You keep saying you'll startshowing up when you feel ready.

But what if readiness isn't theprerequisite, it's the result?
Most expert business owners,probably like you, aren't
showing up on video, and it'snot because they don't have
something valuable to say.
It's because they're tellingthemselves things like I don't

think I'm good on camera and Idon't like how I look or sound
on camera and thinking I'llprobably be boring.
So you're waiting for somemythical version of yourself to
arrive that's like more polished, it's more charismatic, it's
this more camera-ready versionthat you have in your mind.
But here's the thing thatversion isn't going to come and

guess what?
You don't really need it to.
When people feel like they'renot ready, they're usually going
to try stuff like they'll buyexpensive camera equipment or
they'll follow scriptingformulas and templates that
they're getting online, orthey'll go watch a bunch of
YouTube videos about how to lookgood on camera, or they're

going to avoid video entirely,which is basically what most
people do, and then they hidebehind their Canva posts and
their clever captioning andstuff like that.
But none of that buildsconfidence.
In fact, it usually makesthings worse, because it's going
to pull you further away fromyour authentic voice.
The whole idea of gettingcamera ready is broken.

You don't need to perform.
You need to stop believing thatyou're not already ready.
Now, most of the marketeers outthere are still pushing the idea
that confidence on video comesafter learning how to script,
learning how to hold yourposture in front of the camera,
how to let yourself property or,worse, to mimic someone else's

energy.
Like, be like Tony Robbins.
But this is what I callperformative marketing, and it
leads people to think that theyneed to become somebody else in
order to be visible.
Your point of view, the way youthink about stuff, is going to

cut right through all that.
Your goal isn't to become morepolished.
It's to become more present.
Your clients really don't want apolished pitch.
They want to see what it's liketo work with you.
They want to see what it's liketo work with you.
Remember this being real isgoing to be being rehearsed

every single time, and readinessdoesn't come before showing up.
It comes from showing up.
You become camera ready bydoing what you already do
helping people, answeringquestions, sharing stories and
being in your zone of genius.
The moment everything changesis when you realize that you

don't need to perform.
You just need to show up, andnot as some perfect, polished,
high-energy content creator, butas the real you, someone who
knows their stuff, someone whohelps people every single day
and someone who drops mic, dropinsights on every client call

without even trying, withouteven realizing it.
That version of you, that's theversion your audience wants to
hear from, because your presenceis more powerful than any
script that you could create.
And when you speak from thatplace, the place where you're in
your zone of genius, yourcontent stops sounding like

marketing and it starts soundinglike trust.
Let me give you an example.
I recently started working witha client who came to me saying
things like I'm not great oncamera, I tend to ramble.
I think I'll probably be boring.
I'm not sure that I'm even cutout for video.

We simply had a conversationand I asked the right questions,
he was able to drop thesegolden, powerful moments that I
could take and edit down intogolden powerful short form video
and afterwards, when he'swatching the clips, he said oh
my God, that sounds like me onlya little bit better.

(05:31):
And that's the point.
