Speaker 5 (01:00):
Will start with baseball. It starts to night.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Probably that you can make a pretty good case the
two best teams in Major League Baseball. One of them
is gonna be gone before we.
Speaker 6 (01:10):
You can make a case for a lot of teams
still left to that. That's fair Philly.
Speaker 5 (01:13):
Philly's for sure, definitely one of the top two.
Speaker 7 (01:16):
That's fair.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
The Dodgers are now the favorite to win the World Series. Michael,
how are you You are in fact in Kansas City?
Is that accurate information?
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Yes, I am sitting in the backyard of mister John
Gallery of Sports Illustrated and Book Fame, and he's just there,
four of us out here. We're playing some gop, eating
some barbecue. Very nice the weather here. The weather here
has probably been nicer than when you got. It's been
like eighty degrees every day. I don't know why.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
We've been seventy every day. So yeah, we got, we got. Yeah,
you sound very sedate. Are you okay? You feel all right?
Speaker 8 (01:48):
He's very high, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
I'm just now. I'm fine. I'm just chilling, you know,
I'm trying to figure out, you know, like you're saying.
I mean, it's a weird time to be a Phladelphia
sports fan. For a sixty seven year old guy, maybe
even for a twenty five year had the Phillies have Peter.
I mean, when I look at it and again, maybe
(02:10):
I'll they have as good a chance as anybody. I mean,
that's just the way it is.
Speaker 8 (02:14):
They better their.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
Chance the last year, better than some the last three years.
Certainly the two years before last year they had as
good a chances just any And the Eagles are four
and oh and people are ripping them trying to figure
out what's wrong with them with people sweet and only
keep saying is well, look at twenty three. Twenty three
was different. And I'm not saying peoples are winning the
(02:35):
Super Bowl, but that happened for reasons that and I
have my suspicions about what might have happened or what.
But again, this is a really, really, really good football
team despite all the things they're supposedly not doing right.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
So well, yeah, we'll get to all that. Let's start
with baseball. The Eagles, by the way, have been out
gained in all four games in the fourno, So you
know what, no bottom line is there fourida. So here
here are the Betparks lines to win the World Series
at the moment. The Dodgers are the favorite at plus
two to eighty five, then the Yankees at plus three, fifty,
Phillies at plus four fifty, Seattle at six hundred, Cubs
(03:13):
at seven fifty, Brewers at seven fifty. That's the team
of the best record baseball. The Blue Jays had the
best record in the American League. They're plus seven to
fifty in Detroit, which was his favorite not that long ago,
is now the long shot at twelve to one. Just
the series line itself, Phillies and Dodgers, Phillies are plus
one zero five. The Dodgers are the favorite at minus
one twenty five, even though they do not have home field.
(03:37):
And the Stars are coming out tonight on TBS. I mean,
this is gonna be some scene at six point thirty
in South Philly. I mean the Dodgers are starting. Show ayo'tny,
but that's after he's leading off. He's gonna lead off
the game and then he's gonna be the starting pitcher.
Speaker 6 (03:53):
It's my favorite thing is when he pitches and he's like,
strikes out two of three in the first sitting and
then leads off the next enning hits five hundred foot
home runner, Like, Okay, this guy in this case, he
might lead off with the five hundred right and then
and then strike out a couple of batters.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Anyway, show Hey, Freddy Freeman, Mookie Betts. Those are the
major stars. The Phillies had the National League batting champion
and Trey Turner. They have the National League RBI at
home run champion.
Speaker 5 (04:17):
And Kyle Schwarber, and they got Pryce.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
Harper is one of the great postseason performers of all time.
I mean, Mike, we'll start with you. Your thoughts on
this series and just the fact that the star power
in this series is unreal.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
Well, I wonder if the Phillies had Wheeler. I'm guessing
they would be faked.
Speaker 8 (04:37):
Now, probably she could be wrong.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
That's probably guess. Okay, I think what has happened is
all year long, and the Dodgers may be the best team.
I mean, they were the most hype team all year.
I get, I get all that, but the way they
played the last two games they looked very good. They
hit small, but again they played figs. I mean, I'm
not knocking.
Speaker 8 (04:57):
The Reds hit the not in the Reds.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Yeah, they're not the They snuck into the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (05:02):
They lost at the end of the year and got
incause the Mets were worse.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
And now people have overreacted betty wise, which they did.
And again the Dodgers may deserve to be the betting favorite.
I'm not saying they're not. But you know, tany uh
what five innings of no hit ball the last time
he faced the Phillies, I guess, or something like that,
and then the full play their bullpen is not good
if you get to the Dodgers bullpen for whatever reason.
(05:28):
I'm not saying the Phillies bullpen is great, but the
Dodgers pull stinks. Now, the whole thing, to me comes
down the same thing has come down to the last
three years. If the Phillies getting one of those ruts
where they aren't hitting and they're swinging the balls in
the burden they're doing and in playoff baseball, this is
what teams do. They study you they they you know,
they come out with a game plan. It's not like
(05:48):
when you're playing three game series in the.
Speaker 8 (05:50):
Middle of all game.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
So I maybe in my philadel and I'm usually not
the Philadelphia biased guy, I'm the other side. I like
the Phillies in this series, I think, and especially if
they win Game one. If they win and I think
Sanchez is going to give him a good effort, I
know he's never I think Sanchez is going to is
going to match Otani's or come close to matching him.
(06:11):
Let me play it that way.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Well, he comes close to having the most unhittable pitch
in baseball right now. His change up. I think teams
are hitting like fifty against it, and Otani is awesome.
But he's not pitching seven innings or nine innings. So
at some point that Dodgers pullpen is going to come
out there. I mean, it's fascinating because the Dodgers did
play well the last twenty games. They finally got hot
(06:34):
in the playoffs. They were hot, and Mookie Betts did
not have his kind of year. But he's playing better now,
which is all that matters. And to my's point, the
biggest problem the Phillies had all year was their outfield
hitting was horrible. But Kepler has been good down the stretch,
Marsh has been a revelation, and Bader changed everything when
he came. And that's the lineup that's going to start
(06:56):
tonight against Otani.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
Bo I haven't kicked. I haven't paying as much attention
as did cast the liners just out of the mix
now is that.
Speaker 7 (07:04):
Well, exactly the Mexican against right handed pitchers.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
But the Dodgers have Blake Snell is going to start,
I think is he's starting Game two or Game two,
so he'll play. He'll play him on the night, So yeah,
he's not out of the matter. The mix just depends
on the type of starter. But I find it fascinating.
I find it hard to make a prediction here other
than the look, other than other than Cleveland, which is
(07:28):
out of the playoffs already because of the nature of
the playoffs, and Seattle. Nobody played better in September than
the Phillies. They played great, so they're coming in hot.
What this means that they didn't play this week, who knows.
And sometimes it's important, sometimes it's not. But I think
this is really evenly mattch I would probably take the
Phillies given the number plus one oh five. I think
(07:49):
you're getting a little bit of an edge there with
a home team. John, your thoughts on the Phillies and
the Dodgers as we get going with the Baseball playoffs,
the meaning for part in the Baseball playoffs getting rid
of the riff raft.
Speaker 6 (08:01):
Yeah, and look, the Dodgers are definitely a daunting task.
There's a lot of money in there, there's a lot
of great talent. Stani the forefront of it is like
one of the best talents we've ever seen in baseball.
It's a very flawed team. Like there's a reason why
this team did struggle a bit in the regular season.
Their bullpen stinks. They have lost a lot of games
in the regular season because of their bullpen. And I
(08:22):
think that's I don't know if that's necessarily a the
the best strength the Phillies have, but the Phillies do
have a good bullpens, right and and it is I
think gotten better as the season has gone on. We've
gotten really good pitching performances out of guys let's just say,
like Tanner Banks, Yeah, stuff like that, who have been
actually pretty good.
Speaker 5 (08:40):
Up against like exact games you really like.
Speaker 6 (08:43):
I actually do like that those matchups. So yeah, that
that the bullpen's great. The only thing is like starting pitching,
that the starting rotation is going to be after Christopher Sanchez,
it's gonna be a little bit of like you just
got to figure something out. You're putting a bunch of
puzzle pieces together and you're not exactly sure how that's
going to look. But again, I think it's strong enough
with the lineup that you have, and the bottom of
the lineup playing as well as it is so the
(09:06):
the top end talent in a lineup. Yes, it gets
you through a regular season. Yes it's great to have
it a postseason. But like every team sees, like the
Yankees are going to see, like every team, you cannot
rely on just one player or a few players at
the top of your lineup to win you a baseball game.
They're gonna need Harrison Bader, They're gonna need Brandon Marsh,
They're probably gonna need to Castianos to hit two. They're
gonna need j t Romuto, Bryson. Scatt's gonna have to
(09:29):
get hits like the bottom of the lineup. In Mundo sosaid,
that's that's how you win postseason games. And the thing
is that's where they've been pretty good lately. That's the
reason why they have won a bunch of games because
the bottom lineup has been that good. So I don't
know if the field I would feel a lot more
saying they're a complete team if they had Zach Wheeler,
of course, but they are the most complete team out
of all the teams in baseball right now.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
I think that's a fair statement. And I'm not surprised
the Dodgers are the favorite because look, they're making book
on what they think the public is gonna do.
Speaker 7 (09:57):
The Dodgers the best team, and that's fine, I get it.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
But I've taken advantage of that by taking the Phillies
at plus one zero five. And it's Philly starting rotations
as good as anybody's. But one of those teams that's
as good as them as the Dodgers. Their starting rotation
is terrific. It's not just otany that that is not
a problem. You can go up and down. They'll get
six good innings and of just about anybody they put
out there. And at the other X factor to me
(10:24):
is can they have postseason price Harper? And this is
he's been waiting his whole life for another one of
these runs. This is his fourth shot at it in
a row. He's been great most of the time. Boy,
they could use the great Bryce Harper. He's at rest,
He's been able to rest his injuries. Be fascinating to see.
So that's tonight six point thirty on TBS. Let's set
(10:45):
up the whole lineup.
Speaker 3 (10:47):
This is wild.
Speaker 5 (10:47):
The ballparks are ninety minutes apart.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
As we start the playoffs today two o'clock on TBS
Milwaukee hosting the Chicago Cups ninety minutes series the two ballparks.
People from both squads could get there. Four o'clock, Uh,
Yankees at Toronto. The Yankees are actually favored in this
game minus one oh seven, Milwaukee's favorite at minus one
(11:12):
twenty two. And then tonight probably the most unheralded team
left in the playoffs, which has a real chance to
win it all a Seattle. They are playing phenomenal baseball
and have a great rotation. They are minus one seventy
five over Detroit. And when I'm giving these at I'm sorry.
These are the series lines, not the not tonight slides.
That's the late game at eight thirty five on FS one.
(11:35):
After the Yankees at Fox and Phillies play again on
Monday night, no game tomorrow. They will play the Dodgers
at six o'clock or so on Monday night in Game two,
and then head to Los Angeles on to football.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
You got Mike, Wait a minute, one thing, what is
the like I said?
Speaker 2 (11:55):
I have been Lozardo, Lozarto, Lozardo Monday and Sint and
rangerez on uh on Wednesday in.
Speaker 3 (12:02):
LF And what if it goes game four? Did have
they have they said yet what they might do?
Speaker 7 (12:07):
I would assume it'ld be Aaron Nol.
Speaker 3 (12:10):
Okay, That's what I wasn't sure of, because I know
you fit in there or not?
Speaker 2 (12:15):
No, I mean no, Nola is gonna be if if
they can't come back to Sanchez, which I don't think
Saturday to what what are we talking for game four
Wednesday or Thursday Thursday? For game four?
Speaker 9 (12:27):
Is that enough time?
Speaker 2 (12:28):
Maybe he was Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. It's four days possibly.
I think what it might have to do with where
they are in the whole situation. But my understanding is
that Nola would start four and then they'd have Sanchez
for potential Game five at home. I think that's the
play and the Dodgers. I believe Otani's only going to
start this game. Uh, I guess he could start a five.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
He does.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
He never goes with four days rest. He always does
more than four days. Uh that that's been his history
and especially since he's been hurt.
Speaker 8 (12:58):
Uh So, well, here's a game five.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Good, there's a game five? Ye? If there's a Game
five here, especially if a Cownie pitches, well today, he
will pitch Game five. There's no way the Dodgers are
going to go out there.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
You yeah, you would think, uh and that's not you know,
in game five. Let me think about this this Saturday, Monday,
satur Thursday, Saturday, say that the whole week. Yeah, yeah,
he'd pitch it. He will not come back and pitch
in l a at game four. I guess that was
my bigger point, where there's a chance Sanchrice could potentially
uh pitch in that game. So we got college football today,
(13:34):
we got the NFL tomorrow. Let's start with let's start, John,
let's start, and Mike, let's start with a review of
the Penn State Oregon and then we'll get into Little
Eagles review before we get into their game tomorrow.
Speaker 7 (13:49):
So a couple of thoughts I had on the Penn
State Oregon game.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Mike, you may not know this. I told this to
John a minute ago. Of all these regular season matchups
against top ten teams that they've lost in recent year,
this was the first time they were actually favored in
the game, which is kind of amazing when you think
about it. But having said that, it looked like every
other game they ever played. I mean, their line play
(14:13):
was dreadful, the schemes were awful. The quarterback Drew Aller,
looked skittish all night long. They were very I just
thought Oregon was way better. Their quarterback was so relaxed
and poised in comparison to Penn State. And then after
saying all that, they're down seventeen to three and a fourth,
(14:35):
they score twenty one straight points. They're playing defense to
win the game, and I thought, and I didn't see
anything written or said about this, the single worst call
of the whole game. They're fourth and one on defense
at the five, and if you stop the play, the
game's over. You win. I'm putting eleven guys on the
line and saying, all right, look, if you get a
(14:58):
first time, you're probably gonna get touchdown. And we're playing
on instead. My man Knowle's the new defensive coordinator. He
watch the tape. He's got seven guys in the end zone.
It was incomprehensible to me what the defensive strategy was there.
So he's a three million dollar defensive coordinator. What do
you do it?
Speaker 5 (15:18):
National champion defensive right.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
I mean, what are we doing here? It made no
sense to me, But anyway, it was thought the better
team won. In the end, Oregon deserved to win the game.
It would have been a miracle if they didn't win.
But boy, Penn State had a chance to steal the
game and then didn't steal it. John, your thoughts on
the Didney Lions losing a big game, Okay.
Speaker 6 (15:39):
Yeah, and look it's not just us saying Penn State
has to win a big game. Penn State has to
be the top team. Penn State was saying that James Franklin,
that was the message for him going into this game. Yep,
Drew Aller he was talking about, Drew Aller is going
to show people in this game that Drew Aller is
a great quarterback and we're gonna be We're gonna show people,
We're gonna show everyone, show the world the Penn State
(16:00):
could be the top team. And they came out looking terrible,
absolutely awful and terrified. So this is just what they are,
and this is it's something that might not ever change.
This is supposed to be the team and I think
it is talent wise the team that's supposed to change it.
And James Franklin and Drew Aler both and I hate
to put it just on Drew Aller, but a lot
(16:20):
of it was on Drew Aller. Drew Aller cannot play
in these games, or at least play well enough in
these games. So yeah, they it's a lot of questions
just left unanswered, or maybe we know the answer now
that they're just not good enough, those two and that
that is going to plague them for the rest of
the Big Ten.
Speaker 5 (16:37):
Whether they can beat I think.
Speaker 6 (16:39):
They have a higher state on the schedule November one,
so still got it.
Speaker 5 (16:44):
Try and beat Ohio State.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
They got Indiana at home after that.
Speaker 6 (16:48):
Getting into a playoff, Sure, maybe you can still do it,
but can you beat a top team when you face
them again? So yeah, it's just maybe we have our
answers that this team, this coach, this quarterback just not
good enough.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
Yeah, Mike, you had a little more faith and we
did last week in Penn State. But I know you're
probably yours disporting.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
Yeah, but I made like four picks last week. They
were just like the like the I took the Eagles,
but I didn't really you know, I probably would have
taken the Bucks if it was my own money. But whatever,
the Eagles covered the Penn State. This is my my
thing about Penn State. What they did last year in
the playoffs changed nothing. Okay, and I know they made
the semi finals and they had notre Dame. You know,
(17:26):
right to the end, they'd be two craft teams that
they and they got a great break. To their credit,
they won those games. I'm not going to take it
away from me until they'd be it's not about winning
one game. Now. If they go and beat Ohio State,
let's say which I don't, you know whatever, they won't
be the favorite, or or they're going to get Indiana first,
which is going to be a game after that game, Like,
(17:49):
oh really, I thought it was before I.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
Could, but I think I'll look.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
It up and winning winning one of those games is
not going to change it changed the narrative that week, okay,
but he fash Penn State has to Andrena. It's hard
to win a national title, right.
Speaker 8 (18:04):
I mean, not a lot of teams do that.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
But again, the look on Franklin's face at the end
of these games, it's just horrible. And it's the same
face every single time because he's as frustrated as we
off and the quarterback. And I agree with everything John saying.
People kept talking about it and he may be great. Yeah,
he may go to the NFL, or he may be
(18:26):
great to rest of the college wall season, whatever, but
I don't see it. And again it's the same old,
same old Penn State, you know. And when you play
three cupcakes to start your year, and again they were
in overtime. Everything Dick said they came back with the
first three quarters of that game. Tell me that didn't
look like every other Fench State game, the Michigan games,
the Ohio State and so again they're going to get
(18:47):
their chance, and I don't know who they get before
Ohio State. I'm guessing they're going to battle have one
loss when they play Ohio State. But my god, and
then we're gonna hear the same conversations the whole week
in the Ohio State. Let's beat no Private, be a
three or four point underdog. Gat.
Speaker 7 (19:03):
I bet more than that, Mike. I bet like a
touchdown dog at Ohio State.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
Okay, yeah, maybe, And again, and you can make the
case heym we're touchdown dog. We maybe we're not supposed
to win the game. But at some point the Penn
State fans don't want to hear that anymore. You know,
I can only imagine what the what the crowd was
going out of that game. I can only imagine what
it turned into an exciting game. I mean, it turned
into a really good game, But just like the Notre
(19:27):
Dame game last year, it ended on the same play.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
Yep, sure you know.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
And they didn't have to quote that piss. Wasn't that
a first down play?
Speaker 2 (19:33):
Absolutely? If I remember, they've run a million times and
Oregon clearly had it scouted that their safety ran right
to the past, and Aler looked at the play the
whole way, never looked them off for one second.
Speaker 5 (19:48):
That this is a fourth year player.
Speaker 8 (19:50):
Third year is a second.
Speaker 5 (19:52):
That's the concerning part. Because I watched the quarterback.
Speaker 6 (19:56):
I watched the quarterback on the other end, who had
made ten starts going into that game, five of them
at UCLA, which is just horrible, so those don't count.
And he's starting in Oregon after a year sitting, and
he looked like he was more polished, better than Drew Allen.
Speaker 5 (20:11):
That can't happen, Yeah, I can't.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
I thought Oregon's line play was better, and I think
one of the reasons Penn State was ranked so high.
The main reason is because Aller and the two running
backs came back from a team that was in the
national semifinals. But Mike just made a great point. They
were in the national semifinals because who they had to
play to get there. Think last year in the big
games in the regular season they lost. In the Big
Ten championship game, they lost. They were life and death
(20:36):
to beat Minnesota and USC on the road last year.
I mean life and death. One of them was an
overtime game. The other one they had to fake a punt.
But the theory was because they had all these players back. Well,
you know what, that doesn't even matter anymore either. Oregon's
got an entire new team. Well guess what, their players
are better than Penn State's players. When you watch the game,
(20:57):
I mean, if you said you're watching the game, you said,
who's the better team?
Speaker 5 (21:01):
I thought it was pretty obviously.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
The better team was you know, friend State has back,
Ben State has back to James Franklin, and it gets
at some point. James Franklin obviously has done a wonderful job.
They win nine ten games most years. The university loved him.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
The top ten all that stuff.
Speaker 3 (21:21):
I'm not taking that away from him, and he took over.
I mean, Brian did a great job the two years
after Baturno, but but then he ran.
Speaker 7 (21:29):
He did a great job for one year the secondary
completely right.
Speaker 3 (21:33):
Yeah, you're right, you're right.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
He was trying to get.
Speaker 3 (21:36):
Right.
Speaker 5 (21:36):
But the first year he were left over from the
previous regime.
Speaker 9 (21:39):
That was really good.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
But at some point, when you're Penn State, that's not enough.
I mean, and I'm again I'm not saying you're gonna
win a national championship. It's hard to to do what
Clemson and Badman Ohio State have gone in Michigan. But again,
it's the way you look in these games a lot
of times too. It is part of the narrative.
Speaker 8 (22:00):
I agree, And I don't know what the answer.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
Is because at some point they're either going to and
they got to go to Ohio State. If Ohio State
was coming here. Think about Saturday nights, Oregon flies across country, right,
I mean, they're playing in a whiteout game. Defense State
fans are going nuts and it's seventeen to three at
the end of the third quarter.
Speaker 7 (22:19):
Yeah, really, it looked like they turtled up.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
It was bad. It was embarrassingly bad. And then Aler
was that great pass for a touchdown. They drive in
and tie the game, and then they take the lead again.
From the life of me, I don't know what Jim
Knowalls was doing on that fourth and one play. That
just was incomprehensible to me that you have all these
people sending in the end zone when it's worth and
(22:44):
one and I might not get the yard line right
on the five. And then when they got the first
don you know they're going to score? And then the
problem is when they score, then your defense is right
back on the field. And they scored all one play
and then Aler just the idiots pick at the end.
It's just brutal anyway, Pence. They will get to them
in a little bit. They're favored by one hundred and
the Rose Bowl today, I guess UCLA, which exactly who's
(23:09):
all right? So before we get to the Eagles in
Denver tomorrow here that's the one o'clock game on CBS.
Eagles favored by four and a half. Little review of
Tampa Bay last week. Eagles looked phenomenal in the first half. Defense,
great offense, did whatever they needed to do to go
up with down the field at halftime. Tampa, which had
been blitzing on every play, never blitzed again played zone.
(23:33):
The Eagles are clueless on offense. Herts went oh, P eight.
They looked like they'd never played offense before. I said
this for the show, Mike. I thought the Eagles defense
was phenomenal against a very good offensive team. They gave
up two long touchdowns on broken plays. Other than that,
I thought they dominated the game and they held on
just barely to win the game. Your thoughts on Eagles
(23:56):
getting to Florid oh in Tampa?
Speaker 3 (23:59):
Yeah, I mean it is hard to understand, and we've
seen this now most of the first four games, how
they can play so well for and my fear coming
into the year was if people were going to stop
Saquon Barkley, because that's just how the NFL is. They're
going to watch the film, you're go say okay, And
they have for the most part. Now they may not
(24:20):
going down. I don't think Eagles line. I think they're
hurting a little bit on the line. I think they're
not telling us, but I think guys are hurt. The
defense has been better than I think we thought it
was going to be. The two. Cook Cooper Desine might
be the best tackler in the NFL. He he is
the best taa if za Oh yes, exactly both of them.
(24:40):
But again you get to the second half and then
that one series they tried to get the ball to
aj three straight plays and he wasn't open, but Jalen
still flew the ball. It should have been a couple
of picks probably, But again, Baker Mayfond. What was Baker
Mayfield thinking on that interception in the end zone? Make
a down?
Speaker 2 (24:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (24:57):
Did that ball get tipped?
Speaker 5 (24:59):
I'm still not saying gets it.
Speaker 7 (25:00):
I think that's what happened.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
I don't care.
Speaker 7 (25:02):
He was opening in the back of the end. I
know that's what he was trying to do.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
But you know who doesn't make that play? Dalen hurt
her not make that play correct, He hurt and they
the Eagles has come up with a philosophy, whether you
like it or you don't like it, and it's the
coach and he's made the cock. They are not going
to turn the ball over. They're going to make you
beat them. So they block a pun on the first
play and are up and then and that's how the
Eagles play and everybody hates it the whole You know,
(25:28):
people looking at me. You know what, they've won twenty
twenty one or twenty one or whatever the numbers are.
You know what, he just keep doing it until somebody
and I keep hearing this. Will you know when you
get to the playoffs and they have been playoffs last.
Speaker 2 (25:41):
Year and what happened up put up historic numbers fifty
five and exactly in the last two games in the
playoffs were five.
Speaker 7 (25:51):
Yeah, no problem about John your thoughts on last week,
Then we'll get this.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
Get the game.
Speaker 6 (25:55):
Look, I think that the offense has had the luxury
of not taking risked because when you're scoring defensively the
way you are, when you're scoring on special teams the
way that they have, sure you get the luxury of
you don't have to take as many chances. Eventually they're
gonna have to, though, Like, eventually this offense is gonna.
Speaker 5 (26:12):
Have to do something.
Speaker 6 (26:14):
And so I get the no turnover sting, and I
think that is actually it's a very good thing. But
one thing I do kind of also understand is there
is a risk and reward to it. Like make trying
to make a play downfield, Yes, you risk an interception,
but also the reward is a very big play and
they have not had many of them.
Speaker 5 (26:31):
They are that is that has to happen.
Speaker 6 (26:33):
So like it's a good they're four and oh and
like I right, I can't complain too much about what's
going on because they have been great. They're four and oh,
they're in a really good position to do all the
things they did last year.
Speaker 5 (26:45):
But yeah, some things have to change.
Speaker 6 (26:47):
Like offensively, you can't go zero for eight and expect
to win every single game.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
You can't.
Speaker 5 (26:52):
And that's not only happened once.
Speaker 6 (26:54):
That happened in the first half of the last game,
and it happened in the second first half of the
Rams game and the second half of the last game
with Tampa Bay. That cannot happen consistently every single week.
You're going to lose a lot of football games if
that continues to happen. But the good thing is everything
else around that is playing at an extremely extremely high level.
Speaker 5 (27:15):
Their defense is there.
Speaker 6 (27:16):
Uh And like you guys said, Cooper degene And and
Zach Bond have to be not giving up any extra
yards and that's maybe the best thing about the Seagual team.
They don't give up anything extramental. They're so fundamentally said.
They get the extra yard on fourth and one, they
get the stops and don't give up extra yards on
defense like that is so elite.
Speaker 5 (27:33):
And their special teams playing great.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
One thing, there's one thing you said. It's wrong, but
they're not going to lose a lot of football games.
They're going to lose football games. They'll they'll lose them
games a lot of.
Speaker 6 (27:47):
No.
Speaker 3 (27:47):
No, but John said, if you play like this, you're
gonna yeah, no, no, I get it. They're going to
get beat somewhere. Somebody's gonna beat them and whatever. I
don't know what. The schedule is actually fairly easy. And
again everybody thinks about what happened two years ago, and
I understand that. I get it because we saw it
and we sat there and we were like, oh my god,
(28:07):
this is not that team. And I'm I don't mean
they're gonna go sixteen and oh or they're gonna do whatever.
But somebody's got to figure them out. The thing that
concerns me and I we haven't even talked about Smith
because Smith doesn't say a word. He just goes out
and does it. The root, the roots that they have
these receivers running. Are you kidding me? It looks like
Penn State. I mean they got me ram On different. No, really,
(28:28):
he runs chas you gotta do something. I don't know
if that's the coordinator, if that's Suriay, if that's.
Speaker 5 (28:34):
Jail and I don't know, but that is Yeah. The
weird thing is that's kind of always been that way.
Speaker 6 (28:40):
AJ Brown's route if the Eagles has not been that
diverse they had, like I think, I think they're right, Mike,
like they're gonna have to change it eventually, like they're
gonna have to give aj Brown more, But they they
have been so comfortable not doing that. And I just
think this is not a Petulla thing. This is just
the DNA of this Eagles offense under Nick Sirianni. And
I don't know if that's just a Nixy Rowni thing,
(29:01):
what Jalen Hurts is comfortable with for just what they
feel like a j Brown can do.
Speaker 3 (29:05):
But the guys, when they have the guy on the
other side of the field, the guy on the other
side of the field is really good too, and I
think we lose sight of that sometimes. And we saw
he caught the winning touchdown against the Rams on that
great pass as they threw that one yard bed. You've
got to get Smith into the game too. Everybody talks
about AJ Brown and I get that he's one of
the best receivers in the league, but the other guy
is really really good, and you got to turight end
(29:28):
that they can make plays too. So if people want
to stop saying Saquan's going to get hit at some point,
I mean, you know he's gonna They're going to figure
out a way to get him going at least a
little bit. But my god, that out in the first half.
You're watching it and you're like, wow, okay, this is
like pretty good, and then the second hit you're like,
oh my god, it can't be like that. And but again,
we talked about this all the time. It's still basically
(29:49):
their exhibition season, kind of sort of now as you
get further along, now, let's see what they do to change,
and maybe maybe they do, maybe they don't.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
We shall see. I would say that they were worse
this time last year than they are now, and they
were two and two. The defense was awful last year.
At this time, this defense is really good. Oh yeah,
that's they can change the offense was no Bet was
maybe worse than this crew other than Barkley, and they weren't.
(30:19):
They were very good on offense last year either at
this stage. So and Mike made the point earlier. It's
still the exhibition season for them because nobody plays. We're
gonna think that.
Speaker 6 (30:27):
I do agree with like the thing is, though it
has to change, of course, like they can't keep playing
it absolutely and they did it last year.
Speaker 7 (30:37):
I think they're aware of that.
Speaker 2 (30:38):
Yeah, we're gonna get back with our Eagles Broncos thoughts,
we need to take a break first.

Gambling problem one eight hundred gambler John I had, I
had the Eagles at four and a half this morning.
(33:43):
What do you what do you have at the moment
at bet Park's four to four and a half.
Speaker 5 (33:47):
I think it's still staying strong at four and a half.
Speaker 2 (33:49):
Four and a half, okay, so egoing to be on hand.
So four went down a half, So let's discuss the
game tomorrow one o'clock CBS. Eagles are in the all
these one o'clock games. It was a little bizarre. I
think their Thursday Night next week against the Giants. As
that sounds right, I think that's accurate, the Amazon Thursday
night game, so one o'clock home game Denver. Denver led
(34:10):
the league in sacks last year. They lead the league
in sacks now. Their front five is terrific. They got
Patrick certain who's maybe the best cover corner in football.
So their defense no problem. Their offense is very average.
I mean the quarterback. I know you're not a fan.
Speaker 5 (34:26):
I'm not a fan of Bonext I'm not, never been,
never will be.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
I just know I like Cortland Sutton. I think he's
very good at the wide out. But their offense scares nobody.
The Eagles offense at the moment. Who's not scaring a
whole lot of people. Eagles defense terrific over under forty
three and a half. They're screaming under right, I mean,
twenty one is gonna win the game? You would think, right,
if you can get the twenty, that should Yeah, I
(34:49):
would say, so you don't have to win the game. So, John,
your thoughts on Eagles and Broncos tomorrow at the league.
Speaker 6 (34:54):
Yeah, this is something that maybe I adopted from Mike Kerrent,
but I've been doing recently because the last two games
have told me take the Rams, take Tampa Bay. The
numbers are telling you to do it, like all the analytics,
the way even even the way you watch these games
being played.
Speaker 5 (35:12):
Sure, the Eagles just don't look right, but but they
they went a lot and they cover a lot.
Speaker 6 (35:19):
So I the the numbers and everything tells me, yeah,
Broncos defense is probably good enough to stop them. Broncos
their their offense has some problems, but still really talented
wide out, especially with Corton Sutton, and really talented at
running back.
Speaker 5 (35:34):
Now that R. J. Harvey is starting to really get
some runs.
Speaker 6 (35:37):
He looked great last week for them, So the running
games get involved in Schrumpaton's a really good head coach,
so everything is telling me Denver, Denver, Denver, Denver, Denver.
Speaker 2 (35:47):
So I'm gonna go.
Speaker 5 (35:47):
Eagles, except win.
Speaker 2 (35:52):
Early. They have a formula. They turned it over once
in four games, and that's one thing I'm very aware of.
Speaker 6 (35:58):
Like I can, I can criticize Eagles and say, yeah,
they're sure we're gonna lose games they keep playing this way.
But also they haven't lost yet, so it's hard to
bet against.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
Fundamentally sound and if they play with the lead tomorrow,
Denver to me is not a comeback team. They just
don't have enough pop on offense. And Mike also made
this point of bet Barkley. He hasn't got no great start,
but he has had no holes to run through, so
there's something wrong with the offensive line. Whether they're hurt.
Speaker 6 (36:21):
Yeah, did you guys hear the quote from Jordan Mayolatto
or it? Basically I will summarize what you said, but
he said they took a toll on them running the
ball as much as they did last year. It doesn't
take just a toll on the running back. It takes
the ton on the offensive line. And Joridan Myolotti said
going into this offseason and even starting the season, his
body recovering is taking a lot longer.
Speaker 2 (36:40):
Than he used. That's fascinating because Mike said they look injured.
So it's not injured, but just like betived. And that
makes some sense because again Barkley's getting the ball and
there's three guys right on. And Denver's run defense is
also very good.
Speaker 7 (36:52):
It's not it's not like.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
Cleveland's run defense, which is stuffing everybody, but it's very good.
So look, I'm taking Eagles into further notice that's just
what I do because they just they win every week. Mike,
do you want to make this unanimous or you want
to go to the other.
Speaker 3 (37:07):
Well, now I'm thinking of making unanosity. This is the
NFL that we live in, and people got to understand.
So the Rams last week were the second best team
in the NFL. Right, they should have beat the Eagles.
That are two weeks ago. I guess it worre what
have they done since? And then on Thursday night they
lose games. Why they lose the game? Oh, they turned
the ball over at the one yard line. Eagles don't
(37:28):
do that. And again Barkley, I think you guys, you
know Barkley has gotten it on like he's carried like
half the time in his backfield.
Speaker 8 (37:36):
Ye, he doesn't even he doesn't even get.
Speaker 3 (37:39):
To the line of scrimmage. But here's two things I
should have written this number down my apologics. Denver has
lost something like six of its last seven road games.
The Eagles are nine to three in their last twelve
of his favorites. So I'm taking the Eagles, and you
know me, I'm the last person that takes the home team,
and I always look for a reason. I think he's
going to be a low square. I don't think Denver.
(38:00):
I think Denver is good. I don't think as good
as people make them out to be.
Speaker 8 (38:04):
I really don't.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
I kept hearing that, right.
Speaker 2 (38:07):
I think their theory on them was they finished so
well last year that it was going to carry over,
and it really hasn't. Their defenses. Their defenses play off
the caliber and then some, but their offense is really average.
Speaker 3 (38:18):
You know who's going to win the AFC West Dick
are going to win the AFC West.
Speaker 7 (38:22):
Yeah, well they always do. Why wouldn't they.
Speaker 3 (38:27):
Don't.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
Yeah, yeah, Look the Chargers went to New York and
lost to the Giants. I didn't notice the Chiefs doing
that the week before.
Speaker 3 (38:34):
And how they look when they got They got wordy
Backtod and they're going to get back a couple of
weeks better and looks all of a sudden, Mahomes looked
like the best quarterback in the world.
Speaker 5 (38:43):
Again, that looks better. Homes looked unrealized.
Speaker 2 (38:46):
I have one other question about the Eagles, so on
their offense, and this has been from the first game.
On every play, it seems to me they're running the
clock down to like a half a second.
Speaker 5 (38:57):
Why does anybody know?
Speaker 2 (38:58):
Are we?
Speaker 3 (38:59):
Are?
Speaker 2 (38:59):
We like in college year where the coach is yelling
and I did see Siriann a couple of times yelling
their hurts. It actually cost them at one point, like
they're changing the play. What in the hell is going on?
Speaker 5 (39:08):
They've always been I feel like they've not like this.
Speaker 6 (39:11):
Maybe maybe not, and maybe it could be like a
communication thing just with Kevin Patullo, but they've always wanted
to run the clock down. It's a team that likes possession,
likes taking, likes wearing you down.
Speaker 5 (39:21):
Kind of that's a decision they made. Yeah, I do,
because it felt like they did last year the same thing.
Maybe not.
Speaker 6 (39:29):
I would have to check those numbers of like the
average uh time remaining for the snaptown both.
Speaker 2 (39:34):
That might be one of the reasons they get into
any offensive rhythm because they just takes so long in
between plays.
Speaker 3 (39:40):
Guy Mike, I think they want to shorten the game.
I think that their lot is, you know, we don't
want to give the Bucks a chance to score thirty,
you know, just in case did the Bucks get hot
and they almost did score thirty. The Agles just want
to and you know, they want to control everything Syriannity
can control. Freak's most NFL coaches are, and I think
(40:01):
that's just their way. The difference is last year Barkley
was killing teams, not like you said, the first four
games out so much, but he started to about this point.
I don't think he's going to kill teams this year.
I just don't who have games where he's really good
or who you know, But I think that the white
tackles is hurting a little bit. You just said about
my Alta. I think Dickerson is always hurt. He's just
(40:23):
hurt back when he plays through it because that's what
he does. And yeah, oh yeah, yeah all that and
when you put them together, this is what they are.
Speaker 2 (40:36):
Starts to become an issue. Yeah. Barkley, by the way,
his first wild game was the game three in the
Superdome where they just when they had the first long
run against the Organs.
Speaker 3 (40:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (40:45):
And I will say they are winning games for a
particular reason now, and especially it is on offense, but
this is goes defensively a little bit as well.
Speaker 5 (40:54):
They're winning in the red zone a lot.
Speaker 6 (40:56):
Like consistently and always getting the vessels on their zone,
which not a lot of teams do. And the short
yard ex thing. The Rams lost that game on Thursday
night because they cannot get short yards.
Speaker 2 (41:09):
They cannot.
Speaker 6 (41:10):
The Eagles do it every single time they get the
fourth and one, third and one, they or whether they're
in the goal line, they get it every single time.
That is hard to beat a team when they are
that opportunistic every single time they're in those areas.
Speaker 5 (41:26):
And that's like the NFL. If you win in those margins,
you win a game.
Speaker 2 (41:29):
All right. College football today, you're, oh, we're on the
college football hang type, brother, Now we're not.
Speaker 7 (41:39):
You're We're on to college football.
Speaker 5 (41:41):
We're going to Temple. We gotta get we gotta.
Speaker 3 (41:43):
Get our college college football.
Speaker 5 (41:46):
Come on, man, it's.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
At the link one o'clock ESPN plus you Texas San
Antonio minus six and a half over the ouse.
Speaker 5 (41:58):
You are OL's expert, like you have been right on.
Speaker 8 (42:01):
Them every week.
Speaker 3 (42:03):
Are you guys going down to the game?
Speaker 6 (42:05):
Are you like me?
Speaker 3 (42:09):
Are you going to get through the traffic? No?
Speaker 2 (42:11):
No chance?
Speaker 3 (42:12):
Are you okay?
Speaker 2 (42:15):
At one o'clock, he will not be in at Tenants
and I'm watching all the breeders got preview.
Speaker 7 (42:19):
Races, so I will not be in at Tennant. And
you're a Kansas there, so the answer is no.
Speaker 3 (42:25):
Temple is obviously case. He has come in and they're
they're better. Now what better means? Who knows? But the
two teams they've beaten stink right New Mass and Howard
or whatever was UTSA has owned them the last few years.
There's probably most teams in college football have owned this.
So I don't know, But I don't know if I
(42:45):
can take the owl getting the six and a half.
I just I don't know how.
Speaker 5 (42:51):
Much Temple, come on, give us a pack.
Speaker 3 (42:54):
I'll say I would love to take the owl, but
I think I'm going to take the Utsa's John Jansen.
Speaker 6 (43:00):
I'm gonna take my shot here because I actually I
think I think Temple's offense with Evan Simon has actually
looked a lot different than it has in previous years
and how it usually looks. I think there's enough offense there.
UTSA is not as counted as they were a few
years ago. I forget that the running back and quarterback
they had, but they were both great own the count's fine,
(43:21):
like it's a fine team and it's but I do
think that this conference, Temple can win a few games,
and I think this is one of them. I think
they can win this game at home. I have a
certain rule, Uh, don't ever bet Temple.
Speaker 5 (43:35):
Especially when they're getting less.
Speaker 2 (43:42):
That's what I will do. Mike, you're on the radio.
I just wanted to let you know that whatever your
conversation is in the background, you just got to keep
it to yourself.
Speaker 3 (43:49):
I'm changing venues here.
Speaker 2 (43:54):
CBS three Things headed to the Link Rose Bowl. Well,
there's been more people at the Lake and the Rose
Bowl today representing the home teams Penn State minus twenty
five against UCLA, which is so bad that the interim
coach fired the others coordinator the other day.
Speaker 7 (44:15):
I don't even know what to say about this game
other than Penn.
Speaker 3 (44:19):
State, which anybody at UCLA you're nuts. I don't care.
Penn State might not care. Flying across country coming off
of a loss, you cannot play the Booge. You either
don't play the game or you play Penn State.
Speaker 2 (44:36):
I'll take Penn State. Penn State now, by the way,
we mentioned it before one in fifteen under James Francklin
against the top five, four and twenty one, against the
top ten, fifteen to thirty against the top twenty five,
four and seventeen Michigan, Ohio State. The good news is
UCLA is none of that. No, not even because they
stink that nobody that nobody cares. There'll be more Penn
(44:59):
State UCLA fans and the rose Bawl I that I
could guarantee you, because they're buying a pench State and
along there everywhere, and they saw this on the schedule
they said we're going.
Speaker 5 (45:10):
So they'll be there if you can stand it. Penn
State should.
Speaker 7 (45:14):
Look good against the sad sech croach and actually a
good game.
Speaker 2 (45:17):
At three thirty twenty SPN Texas minus five and a
half at Florida, where Billy Napier is again hanging on
by a thread.
Speaker 5 (45:28):
John Chish, Yeah he is.
Speaker 6 (45:31):
So these are two really good defenses, and they're two
quarterbacks that's struggling and two offenses that just can't find
any rhythm.
Speaker 3 (45:39):
Yep.
Speaker 6 (45:39):
Now Texas has played like Sam Houston and all these
so there's been some good I don't think it's completely
fine with arch Manning, and the timing still seems wrong
and everything just seems a little off rhythm for him.
It's just which defense is better, and I think Texas
just more talented. I'd probably just go with Texas by
default because I think their team is better and the
defense is better. I think just overall skill position players
(46:02):
might be better as well. But yeah, it's it's just
which quarterback makes the most mistakes, and that's that's a
really tough thing to guess.
Speaker 2 (46:09):
Yeah, I'm gonna take Florida and plus five and a half.
I have no great opinion on the game, but in
Florida's quarterback. The last time I saw him in that
LSU game was just dreadfowful. He lost the game for him.
I mean, I don't like archs Manning. He's done nothing
for me up to this point. So I'll take the
points at home.
Speaker 3 (46:24):
Mike, my friend is a big Florida guy. You know,
I've been with them thick and thin. I said, sit him,
Can they win? His answer no? He said, can they cover?
His answer no? I think I think this is an
ugly game. I don't what is the over unders like
(46:45):
forty two. I might lean towards the under because I
think both these teams are are struggling. Texas is definitely
a better team, but you know, Florida and whom in
that building, who the hell knows. I mean, you know,
Texas hasn't shown me enough to go on the road
and lay five and a half.
Speaker 2 (47:07):
I think this goes under unless there's defensive scores or
like turnovers. Yeah, this should go under. I don't see
a lot of long drive.
Speaker 6 (47:14):
It's just what defense can give them better field position,
turnovers that can change the game.
Speaker 3 (47:19):
It is like Kick said, though, like Kick said, the
Florida quarterbacks from five pips that game, that game went under. Yeah,
that game went under a thing.
Speaker 7 (47:29):
And look Florida was I thought they were the better
team of the night. The quarterback just gave the game away.
Speaker 2 (47:35):
Other three thirty game on ABC, Alabama minus ten and
a half.
Speaker 7 (47:41):
They've obviously reached They're for real, clearly.
Speaker 2 (47:45):
The first game is a bit of an aberration against Vanderbilt,
which is undefeated and is playing phenomenal football. And it's
just like that whole program is like unrecognizable. Like two
years ago, this would have been thirty minus thirty right
for Alabama. Now it's minus ten and a half. Mike,
Alabama giving ten and a half to Vandy.
Speaker 3 (48:05):
I mean, the whole world, although the line has come
down a little bit, so the whole world think the
Alabama because of what happened last year, are going to
kill them.
Speaker 10 (48:13):
And they might.
Speaker 3 (48:14):
They're good, but I think people are underrating his bandy
team a little bit, and ten and a half might.
I think Vanderbilt is going to play a good game.
They ten to HILF. I mean, Bama might just be
too good for them. But I I'm almost wanting to
take Bandy. But I'll take Bandy, what the hell? And
they'll probably lose by twenty.
Speaker 8 (48:32):
But I think they're really good.
Speaker 2 (48:35):
LUs ten and a half at Alabama, Johnny.
Speaker 6 (48:39):
Yeah, the Vanderbilt thing is not just Diego Pavia, and
I think that's what people think. It's just a scrappy
quarterback that's running by and getting his team wins. It's
a very talented team all over the place, the really
great up front, offensive line, very well coached. So there's
a lot of things going on for Vanderbilt that like
they are right to be ranked sixteenth, and I don't
think if they lose this game, they should be out
of the top twenty five.
Speaker 5 (48:58):
Like this is a great team. No, no, right, But
I think some.
Speaker 6 (49:02):
People would like, oh see the real Varonderbelt showed up,
Like that's what they're great. Ty Simpson looks awesome. I
have been a really big fan of the way he's looked.
I thought the Georgia game he was even better. Like
this guy is showed up like he was a really high,
highly touted recruit and he has looked at the entire
(49:23):
part in an offense that we know can be really
good and has produced a lot of great quarterback play
in college FOOTBA under Kaitlin Debor.
Speaker 5 (49:30):
So I'm I'm all for it, Like I'm I think
Alabama's great.
Speaker 6 (49:33):
I think Alabama's great again, and I think Alabama is
absolutely a national championship contender. Uh, that's a really good
football team with a really great quarterback right now.
Speaker 2 (49:43):
So I'm gonna go Alabama in that game. As it's
nothing to do with Vanderbilt. I just nothing to do
with legitimately. Look, they went in Georgia which won thirty
three in a row home.
Speaker 3 (49:52):
So that.
Speaker 5 (49:56):
It's not wrong to take him. I think it could
have absolutely, you guys, you guys.
Speaker 3 (50:03):
Is going to be batt and they're going to you know,
we'll see, all.
Speaker 2 (50:07):
Right, two three thirty games. I'm giving out my two
best bets of the day on BTN my undefeated Terps
at home against Washington getting six What are you serious
against Washington? Jed Fish shut out last week by the
buck Eyes, the Terps with one of another great friends
(50:28):
that that was pathetic. I'll take the Terps to win
it outright at Birds Stadium or whatever the hell they're
called for these days in college s E c U
s SECU Stadium against against Washington.
Speaker 5 (50:44):
That sounds horrible.
Speaker 7 (50:45):
Yeah, sure, I don't know what that is.
Speaker 5 (50:48):
What happened?
Speaker 6 (50:49):
A good stadium name never used to be named after
the former pro used to have a heinz Field.
Speaker 2 (50:54):
Early Bird was the president of Maryland years.
Speaker 6 (50:57):
Ago, called it Veterans Stadium, Right, John, You got a
thought on this contest? Yes, So I was really disappointed
with the way Washington played because I think Desmond Williams,
their quarterback, is actually really good. It's a good football team.
I'm cautious with this one league Washington's real deal. I mean,
this is a freshman that looks like already one of
(51:18):
the better quarterbacks in college football. I think we are
on like this guy could be an NFL quarterback.
Speaker 2 (51:23):
Alert, accomplish quarterback in yeah, Baltimore Catholic League, Baltimore anything.
Speaker 6 (51:29):
School history, and he is just like a top notch
already pocket passer. Again, I think there's a lot of
NFL traits there, and I am keeping an eye on
him for the NFL. I'm just cautious about it because
it is Maryland. There are going to be times where
the talent just doesn't match every you know, maybe the
way the quarterbacks play or everything they're doing. But I
do think the quarterback is playing well enough to win
(51:52):
this game, and their offense is playing well enough to
win this game.
Speaker 5 (51:55):
So I'm going Maryland.
Speaker 2 (51:56):
They did go two weeks ago, they went to Wisconsin
and just steamroll long which still do.
Speaker 7 (52:01):
They're a little different.
Speaker 2 (52:01):
I know Wisconsin's no good, but no, that's no Maryland
team in recent village done that.
Speaker 8 (52:06):
Mike.
Speaker 7 (52:06):
You got a thought on the Turfs and the Huskies.
Speaker 3 (52:08):
I don't really, but I just get to say this
so infrequently, and I'm going to say last week I
did give you Illinois out right, Yes you did, and
they wanted it can frequently and I also gave you
Titans Houston under which was.
Speaker 5 (52:22):
That the game out the USC Illinois breaking.
Speaker 3 (52:25):
Yeah, yeah, I don't know how good the Turps are,
so I don't know how to make a so I really, yeah,
there are good and I I tend to agree with
John a little. We all took a higher state last
week against Washington, so obviously we didn't think as much
of them. But yeah, I mean that that's and that's
a big game for Maryland because if they can win
(52:45):
that game, that that's the game that kind of puts
you up.
Speaker 5 (52:48):
You know, start five and oh and two and oh
and big ten play like I don't care hear you.
Speaker 3 (52:54):
Think about that great because that great big ten matchup
Washington Maryland.
Speaker 2 (53:00):
Yeah, of course huge.
Speaker 7 (53:01):
We got a couple more before we got to get
to a break. My best bet of the day.
Speaker 2 (53:05):
Wait, I said this last week Louisville minus six against Virginia.
Virginia's been celebrating for eight days. They're upset of Florida State. Uh,
this is on ESPN at three thirty, A lot of
really good three thirty games. Louisville is gonna roll to
I'm gonna win by four touchdowns. Good, Mike.
Speaker 3 (53:21):
I won't argue. I don't Yeah, I would not argue
with you, Dick. I don't know as much about Louisville,
but that line's telling you all you need to know
that Virginia just beat Florida State at home and now
they're getting touchdown on the road. That weird.
Speaker 2 (53:36):
But I mean I got one Louisville historical question. Who's
paying attention to? This's the greatest quarterback in history of
Louisville football?
Speaker 5 (53:42):
The march as John?
Speaker 6 (53:44):
Sorry, you just you just have no history, you know,
rub Did you know I already declared last week we
had the quarterback position better.
Speaker 2 (53:53):
Than any It's funny I just was looking at the
United Book last night, That's why I brought it up.
Speaker 5 (53:57):
But yeah, how about how about those two guys both
playing them? All right, that's pretty good, it's pretty quarter
Maybe Miller Moss could be the next one.
Speaker 3 (54:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (54:05):
So there's two really good ACC matchups today. It's gonna
be Duke Cal and Louisville Virginia. This is actually I
think these are two teams like win the ACC. Chayler
Morris has been really great for them. Texas North Texas
transfer Chandler Morris has been awesome, really great game against
Florida State. But man, it's a tough game to go
back to back on after Florida State. So I'm actually
gonna go Louisville here. They're really talented on offense. They
(54:26):
have a quarterback that's playing well in Miller Moss who
transferred from USC.
Speaker 5 (54:30):
So I will go to cards final.
Speaker 2 (54:31):
Two seven o'clock ESPN four to oh four and O
Texas Tech minus eleven and a half over Houston, big
big twelve game. Texas deck has been rolling people. Houston's
obviously solid. John will start with you. I'm gonna go
Texas Tech Houston.
Speaker 6 (54:49):
I've been so disappointed since they left the American because
I thought they could make a much much more noise
than the Big twelve than they have better in basketball. Yeah,
I just I don't like Connor Wegman. Like the numbers
are fine, he's transferred from Texas A and M he's
more of a runner, I don't. I don't love the
way he's played. Meanwhile, Morton or whoever they throw out
their quarterback, he's just been awesome for Texas Tech because
(55:11):
Morton did start the game, but also he got hurt.
I think of the Utah game and still the backup
quarterback came in and played amazing. So that Texas Tech offense,
it's very air eighty right now, and it's been good.
So I'm going to Texas.
Speaker 7 (55:23):
Ye, I'm gonna roll with Texas Tech.
Speaker 3 (55:24):
Mike, I'll take a shot with Houston, all.
Speaker 2 (55:28):
Right, Houston plus the eleven and a half final game,
seven thirty ABC game tonight, Miami minus four at Florida State.
Miami is still undefeated, playing great. Florida State is playing fine.
They just they lost in Virginia Virginia game in their lives.
Speaker 5 (55:45):
Their offense is great.
Speaker 3 (55:46):
I know that.
Speaker 2 (55:47):
Yeah, I'm taking I'm taking the Canes minus for John.
Speaker 6 (55:51):
Yeah, the Kynes defense is really good, so maybe that's
one way to maybe look at it. Just Tolarta State
and Tommy Castellano's not Castianos sell It said differently. Yes, uh,
Castillanos has been great, but what happens when he runs
into a really great defense in Miami. But Carson Beck
has kind of got a bit of a turnover problem. Again,
it happened in Georgia, and after the Notre Dame game,
(56:14):
he's been throwing more picks.
Speaker 2 (56:15):
That's a problem.
Speaker 5 (56:17):
I'm going Florida State on Florida State, Mike.
Speaker 3 (56:21):
I'm going Florida State. Unless it comes down to a
field ball. They'll still cover if it comes down to
the field I just I just think I was looking
at that before last year. Miami beat him a really
good last ye because Florida State stunk. They won like
two games the three years before that, Florida State won
the game. Now, I don't I know, Christo All might
not have been there all four years. I know, I
think this is Florida State and they and they had
(56:42):
an extra couple of days right because the game was
thirdy last week.
Speaker 8 (56:46):
I think it was and I like. I like Miami.
Speaker 3 (56:49):
I really do what I think. This is Florida State.
I think they win the game.
Speaker 2 (56:54):
Yeah, I'm not a big Castianos fan. I think he's
just Okay or Castellanos or whatever his name is.
Speaker 5 (56:59):
Yeah it is said differently. I am a fan. I
think he's I think he's a great college court.
Speaker 7 (57:04):

(58:42):
you mean we have there?
Speaker 8 (58:43):
The GOP tournament.
Speaker 3 (58:45):
I'm sorry, we can skip it.
Speaker 2 (58:47):
Yeah, we're skipping it.
Speaker 3 (58:48):
Okay, all right, I don't care.
Speaker 2 (58:49):
Okay, if I haven't heard of it, it doesn't count.
You want to sum up the rider to pick, to
do that, I'm good with that. Go ahead, Mike, We'll
let you go go ahead. We got enough time.
Speaker 3 (59:00):
Sanderson Farm, some minor league event that I actually played
in the program about twelve years ago down in Mississippi.
I know nothing about it other than Tom kim is
fourteen to one. He's he's three shots back. He used
to be good. I don't know what's happened to him.
I'm taking Tom Kim fourteen to one.
Speaker 2 (59:16):
Mike Hearn fourteen to one. And your summary of the
two day fiasco that was the Ryder Cup and then
last Sunday, which was great drama, but you know they're
never gonna win your thoughts.
Speaker 3 (59:29):
Well, the problem is when the PGA of America took
this to Beth Page, they set this up to be
what it became. You know, they trumpeted it for like
four years. Oh, you're gonna come to New York. We're
gonna treat you like craft the fans, and that's what
they got. They got a mess yes, which was you
know and again Rory God, you can yell all you want,
(59:50):
you can scream all you want, you can call names
all you want. You can't have the MC on the
first t saying leaving the chance of fu Rory do that.
You can't throw beer at Rory's wife. You can't do
that when Rory is getting over a shot. You got
to shut up. So so the Americans again, and this
(01:00:13):
was all predictable what was going to happen. And the
first two days the Americans just got skunk and I think,
you know, and our our guy, Beethoven, by the way,
was the only guy that won for the Euros on Sunday, Ludwig.
But again I was rooting for the Europs and it
had nothing to do with the American players. You know,
I have nothing against them. I felt bad for Scotti
(01:00:35):
because you know, he just had nothing, and then he
finally got a point on Sunday. But again it's it's
almost like this event has become like too much, Like
you know, let's let's all remember you can have fun
and yell and scream and root for the USA. But man,
it's GoF I mean Christ, But you know, did you
(01:00:56):
guys like it? I mean, did you guys like it?
Speaker 2 (01:00:58):
When you were watching fan I couldn't really tell what
the fans are doing on television.
Speaker 7 (01:01:03):
I mean I read all the stories, I knew what
they were doing.
Speaker 2 (01:01:05):
But it was the classic ugly Americans of twenty twenty five,
and they were unleased on the Long Island, on a
bunch of golfers that are just trying to have a competition.
Speaker 1 (01:01:15):
It was.
Speaker 5 (01:01:15):
It was pretty duk.
Speaker 7 (01:01:16):
I thought it was absurd on a lot of levels.
Speaker 5 (01:01:19):
I'm so glad they lost. Yeah, I was rooting for the.
Speaker 7 (01:01:21):
Euros a because Mike, you and I both picked them.
Speaker 2 (01:01:23):
They were I couldn't believe there were blogs which I
mean home field advantage.
Speaker 5 (01:01:28):
It's golf. That was a home field in golf that
means nothing in Ireland.
Speaker 3 (01:01:33):
They're going to be in Ireland and good luck and
US is not one over there since ninety three, So
good luck.
Speaker 2 (01:01:40):
Yeah, good luck, good luck to the US. But uh,
nine point thirty in London tomorrow? Is anybody cann score
in this game? Minnesota minus three and a half against
Cleveland with a rookie quarterback and Minnesota has Carson Wentz.
Cleveland's front four is just awesome. I mean, you can't
(01:02:02):
run on and you're gonna get sacked. Miles Garrett might
be the best player in football. He's a freak show.
But who knows what Dylan Gabriel is gonna do. Kevin
Stefanci's a good coach with the idiots for that are
running his organization. Clearly they have no idea what they're doing.
The other under here is like thirty five. I've never
(01:02:22):
seen a number of this Loanfo game. I mean, really,
if somebody scores like seventeen, aren't they like a sinse.
Speaker 11 (01:02:29):
In this game?
Speaker 3 (01:02:30):
Well here's here's the proassic the Viking. The Vikings offensive
line has like three starters out, correct, So you're throwing
this kid into play.
Speaker 8 (01:02:40):
The Cleveland's throwing the kid in the play.
Speaker 3 (01:02:42):
I'm sorry they're doing. See the vices are going with
that Carson Wentz Hall of Famer. But this isn't I mean,
this isn't like an unwatchable game. And I agree with you, Dick.
I mean this could be like that that Cleveland game
from a couple of weeks. Who was it thirteen to
ten against Green Bay?
Speaker 2 (01:02:58):
Right, who's gonna sclow?
Speaker 3 (01:03:00):
Who's going to stop.
Speaker 2 (01:03:02):
Nobody?
Speaker 3 (01:03:04):
Well, that's another question.
Speaker 5 (01:03:05):
Good players can't stop. It doesn't help that Carson Wentz
holds onto the ball way too long.
Speaker 2 (01:03:10):
Carson is gonna get the more he plays, the more
he gets exposed.
Speaker 3 (01:03:14):
And look, John, he might not make it. He might
not make it through that game.
Speaker 2 (01:03:17):
He might who's there? Who's their backup quarterback? Now that
do we know? Who's the next guy behind?
Speaker 3 (01:03:23):
Have no idea?
Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
Might be the coach. He used to be a quarterback.
Speaker 5 (01:03:26):
Put him in there.
Speaker 6 (01:03:28):
Oh man, wow, yeah, I forgot the former Minnesota quarterback
Max Brosmer.
Speaker 5 (01:03:33):
What who Max?
Speaker 8 (01:03:36):
He plays?
Speaker 5 (01:03:36):
He played at the U, he played at minute Yeah Minnesota.
Speaker 2 (01:03:40):
Wow, I never heard of him.
Speaker 5 (01:03:42):
He played really well in.
Speaker 8 (01:03:43):
The first season.
Speaker 3 (01:03:43):
So I love the Minnesota coach, I really do. But
Cleveland might be to play He's game. They might Now
they might be.
Speaker 7 (01:03:53):
Getting three and a half.
Speaker 6 (01:03:54):
Minnesota has been over there for a week, right, they
played in Dublins and don't turn the ball over like
Joe Flack it was, and they'll be fine. Yeah, I mean,
I just think Carson Wentz Halls onto the ball way
too long. You have a defensive line that gets after it.
Speaker 2 (01:04:05):
So I'm taking Cleveland with Mike. Yeah, we're taking unanimous
Cleveland plus three now.
Speaker 5 (01:04:11):
All right, So here we go.
Speaker 3 (01:04:12):
The final is going to be two nothing shock and
we're getting defensive lineman guy.
Speaker 2 (01:04:19):
And we're getting three and a half.
Speaker 8 (01:04:21):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (01:04:22):
Continue with at one o'clock games, New Orleans is a
favorite minus one and a half over the Giants.
Speaker 7 (01:04:27):
Now, New Orleans played really well at Buffalo last week.
Speaker 2 (01:04:30):
They were in the game, sort of deep into the
fourth court. I never thought they were gonna win it.
I didn't need him to win.
Speaker 7 (01:04:35):
Since I died Buffalo. In my Survivor pool.
Speaker 2 (01:04:38):
By the way, there's still seventy three out of one
hundred and six people left. That's before Thursday night. I
guess we lost a few on Thursday night. I would
have think the Rams would have been a play for
a lot of Survivor people on Thursday. But anyway, Kellen
Moore's team, other than the game at Seattle where they
got crushed, has been pretty competitive. And then the Giants
last week beat the Chargers and home with Jackson Dark.
(01:05:00):
Uh John, let's start with you two teams obviously not
making the playoffs going nowhere, but somebody that somebody because
because somebody's got.
Speaker 6 (01:05:11):
I guess like Dark played well, so it's that's something
to go off of here. He just lost his top
receiver though, that's a bro I don't know where to
where to go with this. I'm gonna I'm gonna take
the Saints at home, you're getting under three. So maybe
that's the one way of looking at it that maybe
the Giants aren't worth that half a point because they're
just as bad as the Saints are. But yeah, I
(01:05:33):
think that's it's kind of detrimental when you lose a
player like Elik Neighbors. And now Jackson Dart has to
go to his first road game after such an emotional,
big first win.
Speaker 5 (01:05:41):
So I think the Saints get their first win.
Speaker 2 (01:05:43):
Yeah, I actually I'm not gonna do it, but I
was considering the Saints and the survivor pool. I think
they're an absolute sension this game. A. They played well
in three of the four games. They're back. The Giants
finally won a game, and they're they're not just a
clown show up there. And Jackson Dart, Yeah, first game
on the road. I mean, he's played in the South, right,
he played in the Old Miss, He's played he played
(01:06:05):
in the SEC, so he's played in front of the
big crowds. I don't know, I there's gonna be any
kind of a crowd for this game, but I'd like
the job Kellen Moore has done so far. And New
Orleans can run and I think they'll run and keep running.
They were having a run on Buffalo last week. So
I like the Saints giving one and a half. Mike.
Speaker 3 (01:06:23):
Okay, I'm going to tell you this, and I don't
disagree with anything you guys have said. Spencer Rattler has
started ten games in the NFL. He's still looking for
his first win. Okay, he gotta come, that's right. I'm
just explained. He's two and eight against the spread. But
I agree with everything you guys said, and especially with
(01:06:43):
Neighbors being out. And I think the coach up to
New York is that he's the clown show. I think
he just he and that's the guy everybody wanted the
Eagles to hire. Yeah, they wanted the Eagles to hire
that guy. And remember, I agree with you guys. I
would take the Saints Rattler to get his first win
and Kellen Moore to get his first win.
Speaker 2 (01:07:03):
Spencer, just hand the ball, don't try to confuse anybody
here at the Meadowlands Dallas minus two and a half
against Yeah, they're zero and four again, new coach and
all New York Jets. Mike will start with you, Cowboy
Road favored. After the forty to forty dead heat on the.
Speaker 8 (01:07:23):
Yeah, but they're slight road fit right.
Speaker 3 (01:07:26):
Almost wanted. I almost want to take the Jets, I
really do. I almost want to take the Jets, but
I can't.
Speaker 2 (01:07:32):
What's the line one and a half minus two and
a half Dallas.
Speaker 3 (01:07:36):
I got to take the Cowboys. I mean, just on
the Doc wins games. I mean he does, he does.
You know, he doesn't win him in January, but he
wins games. And Dallas don't. They have to be the
better team here. I mean, the Jets running back is hurt.
I believe Fields can't throw, he can run. I got
to take the Cowboys.
Speaker 8 (01:07:56):
I hate doing that, but I got to.
Speaker 2 (01:07:58):
I think the best unit of the four here is
the Dallas offense. Dallas the yea is awful, but the
Jets is correct. The Jets are just I mean, come on,
Aaron Glenn, good luck to you. I'm rooting for you.
Speaker 7 (01:08:10):
You seem like a nice guy, but you're still coaching
the Jets.
Speaker 3 (01:08:12):
Hey, what's the what's the over undering this game? Because
this could be an over.
Speaker 2 (01:08:16):
Okay, fifty should be I was gonna say close to fifty.
I'll take d tell you what.
Speaker 3 (01:08:23):
The Cowboys will give up. The Cowboys will give up.
Even to the Jets, they'll give up twenty four to thirty.
Speaker 2 (01:08:29):
Yeah, I like Dak Prescott is a one of the
best regular season quarterbacks in the NFL. I got no
problem with him. He's given two and a half. The
Jets fans at halftime, if they're behind, will start putting
bags on their heads.
Speaker 6 (01:08:41):
I'll take the Cowboys. John Yeah, I hate that I'm
doing this. I'm going with the Jets. Oh no, he
face defense is horrible for Dallas.
Speaker 3 (01:08:52):
It is.
Speaker 6 (01:08:53):
It's gonna get him in a lot of bad spots.
It happened in against Chicago.
Speaker 3 (01:08:57):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (01:08:57):
And it's it's such a great win against Green Bay
and I think it just wasn't a win, but it wasn't.
Speaker 5 (01:09:03):
Yeah, it felt like a win.
Speaker 3 (01:09:04):
It was.
Speaker 6 (01:09:04):
It was a great game. Doubt Dak Prescott played a
phenomenal game. So I think Dak Prescott is playing unreal good.
He's a very talented quarterback. As you said, I think
one of the best regular season quarterbacks in the NFL
right now. But you can't win a week after week,
or or think you're going to win and win your
defense giving up that many points I'm going I'm going yet.
Speaker 2 (01:09:25):
The team that shall not be named in the state
Capitol of Indiana minus seven over Las Vegas, and on
general principles, i will take the Raiders plus the seven. Mike,
I'm going to go with you.
Speaker 3 (01:09:42):
I'm general principle. I like that.
Speaker 5 (01:09:47):
Yeah, they left my city.
Speaker 2 (01:09:50):
They're the team that shall not be named.
Speaker 6 (01:09:52):
I'll make you unanimous here. Max Crosby's playing great football.
I love it, and I think he's They're gonna Daniel
Jones not like you played completely hard carball. But the
turnover started happening last game. I think if Max Crosby
again starts causing havoc in the backfield that he can
maybe get a few more.
Speaker 3 (01:10:08):
Out of Dawn. So I like the We'll say this though,
gotta be fair here. That guy the team that you
will not name, he's doing a good job. I mean
it is.
Speaker 2 (01:10:17):
Yeah, they probably should No, they probably should have beaten
the Rams last week. I mean, they don't believe.
Speaker 3 (01:10:23):
I'm listening the other night after the San Francisco beats
the Rams, somebody was actually talking about Mac Jones taking
Brock Purdy's place. Yeah, a Mike losing my mind, like
he played it. The coach is wonderful. Not They just
gave back Purdy two hundred and fifty million dollars.
Speaker 2 (01:10:43):
Yeah, that's right, that's that's why they're gonna have Mac
Jones start when he's ready to come back. I'm sure
there's there's a number of scores the NFL, as Mike
points out regularly, that just you know, what the hell happened?
Speaker 7 (01:10:53):
The one score I haven't.
Speaker 2 (01:10:54):
Figured out yet?
Speaker 7 (01:10:55):
Carolina thirty Atlanta nothing.
Speaker 5 (01:10:58):
Yeah, how about national football?
Speaker 2 (01:11:00):
We had?
Speaker 11 (01:11:01):
Right?
Speaker 7 (01:11:01):
Where did that come from? They are now at home.
Speaker 2 (01:11:05):
They played Miami Miami minus one at Carolina looked much
better last week.
Speaker 7 (01:11:11):
And you know what, they haven't been horrible.
Speaker 2 (01:11:14):
They were competitive in Buffalo Miami I'm talking about Carolina
does nothing for me at all.
Speaker 3 (01:11:20):
Yeah, but they lost their best receiver too, No, I
got it.
Speaker 7 (01:11:23):
I mean about the Giants, and they were able to
win anyway.
Speaker 3 (01:11:28):
Uh but I like Miami and we like Miami. We
like Miami this, yeah we did.
Speaker 2 (01:11:33):
I think they're just better coached. Yeah, they want everybody
wants to fire the coach, but the coach has actually
done pretty well down there. All things considered.
Speaker 6 (01:11:42):
It's a horribly run team that just as I don't
they just talking about Carolina. I do want Carolina. That's
the one I was going to Miami side too. I
just think that's that there's not a lot of talent there.
Speaker 5 (01:11:53):
Carolina stakes they're terrible.
Speaker 6 (01:11:55):
I like them.
Speaker 3 (01:11:56):
I am here's a stack Carolina for whatever this is
has covered their last four after they following a loss.
So they lost last week, right Carolina? Yes, Okay, seven
and one in their last day following a loss. I'm
taking Carolina because I think Miami is about to implude.
I think the coach is going to get fired. I
(01:12:19):
just think it's a bad situation. But last week was
a good situation for them. That's where they were playing. Yeah,
they're in no man's land, like you know, and they
should be able to beat the Panthers. But I think
the Panthers is going to win that game.
Speaker 7 (01:12:34):
This is a spread that would have been incomprehensible.
Speaker 2 (01:12:37):
Like a week ago, Houston is minus two favorite at
Baltimore John Yours with Marcus Mariota, uh and the Ravens
who just looked horrible.
Speaker 6 (01:12:50):
Yeah, their defense is a huge problem. So like, can
they get after CJ. Strouded with a really bad offensive line?
Speaker 5 (01:13:00):
In front of c J.
Speaker 6 (01:13:00):
Stroud because if they can like that is ruined Houston
a bunch last year and it's ruining them ruining them
a bunch this year. But if they can't get to them, CJ.
Stroud can probably throw against this defense. And the one
thing Houston actually has is they have a very very
very good defense. Yes, so I think without Lamar, Jackson
and Ravens do have some problems here. I'm I'm going Houston.
Speaker 2 (01:13:22):
Yeah, Houston's got the best unit of the four with
no Lamar their defense, I'm passing this game. Ravens should
be embarrassed be one and three. I mean, come on,
are you sure? Are you serious? I can that be
with all that talent they have.
Speaker 3 (01:13:35):
Mike, Okay, here's a stat for this game. And again,
I think without Lamar, I don't know how you can
bet the game. But Texans are the only team in
the NFL that all Flourid games this year have been unders.
The Ravens are the only team in the NFL all
Florida games have been overs. So you can take that
(01:13:56):
for whatever you want. But who is the corner Who's
going to be the quarterback for the Ravens.
Speaker 7 (01:14:01):
I'm sorry, Cooper rush at Marcus Marriott was saying, Washington, all.
Speaker 3 (01:14:04):
He know is this if the Ravens. I mean, look,
they can still win that division. I mean, Pittsburgh is
is Pittsburgh. But they can't lose this game. And I
know what, I get it, but they really got to
win this game because the Texans aren't that good. They're good.
Texans are okay, but and I don't think Baltymore's defense
can win it.
Speaker 2 (01:14:25):
They're bad.
Speaker 8 (01:14:26):
The problem.
Speaker 3 (01:14:26):
I don't think their defense can come up big enough
and bad last year, Yes, yeah, you're you're right, Dick,
But two years ago, Dick, remember how they were. Defense
was two years.
Speaker 2 (01:14:37):
Ago and they had the best defensive football and imploded
against Kansas City.
Speaker 7 (01:14:42):
All right, I need it. I need a Survivor pool
pick from you guys this week.
Speaker 3 (01:14:47):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:14:48):
I have a thought, John, I'm curious, who do you
think I should go with? And I'm hoping a lot
of people wont with the Rams on Thursday. It's got
a mean Detroit's on the road, so I don't love it,
but Detroit maybe.
Speaker 7 (01:14:58):
They're an obvious one. Mike, you got a thought for
me on this one?
Speaker 3 (01:15:03):
Well, as many people probably.
Speaker 7 (01:15:05):
Went, I already. I already took Buffalo.
Speaker 3 (01:15:08):
I don't think as many people might have taken the
Rams as you think that. But maybe I'm looking at
it wrong. I didn't think that was such a like
a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:15:15):
Kind of things. They are hurt that people might take them.
Speaker 3 (01:15:18):
Yeah, No, you're right, You're right. I would do this
if I was you. If you really think, if you
really think the Lions are the obvious, don't don't fret
about it. Just take them and then deal with the
fact that you already took the Lions. Who did the
Lions get.
Speaker 7 (01:15:34):
They're at Cincinnati. Yeah, they so they're on the road.
Speaker 3 (01:15:37):
They're not losing that They're they're not losing that game.
Speaker 7 (01:15:40):
Yeah, I'll say this. I'd like to save them for later.
Speaker 2 (01:15:44):
Here's here's the team I know you would Arizona. Yeah,
Arizona giving seven and a half at home. Now, they
just got to win the game. Now, obviously are playing
to Tennessee.
Speaker 5 (01:15:53):
Tennessee.
Speaker 2 (01:15:54):
That's the reason it's not Tennessee terrible.
Speaker 3 (01:15:58):
I'm going to give you. I'm going to give you
a Tennessee under Callahan. Yeah, three and eighteen against the spread.
It's the worst Fer Bowl in the Super Bowl era
the H three eighteen.
Speaker 7 (01:16:14):
That's impossible.
Speaker 3 (01:16:15):
Yeah, take the Cardens.
Speaker 8 (01:16:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:16:18):
To me, I want to get Arizona because that's a
team I don't want to be playing them later in
the year.
Speaker 8 (01:16:22):
And I still hear it.
Speaker 5 (01:16:24):
I took the Ravens and the only game they've won.
Speaker 7 (01:16:27):
I've used the Ravens, I've used the Bills, I've used Seattle.
Speaker 2 (01:16:31):
I haven't used the Eagles yet. I'm waiting for like
the home game against the Giants. You know, it's something new,
whether they can't possibly lose. I haven't taken Kansas City yet. Uh,
there's a number of I haven't taken the Rams or
the Chargers or Detroit.
Speaker 7 (01:16:46):
So I got some teams left that I can use.
Speaker 3 (01:16:47):
And I will tell you this, Dick. Yeah, the Liones
because we'll get to that game. They were eleven and two.
Is a road favorite since twenty twenty three.
Speaker 8 (01:16:56):
That's pretty good, very impressive. That worked pretty good.
Speaker 2 (01:17:00):
Yeah, four o'clock games. We'll start in Seattle. Seattle minus
three and a half over Tampa Bay.
Speaker 8 (01:17:07):
Uh, those are the good games.
Speaker 11 (01:17:08):
It is.
Speaker 6 (01:17:09):
What a fun, fun story of this game of Sam
Darnold Baker Mayfield, both being in Carolina and what's happened
everything after Carolina didn't want.
Speaker 2 (01:17:17):
Either one of them.
Speaker 3 (01:17:18):
I'll tell you what in the NFCCA Eagle fans are
you know, you're you're trying to see how the NFC
is going to go because obviously you've got to get
through the NFC because you're a big game in the
NFC camp in Seattle. Both seem like they could be
playoff teams.
Speaker 2 (01:17:33):
Absolutely.
Speaker 3 (01:17:33):
I don't know how good they are, but you know,
one of these team is going to lose today and
I think if it's Campa, it would have three losses, right.
Speaker 6 (01:17:42):
Correct, they are both three and one, both three and one.
Speaker 3 (01:17:48):
I think I think Seattle is pretty good football team.
I really do.
Speaker 2 (01:17:53):
I concur with that. I would say this Seattle's issue
is a division they're in right because there it's just
like it's a very good division where Tampa doesn't have
that problem. They're in a they're in a second division
right with its in Atlanta Carolina. Who else is in
that s right there?
Speaker 6 (01:18:15):
I mean there they can win the division by the fall.
Uh oh, no, I forgotten you world.
Speaker 3 (01:18:20):
Okay, how about just stat how about this stuff with
the Baker Mayfield Baker Mayfield with Baker Mayfield. The Bucks
are eleven four after a loss against this Craig.
Speaker 2 (01:18:32):
That's that's a lot.
Speaker 5 (01:18:33):
So Evans, what do we know now out?
Speaker 3 (01:18:39):
Yeah? I think he's out for like three or four weeks.
Speaker 2 (01:18:41):
Okay. I didn't like Tampa Bay's offense against the Eagles defense.
Sattle defense is not that good, but they're good. That's
a terrific coach. That's a coach farl coach. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:18:51):
I'll take Seattle minus.
Speaker 2 (01:18:52):
To three and a half. I'll try to beat Mike's
number there. John, did you have a pick of that mission?
Speaker 6 (01:18:56):
Yeah, I think because Tampa Bay's offense has been a
bit erradic, Yep, it's just injuries. They finally got Chris
Godwin back. It's been good, but they've been very reliant
on the rookie wide receiver. He's been great, but still
one guy, and they're without Buckie Irving, who's been really
the engine of their offense.
Speaker 2 (01:19:10):
You got hurt.
Speaker 6 (01:19:10):
So yeah, I'm gonna go Seattle, and I think Sam
Darnold has actually gotten more comfortable week after week in
this offense. He has a seventy percent of police percentage
with five touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (01:19:19):
Two packs.
Speaker 5 (01:19:19):
I'll take that all day with six.
Speaker 3 (01:19:21):
I will take the Bucks only because every Buccaneer game
goes down to a field goal.
Speaker 2 (01:19:25):
Yes, they all do at last one before we get
to the break, and then we'll get to the other
four games. And I need to mention this to the
Eagles are Thursday night next week at Giants their favorite
at bet Parks at the moment, by seven and a half.
If you want to get in now. When the Giants
get him get crushed by New Orleans tomorrow, it will
(01:19:46):
go up Arizona minus seven and a half over Tennessee,
which if they're If.
Speaker 7 (01:19:51):
Tennessee isn't the worst team in football, they're in the haunt.
Speaker 2 (01:19:55):
They probably are.
Speaker 3 (01:19:58):
Callahan eighteen.
Speaker 7 (01:20:00):
They're poorly coached, they don't have any good players. Uh
cam Ward is a nice.
Speaker 2 (01:20:07):
Kid, but no jam they're ruining him right, it's a disaster.
I'll take Arizona. Arizona actually has weapons, they have guys
that can play. They're solid, they're two and two. They
could be even better than that. They lost a close
game to Seattle. I need Arizona and I'm taking them
in my pool tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (01:20:24):
John, Yeah, I think that's the right thing to do,
just because ye and look him Ward called out his
entire team, and I think his coach afterwards or like
during the week, was like, oh, we got to do
better at messaging. That's a that's the right message about
cam Woard. Yeah, the messages we are playing. No, they're
a bad football team, but we're playing worse than a
bad football team.
Speaker 3 (01:20:42):
Well, I will say this, the Cardinals are the Cardinals
are a team to use Dick's words, that irritates me.
Speaker 2 (01:20:48):
Oh yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 3 (01:20:50):
If they don't. If the Cardinals can't win this game
right comfortably, something's wrong. If this is like a three
point game with two minutes to go, the Cardinals just
get I think they're.
Speaker 2 (01:21:04):
Winning this game like thirty one to ten. That's how
I see this game.
Speaker 3 (01:21:07):
I think. I think you're right.
Speaker 2 (01:21:09):
I mean, look, they had the best player in the
game in Kyler Murray. And these are the kind of
teams he hammers.
Speaker 6 (01:21:13):
Yeah, and there their defense is not batter deftly sucks,
it's solid and I think it can do well.
Speaker 7 (01:21:18):
Yeah, they have by far the tennis players.
Speaker 3 (01:21:21):
I don't like playing a touchdown with the Cardinals. No,
I never.
Speaker 7 (01:21:25):
I don't know if they cover or not. Alls I
named do is win Mike, get me a week six.
Speaker 2 (01:21:30):
I think lose a few people this week we have

John Jansen here at the sportsbook. Mike karn is joining
us on the phone. Kyle is off this week. John,
you have a soccer thought for tonight? What do we
got I do?
Speaker 6 (01:23:44):
So even with I think another game left and in
the season. The Philadelphia Union have a chance tonight against
NYCFC to actually quinch the Supporter Shield, which is the
most points in soccer in MLS. So they have sixty
three points right now, when would get him sixty six,
So they would end up quinching the Supporter Shield if
they did that. It has been like a wild, wildly
(01:24:07):
phenomenal season for them. They basically gutted almost their entire attack.
They lost Daniel Gaisdag who's been not only their best player,
but one of the best players in all of Major
League Soccer. They lost to Uliam Caranza earlier, who is
now in Leicester City like playing soccer there. So like
a pretty not a prominent European team, but still like that. Yeah,
(01:24:27):
in the EPL they got regulated, they're probably gonna go
back the reless season gone, but still like the really
good players that you lost. They saw have mikil Ouwa there,
but it's it's ty Barrabou who's been the backbone of
that team. Now, they did lose Quinn Sullivan just towards
ACL last week and he's out for the year. So
that is an unfortunate loss because it's really great. He's
been a great young player for them for a few years.
Speaker 2 (01:24:47):
John.
Speaker 5 (01:24:47):
But yeah, they they've been awesome.
Speaker 2 (01:24:49):
If they have the most points when the playoffs start,
well that give them a home field.
Speaker 5 (01:24:53):
Or they'll be they'll be home.
Speaker 2 (01:24:54):
So they would if they got to the championship game then.
Speaker 5 (01:24:57):
Yeah, I think the MLS playoffs too, they would get
a buye in the first.
Speaker 7 (01:25:00):
Okay, all right, so there we go. And speaking of football, are.
Speaker 3 (01:25:03):
They playing Liverpool? Are they playing Liverpool anytime soon?
Speaker 2 (01:25:07):
They are not.
Speaker 7 (01:25:07):
And Liverpool had a bad week.
Speaker 2 (01:25:09):
Man, they lost their first team game and then they
lost in Istanbul one mil to some squad I never
heard of the other day. And here's the problem that
they're in the Champions League. It's second game in the
Champions League. It's the Turkish champions. They're pretty good. I
mean I watched the game. They're good. Paramount.
Speaker 7 (01:25:30):
I had to sign up the Paramount now to watch Liverpool.
Speaker 3 (01:25:34):
Can't.
Speaker 2 (01:25:35):
I can't. I'll be canceling as soon as it's over.
But yeah, they they had a tough week and they're
at Chelsea today twelve thirty on NBC. That's a big game.
Chelsea's pretty good. They need to win a p again.
The problem is Liverpool has the best players, but they
went out and signed a lot of free agents. It
would be that I don't even know what you're calling
over their transfer whatever that nonsense is. They're not quite
(01:25:58):
on the same page like their main guy. Verts looks terrible,
Verts or however they're saying. And the Germany looks lost.
He's a twenty two year old. He's confused.
Speaker 9 (01:26:07):
But give it time.
Speaker 2 (01:26:09):
My boys will win everything before the season's over, the PL,
EPL and the Champions League. Mark it up. I told
you right now. It's basically over on with the rest
of the NFL games at so far, LA Chargers minus
three against Washington with Jayden Daniels Ezrik is returning, correct,
Is that correct? John? Your thoughts are the Chargers giving
(01:26:31):
a field goal to the Commander.
Speaker 6 (01:26:34):
It is great to have Jade Daniels back, a very
good quarterback, we think, very good young quarterback, definitely better
than Marcus Mariota. But they're banged up on offense and
they still don't have Terry McLaurin, which is his favorite receiver.
Speaker 5 (01:26:49):
Yep, I'm gonna go to the Chargers here.
Speaker 6 (01:26:52):
Chargers bounce back after NFL type loss, just weird game
against New York or the Giants thought Herbert played well.
Him and Quinton Johnston have been awesome together and they
came up with a big play last week.
Speaker 2 (01:27:05):
Again.
Speaker 6 (01:27:05):
Yeah, so I'm gonna I'm gonna go la here. I
think that they bounce back. They played well defensively, justin
Herbert still playing at a pretty high level.
Speaker 5 (01:27:13):
So I'll take the Charger.
Speaker 11 (01:27:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:27:14):
I thought Washington was always not going to be as
good as I mean, they were overachieved last year, winning
all those games in the last minute. Chargers at home
or probably have the better players, especially given washington injury issues. Yeah,
I'll go with you. I'll take the Chargers minus three.
Speaker 3 (01:27:28):
Mike. Chargers better not lose his game because they as
john said, they had an NFL lost last week. It
happens every week, we see it. But the Chargers got
to be the better team because Kayden hasn't played in
a couple of weeks. I don't know what you said
that Washington's banged up a little bit. This line should
be higher, and I think if the Chargers are not
lost last week, the sne would have been four and
(01:27:50):
a half. Whatever, you got to take the Chargers because
I mean, if if I'm John Hardball, I mean Jim Harball,
you can't lose this game. Teams traveling all the way,
crawl the country, you got to you gotta win this game.
Speaker 11 (01:28:01):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (01:28:04):
The biggest favorite of the week is a road favorite,
Detroit minus ten and a half at Cincinnati, and Jake
Browning has been a nightmare.
Speaker 5 (01:28:13):
He's just been good with that with those receivers.
Speaker 7 (01:28:15):
Unfortunately, how can you be that bad with those receivers?
Speaker 2 (01:28:19):
He's been horrible.
Speaker 5 (01:28:19):
It's hard to do.
Speaker 2 (01:28:20):
Yeah, Detroit, that obviously. The first game at Green Bay
was an aberration. They don't need the coordinators, they just
need the guys that they have on the team. They
can put up forty on anybody. And Cincinnati's defense, I
think they're better than last year, but they still stink.
And they didn't even they were a complete no show
in their last game.
Speaker 7 (01:28:39):
I mean it was like they didn't even want to
be there. It was pathetic.
Speaker 6 (01:28:43):
So I'm taking Detroit minus ten and a half. John,
I am taking Detroit minus ten and a half. Their
offense is on an absolute tear right now.
Speaker 2 (01:28:52):
Yep.
Speaker 6 (01:28:53):
Fifty two points, thirty eight points, thirty four in their
last three games.
Speaker 2 (01:28:57):
That is serious.
Speaker 5 (01:28:58):
That is seriously good football.
Speaker 6 (01:29:00):
So whatever you thought about the offensive coordinator being gone
does not matter. There is so much talent there in
Cincinnati's defense. It has not been good since Joe Burrow
has been there. It's worse now. It's bad now, and
they don't have Joe Burrow.
Speaker 3 (01:29:14):
So you should never lay this much in the NFL
on the road or maybe, but they're eleven and two
in their last thirteen road games since twenty twenty three.
You can't bet the Bengals. So yeah, Bians go, They'll
they'll score forty.
Speaker 2 (01:29:32):
Eight twenty Tomorrow night, Sunday Night football Buffalo, which is
really had the easiest schedule other than the Ravens, which
is the game they stole minus eight against improved New England.
But are they improved enough that they can keep this
game close? Mike, I got it.
Speaker 3 (01:29:51):
I got numbers for you.
Speaker 2 (01:29:52):
Numbers.
Speaker 3 (01:29:53):
The Pats have covered the last four meetings between these
two teams, two of them they've won outright as doll.
So what is the line I'm doing?
Speaker 2 (01:30:02):
What was one of them?
Speaker 5 (01:30:03):
Buffalo?
Speaker 2 (01:30:04):
What is the line I'm doing with your minus eight?
Speaker 3 (01:30:07):
Yeah? Yeah, and it's a Buffalo.
Speaker 2 (01:30:10):
Correct.
Speaker 3 (01:30:12):
Yeah, yeah, my gut would tell me to take Buffalo,
but I think I would stay away from it that.
I don't think New England's going to go there and
win the game. I can't. I don't see that happening. Yeah,
but again, if I was going to play aside, I
would probably take Buffalo.
Speaker 2 (01:30:28):
I'll take New England plus the points. I just think
Buffalo is there. You go, I'm so average.
Speaker 3 (01:30:33):
Uh there, You're right, You're absolutely right.
Speaker 7 (01:30:36):
And look, I love Josh Allen, love their offense.
Speaker 2 (01:30:38):
They'll score. But I think New England has a chance
to stay within a John.
Speaker 6 (01:30:44):
I think New England does have a chance. I do
feel like everybody's kind of feeling themselves a little bit
too much with the way New England beat Carolina. That
was just Carolina imploding. I don't know New England's all
there yet. On offense, there's still not a lot of
great receivers. Stefan Diggs their leading receiver, and I still
don't think he looks all that good. Looks like he
still he'd lost a step. But Drake may is playing
(01:31:06):
good football, so I will give him that. So New
England's not a completely bad team like Rabel's coaching them. Well,
like there's some things to work on in Carolina, there's
just not enough offense. So I'm I'm going to go Buffalo.
I don't love it, though, Monday night football. This game
is absolutely fascinating. Now, you wouldn't have thought that when
you looked at it on the schedule. Originally Kansas City
(01:31:27):
and obviously their demise was greatly exaggerated at Jacksonville, which.
Speaker 2 (01:31:31):
Is three and one and one at San Francisco. You
had the head coach getting in a battle with Robert
Sala after the game. The whole thing was just wild.
But Jacksonville finally seems to have some Jews. But they
got a coach right there, they have a coach. They're
they're playing against still to me, one of the best
(01:31:51):
defenses in football, and with a rejuvenated offense, I mean,
they look like like again, the Ravens.
Speaker 5 (01:31:58):
Were horrible, but that was still they spread out of
his mind much.
Speaker 2 (01:32:01):
Better in that game. Kansas City's giving three and a half. John,
you're a Jaguars expert on this panel.
Speaker 6 (01:32:09):
What do you think the great thing last week? No turnovers?
That is the best thing they can do, and they
really just it's it's not just turnovers. Turnovers are the
biggest one, but they didn't make that many small mistakes.
They were playing great defensively. Their corners have been good,
their secondary has so YEP. I think Kansas City yet
looked great last week, but I still don't think it's
(01:32:29):
all fixed. They're not just worthy came back and now
all of a sudden their wide receiver group's good.
Speaker 5 (01:32:33):
I don't think it is.
Speaker 6 (01:32:34):
And I actually do think Jacksonville's defense can play well
in this game, and they could run the ball. I
do think we're kind of waiting for the passing game
to finally explode and have its really big game with
Liam Cohen as head coach, and I think we're going
to get that very soon because it seems like they're
making adjustments based off of how Brian Thomas Junior has
been playing. Parker Roshington has been really good for him.
But the run game has been great, and I think
(01:32:55):
they worked very well off of play action in this game.
Speaker 5 (01:32:58):
I like Jacksonville interesting four.
Speaker 7 (01:33:00):
Units in the game. I think Kansas City defense is
the best of the four.
Speaker 3 (01:33:04):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:33:04):
I will take Kansas City on the road. I think
they're playing better this is a for Trevor Lawrence at
this stage of his career. Now, he's been in some
significant games, but this looks like a really big moment
for him. Can he do it Monday Nights Football against
the the team over the last five or six years
in the NFL. I think it's a real proving ground
(01:33:25):
for him and what his NFL future is and where
this goes. But until prove it otherwise, I'll take the
team that's done it over and over a Cannicut under
the bright lights. Good Mike.
Speaker 3 (01:33:36):
This is the biggest game Jacksonville's played since win.
Speaker 8 (01:33:40):
I know they were gonna play a few years ago.
Speaker 2 (01:33:43):
Yeah, went to Kansas, thrilled they were winning that champions No,
but didn't they go to the AFC Championship game like
five years ago?
Speaker 8 (01:33:52):
They were beating the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (01:33:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:33:55):
Uh, they were beating the Patriots.
Speaker 6 (01:33:57):
The Patriots, they actually had a chance to play the
Eagles in Yes, they did seventeen.
Speaker 3 (01:34:03):
So it's been that long ago. Well but again, this
to me, I know Patrick Mahomes is showing up. Okay,
because last week I agree with John. I don't think
you know one week turns everything around. I don't. But
they have the pedigree. Is the moment too big for Jacksonville?
You know, if the moment is not too big for Jacksonville,
they obviously have a chance to win this game. And
(01:34:23):
I think it's but I'm with Thick. It's the Chiefs.
I'm going with the Chiefs and their form one in
their last five is as favorites. But we know that.
I mean, we know who the Chiefs are. It's not
like this is like a big secret. This to me,
not just for the quarterback in Jacksonville, but the team
as a whole. Go out, make it a game to
(01:34:45):
the last minute or two. It just show me what
you got, whether you win or or whatever. And I
want to see it. I want to see it.
Speaker 2 (01:34:52):
All right, So a couple of thoughts before we get
out of here. We're asking before Mike, You're asking Penn
State's schedule Northwestern at Iowa, then back to back Ohiose
at Ohio State, Indiana home.
Speaker 5 (01:35:08):
Yeah, they have a bye week before Ohio State, Right.
Speaker 2 (01:35:10):
They got a bye week, and obviously they have a
bye week this week against Jucila. Also, see he was
paying attention to sports in general at the moment. Who
is the biggest fraud in sports at the moment, and
this should be very obvious if people are paying attention.
Speaker 3 (01:35:32):
Can I get a game?
Speaker 2 (01:35:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:35:34):
Yeah, I guess I need a football.
Speaker 8 (01:35:36):
There's a lot of frauds football.
Speaker 2 (01:35:40):
Okay, biggest fraud college football, James Try.
Speaker 3 (01:35:45):
Oh geez, okay, hold on, this is not Home Georgia.
Speaker 2 (01:35:53):
Georgiaston person human being.
Speaker 8 (01:35:59):
I oh oh oh, what are you people do?
Speaker 5 (01:36:03):
Arts manning Bill Belichick? I was gonna say, Bill, why
didn't I say it?
Speaker 2 (01:36:09):
Come on?
Speaker 5 (01:36:10):
That's great?
Speaker 3 (01:36:12):
Women? Did you see the line today? He's getting fourteen
from Clemson at home? Don't you have to take Clemson?
I know Clemson's been not Clemson, but isn't going to
roll it up on him?
Speaker 6 (01:36:24):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:36:25):
Absolutely, He's a rolling up on somebody.
Speaker 2 (01:36:27):
Yeah, I mean, Clemson's not gonna be good. I mean,
but this old Belichick thing, this was so obvious. I
can't believe the people in.
Speaker 5 (01:36:35):
North Carolina are just that clues he's sealing money totally.
Speaker 3 (01:36:40):
They were just looking to old North Carolina. Look, I
understand you're North Carolina. You haven't been relevant in a while,
and I know they had a couple of good years
with what's his name.
Speaker 12 (01:36:48):
They just did this to get the publicity North Carolina
football's got in the last six months, and then once
it sits in that you stink and the.
Speaker 3 (01:37:00):
People start going away from you or doing what you're doing,
which is correct, he's saying he's a fraud. Yeah, then
they'll sit there after the season and go, what did
we do?
Speaker 5 (01:37:08):
The pep of the donut?
Speaker 7 (01:37:09):
North Carolina is two and two.
Speaker 2 (01:37:12):
They lost the TCU and forty eight to fourteen, when
the whole world was watching and got embarrassed.
Speaker 8 (01:37:17):
You call that one, you had that one.
Speaker 2 (01:37:18):
That was the easiest call to you. Uh. They won
at Charlotte, which is just awful, twenty to three. Twenty
told you something. They beat Richmond at home forty one
to six, and then UCF just annihilated him in Orlando
last week thirty four to nine. And now here's here's
their schedule the rest of the way after today, Clemson
(01:37:40):
and two touchdown Dog at Cal late Friday night game
Virginia and at Syracuse, Stanford at home at Wake, Duke
at home at NC State.
Speaker 7 (01:37:53):
I'm predicting they do not win more than two of
those games.
Speaker 3 (01:37:57):
They might not win in and you know what, there
ya to be honest with you, that's not like a
big time schedule. I mean, you're not playing like notre
game and again. But the first year, it's almost like
when Dion, when Dion went to Colorado and Colorader who
did it for the same reasons we're gonna bring.
Speaker 8 (01:38:16):
But he had his star players and he.
Speaker 3 (01:38:18):
Does and now that he has no players, they stink
again because I mean, you know that's what happens.
Speaker 7 (01:38:25):
Look, Michae Lombardi is a general manager.
Speaker 2 (01:38:28):
I know Mike is. He's a good guy.
Speaker 8 (01:38:29):
I've spent time with him.
Speaker 7 (01:38:30):
A smart guy, but he's a smart NFL guy.
Speaker 2 (01:38:33):
Now all of a sudden, he has been coming in
here late and now they're trying to grab guys out
of the portal. They don't even know who they're looking at.
If it was the NFL, that'd be one.
Speaker 6 (01:38:42):
Yeah, I forgot that Ron Rivera was a GM too,
Like Andrew Luckett Stanton bringing we're absolutely keeping our quarterback.
No you're not, brother, No, that guy's gone gone.
Speaker 2 (01:38:53):
Yeah, somebody's gonna outbid you. Trust me. All right ahead, Mike,
We're gonna.
Speaker 3 (01:39:01):
Look at this game today with with with Clemson. What
he's one to three, right, and he wants to beat
bill by fifty.
Speaker 2 (01:39:10):
Absolutely, yeah, and North Carolina their bad. The fans are
gonna be booing, They're gonna be putting bags over their heads.
And if Clemson loses this game next week, my biggest
wrong will be Dabo ahead of that is correct, Mike,
You'll be right now. You'll be happy to know that
while you were in Kansas City, your NBA team has
(01:39:31):
been in Abu Dhabi playing the Knicks. I saw that
they lost the opener. They play again tomorrow, Shawn, Is
that correct?
Speaker 9 (01:39:38):
Actually in about ten minutes here that Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:39:41):
I'm going home on NBA TV, I'm gonna DVR this game.
I'm gonna just watch it over and over again, right, Sir,
Sean tell us about the opener? Grimes is now signed,
who's playing, who's hurt? What the hell is going on?
Speaker 3 (01:39:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (01:39:53):
Not a lot to take in from preseason so far.
Speaker 11 (01:39:55):
No dwelling bid, no Paul George, no Jad McCain, no
Quinton Grimes, no trending wife. But there was a basketball
game played in that In that specific basketball game, the
Sixers shot a grand total of eight point six percent
from beyond the three point arc, and we're out rebounded
by twelve rebounds. Not gonna win a lot of basketball
games playing that way. I guess the positives to take
away Tyrese Maxie looked like Tyrese Maxie.
Speaker 9 (01:40:16):
I thought VJ.
Speaker 11 (01:40:17):
Edge com not just flashed the athleticisms athleticism we all know,
but showed a little smoothness, a little basketball field that
I was encouraged by. But ultimately it was a little
bit of just getting the feet wet kind of game.
There not a ton to take away.
Speaker 2 (01:40:29):
So when you say eight point six percent three for
what three.
Speaker 9 (01:40:33):
For thirty five, it was.
Speaker 5 (01:40:36):
You could do better than I would like.
Speaker 3 (01:40:40):
Temple back in the Bruise Brothers days or whatever, you
wouldn't notice. But like thirty five years ago, Temple shot
like twenty percent from two John John change teams never
shot eight percent.
Speaker 9 (01:40:52):
Yeah, it's hard to do it, honestly, is hard to do.
Speaker 2 (01:40:54):
Yeah, you gotta be well. It was in Houston in
the game seven at one time they went over like
a hundred.
Speaker 11 (01:41:00):
It against Yeah, oh for twenty seven I think it
was was it Golden State? Golden State that was in
Game seven of the Western Conference Finals at home. Yeah,
in the prime James Harden years.
Speaker 2 (01:41:11):
Bob hard for twenty seven. Da, what are we doing?
Not good for twenty seven? Igot about that? Oh yeah,
that was legend That was a legendary. But they kept
firing and what's the common denominator, the general master of
both teams?
Speaker 5 (01:41:24):
Oh yeah, sorry, So give us some hope, Sean, what
do we got here?
Speaker 9 (01:41:31):
Edgecombe?
Speaker 11 (01:41:31):
I'll take as a positive the fact that they have
Grimes back is a good thing. It is just one year,
and I know people are frustrated by that, but I
kind of respect the staring contest that Daryl Moorey decided
to look down here. At the end of the day,
they can pick up negotiations next year. It's all theoretical
if this team can get healthy, which is going to
be the if they're right there in the mix for
the Eastern Conference.
Speaker 9 (01:41:51):
But we just need some semblance of hope that could
be possible.
Speaker 8 (01:41:54):
So what prediction Grinds.
Speaker 3 (01:41:57):
Grinds is gone. He will never sign because Star Morey
he hated this whole process thing, and that's whatever.
Speaker 11 (01:42:05):
I also just think it's a bigger risk on Grimes's
part here because you're signing up for a one year
prove it deal to play on a team that already
has Maxie McCain and Edgecomb. So while like there are
some feelings that got involved here, I think like this
is more harmful to him than it is the Sixers.
Speaker 2 (01:42:19):
Interesting, So if we heard anything about when mbid or
George might return to playing.
Speaker 11 (01:42:27):
Basketball, nothing outside of the normal script of their you know,
ramping up, going through workouts on court. There was an
encouraging report of MBA going through so much. Yeah and
b they're both doing contact, which is a positive update now,
but as far as timelines, nothing's been announced.
Speaker 3 (01:42:45):
When was the surgery April? Yeah, the surgery was in April.
It's October. That's four months, five months, May, June, July, August, September,
five month. And this is where we're at.
Speaker 8 (01:42:59):
Jesus.
Speaker 9 (01:43:01):
Yeah, not great.
Speaker 2 (01:43:02):
It's a sixer. When does the does anybody know when
do the Flyers start?
Speaker 3 (01:43:05):
Do they?
Speaker 2 (01:43:05):
I know they have an Exhivision game today. They start soon.
Speaker 5 (01:43:10):
It's like we got to be so they've been playing
some preseason for a while now.
Speaker 2 (01:43:13):
All right, good luck to my man Jonesy. We're rooting
for him.
Speaker 7 (01:43:16):
So Eagles tomorrow at one.
Speaker 2 (01:43:18):
But the good news is there's not a lot of
really good college football games tonight, So a lot of
eyes are going to be turned to TVs.
Speaker 6 (01:43:24):
Yes with the Dodgers, I got, I got all my
eyes on the A c S today. Obviously play on baseball,
but the A S has some really good games. Duke
and col Is, that's an underrated one. But Virginia and
Louisville they could be playing for a playoff spot in
the a SEC champions.
Speaker 2 (01:43:38):
They're not playing for a playoff spot. Louisville is going
to annihilate Virginia to tell you the same thing.
Speaker 5 (01:43:43):
I look, I agree, what is going on here? Jeff
browm is going to run.
Speaker 3 (01:43:51):
If Phillies are playing the Dodgers, to know the two
best teams made. Nothing else is relevant.
Speaker 2 (01:43:57):
I hate to break it to you, but we just
spent two hours talking about stuff. You're telling me nothing.
Speaker 5 (01:44:01):
We said it was relevance. Get out of here.
Speaker 3 (01:44:03):
No, for Austin Philadelphie, that is the most relevant thing.
Speaker 2 (01:44:08):
Where are you gonna be next week, Abu Dobby Arena,
I'll be sitting next to you. He's back. Oh, it's
back from Kansas City, Abu Dabby Michael Joy alive.
Speaker 3 (01:44:22):
Good.
Speaker 2 (01:44:23):
You got to see you, my man. All we got
to get out of here, but before we do. Uh,
are you aware John Jansen that there's always another way
to win?
Speaker 3 (01:44:33):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (01:44:33):
Yeah, and I know where when the bet.
Speaker 2 (01:44:35):
Parks are like Casito in sportsbook app. Bet Parks is
the only app that John and I ever recommend. Baseball

Los Angeles tonight. Sanchez and Otani are the pitchers tonight.

both squads. Plus college football all day and night Today
Sunday Pro Football, the Birds are four and a half
(01:44:57):
point favorites hosting Denver. Over under total is forty three
and a half points.
