New Jersey. Gambling problem, as we said one eight hundred gambler.
Let's review last week's Eagles game against the Chiefs. I
looked at it this way, and I think they made
a decision early on. The Chiefs couldn't score, so they
said we're not We're just gonna make sure we don't
turn the ball over and we think that they will

(03:22):
not find a way to get enough points. And that's
exactly what happened. Twenty was good enough to win the game.
That's not gonna work this week. You're gonna have to
score against the Rams, clearly, But that's kind of the
way I saw it, Mike, what'd you see last time? Yeah?
I mean twenty might not have been enough, you know.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Obviously that interception down near the goal line and Mahomes
misses a guy who how that happened? Mahomes looks a
little lost to me. He looks like and we saw
him do this all last year, but he kept doing it.
They kept doing it. He just like that passed at Kelsey.
That wasn't a great fooon ball. I know that, Kelsey,

(03:57):
but it could have been better. Yet, the Eagles are
playing again they did it last year, and people get upset.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
They're playing exactly how. It's week two.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
The offense is just feeling itself out, as is our
most offenses around the league because it's exhibition season. Their
defenses look pretty good for a defense that's got all
these new parts. You know, I had no problem with
how they won, but all I keep hearing, well, you know,
Jalen is the only quarterback starting quarterback. I guess it

(04:28):
hasn't thrown a touch down passing the NFL. Who cares
do I care. We said this all last year, how
the Eagles is gonna win wing? Oh my god, they
gotta throw it. Well, you know what they got in
the Super Bowl, the defense and then he throved for
two hundred and fifty yards or whatever. I am not
worried about the Eagles. They're not gonna go seventeen to oh,
but they're gonna be there at the end in some way,

(04:48):
shape or form, and then we'll see what happens. They've
played two good The Dallas is a good team. They're
not a great team. Good team. Kansas City is still
Kansas City, and I know they're not the Kansas City
that we They got injuries at wide receiver, their line's
not real good. Now they're gonna play two more good teams.
Play the Rams, which is a revenge game for the Rams.
They're gonna play the Bucks, which is a revenge game

(05:08):
for the Eagles because they never beat the Bucks.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
They could be four and oh in two weeks. They
could be two and two. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
But again, if you told me before the year, here's
the Eagles first four games, I would say three and
one would be pretty good. Two and two okay, maybe,
and they still could be four and oh yeah, I
think they could go to Tampa and whin. I'm not
gonna sit there and say they can't. But again, I
think the Eagles are fine. And as I was saying before,
Uncle Nick is fifty four and eighteen since his two

(05:37):
and five.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Start, and that includes the one and six implosion at
the end.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
And if one more person this week, any week brings
up twenty twenty three, and oh we could be.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Seeing this again.

Speaker 5 (05:47):
What because they because they it went goofy in twenty three,
This team's gonna go goofy high. They went goofy in
twenty four as well. In the beginning of the year
that happened. Oh yeah, but right, they were ten to one.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
They were winning ugly? Should we say I didn't think
they were winning ugly? Was the Bills game ugly that
they won two years ago? With the Dolphins game ugly?

Speaker 5 (06:08):
Bit Dolphins game is really good. I remember that one.
They played great, But I think it's more of twenty
twenty four. They started winning ugly in the beginning of
the year.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
I can't win, John, every week, whether you're Ohio State,
whether you're the Eagles, whatever, you can't on.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
A second last nineteen weeks. The Eagles have won eighteen exactly,
so maybe you can win and the one loss, but
it sounds like you're going to dominate or or just
par teams.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
Tom believing in every week.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Think about this a second eighteen and one in the
NFL and the one they lost her I almost counted.
They're not they're not far. And I got a couple
of stats and them with John, we'll get to your
thoughts here on the coach thirty six and two when
they win the turnover marching under Syrian thirty six and two,
and what are they doing when they went one and six?

(06:56):
What weren't they doing?

Speaker 3 (06:58):
And they went to jailing at some point after the
two and two start last year, okay, and he had
some stuff. But Brown, they were injured right against the Bucks.
I mean Lane turned Lane didn't play Brown.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
A lot of a lot of guys and they got
together and said, you know what we got Sae Kwon
Barkley here in the background, and we had this line
and and Jalen bought into it because all Jalen wants
to do is win, and you know what, what's wrong
with that?

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Here's here's another stat and he's last nineteen games. This
is the amazing stat takeaways thirty nine giveaways eight eight.
Think about that.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
That's an insane number. Yeah, I mean really, that's crazy.
And what do most people tell you the most important
statu is?

Speaker 2 (07:38):
That's it most it's not all that there was the
key turnovers that won on the first two games.

Speaker 5 (07:43):
And it's also the most like volatile stat that it
changes year to year. But when your defense is that
talented and you have guys like Cooper de Gen and
Quinion Mitchell and the defensive line that they have, especially
with Jalen Carter.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
Yes, they're gonna get the Super Bowl. Yeah, the two
turnovers change. I'm I'm not saying Eagles would have lost
if they were only completely changed it. It was over
the game at that point. It was yeah, no question. So, John,
what'd you think of last Sunday and how the Eagles
won the game.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
It kind of went how I thought in that both
teams were going to not make the big mistake. They
didn't want to because they knew they can just they
could rely on their defenses. Their defense are going to
win them this game. And it's just who is going
to balk first to make the first big mistake, and
really the first big mistake didn't happen till late in
the game that Travis Kelcey the drop that ends up
being an interception. That was the first big mistake, and

(08:29):
the game is over after that. So it was basically
just those two teams waiting. It's like in tennis when
both guys are blanked, you're just waiting for the unforced
are You're just making sure that happened in.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Last year's Rams game, the one in the season the
running back from the Rams changed whole game. Yeah, K Williams. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
But one thing I will say about the offense too,
is that this still looks like the same offense that
we've seen in terms of just how it's run and
the types it throws that you're seeing in concepts is
the same that we saw last year and the year
before and the year before that. I am tired of
every single offensive coordinator in the first year, in the
first couple of games going well, the offensive coordinator's got

(09:11):
to figure it out. At some point, people are going
to realize this is just the offense that the Eagles
want to run with Jalen Hurts, and the offensive coordinator
can add some wrinkles to it. Kelln Moore absolutely did.
Kevin Bittulo is not going to be able to do
that in two weeks. It is going to take some time.
It took Kellen Morrison time and they won a super
Bowl with it. But this is how they run an
offense with Jalen Hurts. You if you don't like it,

(09:33):
well then you just don't like how Jalen Hurts plays football.
They know exactly what they have done a really good job.
Jalen Hurts is smart throwing underneath. He's accurate with his
ball placement, and he can take the shots when it's there.
And I think the Week one was a great example
of it. They threw short all game. I don't think
they threw over ten yards through most of the game,
but when they had the opportunity to do it with

(09:53):
j a Han Dots and they took it, made the
play and it changed the game because at the end
of the first half they are fine throwing underneath and
taking chances.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Whin they this year.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
I heard the stat I'm going to assume it. They
have not thrown an intermediate pass all year. None, none,
And I think it's just me. I think a couple
of guys on offense are hurt. Dickerson is obviously not
one hundred percent, but he's going to play through it
because that's what he does. I don't think AJ Brown.
I think they're taking his hammy really because they don't

(10:25):
want to have him be out for six weeks or eight.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Weeks or whatever. And everything that you guys have said,
I mean, why would you change beat me? Somebody prove
you can beat me. Now, maybe this quarterback is the
quarterback that can do that. I don't know. The Rams
are pretty good, They're very good.

Speaker 5 (10:40):
You know, Rams have won a lot of games. They've
only had two losses, two losses in.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
The last eleven so, speaking of no touchdown passes by
the quarterback, does anybody remember the first play from scrimmage
last against Kansas City? AJ Brown was running wide open
for a bomb and Hurts got Hurts got pressured and
couldn't throw the ball. But I mean he was and

(11:06):
that was the design play clearly. Oh he was ten yards?
Well you knew after week one. Yeah, he was consulting
for sure from when I saw Jalen.

Speaker 5 (11:15):
Maybe could have kept his eyes downfield if he was comforting,
But that's that's when I say, like, there are some
flaws to his game, and you just live with it
because there are so many good things.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
Like a little things.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
You don't live with it because you almost won a
super Bowl. They won a super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (11:28):
He's played it, and he's played extremely well. So it's
just one of those things that, yeah, times they're not
going to get explosive plays because that's just what happens
with Jalen, but he is going to get it. And
he also is running the ball really well for them too,
and he's doing great underneath. He's been extremely accurate on
short passes, so I could take it.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
We're going to get the Week four in college football
in a second, and then obviously the NFL games as well.
Let's let's delve into the Eagles Rams tomorrow. Eagles minus
three and a half at bet Parks. Basically they're saying,
it's it's even right you get three for being at
home fields. To everybody's point, the Rams have not lost
to anybody for quite a long time except the Eagle.
They've covered their last six on the road, right and

(12:07):
Barkley just what they have four bomb touchdowns were over
sixty I think crazy, so I suspect the Rams have
spent a little time on that, Mike. How do you
see the matchup tomorrow? It's the early game, one o'clock one.
I think it's the best game on the slate this week.
Wider playing at one o'clock. I have no idea, but
they are, so we'll live with that. Look, the Rams

(12:30):
have looked. Look, we were all worried about the quarterbacks.
Back the quarterback. They're wide receivers, Puka stat Matthews Stafford. Yes,
might might be the best quarterback. He's really good in
the league.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
Again, I could see this if dixis at eighteen and nineteen.
I think that's the number, right, yep, So how can
I bet against the Eagles. But at the same point,
you gotta deal with the three and a half? You Okay,
I could see this game going either way. I might
lean towards the Rams getting the three and a half,
only because a lot of people seem like they're going
that way.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
The Eagles. Would the Eagles be favored next week in Tampa?
They're favored by three? Okay?

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Yeah, so you know at bet Parks it's up now.
If we were sitting here after next week and Eagles
are four to zero. Would I be shocked?

Speaker 2 (13:13):
No? Would I be a little surprised?

Speaker 3 (13:16):
Okay, because they're playing this opening stretch of four games
was not an easy stretch.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
Nope, no, not at all, John, What are you thinking
for Mark?

Speaker 5 (13:25):
And this is like the ultimate test of because some
of the numbers don't look great, and so when when
people do bring up twenty twenty two, I kind of
get it because the offensive efficiency numbers are like twenty three.
Excuse me, because the offensive efficiency numbers are like really low,
and like, all these things are happening, but they're still
winning and the Rams are All of those numbers for
the Rams look phenomenal. Their offensive offensive efficiency is great,

(13:49):
their defense is really good.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
They have a great defensive line.

Speaker 5 (13:51):
Jared Verse is one of the great great defensive players
right now in football. So everything does say RAMS, But
what if the Eagles win?

Speaker 2 (14:00):
You know, it's just like everything says RAMS except for
the eighteen of nineteen exactly.

Speaker 5 (14:03):
So I the betteran me is going RAMS just because
I'm seeing plus three and a half and so I'm
gonna take the extra the half a point and think
that the Rams can keep this close, maybe possibly win
it because they are playing better after the great but
at any point, Yeah, I think it could be a
phenomenal game because Matthew Stafford is by the way, absolutely
at this stage of his career. Watching him play football

(14:26):
is even much better than when he was chucking it
downfield to Calvin Johnson. He is his football IQ, his intelligence, anticipation,
ball placement, his arm strength going to maybe the best
receive or war the best receiver, but receivers that are
great route runners. So like the combination of timing anticipation
with it. It is so much fun to watch. And

(14:46):
it's gonna be really tough for the Eagles, especially a second.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
But if the Eagles win the turnover battle, let's whatever,
that's a huge plus for them.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
Yeah, because it allows them to play more conservatively.

Speaker 5 (14:57):
Yeah, and a game like this forces them they have
to be better offensively, So let's see if they will be.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (15:02):
I give them the benefit of the doubt that they
absolutely can because they've been able to before. But yeah,
this is a game they have to print.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
I think we Mike made this point earlier, and I
think we've been making it for a while. The Eagles
are one of the teams that plays nobody in the
exhibition games. So this is this is there really, this
is their spring training, that's what this is. And they're
just trying to survive it until they get comfortable and
get rhythm and all that stuff. It look, Hurts is
going to need to throw obviously, he's going to need
to get some touchdown passes because Rams are going to score.

(15:31):
I think you're going to probably need in the high
twenties to win this game. What's what's your un pressure?
It's not that high. I don't think forty five. I
think I just read I think a minute ago.

Speaker 4 (15:43):
Both defenses are good. They are, so it doesn't fair.
Rams defense is phenomenal.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
They're very good. Yeah. Yeah, let's see what the over
under is here. It just that sounds about right though.
Fuck mid forties. Anyway, Mike, you have a pick in
this contest. What do you got if?

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Again, you probably take the Rams getting the three and
a half only because I think but again, eighteen or nineteen,
I'm not.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Going Yeah, YOA could be a little bit like the
Dallas game.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
They didn't cover the Dallas game, but you never really
thought I mean, I know, cdee Lamb dropped a couple
of those passes, but you never thought vehicles were going
to do lose the game because if Dallas had scored,
I'm convinced that jailmen would have found a way to
come back down the field to either get a field
goal or whatever they wouldn't needed. So I'm just I'm
actually looking forward to watching this game. It's yeah, So

(16:32):
basically there's.

Speaker 4 (16:32):
One forty four and a half at that part.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
Really that must have changed from the somebody just the other.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
Yeah, I seemed forty four and a half.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
Right, So John, you are doing what taking the Rams
plus the three and a half?

Speaker 5 (16:45):
Yeah, I'm gonna take the Rams just because again, their
their efficiency looks great.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
They look like the better team at the moment. I
have no opinion spread goods. Yeah, that's it's I do.

Speaker 5 (16:56):
I actually really like the Rams in this game getting
the number just because plus three and I have with
a team that looks better at this point, and everything
kind of tells you they're better. It's just to me,
I hate to say it's easy, but it's just that
I have to go that side. Just it's very telling
of those numbers. But at any point the Eagles can
play well and look, Jalen Hurts in that Dallas game too.
Like the best I think I've seen him pass was
in that first half against Dallason. It was needed, it

(17:17):
was necessary. So I think in this game, if it's necessary,
I think it could play really well.

Speaker 4 (17:21):
But I can't wait.

Speaker 5 (17:23):
The Eagles offensive line I usually have no questions about,
and it's not that I am this game. They have
their hands fuld this game though, and Jared burse gave
them a lot of problems last year in the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
So yeah, so this is gonna be a great test.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
Ars was under duress and I can guarantee you the
Rams coaches are just screaming, no sixty yard runs that.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
Would be the big one. Well you know what happened.
They stacked the box. When you stacked the boxing.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
And once he gets past that, gone, you're that's it
because if you block it right and you only you
have like one defender of the beat, well he beats
them exactly. Yes, yes, yes, he does. All right, go
on to college with Paul. Week four. We'll start with
the noon games Fox Utah minus three and a half.

(18:08):
My best better of the week Texas Tech Michael.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
I can't wait to hear Texas Tech has played nobody
They've played three temples basically, Utah had.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
One temple is pretty good though. I'm three and oh
on Temple this year, Pal, so just don't knock that.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
I just the Utah at home is a different animal,
and I'm not scared by the I understand Texas Tech
can put points on the board and all that.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
I really like Utah on the spot, John.

Speaker 5 (18:37):
There seems to be a lot of love for Texas Tech,
and I get it because Morton right now has eleven
touchdowns and one pick, nine hundred and twenty three passing yards.
So like the Texas Tech air raid offenses that were
used to seeing like this looks like a really good
version of it.

Speaker 4 (18:52):
Nobody great.

Speaker 5 (18:53):
They played Kent State and Oregon State and they even
played oh my gosh, what is that University of Arkansas
Pine bl Is that is that the one?

Speaker 1 (19:01):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (19:02):
But yeah, not not great.

Speaker 5 (19:04):
Kyle Winningham is a really good team right now, and
I kind of like Dan Pierre a little bit more
than even Cam Rising just because of the the explosiveness
they they he gives them on offense.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
The years at their home. Yeah, Oh, different animal at.

Speaker 5 (19:18):
Home, and I I am gonna believe that a Kyle
winningham defense at home is able to stifle that passing
offense of Texas Tech. So there's a lot of love
for Texas Tech and the Red Raiders.

Speaker 4 (19:30):
I get it.

Speaker 5 (19:31):
I'm kind of I'm kind of believing in Kyle here
and the defense. So give me Utah. And look, it's
not just that their offense can match what Texas Tech
does now. So even if they were to give up
some points, this is a utes offense that can certainly
keep up there.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
But I'm not sure what that means means gone after right,
There wasn't there another coach? Last week? They got whack
a Doodle. Yeah, Virginia Tech, Virginia and coach like this,
he's hanging in.

Speaker 5 (20:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
So I've been waiting for this since I don't know
for two months when Texas Tech finally came on the
board for US. I suspect neither of you are aware
of this, but Texas Tech in the off season, they
have some of the richest boosters in sports, and they
went out because this might be the last year or
unlimited spending is allowed, and they unlimited well it can

(20:25):
be unlimited under the TABAH. I mean they unlimited spend
legally and they went out and got some serious players.
I'm taking Texas Tech. I know they've played nobody. I
get it. I don't know that Utah has either. Texas
Tech is great, major respects. I think the money's going
to pay off. I think Texas Tech is loaded to

(20:46):
the gills. I like with talent, and I'm getting three
and a half. And I'm in Salt Lake City. Uh
and the Mormon Tabernacle choir may be playing at halftime,
So there we go. I'm taking Texas Tech two to
one on that one. Also, it's good year the one. Yeah,
that's usually a good thing. Also at noon, Wisconsin home

(21:07):
after getting blasted by Alabama minus nine and a half.
Now is your quarterback back? No, I don't think he
played this year. I know that's just sounding quarterback back.
He's the former Maryland quarterback. They're playing Maryland at Camp Randall.
Once started at seven and a half. It's been bet
up to nine and a half. The Terps are unbeaten.

(21:28):
But like Mike said, they played absolutely nobody that played
Towson last week. I will take my alma mater getting
nine and a half.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
I have no opinion. I mean, if you're going to
tell me that the because I don't know anything about Maryland.
To be honest with you, I don't like laying nine
and a half h I'll tell you about Maryland. Their
quarterback is a true freshman. He's an interesting what's the most.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
Decorated high school quarterback in the history of the state
of Maryland. He won like every game he ever played,
played at Archbishop Spaulding. See the reason why the quarterback
is now wisconsinantly problem. Yeah, I think they realized he
was going to be the guy that we're just going
to handle the ball because look, Locksley's job is hanging
by a thread.

Speaker 4 (22:07):
Which it shouldn't because he is, like, he's recruited extremely.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
Well, they're just look they're in a tough league and
they were in a brutal division with Ohio State, Penn State,
and Michigan.

Speaker 5 (22:15):
Yeah, you just let him that's no longer relevant. You
just let him keep recruiting the way he has. Just
like when it all is a perfect storm, if you
have the right kind of upper roppers, like a classman leadership.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
You get I think they got a shot.

Speaker 3 (22:26):
Like you put him in with Penn State, State, Michigan
named four other I don't know what it's just almost impossible.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
It is like, that's why you need like that perfect
storm of upper classmen like and then maybe you could.
But the talent they they have gotten talent for what
Maryland usually is.

Speaker 4 (22:46):
It's good.

Speaker 5 (22:47):
And do you know what Malik Washington is listed as
by the way, is uh he is six five, two
thirty one.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Yeah, I mean as a freshman, I've watched a massive woman.
I've watched him, you know, and there's a lot of
good young quarterback QB is five.

Speaker 5 (23:01):
Yeah, yeah, he is a massive run, yes, but he's
been mostly spinning it with that he hasn't really run
too much his.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
His high I mean, look again, it's a it's a
Baltimore Catholic League, which is not the greatest football league
in the country, but ridiculous numbers and the fact that
Maryland's got him for at least three years, you know,
at least ross was it a surprise that they kept him,
I mean that he went there, like because I'm sure
he win other places, of course, but yeah, they kept

(23:29):
him in State and that that was why Locks was hired,
because he's such a great recruiter and obviously did a
great job of saving at Alabama he ran this rand
the offense down there, So I'm taking the terms. Uh, Wisconsin,
I think is just okay. They got blasted by Alabama,
but so does everybody else when they go to Tuscalosa. John,
your thoughts on this contest.

Speaker 5 (23:50):
Yeah, I mean it's a large spread, so I taking
the points is gonna be tough. For laying the points
will be tough, but I'm gonna do it. I just
Maryland on the road with the freshman quarterback yep. And yes,
Wisconsin isn't all that great, but it's still Wisconsin's Camp Randall.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
Right.

Speaker 5 (24:09):
It just seems like a not a great environment for
Maryland to be in and look for Locksley to keep
his job, and for Maryland, they are gonna have to
like sneak things.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
Like they somebody somebody not supposed to be. Yeah, I.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
Just don't know if it's going to happen this game,
So I'm going with Wisconsin.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
Other noon game ESPN, I Man Davos having an interesting
couple of weeks. Clemson minus seventeen at home against Syracuse
started at seventeen and a half. Clemson's one and two,
but it's not like that mad competitive. They obviously had
against good teams exactly. So they played a tough schedule.
They lose by less than a touchdown in each game

(24:47):
or approximately time.

Speaker 4 (24:48):
George Tax's very good.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
Georgia Tech is good and obviously as we'll fall, that's good. Dabo. Yeah,
look he's fire me. I'll leave. You know you don't
like me find all that.

Speaker 5 (24:59):
No, since Johnny got a thought on this, Dambo, I
will go Clemson. I will lay the seventeen and a half.
I think they win this game big. This has happened
a couple of years now in the past couple of
years where Clemson starts up a little slow. They schedule
really tough early. They've been in some tough games early,
and then once they start getting to a c C play.

(25:21):
They were in the ACC Championship game last year. Now
they lost, but they were in the They they lost
SMU because SMU went into They played Penn State A playoffs.

Speaker 4 (25:35):
Oh were they in the playoffs?

Speaker 2 (25:36):
Oh yeah, they were twelve. They were the twelve seed. Yeah,
that's right. So they did win that game. I don't
know who I think they did forgetting.

Speaker 4 (25:41):
Yeah they did.

Speaker 5 (25:43):
So once they get to a c C play, they
they are good and it's just really the tough starts
that have been played back.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
We can't even remember who won playoff games. I mean, yeah,
I know it feels so. I think that's how Clemson
got in the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
Absolutely, Yeah, this seamen between them and Alabama and think
or as SMU also got in.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
SMU and only I think SMU had only lost one
game until the ACC title game, right, So that's that's
why they got it.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
Yeah, it's it's just the offense has to figure it out.

Speaker 5 (26:10):
But again, once you get to a weaker opponent in Syracuse,
which Syracuse, I mean, they played Yukon and Colgate, but
they they haven't.

Speaker 2 (26:19):
They played Tennessee and the opener they scored, but who
was the other defense lost LSU at home? And who
was their other loss to Clemson. They just they just
lost Georgia Tech Georgia.

Speaker 3 (26:29):
So they've lost the two teams that are in that
I think in the top fifteen or twenty right now.
At I mean, I know the fans he's won, and
I get it people now the game has passed them by.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
He's not wrong, he's transfer. He went to four title games. Yes,
he beat Alabama twice. Yes in those title games. Okay,
So as far as I'm concerned, he doesn't have to
prove anything to me. Now, if Clemson doesn't want him anymore,
he'll get chewed up in about thirty seconds. It'll take
him to get a job where maybe the Alabama job.

(27:00):
Who knows, because he apparently was offered that and said,
I don't think it's Alabama grad.

Speaker 3 (27:05):
I believe yes, And I don't know who in this
game I would. I mean, the quarterback at some point
has to play a good game. I think I would
imagine it can't be it's too talented. But that's that's
the frustrating part. And that's where I do question Debo.
Everything's there.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
You and I both like him and Bama. Well you
like Bama more than I did. But Clemson was the
team I said, you know what if they can when
that game in l s U. Do you know right
now there's no Heisman Trophy favorite under seven to one.
I think.

Speaker 4 (27:38):
It's really Jemeteer and Carson from Texas.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
Neil nowhere. He's like three thousand and one. How does
that happen? As good as the hype, the great is
the most unpredictable sport ever. College that's why I love
love it, so we'll make it unanimous. I'll take Clemson Syracuse.
Just defense is bad doings. That's fran Brown. I just

(28:03):
done a good job. But he's another guy who can
recruit its big time. He just doesn't halfway.

Speaker 5 (28:08):
If Clemson's offense can't figure it out in this game,
there's there's got two big, big problems.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
Ten fifteen picks on the defensive line and they haven't
even been the.

Speaker 4 (28:18):
Quarter That's that's the problem.

Speaker 5 (28:19):
Is like, oh, well, Dabo can only do it with
a great quarterback like Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence.

Speaker 3 (28:24):
But like those no, they had great wide receivers, yes,
and he had great defensive lines.

Speaker 5 (28:30):
But also, Kate Klebnik is an upper class he's a
senior now. He has played a lot of football. He's
played great football times. He's an NFL prospect. Like NFL
teams are really interested in this guy. He could have
played his way for.

Speaker 2 (28:42):
For us, we would go it's it doesn't have to
make sense sometimes, and that's the thing.

Speaker 4 (28:47):
It just it doesn't make sense. But that's that's where I.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
Do question that how can you see all you'd be
just bad? But but they very ridiculously bad. Yeah, they're embarrassed.

Speaker 5 (28:58):
That's where I I do question. But now it's like, dude,
we've been waiting for this team and you have this team.
Why guys are not working this time?

Speaker 2 (29:05):
Yep?

Speaker 5 (29:05):
And it has worked for you in the past where
this kind of team has won a national championship with him?
What's going on now that you can't get a national
championship caliber team and they still are You can't get
me away from that.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
I think this team is loaded with.

Speaker 5 (29:17):
Talents kind of fact, and yes, and that's that's still
there on the table.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
He can still do that not lose again.

Speaker 5 (29:23):
It's just so if you can't do it with this team,
then maybe you are losing it a little bit. Maybe
there there should be questions about the way you're doing
things right now.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
But that'll go somewhere else and somebody else for sure. Yeah,
absolutely all good. Yeah, We'll get to the rest of
college football after a break. It's also bet Parks Pennsylvania
Derby Day. The racing starts at eleven. Oh, you're on
TV today and a jack in his suit you didn't
wear the time for us NA, why would you wear
much later? The blue one four thirty to seven, the

(29:55):
Navy Sports pulled up the Navy blue makeover jacket. I
don't have a Navy jet.

Speaker 5 (30:01):
What was it?

Speaker 2 (30:01):
What did they give you? Black? It was it darkow? Yeah, okay,
I've always said navy blue. It's close charcoal, charcoal something
like that. Anyway, Yeah, feet pink guy, you for I know.
I'll be the analyst Maggie Wolfingdale down from New York
Daddy Gibson who works with me on Let's Go Racing,
which you can watch it ten o'clock today, but you're

(30:22):
listening to us, so just put it on DVR and
check us out. But yeah, for f four thirty seven,
we'll be on butt, come on out to the track.
Check this out. Fifteen races today, four million dollars in
purses anchored at the end by the one baillion dollar.
Could say you in the one baya dollar Pennsylvania Derby.
So the bet Park's Petsylvania Derby joke. In the scope

(30:43):
of force racing, yes, like where does this day? It's
the biggest horse racing day in September in the country
every year. Okay, they've basically taken over this third weekend
in September and it's sounds pretty cool, right, Okay, yeah,
no question. So it's actually one of the biggest weekends left.
It's only two or three left until the Breeders Cup,

(31:04):
which is now we might see be the Breeders Cut Absolutely,
no question. Okay, yeah, for sure, John, Uh, I am
gonna I need to save my voice a little bit
because it's like I could save cracking. I'm gonna get
you to read this as we go to break here.

Speaker 5 (31:21):

a half, so getting a little bit low to really
good defenses. Saturday College Football Today Week four among the

(33:53):

Gambling problem one eight hundred Gambler. To set the table
for the rest of the show, we're gonna finish the
college football up. In this segment, we're gonna talk a
little Phillies who won again last night or were playing
phenomenal baseball as we had the final eight games of
the season, last two road games in Arizona, then their
home against the Marlins and the sad SEC Twins to

(34:17):
finish off the regular season before they start in the playoffs,
and just a question of whether they're gonna have home
field all the way through or home field just in
the initial round. They're certainly going to have a bye
to get started. So three o'clock games, Mike, I know
you're looking forward to this. Oregon giving thirty four and
a half to former semi rival Raget State.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
I would be leary here only because the rook ahead game.
Well Oregon, No, not that they're gonna look ahead, but
that's a lot. That's a big number Oregon State can score.
Sometimes Oregon might not care. But then again, because it's
Oregon State, they might care. You can't bet Oregon State,
so you either bet the Ducks or you just stay away.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
Ducks have a big game next week, yes, yeah, but
the Ducks might not care. I mean the Ducks put
up sixty nine and three quarters against it.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (35:07):
Dante Morris fit in really nicely with.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
I believe that big game next week might be about
two hundred miles west of here under the lights on
NBC against Penn State.

Speaker 4 (35:16):
I'm so juiced up for sure.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
Penn State's minus three. By the way, that's the right
lunch things. Chock your thoughts on the Ducks that are
giving five touchdowns.

Speaker 5 (35:27):
Yeah, there could be maybe a look ahead in this
and their offense stalls a little bit, but right now
they're a juggernaut.

Speaker 4 (35:34):
They're a machine on offense.

Speaker 5 (35:36):
Dante Morris fit in really nicely, so that year that
he sat definitely helped out a lot. And Oregon's still
absolutely loaded with town. Now, they didn't cover against Northwestern,
but Oregon State.

Speaker 2 (35:47):
Run with two minutes to go in the game.

Speaker 4 (35:50):
Please, but Oregon State is dreadful even more than Northwest.

Speaker 2 (35:55):
Big two.

Speaker 4 (35:56):
Big two, Yeah, I would. I don't love it. I'm
not gonna take it, but thirty three and a half
or thirty four to.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
Half, I yeah, I mean, I'll take cargon. The only
way they don't cover is Mike said if they just
stopped playing, which they did last of course, what they
did the game cover and look like that's Northwestern are
going to get one hundred. But they just stop playing
because they need to. Like in the Big two, Dick,
do you like Washington State or Oregon State? Take I'm
gonna take Washington State to win it this year by
the way, there aren't gonna be a lot of new

(36:23):
teams starting next year. And they they've actually got a
TV contract. They're actually doing pretty well. Uh at Boise State,
are they going into that league? Into the Pac twelve?
I think I know Gonzaga is going in to play basketball.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
I think there are a few Mountain West teams.

Speaker 2 (36:37):
Going and the u c LA should go back. Yeah,
you see, LA should just dropped football.

Speaker 4 (36:42):
It's gonna be ask to me.

Speaker 2 (36:43):
This is the this me now, this is the game
of the day. Uh, Michigan minus one and a half
at Nebraska. Great game, CBS three thirty game. Look Nebraska.
You can tell they're better and it's really good. Quarterbacks tremendous.
I think he's the first pick in the NFL draft
of two years. I love I love Dan Railwa. He
just can't watch enough of them. Michigan is a kind

(37:04):
of a work in progress. They have a really good
young quarterback as well, Matt rowle Be. Little by little,
they're getting there. They have the best facility in college football.
This is this put up er, shut up game. They
got to start winning some of these games. They're home,
they're getting a point and a half.

Speaker 3 (37:21):
Biggest game in Nebraska since winch Boy, I mean really
a long soulis many coaches, Yeah, many coaches.

Speaker 2 (37:29):
There's a lot of.

Speaker 3 (37:30):
People I've been reading it to think that Michigan quarterback
could be He's a really good guy that you he
could be the future of I don't know.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
I haven't seen it. I don't know much about it.
The little deer in the headlights against it at Oklahoma.
But that's what you're exactly right. They gotta win. They
gotta win this game.

Speaker 3 (37:45):
But it's Michigan and Michigan you know, is going to
go in there realizing I I mean, I know who
I'm rooting for.

Speaker 2 (37:53):
It's a good line. Yeah, it's great. Hasn't moved at all.
I don't have a great feel for it. I honestly, look,
I know the Michigan coach too. I mean the regular
Michigan coach. Is assistant is a brother of a really
good high school classmate of mine who I've known forever.
Beth Pogi is your assistant, who's now the head coach

(38:15):
until more of it's past. My man, one of the
funniest guys ever heard.

Speaker 4 (38:20):
Yeah, one of one of the biggest characters in college far.

Speaker 2 (38:23):
He's a trip man. When they asked him last week
about under what, he says, he's Batman's a great one, John,
Your thoughts on the Nebraska.

Speaker 5 (38:31):
Mission, Yeah, so I think with Bryce Underwood going to
Nebraska is still hard place to play, and Matt rules
defenses are really good, So I think it's gonna be
tough for Bryce Underwood. But I'm I'm looking at the
other side of the ball for Nebraska, Like Dylan Ryle
has been fine a touchdowns and the interceptions, which is
really good, but he tends to play it safe a lot,
like he just isn't. This is a big time recruit,

(38:53):
and this is like one of the big recruits that
Matt Rule has gotten that was supposed to change the program.
And look, it's fine. He had the start as a freshman.
Like it takes time and I get it at some
point though, you're gonna have to be that guy. And
in a game like this, Dylan makes some plays, makes
a really big plays for them. You know you're going
up against a great defense, but you're at home. You're

(39:14):
the veteran quarterback technically in this game. Compared to Bryce
Underwood only having like two or three games under his
belt win the game. You know you're not gonna have
to put up that many points. Your defense can help
you out here, but win the game, make some big plays.
And if they're able to do that, which I think
they can. I like Nebraska here, but I just think
more of Matt rule is going to make things very
very hard for Bryce Underwear.

Speaker 2 (39:34):
Yeah. For me, when I watched Nebraska and this quarterback,
I think he's got a chance to be like a
really good NFL player, Like he just looks like an
NFL quarterback. Now, this spot is not an easy one.
But if you're there, you're there for these kind of
games they got. They just got to win this game, Mike,

(39:56):
because if they don't, all of a sudden, the all right,
just can't beat anybody any good. And Nebraska hasn't beaten
anybody good because it's Michigan a long time.

Speaker 3 (40:07):
If they were to lose this game, and I'll take
Michigan just for the hell of it because it's Michigan. Yep,
if they were to lose, I don't think it would
be the and like, like, let's say you lose twenty
one to seventeen.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
Okay, Now, if.

Speaker 3 (40:18):
Michigan goes in there and beats them pretty good, which
I don't think is going. But again, and if Matt
wins the game, yes, it's it's it's a wonderful step,
you know, but it's not.

Speaker 2 (40:28):
You know, it's game. It's week four. You know, it's
a deal. But you're right. I mean, I think all
the pressure is on the Braskt, no question.

Speaker 3 (40:35):
And if they can feed off that and the crowd
gets into it and they get up on them early, yep, yeah,
it could be.

Speaker 2 (40:42):
You know, we've seen what Mac can do. I mean, so, Mike,
you're taking Michigan, Johns that Michigan you gotta pick.

Speaker 4 (40:46):
I'm going to Braska.

Speaker 2 (40:47):
Yeah, me too. I'll be wrong. That's fine. Yea three thirty.
You see minus six and a half minus seven now
against North Carolina on Fox, Bill Bell, check your thoughts
on the tar heels are hot, not just Bill Belt.
Scott Frost against who does his girlfriend like? That's what

(41:09):
I went Scott Frost.

Speaker 3 (41:10):
Apparently him and Belichick have a relationship because Scott coached
with him at some point.

Speaker 2 (41:15):
Okay, I don't know much about I'm yeah, I'm not
playing this game. You're not playing Johnny? Yeah, go ahead,
john you you know more about these teams.

Speaker 5 (41:26):
Maybe Scott Frost's offense now, it hasn't looked good in
a while. And UCF only put up seventeen against Jacksonville State.
They can put up sixty eight against North Carolina A
and T. But the Tar Heels offense stinks. They've been
really bad. They only put up twenty points against Charlotte,
fourteen against the game.

Speaker 4 (41:45):
Yeah, the underlokyonder.

Speaker 5 (41:46):
I would just say maybe at this point Scott frost
offense may be a little bit more advanced just because
he has been at UCF. It has been really good
in college football, and North Carolina just has a while ago.

Speaker 2 (41:59):
It was a while. I forget that. That's about seventy.

Speaker 4 (42:01):
Years a long time ago, it really was.

Speaker 5 (42:03):
But just the fact that he has had success sure
college with offenses, that maybe it is.

Speaker 4 (42:10):
I'm gonna go.

Speaker 2 (42:10):
You see that they gave themselves the national championships, right,
Joe should have.

Speaker 3 (42:14):
Done that like three times, because you could have done
Kenzie Milton's Yeah, I don't remember the Yeah, that's right.
H had a great year.

Speaker 2 (42:21):
I'm just picking against North Carolina.

Speaker 4 (42:24):
Honestly, That's kind of what I was doing.

Speaker 2 (42:25):
Colts and North Carolina's here you go, all right, CW
Network huge today, four thirty Grant Field. They're feeling very
good about themselves and network love it. Minus twenty three
and a half against your als. Mike, you're three and
the first two weren't hard. What do you got?

Speaker 4 (42:44):
This one's hard.

Speaker 3 (42:45):
I couldn't play Temple. And look, Georgia Tech's coming off
a really really nice win. I said, they're good. I mean,
and we had him last week, right, John, I mean
I think we we liked the text. I went to
the other one.

Speaker 4 (42:57):
Yeah, it's I couldn't and also we like to that.
That so bad Georgia.

Speaker 2 (43:02):
That's going to be you know, Temple's coming to town?
What the hell?

Speaker 3 (43:06):
And again, how is Temple going to come off their offense?
Didn't do there anything because and that's not the Casey's fault,
that's just you play Howard, you play, you master.

Speaker 2 (43:16):
That would be the last. That would be the last
Oklahoma home game. I think I got to go back
there one more time.

Speaker 3 (43:23):
I would take the text only because I don't think
Temple can score much. You know, maybe they get seven,
maybe they get that, and you know, I just can't
see them texts gonna wear them down.

Speaker 2 (43:32):
I'm guessing that Mike is the ALS guru. I'm just
going with Mike g good.

Speaker 5 (43:39):
So Temple can get bullied in this game. I probably
will get bullied in this game by Georgia Tech. They're
so yeah, they do, and they're just they're great up
front there. They're one of the best running teams in
college football, and it made them very good last year
and this year already beating Clemson the way they did.
But that there's a price to pay with that because
your quarterback is a runner, and your quarterback takes a

(43:59):
lot of punishment.

Speaker 4 (44:00):
So I'm just I'm concerned a little bit.

Speaker 2 (44:03):
But maybe not Haynes game, but maybe that he took
up beating last week, that maybe it does get a
little bit tough, that maybe Georgia, maybe Haines King, it
does start to feel that, But I didn't.

Speaker 4 (44:16):
I'm staying far away from this game.

Speaker 5 (44:18):
I do not want to do it because this is Look,
it's it's after a really physical game against Clemson, and
again it's just the quarterback is taking the run of
it because he's a runner and he's a physical runner,
so that takes a toll.

Speaker 4 (44:29):
But if I were to go any direction here.

Speaker 5 (44:32):
It's still if Georgia Tech is still physically feels good.

Speaker 4 (44:36):
They are going to out Temple. They are going to
out I.

Speaker 2 (44:40):
Don't think there was a field you know, Howard was here.
And also the week after they got beat up by Oklahoma.
It's just a bad spot.

Speaker 5 (44:47):
They are going to get out gained on the ground
by a wide, wide, wide margin.

Speaker 2 (44:51):
Good spots for Okay.

Speaker 5 (44:57):
Where I start to really get excited for Temple football.
But maybe where they have a chance more than I
didn't think is once they start getting a conference. Absolutely
they could definitely beat some of these teams in the
American So I'm I'm really interested on we could win
four or five games this year absolutely in the conference
for sure, and like even a toss up game. I
think ECU is maybe an above average team. They could
definitely beat a team like ECU.

Speaker 2 (45:18):
You know.

Speaker 3 (45:18):
So they want to come out of this game no injuries, health,
don't get people banged up.

Speaker 2 (45:24):
Very interesting game in Columbia Missouri, UH tonight seven o'clock
at ESPN. Missouri started at minus twelve and I have
against South Carolina it's stand at ten. There was some
question when Lenara Sellers is going to play or not.
He's going to play. The problem with South Carolina up
though now has been their line play has been terrible.
They just lost too many linemen from last Year's a
really good team. And Missouri with Bo Pabolo, the former

(45:47):
Penn State backup, has been awesome. They're good. They're really good. Uh,
John will start with you Missou at the moment at
bet Park's giving ten.

Speaker 4 (45:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (45:56):
South Carolina has a lot of top end talent. So
Dylan Stewart is going to be a great edge rusher
that's going to be a first round talent. They have
a wide receiver Nick Carver that's going to be a
first round talent or could be close.

Speaker 4 (46:08):
He's really good. Eleanora Sellers is in the running to
be like the number one overall pick.

Speaker 5 (46:13):
So they have like these really great freak athletes that
when they pop, it's like, Man, I get why South
Carolina people really like them. But as you just said,
Vick Girardi, there's some holes there and one of them
is the offensive line. So I just questioned on a
week to week basis, if they're going to be able
to consistently you know, just you know, their top end

(46:34):
talent win them football games, and.

Speaker 4 (46:36):
It's gonna be really tough.

Speaker 5 (46:38):
That was That was a beating, a beating they took
by Vandy, and Vandy's good, Like there's a lot of
good teams in that let, but thirty one to seven
is a really tough one.

Speaker 4 (46:48):
That's a tough pill to swallow because that you should
not lose.

Speaker 2 (46:52):
It was seven a quarterback. I hurt just right, but still.

Speaker 5 (46:56):
Started giving up a lot of points and need to
be better than that. And I like Missouri's offense. Bribulla
can run, he's good and he had he has thrown
very well. That's one thing that's really surprised me. But
I just in a game like this, this is where
I love having a great athlete a quarterback, and bo
is a really good athlete.

Speaker 2 (47:14):
Yeah, I'm taking Missouria. I think something seems wrong with
South Carolina because I really liked them at the beginning
of the year. But he had a line.

Speaker 5 (47:20):
Yeah, they're basically they are relying on the North Sellers
to be superman on offense, and.

Speaker 2 (47:25):
He has not been.

Speaker 3 (47:27):
You guys, although I think ten could be a lot
if the quarterback when South Carolina has a good game.

Speaker 2 (47:32):
Yeah, No, he's certainly talented. There's no argument about that. Uh.
At the Battle of Florida again, Uh, Miami, which is
playing lights out minus seven and a half at home.
This is the ABC seven thirty game against Florida where
Florida played grat at LSU last week and the quarterback
just lost. In the game, he threw five picks. He
was awful. I mean, he just couldn't have been any worse.

(47:52):
I can't believe he's really that bad Lagway. I mean
he's not. It was just like I don't know what
he was doing or seeing. He wasn't seeing much of anything.

Speaker 4 (47:58):
We got to him big time.

Speaker 2 (48:00):
That was weird. Mike, your thoughts on Matt Gators. My
friend who is a Gator the Canes, he's a Gator.
I said to him, can you win? He said no,
So that means I'm taking Florida to get seven and
a half. No. I mean he's not always right. He's
not always right. But again, you to me, and I
say this a lot.

Speaker 3 (48:17):
I can't bet the Florida side the game seven and
a half in a rivalry, Well, this hasn't been a rivalry,
but I mean they play enough. Miami I think is
really good. So if I'm leaning anywhere in this game,
I'm taking Canes. Picking the Canes, I'm gonna go with
the Canes too.

Speaker 2 (48:33):
And I wanted to take Florida, but at the quarterback
was just so and the coach, yeah, I mean he
could get fired by Halftimes got his own issues. I
was just astonished at some of the balls that lag
way through last week. I got a triple coverage over
and over again. It's like, my man, what that was
a winnable game for sure, no question, because LSU's offense
stakes defense is really good. John, your thoughts on this one.

Speaker 5 (48:56):
Miami is by far the better team. They have a
guy right now quarterback who is second in the Heisman
Heisman odds.

Speaker 2 (49:04):
Former Georgia quarter everybody's a former something.

Speaker 5 (49:07):
Cool, and they're loaded in the skill position players. Their defense,
Maria Chris Ball has always had good defenses. They've looked great.
They stifled USF which that was bound to happen in uh.
The Notre Dame game, I think is a really good
example of all the talent that they have.

Speaker 3 (49:19):
Not Dame's got two losses to them and they but
think about this, Miami last year.

Speaker 2 (49:23):
Should have been in the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (49:24):
Yeah, and they blew really great.

Speaker 2 (49:25):
I think they came back.

Speaker 3 (49:26):
I remember listening to a Mario conversation before the year,
and you could tell he was like there was a
little bit of an edge on him. Yeah, we should
have been in there last year. I'm not saying they're
gonna make it, but I think they're good enough to that.
I think them and Georgia Decord are two best teams
in the ACC.

Speaker 1 (49:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (49:42):
Absolutely, they look phenomenal. So I Miami right now is
kind of pulled away. With that being said, I'm going Florida.
I can't explain the Billy napierself. DJ Lagway is not
going to throw five picks in this game, and if
he doesn't seven and a half, it's going to be close.

Speaker 4 (49:55):
They were close against LSU legitimately. Yeah, it's a lot
of talent.

Speaker 5 (49:59):
I this is one of those games where you look
back and go, I can't explain what happened, but DJ
Lagway is not going to throw five picks and DJ
Lagway is probably going to make.

Speaker 2 (50:07):
Losing by three or four exactly, all right, here's something
that never would have happened before. This is actually hard
to believe. NBC Prime Time tonight in Bloomington, Indiana.

Speaker 4 (50:17):
It's a fun game.

Speaker 2 (50:19):
Indiana minus seven. Now they started at four and a
half against Illinois. Do you want to stat both? The
analysie both teams undefeated. What the coach of Indiana has
done is astopshing Kurtzik Natty, I mean, and he ticks
everybody off. The coach is great, which is great. I
find it fascinating if this got bat up two and
a half points. I thought I thought four and a

(50:39):
half was the right number, but pubably didn't think. So
what do you got? My first seat?

Speaker 3 (50:42):
And Illinois coach, as we all know, has done a
great job at Wisconsin, went to Arkansas and didn't do it.

Speaker 2 (50:48):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (50:48):
First time both these teams are ranked when they're playing
each other.

Speaker 2 (50:53):
Take a guest, ever, No, it's not ever, fifty years
sixty the first time they've been ranked.

Speaker 3 (51:02):
And I'm taking Illinois because I think Indiana could obviously
win the game.

Speaker 2 (51:06):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (51:07):
I just think that line's a little too high. Illinois
is gonna try to beat him down. They're gonna try
to run, and then the.

Speaker 2 (51:12):
Indiana's gonna do all their I'm taking the points. Yeah,
I think seven is a big number. I'll bet I'm
with myke. I want to see Indiana win because I
just love the whole story. Yeah, but yeah, I'm gonna
take the seven. I think this spread got way too Hi, John.

Speaker 5 (51:28):
It is getting high, but it's getting high for a reason.
And Kurt Signetti retricks like that is a that is
a phenomenal offense and it has been proven at any
stop wherever he's been, it's been proven.

Speaker 1 (51:41):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (51:41):
And on the other side of that, I do question
if Illinois with Luke Almeyer, who's who's decent and he's
done a good job there. I just knew they're gonna
have to put up points because Indiana is going to
I don't think unless they control the ball, they thee.
But it's it's one thing to try and control the ball,
but when Indiana starts to kind of force you a

(52:02):
little bit to get out of that's where.

Speaker 3 (52:04):
I we'll say for you, John, he's going to want
to try to run it off for so if he
gets up, he will not. This is why I'm not
I think the line could be swaying me the wrong way.
But this guy wants to win because he's on national TV.

Speaker 2 (52:20):
They got embarrassed in their last game last year and
everybody kind of said, see, they weren't really that good.

Speaker 4 (52:24):
Oh he wants to he wants to prove. Yeah, there
is that there.

Speaker 5 (52:27):
He has a really good quarterback this year too. And
for Nanda Mendoza, a cal transfer, a lot of talent.
Some NFL talk with him too, so I know there's
a lot of interest there. Omar Cooper Junior has been
lights out for them already almost three hundred yards of
the season and four touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (52:40):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (52:41):
Yeah, I think Indiana's offense is really going to force
Illinois to play a game they don't want to.

Speaker 2 (52:46):
One other one. What do you got?

Speaker 3 (52:49):
No, the Oklahoma Auburn game, which I think is a
fairly they're giving it. They're giving a touchdown at home
and Norman, Yes, John, you know more about like all
the night when I first looked at this, I like Oklahoma.
I love the quarterback. I think they're pretty good. Is
Auburn good enough to cover a seven out there?

Speaker 1 (53:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (53:07):
Okay, I think so. That's why I asked you.

Speaker 5 (53:09):
I so, my the biggest question with Auburn coming into
this season was actually quarterback.

Speaker 4 (53:14):
Everything else is there?

Speaker 5 (53:15):
Like they they actually the skill position players have gotten
better freeze.

Speaker 4 (53:19):
Yeah first, okay, so I hate to say that.

Speaker 5 (53:21):
Yeah, well they they have talent there, and it really
all came down to was the Jackson Arnold problem an
Oklahoma problem or was it a Hymn problem? And right now,
through a few games, and really the only one that
they played that was decent was Baylor. But through a
few games, it seems like it was more of an
Oklahoma problem than it was Jackson Arnold. And I think

(53:43):
he's gonna play really well in this game. I'm gonna
take Auburn. I think they can win this outright. Buttier
has played really well, but he's also he's a gun slinger.
He can turn the ball over, and so I think
it's gonna be one of those games where yeah, Matier
could play well, but there's gonna be a mistake or two.

Speaker 4 (53:57):
And Auburn's gonna from the Temple game.

Speaker 5 (54:00):
I mean, they played a really physical Temple football team
and a tough Lincoln Financial Field environment. So I'm gonna
be tough for them the next week after No, But
it's just I think Auburn. Auburn's close to them. I mean,
I don't know enough about all I'm.

Speaker 2 (54:15):
Believing in what I've seen from Jackson Arden the question,
is there any team in the SEC that's not good?
I mean, I'm being serious here, like we joke about it.

Speaker 5 (54:25):
Mississippi State, I mean auburny has been near the bottom
of the SEC. Who Missouri who has lost a lot
of good for a few but they lost like Brady
Killer used.

Speaker 2 (54:37):
To be the team.

Speaker 3 (54:38):
Give me a crap team in the I'm serious, Florida,
they might be the crap team.

Speaker 2 (54:43):
It's a sad commentary spray or not happy? No, he's
not at all.

Speaker 5 (54:48):
Yeah. Is this because the SEC I think does get
carried sometimes by they have really top in talent, top
end teams.

Speaker 4 (54:54):
This is the deepest they've been. It feels like it.

Speaker 2 (54:57):
It's crazy.

Speaker 5 (54:57):
I mean, it's just again Vanderbilt top of atom. It's
just the conferences.

Speaker 2 (55:02):
Look about those commodorees. All right, we're gonna we're gonna
take a break John South Carolina, Like near the box
they might see John, You're gonna do the read, uh,

slate this week it's an okay slate. Yeah, and we'll
talk about my survivor pool wherever you're doing. Yeah, everybody's
doing fun. Survive, everybody surviving. I think I think we've He's.

Speaker 4 (55:36):
Not gonna survive by the way, Mike Gundy, see you, brother.

Speaker 2 (55:43):
If Dallas had lost that game, yeah, they would have.
That would have not a people and the tie would
have also lost them. And Seattle was the popular pick
this week. I'm guessing more of the less people took
Buffalo Thursday night. Oh okay, I'm sure a lot of
people took Oh yeah, you're right, John. Get us the breaker.

at Parks today. What time would that go off? Eleven
oh five, so you have a couple of minutes after
the show ends to get in about number five second

(59:04):
start of his career. Are you ready for the name
John my Lotta named after the Eagles left tackle Jordan Mylotta.
His first race, he went berserk on the way over.
He was running around the paddock like a nut. He
ended up finishing third. Then you have to figure out
why that happened. This horse is not only gonna win,
he's gonna crush the field. That's he gonna What's he

(59:25):
going to go off that? Not as much as people
think because I'm gonna start gambling here. Sure, uh well
could he would he going off that? But anyway, that's
my bet. That's my bet of the day. Plus Barnes
for Bob Baffert at the Gallant Bob Stakes, which is
the first racial seal on television. If you watch US
on NBC Sports piled Uphia four thirty to seven. It's

(59:46):
a three point two million dollar year ling that Baffert
is bringing in for a race that he almost can't
lose unless the jockey faults.

Speaker 1 (59:52):
Here.

Speaker 2 (59:53):
Yeah, he'll be three to five, two year old. Three
year old. It was Crawford's Derby horse and then he
just oh, he got crushed by journalism twice. So that
was the end of his Derby dreams, right, crush, General Rush?
Can I make it before we get start? Can I
make a commentary?

Speaker 3 (01:00:07):
It's not a rant, It's just a commentary if you're
a Philadelphia fan, Yes, sir, because we like to bitch
and moan a lot that, you know what, what's not
going right? And I always had that what was a
four for fourteen statter?

Speaker 2 (01:00:19):
I forget it wasn't good.

Speaker 3 (01:00:20):
You are living right now in a time that probably
I tried to go back nineteen eighty we had four
teams get to the finals one one whatever Diegles are
the ragning super Bowl champs. Who was dick pointed out
of one eighteen of nineteen. That could have been nineteen
of nineteen.

Speaker 2 (01:00:35):
But whatever.

Speaker 3 (01:00:36):
And they're two and zero and they've beating two good teams,
and they're gonna be one of the teams that can
win the championship. I don't know if they're going to
who the hell knows, but they're one of the teams
that could. And as far as I'm concerned, until somebody
beats them, they're the team to be. Buffalo looks great,
The Ravens are wonderful, the Chargers are whatever. The Phillies,
who have looked like the last month and a half

(01:00:59):
have been the best team in baseball. I mean, record wise,
they are without Whee or playing without Turner, playing without
the third base vent Came, They've been.

Speaker 2 (01:01:10):
Yeah, I know, but he's been out. They've been. How
bad the Phillies right now are either the betting favorite
or the second betty.

Speaker 3 (01:01:18):
There's no team that I look at. They can lose
to Milwaukee. Sure, they can lose it to Dodgers, I guess,
But while can't we just be happy and embrace this
and say, hey, you know, they might not win. History
suggests that we want. The Phillies I think have a
really good chance and I'm always the last.

Speaker 2 (01:01:36):
Guy to say that.

Speaker 3 (01:01:37):
I am always like, hey, whatever, I said that when
they were up three to two in the Diamondbacks and
kind of look what it got me.

Speaker 2 (01:01:45):
Just embrace this. Phillies are now the co favorites at
Bett Parks. Work with the Dodgers to win the championship. Yes,
they're better than the Dog. Now, that doesn't mean the
Dodgers might not be better in a month.

Speaker 5 (01:01:55):
If they play in a month, Yeah, that's that's the
only thing is to do the Dodgers like because on
paper they're the best the National League are.

Speaker 2 (01:02:02):
Yeah, this team they had that in look to him
kind of.

Speaker 5 (01:02:07):
But again I'm just saying it's It's the most baseball thing, though,
that Zach Wheeler goes down one of the best pitchers
in baseball totally and everybody goes, well, how are they
gonna how are they gonna win without him? And yet
they're gonna find way. Trey Turner was leading the league
I think and hitting at the time. Yeah, I don't
know what he's gonna be in October.

Speaker 2 (01:02:24):
But whatever they're doing, and you know who they're beating,
the beating good games. It's not like the beating Treck.
So I'm just here's a stat for you. The Phillies
have won thirty three series this year. That's the most
Infortant they lost three or four, the most series won
in franchise history. And he's still got They win the

(01:02:45):
day against Arizona. That's thirty. And what does the manager say.
He always says that if we win enough series, it'll
take care of itself. To Mike's point, about the best
team in baseball thirty two and fifteen since the trade deadline.
And I mean, seriously, Bater.

Speaker 4 (01:03:00):
Thank you, Harrison Bater, d.

Speaker 2 (01:03:02):
Duran, major credit to the front office. Phenomenal.

Speaker 3 (01:03:07):
And finally the manager started playing batter at full time
and not playing Castellanos all the time.

Speaker 2 (01:03:15):
And I know he's ticked, Fine, he ticked. I don't care.

Speaker 5 (01:03:18):
I just Rob Thompson is amazing, Like it's a it's
the thing with He's got the s Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 3 (01:03:23):
Until they win the whole thing, if they but and
now by putting the center fielder in left field, he's
actually playing well. Some of the other guys Kepler's play,
I mean, somebody's got and you got rid of Rojas,
which was the worst experiment ever for a year and
a half or whatever. They're a good baseball team.

Speaker 2 (01:03:40):
And look, I think the decision on Castellanos has made
for two reasons. One, he's been hitting horrible for months
and he's the worst right field in baseball. But other
than that, other than that, I mean, he makes us
some circus catches because he's always had a position and
he just doesn't can't track the ball. So and look
at Castellana is gonna be angry all he wants, but
the reality is he's not one of those three past

(01:04:02):
out pillers r he is.

Speaker 5 (01:04:04):
That is such a hard decision to make when coming
into this season, and really for the past three four years,
Castianus has.

Speaker 2 (01:04:10):
Been your prominent player. He's one of your core players.

Speaker 5 (01:04:14):
And for Thompson to make that decision and to go,
you know what, let's figure out a rotation with all
these guys because I can make it worse good.

Speaker 4 (01:04:22):
That is unbelievable, as good as.

Speaker 3 (01:04:23):
Getting the closer was, because if they didn't have the closer,
I don't think they'd have a chance.

Speaker 2 (01:04:27):
I really don't. But that's me Getty Bader, which I
thought was like, okay, I could I know, my friend,
the Gator fans good friends with his father, so we
I said, hey, look, Harrison's good, but he's not whatever.
He's made all the difference because he allowed them to
do other things with their lineup. He allowed them to

(01:04:48):
knock Castellanos the oaud of play.

Speaker 3 (01:04:50):
And again when they get to the October, if they
don't hit, they probably ain't gonna win.

Speaker 2 (01:04:55):
We've seen that three times. But they're playing. They're playing great.
There's eight games to go, they've won sixteen of twenty one.
They're at ninety two and sixty two or thirty. Man
going to get the fifty eight homers? Is he going
to get there? What's he fifty five? Now it sounds right?
Did he have one last night? I kind of lost track.
I mean the Brewers, the year he's had. The Brewers
are amazing. They're ninety four and sixty. Both teams have

(01:05:17):
eight games left, and for the people that don't know,
the Phillies need to actually finish one game ahead of
the Brewers because if it's a dead heat, they lose
the tiebreaker, which may good. We're asking you right now,
are the Brewers in the Phillies going to meet in
the nl CS? I have a good question. No, So somebody.
That's what I'm somebody's getting knocked out one of those two,

(01:05:38):
one or both.

Speaker 3 (01:05:39):
I think Brewers to whom how is the I haven't seen,
but we in Philly out say the other team. You
never say, oh the Phillies could lose.

Speaker 5 (01:05:49):
Look, I'll say this. I called the Mets beating them
in a series. I was like, the Mets are going
to beat it.

Speaker 4 (01:05:53):
I like them, so I feel like I'm getting a
good read on things.

Speaker 2 (01:05:58):
I like them against the Diamondback.

Speaker 5 (01:05:59):
So I think I think the Phillies are built for
the playoffs. The way that they're playing. I do not
disagree with you. Yeah, I love all and the bullpen
is going to be relied on. But but Tanner Banks
has look good. You know what nobody can lose Now.

Speaker 3 (01:06:14):
I know the Mets have played like crap and and get,
but like if they played the Cubs, let's say, I
think that's what they would get right now, they would
play the Cubs.

Speaker 2 (01:06:21):
Maybe they could lose into Cubs. Well, you don't know,
they're gonna great lines, they have a buy no no.
But I'm saying, like in the second round, if I
tried to project who they would be playing, that team
is gonna have to win a series. I mean, the
Mets to me, think, are they still going to make
the playoffs?

Speaker 5 (01:06:35):
Tern?

Speaker 2 (01:06:35):
So here's where the Mets are at the moment. They're
the last of the three wildcard teams. They're too clear
of since that okay, that last spot is at the moment,
and obviously the Dodgers and the Padres or Dodgers have
not got fairly clear of the Padres. Padres are going
to make the playoffs. Dodgers are going to be three,
Pods are going to be four.

Speaker 4 (01:06:55):
Yeah, Pods are Yeah, Cubs and Pods are gonna.

Speaker 2 (01:06:58):
Cubs and Pods have similar records. Dude. Yeah, So there's
a chance. So Phillies could play the Dodgers in the
in the oh.

Speaker 5 (01:07:05):
Yes, So right now, looking at the playoff picture with
with the Browers that one Phillies at two, at three,
the Dodgers for the Cubs, five San Diego and six
the Mets in the wildcard round, it would be the
Dodgers seeking on the Mets and the Cubs sticking on
the Padres. And so that the Dodgers and the Mets
winner would the Dodgers. Me's not beating anybody.

Speaker 2 (01:07:23):
Here's a question that I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:07:24):
The Phillies can beat the Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (01:07:26):
Who has Hope Field of the World Series? What league?
Do we know the answer?

Speaker 3 (01:07:29):
I think it's best record now, Okay, I don't think
they do it that so the Tigers, it would it
would be, but the Tigers might not be in the
World Series.

Speaker 4 (01:07:36):
Yeah, and right now we would definitely be a National
League team.

Speaker 2 (01:07:38):
Is anybody aware that the Tigers lead the excuse me,
Guardians by two and a half games and that, oh,
Cleveland's won like thirteen or fourteen Cleveland in the American League,
Seattle is a game an in Houston in the West. Uh,
the Yankees are too clear for the wild Card. Boston
and Houston are tied, and this is Cleveland's game and

(01:08:00):
a half out of the wilder and two and a
half out of them. And nobody can name a player
on Cleveland. They traded the whole team away, Yes they did.
It's crazy. I'll tell you.

Speaker 3 (01:08:08):
The team it's interesting to me is the Yankees, because
nobody really when Judge went out, maybe and I think
any team with iron Judge and I know the Yankees
were in the World Series last I mean, it's not
like they.

Speaker 2 (01:08:19):
Haven't been whatever. But I think the Phillies right now
and the Betty Nods would, I think they have as
good a chance as anybody to win this thing. But
yet we hear Philadelphia because we've the last three years
have been tough. That's what we did, That's what we
that's what we do. That's what we do.

Speaker 5 (01:08:34):
But yeah, I think with the Brewers, Padres and Cubs
are brutal matchup, especially with Padres because their bullpen. Definitely,
the Cubs scare me because of their lineup. That is
a lethal top to bottom line.

Speaker 2 (01:08:47):
It's the second round five games, yes, second rounds five
five only only the Championship Series seven in the World Series. Okay,
uh final thing on baseball. They haven't announced it, but
it sounds like the Phillies rotation is going to be.
Sanchez is definitely starting the first game, right. It sounds
like Sanchez, Suarez, Lozardo is everything. I those are the

(01:09:10):
right guys. You can't throw Nolanye. He just Nola pitches tonight,
but you just can't trust it. But he would pitch
the fourth game of any series that they're in.

Speaker 5 (01:09:18):
Yeah, it would. It just be a combo of Walker
and Nola. I guess in Game four, because Nola can't
go long. Yeah, I mean it's he's been bad, he's
been off.

Speaker 2 (01:09:25):
I think it's the other Walker. I think it's Walker Bueller.

Speaker 5 (01:09:27):
He pitched greatly, Yeah, he has been. He's been pitching,
I mean better than what Nolan and even Walker.

Speaker 2 (01:09:34):
Nola pitches badly tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:09:36):
Let's just say, for sake argument, they might seriously have
to consider like he's a Walker Buell.

Speaker 4 (01:09:42):
Or you know, because you know they have to consider
it now.

Speaker 3 (01:09:44):
It's it's been like, let's just say, for the sake
of argument, the Phillies are down two to one, but
you didn't have best of five, you're gonna throw Nola
out there.

Speaker 2 (01:09:52):
In the game where your season could end. I don't
think so good. And I love Nola well, I mean, look,
he's been here for ten years.

Speaker 4 (01:09:59):
He's whatever is It's just he he looks he looks fair.

Speaker 2 (01:10:03):
I'm telling you.

Speaker 3 (01:10:03):
If they had now you can say it's about a
lot of teams. But if the Phillies had Wheeler, oh
my god, yeah, I.

Speaker 5 (01:10:10):
Mean, it would make they they would be the only
team in the National League. I think that truly would
be a dominant team that likes is a winning game
one with we were probably about eighty ninety percent.

Speaker 4 (01:10:20):
I'm just going to put it with Sanchez.

Speaker 2 (01:10:22):
They would have won last year.

Speaker 3 (01:10:23):
If if they bullpen didn't screw up that game that
where he was leading one nothing.

Speaker 5 (01:10:28):
Yeah, in the National League, there is not a team
I would say, Oh yeah, they're they're a jugger out there, dumb.
If the if the Phillies had Wheeler right now, that
would be the easiest. Oh yeah, they're they're the best
team in the National League. But that's the great thing
about baseball is right now, Yeah, the Phillies do have
that kind of hole there in the fourth spot, and
even even in the third one. What is Lozarda going
to be thinking about all the comfort of having Wheeler

(01:10:48):
and Sanchez to start, isn't there? All Still, they're great, all.

Speaker 3 (01:10:52):
The depth they had his starting pitching, and now it's
coming into play because now you need it, and you
know what, no one might help at some point who knew?

Speaker 2 (01:11:00):
Who knows he could go out there and throw a
good game for five innings or something like that, all
right under the NFL NFL football one o'clock met this
out of nowhere, Carson and Wentz starting. You know how
many backup quarterbacks are playing this week? They like half
the half the league. Uh, they are giving three to

(01:11:24):
who I can't read my own writing. Where they playing
Cincinnati in Minnesota, Mike Carson Wentz against there's the backup
for Cincinnat Jake Brown. Jake Brown, who didn't play horrible.

Speaker 5 (01:11:35):
I mean sorry, he has played a lot of football
because Burrow has been hurt and he's been fairly good.

Speaker 3 (01:11:40):
If you're serious, better, yes, sir, And you got two
backup quarterbacks, good luck, because you should probably run.

Speaker 2 (01:11:47):
Should not be betting this game.

Speaker 1 (01:11:49):
Well.

Speaker 3 (01:11:50):
The Minnesota coach is great, I think anyway, and he
does a really good job. McCarthy wasn't playing that well anyway.
He's had one good quarter boy. I just think Cincinnati
would out without what's his name putout bo. It's just
a different and their defense thinks.

Speaker 2 (01:12:08):
Usually Al Golden's not getting it done for you.

Speaker 3 (01:12:11):
I don't think it's how Golden's fault. I just don't
think they got a lot over there. I in Minnesota's
home in this game. Yeah, I'd lean towards Carson. I'll
take Cincinnati.

Speaker 4 (01:12:23):
Joh I really like Cincinnati.

Speaker 5 (01:12:26):
I think it's being a little overrated that you know,
Minnesota can just plug in any quarterback. Carson Wentz has
been on a lot of teams for a reason. He
turns them all over a lot. He's not looked really good.
Jake Browning has been good. Jake Browning has won games
with Cincinnati. I think this should be closer to like.

Speaker 2 (01:12:41):
Lose a September game they had.

Speaker 5 (01:12:44):
And they probably should have lost last week against jacksonvillef
Jacksonville didn't make Every single player made a mistake. It
was but then also you see he threw two touchdown
passes and both receiving. It's like I have Trever Larns.
Everybody made a mistake in that.

Speaker 4 (01:13:00):
It was wild to watch.

Speaker 2 (01:13:01):
Something surrounds that team, and I don't know what.

Speaker 5 (01:13:05):
There's just Jacksonville is one of those teams who are
no matter who you have, there is a curse surrounding
you that will just never go away.

Speaker 2 (01:13:11):
So, Mike, is it true that the team that shall
not be named is not punted in two games? How
about this first team in the Super Bowl eras jeez.

Speaker 3 (01:13:21):
Since nineteen seventies, they is not punted in the first
two games and they're playing Tennessee.

Speaker 2 (01:13:26):
They are How about this one? Tennessee is not covered
in its last eleven home games and they're home getting
four from the team that I know the team is
should not be made India. But I'll tell you what.

Speaker 3 (01:13:39):
The two Eagle assists, former assistants from the Super Bowl team,
are both unbeaten.

Speaker 2 (01:13:44):
So he's he's obviously doing something right. I don't know, John,
do you lay the four? I don't have an opinion.
I don't have an opinion. John.

Speaker 5 (01:13:53):
It's it's a little bit tough because at some point
the Colts are going to come down back to Earth.

Speaker 2 (01:13:59):
You're not buying the and your jons?

Speaker 4 (01:14:01):
I no, but maybe I can buy that.

Speaker 5 (01:14:04):
I think Daniel Jones could be the the same dark
I can't buy Shane Sni. I can buy Shane Steikens offense,
and when everything clicks, Daniel Jones can run Shane Steikeen's offense.
It's a lot of times with quarterbacks it's when things
don't nes like there's something slightly off that they start
to panic. And with when you're with the Giants, that
happens a lot. And Daniel Jost coaching exactly. He's he's

(01:14:28):
in a situation where the red is gonna be there
and your first guy is gonna be there, all you
have to do is just make the throat. That's not
the problem with Daniel Jones. It's when he has to
use his brain is that that becomes a huge problem.

Speaker 4 (01:14:38):
He doesn't have to like, they still give him, They
still they still pay him. That's a that's a pretty
good gig.

Speaker 5 (01:14:48):
But Tennessee isn't going to knock Daniel Jones off of
his platform or give him any trouble. Tennessee stinks and
cam Ward is a great talent. But I'm I'm going
into that.

Speaker 3 (01:14:58):
Four or five years ago, were in the AFC Championship Game.
I think we're ye and we're really good. Now now
they're like one of the worst teams in the NFL.

Speaker 5 (01:15:07):
Well, they decided to trade away A J. Brown and
then at the trailing Burks to replace him.

Speaker 2 (01:15:12):
Squad Jacksonville minus one and a half at home against Houston.
We'll let you start up.

Speaker 4 (01:15:19):
Wow one and a half, What is Houston done?

Speaker 2 (01:15:23):
I'm just telling you that's what That's what it says there.

Speaker 5 (01:15:27):
Oh yeah, oh absolutely, we're getting close to a pick
them with a Houston team that has showed no good
offense they have.

Speaker 2 (01:15:36):
They can't protect the quarters the worst exactly. They have
the worst line in the NFL.

Speaker 5 (01:15:42):
And if Jacksonville has one thing that's extremely good, their
edge rushers are phenomenal Josh Allen Hines and Trayvon Walker.

Speaker 4 (01:15:52):
Maybe I can see.

Speaker 5 (01:15:54):
I can absolutely there were there were they were mistakes
last week, and there there is some mess there for Jacksonville.
But also quarterback played well last week all things considered.

Speaker 2 (01:16:05):
Where your quarterback waved off the coach, did you see video?

Speaker 4 (01:16:09):
And Liam Cohn was like, yeah, he probably should have
done that. It was fine.

Speaker 5 (01:16:12):
But I and I think Liam Cohen even said after
the game, like, yeah, the quarterback played well like that,
that's not the problem we are. We are making plays.
They have wide receivers that can make plays. It's just
don't you can't keep making the big mistakes or even
for them, it was a lot of little mistakes. But
through two games, Jacksonville's looked like the better football team,
the actual team that has talent can move the ball.

Speaker 4 (01:16:34):
I like Jacksonville.

Speaker 2 (01:16:36):
There you go, I'll take Jacksonville too. Mike, was that
that's the Texans?

Speaker 3 (01:16:40):
Yeah, Okay, I got this little tidbit the under in
Texan games thirteen and six. It's the highest rate in
the NFL of under games.

Speaker 2 (01:16:51):
Just so I throw it out there. What's the under
on that one? John?

Speaker 4 (01:16:53):
Could we it's gonna be low, low forty four.

Speaker 2 (01:16:57):
I might have to look at the under in that
game Atlanta, as I addicted wax from Minnesota. Last week
Monday Night Football minus five at home against Carolina, Right,
I mean, okay, I think I got a Carolina thing here.
Carolina has covered five straight as a home dong boy,

(01:17:18):
so they're a home dong, John, are you buying Carolina?
Is a home dum?

Speaker 5 (01:17:24):
And I buying Carolina for anything? By the way, anything Carolina. No,
But that is Bryce Young has regressed significantly. It's back
to all the bad stuff that he was doing earlier
in his career. That that, to me is is just
a giant red flag. But yeah, maybe Canalis was able
to figure something out for him that that made things

(01:17:44):
easier and Bryce figured something three or.

Speaker 3 (01:17:47):
Four games every week where we sit here the next
week and go all the time. Carolina loses, but they
don't lose by whatever.

Speaker 4 (01:17:53):
That all the time in the NFL, it's just that
that that red flag is too big for me to
want to try it. They may be like a two
win team A to t L.

Speaker 2 (01:18:03):
For me, Tampa at home, Tampa minus six and a half.
Looking ahead to the Eagles against the NY Jets. Mike,
the Jets. Okay, we got a Jets one year. The
Jets are nineteen thirty nine and one as a road
dog against Ats against going back against the sprint against

(01:18:28):
the spread. Oh my lord.

Speaker 3 (01:18:29):
Yeah, Now let me I want to ask you guys
a question because I just interested this. The Rams are Tampa.
That's the Eagles next two opponents. Yes, who do we
think is the better team of those two teams?

Speaker 2 (01:18:39):
Rams cracks?

Speaker 3 (01:18:41):
Okay, but I think Tampa's good. Tampa's had the Eagles
number right for a few years now for sure. But
that's an interesting because that's the Eagles next two opponents.
Both good teams, both look like playoff teams. Boy, you
got to give credit to the Tampa quarterback for just
turning his career brown should a captain another franchise?

Speaker 4 (01:19:03):
Just any anything they touched.

Speaker 3 (01:19:05):
Miles Garrett, it was the worst thing you could have
ever happened to. Miles cout, what's the line on this game.
Six couldn't bet the Jets. I'll take give me Tampa
Should I take the Jets just for the hell of it, No,
I can't take that.

Speaker 2 (01:19:17):
Fields isn't playing.

Speaker 4 (01:19:18):
It's Tyrod Taylor.

Speaker 2 (01:19:22):
Tyrod is still around.

Speaker 4 (01:19:24):
This is gonna hurt.

Speaker 2 (01:19:25):
He played well against a couple of years ago.

Speaker 5 (01:19:27):
It always happens where you take one of these games
and it's ugly and you look like the smartest person
in Warrior.

Speaker 4 (01:19:32):
But why would you ever bet that?

Speaker 2 (01:19:34):
Exactly?

Speaker 4 (01:19:34):
I'm going to Jets a plus six and a half.
Tampa Bay's been in close games.

Speaker 5 (01:19:38):
It's not like their offense has been overly beating teams
and their defense has been beat at times like Houston
was able to find.

Speaker 2 (01:19:46):
Two or three star.

Speaker 4 (01:19:47):
Yes, absolutely they are. There's some injuries in the offense.

Speaker 2 (01:19:50):
You can get to the quarterback, they can do that.

Speaker 5 (01:19:52):
It's a good defense. The only problem they had last
week is they ran into Josh Allen. That's based problem,
which is a big problem. Tampa Bay's offense has not
been like that. So I think I'm gonna take the
Jets here getting the points. This is going to be
a close game. It would not surprise me if this
is a field goal type game. It's that close.

Speaker 4 (01:20:11):
But I will I will go to the Jets.

Speaker 2 (01:20:12):
We got Are you hanging with your status? What time
is it? I may take off my current golf Yeah,
like the rest of it. I will tell you this.
The Steelers are zeroing to and gets spread for the
first time since nineteen.

Speaker 3 (01:20:28):
They haven't been owing three since thirteen, and I think
they're only laying one and a half from my c.

Speaker 4 (01:20:33):
To two now to the New England Drake May has
been playing better.

Speaker 3 (01:20:37):
No, well, the coach is a good Yeah, he can
do it. But man, don't you have to lean towards
I mean, can they be one and two with Rogers?
I guess they can, but I would.

Speaker 2 (01:20:48):
Lean towards the Steelers.

Speaker 5 (01:20:50):
They have right, and it also doesn't That was a
year that was a silly, bad mistake by Caleb Johnson,
the not the letting the kickoff. So that is a
seven points with a really bad play that you gifted.
So it looks it looks worse than it probably was.
But also the offense didn't move that well.

Speaker 2 (01:21:08):
Yeah, just just you're gonna talk about all these games.

Speaker 3 (01:21:10):
Uh, the Chargers are at Denver, big game, They're given
two and a half charge of home.

Speaker 2 (01:21:16):
I kind of like the Chargers, Dallas giving one and
a half the Chicago.

Speaker 3 (01:21:21):
Actually, I kind of like Dallas, Arizona getting three at
San Francisco. I kind of like the Arizonas and Detroit
getting four and a half at the Baltymorees. I think
I kind of like the Baltimorees. Baltymore's really good. They
just kind of blewed up one game that I guess
they shouldn't have.

Speaker 4 (01:21:40):
Lamar Jackson is a freak.

Speaker 5 (01:21:42):
It's just I've never seen the quarterback position played that efficiently,
running the ball, passing the ball. You know, he's got
to do it in the playoffs. Yeah, doesn't absolutely, And
I just hope we get there. But I just I
don't think I've seen anybody play.

Speaker 2 (01:21:57):
Great race day. I will probably be listening with your grandchildren.
You got well enjoyed. Mike has grandchildren. We have Ryder
Cup next week. Ryder Cup next week? Wait, should I
make a pick name? I'll make a pick Euros. The
Euros are like they're better, They're getting like one fifty
they're better, but they haven't won here since twelve. I
don't care. I know you don't care. I'm just telling you.

(01:22:20):
I'm leaning towards the Euro's colose of the price Man.

Speaker 3 (01:22:24):
It's going to be tough in New York because those
idiots up there will make it a circus. But the
Euros have eleven and the twelve guys back that waxed
them a couple of years ago.

Speaker 2 (01:22:33):
Euros. I'm leaning towards dick Man for because of the price. John,
get us to break, Mike Enjoy the will be just
Oh no, I won't. I'll turn four thirty to seven.

Yeah, I wonder where people are going with this game
because Marcus Mariota probably isn't too favorable in many people's eyes.
But I think he came in last year for Jade
Daniels because he got hurt a little bit and he
played somewhat well. But I just don't think the Commanders
have looked good in general. I think there has been

(01:26:18):
problems with them this year. It's just that the Raiders,
and I thought Gino Smith was doing the best of
that he could. It's just that the Chargers were much
more talented and really there was nothing there. But is
Washington's defense the same way is with Mariota there under center,
can they pull away from the Raiders. So like Beate Carroll,

(01:26:40):
I think has done a good job there so far
through two weeks, as best as you can for how
bad the Raiders were. And Gino is going to make plays,
and I thought he made plays against the Chargers.

Speaker 2 (01:26:49):
I like the Raiders.

Speaker 5 (01:26:52):
I think they can win this game. It's not my
favorite play. It's just that I'm worried too much with
each side, but I'm going.

Speaker 2 (01:26:58):
With the Raiders. Yeah. My concern with the Raiders is
the second cross country trip in three weeks, right think
West started New England. That's a bit of a concern
to me. But having said that, Gina didn't play well
last week, but they have the better quarterback at this
stage of their per Marcus Mario is an unknown. He
just hasn't played very much lately. So I'll take the
Raiders plus three and Washington to me, was always due
for a letdown after last year there that was a

(01:27:20):
kind of a fluke situation. I mean, if Jane Daniels
is a lot of flu games they want they want,
it was gonna be tough for this insane games. Green
Bay minus seven and a half eight right around there
at Cleveland. Green Bay has probably looked better than anybody
in the league. They have been phenomenal. Cleveland out played Cincinnati,
the opener lost, hung around for a while against Baltimore

(01:27:44):
and then the lack of offense just killed him, and
then Lamar Jackson went nots They got killed. It's a
big number to lay on the road in the NFL.
But having said that, Green Bay has looked great, I'm
gonna take Cleveland hoping their defense can somehow keep the
game so much close.

Speaker 5 (01:28:02):
This isn't like a Baltimore situation where Baltimore can run
up the score and you're a big time I mean
that again. Lamar Jackson is playing the best football I've
maybe seen a quarterback play. And that's I mean not
to say Patrick Mahomes is still like the best quarterback
I've ever seen. It's just the way he's playing the
position right now has never been done before, and it's
really fun to watch.

Speaker 4 (01:28:21):
Jordan Love is good. It's not been that.

Speaker 5 (01:28:24):
So are they gonna be able to score enough points
to cover that seven and a half? I think one
thing that helps out a lot. And the problem with
Cleveland right now that they should just try and start
Dylan Gabriel, shout over Sanders and do what they have.
Joe Flacker was turning the ball over at an alarming rate,
and so when you have a forty year old quarterback
who can't move turning the ball over like that, and
then against the defensive line that's playing as well as

(01:28:45):
Green Bays is right now with Michael Parsons, Gray or
Gary excuse me, good luck. I just think there's gonna
be so many turnovers for Cleveland. They're gonna move the
ball somewhat well, Aby, but the turnovers are just going
to it's gonna be backbreaking.

Speaker 4 (01:29:00):
I'm I'm going with Green Bay seven and a half.

Speaker 2 (01:29:02):
I'm not loving it, bit, Yeah, I'm with you. I'll
take Cleveland and the points, but no real field for
the game. Final one o'clock game, Pittsburgh minus two at
New England. New England's won on one. They won at
Miami and then lost close at home to the Raiders.
Pittsburgh also one and one beat the Jets lose at

(01:29:22):
home to Seattle in a game that was was a
fourteen point game, John, but seven of them were because
they guy forgot to pick the kickoff up. What are
you thinking here?

Speaker 5 (01:29:32):
I'm thinking Pittsburgh might be bad and the biggest problem
is going to be their defense. Honestly, I know they
they were gifted Pointsman, Seattle is moving the ball and
they haven't been. They didn't Week one, and I thought
their offense is going to have a ton of problems.
Now they got Cooper cup involved and Sam Donald looked okay,
still looked better than they should have.

Speaker 1 (01:29:54):
Yep.

Speaker 5 (01:29:54):
So I think with Pittsburgh it was more their defense
could carry away and just hopefully the bonus is Aaron
Rodgers gives offense some life and it's been the complete
opposite their their defense has been terrible. I think I
might go with the Patriots and think that Drake May,
who has played maybe his best football in two weeks
and certainly maybe his best game last week, that he

(01:30:16):
can he can certainly beat Pittsburgh at home, and Mike
Rabil can out coach Mike Tomlin at this point.

Speaker 2 (01:30:22):
So I'm going to England. I'm taking the points too.
I don't have any great confidence in either team, but
Pittsburgh just look they've been you know, there's somehow they
get in the playoffs a lot of years, but then
they get killed every time. They just haven't been very
good for I don't know, five six years now with
Mike tomlind they're just kind of treading water. Part of
its talent and it is not good enough.

Speaker 4 (01:30:45):
Most of it is.

Speaker 2 (01:30:45):
Snaron Rodgers hasn't been the problem. He's been basically fine,
but their defenses John said, just, oh, four o'clock games.
I'm gonna start with this game because this is gonna
be my Iverpool game this week. Seattle minus seven and
a half against New Orleans Lawrels just kind of hung

(01:31:05):
in there in games, but they're not they stick. Seattle's
very good on defense. Sam Darnold is, yeah, looking at
a great year in Minnesota's but he's fine. I'm taking Seattle.

Speaker 1 (01:31:19):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (01:31:20):
I don't necessarily know about the points. I say, to
win the game, to get yeah, right, to win the game,
and then yeah. Yet the next week I was thinking
about Buffalo, but I had a feeling Miami was gonna
play well Thursday night, and they did that. They still
get They still lose by ten or whatever the final
number was. I don't what do you have a feel
for the point spread in this that's a big number
seven and aspect number.

Speaker 4 (01:31:41):
I don't know if I do.

Speaker 2 (01:31:43):
But the Saints have been in games yesterday, so it's
not like they've been getting blown out. Right, I'm a
little terrible. I'm a little reluctant because of that. But
the Seattle's not an easy place to go.

Speaker 5 (01:31:55):
No, not in the tough thing for the Saints weren't
their first two games both at home? Yeah, they were
both at home. So it's the first game of the road.
It's three straight division games to start the year, Arizona,
San Francisco.

Speaker 2 (01:32:07):
Seattle, the NFC West, loving or not, but they played the.

Speaker 5 (01:32:11):
NFC West, excuse me, three straight time, and the NFC
West has been tough, like it's it's a decent conference
in the revision.

Speaker 2 (01:32:19):
Yeah, and they played I assume the Orldans plays the
Rams at some point, good luck.

Speaker 4 (01:32:22):
Like, yeah, I don't know. It's just.

Speaker 5 (01:32:25):
At some point, maybe the fact that Spencer Rattler is
starting a quarterback that uh, the offense does start to
do the backbreaking things. They've been Okay, they haven't turned
the ball over, which is the really big thing, but
at some point, yeah, I think Rattler is going to
throw picks. And this is one where again it's your
third straight week tacking on the NFC West, it's your
it's your first game on the road, that this seems

(01:32:45):
like the first game where could all kind of fall apart.
Like the initial reaction for me is yeah, seven and
a half away, too many points, And I think that's
the reaction a lot of people are going to have.
But Seattle's defense is the strong suit for them. I
think they can cause a lot of chaos for for
the Saints offense. I saw, I'm going to go Seattle.

Speaker 2 (01:33:02):
Yeah, An Saints two games in the hung in lost
now road crazy, yeah place in Seattle, one of the
loudest places in the league. LA Chargers is a really
good game minus two and a half against Denver. That
game is in LA correct, Yes, surprise that line was
a little higher. There's a lot of respect for Denver

(01:33:24):
and there's a lot of respect for Sean Payton. Yeah too,
that's fair. They los Indianapolis kind of on a weird
end of the game. Give his second chance penalty field goal.
That was strange. But Denver we're talking about. Chargers have
looked said, the Packers have looked really good. The Chargers
are probably right there. In the first two weeks they
have looked great.

Speaker 5 (01:33:45):
Yeah, and there's there's a couple of things happening there
is Keen Allen still looks good. They signed him late ye,
but obviously he knows the offense, so he plugs right
in and has a great rapport with Justin Herbert. Quinton
Johnston looks like he took a step up. So now
they have playmakers on offense and a Mario and hand
has been fine that they run the ball well, but
they have playmakers on an offense, and in the second
year with Jim Harball, Justin Herbert has taken a step up,

(01:34:08):
that big time step up. I think Justin Herbert looks
like one of the better quarterbacks in the league right now.
I know there's a lot of times that he gets
ranked really high on these lists and he's called in
e laite quarterback and maybe he hasn't warranted that, and
I think there's elite skills but maybe not elite quarterback
play from him, but he's still very good. I think
we're starting to see him take that leap into elite

(01:34:30):
quarterback player.

Speaker 2 (01:34:31):
So I like the charge, and really it's just the
whole team. Jim Harball's done a great job.

Speaker 5 (01:34:35):
They're coach to well, they have skill position players on offense,
and they have a defense that matches it. So this
is a loaded team and I think they end up
winning the division, and I think this is the first
start of that.

Speaker 4 (01:34:45):
They beat the Chiefs.

Speaker 5 (01:34:46):
That's a great start because the Chiefs have been the
front runners in that Division for years now, and then
to also beat Benver, who is a team that's up
and coming. I just also think Bonnix has looked all
over the place, and this Chargers defense it's just gonna
to give him a little some paints.

Speaker 2 (01:35:03):
So I like the Chargers, Yeah, I haven't particularly like Denver. Yeah,
they played it either.

Speaker 4 (01:35:08):
I think Gonecks is extremely overrated.

Speaker 2 (01:35:10):
Yeah, I mean he almost lost that first game for him.
He was so bad against the Tennessee at home. Their
de Denvers defense is so good. They won the game
for him, but that was brutal. You'll take the Chargers
in here. They're the team that's playing well at the moment.
San Francisco minus two against Arizona backup quarterback in San
Francisco is why Mac Jones. Mac Jones, the former Patriot,

(01:35:35):
actually played well at New Orleans last week when they
won on the road. I know you've always kind of
been a Kyler Murray fan. Arizona is off. The both
teams are two and oh. In fact, San Francisco's two
and oh, and both games are on the rope. They
want at Seattle on that at New Orleans. That's impressive.

Speaker 5 (01:35:52):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:35:54):
I don't have a great feel for this game. Division game.
What are you thinking?

Speaker 4 (01:35:59):
Yeah, I don't.

Speaker 5 (01:36:00):
I'm going to take my chance with Arizona, and it
is a game I am going to bed. Kyler Murray
has been off to a fine start. It's not been
anything spectacular. The one thing I really like though, and look,
the first two games are against Spencer Rattler and Bryce
Yell to two teams that aren't good, two quarterbacks that
aren't good.

Speaker 4 (01:36:18):
So maybe that that has a lot to do with it.
But Mac Jones also isn't good.

Speaker 5 (01:36:21):
Yeah, and Jonathan Jonathan Gannon's defenses to me have been
have been good in Arizona. So I'm gonna trust that
Jonathan Gannon can really give Mac Jones some problems, that
Mac Jones reverts back to what Mac Jones really is
and he doesn't play well.

Speaker 4 (01:36:37):
So give me Arizona in this game.

Speaker 2 (01:36:39):
Yeah, I'll take as to give me, give me the point.
It's no great feel for it. Last of four o'clock
games tomorrow, Dallas minus one at Chicago. Dallas was very
fortunate debate the Giants. I mean very fortunate. Russell Wilson
like it was like a throwback game. He was throwing

(01:36:59):
Bob and h the Bears just got embarrassed in Detroit.
I mean when they gave up fifty two Yeah, just awful.
But basically saying Dallas is a little bit better, they're
on the road, giving the points that they are saying
they are like four points better. I got nothing here

(01:37:24):
that just all happen.

Speaker 5 (01:37:25):
Yeah, this game, it's just because Chicago's just chaotic. I mean,
there's there's times Kayle Williams has looked like he's improved.
And the offensive yep, giving up fifty two points is
wild not good. But on the flip side of that,
and I know Dallas' offenses actually looked pretty dak Is
Dek is awesome. Yeah, dek is such a good quarterback,
Yes he is. But their defense is a huge, huge

(01:37:47):
problem for them. And in a game like this where
yet Dallas is on the road and their favorite should
they be with that defense.

Speaker 2 (01:37:54):
So their defense is not very good and they traded
one of the best defensive players.

Speaker 5 (01:37:58):
Yeah, and when when that player is on the field
for them, they were a good defense last year and
the year ever since they've had mikeeh Presens. When he
is on the field, they are one of the better
defenses in the League. So they lose him and they
turn into the worst defense in all of football. So
their secondary is bad and getting gashed. They have no
pressure or getting no pressure on the quarterback. A lot
of the pressures that they got last week are just

(01:38:18):
Russell Wilson being Russell Wilson, and even still he was
able to get four hundred fifty yards passing. I think
I think Chicago's offense will look better. Chicago's defense is
gonna give up fifty two points. So I'm gonna take
my chance at the Bears and just say, yeah, this
this Cowboys defense is going to lose them games that
they shouldn't and this is one of those games where
Caleb Williams probably looks great. They throw the ball a

(01:38:39):
lot in the Ben Johnson offense looks like a Ben
Johnson offense, and they win this game.

Speaker 4 (01:38:43):
So I'm going Chicago.

Speaker 2 (01:38:44):
There we go Sunday night football at the Meadowlands MetLife Stadium,
Kansas City minus six against the Giants. Kansas City obviously
has to win the game, right They can't really go oh,
I mean, that's that's kind of crazy. The odds, the
chances of Russell Wilson putting up those kind of numbers

(01:39:06):
against this defense are zero because Kansas City's defense is
still very solid, as we saw it last week when
they played the Eagles. The Giants, I don't like Kansas
City's offense even a little bit because they just don't
have any skill enough speed at all.

Speaker 4 (01:39:24):
Is Worthy gonna be? I think Worthy might be if.

Speaker 2 (01:39:26):
He's back, then that helps obviously, But I mean again,
they were Eagles. I played them like, all right, you
can't beat us with your offense. But the Giants defense
not good, as they provedettes Dallas last week. I don't
I'm not keen on giving six, but I do think
Kansas City will win the game, and I think Russell

(01:39:48):
Wilson will be under duress from Chris Jones and the guys. Uh,
Spags back to these old stopping grounds. He's gonna be called.

Speaker 5 (01:39:58):
Hell for the Eagles, I thought he so there. There
was a lot of things said about Patulo and the
offense and all that. Look, Spag's just calling it a
phenomenal game. He just bags like, beat the blitz, go ahead,
and we're gonna come out you in a million different directions.

Speaker 4 (01:40:10):
And beat it.

Speaker 2 (01:40:11):
They only got him once on that keep all it.

Speaker 5 (01:40:14):
Was was Jalen made a good throw, put it up
that Smith and let him make a play. And Smith
made a great play.

Speaker 2 (01:40:18):
And that's it. So you're taking Kansas City here, and.

Speaker 5 (01:40:23):
Look, I I'm taking my chances with Chicago this week
and the Chets this week. This this can be a
weird week where but it's not just it's just the
Giants aren't good. And I think this is where you
see with all the good things Russell Wilson has at
the deep ball and he has neighbors that can do
it time, it's just I don't think he's going to

(01:40:44):
have the time. And there's also there's a lot of
mess with Russell Wilson. He has regressed in a lot
of areas. So he's gonna take bad sacks, bad sacks
and bad moments, and he's also going to turn the
ball over. And the Chiefs are going to take advantage
of that. So while their offense is stagnant, for sure,
if you get I had better advantageous steel positioning and
you you are getting turnovers your defense helping you out

(01:41:06):
like that, they're gonna score.

Speaker 4 (01:41:08):
So I'm going Kansas.

Speaker 2 (01:41:09):
I watched a lot of that game last week. Is
before the Eagles a Chiefs game, and there were a
couple of things I didn't understand. There were a couple
of plays during the game, and Wilson's having this great game.
We're all of a sudden the coach puts Jackson darted
for a play. He did it like several times. Right,
It's like, what are you doing?

Speaker 5 (01:41:27):
It's like it was odd just with the way Russell's played.
But maybe they don't they felt more in the running
game or just yes, I just found that weird.

Speaker 2 (01:41:33):
I did.

Speaker 4 (01:41:34):
I found it weird as well.

Speaker 2 (01:41:35):
Two really good teams Sunday night football. Obviously the Detroit
effort against Green Bay was an operation that was just
one of those bizarre pre based defense. Might just be that, Yeah,
maybe they're just that good Monday night football. Baltimore minus
five against Detroit. What the hell is the over under
in this game? I got?

Speaker 4 (01:41:51):
Is it in the fifties?

Speaker 2 (01:41:52):
I should I should know the answer to that question,
and I will find it. But John, I'll look it up.
What were your thoughts on on the game? As as
I find the over under?

Speaker 5 (01:42:01):
So we've had this conversation about like the best team
in football so far through like two weeks and what
teams kind of look like it, and Chargers look overall
really good.

Speaker 4 (01:42:09):
I think Green Bay.

Speaker 5 (01:42:10):
Green Bay is the consensus best team with the way
Lamar's playing and Baltimore's defense gonna get better.

Speaker 4 (01:42:16):
Baltimore's the best team in the league. And Baltimore and
Lamar Jackson is playing like the best.

Speaker 5 (01:42:20):
Quarterback in the league. He's gonna he's gonna destroy Detroit's defense.
I think they win this game. I love Baltimore. I
think they win this game by double digits, Like thirty
one to seventeen could certainly be in play, thirty one
twenty whatever. But yeah, Baltimore's offense and Lamar Jackson are
just too much at home. They've been really good at
home and in the regular season.

Speaker 4 (01:42:42):
I love this game.

Speaker 2 (01:42:42):
Yeah, Monday night crowds crazed in Baltimore. It look Detroit's fun.
I really enjoy watching them. But yeah, they're not gonna
stop Baltimore. Fifty three and I have to the over
under is it? I mean, that just tells you people
they're looking wide open. That's what twenty six, twenty seven
points apiece. That's a big number for an NFL game,
but it's probably the right number. That's why these guys

(01:43:03):
get paid, these people at ben Parks to do what
they do. They have their algorithms and they figure all
this stuff out. So there you have it. Uh we
interesting college football day, not super good. Can't wait for
next Saturday night.

Speaker 5 (01:43:18):
Yeah, it's not the heavy hitters in action, but it's
it's just interesting spots in the out of Illinois. Which
one Which one's gonna come out to Utah Texas Tech?
Yeah exactly, Yes, very interesting spots for a lot of teams.

Speaker 2 (01:43:30):
So your initial thoughts be where we get out of here? John, Uh, Obviously,
Oregon's got a game today against Argan State, but Oregon,
Penn State, Penn State kind of needs to win the game, right,
I mean at some point you got to beat some
of these good time to beat white out Beaver Stadium.
I don't think Penn State's look very good in the
first three weeks, but I don't know if they cared either,

(01:43:50):
so I don't know what that means. I think allers
look just okay. Yeah, your thoughts, your initial thoughts at one.

Speaker 5 (01:43:55):
And in these bigger games they have they've really open
things up on offense in these bigger games, so they
they make things easier for Aler because just they have
such a creative play caller. It's just I am concerned
about the offense though they they haven't looked great. They've
been really inconsistent. Warren was such a huge part of

(01:44:18):
and even in spot like the Villanova game is an
example of that third downs to just keep the drive going.
You're in you're in your opponent's territory and they just
can't make that one play to keep the drive going,
or that one big play that that kind of scares
me because Organ's gonna make those plays in score and
they're gonna score. So I'm going my initial I'm going
Penn State. I think they win the game. It just

(01:44:38):
it concerns me that the offense, just in those moments
like where the game is won, in those markets, like
the third down, red zone opportunities, all that, they just
haven't been that great.

Speaker 2 (01:44:48):
We'll talk more about that game next week. John, you
help save my voice today. Why don't you see if
that I talk that much, you're great. Why don't you
see if you can get us to the finish line.
I'm gonna go over to the gift shop see if
I can get myself some advil. For the rest of
the Jarney tea.

Speaker 4 (01:45:05):
Are you a tea in a honey guy. I know
a lot of people do that.

Speaker 2 (01:45:08):
First they have tea at the racetrack, but if they do,
I'll I'll be grabbing some here. I'm heading over across
the parking lot again four thirty to seven on NBC
Sports Philly. You can see me in my annual appearance
at a Coat and Tie. Hopefully I will stop a
voice by then, but we'll decide. John, Thank you for
getting us through. Do whatever you need to do to
get us to the finish line, and we'll see all

(01:45:28):
next one. Thanks Saturday morning.
