Yes, everyone calls me Dr Z,it's so much easier.

Okay, dr Z, tell me what brings you here to ASCD
ISTE.

Absolutely.
I had the pleasure of being oneof the presenters here at this
amazing conference.
Wow.
So I, just in the last couplehours, presented to a whole room
full of teachers andadministrators.
I was speaking around the topicof classroom management and how
to help teachers to teach moreand stress less.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Oh, that's fantastic.
And tell me a bit about abouthow you got into doing that kind
of public speaking work atconferences and how that works.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Absolutely so.
I am an educator.
Been an educator all my life,ever since I was about like
eight years old Now.
Of course, those students wereinvisible, but I was teaching
nevertheless, and so I went onfrom teaching and I was a
principal for 18 years WowBefore starting my company,
empowered Educational Consulting, and so now I actually go back

(01:29):
and give back in a way that Iwanted when I was an
administrator, and I do it in acouple of ways providing
professional development toteachers, et cetera.
I was a principal at a school,at a couple of schools, where I
got the pleasure of workingthrough a lot of different
behaviors, so I became somewhatof an expert, and so I'm sharing

(01:50):
a lot of those strategies withpeople all across the country,
because we really need it thesedays.
But I'm also working withschool principals, helping them
to be able to strengthen theirskills and get the support that
they need, because their work ishard as well.

community as we close thesessions?

Absolutely.
I just believe in investing inthe wellness of our teachers and
administrators.
That's how we will continue tomake our education great for
students by investing in notjust our teachers but also our
leaders that actually overseethose schools.
