Brad Powell (00:06):
Welcome back to the Standout Business Show.
I'm your host, brad Powell, andright now I'd like you to
imagine having a personal coachin your pocket, guiding you step
by step through the process ofcreating impactful short form
videos, just like you would ifyou were in a one-on-one session
with me.
Well, that's exactly what I'vejust built with my own custom

(00:30):
GPT that I'm calling Mic DropCoach, and that's because it's
trained specifically to coachyou through my Mic Drop Moments
method.
And in today's episode, I'mpulling back the curtain and
showing you how this AI-driventool works in real time.
I'm going to walk you through alive example of how my custom

(00:51):
GPT helps you create engaging,high-performing video content
super easily.
No more guessing what to say orhow to structure your message,
or even when to hit record.
This custom GPT does it all foryou, and I think it's going to
make video creation simpler andfaster and more effective than

(01:12):
ever before.
So stay tuned to see how AI istransforming the way you can
show up online and createcontent that truly stands out,
and with that, let's start theshow.
All right, so I have been doingthis Mic Drop Moments video

(01:37):
creation method for the last fewyears.
I started it right during thetime of the pandemic, and my
goal was to help people createcontent with very little pain,
with very little time, with verylittle anything Like people
spend an hour with me just onetime a month or one time every

(01:59):
other month and they get alltheir content done.
And part of the way this works, and part of my whole approach,
is that all of the people that Iwork with are experts in their
field and they have a lot ofknowledge and experience and
stories and insights to share.
That's all stored up here intheir brain and the trouble is

(02:23):
getting it out there, especiallygetting out there on video.
There's a lot of roadblocks andthere's a lot of logjams in
people who have never done videobefore, in helping them do that
process, helping them get clearand concise with their
messaging, and I've neverthought that sitting down and

(02:45):
facing a blank screen and tryingto write a script is the best
way to do this.
My approach is very muchinteractive and it's call and
response, where I prompt myclients and they just respond to
me.
They respond to me in the waythat they would if we were just
having a conversation and fromthat kind of conversation I can

(03:09):
be listening carefully and bepulling out their insights and
their stories and their wisdom, and that I can turn into really
great content.
Well, that's really cool, butthere's only one of me.
Cool, but there's only one ofme.
So in the last little while, Ihave decided to try to train a

(03:31):
custom GPT, a language modelthat would take my knowledge and
my wisdom and my experience andbe able to coach people through
this same process.
So I think I've done it and Ijust want to.
I've been playing around withthis tool and I've been kind of
amazed at how well it works.

(03:52):
So I'm excited to share it alittle bit and I'm really
curious to hear feedback fromyou.
So if you are listening to thisand would care to give me
feedback, or if you would likeearly access to this tool, I'm
going to start doing a littlebeta testing and I want to.
You know the chosen few who arebrave enough to try this out.

(04:14):
You can reach out to me and Iwill hook you up and let you
play with it.
I want to see how well it'sworking with anyone and refine
it and make it better and thenstart making this available to
anyone who is facing thischallenge of wanting to make
good video content but kind ofstruggling with that process,

(04:35):
and this, I believe, is going tomake the whole thing a whole
lot easier, and I want to showyou exactly how this can work.
Let's take a look here.
So when you come to the GBT,the first thing that you'll see
is that there'll be a prompt atthe start that you just push the

(04:56):
button and it says help mestart my mic drop moment video.
And so you push that button andthe first response I just tried
this this morning the firstresponse I got was awesome I
love that.
You're ready to kick off yourmic drop moment video.
Let's build a strong starttogether.
And then it says first let'spick a starting point based on

(05:19):
the worksheet styles you'veuploaded.
We have three main options toset the tone of your video, and
this is all based on theknowledge base that I created
for this.
So the three choices areauthority builder, where I can
show my expertise and insights,or number two is personal brand
builder, where I can sharepersonal stories or struggles or

(05:42):
win celebration.
And number three is aninformational expertise, which
is quick tips or takeaways orhow-to kind of guidance.
So these are the threecategories and basically it says
to start, you can tell me whichone you're feeling pulled
towards today, whether it'sauthority, personal or expert

(06:02):
tips.
And it says I'll guide youthrough crafting a bold,
story-driven opening once youchoose which one feels right.
Doesn't that sound like ahelpful coach?
So in this case I said okay, let's do an authority builder.
That's the first choice.
So it says perfect, authoritybuilder, let's make you look

(06:23):
like the go-to expert right fromthe first sentence.
And then here are a fewAuthority Builder prompts that
we can start with.
And of course, this is from theworksheet that I shared with it
in the knowledge base.
So there's actually five choiceshere.
So it's saying common questionsthat my audience is always

(06:43):
asking me, or questions thatthey should be asking you but
are not and they don't realizeyet.
Number three objections peoplehave that keeping them stuck.
Four is myths or misconceptionsthat I want to bust wide open.
And the fifth one is a bigmistake you see people making

(07:05):
over and over.
And then it says pick oneprompt which one feels juicy to
you right now.
And then it says, you know, Idon't have to choose.
It says, if you want, I cantoss a few quick examples to
spark ideas, but I chose one.
I said, okay, let's go with bigmistake.
That was the last one.
And so, yes, big mistake isalways a powerful way to grab

(07:26):
attention, telling people whatthey're getting wrong and
showing them how to fix it.
So let's shape this together.
And there's a couple of quickquestions.
And again it's prompting me.
This is the same kind of thingthat I would do when I'm
coaching a client what's the bigmistake your audience or
industry keeps making, or whydoes it matter?
What's the cost or consequenceif they don't fix it?

(07:49):
And then it gives me thisformula for stating the mistake.
And so here's the quote thenumber one mistake I see.
And then, in parentheses, youraudience, you have to fill that
in.
The number one mistake I seeyour audience making is.
And then fill in the mistakeand then it's costing them and

(08:11):
then painful consequence let'sfix it.
So here's giving me a format ofhow I can state the big mistake
.
So it says tell me what the bigmistake is you're fired up to
talk about.
So this is what I wrote back.
I said the number one mistake Isee expert business leaders
make that's my audience isthey're overthinking when it

(08:32):
comes to content marketing andit's keeping their expertise
hidden, because when they'respending too much time second
guessing what to say, they'renot showing up consistently.
I just took the format and Istretched it out.
I named my audience and I namedthe mistake and I also said

(08:53):
something about what it'scosting them.
So now it comes back to me andsays that's a great start Clear,
bold and directly calling outthe real issue.
Let's polish it just a tiny bitfor a camera delivery to make
it even more punchy andmemorable.
So it gives me a refinedversion.
And that goes the number onemistake I see expert business

(09:15):
leaders make overthinking theircontent marketing.
And it's costing themvisibility, because when you're
stuck second guessing every word, you're not showing up
consistently.
And if you're not showing up,your expertise stays hidden.
And now it's giving me two pathsof what to say next.
I can either do a story exampleor I can do a shift to solution

(09:40):
.
So in the story example, Iwould tell a quick little story
from my experience, or in theshift, I would share a mindset
shift that you need to fix yourmistake.
And then it's saying which pathdo you want to do, story or
solution?
And I said story.
So it goes.

(10:00):
Love it.
After your strong openingthat's calling out the mistake.
I could flow right intosomething like and it gives me
an example.
So I was working with thisclient recently and they had so
much expertise to share, butevery time they sat down to
create content, they overthoughtevery single post.
They'd spend hours tweaking oneparagraph.

(10:21):
Meanwhile people who neededtheir help most they never even
saw them.
So now it's giving me somesuggestions Coaching suggests
make it relatable, highlight howcommon this struggle is, keep
it short a 30 to 45 second storyworks best and then emphasize

(10:41):
the turnaround.
So these are really greatcoaching suggestions, as I'm
thinking of, what is it that Iwant to say in my story?
So I wrote back and told thisstory.
I was working with a brilliantexecutive business coach
recently and she had so muchexpertise to share, but every

(11:03):
time she made video with me, sheoverthought the process,
obsessing over small detailslike the font colors in her
captions and sharing the videoprivately with friends before
posting it online.
Weeks would go by withoutpublishing her content and
meanwhile the people who neededher help the most they never

(11:24):
even saw them.
So that was my story, and canyou see this process here of.
I've been going through thisthing and I didn't have this
story in mind to tell, butthrough this coaching of the AI
helping me with my prompts, I'venow told a little story that's
very real and quite relatable.

(11:45):
So my coach is now telling meperfect, now we can stitch this
into a powerful, flowing storyfor your mic drop moment.
And then it gives me a wholenew opening here.
Here's how your full openingcould sound, naturally paced for
video.
Here's the opening line.
The number one mistake I seeexpert leaders make overthinking

(12:08):
their content marketing, andit's costing them visibility,
because when you stuck secondguessing every word, you're not
showing up consistently, and ifyou're not showing up, your
expertise stays hidden.
Here comes the story.
I was working with a brilliantexecutive business coach
recently and she had so muchexpertise to share, but every

(12:28):
time she made a video with me,she would overthink the process,
obsessing over tiny detailslike the font color in her
captions and privately sharingthe video with friends before
daring to post it online.
Weeks would go by withoutpublishing anything.
Meanwhile, the people whoneeded her help most they never
even saw her.

(12:48):
So you can see that there'sthese subtle shifts and
refinements that my GPT coach ishelping me do.
And then it gives me thisoptional add-on and that's the
real cost of overthinkingInvisibility.

(13:09):
Done is always better thanperfect when it comes to showing
up as a leader.
And then it gives me somepacing tips, saying slow down
just a beat when you say theynever even saw her.
So not only is it helping mearound what I should say, but
it's actually helping me inaround how to say it.
And then it asks the questionwould you like me to help you

(13:33):
with a mic drop style closingline to wrap this up?
Would you like me to help youwith a mic drop style closing
line to wrap this up?
And I said, yes, let's do aclosing line and maybe a call to
action to get help creatingtheir own mic drop moments.
So here are three potentialclosing lines.

(13:54):
One is your message doesn'tmake an impact if it stays
locked in your head.
Show up, speak up.
Your people are waiting.
Option number two experts don'thide, they lead.
Stop overthinking and startowning your brilliance.
And number three the only thingstanding between you and the
impact you're meant to make isyou.
Let's fix that.

(14:15):
So I like that one because itsegues right into my invitation
and the call to action would beif you're ready to finally show
up and create your own mic dropmoments without second guessing,
let's talk.
Drop a fire emoji in thecomments or DM me mic drop and
I'll send you the details.

(14:35):
And then it gives me thisstructure of like here's how
your flow could go A strongopening, a real story, the big
truth, which is the closing line, and then a clear invitation.
So now I've got a completestructure and I've got all these
ideas of what to do.
Then it says would you like meto also show you how this could
sound if you wanted a slightlymore storytelling style?

(14:58):
So I said yes, that sounds cool.
So in the storytelling style, this is how it wraps up.
I see brilliant leaders everyday, people with the exact
expertise someone else ispraying for, holding back
because they're stuck chasingperfection.
And if that's you hear me outShowing up imperfectly is still

(15:23):
showing up.
And your next client?
They're not looking forperfection, they're looking for
you.
So if you're ready to stopsecond guessing and start
creating your own mic dropmoments, the kind that actually
reach the people who need you, let's talk and then drop a fire
emoji in the comments or DM memic drop and I'll show you how

(15:44):
we can make it happen.
So that's stronger right littlekernel of an idea and I've been
working with my chat GPT coachand it's really made something
that I think is powerful andresonant with exactly the kind
of people that I am wanting totalk to.

(16:06):
And if you want to go further, you know down here it's going on
and suggested video title ideasand hook caption ideas in terms
of writing a description forthis video that makes people
want to watch it.
So this mic drop coach willtake you start to finish through

(16:26):
anything that you might want tothink about doing in terms of
your content and you just gothrough the same process.
You know, when you get back tothe beginning, you pick do you
want to do an authority builder?
Do you want to build yourpersonal brand or do you want to
showcase your expertise?
And you pick one of those andit'll just keep prompting you

(16:48):
all the way through and throughthis process process, you will
come up with and refine yourideas so that you can talk
through any short form piece ofcontent that you would like to
create.
You can see that this is afairly simple and painless
process and the other thingthat's cool about this is that

(17:09):
you can set this up where, let'ssay, you mount your phone on a
tripod and you turn on yourcomputer and you're interacting
with the chat GPT and you turnon the microphone to the GPT so
that when it prompts you andsays, okay, tell me your story.
Well, you turn the microphoneon and start speaking and you

(17:31):
hit record on your phone and youstart speaking and now you're
recording to your phone and chatGPT will be listening and it
will follow up and give you morefeedback and refine what you're
saying even more so that youcan repeat that.
You can then hit record on yourphone, turn the microphone and
speak again and this coach willwalk you through the whole thing

(17:53):
so that when you're done, instead of having this all just
written down, you'll actuallyhave your recording on your
phone and your video will becomplete.
I just think this is amazing, like.
This absolutely is the futureof where marketing is going, and

today and if, of course, you'regoing, actually I just want to
work with you.

you do it even better.
