01:04:48):
Know, all right, let's move on to football football week
minus two?
Speaker 2 (01:04:52):
Do that all right?
Speaker 3 (01:04:54):
I mean it's we're two weeks away from week zero
or at minus two.
Speaker 2 (01:04:58):
You buying that?
Speaker 5 (01:04:59):
Yeah, that makes sense?
Speaker 2 (01:05:00):
Minus two? All right? August twenty third, college football.
Speaker 3 (01:05:04):
We'll got the college football first and then to the
NFL twenty third.
Speaker 2 (01:05:08):
We're playing week zero, week zero? Are you ready? Any
good game? Well? And that that's okay.
Speaker 3 (01:05:16):
Some questions, okay, Kansas State, Iowa State, somewhere wait man,
I always State was really good last year. They won
eleven games. They're the dog in this game, kanast I
think it was good last year too. What's the one
who cares about last year? They might not have any
players on the team.
Speaker 2 (01:05:36):
Line?
Speaker 3 (01:05:37):
Kansas State money line minus one fifty seven point spread.
Speaker 2 (01:05:42):
Three minus three?
Speaker 3 (01:05:44):
Is that the game moving in Dublin or something? It's
definitely a neutral field. I shouldn't know the answer to
that question. Kyle's gonna find it.
Speaker 2 (01:05:53):
I'm on it.
Speaker 3 (01:05:54):
Here's a big one, Mike. That actually is a good
game in Lawrence, Kansas. There is no State getting fourteen
against the Jayhall. I'll pass, how about this one. Sam
Houston getting Sam Houston. That's Casey Keeler's old team getting
ten at Western Kentucky.
Speaker 2 (01:06:15):
I know nothing about that. That's a John Jansen question.
R Stanford with the former Eagles offensive coordinators. Now the
head coach, is that correct?
Speaker 3 (01:06:27):
Frank Frank Craig is the head coach at Stanford is
the head coach?
Speaker 2 (01:06:32):
Oh my god?
Speaker 3 (01:06:33):
Remember he was? He ran the show Offensive show, or
even might have been the head coach in Indianapolis for
a while. Oh, he was a head coach.
Speaker 2 (01:06:40):
Yeah. Was Andrew Lucks quarterback? Or is that a different time? No,
I think it was.
Speaker 4 (01:06:44):
It was No, Andrew was done by then. I think
it was Philip Rivers. Yes, Stanford getting.
Speaker 2 (01:06:51):
Two at the Rainbow Hawaii.
Speaker 5 (01:06:54):
Tough place to play at Hawaii, by the way, Iowa
State Kansas State is in Dublin, Dublin.
Speaker 2 (01:06:59):
There you go. Mike is going to go for that game.
That's a news. That's a big, big twelve game. Yeah,
doublin a Viva stadium to Dublin. You've been everywhere. I
flew into there. I can't. I didn't really spend time there.
I was up in Bell Mullet. What is that in
town in north northwestern Ireland. There is a golf course there.
(01:07:20):
Now let's move on to week one. This is a
little more interesting.
Speaker 3 (01:07:24):
You were mentioning earlier East Carolina at n C State
in Raleigh, seven o'clock, August twenty eighth, n C State
minus twelve and a half.
Speaker 2 (01:07:32):
And there was a brawl. Apparently they they played a
bowl game last year. There was a brawl. That's what
John was saying. That when they played, they kept them
out of a bowl game or something. I don't know.
He said that it was not there's going to be
hostilities there. Really, Wow, the way I happened, listened to
him when he was yeah, I was teared up. I
heard enough of Johnny Baseball. That was Johnny College Football.
(01:07:57):
I was just locked in on BASEBAK JCF Johnny College football.
Speaker 3 (01:08:00):
All Right, here's your man, Mike, your favorite football coach
on the hot seat.
Speaker 2 (01:08:05):
It's about time. He's got the best facility in the
country and they're waiting. Oh, it's got to be LSU
Nebraska minus seven Matt rule against Cincinnati in Lincoln.
Speaker 3 (01:08:21):
Saturday night, three weeks from I will say this, Cincinnati
is probably pretty good.
Speaker 2 (01:08:29):
If that's the line.
Speaker 3 (01:08:30):
Okay, America, is that that's a Big twelve.
Speaker 2 (01:08:33):
Game, isn't it. I think Cincinnati's into Nebraska's in the
Big Ten. That's a third keep saying that, God, you're beer.
It's fine. Matt cannot lose that game. I don't care
about the cover. If Matt Rule.
Speaker 4 (01:08:45):
Starts with a loss at home to Cincy, not good,
it's not that's not what you want it.
Speaker 2 (01:08:51):
It doesn't mean your season's over, but it's not good.
Speaker 5 (01:08:53):
It's not good.
Speaker 3 (01:08:55):
Big twelve versus SEC. Mike in Waco, Texas night game, Auburn.
Speaker 2 (01:09:02):
Minus one at Baylor. That's a good game, Alburn.
Speaker 3 (01:09:06):
I think it's supposed to actually be better this year.
Speaker 2 (01:09:09):
I mean, they weren't bad. I don't think last year.
Speaker 4 (01:09:11):
But but the Auburn of Auburn, that's a really interesting
opening game.
Speaker 3 (01:09:18):
Coach locks my man, Mike Locksley. Is anybody paid attention
to what he said? The Maryland coach? He said, I
lost the locker room last year. Yeah, I said, Why
did he say that? He said, because player A was
making X and player B was making HY, and player
B was not happy with player A. And that's gonna
get worse and worse as we go on in college
(01:09:39):
I don't think it's wrong. No, And Maryland's minus sixteen
against Florida Atlantic not in College Park, and you know
a lot about nothing about Florida Atlantic.
Speaker 2 (01:09:50):
I know about Marlin.
Speaker 4 (01:09:51):
What you tell me again, I would say that Coach
Lockley don't lose that game.
Speaker 3 (01:09:56):
But also, Kyle, this is important. Uh oh, I mean
very important. Georgia Tech favored Wow minus four against Coach
Prime in Boulder noon game on August thirtieth.
Speaker 2 (01:10:13):
I mean they have so little faith in Coach Prime without.
Speaker 5 (01:10:18):
Yeah, pretty pretty key losses there for Colorado. But to
be an underdog against Georgia Georgia Tech might not be bad.
Speaker 2 (01:10:29):
Georgia Tech, when were they any good? I don't think
they've been horrible though, like like you know, they're not.
They're not like top six and six. That's who they are.
Speaker 3 (01:10:37):
One Grant Field, Downtown Atlanta.
Speaker 2 (01:10:41):
Ever been to their stadium right there in downtown. But
I've find the varsity. I've heard of the war. I've
heard nothing, But you've heard of the varsity. You haven't
been to the.
Speaker 3 (01:10:50):
Varsity in Atlanta a couple of times Final four I
can go to varsity. Come on, man, did you go
to the gone with the wind Museum. No, have you
done anything ever.
Speaker 2 (01:11:02):
In the Dublin.
Speaker 4 (01:11:03):
That's very often in Atlanta right now if you tell
me Augusta, yeah, that could.
Speaker 3 (01:11:07):
Be a man knows agus. He knows all the waffles, shops, houses,
Waffle barbecue, every boat Jangles.
Speaker 2 (01:11:15):
All right. The game of the months week one.
Speaker 3 (01:11:21):
Buck Eyes minus three against the arch Mannings in Columbus,
Ohio money line minus one forty eight for a high
State plus one twenty for Texas over under Micas forty eight.
Your initial Ohio State still has not pick a quarterback.
Ryan Day says, it's very close. See my man, yo, Ryan,
(01:11:44):
pick a quarterback is August right, Ryan's what are you doing?
Speaker 4 (01:11:48):
Ryan's record against up until the playoffs this year, obviously
it got real good. Yep is not being I have
to lean towards Texas, and I know arch Manning forget
forget ars Man.
Speaker 3 (01:12:02):
Their defense is really really good. They played him in
the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (01:12:06):
Ohio State one twenty eight to fourteen, I believe was
the final. There was an interception late I think in
Ohio State Guy, there was a one touch, one possession game.
Speaker 2 (01:12:17):
Texas.
Speaker 4 (01:12:17):
Look, they're both really good. They could both, but Ohio
State probably isn't going to be as good as they
were last year. At the end of the year, they
were really good. The quarterback was really good. The wide
receiver is nuts.
Speaker 3 (01:12:30):
But I think Texas is going to if they win
this game, it's going to be because of their.
Speaker 2 (01:12:34):
Defense, not necessarily because of arch. I've met Texas.
Speaker 3 (01:12:37):
They opened at Ohio State and they playing the SEC brutal,
and Penn State opens against Villanovava Nevada.
Speaker 7 (01:12:48):
Fi.
Speaker 3 (01:12:48):
I mean, really, come on Kyle August thirtieth at two
o'clock or maybe it's there and find out where Tennessee
is playing Syracuse. It gives me a versus because I
have an opinion on that game depending on where it is.
Speaker 2 (01:13:00):
It looks like it's a neutral game.
Speaker 3 (01:13:04):
Mike, you brought up the Nidney Alliance, who are going
to be rented one, two, three. Some start three, but
they're gonna move up because one of the top two
is losing exactly and Penn State is probably not going
to lose their opener. Three point thirty pm, two hundred
miles from where we are sitting. They're giving forty five
and a half to the Nevadas.
Speaker 2 (01:13:24):
They're not going to Nevada. They are not. This is
not a road game. Forty five even play the game.
There you go, Penn State. That makes me sick.
Speaker 4 (01:13:32):
By the time they play, I don't know who Texas has.
Speaker 3 (01:13:36):
If they could be number one, They're going to be
number one at some point this season, unless they lose
at home to Oregon.
Speaker 2 (01:13:43):
Okay, they will be number one by the time they
play Ohio State.
Speaker 3 (01:13:47):
I think the winner of Ohio State Texas will lose
to somebody in the interim.
Speaker 2 (01:13:51):
I'm thinking they could, especially if it's Texas.
Speaker 4 (01:13:55):
I mean, if Texas wins that game in Ohio State,
I gotta believe Texas has led two or three games Georgia.
Speaker 3 (01:14:00):
So the listeners are interested in this. What is your
favorite sport of all? What do you like the most?
Speaker 7 (01:14:07):
Golf?
Speaker 3 (01:14:07):
College football? Probably college football, college and golf. Golf would
be in the dead and you know when Tiger that
was Hager. But I mean, when was the last time, seriously,
the Penn State was number one? Nineteen ninety nine? Was
that it it started? Yeah, yeah, that was.
Speaker 2 (01:14:23):
They haven't been. I'm just curious. I don't know they
have not been. That was the year that when they
went nine and oh and lost to Minnesota.
Speaker 3 (01:14:29):
That's the one. Okay, I sent you up and you
messed it all up and that was it. I didn't
in the same sense, I.
Speaker 2 (01:14:34):
Didn't go to the minister. Dana Way.
Speaker 3 (01:14:36):
I was watching on TV as I was, I was
covering Penn State. I said, I said, Dana, and she
was mad at me. She's a Penn State graft.
Speaker 2 (01:14:44):
Yeah, the Minnesota got They threw some long and the
next week some guy I never heard of, through a
couple of late touchdown passed lear LeVar Irington and then
they lost.
Speaker 3 (01:14:53):
They won the bowl game twenty four nothing against a
and m I picked twenty seven nothing.
Speaker 4 (01:14:59):
That was Sandusky last game that series. Tennessee game Hensday
will be number one this year. So ninety nine they
were number one.
Speaker 3 (01:15:08):
They were never really that good that year they were
number one.
Speaker 2 (01:15:10):
No, I get it. So he lose the Minnesota after
you love this.
Speaker 3 (01:15:15):
They have like fourth and two at the Minnesota like
thirty two yard line, and if they convert the game's
over or kick a field goal, they go up where
they got to score a touchdown?
Speaker 2 (01:15:27):
What do they do? What? What did my man Joe do?
He went for it. He punted. Oh he punted, No.
Speaker 3 (01:15:35):
He did, and then Minnesota came down and hit a
field goal with the busser.
Speaker 2 (01:15:39):
You know, I like punted.
Speaker 3 (01:15:41):
The only thing you couldn't do is what they did.
And then next week that I was about to mention this,
I went to the next game. They're playing Michigan and
some guy nobody had ever heard of, those two late
touchdown passes to beat him.
Speaker 2 (01:15:53):
It was that Tom Brady and nobody who's this guy?
Speaker 3 (01:15:58):
Who is this guy's a man?
Speaker 2 (01:16:00):
Lost to Michigan State and then they won the Bullhankers.
Speaker 5 (01:16:04):
Brutal.
Speaker 2 (01:16:05):
I was there in the Alamo Dome in San Antonio.
Speaker 5 (01:16:07):
I'll take you back to the Syracuse Tennessee game, speaking
of Atlanta never played in Mercedes Benz Stadium.
Speaker 4 (01:16:15):
Is that like the college football kickoff class at Syracuse?
Speaker 3 (01:16:18):
So it's more of a Tennessee game than a Syracuse game.
Tennessee fans will find their way to it. Yeah right,
I'm less interested in this game. I was gonna try
Syracuse plus the points, maybe Syracuse and twice.
Speaker 2 (01:16:28):
I'm a fan of the coach at Syracuse.
Speaker 3 (01:16:30):
I like him. I think it does a good job.
You know, Kyle McCord is not there anymore with the Eagles. Well,
there's going to be the third quarterback for the Eagles,
Kyle McCord. If I care, my care and everybody, if
they're playing their third quarterback, it's a problem.
Speaker 2 (01:16:48):
It's a problem. Problem.
Speaker 3 (01:16:49):
Well, maybe they're winning by fifty.
Speaker 2 (01:16:53):
The third quarterback.
Speaker 5 (01:16:54):
They're gonna miss Kenny Pickett.
Speaker 3 (01:16:55):
All right again, we're back to week one, Mike. We're
all going because we think we can drive there in
four and a half hours after the show. Temple favored
on the road minus three and a half in Amherst.
Speaker 4 (01:17:11):
I'm gonna go out and I don't know anything about
you Mass. Obviously, I know very little about Temple.
Speaker 2 (01:17:16):
Do you care about you know? I'm going with the
Casey cure to win his debut. I don't know. I'm
telling you this.
Speaker 5 (01:17:21):
The only thing I know about UMass is that they
must stink if they're dogs at home again.
Speaker 2 (01:17:27):
They do, there's no doubt.
Speaker 4 (01:17:29):
But I'm trying to think how many Temple coaches have
won their coaching debuts.
Speaker 2 (01:17:34):
I rule did not. Wayne Harden was the last. I don't.
I have to back and looked at it.
Speaker 4 (01:17:39):
No, I'm guessing maybe the guy that took over for
Matt might have because that team won eight and five.
Speaker 2 (01:17:44):
Caring no, right, well, he might have won his first game.
Speaker 3 (01:17:48):
I don't need to look this up because I'll tell
you what our listeners are really conservative.
Speaker 2 (01:17:52):
Which Temple? I want the Owls to be two and
Ozer playing the Sooners.
Speaker 5 (01:17:57):
Quick name all thousand PGA winners.
Speaker 3 (01:18:00):
Final game will discuss August l s U. It's it's
getting three and a half Death Vallet versus Death Valley
at Clemson. Uh Ben State's playing Nevada and LSU is
going to Clemson.
Speaker 2 (01:18:14):
See that's what's wrong with States going to sit.
Speaker 4 (01:18:17):
There and they might have the best team, but they're
gonna tell me, well, we deserve to be No, no, dude,
go play somebody please.
Speaker 3 (01:18:25):
Uh So you're like you're in here, Mike. I'm leaning
towards the Clemsons. Now we're hearing that the l s
U quarterback.
Speaker 2 (01:18:33):
Has some issues. You got Brian Kelly's got issues.
Speaker 7 (01:18:37):
Off.
Speaker 4 (01:18:38):
I think it's going to be really good because LSU
is good. I mean, they're legitimately good, but man, Clemson,
that's that's and Clemson's good. It ain't like like you're
going there. He could be your husband trophy.
Speaker 2 (01:18:52):
Kyle, you got a thought on the Tigers versus the Tigers.
Speaker 5 (01:18:54):
Yeah, I'm gonna go with the home squad here. It
seems like there is some We have time to Hawks.
Speaker 4 (01:19:02):
We have three weeks. Do we have the Heisman? I'm
guessing arch is not the favorite for the Heisman? I
should I don't think I was gonna say. I don't
think he's gonna win it. He's one of the great
quarterbacks of all time.
Speaker 2 (01:19:13):
He could be How would you suggest.
Speaker 5 (01:19:15):
Club Nick is plus seven hundred, Arch Manning plus seven Okay,
so he's a co favorite, and new Smier plus seven hundred.
Who would be fourth? I'm just curious. Uh, Jeremiah Smith
huh yeah, the guy for a hot day to receive receiver. Well,
now he's the best player. Yeah, and he'll be the
best player next year because he's only a sophomore.
Speaker 3 (01:19:37):
If they have somebody that can throw the ball to
I could throw the Penn States.
Speaker 2 (01:19:44):
Ryan after him. If I'm Ryan that yeah, two hours. Absolutely.
If you're RyanDan you lived in Michigan, You're getting fired.
Speaker 3 (01:19:50):
If I'm Ryan fact and I'm sitting here in my
offense room forgot, I'm saying if he's number four right,
I believe he number four on the if he knows
and touch the ball right twelve to fifteen times game, somehow,
some way you're gone.
Speaker 2 (01:20:06):
Whoever starting is no longer.
Speaker 4 (01:20:07):
Did you see him last year in everydiculous against the
Oregon They threw two yard passed and he ran seventy?
Speaker 2 (01:20:13):
Isn't Wrongly you're right?

The Chapman's going to be there, or the Pat Chapman,
the owner of Smarty Jones, will be into Tennis. One
of the great people I have ever met, who had
one of the great lines of all time, Chapman Auto Group.
Speaker 2 (01:25:05):
Everybody knows about the Chapman's right.
Speaker 3 (01:25:06):
They're all over the place, owned by the late Roy Chapman.
Speaker 2 (01:25:10):
And I didn't I knew who they were, but not really.
I've never really met him.
Speaker 3 (01:25:14):
So Smarty Jones wins the Arkansas Derby in two thousand
and four. He's on his way to Kentucky, Sun defeated.
I get their number.
Speaker 2 (01:25:21):
I call them. They're driving back to Florida.
Speaker 3 (01:25:23):
I don't know why they were driving me sometain could
have flown, but whatever, they were driving back to Florida.
And I get them on the phone and mister Chapman
Roy says he's a car guy. He's used cars, new cars.
He deals things, right, he sells things. He says, I
think I might sell this source. They're trying to buy
the source at His wife goes, you'll sell this source
(01:25:44):
over my dead body. I said, yeah, I could use
that in my story. I think that it was a
great line. Of course, he went on, we know the
rest of that story, all right, NFL might not exhibition games,
thank god.
Speaker 2 (01:25:58):
Yeah, I know you'll be happy. We're we're getting closer here.
Speaker 3 (01:26:01):
Eagleson Is that line changed because of the world, because
of the Parsons situation? Minus seven seven money line Thursday
minus three fifteen A right, they're not losing the game,
Eagles Cowboy eight twenty pm at the link unless they're
(01:26:21):
in their new stadium. Can you ran about the new
stadium by the way, I mean seriously, yep, the lake
is hold twenty years old, twenty years But you know
what this is all about, Well, first of all, because
the Sixers and the Flyers are getting their thing.
Speaker 5 (01:26:35):
There it is and six Ers six Ers mentioned.
Speaker 2 (01:26:40):
Yeah we got I'm sorry, that's right, And that's the
long The thing is.
Speaker 4 (01:26:43):
That Jeffrey Lourie, look, Jeffrey, look here, gonna they're gonna
do this. They're going to get in conjunction to have
a we can get a Super Bowl here, which I
don't want, I don't care about, but that's okay, I
understand why it would be a big deal, and we
can get a Final Four, which to a lot of
people getting we're having a dome stadium or oh, I
don't think they're gonna build it if it's not a dome,
(01:27:05):
or at least a retractable dome. And I know we
can retract it in September when it's seventy degrees outside.
Speaker 3 (01:27:12):
But again you're talking, we're probably talking eight to ten
years down the road. I'm guessing where would it be
I'm guessing in South Philly's, I guess.
Speaker 2 (01:27:22):
I mean, I haven't heard that they're going to they're
looking at anything else. The Browns just got the They
just they all get new stadium.
Speaker 3 (01:27:29):
The Chicago's wants to get one because they go to
the city and they and they harpoon the city.
Speaker 2 (01:27:36):
And they say, oh, they harpoon them. I like them.
Speaker 3 (01:27:39):
Buffalo.
Speaker 2 (01:27:39):
Isn't Buffalo getting more? Yeah, there's a there's this in process.
Speaker 3 (01:27:42):
So Buffalo's is fifty forty years old or whatever the
hell it is. Maw Ours is twenty years old.
Speaker 4 (01:27:47):
That's right, and the next thing you're gonna hear that's
another five to six seventy eight years. The Phillies need one, absolutely, Yeah,
the Phillies have one of the best stadiums.
Speaker 2 (01:27:55):
In the baseball. It's too old.
Speaker 3 (01:27:57):
Not it's old. It was they started. They started twenty
years ago.
Speaker 2 (01:28:01):
Like I go fo.
Speaker 3 (01:28:02):
Yeah, I remember, in fact, I was flying in from
Buffalo with Saint Jose when right after the vet got unplugged, and.
Speaker 2 (01:28:09):
It seems like it was just yesterday. It was. Unfortunately,
it's twenty one years ago.
Speaker 5 (01:28:14):
So Cleveland. So Cleveland signs eighteen quarterbacks and now they need.
Speaker 4 (01:28:18):
Yeah, apparently they're everybody needs a new stadium. They all
need new Kansas City stadium been there for got a
new stadium.
Speaker 2 (01:28:27):
Sorry.
Speaker 5 (01:28:28):
They've been talking about a Temple stadium since I was
since I was enrolled.
Speaker 4 (01:28:31):
They had one they toured. I think I think Kansas City. Actually,
I think they are getting the new stadium.
Speaker 2 (01:28:36):
Gone to Kansas they're talking about're.
Speaker 4 (01:28:38):
Talking about it. But think about this. Their stadium is
fifty five years old. Ours is twenty years old. All right,
So it's over Eagles crush Cowboys. It's just I'm not
saying you're crushing them.
Speaker 3 (01:28:49):
I'm saying they're going to win the game, because if
they don't, this town won't know how to react. All right,
Friday night? Where is the Kansas City at the LA
Chargers On the Friday? The next game games in Brazil.
That's somewhere else at Brazil. That's the game the Eagles
played the Packers in last year Kansas City minus three.
Speaker 2 (01:29:10):
So some quarterbacks gonna get hurt in that game.
Speaker 3 (01:29:13):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:29:13):
Uh so we're back in Brazil. That's a new deal.
Eight o'clock. What do we like there, Mike?
Speaker 4 (01:29:20):
Do you know the Chiefs have won seventeen or eighteen
straight one score games.
Speaker 7 (01:29:24):
I do.
Speaker 4 (01:29:25):
That's like, I can't bet against Kansas City. I mean
I said the same thing in the Super Bowl for
all the reasons that Yeah, and the Eagles killed him.
Speaker 2 (01:29:32):
Yes, I get it, But you betting against Kansas City.
Speaker 3 (01:29:36):
And I understand one of the receivers isn't going to play,
he's going to be suspended.
Speaker 2 (01:29:40):
Is Mahomes still potet goes back?
Speaker 4 (01:29:43):
M's still in the team. Well, the Eagles didn't care
about that. But apparently what I can't look. I like
the Chargers, I like hard boy, Like did you see
that the injury they had? Yes, Sir Sean Sackle, who
just signed a ninety two million.
Speaker 3 (01:29:58):
Dollars gone for the year ruptured. His timing was good
with signing the contract, so the left side he protects
the quarterback not good. I mean, look, it would it surprise.
I think the Chargers are good.
Speaker 4 (01:30:15):
I think the Chargers got a real good chance of
making the playoffs. Again, Denver's going to I mean that
division got tough, but it's it's.
Speaker 2 (01:30:22):
I mean, you know they're gonna play.
Speaker 3 (01:30:23):
On some crap field down there, like the Eagles played
on last year and here's a question on the first Sunday,
September seventh, and Kyle, that's the same question for you.
Would you, under any circumstance if it was on in
your local market watch Arizona at no. I thought you
(01:30:43):
were gonna go the other one, go carry Jackson. That's
an opening game. Yes, I will say this at the
same time, Carolina at Jackson was Carolinia and Jackson. But
I can watch because of the quarterbacks. I mean, the
Carolina played better at the Kellen Moore debut at New Orleans.
You're not an interesting will say.
Speaker 2 (01:31:03):
This, who's the starting quarterback to them?
Speaker 3 (01:31:04):
Tyler Jonathan Gannon and I know the games on them.
Speaker 2 (01:31:08):
Better not lose that game. Archie Man quarterback is coming
back the Cardinals. Better not do that game. Giving five
and a half, you think the coaches get fired.
Speaker 7 (01:31:18):
But a game we're.
Speaker 3 (01:31:19):
Playing the Saints.
Speaker 2 (01:31:20):
Saints might win three or four games this year. Here
here's the game that is is very intrigued.
Speaker 3 (01:31:27):
Cincinnati, which always starts in their last five six years
minus five and a half.
Speaker 2 (01:31:36):
At Cleveland, and they gotta.
Speaker 3 (01:31:38):
Win Cleveland, which is starting some form of Joe Flacco.
Speaker 2 (01:31:43):
Deshaun Watkins said Tyler remember that too. The first couple
of weeks are the first couple of weeks here, Gabriel there,
who knows?
Speaker 4 (01:31:55):
There's always four or five games before we sit here
and go.
Speaker 2 (01:31:57):
That's why Cincinnati played Joe Burt.
Speaker 3 (01:32:00):
He lost at home to New England last year in
the opener.
Speaker 2 (01:32:03):
Did Borrow play in the exhibition games last year? We
don't know that.
Speaker 3 (01:32:05):
I don't care.
Speaker 4 (01:32:06):
Somebody knows that Cincinnati, I don't know that better win
its first two games, because then your schedule gets gets
a lot, gets tougher. They play Cleveland and some other
bozo team in week two.
Speaker 5 (01:32:17):
Week two is at home against Jacksonville.
Speaker 4 (01:32:21):
Yeah, they're not a bozo team maybe, but not tendancy.
They better Cincinnati. It would behoove Cincinnati to be two.
And oh right, here's a big one Mike one o'clock game.
Speaker 3 (01:32:34):
Gillette Stadium with the new twelve foot statue in honor
of number twelve. Yes, just unveiled last night New England
giving three to the returning hero Pete Carroll, who watch
coach the Patriots. I believe before.
Speaker 2 (01:32:50):
Belgium, is that? Yes? Sound right?
Speaker 3 (01:32:54):
I think he think he was no, no, no, before that,
I think there was another coach too, but yeah, you're
minus three, Mike Ball taking over young quarterback.
Speaker 2 (01:33:06):
We like, Drake May How did your elimination pool go
this or it was over by week three?
Speaker 3 (01:33:10):
Week week three? Everybody everybody who's out, including me, I won.
I think I put up two hundred and one thousand.
I was like, that's an interesting way tie. That's an
interesting game because actually it's two teams that people think
can be better.
Speaker 8 (01:33:24):
New England's home, there's the quarterback in Vegas. There's days
Gino smith manos Please. I got no problem with Carroll's
reuniting with him. Carol had them that that's an interesting game.
I have to think about that for a while. But
there's one I like.
Speaker 3 (01:33:41):
The team that shall not be named is home against
Miami giving one.
Speaker 2 (01:33:46):
To my Dolphins. I'm taking the Dolphins. I'll take. I
think I'm leaning to a point. Who is this is
a quarterback for the team that shall not be named?
I like, I like the joke.
Speaker 4 (01:33:58):
Yeah, now is he still in the Miami The Miami
coach may not.
Speaker 2 (01:34:03):
Survive and I like him. Yeah, he's fun.
Speaker 4 (01:34:06):
But I mean they got two of they got Hill
and they just don't win games against teams it's like, yeah,
I tell you there's another I said this ten times.
Miami would be who Miami to win?
Speaker 2 (01:34:19):
Yeah, that would be help. I don't get how their dogs? Yeah,
why are they the dog? I don't get it. What what?
What is?
Speaker 4 (01:34:24):
And we'll sit here after the game's played and Jones
will throw three touchdowns and will Man who saw that coming?
Speaker 2 (01:34:30):
Daniel Jones?
Speaker 3 (01:34:31):
All right, Washington. Everybody loves Washington because they did well at.
Speaker 5 (01:34:36):
A really good year.
Speaker 3 (01:34:38):
Went out with j Daniels. She was sensations, no argument
about that. She was minus six and a half against
Russell Wilson and the Nygs.
Speaker 2 (01:34:49):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:34:50):
The game is at whatever the name of that stadium is,
intlanda Field.
Speaker 2 (01:34:55):
Washington's at home in that game. They are I can't
bet the Jints, No Giants? Were you Russell Wilson man
that quarterback? I think I might bet bet the Gints there,
but I can't. You're not going like I could you
can do anything. They have a sports book right now,
there's like this will allow you to be capable.
Speaker 3 (01:35:14):
That promises like there's like eight teams you just sit
in there like like they might cover. I'm not saying
they can't cover or whatever. Here's the there's the here's
the one o'clock.
Speaker 2 (01:35:25):
We're going to this game. Aaron Rodgers return to the meadows.
Speaker 3 (01:35:34):
Giving three where he's playing against the quarterback that was
the starting quarterback for the Sailors they just last year.
Speaker 2 (01:35:43):
You couldn't make this off over under thirty nine.
Speaker 4 (01:35:47):
I would that there were people to think that Jets actually,
now that Sala's not there and this guy whatever, you know,
their team is not have some parts. Yeah, I would
lead towards pitt Aaron Mike Tomlin. I'm leaning towards Mike.
Mike a five hundred. He's better than five, never been
(01:36:08):
below five.
Speaker 2 (01:36:08):
But that was my point.
Speaker 3 (01:36:09):
Oh, I'm sorry. I've never won last decade, but he
did win a soup two. No, he won't one. Are
you buying it? Are you buying Pittsburgh?
Speaker 5 (01:36:22):
I think this is a disgusting game.
Speaker 4 (01:36:25):
That's a that's a good that's a good point.
Speaker 2 (01:36:28):
Honestly, just stay away from me.
Speaker 5 (01:36:30):
I think it's gonna be just a sloppy defensive game.
Speaker 2 (01:36:33):
There's a as the over order the first week sixteen
is that everybody, everybody, everybody.
Speaker 3 (01:36:39):
I might bet one or two because you don't know,
do we really.
Speaker 2 (01:36:43):
Know what Pittsburgh and Jets are gonna look like in
that game? Right?
Speaker 3 (01:36:48):
Always huge NFC South Tampa Bay. Do they play Atlanta
every week or is that just madmagic? They play like
nine times? Yeah, Tampa Bay giving wanted to have Michael
pen that game is that Atlanta?
Speaker 4 (01:37:05):
Yes, Look, logic would suggest you play Tampa, all right,
but Baker Mayfield had a great year. Listen, but find
some coordinators now at Jacksonville.
Speaker 2 (01:37:17):
Really, I'm as you knew that. Yeah, well they hired
him so they could try to straighten out.
Speaker 3 (01:37:23):
You don't know things, but you know that's interesting. I
know things sometimes and nobody cares about I that's a
big game for Atlanta because if Atlanta thinks they could
be they should have made the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (01:37:34):
Lasher and that game up. Kirk wasn't playing at that point.
That was Michael Penny.
Speaker 5 (01:37:40):
They made the point, what Kirk.
Speaker 2 (01:37:43):
Cousins is still on their team? I have him money.
Speaker 4 (01:37:48):
I mean, that's a game again, I probably would because
logic suggests you play Tampa. But you know, Atlanta, that's
a big.
Speaker 2 (01:37:56):
Game for Atlanta. He went it home at four o'clock.
Mike Current San Francisco.
Speaker 3 (01:38:03):
Still they like them still minus two and a half
at Seattle.
Speaker 2 (01:38:07):
I don't know if I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:38:08):
Know what to make of Seattle second year head coach
and the new new quarterback right from Minnesota, Donald Sam Donald.
I mean I would lean towards the Niners, right, But
again it's you know, I don't know what to make
McCaffrey's back. Is uh is cam Warton starting for Tennessee?
I assume he is?
Speaker 2 (01:38:28):
But the other guy he's hurt, isn't he? Jane stinks? Right?
Speaker 3 (01:38:33):
I assume Come on, it's Denver minus seven and a
half Upper Tennessee at Tennessee.
Speaker 2 (01:38:40):
No Denver, Oh, I have I'd have to lean towards Denver.
Speaker 4 (01:38:43):
Denver had a very good year under show the defense
could make life hard for Cam in that game.
Speaker 2 (01:38:49):
Name another player.
Speaker 3 (01:38:50):
On Tennessee beside cambrdon can't now he's going name the.
Speaker 2 (01:38:56):
I'm gonna get in trouble. But that's a game.
Speaker 4 (01:38:58):
If you're going to play a teas, you tease Denver
down to like a win because they ain't losing that game.
Speaker 2 (01:39:06):
Here's a really good game four twenty five Detroit. Let's
just listen to this. Getting a point and a half
at green Bay. That makes sense.
Speaker 3 (01:39:17):
No, and green Bay didn't beat one team like that.
They had a beat last year.
Speaker 4 (01:39:21):
But a lot of people think that green Bay could
be that division's good.
Speaker 2 (01:39:25):
I mean, hell, Chicago could be decent.
Speaker 5 (01:39:27):
Jordan Love's got to take another step.
Speaker 2 (01:39:28):
Well, he was hurt last year.
Speaker 4 (01:39:30):
He was he got to figure that out and now
he's got They liked this wide receiver they just drafted.
The people were saying he but he's only been in
the league two years.
Speaker 2 (01:39:39):
It's not his fault. He just doesn't play. I will.
Speaker 3 (01:39:45):
I'll tell you what I would lean towards green Bay.
I'm taking Detroit. I love I look I like Detroit
a lot like Detroit. They took Matthew Golden from the
Texas people have said, apparently he looks really good. Uh
so Fize Stadium rams Texans rams minus three. That's but
Matthew Stafford, what's the deal, Mike, Well, they're claiming four o'clock.
(01:40:09):
They think, now you're supposed to do something this week
that if he doesn't do it this week, then the
red flag start going off because I don't even know
who their backup is. Texas was a Texans were disappointment,
but they had injuries injury.
Speaker 4 (01:40:22):
I think they're good. If well, again, if Stafford's questionable
or whatever. To me, well, Jimmy's played, I mean that's
not and and the Rams defense at the end of
the year, they got a young, good defense. I'd stay
I'm not I'd stay away from that game because I
think that could be a good game.
Speaker 2 (01:40:42):
Sunday Night football rematch of the AFC.
Speaker 3 (01:40:48):
Second Oh, this is a good Buffalo minus one and
a half against the Baltimore home the Ravens. Buffalo is
the home squad. That is correct. What I like the Ravens.
They're better than Buffalo. Yeah, but they've lost them the
last era times. But they usually don't irritate you till
the end.
Speaker 2 (01:41:09):
They irritated me a lot less. I could go anyway
in that game. I mean, I'll lean Baltimore.
Speaker 3 (01:41:15):
Okay, I'll lean hard knocks the Buffalo Bills the Buffalo
hard knock. I have not watched any of it yet,
but I do always like hard You know what people
forget and I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:41:23):
Look.
Speaker 4 (01:41:24):
I don't think they would have beaten the Eagles. I
would have been a better game. They got that call
that was very controversial. Yeah, I mean, I mean people
forget like they go, well, they went to the Kansas
City and lost.
Speaker 2 (01:41:37):
I'm like, yeah, but it was like, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:41:39):
You were kind, they cheated, let's steal in reality, they
wanted the Chiefs to win three in a row, and
then the Eagles said, no.
Speaker 2 (01:41:45):
You're not winning, you're getting killed. Get out.
Speaker 3 (01:41:47):
Nobody was beating.
Speaker 4 (01:41:48):
In fact, the team I think would have given the
Eagles the best game would have been the Ravens.
Speaker 2 (01:41:52):
Yeah, but they.
Speaker 5 (01:41:53):
But they choked because they fumbled twice and they just
dropped that two points by.
Speaker 2 (01:41:58):
The way, and I'm not going to the way. What
is John Harball?
Speaker 3 (01:42:01):
They they don't even get to the ANFC title game,
Like they don't at least the Bills get to the
title game and lose to the Chiefs. Underachieving squad. Yes,
the players that they've had over the last I.
Speaker 5 (01:42:13):
Think Harball in the playoffs throws away against against two
years ago, against the horrible Embarrasses, they were the better team.
Speaker 2 (01:42:25):
Yeah, they were.
Speaker 3 (01:42:26):
Monday Night Football opening with NFC North Minnesota with your
man J. J. McCarthy against the Bears with Addison's not
playing at Soldier Field.
Speaker 2 (01:42:38):
That's man, that's Minnesota. That's a really interesting one and
a half. I would lean.
Speaker 3 (01:42:46):
Towards the Vikings with their new coach the former Lions offensive.
Speaker 2 (01:42:49):
I would lean towards.
Speaker 4 (01:42:50):
I think the Vikings coach is one of the best coaches.
He's tremendous and Brian. I think there's gonna be all
that hype with the Bears, and I think, look, I
think that guy is going to do a decent job.
Speaker 5 (01:43:01):
But Calen Williams, to me is still like what is he?
I like the Vikings in that game. I like the
Vikes too. The Bears. I think it's gonna take a
couple of weeks for them to figure out who they
are and who they want to be with the new
coach and Caleb Willing, but they're still trying to figure
it out.
Speaker 4 (01:43:16):
There's about six or seven games, Dick, that you brought
up that you could make me a case.
Speaker 2 (01:43:21):
I got for either side.
Speaker 3 (01:43:22):
I gotta pick. I gotta get a winner in the
first week. Ain't for your Yeah, I'm assuming eight goals?
Who else eight goals? Who else would be in the play?
Speaker 2 (01:43:34):
I g l y s. There's not a I was
never may. Yeah, sure there's a spreads. You know what
I saw you guys love this story. Whatever this say
is make it quick.
Speaker 4 (01:43:48):
They had her eagles like on a shirt. Yeah L
whatever E L y L E L yes whatever she
said in his spelling, I should have bought one. Biggest spread,
by the way, is a Denver, Tennessee seventh.
Speaker 2 (01:44:02):
That would be my old everybody you'll take that would
be my other choice.
