Speaker 2 (01:07):
All right, So when I opened the show last Saturday,
there was all this hope the Phillies were about to
start the playoffs, the Eagles were undefeated. Liverpool was playing
that afternoon. My Maryland Terps are playing that afternoon. Penn
State was a big favorite, the Phillies that night, the
Eagles the next day, Phillies again the following Thursday, the

(01:31):
Eagles the following Thursday.

Speaker 5 (01:33):
And it's all gone up in smoke.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Every bit of it, a total wipeout. And I'll start
from the beginning by Liverpool boys lose three games in
a week, which is impossible, including two on goals and
stoppage time.

Speaker 5 (01:48):
My Terps are up twenty to nil on Washington, lose.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Penn State somehow loses to UCLA is a twenty five
point favorite. The Phillies have at lead in Game one
against the Dodgers, three nothing, as I recall, and the
next thing, you know, they lose, and you know the
rest of that story. And then we get to Sunday
when I'm live in my survivor pool and I have
the Arizona Cardinals who lead twenty one to three and

(02:17):
then twenty one to six, and my man, I don't
remember the guy's name. The running back Decado de Marcado
is running for a seventy five yard touchdown, except according
to the referees. He decides to drop the ball at
the one inch line. Actually I think he crased. I
thought he crossed the crawl.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
But whatever.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Then and then somehow Tennessee, which hasn't scored on anybody,
runs down the field and scores misses the extra point.
They're down by nine, and then they go down the
field again. They throw a pick and only Arizona could
have an interception, and then kick the ball into their
own end zone and Tennessee scores are down twenty one

(02:54):
to nineteen. You know the right.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
I've never seen a team actively try and not score
touchdowns and then give the team another touch Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:59):
I mean it was a game you couldn't lose.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
I lost.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
I'm out of the pool.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (03:03):
And then the Phillies Kyle Schwarmer.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
It's one of the longest home runs you'll ever hit
see in your life. They get life going into Thursday night.
And it's a tense game. It's a fun game to watch.
It's fascinating, and it ends when the relief pitcher forgets
something that you're taught in the Little league. When you
catch the ball with the bases loaded, you take your

(03:27):
time and you throw the ball to first, instead you
threw it over Ria Muto's head. Phillies are out And
that was right before halftime of the Eagles game, which
I was watching on my phone. And then I turned
to the Eagles game and they get not only lose
to the Giants, but they get physically beaten up by

(03:47):
the New York Giants.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
Mike Current said he was going to talk for the
entire two hours.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
We'll let him go.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Start off, as I set the table, Mike, you're beside
your son that said you're done.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
I don't think that's gonna be.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
There's so many that are going to die.

Speaker 6 (04:04):
Well, first of all, as it turns out this year,
and it may not be over. I mean, I'm not
gonna sit here and say they're not gonna be good
next year or a year after or whatever you're talking to.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
Philip Phillis.

Speaker 6 (04:15):
I'm sorry, sorry, Phills, but as it turns out right now,
as we sit here not knowing what's going to happen,
the highlight of their era was Game three of the
Houston Series. Yeah, I mean, five home runs they win.
Everybody's popped up. It's been and as Dick texted me
the other night, eleven wins that year in the playoffs eight,

(04:37):
the next one and one, the last two years, two
and six in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Last year six out of seven home games, two and eight,
if you want to cut the last.

Speaker 6 (04:49):
Okay, yeah, yeah, but they won games in between then
the wives counting those last two, I thought it was six.
I thought that was six or seven, but I could
be wrong. It's a bad, big good the last four years.
The game that they've lost, the last game, they've scored one, two,
one and one runs. And we predicted this two months ago.

(05:11):
It was because until they didn't do it. Their pitching
in this series was sick without Wheel and the Dodgers
pitching look was very good. But we've seen that before.
Otani won for eighteen or whatever. It's just like anybody
that didn't see this coming just doesn't get it. Their
first three hitters have not come to the at least.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
The last two years. Maybe I'd have to go back.

Speaker 6 (05:36):
I know the last two games the Arizona series had
a good Game three and they won. Amazing when they hit,
but again they either have a bad Yeah, but when
did they hit in this series?

Speaker 3 (05:48):
Not well, when he hit this series, not the Mets series.

Speaker 6 (05:51):
But I'm saying they do all I ever hear them
say we're gonna rake.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
They don't wake anymore.

Speaker 6 (05:58):
They have one guy who had fifty six home runs,
God bless him. Who else in that team, Raks, I
understand Harper was hurt. I get it, he was hurt.
His numbers were down a little. He's not Bryce Harper anymore.
He's not the guy three years ago against the Podjets.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
He's still really good.

Speaker 6 (06:12):
He's still Bryce Harper, but he's not that guy who
lifts you on your thing and hits the three run
homer in the eighth and the whole place goes nuts.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
And yeah, not many that Bryce Harper's run in the
World Series run was I mean, that doesn't happen.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
I mean his the numbers he put up were stat.

Speaker 6 (06:27):
John, You're absolutely right, But he's getting paid like a
guy who's supposed to at least.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
Do that some times.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
Not only Schwarber, same thing. I mean, Shora disappointing. I
know we hit the home run, it was one game,
but you need to lost. I love Schwarber absolutely, And.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
Now they got to make a decision. Are we gonna
pay a guy that.

Speaker 7 (06:45):
Didn't hit in the playoffs but at fifty six home runs.
I don't again. Yeah, But the point I was trying
to make. The one time they hit in this series
was when they put in Clayton Kershaw JT hit a
massive home run to make it for one.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
And at that.

Speaker 8 (07:00):
Point Dave Roberts is probably folding that game and keeping
kershall and way too long to preserve the rest of
his pitching staff for the next night. So probably outside
of that, yeah, I mean, yeah, you can say, well,
they scored eight runs, you know, the offense is alive. No,
they put in a guy that had has nothing mets.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
Last year he had won any if I recall, and
this year they had two.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
They had aning in a Game one and a good
inning in Game three.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
A couple of thoughts. One, that's texitus to Mike.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
They didn't miss Wheeler at all, not because the starting
pitching was great.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
It couldn't have been any better if he had pitched
than they already was.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
I think missing Bator was huge because it amplified how
bad the rest of their outfield is without Bader and
and marsh Castianos was bad, even though he did get
a couple of hits.

Speaker 5 (07:46):
One was a lucky hit.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Yeah, and then he got a big hitting in Game four, uh,
to give them a late lead.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (07:54):
Kapler was okay, he was okay.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
Marsh was horrible.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
He was their worst players. He's just he's just a
dumb player. He made that play in the first inning
where he tried to dive and catch a ball into
a triple. It didn't hurt them. Then and then and
the other game. I texted Mike, he's they're two and oh,
they're down by a bunch of runs. It's two and
oh count. I said, don't swing at the next pitch.
He swings at the next pitch, and he was won

(08:20):
for one hundred. He's just he had a great contract.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Yes, he is.

Speaker 5 (08:24):
I believe he had the last.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Four months very good. He was awful in the playoffs.
He's a below average outfielder and he's not smart. It
just amplifies how silly this team is at times. Harper
is one of the worst base runners you'll ever see.
He was lucky he didn't get thrown out a third
on then first a third play. Castianos was dumb to

(08:46):
try for second. He was lucky that the guy missed
the tag. It just it's not there's some really smart
players real mute to is brilliantly smart. He does all
the right things, and then what happens in the end,
a really dumb play by a young pitcher who just
panicked in the moment when his veteran catchers pointing to
first base, they just throw the ball to first base.

(09:09):
I mean, you're in the major leagues, you know that
just can't happen.

Speaker 6 (09:13):
And I knew it was going to happen the way
the Phillies rallied around him.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
Yeah, and I thought that way, you know what, that's
how you do it. It's over.

Speaker 5 (09:21):
Yeah, and they.

Speaker 6 (09:22):
Knew and they noticed group probably isn't going to be
back as.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
This whole group.

Speaker 6 (09:26):
But what they did with Kirker, and I thought it
was fine because that can ruin a career.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Yeah, they can do it Mitch Williams and never never
be seen or heard from again. But he Mitch Waives
was at the end of his career. This kid's not
at the end of his career. He was a rookie
and a team that went to the World.

Speaker 6 (09:40):
See, I really thought two years ago, three years ago,
and I thought he was the guy. Now they have
their closer now, So yeah, to me, looks like a
little bit When I watch him sometimes he just looks
like a bit of a deer in a headlights.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
And I think that showed up.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
And the Dodgers actually said in their Scauting report, they said, look,
dare him to throw to a base because he won't
do it, and he doesn't have to do it.

Speaker 5 (10:00):
He's just not good at it. And it showed in
that moment.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
Did you hear what the Dodgers? And I forgot who
said this?

Speaker 6 (10:06):
After Game two, when they had won, one of the
Dodgers was heard saying to one of his teammates, can you.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Believe we won two games here? Yeah? I think it was.
It was Freddy Freeman, I.

Speaker 6 (10:16):
Think it was, and they were I think they were
just saying, hey, let's let's get one.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
They got big two ad hits and the Phillies never did,
including the Turner had a chance to win the game
for him in Game two, which.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
That's that's what it felt like. The cookering thing was
something that happened. I mean, obviously that's the one, that's
the walk off, that's the end of the game.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
Short.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
We look at that most, but.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
That's not why they lost the series and the biggest
pressure moments of the game, when there's an opportunity to
make a play, whether that's at the plate or that's
in the field like cookering. They completely crumbled every single
time They've had opportunities to score runs more than once
in that game and multiple times in the series that
would change the entire series, and they crumbled every single time.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
That spotlight all nobody, every single one of ye.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
Nobody wants to look at a big picture. But I
would say at the moment, over the four year run
that Mike was talking about, I think Houston ultimately was
slowly better. Yes, and not a disaster that they lost him.
They didn't have their opportunities. The next year was the
biggest one. They lost to a team that they were
clearly better than in Arizona six and probably would have
been the favorite of the World Series against worse they
would have been a pickle if they had gotten Yeah,

(11:19):
so that that was a disaster. Last year they lost
to a better team at the time, and the Mets
this year at the Dodgers were at least as good
as the Phillies.

Speaker 8 (11:27):
Yeah, and they were both underperforming. It's just the Phillies
were underperforming slightly worse than the Dodgers because the Dodgers.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
Was not good.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
The Dodgers actually had a lower batting average in the
series and scored fewer runs.

Speaker 6 (11:41):
And how about how about like Christopper was going to
get roasted. How about the decision to pitch Nola for
two which I had never even born, and Tuares comes
in great and was great, Like, yeah, I mean, I
know Thompson takes.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
But he got mad at the oh he took him
out and Bride Suarez gave up a home run, Like
what makes you think Aaron Nola couldn't have done that?

Speaker 3 (11:59):
That was Baron was giving him more home runs out? Yeah, great,
shocked that.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
I got a text from somebody whose names shall not
be named right after that home run.

Speaker 5 (12:06):
Great strategy, great strategy, But later on that same.

Speaker 8 (12:09):
Person changed you talk about let's talk about the other strategy,
which was to walk show hey, Otani, to blow the
basis for rookie bets end up walking in.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Uh, yeah, the fairy was there at you put a
horse out? Yeah, Otani, you know he'd hit home run
off the rent early in the season. I know he's
won for nineteen, but he's still Otani. And you think
there's no way he's walking anybody, because he never does.
But all of a sudden, this is the biggest moment

(12:40):
of your life. Yeah, and now you have a chance
to walk in what turned out the time?

Speaker 8 (12:45):
Run yeah around him though, like because Oani's the bets
have not been good.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
That's a bear.

Speaker 5 (12:50):
Don't don't just put up four fingers.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
Don't poke the bear as that that many times though
I wouldn't want to try it. I look, it was
pre standard. It's if it was something out of the ordinary,
maybe I question ship, but making that move is a
pretty standard move off. Just loading the bases give you
a force out anywhere on the base.

Speaker 5 (13:06):
If they had pitched, I didn't have a problem with.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (13:08):
If they had pitched and he hits the ball somewhere,
the thing everybody would have said, why didn't you and
Cam at a good point there you could throw three outside.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
Him because he was he's not been good now, he
was swinging a lot of bad balls.

Speaker 6 (13:26):
He will be good against whoever they play now, Oh
yeah he will.

Speaker 5 (13:30):
He will hit the somewhere hard.

Speaker 8 (13:32):
The last thing I'll say too is I think it
was the first thing Lazardo came in.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
He's in an impossible situation. It's a tie.

Speaker 8 (13:39):
Gametani, Betts and Hernandez just blows them away and then
you go, okay, now the Phillies meet at the orders up.
Let's see how they respond up and down in eight pitches.
I'm like, that's it.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
Pitch two innings.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Who pitched the bottom of the knight strop and then
he pitched the ten Blizardo pitched the tenth. Then they
took him out in the eleven. Yeah, okay, yeah something
after he gave up to.

Speaker 4 (14:06):
It one it to it gave him a couple of runners,
he did, Yeah, he didn't put a couple of runners.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
And the sure Kirking I thought was live.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
The one game where he gave up the two run
single after game was this game two.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
I believe he was throwing great to will Smith and.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Then all of a sudden, he throws the nothing slider
right down the middle.

Speaker 5 (14:25):
It made no made no sense.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
But again to John's point, every time they needed to
make a big pitch or get a big hit, they
never did it.

Speaker 8 (14:33):
That just a back I mean, not like the Dodgers
pitchers weren't making mistakes too. It says the Dodgers were
better timely.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
Yeah, I mean you go back.

Speaker 6 (14:42):
Happened they lost their last three in twenty two, and
again the Houston was probably a little better team. I
mean we would all kind of get well, you can
go back when they took whe were out and Dick
text me and he says, yeah, I don't think decisions
on the last game of the guy, the guy for
the shows, the center fielder for the Astros makes to
catch it. Probably we saved Game five, okay, But the
two games against the d Backs.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
There really and the pitching he wasn't.

Speaker 6 (15:06):
Horrible in those two games. It wasn't great, but it
wasn't horrible. Last year the Mets were at that point,
We're the better team, ye know, they were, I think
and this you know yet two even teams, maybe the
two best teams in baseball possibly, But I hate I
hate calling the Phillies one of the best teams in
baseball because I just don't like doing it.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
Here's the bottom line.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
At bet Parks, the Dodgers are plus one out of
five to win the World Series.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
Essentially, they're even money at this point.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
Toronto's plus three twenty five, Seattle's plus three fifty, Milwaukee
and Chicago the Cubs play tonight, Milwaukee plus eight to fifty.
The Cubs are plus one thousands, So ten to one
on the Cubs. If you like the Cubs, you think
they're gonna win tonight, you'll get a lot less than
ten to one to Mark.

Speaker 6 (15:48):
Milwaukee'll get the gets the home field, right correct over, Toron,
I would take a shot at plus eight fifty on
the Brewers to win it all, just because you say ten,
I thought, oh no, the Cubs are ten. To cut
down just the sake of argument. I don't think the
Dodgers are playing great baseball right now. They're playing They're
the Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
Yeah, all right, So the Phillies have three huge pending
free ages, Schwarmer, Real, Muta, Suarez.

Speaker 5 (16:11):
What do we do?

Speaker 3 (16:13):
John? What are you doing?

Speaker 2 (16:15):
H They have no catchers that are ready, they have
no DH and Suarez is a terrific starting pitcher.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
What are you gonna do?

Speaker 4 (16:25):
I mean, maybe try and keep Suarez, but I know
that contract is gonna be a little higher than you
would probably want, because everybody wants good pitching.

Speaker 3 (16:32):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
But yeah, I hate to say, just let Schober walk.
It's too big of a contract. And at this point,
you're you're gonna have to really try and fill out
your roster at different ways and not just be top heavy.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
And it's we've seen enough of this.

Speaker 4 (16:45):
So yeah, like real Muta, they don't have a catcher
in waiting, but you're gonna have to try and find
a cheap one or maybe some catcher you can find
value in on the free agency market. You're just gonna
have to let him go. Like I just I think
they have to make that decision to just let it go.
Figure out on the other side of that, what what
maybe this lineup could look like in different ways.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
He could fill up a lot And as good as
the pitching staff is, if you look at the numbers
when they pitched a real Muto and they don't, it's
kind of astonishing how much better they are with him
than without him.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
He's a pro. He that's where he is.

Speaker 8 (17:15):
I think you got to try and bring him back
at all costs.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
Elder is j like thirty five or thirty four.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
Thirty five, Yeah, I mean I thought he he hit
pretty well till the end of the season.

Speaker 5 (17:26):
He got he was not the problem.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
In the playoffs.

Speaker 6 (17:30):
Going to ask for it, like, I don't know what
he's making now, I'm guessing he's making million, major money, major,
big time money.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
I mean, it's his agent going to success.

Speaker 6 (17:38):
I mean real multi might want to be the otherest
thing we got to look at is some of these
guys might not want to be here, right Like Swarm
might say, you know what, I can go to Southwest
Ohio and get just to get more money. And they
just made the playoffs and I don't know.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
And he's a guy to me that looks like he'll
hit forever. He just those guys that will.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
Hit, and that's all he's got to do. Right, Why
those are three rather large? Well, they also have third
baseman they tried to trade last night.

Speaker 6 (18:07):
Look, I like Ali, he was not the problem of
the play No, he was not the short stop in
the first basement.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
Are gonna be here?

Speaker 6 (18:14):
There's nothing I think Bader has to come back. You
got to give him some money he's going to I
don't know.

Speaker 5 (18:19):
What his contract situation.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
No, it would have to be a mutual option. I
thought I thought he was great.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
He gives a bad outfield defense, a really good center fielder,
and he hit.

Speaker 6 (18:31):
You're going to get rid of the I mean I
think they're gonna try to give rid of the right fielder.
I don't see how he can come back because he's
he's just a liability. And I don't see how. I mean,
are you gonna bring Marsh back again? I mean, I
just I don't know.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
I don't think you. I don't think you can bring
Schwarber back.

Speaker 8 (18:48):
Because then you're just basically saying that we're gonna run
it back and retool.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
But what's a fan base corner set?

Speaker 6 (18:53):
And I guess I don't care what the fan no, no, no,
but but they might care about what the when.

Speaker 5 (18:59):
When people showing up?

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Who was the guy?

Speaker 6 (19:02):
Yeah, when the Phillies went and signed Ryan Howard to
that Mega.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
This is gonna be bad, but you had to.

Speaker 6 (19:09):
You couldn't let Ryan Howard walk for various reasons.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
It's this one.

Speaker 8 (19:13):
You don't have to because I don't have to when
the guys, the guys older.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
I get it, he's gonna hit, but he still might
have a good year or two left. But you're gonna
pay him for four that's the problem.

Speaker 6 (19:23):
Yeah, but you're playing Tray Turner for for another seven
or eight.

Speaker 8 (19:26):
Yeah, I mean, do you want to pay him that
much money? To prove it in the regular season and
then not do anything in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
And the problem is, ultimately the baseball playoffs are unforgiving.
The best team rarely wins. It did happen last year,
it might happen again this year. If you consider the
Dodgers the best team, they weren't there in the regular season,
but there they were, playing great down to stretch. It
was no surprise to me that they played well. But
the fact that the Phillies have now lost all these
home games, was it five out of the last six whatever,

(19:55):
it ain't good.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
Let me put it this way. Kyle Schwarber. I don't
want to knock him.

Speaker 8 (20:00):
He's had an MVP caliber season, but he is the
epitome of what this Phillies lineup is.

Speaker 3 (20:05):
He's a streaky hitter.

Speaker 8 (20:07):
When it's going good, it's going great, he's unstoppable. But
then when it's going bad, he's oh for twenty five.
And that's what happens with this entire lineup. And that's
what happened the last couple of years in the playoffs,
is they caught the playoffs on a cold street.

Speaker 6 (20:19):
You know, it's funny as a sixty seven year old farisht.
I've I've seen most of it. But we keep hearing
about home. We're home, We're home, We're home. Okay, let
me tell you about home. Seventy six, seventy seven, seventy
eight Phillies played six home playoff games.

Speaker 3 (20:37):
I was at all six. They didn't win one.

Speaker 6 (20:41):
Nineteen eighty one Game five against the Expos caught and
Steve Rodgers. They lost four nothing. Steve Rodgers threw a
four eighty three World Series. Oh's came in here in one,
Game three, four and five. Twenty eleven, Game five, Phillies home.

Speaker 3 (20:59):
I get it. You want to be home. I understand,
but it's baseball.

Speaker 6 (21:03):
It's much better when and we saw Diegos lose you
know games, But again, when you can't defend home relatively well,
I'm not saying, you know all the time when they
played the Padres and the Braves those years, those teams
didn't have a chance, yeah when they came in there.
So what changed between that and now? I I don't know,

(21:24):
but a lot of pressure ramped up. YEA, what Boom
and Castellanos said this week, and maybe they shouldn't have
said it, and they got caught crap for and Jimmy
Rowland said it. You know, you're there's there's the moment
and when they play at home, they kind of noted
if things.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
Don't go well, they'll turn on Yeah, that's Philadelphia.

Speaker 5 (21:43):
That's not unusual. By the way.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
Uh, there's only been two times in history that a
city's NFL team NHL team have both lost on the
same night that their baseball team was eliminated from the playoffs.

Speaker 5 (21:59):
What's city would that be?

Speaker 2 (22:01):
The other year was nineteen eighty three when the Phillies
lost on a Sunday afternoon to the Flyers in the
World Series.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
The Flyers just lost a game.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
Oh okay, and the Eagles lost that Sunday, So it
was a great it's all.

Speaker 5 (22:15):
They happened twice in history.

Speaker 3 (22:17):
Both Eddie Murray is still.

Speaker 6 (22:19):
Hitting Eddie Murray and cal Rich remember.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
In twenty two for the Phillies were eliminated.

Speaker 6 (22:27):
On the same day that the Union lost in that
championship game, which I don't think it ever happened that.

Speaker 5 (22:33):
Guy for the Union, they won what is the shield
John with.

Speaker 3 (22:35):
The supporter shield it this is a big deal.

Speaker 4 (22:38):
I know some people kind of like, okay, well, you
just want to win a championship. But in soccer winning
the most points, I think like at the end of
the regular season a supporter, they.

Speaker 3 (22:47):
Were in a real league, like the Premier League.

Speaker 5 (22:49):
They'd be the champion. Yes, that's how they that's like
a normal league.

Speaker 3 (22:53):
But you have the best record. This is like the NHL,
where you get the most points, you get eliminated. In
the folks class, that's great.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
The Phillies a bitter and uh to a four year
run that could be over.

Speaker 4 (23:06):
Well.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
I think they're gonna be good next year. You know,
Wheeler is gonna be I have to miss the whole year.

Speaker 5 (23:12):
Do we know that?

Speaker 3 (23:13):
We don't know. I don't know. I think he's gonna
miss a lot of I'll tell you who's gonna be
big next year.

Speaker 6 (23:18):
For better be Painter because I think Suarez is gone
because I just don't think they can fit him into
their their payroll.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
He's going to get a nice con if they.

Speaker 4 (23:28):
You're gonna have to bring those guys, that's right. That's
the thing is that everybody's thinking like Crawford's going to
be the savior. The guy has no power, like great
speed and all that. But he said bring them up
this year.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
If he's this good. Yeah, exactly say, but you don't
always need power. You need a guy like that that's gonna.

Speaker 4 (23:43):
Hit for con How much money do you think now
you need a little bit more than that.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
How much money they have made himself?

Speaker 6 (23:50):
The other night you come into playoffs, you threw five,
basically gave up the home run.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
He's he's the coolest cat. You're right, he guy.

Speaker 6 (24:00):
But you know what, so is Sanchez and so's Lazada.
They're all kind kind of the same. Maybe I don't know,
maybe because of their makeup. Who knows, they just go
out there.

Speaker 4 (24:09):
At least they have that anchor. Now, you know, Zach Wheeler,
I think he only has like one more or two
more years left. I forget when he stayed. But Christopher
Sanchez is an ACE, and they have them in a
really relatively good team contract for like the next so
on years.

Speaker 6 (24:21):
Maybe Will comes back, and maybe he's pretty good.

Speaker 3 (24:25):
I mean, there's no guaranteed that he won't.

Speaker 4 (24:27):
But at least to have that anchor, the guy you
know is gonna be there for a whiles and Ace.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
That's a I can't take anymore.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
We got our college football games coming up, We got
our NFL game.

Speaker 3 (24:38):
I haven't even looked at any of this.

Speaker 4 (24:39):
First, I want to tell college football EC lost Thursday
night too.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
But first, first, so they're leading Denver seventeen to three.

Speaker 5 (24:47):
Do I have that a bet?

Speaker 3 (24:48):
Right? Yes?

Speaker 2 (24:50):
In the fourth quarter last Sunday, they're four and oh
they're ready to go five and oh Denver's offense can't
even move the ball. And now they're four and two
and they look horrible in the fourth quarter against Denver,
and then basically but for the most part, the entire
game against the Giants, even though when they're driving down
the field at the end to get within three, correct

(25:12):
me if I'm wrong, but AJ Brown is coming wide
open to the back of the end zone.

Speaker 5 (25:16):
It hurts throws a near pick six for reasons.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
I have not teared out yet, and they lose and
get beaten up by Camp Scataboo and the Giants.

Speaker 3 (25:27):
Jackson Darklok's pretty good.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
Huh, Kyle, We'll start with you, what is going on
with the football team?

Speaker 3 (25:33):
Well, what has happened?

Speaker 8 (25:34):
First and foremost, I'll start with the Denver game. There's
no scenario whatsoever. I don't care the circumstances that Saquon
Barkley should have six touches, and that's just especially when
you have a lead, there's no way that should happen.
All right, on to Thursday night, Quinnon Mitchell gets hurt.
You have two measly cornerbacks that are just getting picked
apart by a rookie.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
No Carter, no Carter, no pass rush.

Speaker 8 (25:58):
The defense was horrible, but that doesn't make up for
or you know, to find what happened on the offense.
The offense looks like it did with the Brian Johnson offense,
where it's just so vanilla, so predictable. You know, you
run Barkley up the middle and then you run these
five yard out routes and there's just no no uh
spark on that offense. And I think it was Lane

(26:19):
Johnson said it's predictable. They're back to a predictable, vanilla offense.
And when you have talent like this on the on
the team, you got to point your finger at the
coaching staff. I mean, I don't know what they're doing.
They have so much that they can do with this offense,
and I feel like they're not even scratching the surface.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
Yeah, there's that, and the quarterback you started very good
in the game, had a very bad second half. He
had Smith wide open for a touchdown. Overthrow them and
then to play the play that.

Speaker 6 (26:44):
Yeah, the overthrew a guy. A week before that Tode
he in the Denver game, there was a guy open.
I'm pretty sure AJ Brown was a Brown. Yeah, that
that looked like a miscommunication. You did blame that on Brown?
He stopped running.

Speaker 3 (26:55):
Hey, that's yeah.

Speaker 4 (26:56):
So they explained that play. And I think that it's
at the crux of most of this is that I
think it was more of a miscommunication that A J.
Brown had to go off his route a little bit,
and then Hurts didn't see it initially, So when A J.

Speaker 3 (27:06):
Brown looked up the balls, yeah, exactly.

Speaker 4 (27:09):
It's like these but that that's my problem is it's
sure the play calling is predictable, like after a while
does get predictable. But over time you do see that
they are there's miscommunications everywhere. They aren't executing on the
offensive line like they used to it, so they're not
getting as much push, they're not running the ball as well. Yeah, no, no, Dick,
the injuries are starting to pile up. It's just and

(27:30):
agent and Jalen Hurts his missing throws like it's it's
just all of these small things compounding in on each
other and it's making this one huge job. Meetings met
yeah already. And that's the problem too, is they look
like a team. Everybody's like, oh, they look like they're
giving up. I don't think they're giving up. They just
have no answers. They are trying their best, and they
were doing it since week one. They were like, Okay,

(27:50):
something's wrong here, and they've been trying to search for
an answer. That's why they keep talking like this and
keep doing all these things of meetings, stuff like that,
and they just can't find it.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
Away from three. Okay, now, let me point.

Speaker 6 (28:01):
Out they were boring in Vanilla last year. Okay, for
most of the season. The difference was Barkley was getting
the ball, getting through the line and making a seventy
yard run and that was their big play. Okay, this
year is getting hit in the backfield. He's not even
getting to the line of screams. And when you hear
these guys analyze and I don't know if their line
just is getting old or is hurt would I have

(28:24):
no idea, But when then they analyze this stuff, apparently
like when when they getting certain formations, the other team
knows what they're gonna do. Yeah, and we heard that
last year, but again they were boring. All people said, well,
you know, if Jalen gets to the playoffs, I don't
know if he can carry Eagles say, well, okay, but
and they did. I'm not saying it's going in with
the Super Bowl. Obnutly, we're in week six. If they
have issues, they have issues, but it's week six and

(28:47):
they can you know, there's time to try to fix it.

Speaker 8 (28:51):
Now.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
They got to fix it for those interested. They were
for it to last year after six games, and they
really weren't playing that well. Even when it's horrible, they
were barely winning. They were life and death to win
a couple of games. But Barkley was already on his
way at that point. To Mike's point, you already saw
how good.

Speaker 3 (29:07):
How many runs of like more than fifty yards did
you have, like seven or eight?

Speaker 8 (29:11):
But even the run calls were a little bit different
last year. They never really yeah, they never know why
get him in open space and let me ask you
just about the game real quick. I know we got
to go to breaks, but I get it like you
know everybody talks about the four four tush pushes in
a row like ha ha, you can't stop it. I
feel like that's just loser mentality, Like you can't develop

(29:32):
a play in the rest.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
I feel like you're playing, not delete.

Speaker 6 (29:35):
This play will get out after this year because of
that four play sequence.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
I'm going to tell you right now.

Speaker 6 (29:39):
The owners watching that probably saying, really, this is like
what our sport is now.

Speaker 8 (29:45):
And again, I get it, it worked because he did
it four times, But I feel like that's just like
a loser mentality.

Speaker 6 (29:51):
Did that Buffalo was doing it and Eagles weren't. Everybody
in Philadelphia would hate that play, Yeah, because the Eagle's
doing it. And I get it, Yeah, that's that play
is hard. Just run a quarterback sneak. All right, calm down,
I can't. I know you said you weren't going to talk.
Do you said you were to talk? For two hours?
Push for those interested. Eagles have a mini five this week.

(30:11):
They play at Minnesota. Next week, card is two and
a half at Minnesota on bet Parks.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
At the moment that they are off the following week,
so they have a chance to figure out a way
to rectify this mess. But right now it's kind of
a mess. But it's six games into a seventeen game season.

(32:43):
in the Super Bowl, win it, win it, correct, win
the super Bowl. It's just double the odds they were
even a week or so ago. If you think this
is an operation. And keep in mind last year, this
was not a really good team until the back end
of the season when they caught fire and rolled through
the playoffs. So Buffalo is the favorite at four and
am I don't like them a little bit?

Speaker 5 (33:04):
No Detroit plus seven hundred to me is the bet
right now.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
They're playing better than anybody and their defense is now
not hurt.

Speaker 4 (33:10):
Yeah, And maybe the biggest difference from the Eagles last
year to this year, and maybe the biggest difference from
the Lions last year to this year injury injuries, correct,
like that is the biggest. The number one as that
the Eagles had. Wasn't all the talent that they had,
the coaching, the way the offense is being called.

Speaker 3 (33:24):
They weren't just healthy.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
No Detroit was really unlucky last year that their entire
defense was heard by the playoffs. Green Bay plus eight hundred,
Kansas City plus nine hundred their sub five hundred.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
At the moment for those interested.

Speaker 5 (33:36):
And then the Rams are after the Eagles at sixteen, and.

Speaker 6 (33:40):
The Green Bays and the Eagles are playing about a
month from now in Lambay.

Speaker 3 (33:43):
That's that's going to be an interesting game. Sure, yeah,
it could determine something like home field because.

Speaker 6 (33:48):
Green Bay hasn't exactly been lightening it up. The last
house of the Browns, they should be eliminated. And the
Cincinnati signed Jude Flacco.

Speaker 3 (33:56):
This week because they think he's going to beat Green
Bay twelve. Well, the Eagles lost in the Giants. You
know they not just that.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
Noon games start with the noon games. Alabama terrific game
on ABC minus three at Missouri.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
Alabama is clearly back.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
They're playing great. Missouri is undefeated. You know, they haven't lost.
They haven't played a road game this year.

Speaker 6 (34:17):
This is Missouri's sixth straight home game and they won
fifteen straight at home, which I think is tied with
Alabama for the second longest street behind Oregon. And you
like it, boy, it's it looks too easy to take Alabama.
It really does, because they've been playing well everybody's talking about.
I don't like the game because I would lean towards

(34:40):
Bama and I think it's a sucker kind of play.
And I know John is probably gonna take Bama because
we It.

Speaker 3 (34:46):
Just looks too easy, doesn't it, John?

Speaker 5 (34:48):
To me, it's the biggest game in Missouri recent football.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
Yes, a, you have the gold standard in your gym,
and you have them when you're playing as good as
any Missouri team is played.

Speaker 6 (35:02):
And that quarterback, the Missouri quarterback could have been the
Penn State quarterback.

Speaker 2 (35:06):
Terrific player. I'll think Missouri plus the three, but not
not a game I would better any money. I'm sorry, John,
and I rupted you go.

Speaker 3 (35:13):
No, You're good.

Speaker 4 (35:14):
Uh So, I think everybody is talking themselves into Missouri
because the spot is great. Alabama's had two really tough
games Georgia and Vandy, so now Alabama has to go
on the road. Missouri hasn't played anyone on the road.
They've been at home. They're hitting a bunch of games
and feeling themselves. They won the ball well, which I
think Alabama doesn't stop the run well. So that's a
matchup everybody likes. Yeah, it's all going Alabama. I just

(35:37):
I actually think they have turned turned to tide.

Speaker 6 (35:40):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (35:40):
They really figured it out under Kaylin de Boor and
the quarterback. To me, if I were to vote for
the Huson right now, which I do have a Heisman, Yeah,
Ty Simpson's like the best quarterback in the country right now.
I think he's playing outstanding football. He's just played two
incredible teams like Georgia and better than Fernando Mendez Brenana.
Mendos is playing well. The two those are the two
other ones, Doza and Dante More playing.

Speaker 3 (36:01):
For what about what about Drew? Uh yeah, we'll get
We'll get to that later.

Speaker 4 (36:07):
But yeah, I think ty Simpson is playing the best
in the best football any quarterback of the country.

Speaker 6 (36:12):
Albat I think that's gonna show again. Alabama schedule like
in the next month. Yeah, I was gonna say, got
like three of these games. By the way, yeah, I
mean eventually they're going to drop another one. Everybody's going
to drop one.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (36:22):
By the way that you know, they they're coming off
of two tough games that they won. Next week they're
at home against Tennessee. So the good Uh, what do
you got?

Speaker 3 (36:31):
I'll go with BAM on this one. I like the
way that they're rolling.

Speaker 6 (36:34):
I'll for reasons, I'll go with Dick will make it
too to I mean, the spot into the matchup does
say Missouri number.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
One, Ohio State minus fourteen and a half in Champagne
against Illinois.

Speaker 3 (36:46):
That's the Fox News.

Speaker 6 (36:47):
How about Ohio State's defense, Uh, they're giving up like
six points, Johnny, we'll start with you.

Speaker 4 (36:53):
This is another test I guess for Julian sand And
he looked good against Minnesota last game, but it's Minnesota.
I don't know how much to take away from that,
but it's the first time their offense really kind of
exploded in a game against like a decent team, or
at least a power for a team, So maybe I
can take that into account. I would take Ohio State here.
I don't like the way Illinois look. Their offense is
probably a little bit better than Ohio States, but a

(37:15):
high States defense is way better than Illinois has been
this season, So I think not to say we're going
to see like an Indiana type score, but Ohio States
offense is probably going to get at least on the
ground too some yards and be able to move the
ball easily against Illinois, and I just don't know if
their offense could keep up against Ohio States very great,
maybe one of the best in college football defenses.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
And Penn State stole their defensive coordinator, paid him three
million And how's that working out?

Speaker 3 (37:39):
To defense looking better tie every game?

Speaker 5 (37:43):
Does anybody know who the Ohio State defensive coordinator is?

Speaker 2 (37:47):
Oh it's Matt Patrician, former Eagles of defensive coat.

Speaker 3 (37:55):
He's got like four rings I think on his finger
a because of him. Something to do.

Speaker 2 (38:00):
Yeah, Illinois was so bad against Indiana. That was embarrassing.
Indiana's offense way better than Ohio States. I'll take Illinois
plus the fourteen and a half at home.

Speaker 5 (38:10):
I'm going with you, trying to keep it close.

Speaker 8 (38:11):
S Kyle, I can't go against this Ohio State defense.
I think they'll have an answer for a good Illinois offense.

Speaker 3 (38:18):
I got a ride with the Buckeyes.

Speaker 6 (38:20):
Remember college football, there's always three or ranked teams every week,
just might not be to one. But we see games
and you say wow, because if everybody won that was
supposed to win.

Speaker 3 (38:30):
We goteen undefeated.

Speaker 2 (38:31):
Teams like there's this game still at the Cotton Bowl
or they play Stones.

Speaker 5 (38:35):
Yeah, to the Cotton Texas Oklahoma.

Speaker 2 (38:37):
Texas has been favored most of the week minus one
and a half, and now it's flip to the Oklahoma
minus one quarterbacks. Looks like John Mattier is going to play.
Uh we'll start with you with the Red River rivalry.

Speaker 3 (38:48):
Here, oh boy, or to shootout? They stopped. I don't know,
how do you bet this?

Speaker 4 (38:55):
You made it the toughest thing to say ever in
the history red River rival the Red River. Okay, though
I did three, I will roll.

Speaker 8 (39:08):
I gotta go with Oklahoma here. I doma lost yet. No, no, no,
that's why I'm rolling against Mike Karn's you know point
of you know, one of these teams has to lose.

Speaker 3 (39:19):
I've been going with all the favorites so far. I'm
gonna go it's only one and a half.

Speaker 8 (39:22):
Yeah, it's one of I mean, they're Oklahoma is a dog,
but you know, I think they're the better team.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
Oklahoma is minus one according to Bett Parks unless unless
you have something.

Speaker 3 (39:30):
I have a plus one and a half Oklahoma.

Speaker 5 (39:32):
Really I looked at it this morning.

Speaker 2 (39:33):
Yeah, all right, I'll try.

Speaker 3 (39:35):
It is a really mad bad Yeah.

Speaker 8 (39:37):
Bunny's coming in on. Uh on Texas.

Speaker 5 (39:40):
No, no, Texas has been a favorite all week.

Speaker 2 (39:42):
Yeah, oh, I must have read it wrong this morning,
okayest one.

Speaker 3 (39:45):
Yeah, I'll take the I'll take the road dog in Oklahoma. Yeah,
I haven't.

Speaker 2 (39:49):
Liked Texas all year. I like nothing about them. I'm
taking Oklahoma. I think they're a better team. I just
think Texas is a front as simple as.

Speaker 6 (39:55):
That Oklahoma has the last five, six, seven years.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
Is own this year. He's a little bit too. They've
I'm with Dick.

Speaker 6 (40:04):
I want to take Texas so bad because I just
think they're you know, they're dick. If they lose this game,
they're done. They're Yeah, they would have to run the
table to have a chance. They're not running to take
They're not making a play. And for that reason, I
would take Oklahoma because this team. There's about three teams
out here that that have just irritate me, Penn State
being one of them. Yeah, but the Texas is they

(40:27):
really are. I mean they haven't done anything. But I
understand you go to Ohio State and lose, Hey, that
is what.

Speaker 2 (40:34):
Yeah, but me just got crushed. But yeah, not even
in the game, I know. Never fact was that Florida
crushed them.

Speaker 3 (40:41):
Yeah, yeah, I think I predicted that was arts Manning
through two picks. I think I had. I think if
he's found for at least a turnover a game, perfect game.

Speaker 6 (40:51):
I would go with Oklahoma because I think if the
quarterback plays, he's been out for like three he's good.

Speaker 3 (40:56):
He's way better than arts Manning. It's not even I'm
way better than art Man right now. I don't know.

Speaker 5 (41:01):
Have you seen me playing not recent? Okay, John, you
gotta follow on.

Speaker 4 (41:05):
Yeah, the quarterbacks have been playing well, and John Mittier
is probably the favorite for the Heisman before he got hurt.
The only thing that bothers me, though, is that they
are grinding things out on offense. It's not like it's
huge plays putting up seventy points John.

Speaker 5 (41:18):
Their defense is.

Speaker 3 (41:19):
Yeah, their defense is really good.

Speaker 4 (41:20):
It's it's a bread Venables team where they're grinding out
on offense and the defense playing.

Speaker 3 (41:23):
Really well against against arch Man.

Speaker 4 (41:26):
So that's I wouldn't have a player in this game.
I don't like it at all. I'm just everybody's on Oklahoma.
I'm just gonna go much. I don't I don't know
if Ocahoma, Texas John Mittiers coming back from a hand
injury and I think it was on his throwing hand.
It is so if he can't grind it out in
the way that he was and this offense can't move
the ball in that same way, I mean this is

(41:46):
going to be a very very low scoring great window
at three point thirty.

Speaker 5 (41:50):
That game's on ABC, CBS.

Speaker 2 (41:52):
Oregon minus seven and a half at home against Indian.

Speaker 3 (41:55):
This will not be low scoring home.

Speaker 5 (41:59):
Oregon's really good. I love Indiana in this game.

Speaker 2 (42:02):
Indiana has look, they've played two significant opponents since they
got good last year.

Speaker 3 (42:07):
They lost them both.

Speaker 2 (42:09):
The scores were actually closer than the games they got
out played pretty dramatically by Ohio State and Notre Dame.
I think this Indiana team is better than last year's
Indiana team.

Speaker 3 (42:18):
And I do not think.

Speaker 5 (42:18):
Oregon this year is as good as Oregon last year.
I'm thinking, what's the over on row on that game?
One hundred?

Speaker 6 (42:25):
Yeah, that's my play. I'll take the over because that
game will probably get in the thirties.

Speaker 2 (42:31):
Two terrific quarterbacks, two great coaches, fun game, Uh, Indiana football,
this is the one.

Speaker 5 (42:38):
If they could actually go there and win, then you
finally say, oh my god, this is.

Speaker 3 (42:42):
Actually the Nigga Penn State in like three weeks correct
one November the eighth, But.

Speaker 8 (42:47):
Who's counting half feels like that's a lot, a little steep,
it's a lot, but it makes you want to ride.

Speaker 4 (42:52):
You know the score that is that is a Eugene
Organ number. That is a being at home.

Speaker 8 (42:56):
Absolutely, it makes you think that you're missing something. And
you know Oregon, you know, look they play it's significantly better.
But for that reason, I mean, I Oregon might win,
but I think again, it's gonna cover.

Speaker 2 (43:06):
Played at Notre Dame and at Ohio State last year,
this is no different than that They've been in this
kind of a spot. So yeah, I'm riding with this coach.
This guy is a wild man. Fernando Mendoza, to me,
is played better than any quarterback in the country.

Speaker 5 (43:21):
It's up till this moment wins the game.

Speaker 3 (43:24):
Yeah, what will Signetty be? Like the game?

Speaker 2 (43:27):
Great, he'll be off he can't wait you here, He'll
be off the charge. Love that dude, man, he just
says what he thinks. He's Steve Spurrier. He's my guy.
You got a thought on this, Mike, you gotta.

Speaker 6 (43:37):
Yeah, I'm taking you over I'm gonna go with the
fifty three because.

Speaker 3 (43:41):
Love it, John, I don't love it.

Speaker 4 (43:45):
This is a tough game, but I'm going to go Oregon,
and I think the home field advantage definitely plays it
into that.

Speaker 2 (43:51):
Yet, all right, so three point on FS one. How
ugly will this be? If the game starts Northwestern seven,
Penn State nothing the Kent State minus twenty one and
a half at bet Parks.

Speaker 3 (44:06):
Michael will start with you. I'm that game last week was.

Speaker 5 (44:11):
You're I'm sitting a.

Speaker 6 (44:12):
Mountain mount in Kansas City, would you know, a couple
of my friends, I just kept saying, Penn State's going
to win the game.

Speaker 3 (44:17):
I said, they're gonna come out even when when.

Speaker 6 (44:19):
They got the ball, that call on that fourth, that
whole sequence when they had the ball, which would have
tied the game and forced overtime was and then for
them not to know that they were going to just
take a take a knee in the end zone and
let seven seconds go.

Speaker 3 (44:35):
But again, it is what it is.

Speaker 6 (44:37):
I could not bet Northwestern in this spot because if
Penn State's got anything, they're gonna come out and win
this game, like forty five to seven.

Speaker 2 (44:44):
Yeah, I don't know. What was going on last week.
They're down twenty seven to seven. They immediately get right
back in the game to start the second half, and
then their defense just got.

Speaker 5 (44:53):
To run over by a team that had never led.

Speaker 3 (44:55):
In any game.

Speaker 2 (44:56):
Two hundred and seventy rushing yards yea mostly quarterback scrambles.
Yeah on third and law when they just couldn't contain them.
That was a big part of the problem. But they
just looked uninterested and it was almost like the Oregon
game had carried over for another week. There's ten people
in the Rose Bowl. There's no atmosphere whatsoever. I'm taking
Northwestern plus the points, you go. I just don't I

(45:20):
think this Penn State team is overrated from the start.
I said that they were rated off of the guys
that returned from a team that made the semi finals
of the playoffs because they got an incredible drawl.

Speaker 5 (45:32):
The only good teams they played last year.

Speaker 2 (45:34):
They lost to all of them. So I don't know.
The quarterback has regressed. The line, which was supposed to
be their strong point, is not opening holes for the two.

Speaker 3 (45:44):
I just think Northwestern bad.

Speaker 5 (45:46):
Northwestern is not good.

Speaker 2 (45:47):
And again, but they're getting twenty one and a half
and until Penn State shows me something, and they didn't
show me anything into three games against nobody, nobody in Villanova.

Speaker 5 (45:57):
I would never call them nobody. But it's hasn't been
a good squad.

Speaker 3 (46:01):
I don't get it.

Speaker 2 (46:02):
Texas was ranked number one that right, and Penn State
number two. But they're both out of the out of
the point.

Speaker 3 (46:09):
And you know what.

Speaker 6 (46:09):
The the hardest thing about Penn State. And look, I
know Franklin's done a good job there, I understanding. You
gotta look at the whole deck twelve years or whatever
it's been. The look on his face, it's the same look,
and it's this blank look, like, dude, you're the coach.
You're the one to supposed to be sitting there saying
they're gonna they're gonna try to take a safety here.

(46:30):
We gotta like rush somebody to resaved. It might not
make a difference if they save four seconds. I don't know.

Speaker 5 (46:34):
In the four and Mike's point the fourth and two play, what,
oh my god in the world was that?

Speaker 4 (46:39):
Well?

Speaker 3 (46:39):
How about the one side kick? Yeah, they had no
clue in I mean not the it was.

Speaker 5 (46:46):
Your thoughts on this mess.

Speaker 4 (46:48):
I guess I would go Northwestern. Their offense is cannot
move the ball though anytime they've gone up, even against
the relatively good team.

Speaker 3 (46:58):
Yeah right, but even the.

Speaker 4 (47:00):
UCLA's quarterback at least is much more talented than Preston Stone,
who has been pretty awful. I think he's an SMU transfer.
He's been pretty awful for them. So they just have
no offense. But the the reason why you take Northwestern
is just Penn State's doing all the little things wrong.
They're turning the ball over, They're not as efficient on
third down.

Speaker 3 (47:17):
This is a game you probably shouldn't bet.

Speaker 4 (47:18):
I mean, yeah, probably, Penn State's at home. Penn State
just lost two. You know, they can make a state
not a statement, but at least like get back on
track in some way. It's just this is this has
been since Nevada f IU Villanova. They've done it in
all three of those games. They just do the really
small things in the small margins very wrong. They aren't

(47:39):
great on third down. They aren't great in the red zone.
Uh they they kick field goals more than they get touchdowns,
and feels like in the red zone.

Speaker 3 (47:46):
That just doesn't That doesn't cover games.

Speaker 4 (47:48):
That doesn't win you a lot of games, especially when
you go up against good teams and I can't bet
on a team that does that.

Speaker 5 (47:53):
And the other real Northwestern.

Speaker 2 (47:54):
About Penn State last year or this year, they lost
their two best players. Yeah, they were both first raund
draft choices. People forgot that their tight end was the
was the offense. Yeah, Tyler Warren, especially on down.

Speaker 3 (48:04):
A huge assume with programs like Penn State.

Speaker 6 (48:07):
They just assumed that you're going to put somebody in
he's gonna be almost as good.

Speaker 2 (48:12):
Assumption is a bad word out fow your thoughts on
this contest.

Speaker 8 (48:15):
Yeah, I find it really hard to believe that after
a loss like last week, Penn State's going to be,
you know, coming fired up and pissed off and you know,
just rout them. Because last week was such a horrific loss.
I think that they may just you know, may have
just had their hearts ripped out, and uh, moving forward,
they might just sleep walk through the rest of the

(48:37):
season against these teams.

Speaker 3 (48:39):
With that being said, I got a ride Northwestern.

Speaker 8 (48:41):
I could be wrong. Maybe Penn State does one by fifty. Yeah.
By the way, Northwestern knows how to beat UCLA.

Speaker 3 (48:48):
Yeah, that's this is true.

Speaker 9 (48:50):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (48:51):
Also three point thirty btn Nebraska minus seven at my terps.

Speaker 3 (48:57):
I can't even stop no idea how they lost that
game last week.

Speaker 6 (49:00):
Tell me how to analyze this game, Dixon's it's your
terms because we were Matt rule guys.

Speaker 2 (49:05):
Right, this is a big game for Nebraska assuming two
great young quarterbacks. UH sophomore for UH Nebraska Delan Royola
is terrific. Refreshman from Maryland both really good.

Speaker 5 (49:17):
That was a.

Speaker 2 (49:17):
Disheartening loss for the Turfs last week. Man, Washington beat
I mean they're at home, they're gonna get the five.

Speaker 3 (49:22):
And I saw it one play you were talking about.
It wasn't there, like.

Speaker 2 (49:26):
Yeah, yeah, right the game the guy dropped the ball. Yeah,
Maryland wins the game if he catches it. I don't
have any strong feeling for this game, Kyle. We'll start
with you. Nebraska minus seven at Maryland.

Speaker 1 (49:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (49:37):
I don't really have a strong feeling for this game.
This is a game where I feel like Maryland could
bounce back after a heartbreaker last week.

Speaker 3 (49:44):
So I'll take them to at least cover the seven.

Speaker 4 (49:45):
At Huh, John, Maybe I could just go off the
number saying Maryland at home should be getting better than
what six and a half points that they're that they're
giving it. So I recency bias, So yeah, maybe recently
by So it's just Maryland doesn't get a.

Speaker 3 (50:01):
Lot of love. Well, you think Merlin should be getting more?
I think no, I think this should be sure.

Speaker 4 (50:05):
I think it should be like a three right half
points ride for Nebraska because what what is separating Nebraska
from there at this point? I don't think there's that
much of a difference, And I think the quarterback play
is actually pretty close, if not a little bit better
then what Nebraska getting out of Dylan Ryola. He's his
numbers look okay, but he doesn't take a lot of
chances and he's pretty just you know, it just.

Speaker 6 (50:25):
Comes down to, because I agree with everything you just said,
how does Merlin.

Speaker 3 (50:28):
Come back from that game? Absolutely?

Speaker 6 (50:30):
It's like you were talking about Penn State, like how
does Penn State and and list we think even said
coming off the Organ game, how was I.

Speaker 3 (50:36):
Know Penn State? And we can make He's going to
be tough for Maryland no matter what exactly. But I
think you got to take the touchdown, don't you. I'll
take the.

Speaker 5 (50:44):
Terps as well.

Speaker 3 (50:44):
Yeah, I'll take Maryland, but.

Speaker 2 (50:46):
No, great feel for the game. Here's the game of
the day, four o'clock Yes at the link. Undefeated Navy
Midshipman minus ten at Temple ESPN. Two owls are up
to three w now five and against the spread, five
and oh against the spread. Mike Kerrent one of our
two Temple grads.

Speaker 6 (51:07):
You start Navy is always you know, and and Casey
kesbout this week that they've been practicing for Navy since
like the preseason. What that means, It's just different Navy
they're throwing because Temple's five and oh against the spread.
I'll take the als. I didn't take them last week.

Speaker 3 (51:27):
I goofed it. I didn't.

Speaker 6 (51:29):
I took the utessays, I'll go I don't think they're
gonna beat Navy out right, but I'm gonna take the ten.

Speaker 3 (51:38):
God, what does this rain do to that? To what
I mean?

Speaker 5 (51:41):
It's gonna get hold, It holds the homecoming crowd down.

Speaker 8 (51:45):
This team is gonna be roaring rain or shine. I
don't see a Navy is gonna be shaking in their
boots down at the leak. With that, With that said,
I'll take Temple just to cover the tenth.

Speaker 2 (51:57):
It maybe looked a little shaking against therefore last So
it's not very good what they win in win thirty
eight thirty one or something.

Speaker 8 (52:04):
It was a big score, big spread, and sloppy conditions.

Speaker 3 (52:07):
I'll take that every time.

Speaker 2 (52:08):
I have a rule that I'm gonna have to change
because they're clearly better coach.

Speaker 5 (52:11):
This year, I'm taking the Owls plus the ten yes.

Speaker 3 (52:14):
Welcome got welcome board.

Speaker 5 (52:16):
Yeah, this will be the last one of it.

Speaker 3 (52:18):
If I get now, they're gonna lose by forty killed.

Speaker 4 (52:21):
I love the Owls last week. I love how everything's
going with the Owls, and Simon looks like a good quarterback.
Twelve touchdowns, no picks. You're not gonna stop a triple option,
and especially when that could pass.

Speaker 3 (52:34):
So I'm taking Navy.

Speaker 4 (52:35):
This is the kind of it's the exact kind of
offense and the exact kind of team that will always
destroy like the middle UH to average, the below average
teams in the American Army when they're good can do it.

Speaker 3 (52:45):
Navy can do it. I've seen it happen.

Speaker 4 (52:46):
I've watched American Athletic Conference football for years now, and
a team like this always ruins.

Speaker 3 (52:52):
A team like.

Speaker 2 (52:52):
John's probably right, We'll say Uh, quickly, we have seven
thirty and seven o'clock games.

Speaker 3 (52:58):
We'll start with a seven o'clock game.

Speaker 2 (53:00):
Texas A and M is still undefeated, minus seven and
a half at home against Florida on the ESPN. Florida's
gotta have the toughest sketchule on it. It's just brutal, Uh,
John A and M minus seven and a half against
the Gators at up.

Speaker 4 (53:19):
I'm going to go A and M. I do like
how Marcel Reid is played. It's just the the offense
for Texas A and M has actually just been really explosive.
But the thing that Florida is and we saw last week,
now maybe that's just an arch man. Their defense is good,
they are a very good defense. It's just can their
offense not do the biggest disaster you know, all the
time every single week? Yeah, and that but that's that's

(53:42):
the really tough part about this. So I'm just gonna
go to Texas A and M and believe that that offense,
which has been I think really good this season with.

Speaker 3 (53:49):
Johnny, I'm gonna take A and M.

Speaker 8 (53:51):
Also, I'm gonna take A and M two and leave
it up to you to go full panel.

Speaker 2 (53:54):
Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna take my man, the greatest
coach nobody's ever heard of, Billy Napier far.

Speaker 5 (54:00):
Who could get fired if they look.

Speaker 3 (54:01):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (54:02):
Seven on NBC Big Ten Fun game, Michigan minus three
at home in the Big House against USC.

Speaker 3 (54:11):
I wonder if.

Speaker 5 (54:12):
USC has ever been to Michigan, didn't.

Speaker 3 (54:14):
I just tell you this line.

Speaker 6 (54:15):
USC has won one of the last fifteen games, coming
east soon.

Speaker 5 (54:21):
Minus three.

Speaker 3 (54:22):
I'm taking Michigan Michigan.

Speaker 5 (54:23):
That's what I have.

Speaker 3 (54:24):
What do you I have? Michigan plus three?

Speaker 6 (54:26):
Yeah, I think it was Michigan is getting points because yeah,
this is in USC, it's at USC.

Speaker 5 (54:30):
Oh, I bet my bat.

Speaker 6 (54:31):
That's all right, okay, So I gotta take that all back. Yeah,
my bet, because now I'm gonna take USC.

Speaker 5 (54:38):
Really well, USC minus the three. I love them.

Speaker 3 (54:42):
I think Michigan's decent. Yeah, neither of these teams are great.
They're they're both good teams.

Speaker 4 (54:47):
But I I have liked what I've seen from USC
more because even at Illinois game that was a tough
one on the road, they played great.

Speaker 3 (54:54):
They probably should have won that game. So I just
like the way the opp.

Speaker 6 (54:58):
Michigan quarterback as good as every but he's saying Johnny, he's.

Speaker 3 (55:01):
Good, but he's a freshman. It's definitely a freshman who's
he's a dual he's a dual threat. Yeah, du threat.

Speaker 4 (55:06):
But there's just there's a lot of misplays and you know,
kind of keeping it safe at times. But yeah, dual
threat guy. I just like the way USC's offense has been.
Always the thing with him and any Lincoln Riley team
is their defense.

Speaker 3 (55:18):
I don't think their defense.

Speaker 4 (55:19):
Was horrible against Illinois, just they were on the road.
But they're back at home now. Michigan has to go
on the road. USC just had a bye week. I
think the spot screams us.

Speaker 3 (55:28):
I'm taking Michigan plus three. I like their defense. Uh yeah.

Speaker 5 (55:31):
I want to see Lincoln Rilly win a big game.

Speaker 4 (55:33):
Yeah, yes, I think it's eventually going to happen.

Speaker 3 (55:37):
This year is where I'm I think this.

Speaker 4 (55:40):
I think so maybe I could be maybe I could
be absolutely wrong about Lincoln Riley's team this year, but
I think he.

Speaker 2 (55:49):
He's taking all the heavyweights. We gotta get a break. Well,
we'll do one more game, just yes or no. Georgia,
Mine is three and a half at over and that's
a seven thirty game.

Speaker 3 (55:59):
Mike, Wait, talk about teams.

Speaker 2 (56:01):
I don't trust Georgia minus three and a half. I'll
take Olburn Auburn plus the three and a half cop.
I'll take Georgia at Georgia.

Speaker 3 (56:08):
I don't know why I standing like that. I'm also
taking Georgia. Come on, Auburn. I'm with my We've taken
too many games together. That sounds yeah, Why am I
taking so many games of cot? Not a good song? Hey?

Speaker 8 (56:18):
I took the Giants that cover seven and a half
on Thursday. I'm going to take them out right though, No.

Speaker 3 (56:23):
I did not.

Speaker 2 (56:24):
I actually had a good week last week. Saturday bed

I thought in many Ways was very fortunate to win
the game. They were totally outplayed for three quarters and
then the Eagles.

Speaker 3 (59:24):
Just stopped playing.

Speaker 2 (59:26):
I love the fact that he went for two down
seventeen sixteen. The Jets are new coach, O coach, Any
coach doesn't really matter if there's still.

Speaker 6 (59:35):
The only team in the NFL history history or at
least back to the Super Bowl. Ere No, they have
not forced a turnover in five games. That's a defensive coach.
That's impressive. And they turned the ball over, right, John,
I mean they turned the ball over the goal line.

(59:56):
You're telling me, I'm telling you know what, You're games.

Speaker 4 (01:00:01):
No way you can bet him bets the Jets. Yeah,
I mean, like, I'm not saying that Jets can't covered
this game. What are you going to You're gonna put
your money on justin Field?

Speaker 6 (01:00:10):
It's Seven's a lot in the NFL, But my god, jeez,
it's the Jets.

Speaker 3 (01:00:18):
The Jets.

Speaker 8 (01:00:20):
I will I'll say Bonex hasn't been spectacular. He's been
good enough to win games. Broncos defense is great, They're
running running game's been doing enough to get them victories.

Speaker 3 (01:00:32):
With all that said, the Jet stink. So Seven's not enough,
not enough? What's you over under? I might lean under
forty three and a half.

Speaker 6 (01:00:39):
I would lean under because I don't think the Jets
are going to score very much at all in that game.

Speaker 3 (01:00:44):
Denver's defense is good. Yep, they're playing it for the
people that don't know it.

Speaker 2 (01:00:47):
Taught them Hot Spurs Stadium in London for those interested
in soccer and such.

Speaker 4 (01:00:53):
John, Yeah, I'm kind of struggling with this game because
I don't love Denver's offense all that much, and I
thought they were very poor against the US through three quarters.
But also the Jets might have one of the worst
defenses in football. It's not that they're not getting any
turnovers and not stopping anyone.

Speaker 3 (01:01:06):
They can't.

Speaker 4 (01:01:07):
They can't stop anything, so that that is a huge problem.
And of course even with an okay Bonix they should
be able to score a lot of points.

Speaker 3 (01:01:15):
Just can can the Jets?

Speaker 4 (01:01:16):
On the other end, they have gotten a time some
really good quarterback player at justin fields to move, but
they haven't lately. So I'm gonna go Broncos. I don't
absolutely love that though, and I actually would take the
over in this game.

Speaker 3 (01:01:26):
Weird enough Denver for me. At one o'clock games.

Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
Pittsburgh off of by plays Cleveland off a game in London,
could be in there minus five and a half. Dylan
Gabriel starts for Cleveland. Joe Flacco has been traded.

Speaker 6 (01:01:43):
Big loss for your favorites to win the AFC Central
or North.

Speaker 2 (01:01:47):
Yeah, I mean they should. It only came but a
winning record. Confidence in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 3 (01:01:54):
They not even a little bit.

Speaker 6 (01:01:56):
The Browns now the Browns defenses can be good.

Speaker 3 (01:02:00):
It is good. I hate this game.

Speaker 4 (01:02:02):
I think Pittsburgh should only had one win. They should
have lost against the Jets. They should have lost against
the New.

Speaker 5 (01:02:07):
England probably, Mike, you're taking here, You're taking nov.

Speaker 6 (01:02:11):
I'm look, you know what, I'm gonna take Cleveland. Yeah,
I'm gonna take the rookie quarterback. I think it's gonna
be a close game because those games usually are. Yeah,
and Pittsburgh they don't do anything for me.

Speaker 2 (01:02:23):
Yeah, they're better with Aaron Rodgers than they were last year, obviously,
But yeah, I don't like them either. I'll take Cleveland
plus the five and a half. I don't like the
fact that they're coming back from London. That's a little discouraging,
but it's first time ever a team coming back from
overseas has to play a team coming off of bye
in the history day.

Speaker 3 (01:02:40):
Oh yeah, I don't like that. It's not good yea
for those interested in such things, Kyle.

Speaker 8 (01:02:45):
Yeah, for that reason exactly, I'm gonna take Pittsburgh here
minus six.

Speaker 3 (01:02:49):
I don't love it.

Speaker 8 (01:02:50):
This game stinks. It's disgusting. Over unders thirty eight and
a half. So that tells you everything you need to know, yeh.
But yeah, the whole travel situation and bids the reason
I'm taking Pittsburgh.

Speaker 4 (01:02:59):
John, I'm going to take Pittsburgh because at least Aaron
Rodgers has and has the ability to and has the
playmakers to push the ball downfield to make plays. It
is going to be the biggest struggle with Cleveland with
Dylan Gabriel as their quarterback. And I get right now
that they need to because Shadora does have a problem
with holding onto the ball and it creates a lot
of negative plays. But Dylan Gabriel, once he tries to

(01:03:21):
throw the ball more than ten yards down the field,
he gets wildly inaccurate because he just has a pea
shooter of it off.

Speaker 3 (01:03:27):
It's not good enough.

Speaker 4 (01:03:28):
He overthrew completely was mistargeted on so many balls deep
down the field. And if that's the case and he
can't push it down the field, they just will be
limited so much.

Speaker 3 (01:03:38):
I hate it. I don't like the offense there. I'm
going Pittsburgh.

Speaker 2 (01:03:43):
Miami at home against the Chargers. Chargers minus four.

Speaker 5 (01:03:48):
That right, Yes, I hate Miami.

Speaker 2 (01:03:51):
Last week it has Carolina beaten on the road and
starting to score and they blow the game at the end.

Speaker 3 (01:03:58):
They showed a weird week.

Speaker 6 (01:04:00):
They got some offensive lineman out, I think too, if
I'm not mistaken.

Speaker 3 (01:04:04):
Yeah, Miami turnovers at the wrong time.

Speaker 2 (01:04:07):
The coach is probably one more, could be one more
loss from being gone. Uh, John will start with you
Chargers minus four.

Speaker 3 (01:04:13):
No, Tyree in Miami. Good.

Speaker 5 (01:04:16):
Obviously Tree come back here.

Speaker 3 (01:04:19):
He must also.

Speaker 4 (01:04:20):
I hope he breaks his other leg. Garbage human being. By
the way, some of the came so yeah, I have
to say that real quick. Marion Hampton's out on I
R so the running game is just it's got nothing.
Najia Harris is out for the year. Amaron Hampton's gonna
be out for a few weeks.

Speaker 6 (01:04:37):
Charges injuries to right the charge we're talking about. Yes,
you said Naja, how ors somethinking? Why so they're starting
a guy named Haskin.

Speaker 4 (01:04:47):
Yeah, I have no idea. There's just not a lot
there for for the Chargers in the running games. So
it's relying on a passing game that has a problem
because their offensive line is really bad and Justin Herbert
has been sacked.

Speaker 3 (01:04:58):
I think more than anybody in the.

Speaker 6 (01:05:00):
Harbor is Harbor and Herbert losing this game? Probably not,
And that's the whole problem. That's that's what you're lessing four,
so you could lose.

Speaker 4 (01:05:09):
That's that's why all those things start to come into
play with the four and a half.

Speaker 8 (01:05:12):
But I would still probably lean the Chargers. Kyle, Yeah,
I'm gonna lean the Chargers here. I made the mistake
of taking Miami to even cover last week. They're just
they're so bad, they're so lost. McDaniel's gonna be gone
sooner rather than later. I think the Chargers are just
obviously the better team here, so I don't I don't
have a problem lay in the four.

Speaker 3 (01:05:30):
Mike.

Speaker 6 (01:05:31):
I'm gonna go against all my wisdom and I'm gonna
take the Dolphins.

Speaker 3 (01:05:34):
No, I'm in trouble.

Speaker 5 (01:05:38):
No selection for me. That's fair as predicted.

Speaker 2 (01:05:42):
Last week, New England went to Buffalo, won the game outright. Uh,
New England minus three and a half at New Orleans,
which has been very competitive in almost all of their games.

Speaker 3 (01:05:54):
Could New England do it two weeks in a row? Mine,
I am going to take the Saints. I think it's
a tough spot. I like New England, I like Vrabel.
I think he's going to be fine there.

Speaker 2 (01:06:04):
Quarterback looks like he's he's.

Speaker 5 (01:06:07):
In the right direction rapidly.

Speaker 6 (01:06:09):
I just I just think the guy in New Orleans
is doing a decent job. I'm not saying that maybe
win the game, but that to me just strikes me.
It's gonna be a field goal at the end by somebody.
I'll take the three and a half plan.

Speaker 2 (01:06:20):
Can New England react well to their upset win in
Buffalo and like, actually like a serious team here right now?
They're in competition for a playoffs spot? John, your thoughts
so on the Patriots in the Super.

Speaker 4 (01:06:33):
I just think it's it's maybe a little bit too
much love for New England early on. It's a it's
a good team and like, definitely Drake May has taken
a few steps.

Speaker 3 (01:06:39):
What we do John and yeah, oh.

Speaker 4 (01:06:41):
Yeah, that's because I've heard things like, well, New England's
now a contender, Like I don't know that offense still,
like I'm not in love with Ron J. Stevenson, and
like the division absolutely, and like I like the things that.

Speaker 6 (01:06:55):
The five of us could finished second, right, but that
puts you in contention for the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (01:06:59):
They I think they can't make the playoffs, but like
they've been talking about, it's like contenders of this whole thing,
Like I don't know if I can go there, So
it's a little too far. And so I think New
Orleans has actually been competitive. I don't know what that means,
and especially when it comes to picking them on the spread,
but I'll take New Orleans at home.

Speaker 3 (01:07:17):
Yeah, I think it's a tough spot for New England here.

Speaker 8 (01:07:19):
I know it's the Saints, they're not good, but you're
still traveling to New Orleans. I think there's, to John's point,
a lot more hype than there should be around New England.

Speaker 3 (01:07:28):
Now.

Speaker 8 (01:07:28):
Will they be a borderline playoff team, probably, but they
got to figure out that run game, and outside of
Stefan Dix, they had no playmakers. He was great, He
was great in his return to Buffalo. But yeah, I
just think New England again doesn't have enough playmakers. I
think the Saints covered the three and a half at least.
But to your point, Dick, I think it's gonna be

(01:07:49):
a three point game either way.

Speaker 3 (01:07:50):
Yeah, I'll take New Orleans.

Speaker 2 (01:07:52):
Also, I think the theory here is New England beat Buffalo,
so everybody's overreacting.

Speaker 5 (01:07:56):
Yeah, I think Buffalo is a fraud. I just don't
think Buffalo is that all good.

Speaker 3 (01:08:00):
All four of us took Spencer Rattler.

Speaker 4 (01:08:02):
After he just got his first win team, his first
in the eleven starts.

Speaker 6 (01:08:08):
I think Buffalo is going to probably be the number
one seed in THEFC only because their schedule is really
but I agree with that. I just don't say I
think they're good, but I don't Their defense leaves a
lot to be desired.

Speaker 2 (01:08:19):
I think it's a bad defense. Yeah, fans of Buffalo
go'll be disappointed again. Yeah, speaking of disappointing, the Ravens
are giving up forty points a game. Hey what, And
I know that Lamar Jackson isn't playing, but this is absurd.
The Rams are minus seven and a half in Baltimore
tomorrow against the Ravens who've got boat raced?

Speaker 3 (01:08:42):
Could you teams the Ravens? You could?

Speaker 6 (01:08:46):
What's the overrunner in that one, Kyle, Well, the Rams
might score forty.

Speaker 3 (01:08:54):
You might want to look at the over in that game.

Speaker 6 (01:08:56):
I'm serious. I mean you just said they're averaging. They're
giving up four the game, right, correct?

Speaker 4 (01:09:01):
Okay, I'm gonna Matthew Safford has a chance to just
put up number wild.

Speaker 3 (01:09:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:09:07):
At the best defensive football two years ago.

Speaker 3 (01:09:09):
Now they have the worst. They had the best team
in football two.

Speaker 5 (01:09:12):
Years ago, I'm aware.

Speaker 4 (01:09:14):
And the Rams defense is pretty good. So Cooper Rush
had some problems last week, and I imagine it's gonna
be the.

Speaker 3 (01:09:19):
Same because it's Cooper Rush.

Speaker 5 (01:09:20):
True, are we were unanimous?

Speaker 8 (01:09:24):
Anybody is taking Baltimore? You outright, I'm taking Baltimore out right.
It only plus three hundred, so.

Speaker 3 (01:09:31):
I don't think so. All Right, here we have the
game of the day.

Speaker 2 (01:09:36):
Uh, the team that shall not be named minus seven
and a half against the.

Speaker 5 (01:09:39):
Team I will never name it again, Arizon.

Speaker 3 (01:09:43):
Just brutal.

Speaker 2 (01:09:44):
This is the Futers teams in the capital City of Indiana,
most by the way, in my future. On December of
the ninth, you'll be happy to now I might fly
out for that. I just booked a flight to Indianapolis.
I got a game in Bloomington that The game is
at eight point thirty four o'clock post time at Saint
Elmo's in the hour cocktail.

Speaker 5 (01:10:06):
Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (01:10:07):
Uh, Actually the team in Indianapolis playing really well. Yes,
Daniel Jones comeback Player of the Year m VP.

Speaker 6 (01:10:17):
All you gotta do is get off the Giants and
you become offensive player.

Speaker 3 (01:10:22):
Just added New York and Jets.

Speaker 5 (01:10:23):
Yeah, Arizona is I hate What did I tell you this?

Speaker 3 (01:10:28):
I hate Arizona. Tyler Mary is so overrated. He's straight
turned young.

Speaker 5 (01:10:33):
You're an embarrassment.

Speaker 3 (01:10:35):
What's the line seven and seven? I gotta take the Colts, John,
I guess said.

Speaker 4 (01:10:41):
Kyler Murray is playing just like fine, Okay, he but
he he is their leading rusher, so they have no
running game. I think Drew Petsing might just be a
bad offensive coach.

Speaker 3 (01:10:49):
And they could.

Speaker 4 (01:10:51):
Yeah, they they absolutely can. But with the way the
Colts are playing, I just don't I don't want to
test that. So I'm going Indiana.

Speaker 6 (01:10:58):
This is the two former egal assistants, right, Yeah, I
gotta go to the court I hate Arizona.

Speaker 1 (01:11:04):
I hate him.

Speaker 3 (01:11:04):
I hate him. I hate him.

Speaker 6 (01:11:05):
That's why you're gonna cover Kyle, because we're all gonna
be the Colts and you're gonna lose.

Speaker 3 (01:11:08):
Like, can you take Arizona after what happened? What did you?

Speaker 5 (01:11:12):
I'm sorry? What did you said?

Speaker 3 (01:11:14):
You said two.

Speaker 2 (01:11:15):
Things, We're all going to do something, and you mentioned
the team of the chill Uppe name.

Speaker 3 (01:11:19):
It's not a good it's not good, Daniel. Can we
rename them? Here's my opinion.

Speaker 6 (01:11:23):
We renamed them that the Saint Almos the Indianapolis.

Speaker 5 (01:11:27):
That's fine.

Speaker 3 (01:11:29):
Both teams should be relegated in my opinion. Get him matter.

Speaker 2 (01:11:33):
Jacksonville. Last I saw I had minus a half a
point at home against Seattle.

Speaker 4 (01:11:37):
I think it's not the one and a half Seattle.
Seattle's now Seattle is a one point favorite. Goodness one Jacksonville.

Speaker 3 (01:11:44):
Four and one.

Speaker 2 (01:11:44):
It's an interesting game with those Jacksonville's uh John squad. Finally, John,
your your expert on the Jaguars, your thoughts.

Speaker 4 (01:11:55):
It played three pretty good defenses too along the way,
and Trevor Lawrence Is probably had his two best games
of the season in the last two against San Francisco
and Kansas City. I think a lot of what we
see is still though, an early coach and a team
that's still trying to get everything together, because there's a
lot of like nervy plays, like nervousness. Liam Cohen's making
some weird decisions, Trevor Lawrence has made some weird decisions,

(01:12:18):
and it you know, there's some missed plays at times
from the wide receivers and it just all is a
little bit still. It's good and you can tell that
it's getting to a point, but maybe not there yet.
I guess what you have to figure out. Do you
like the matchup of Jacksonville Secondary against Seattle's passing game
which has looked very good lately with Sam Darnold, And
I think Seattle is probably the play here, but I

(01:12:39):
can't do it. I'm actually gonna go Jacksonville. I think
things are getting better and better, and I know we
look at the oh, well, they're making mistakes still and
they shouldn't have won the game against Kansas City. But
also you've seen a lot of these games. It is
getting to a point where it's getting rid.

Speaker 5 (01:12:53):
Shah had a bye last week, right.

Speaker 3 (01:12:55):
They played, they had one of the best games.

Speaker 2 (01:13:00):
Yeah, yeah, I'll take Seattle. I'm not buying the thing
in this to me. And we said this, how does
Jacksonville react from that game? I mean that was maybe
their biggest win and I don't know a few years
at least, right, Yeah, and.

Speaker 6 (01:13:16):
I want to take Jacksonville so bad in this game. Yeah,
you guys took Seattle. I'll take Jacksonville.

Speaker 3 (01:13:21):
What the heckened, I'm taking Seattle. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:13:24):
Jacksonville's just I know the four and one, but they're
still just too sloppy for me.

Speaker 2 (01:13:28):
Yeah, final one o'clock game. You can make a case.
The quarterback of Dallas is playing as well as anybody.
He's been great.

Speaker 3 (01:13:35):
Dak minus three at Carolina. Fierce Carolina. Yeah, I mean
Carolina's they've actually won two games. Well, the running back
said they better buckle up their chin strap.

Speaker 4 (01:13:45):
Sure, and he I hopefully could back it up because
he had a great game last week. Greco Daddle had
overlast week two of their last three.

Speaker 5 (01:13:53):
Dallas' defense is not good, no terrible.

Speaker 6 (01:13:56):
I'm gonna I'm gonna ride Daka.

Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
I've been very impressed. They're they're obviously a playoff caliber.

Speaker 6 (01:14:04):
Right now as we speak the two probably leading MVP
candidates or the quarterback on the Bucks and dak Ye
and the guy in the Colts, and the guy in
the Colts said, yeah, why did you do that?

Speaker 3 (01:14:16):
I did it just because I wanted people to know that.

Speaker 6 (01:14:18):
But those three guys probably right now are probably the
three leading MVP guy Not that that means they're going
to be ten.

Speaker 5 (01:14:25):
Weeks from now, but they would be in the hunt.
You got a thought on this contest?

Speaker 8 (01:14:30):
Yeah, I mean Dallas is coming off of the Mini bye.
After that, what's also could have been Game of the
Year if it didn't end in a.

Speaker 3 (01:14:37):
Time Yeah, all right, forgotten about that.

Speaker 8 (01:14:40):
Yeah, uh so coming off the Mini bye, I got
a rod deck.

Speaker 2 (01:14:45):
They played last week, they played the Giants. They wanted
New York Jets.

Speaker 6 (01:14:49):
They played the Jets last last Sunday, they crunched the
Jets in the metal ash.

Speaker 3 (01:14:54):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 8 (01:14:55):
Yeah, I'm losing my h We're all losing our minds.
I'm losing losing I've been in such us. We're all
in such like Phillies mode. It's like everything else is second. Yeah. Well,
either way, I'm gonna ride with what Mike Current said.
I gotta go with Dak Prescott here, he's playing at
an MVP caliber. And again it's Carolina. I know they're hot, John, Yeah,

(01:15:19):
I don't. I don't understand a half. I don't understand.

Speaker 3 (01:15:21):
I mean, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:15:22):
Dallas defense is that bad and that's just a Dallas.
Dallas is just an okay team. For as well as
Dak is playing, that doesn't mean they've been awesome in
these games. Finally, the Jets, maybe they put something together
and the scores a little bit closer than it should
have been thirty seven to twenty two. But this is
a team that kept the Giants in it. When Russell
Wilson was there, Chicago beat them pretty easily. They tied
Green Bay. So it's like it's all close games, it's

(01:15:44):
all weird games, and they there's a chance they absolutely
could lose there. There was a blueprint here where they
could lose the air.

Speaker 3 (01:15:49):
Loss to the Giants if the guy didn't kick the
sixty four yards.

Speaker 4 (01:15:52):
Absolutely so, I I actually would take Carolina just because
I think they do have something there with Rico Daldo
on if they run the ball well, so revenge game,
I just think there's gonna be a lot of scoring
and this is gonna be I think Michael.

Speaker 3 (01:16:04):
Parsons is gonna have a big game for Dallas or not,
get after Bryce Young or not.

Speaker 4 (01:16:10):
But you know, Dallas traded them away so they could
stop the run, and well they can't do that either.

Speaker 3 (01:16:15):
So, by the way, I don't know why I felt
that Dallas.

Speaker 4 (01:16:17):
It was a Thursday that's already happened.

Speaker 3 (01:16:21):
Yeah, before we get to the.

Speaker 2 (01:16:24):
Next break, and then we'll get to the late NFL games,
Mike said, your elder Philadelphia statesman here, You've been here
longer than anybody.

Speaker 3 (01:16:34):
Where are these last.

Speaker 2 (01:16:36):
Five days rank in Philadelphia sports history?

Speaker 3 (01:16:39):
Starting last Saturday night to Thursday night? And your estimation
you've seen all of this means you mentioned some of
the Merlin roight.

Speaker 6 (01:16:47):
I mean, as a one time disaster, I don't think
the Phillies thing would stand with some of the other
ones I've seen because some of your ones I've seen
the teams were better, and they but when you when
you couple with the bizarreness of how it ended, which
you can't make that. I mean, I saw Black Friday
when they were two runs off with two outs and

(01:17:09):
nobody on base.

Speaker 3 (01:17:11):
He runs up with two outs and nobody.

Speaker 6 (01:17:13):
They were up five to three to win, to win,
to go up two to one with Carlton go in
the next night and Vic Davilio lays down a bunch
beats it out. They're playing the Dodgers, playing the Dodgers,
the manager. The manager kept Greg Lozinski and left field
instead of taking him out for Jerry Martin. Then they
had the playoff Schmid's Glove where they threw the guy

(01:17:33):
and technically the replays all showed he was out, but
the un called him safe and it was just And
then the next night they lost four to one in
the rain, and then you know whatever, yeah, because you
had the Eagles playing two donkeys mixed in and it
was how the Phillies lost.

Speaker 2 (01:17:48):
They could have won Game one Philly Phillies blew the lead.
In Game one, Eagles blow the lady again.

Speaker 6 (01:17:53):
But the game two, I'm into Kansas City Airport, right
so I'm sitting there and I'm getting on the plane
as this happening. I'm trying to figure out and one
of my friends texted unbelievable and I'm like, okay, well,
I mean you have to run her own second with
nobody out, you can't get him home. And then the
manager we were playing for a tie, dude, playing for
a time. No, that's that's the rationale in baseball, colesh.

(01:18:16):
You're the home team, you play for the tie. You
had the last at back. But my god, and then
I don't know if I would have bunt stop.

Speaker 2 (01:18:25):
And then I think the theory on Stott was he's
terrible against left handed and trying to get it.

Speaker 3 (01:18:31):
But Castio, I just don't know what a bunt would
have done for you. Probably not. I just don't know
how much it would have helped.

Speaker 2 (01:18:37):
My theory is very simple to the analytics. You have
three chances to get a single for one chance to
get a sacrifice fly.

Speaker 3 (01:18:44):
That's just playing scared. You're playing scared.

Speaker 6 (01:18:47):
It makes no sense to well. I think they got overwhelmed.
Like when Caslono hits the double, it was like, oh
my god, like now now was on we go for man?
Maybe to yeah, And I think the manager and I
don't know if it was his, if somebody, I don't
have the things I did. If I was, I think
Stot should have bunted the ball towards first. Now I

(01:19:07):
understand why he bunted the hurt he said, Freeman was
like two feet away from him. No, I get all that,
but again, the Dodgers made the play. That's they made
the play, and.

Speaker 8 (01:19:16):
He can't set that up and then not and not
pinch run for Casianos. I know what Topper's response was,
but if you're playing to score for the tie in
that situation, you have to go all out for it.

Speaker 6 (01:19:26):
But again, how many times was Harper up in this series?
Late in the games he struck out.

Speaker 2 (01:19:31):
As non competitive on a lot of those. Yeah, he
looks he looks so very un Bryce Harper. Locked, he
looked anxious, and it's not him, you know what, I
very relaxed and cool when he wasn't at all. And
again he came back from his injury whatever.

Speaker 3 (01:19:44):
I don't know. Maybe he's been hurt though, maybe he's
been hurt Bryce Harper.

Speaker 6 (01:19:48):
And I'm gonna tell you the biggest difference I think
from like three years ago. He does not get around
on fastballs like he used to know. And that's a
problem because if people now can throw a fastball by you,
well that makes all those their pitches in the dirt
that much harder to hit. Absolutely, And is he still
Bryce Harper? Yeah, I mean, is he still But I'm
telling you, man, going forward of Bryce like seven.

Speaker 3 (01:20:12):
No, No.

Speaker 6 (01:20:12):
Five, Turner has thirteen, No, thirteen seasons, he's got six more.
He's been your seven. And there were people in Philadelphia
thought they'd have two World Series by now.

Speaker 3 (01:20:22):
Yeah, for sure, but you know, been in one one
none other than that.

Speaker 2 (01:20:27):
We're gonna take a break, then we'll be back with
the final NFL games and whatever else might pay.

Speaker 3 (01:20:34):
You know, it's so hilarious, real quick.

Speaker 6 (01:20:36):
All this we talk about, we got to get the
home field, we got to get the buck, and I'm.

Speaker 3 (01:20:40):

Speaker 5 (01:20:45):

advanced to the National.

Speaker 3 (01:22:57):
Will want to watch, and I don't know how you
can play. You've had about flouridos already.

Speaker 2 (01:23:02):
In the Allegian Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, Las Vegas
minus four and a half over Tennessee.

Speaker 3 (01:23:11):
Kyle.

Speaker 5 (01:23:12):
We'll start with you just because you love these two teams.

Speaker 8 (01:23:14):
I love these two teams so much. I don't think
the Raiders should be favored by four against anybody, even
if it is the Tennessee Titans. I'll take the Titans
to cover and win three nothing.

Speaker 2 (01:23:29):
I'll take Las Vegas because I hate Tennessee. I'll hate
them forever and now after what happened last week, I
hope they never won another game.

Speaker 3 (01:23:37):
Gino Smith nine picks through five weeks. What's your overonderkoff
been horrible? Two forty one and a half.

Speaker 2 (01:23:47):
I'll take on the biker's ticket. Like you got a
thought on these two sad seck squads.

Speaker 4 (01:23:53):
Yeah, I just think, get whatever points you can in
this game, and so since Tennessee's getting too.

Speaker 3 (01:23:57):
Points, I'll just I agree with you.

Speaker 4 (01:23:59):
See, I agree with that these are too bad offense,
and he pick is just by default. Yeah, by default,
I mean Gino Smith has been awful. He looks completely
done and all of his fault they have no weapons
and they all have brought bowers and that's there. I
don't know what he can do if he was being on.

Speaker 3 (01:24:16):
A real game.

Speaker 2 (01:24:17):
Tampa Bay at home minus three against San Francisco.

Speaker 3 (01:24:20):
Good game to the quarterbacks, Matt Jones, Jonson no, no,
no no. I thought the TV quarterback was banged up
a little too, uh, Baker, I haven't heard that. That's fine.

Speaker 6 (01:24:33):
This is in Tampa. What's Mike Evans situation? He's out,
Godwin's also out. Yeah, you know what Bucky Irving's also out. Yeah,
I'm gonna take for that reason. I love Baker, I
love what he's doing. I'm gonna take the the forty
Niners because I think their quarterback is going to play well,
because that coach good.

Speaker 3 (01:24:51):
Yeah, and the game is probably.

Speaker 6 (01:24:52):
Going to come down to a field goal, right, because
every game that the Bucks play comes down to I'll
take the forty nine.

Speaker 2 (01:24:58):
I'm taking Tampa Bay at I don't care is playing
as long as Baker's playing.

Speaker 8 (01:25:01):
Uh yeah, they got Baker, and you got the rookie
sensation and Richard Waite is serviceable.

Speaker 3 (01:25:09):
I'll ride Tampa Bay at home minus three.

Speaker 4 (01:25:11):
Yep, John, So their margins of victories so far this
season three points, one point, two points, three point.

Speaker 5 (01:25:19):
They have not covered this spread. Yes, San Francis, they
won the game.

Speaker 3 (01:25:22):
They won the game.

Speaker 4 (01:25:23):
They did, but you gotta remember that being said, I'm
taking just because San Francisco has the best player on
the field in Christian MCCAFFEROI.

Speaker 3 (01:25:30):
Playing receiver for Tampa is really good. Yeah, is great.

Speaker 5 (01:25:34):
It's awesome.

Speaker 3 (01:25:36):
Course, But Christian.

Speaker 4 (01:25:37):
McCaffrey leads San Francisco with three hundred and eighty seven
receiving yards, and he also has two hundred and eighty
two yards rushing.

Speaker 3 (01:25:43):
I like the best player on the field.

Speaker 4 (01:25:45):
Yeah, Bay linebackers aren't good and they give up a
ton to running backs and tight ends.

Speaker 3 (01:25:51):
Not a good game for that to happen.

Speaker 2 (01:25:52):
I like Baker is the best player on the field
at this moment. All right, here's the game. We'll keep score,
just so I can really be irritated at the end
of this I would be taking.

Speaker 3 (01:26:02):
Green Bay of Arizona.

Speaker 2 (01:26:04):
Ad and a happened last week and my pool fourteen
and a half at home against oh that would.

Speaker 3 (01:26:08):
Have been your pick.

Speaker 2 (01:26:09):
Yeah, obviously Joe Flacco. I hadn't picked him yet. I'll
do it every week just so we could have a
laugh at the end when I would have won the
poll these idiots from Arizona.

Speaker 5 (01:26:17):
Of course, I wasn't the only one that took him.

Speaker 2 (01:26:19):
In my pool last week, but anyway, Green Bay minus
fourteen and a half over the sad sack Bengals at
Lampeau Field.

Speaker 4 (01:26:26):
John No way, I could take Joe Flacco and over
forty year old quarterback who has been turning the ball
over at an alarming rate playing behind the worst offensive
line of football with a half a week, with a
half week of practice and micah.

Speaker 3 (01:26:41):
But fourteen to half is a big number, man, it is.

Speaker 4 (01:26:45):
This is one of those where I think Cincinnati's gonna
make enough mistakes for it to happen.

Speaker 3 (01:26:49):
So, yeah, I'm going Green Kyle.

Speaker 8 (01:26:52):
If I'm not mistaken, aren't Browning and Flacco both top
five and interceptions this year?

Speaker 3 (01:26:57):
Impression?

Speaker 8 (01:27:00):
You gotta go green Bay here minus fourteen and a half.
I don't care what the point spread is. Cincinnati's defense
is terrible and Joe Flacco is eighty seven years.

Speaker 2 (01:27:10):
Yeah, I've seen enough of flat I've seen enough of Cincinnati.

Speaker 3 (01:27:13):
I mean, he's got.

Speaker 5 (01:27:14):
Two of the best receivers in football.

Speaker 3 (01:27:16):
But I don't care who we are. What happened to
Chase brown You can't throw.

Speaker 2 (01:27:19):
It out there, and you got no time to throw,
and you can't throw because you're eighty eight years old.

Speaker 3 (01:27:26):
It's a problem.

Speaker 2 (01:27:28):
I will take green Bay giving the two touchdowns and
a half point.

Speaker 6 (01:27:31):
But I'll take the half point. I'll tell I'll just
be different. I'll take the Cincinnatis to lose by fourteen.

Speaker 2 (01:27:36):
Well done outright, be down thirty five to seven and
score two late touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (01:27:42):
I got agree free interceptions, three touchdowns. I don't even
know if they can do that.

Speaker 2 (01:27:45):
They probably can't. Game of the Day, Sunday Night Football.
I'm a little surprised that by this spread, be honest
with you, Kansas City's favored by two and a half
against Detroit.

Speaker 3 (01:27:59):
I mean, Kansas City was a dog at a home.

Speaker 2 (01:28:00):
Against the Eagles, a little little different team for two
and three. Detroit is not winning games. No, they're slaughtering people.

Speaker 3 (01:28:11):
I'm gonna take k City.

Speaker 6 (01:28:13):
I think the line is trying to tell me something,
and I love I love Detroit. I mean this is
a game where they could but Kansas City has looked
better of moving the ball. I think they can move.
I think it's going to be a fairly high scoring game.
I don't think it's gonna be a low scoring game.

Speaker 2 (01:28:29):
I'll just take a shot with Kansas City. Yeah, there's
what I like about Detroit. And addition to having the
best offense in football, their defense with eight nutdchetson back
and playing, is like a solid, very good defense right now.
I think there's I still have some questions about Kansas
City's offense.

Speaker 3 (01:28:47):
I don't doubt that I don't doubt their defense.

Speaker 2 (01:28:49):
I just think Detroit is better than Kansas City, and
I'm getting two and a half. I don't particularly care
where the game is. Everybody is irrelevant to me. I'll
take the two. The best thing about Detroit they don't care.
They get it from the coach.

Speaker 6 (01:29:04):
They It's a little bit like Diagles sometimes, like when
Syriani's like, you know, he just.

Speaker 5 (01:29:08):
They don't care. Now they're just going They're just going
for it.

Speaker 3 (01:29:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:29:13):
The only time he blew it, only the one time
when he should have kicked the field goal in the
NFC Championship game that was is stupid.

Speaker 3 (01:29:19):
He can't count.

Speaker 2 (01:29:20):
But other than that, I love Dan Campbell. I love
watching his teams play, and I love how he coached.
They missed those coordinations, no fear and all. Yeah, they
really do, don't they It's all about players. Let's steal
in reality and sports coaches are fine. And he got
no players, asked Bill Belichick, who Kyle exactly?

Speaker 5 (01:29:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:29:38):
I think the only reason it's the Chiefs home factor.
It's the only classical reason why they're minus two and
a half. And I can't buy into that. Kansas City
is just not the same team. On offense, Travis Kelsey's
another year older. I know they have that Thornton guy
that's kind of coming up. And until they get their
their other receivers back and completely healthy, the Chiefs offense

(01:30:00):
is just kind of hard to watch.

Speaker 3 (01:30:01):
If this game were in.

Speaker 6 (01:30:02):
Detroit, what's the line three and a half? Detroit probably
three three three, and I still.

Speaker 3 (01:30:08):
Don't that's all. That's almost a six point swing.

Speaker 8 (01:30:11):
Yeah, I gotta go with Detroit. I mean, they're the
honest team right now.

Speaker 2 (01:30:14):
I think that's a bad spread. I mean, I get it,
it's stayed there people. They've obviously put it up there.
But man, the choice definitely the better team.

Speaker 8 (01:30:24):
There's no too much to handle for Kansas but is
it though, I don't know if it is that much
to hand.

Speaker 3 (01:30:30):
I mean, it's a lot and field too much to handle.

Speaker 4 (01:30:32):
Yeah, But also Kansas City outplayed Jacksonville and really it
was one crazy which is the great thing that Jacksonville
has been doing. They do have a great I think
both coordinators have been really good, Liam Cohen and then
I forget their defensive coordinator's name, but they basically played
a chess match against Patrick Mahomes in one which you
don't do all time with that sick the entire game,
because Kansas City was moving ball well and the last

(01:30:54):
three games, I think Patrick mahone has been playing out
of his mind. So I think Kansas City not only
has a chance, I think I think they're playing really well.

Speaker 3 (01:31:01):
So I'm going to take Kansas City in this game.

Speaker 2 (01:31:04):
Detroity is Mike, Okay, Yeah, I think Kansas City.

Speaker 3 (01:31:08):
I think they're they're done. You think Kansas City is
playing well?

Speaker 5 (01:31:10):
Yes, two and four for the Chiefs, I've done is
the wrong word.

Speaker 3 (01:31:15):
They can obviously still make the playoffs because they're the
Chiefs and they do things and they're.

Speaker 5 (01:31:19):
Always in the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (01:31:20):
But tell you what, if the Chiefs win this game,
they're three and they're back.

Speaker 6 (01:31:24):
No, but I mean, I'm just saying they're yeah, fine,
they're still the Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (01:31:28):
Yeah, No, I don't think they are. Well, you're right,
I'm right in Detroit. If they lose, they have a
chance to be tied with the Raiders in.

Speaker 2 (01:31:34):
This kind of a sad SEC operation. Do we have
two Monday night games that I write that down correctly?

Speaker 3 (01:31:39):
Yes? Right? Is that going to be happening like the
rest of the year is a thing. I think this
might be the last week, but I'm not sure.

Speaker 4 (01:31:45):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:31:45):
Thank god, Buffalo minus five still at Atlanta.

Speaker 3 (01:31:49):
I got four and a half. I'm taking Atlanta bed parks.

Speaker 5 (01:31:53):
Did I ask you yet?

Speaker 6 (01:31:54):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:31:54):
I didn't think so. I don't need to.

Speaker 6 (01:31:57):
I think Atlanta is a good team. I agree with
everything Dick says about Buffalo, and I like Josh Allen.

Speaker 5 (01:32:04):
I don't like Josh Allen.

Speaker 6 (01:32:05):
There's something quite not right with them, and I think
this is a tough spot for him because I think
Atlanta can be pretty good.

Speaker 3 (01:32:13):
Sometimes I'm gonna take Atlanta sometimes sometimes not all the time, right.

Speaker 4 (01:32:17):
I like the other times they lose thirty nothing to Carolina,
Yes they do.

Speaker 2 (01:32:21):
If you can put an X through that, which is
hard to do. I'll take Atlanta plus the four and
a half at home Monday night football. Buffalo coming off
their first l if. They've been basically playing nobody's and
they've been home the whole time. They're kind of like
out of Missouri, except Missouri has actually won all their games.

Speaker 3 (01:32:39):
Got Yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:32:41):
I still think Buffalo wins this game to bounce back
from last week.

Speaker 3 (01:32:47):
But I don't like the point spread.

Speaker 8 (01:32:50):
I think it's too high in Buffalo's favor, so I
will take Atlanta to cover at home. I don't think
they win the game though, John, I don't think moving
the ball is too big of a problem for Atlanta.

Speaker 4 (01:32:59):
It's just a time just like they just don't capitalize
on good drives and if you do that against Buffalo,
that is that is tough to be and New England
started to capitalize. That was the biggest problem when they
lost to Pittsburgh. They fumbled twice in the red zone.
So I think Buffalo does win this game, and I
think they will cover too, just because of.

Speaker 2 (01:33:15):
Hey final game Washington at home minus four and a half.

Speaker 3 (01:33:22):
Against Chicago and Hill Marry game.

Speaker 2 (01:33:25):
People remember this is a game that was the end
of the line for the Bears.

Speaker 3 (01:33:29):
Last year and the start of the Commanders getting correct.
You know, they want on a miracle.

Speaker 2 (01:33:35):
At the end of that game, it looked like Caleb
Williams had come back home. For the people that don't know,
he played at Gonzaga High School, which is right downtown
in DC, not far from Capitol Hill before.

Speaker 3 (01:33:46):
Going to Oklahoma and USC.

Speaker 2 (01:33:49):
Washington very good road win last week against the charge
A or the Rams.

Speaker 5 (01:33:54):
Souit did they be.

Speaker 3 (01:33:57):
Very impressive.

Speaker 2 (01:34:00):
We'll start with you Washington minus four and am still Yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:34:06):
I'm kind of buying into the Bears a little bit
coming off of bye. Just another week of Ben Johnson
working with Caleb Williams, Yeah, and an offense that has talent.
I don't know if they win this game, but I
like the Bears to make it an entertaining one and
I think it could go either way. So in that case,

(01:34:26):
I'm gonna take the plus four and a half in
the Bears favor.

Speaker 4 (01:34:28):
John I actually have been impressed by the Bears. I
think it's been good both offensively and defensively, because that's
been a problem too, is just how is their defense
going to be? We thought it could come into the
year good, didn't start off well, and the last two
have been solid. They even played Dallas in that and
like play Dallas really well. Well.

Speaker 8 (01:34:46):
They struggled against the Raiders and the old Bears would
probably crumble in them, but they Yeah, they came back
and did what they needed to do to win the game.

Speaker 4 (01:34:52):
I think week to week it's been getting better with
Caleb Williams. I'm gonna take my chance here just because
on offense too, there's a bit of some injuries. Tara
mclaurin's not playing again, and so eventually I think that's
going to hurt their offense. Jade Daniels played extremely well
against the Chargers, so I don't want to I don't
want to dismiss that. That was great to see because
I thought he was just okay before he got injured.
That was like a Jayde Daniels performance from last year.

(01:35:15):
But still, I think Chicago might be just as good
as Washington right now. So I'll take the Bears getting
the points here.

Speaker 6 (01:35:21):
Right I'm with those guys. I think I like it's funny.
I like Washington, I really do. I'm a Jayden fan,
but I think this could be a close game. And again,
coming off the buy, I don't know how much last
year's game plays into this year's game. Maybe not at all,
but I think it could be a close game. I'll
take the Bears.

Speaker 2 (01:35:41):
I will take Washington, but Bears absolutely good win. Yeah,
all right, final ten minutes or so. Let's see we
did it earlier. But let's no no, no, no, absolutely no
stop stop stop. When the season starts, we can discuss
Liverpool No Eagles, uh four and two off tomorrow, which

(01:36:06):
is a good thing.

Speaker 3 (01:36:07):
At Minnesota, Carson.

Speaker 2 (01:36:09):
Wentz will he still be playing John as far as
we know, as far as we know yet, Okay, Michael,
let's look ahead to that game. Eagles at the moment
at bet Park's minus two and a half where they
won the Super Bowl all those years ago. Have they
been back to Minnesota since then? They beat Minnesota here
a couple of times, as I.

Speaker 3 (01:36:28):
Recall, but they also lost to Joe Ebb. That was
before that. That was a long time and that was here.
That wasn't there. Mike, your thoughts as we get if
next week and.

Speaker 6 (01:36:42):
If Washington wins on you they tied for first the
four too, Okay, just just Dallas is what?

Speaker 3 (01:36:48):
What are the two? Two and one too?

Speaker 6 (01:36:50):
I mean, I think what's happened with the Eagles, and
it's it's a couple of things. I think, first of all,
the other the rest of the league watched them, They
watched Filmy, they saw what happened. I think they've try
to do things with Barkley and it's working so far.

Speaker 3 (01:37:04):
Maybe it doesn't.

Speaker 6 (01:37:05):
And I think the Eagles have been reluctant to try
to change what they do. More so the teams can't
do that. Look, I think the Vikings are a good team.
They need a quarterback. That's the one issue where you say,
I mean if the Eagles go out there and lose
and then you're four and three, and I know you
get the Giants after that after a bye and you know,

(01:37:27):
but you know who would have predicted this team would
have been foreign fit And the schedule at the start
was not easy.

Speaker 3 (01:37:32):
I mean, we all knew that. But they got to
get their act together.

Speaker 6 (01:37:35):
I mean, I don't know if it's gonna happen during
the bye, but I think I got many buy like
you said, right now. And I think one of the
problems I don't want to put all with the offensive coordinators.
I don't mean to do that, but I think the coach,
if he's the CEO and we're gonna give him credit
for they gotta sit down and say.

Speaker 5 (01:37:50):
Hey, what are we doing here?

Speaker 6 (01:37:52):
Like you know, we gave we gave the ball to
Barkley six times in a game. We were up fourteen
in the fourth quarter. And I think the other teams
in this league, I think the Denver coach kind of
a little bit looked.

Speaker 3 (01:38:01):
In and said, eh, you guys, maybe not.

Speaker 4 (01:38:04):
Yeah, And I'm not usually big on what is the
message like going into a year like you're either good
to you or not, and like whatever a coach says
is going to do much. But I do think it's
kind of weird that they didn't didn't go into the
offseason in the year like we just won a super Bowl.
Let's act like it. Let's let's have that bravado of
a super Bowl team. Instead, they're like, well, we're not
defending anything this year.

Speaker 3 (01:38:24):
This is a clean slate. Was like, why is this
a clean slate? You just figured it out. Act like
you figured it out.

Speaker 4 (01:38:29):
And so immediately when things started going wrong, all they're
thinking it was like, well, oh my gosh, we're not
good again.

Speaker 3 (01:38:33):
We gottaigure this. You're going to get everybody's best shot.

Speaker 6 (01:38:36):
It's like the Chiefs. The Chiefs have been doing this
now for like five years.

Speaker 4 (01:38:39):
It's just crazy that they don't act like a team
that just won a Super Bowl. Why don't they have
that kind of that swagger to them?

Speaker 8 (01:38:45):
And it also sounds like the outside noise is getting
to them too, because you talk about the AJ Brown,
he's not happy.

Speaker 3 (01:38:51):
You need to get them the ball. So what do
they do?

Speaker 4 (01:38:52):
They force them the balls inside noise, yeah, yeah, the
inside noise, outside noise, yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:38:58):
I agree. The inside noise is a horse right now.

Speaker 4 (01:39:01):
And then they're hearing it from all angles though, and
I think it's getting to their game planning. And then
an offense who can't figure out anything right now, they
have they have basically told you out loud, we have
no answers, we have no idea what's going on. They
have had meetings, all this stuff, and they can't figure
it out. That's not the kind of offense I want
to play Brian Fuller is with, because Brian Flores is
going to absolutely demolish you.

Speaker 3 (01:39:23):
So I don't know at that game, Oonnell is going
to destroy them.

Speaker 4 (01:39:27):
And I think they are staring down the barrel of
And this sounds very weird to say for a great
team and a Minnesota team that can't figure out the
quarterback just because like J. J. McCarthy hadn't played well
and and he's hurt now, and who knows, Carson Wentz
is still like whatever, But they're still dangerously close to
losing three in a row against Minnesota.

Speaker 8 (01:39:45):
I don't I don't think that is I don't think
they should.

Speaker 3 (01:39:51):
Yeah, I don't think.

Speaker 8 (01:39:51):
I don't think it's I don't even think they're gonna
be I don't think they should be favored in that game,
because I know there's a quarterback issue, but as long
as you have Justin Jefferson and Jordan with that cornerback,
I mean, they made Wandel Robinson look like Tyreek Hill.
And this is the fourth game in or I could
say it ever since the Rams game, and they were
fortunately able to win that one. But the numbers suggests
they should not be winning these games. They shouldn't be winning.

(01:40:13):
They shouldn't won against the Rams.

Speaker 4 (01:40:14):
They probably Tampa Bay, I guess, but even then it
was a little bit weird. Denver and New York. They
shouldn't have any they did. They fly been out gained
in every game. Yeah, these games.

Speaker 2 (01:40:25):
Right, which is like an amazing stat that they're four
and two and could be even better if they hadn't
blown the Denver game.

Speaker 3 (01:40:31):
They were clearly outplayed.

Speaker 2 (01:40:33):
Thursday night, Mike, I think the fourth game in the
list was the Tampa Bay game, not the Rams game,
if I remember, Oh yes.

Speaker 3 (01:40:40):
Which is the story.

Speaker 2 (01:40:42):
The other thing that's weird about them is they've had
really good halves, but can't either.

Speaker 3 (01:40:47):
They can't put it.

Speaker 5 (01:40:48):
Like the first half against the Rams.

Speaker 2 (01:40:50):
Was horrible, The second half against Denver was beyond believe bad.

Speaker 5 (01:40:55):
The second half Thursday night was horrible.

Speaker 3 (01:40:57):
Tampa was like that. They can't put quarters had a
big lead. It's just it's bizarre.

Speaker 2 (01:41:02):
And they normally did that last year when they had
a lead, they would just give it to Barkley. So
that the big picture question then, is is this twenty
twenty three when they were ten and one and collapsed
but never really looked good. At ten and one they
were life of death that went all out of those games,
or is this last year well and they really were
not great in the first half of the season and

(01:41:25):
then caught fire at the end. I don't know that
we know the answer to that question. Anybody got any
thoughts on you know what this is gonna look like?

Speaker 6 (01:41:34):
What? It's really distressing to me now, I mean, not
really did, but they were two years ago to couldn't
tackle anybody. Then last year their defense the last couple
of games. Now, I know they got guys out. I
know they got guys out. I understand that, but me
and they're tight noticeable It's very noticeable, and that was
their home lorn sir. Yeah, I mean Cooper's zee might

(01:41:54):
have been one of the best tacklers in the league,
because when he hits you, you don't get away.

Speaker 3 (01:41:59):
Bawn, the last couple of weeks, he's missed a couple.

Speaker 5 (01:42:02):
They look discouraged.

Speaker 2 (01:42:04):
The other night, I think they got beat up for
the first time in a long time. They were in
against the team that has been nonsense for as long
as anybody can remember.

Speaker 5 (01:42:14):
That all of a sudden said we canna actually win
this game. Let's beat these guys up.

Speaker 2 (01:42:18):
Let's have camps fun, Let's have fun running over people,
enjoy in life, doing backflips.

Speaker 3 (01:42:24):
At the head.

Speaker 8 (01:42:24):
The fact that that was complete and utter domination is
very worried.

Speaker 6 (01:42:29):
Their offensive line and again whether they played life just
doesn't look the same yet. And Barkley you can tell
because he's not getting to through that first and I
don't think maybe it's the play calls.

Speaker 3 (01:42:43):
Maybe the play call stink.

Speaker 8 (01:42:45):
I thought Barkley is a very patient runner and he's
not even getting a chance.

Speaker 3 (01:42:49):
They're hitting him in the back field exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:42:51):
Well, he got off to a good start, but then
a bad finish. It was weird right there. Down what ten?
They run two plays up the middle. It was like,
what are we doing?

Speaker 8 (01:43:01):
So he has had one hundred yard game this year? Now,
Oh is that when they were deep in their own territories. Yeah,
And then next thing, you know, it's third and stef.

Speaker 3 (01:43:07):
Third and twelve.

Speaker 2 (01:43:08):
And then then it hurts misses a guy wh I
saw baldy stuff and it hurts mister guy rush Dotson.

Speaker 3 (01:43:14):
They like lead the league in three and outs.

Speaker 6 (01:43:16):
They have like forty seven percent of their possession and
on third down and more than like five or get it.

Speaker 2 (01:43:22):
They stink and and that's where they were. That's where
teams yet great at it and look what it's just
it's just kind of a mess right now. But I
cautioned every one. Yeah, I agree. It's seventeen games, yes,
plus the playoffs. And again, this particular group, because of
the fact that no one plays in the exhibition games,

(01:43:44):
they're not remotely closed to being what they have the
possibility of being, because we all remember what it looked
like at the end of last year. And the other thing,
the bigger issue to me is they have zero edge rushers.

Speaker 6 (01:43:58):
What do you remember about the Super Bowl well, homes
notes let sweat go, and they let you know, and
they had to. They weren't gonna pay them.

Speaker 2 (01:44:04):
They just don't look like they can get to the
quarterback without blitzing. And and then with that with the
back of the backup cornerbacks. When you're blitzing, there's something
when your.

Speaker 6 (01:44:22):
You're a team like the Eagles, first down is so key.
If you get five yards on first down, which they did.
Now you're second and five, second and four and you've
got Barkley, you've got the quarterback, you've got all this.

Speaker 3 (01:44:34):
Going for it. When you're second and nine.

Speaker 6 (01:44:38):
Second, that's a whole.

Speaker 3 (01:44:40):
Different set of circumstances.

Speaker 6 (01:44:42):
And like you said, the Minnesota defensive coordinator John is
really good and the coaches, I mean, that's the best
thing Minnesota has gone for.

Speaker 3 (01:44:49):
The personnel is very good.

Speaker 2 (01:44:50):
To the Carson Wentz revenge my god, the quarterback that
took his spot.

Speaker 3 (01:44:55):
Oh my god.

Speaker 8 (01:44:56):
After the Giants game and uh, after the twenty six,
it's gonna get brutal because they're at Green Bay, they
played Detroit, then they're at Dallas Bears at the Chargers.
You're gonna get You're gonna figure out real quick. If
this team is twenty twenty three or twenty t're.

Speaker 6 (01:45:14):
Gonna lose all those games, but they're not gonna win
all those games. Yeah, So you know that's the thing.

Speaker 3 (01:45:19):
I'm more so looking for.

Speaker 8 (01:45:20):
How how they compete in these games, those last how
they lose those last two of those last three games
against Commanders could be.

Speaker 3 (01:45:27):
Like huge games.

Speaker 6 (01:45:28):
Yeah, And I didn't really think they would be when
before the season started. I figured the Eagles probably would
have a game leader or whatever and take a step back. Yeah,
And I mean I wouldn't count out Dallas. I know
their defense, John, you are absolutely but I think their
schedules a little easier.

Speaker 3 (01:45:44):
But we'll see.

Speaker 8 (01:45:45):
They only break the Eagles have in the back half
of the seasons at home against Vegas, Vegas every other games,
It's gonna be really tough.

Speaker 3 (01:45:52):
Uh fast two hours as always.

Speaker 5 (01:45:55):
Well this week be better. Champion Phillies are no longer playing.

Speaker 3 (01:46:00):
Phillies can't lose.
