Freedom. It's why we all start businesses, but ironically, it's the first thing most entrepreneurs sacrifice. After years of being chained to my phone and missing precious moments with my family, I discovered that systems were the key to breaking free while still growing a thriving business.

Remember when you dreamed of entrepreneurship as the ultimate path to freedom? Then reality hit—you became more trapped than ever, drowning in tasks, constantly putting out fires, and watching life happen from behind your laptop. That's not ownership; that's servitude. As Michael Gerber points out in The E-Myth, there's a profound difference between being a technician inside your business and creating a business that can function without your constant presence.

The transformation in my own life has been nothing short of revolutionary. Our systems—automations, SOPs, onboarding flows, and nurture sequences—completely changed how our family experiences life. Last summer, while Gallery Flow handled follow-ups and booked calls automatically, I was actually present with my children—swimming, biking, making memories. We even tested our systems during a month in Europe, completely disconnecting from work. The result? We returned to find our business had grown without us.

Systems don't just make your business more efficient; they give you permission to step away. They allow you to trust that everything will continue running smoothly in your absence. And perhaps most importantly, they enable you to serve your clients better with faster responses and more consistent delivery.

Ask yourself: What are you missing right now because you lack proper systems? Soccer games? Family dinners? Sleep? Over the next five years, the systems you build today will buy back time you can never recover—time with your kids before they grow up, with your parents while they're still healthy, with yourself to rest and dream big. Without freedom, you've just built yourself a prettier cage. Start by identifying what would break if you stepped away for a week—that's where you need your first system.

Want to build a business that supports your life instead of stealing it? That's exactly what we help you do. Because at the end of the day, what good is success if you never have the freedom to enjoy it?

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome back to Staffed.
And today we're going to talkabout how systems gave us back
our summers, our vacations andour lives.
And today I want to talk to youabout something that's way
bigger than business, biggerthan leads, bigger than funnels
and even bigger than profit.
I want to talk to you aboutfreedom, the real reason why

(00:21):
everybody gets in a business.
Them, the real reason whyeverybody gets in a business.
It's the reason most of usstarted our businesses in the
first place, but it's also thefirst thing that we allow to
slip away because we're notbeing careful enough.
I'm going to be honest when Ifirst started, I thought owning
a business meant I'd get to dowhatever I wanted whenever I
wanted.
But I learned real, real fastthat if you build your business

(00:42):
the wrong way, you are actuallyworse off than a job.
You end up chained to yourphone, drowning in tasks and
never truly free.
That's why books like E-MythRevisited are so important.
The E-Myth reminds us that wecan't just be technicians inside
our businesses doing the workday after day, stuck in the
weeds.
We have to build systems so thebusiness can work without us,

(01:04):
and that's the differencebetween owning a business and
being the business.
I've seen it in my own life.
When we put systems in placeautomations, standard operating
procedures, onboarding flows, nurture, sequences it completely
changed how our family couldshow up for life.
I remember one summer the kidswere home and I wanted to
actually be present.
I didn't want to keep checkingmy emails, fighting fires or

(01:27):
worrying that I was missingleads Because of our systems.
I didn't have to Gallery Flowhandled the follow-ups, tagged
leads, moved them through thepipeline and even booked calls
for me.
That meant I could take thekids to the pool, watch movies
with them, go on bike rides andstill see new deals pop into my
calendar.
Even when we took our vacation,we were able to do so without

(01:50):
guilt.
We went on little weekend roadtrips without wondering if the
whole business would fall apartwhile we were gone.
And that is what true freedomfeels like.
It's peace, it's space, it'spresence with your people.
And in fact, we tested this fora month in Europe while my
husband and I said bye-byebusiness.
We came back and they wereactually growing.

(02:12):
If you don't build systems, yourbusiness is going to own you.
It'll own your calendar, it'llown your time, it'll own your
mind.
But if you build your businessaround freedom.
Everything changes and that'sreally why we designed Gallery
Flow the way that we did.
We wanted to make freedom thepriority, not just money,
because what good is money ifyou never have the freedom to

(02:33):
enjoy it?
Here's the big question what areyou missing right now because
you don't have a system?
Are you missing your kids'soccer games?
Are you missing dinners withyour spouse because you're tied
up sending invoices?
Are you missing sleep becauseyou're stressed about following
up with leads?
Systems are going to be able togive you that time back.
They give you permission tostep away without everything

(02:54):
collapsing.
They give you a chance to trustyour business, to run without
you for a bit, and you can do it.
I promise let's think aboutthis over the next five years.
If you build systems today, you'll be buying back time that
you can't ever get back laterTime with your kids before they
grow up, time with your parentswhile they're still healthy,

(03:15):
time with yourself to rest, healand think big.
And that's the real return oninvestment here.
And let's not forget about yourclients.
When you build systems, youserve them better, which also
means that you can respondfaster, you deliver smoother and
you never leave them wonderingif you forgot them, and that's
freedom for them too, andactually that's going to help

(03:36):
you grow even faster.
So the money will come.
They're going to feel supportedand secure because you're not
running around trying toremember what to do next.
The e-myth taught me a lessonI'll never forget Systems build
freedom, and freedom is the onlyreason this whole dream of
entrepreneurship matters.
Without freedom, you've reallyjust built yourself a prettier

(03:57):
cage.
So here's the challenge todayAsk yourself, if I stepped away
from my business for a week, what would break?
And that is where you need tobuild a system first, start
there, build it, automate it,buy back your freedom and if you
want help, if you want to builda business that supports your
life instead of stealing it,that's exactly what we do inside

(04:19):
Dollarly Flow.
We build automations, templatesand workflows so that you can
go live life because you deservethat.
This is Stacked where weautomate, elevate and repeat.
