Feeling frustrated with social media? You're not alone. Many of us pour our hearts into content only to watch it disappear into the void with minimal engagement. But what if we're thinking about social media all wrong?

This eye-opening episode strips away the mystery surrounding social algorithms and reveals what they actually want from creators. Contrary to popular belief, platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube aren't looking for polished perfection—they're searching for authentic content that keeps viewers engaged. The algorithm rewards watch time, comments, saves, and shares more than simple views, which means your strategy needs to prioritize valuable, conversation-starting content over chasing vanity metrics.

We debunk persistent social media myths about posting times, hashtag strategies, and video length that might be holding you back. The truth? Consistency trumps perfection every single time. Your content might not go viral immediately, but posting regularly signals to algorithms that your account deserves visibility. Even more surprising, today's social platforms function increasingly as search engines, meaning your content could find its audience months or even years after posting when someone searches for related topics.

The most powerful insight? Social media success isn't a sprint—it's a marathon of trust-building. People might be silently watching and remembering your content long before they engage. To avoid burnout while maintaining the necessary consistency, we share practical strategies for content batching and scheduling that will transform your approach and free up your creative energy. Ready to stop the social media struggle and start planting seeds that will grow into meaningful audience connections? This episode is your roadmap to sustainable social media success.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome back to Stacked and let's just get into
it.
Dun dun dun.
Social media the land of likes, shares, views and unfortunately
or fortunately algorithms.
It can feel totallyoverwhelming, confusing and
sometimes absolutely pointless, especially when you pour your
heart into a post and it getstwo likes.

(00:23):
But I want to help you reframehow you see social media and
give you a plan that's actuallygoing to work long term.
First, let's talk about thealgorithms.
Every single platform Instagram, facebook, tiktok, linkedin,
youtube and actually even Googleif you didn't know it they have
one goal to keep people on theplatform longer.

(00:45):
That means these algorithmswant to see content that sparks
conversations, keeps attentionand makes people come back for
more.
It's not just about views.
It's also about watch, timesaves, comments, clicks and
replays.
If your content makes peoplepause or engage, the algorithm
sees you as more valuable.

(01:07):
So what should you post?
You need to put out contentthat is real, relatable and
useful and that might be sharinga behind the scenes or a
customer story or a quick how-toor even your honest opinion on
a topic.
These platforms want you tosound human, not robotic.
They want actually they do wantsome of your mistakes.

(01:28):
They don't want it overlypolished, which is why, even in
this podcast, you'll noticethere's times that I stumble
over my words.
We don't pull it out becausethat's what the human experience
is.
It's little mistakes here andthere.
So how often should you poststakes here and there?
So how often should you post?
Probably a lot more than youthink.
Daily, if you can, or at thevery least three to five times a

(01:56):
week.
The more you post, the morechances that you have to hit the
right moment.
And here is a big truth Even ifnobody engages today, you got
to keep going.
Social media works on patternsand consistency tells the
algorithm.
This account is active.
Keep showing it to more people.
There's also trends that youmight be way ahead of, but if
you go ahead and post the videonow, it might pop off in six

(02:17):
months.
Another thing that peopleforget is that social search is
growing.
People forget is that socialsearch is growing super, super
fast.
So think of Instagram TikTokeven YouTube as search engines,
not just feed scrollers.
In fact, anytime that I need toresearch something, I TikTok it
.
I'm not a YouTuber, I TikTok it.

(02:38):
Someone might type in the bestestate sales software or how to
grow my vendor booth monthsafter you post your video and
that's why your content can popoff weeks, months or even years
later.
If you're ahead of the curve ona trend, don't panic.
If no one sees it right now, you're planting a seed that
might be able to sprout later.

(02:58):
There are a lot of myths outthere about social media.
Things like you have to post atexactly 7am, or maybe you've
heard that hashtags are dead, orthe video should only be six
seconds, or I've even heardcarousels don't work anymore.
Honestly, most of that is justnoise.
The truth is, if your contentis valuable and consistent, it's

(03:20):
going to work.
There's not a magic timeline.
There's no perfect hashtag.
It's going to work.
There's not a magic timeline.
There's no perfect hashtag.
There's just showing up,sharing good stuff and repeating
it until you build momentum.
And here's how to adjust.
If you want to increaseengagement, talk directly to
your ideal person, not the wholeworld.
Ask a question that sparksanswers, not just a yes or a no.

(03:40):
Share personal stories thatbuild trust and consider mixing
up your formats frequently.
So jump between reels, carousels, photos, lives,
podcasts.
The algorithms really lovevariety.
The biggest mistake people makeis giving up too soon.

(04:00):
Social media is a long game, not a lottery ticket.
If you post three times andstop because nobody engaged,
you're missing the point.
You are building brand trust, and trust takes time.
People might be watching, reading or remembering, even if
they don't like or comment rightnow.
One way to make this easier onyourself is to batch your
content Instead of trying topost every single day from

(04:21):
scratch.
Sit down once a week or once amonth and write out your posts,
film your videos and load themdirectly into a scheduling tool
like Gallery Flow.
That's going to save you fromburning out and it's going to
help you stay consistent, whichis the only true hack, if you
will, in social media.

(04:41):
So let me say that againConsistency beats perfection.
Every single time, insideeryFlow, we help our clients plan
out content calendars, buildbatching templates and schedule
everything in advance.
That way, you never have topanic or feel overwhelmed.
You know your posts are goingout, even if you're busy serving
clients, on vacation or takinga mental health day.
So let me leave you with this.
Social media is not about goingviral today.

(05:03):
It's about showing up so oftenin such a real and valuable way
that people trust you.
Tomorrow, next week, next monthand even next year.
Keep posting, keep showing up,batch it, schedule it and
remember that good content willalways find a home, sometimes
right away and sometimes in thefuture.

(05:24):
You just have to be there toplant the seeds.
This is Stacked, where weautomate, elevate and repeat.
