(00:00):
Welcome back to Star Wars Escape Pod and Star Wars Celebration Japan Day 2.

(00:25):
For a celebration recap, digging down deep into all the details that you may have missed
on the live stream, or that is if you don't want to watch the live stream, then by all
means we got it covered for you.
Typically our light speed episodes run about 15 minutes or less, but for Star Wars Celebration
we do make an exception and tend to go a little bit longer, so stay tuned.

(00:51):
No idea how long this could be.
Alright so, this Day 2 started off, this was Saturday, kicked off with more fruit carvings
from Yoki on the main stage at Celebration, and from there we transitioned into the Andorra
Star Wars Story panel that ran between 10am and 11am live on the Celebration stage, and

(01:12):
was streamed to two other stages.
Creator and Executive Producer Tony Gilroy was there with the Executive Producer Diego
Luna and star of the show, and a few other members of the cast to discuss the final season
of Andorra, and there were some takeaways from the news.

(01:32):
Each three episodes will represent one year of time, and each week three episodes will
release on Disney Plus until the series is done.
We will start Mon Mothma's story on Chandrila, and a wedding will take place.
This season visits dark themes and Mon stepping out of the shadows to speak the truth.
Ben Mendelsohn returns as Director Krennic.

(01:53):
We find out where Dedra comes from this season, and things will get strange with Cyril, hinting
at some sort of strange relationship with him and Dedra that is.
Cyril gets a promotion, he's also on another planet flexing his new powers, and political
powers that is, and getting with Dedra maybe.

(02:14):
Spice things up.
Bix has left her home since season one, and she's trying to reconstruct herself after
what happened with her post-torture from the doctor guy.
You also get into her relationship with Andorra much more in this season compared to the last.
Alan Tudyk is back as K-2SO, and the birth of K-2SO will be seen this season.

(02:36):
No mention of the Marvel one-shot this panel.
Back to the celebration live stage, Anthony Daniels came out for a visit to soak up some
love and he promoted his book, IMC3PO, which has been released in Japan in Japanese, and
he had his usual annual quip lash versus Anthony Anthony, you know the host Anthony versus

(03:00):
Anthony Daniels.
It was like, you know, they do it every year.
All right, they made a joke out of a message that someone put on threads and they made
that reality by preserving Anthony Daniels in wrapping him in bubble wrap.
So that was kind of entertaining to watch.
They did a spotlight product for the highly detailed statue of Anakin Ben Kenobi and Luke

(03:21):
Skywalker from Fremando season two from a company called Blitzwave.
So if you're into dolls like, you know, hot toys collectibles, maybe look up Blitzwave
and you know, see what kind of stuff they got because it looked pretty cool.
Hasbro announcements, they released their entire panel on YouTube so you can go and
check that out if you want to.
Some main takeaways from their thing was the release of a Black Series Death Trooper helmet

(03:45):
as well as the 501st phase two Clone Trooper helmet and a 222nd Clone Trooper Legion Clone
Trooper helmet, which is Obi-Wan's orange Clone Troopers, 501st being Anakin's blue
ones.
So they got two variants for that on the way as well as a Death Trooper from Rogue One.
So that's super cool stuff.
Up for pre-order already as well as releasing this year.

(04:10):
The Old Republic MMO is getting quality of life updates, visual improvements and more.
The story continues with plot lines around Darth Malgus and the DLC or the expansion
is called Legacy of the Sith.
Rob Bredo came to the live stage for a chat about ILM, to chat about the ILM 50 year panel,

(04:33):
which is actually happening on day three, will feature a live recording of their next
podcast episode.
Rob also showed off a 50 year ILM crew shirt, which is available on Amazon right now outside
the company for the first time ever.

(04:54):
It can be picked up on Amazon just casually by anybody and there is a Star Wars Celebration
store on Amazon that you can get as long as you're browsing Amazon.com.
Unfortunately, if you are located in Canada or other countries, there's a chance that
that store is not there.
So just be aware of that.

(05:15):
You might have to get it through Amazon.com and then pay the duties and the shipping and
all that.
So, you know, maybe pass unless you're desperate.
Product spotlight happened for Jewel Brands, which they sell pins, rings, so much more
miscellaneous stuff.
Oki, the fruit carver, went back and talked about the art of fruit carving, which has

(05:36):
been going around for about a thousand years now, he said, which is pretty crazy.
He even carves in cork as well.
Booth spotlights included Rancho Obi-Wan spotlighted for their future plans, combining
multiple private collections to make a grand display called the Saga Museum.
So that's some plans that they have in store for the future.

(06:00):
Some more promotion happened for Young Jedi Adventures, season three, with lots of stuff
going on at the convention for all those those kids.
Back on the live stage, ILMxLABS brought up Jose Perez III to talk about Beyond Victory,
a mixed reality experience on MetaQuest.
We already talked about this a little bit two episodes ago on the show, but we got a

(06:24):
bit more information here.
So Sebulba returns in the story to help train you, the player or the person that you're
playing as the character. During the time period of Solo A Star Wars Story, Alyssa
Finley was up there as well and talked about the main character that you play as, and
his name is Volo.
There was a free comic book one shot leading into the Beyond Victory storyline, which

(06:48):
was available for pickup at the Meta booth at the convention.
So I'm sure there's going to be a lot of those being scalped online later after the
event. People are kind of probably be selling them for like, you know, 50 bucks a pop or
something like that. It's almost stupid.
So, you know, if you're a Marvel Comics collector, maybe snag those up quick before
they skyrocket in value.
If that's and maybe that's going to happen.

(07:10):
I don't know. But if you know somebody at Celebration, maybe get them to pick up one
or two. The Reign of the Empire era is when this game takes place.
This also adds a lot of story and motivation for the characters that would join a world
filled with podracing, you know, it's all for the thrill in a galaxy of gray.

(07:34):
There's full VR moments, which are the cut scenes and the big moments of the episode or
the game and the mixed reality moments where you see pass through to the room around you
and only virtualizes bits and pieces of it is when you use the holotables, what it's
called. And that's for when you're driving the podracer, almost like a 3D AR version

(07:54):
of Mario Kart, I guess is the best way I can describe it.
Footage of some of these modes exist in the sizzle reel that they released online.
And the release date is, quote, one of these days.
So we didn't actually get a release date from them, unfortunately.
But here's hoping that it's later this year.
Audio Technica is releasing Star Wars earbuds and over the ear Star Wars headphones with

(08:16):
character inspired designs from R2D2, Darth Vader, Grogu and the Mandalorian.
Back on the live stage, Kristen Baver brings out Ahmed Best and he discusses Jar Jar in
20 years of Revenge of the Sith Jedi Temple Challenge, creating his own Jedi character
for that game show, which was then adapted into the Mandalorian as Keller and Beck.

(08:37):
And fun fact is he made Keller into honor teachers.
He is a teacher who enjoys the process of teaching and is enthusiastic about it.
And so that's what he wanted to bring to the character Keller and Beck when he designed
the character for Jedi Temple Challenge, which is a YouTube game show for kids, which
is a Star Wars game show. So that was kind of cool.

(08:57):
He enjoys the Darth Jar Jar Theory and loves the cameo that he had in Rebuild the
Galaxy. Announced is Rebuild the Galaxy 2, officially called Rebuild the Galaxy Pieces
of the Past, which is the new Lego Star Wars movie that's going to come to Disney Plus.
Ahmed Best will return for that, which also means Darth Jar Jar will be back.

(09:20):
Ashley Eckstein will be returning to Star Wars as Ahsoka in Pieces of the Past, and she
will be voicing the character of Ahsoka Brickheads.
So that's kind of interesting.
And from the poster, we also see that Jackson will be coming as well.
So if anyone knows who Jackson is, it's a very long story.
I'm not going to get into it here, but it's spelled J-A-X-X-O-N, and in short, George

(09:45):
Lucas hated Jackson.
He's a basically just Bugs Bunny in Star Wars and kind of kind of silly to see him
show up as a character in this next Lego movie.
But there is almost no better way to present this character to screen other than in a
Star Wars Lego movie. So I think a lot of people are going to be looking forward to

(10:05):
that. Anthony brings out Andor actors Dedra and Cyril, the characters that is from
Andor, Denise Goh and Kyle Saller to the live stage to talk a little bit more about
Andor season two and what they achieved with telling another great Star Wars story.
And we can expect some twists for Cyril's character.

(10:26):
Alan Tudyk and Diego Luna came to the live stage as well, and there was a brief mention
that we will see the moment that they meet, which is Andor and K-2, that is.
This event is told in the Marvel Comics one shot, so they didn't actually mention the
one shot in the panel earlier in the day.
But for this particular event of the story, they did say that it seems like we will be

(10:47):
seeing it. So I am curious to see if they'll just completely ignore the events of the
comic book or if they'll at least try and adapt it as best as possible.
I guess we'll find out.
Tony Gilroy, Adria Jorna and Genevieve O'Reilly joined the live stage to talk about
Andor season two as well and their characters a bit more.
Nothing new came up there.

(11:07):
The Ahsoka panel began and Rosario Dawson, Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and Hayden
Christensen all joined the panel to talk about what they achieved with Ahsoka season
one and Ahsoka season two, which is shooting in one week from now.
It will also have eight episodes.
Dave Filoni wrote all of them.

(11:27):
And some interesting things of note, Hayden Christensen will be returning to Ahsoka
season two as Anakin Skywalker.
Rory, I forget his last name now, but there's the images floating around online about
about him because they released images of him in the Balin Skull costume because he

(11:48):
is reprising or I guess coming in as the role since we lost Ray Stevenson.
And, you know, it was a very kind of solemn moment in the panel.
But, you know, I think a lot of people are excited to see the character keep going.
They released pictures of some miniature models of some of the pre-production sets
that they're designing.

(12:09):
The Noti are coming back again, of course, and we will see Admiral Ackbar go head to
head against Admiral Thrawn.
So something else mentioned is that Thrawn versus Admiral Ackbar is going to be
probably a big part of season two of Ahsoka because half of season two is quoted by

(12:30):
Dave to be a giant war.
So I imagine that we're going to have one war going on in the galaxy we're familiar
with with Hera and Azra and Zeb and all those people versing the remnants of the
Empire. And then on the other hand, we'll have the Balin and Ahsoka and Sabine and
Shin Hattie storyline on a galaxy far, far away from from Ezra.

(12:52):
So I guess we'll see how that ties up.
And it sounds like season two could actually be the final season of this show,
unfortunately. So I guess hopefully there's no loose ends when that story wraps up.
Dave is actually still writing parts of the episodes and the cast has not read the
whole show just yet.

(13:15):
John Noel came to the live stage to talk about working on Skeleton Crew, some more
product spotlights were brought to light.
Royal Selangor has been around nearly 140 years and they've been crafting luxury chess
sets and products made of pewter dipped in gold.
And so it was cool to see some of the stuff that they brought celebration and you could

(13:35):
pick some of their luxury items up online.
Dave Filoni, John and Rosario talked to Ahsoka season two on the live stage for a
little bit. And of course, they did say Chopper.
We're going to get a lot more Chopper this season and Zeb, who Zeb only showed up in
Mandalorian season three, I think it was, which was kind of strange, but also really

(13:55):
cool. And it sounds like we're going to get him in Ahsoka as well.
So you're going to get the whole Rebels family back together again.
The Japanese dub cast of Ahsoka was brought out to the stage, main actors for Ahsoka and
Anakin came out and from the stream at home, you could not see the subtitles of what

(14:16):
they were saying. So that's all I can say about that.
Lots more Hasbro six inch action figures are coming out, most notably of the whole
the whole collection, which I'm not going to get into is Dash Rendar.
So, you know, shout out to you, Phil.
More products from Star Wars Plastic Model, which I believe is a company,
S.H. Figures, Bandai Spirit Booth.

(14:39):
If that rings a bell to anybody there, they presented a bunch of stuff, really cool
looking things. Lydia King, Tessa Gratton and Tessa Wong all joined the live stage to
talk about some Pirate Public three stuff and nothing new came up there.
They did a few more spotlights of some of the local booths.
Marvel came out with Ethan Sachs and a few other authors to talk about Dr.

(15:01):
Aphra, Vader's Legacy, Jedi Knights and so much more that we heard about in the Lucas
Film panel yesterday.
We had a bunch of things come up about Yaddle and Count Dooku teaming up in the Jedi
Knight story. We had some information about Dr.
Aphra exploring her younger life and the third Star Wars series, which is post Return

(15:22):
of the Jedi. We'll explore the time period up into the Mandalorian.
Japan's Rebel Legion got a spotlight and they encouraged anybody who lives in Japan to
check them out as well.
Manny Jaquinto joined the live stage, who is also known as the Stranger from the
Acolyte, and he was gifted the first ever Hasbro Black Series Stranger helmet that he

(15:44):
put on and people freaked out and it was really funny to look at.
So that was really cool.
They brought out Adam Christopher and some other authors to talk about the upcoming pages
of the books that they were being talked about in the Lucas Film publishing panel.
Some of the Star Wars manga team came up to talk about their projects ongoing.
Off screen, Doug Chang had a master class working in the Star Wars art department, which

(16:09):
was too bad that we didn't get to see any of that.
And the big news was the release and the reveal of Star Wars Zero Company, which we did
talk about earlier this week.
But more information about this game was revealed.
It is a tactical based tactical based game set during the Clone Wars from EA Respawn
Bit Reactor coming 2026 in a year from now, a bunch of information was revealed about

(16:33):
it, completely customizable characters for the main story.
So the main characters will retain the same names through the course of the game.
But you can customize their look if you want the main character to be a Twi'lek instead
of a human, you can make that happen.
You can customize their voices as well.
So the main cinematic aspect of it is very up to your own preference.

(16:56):
You play as a character called Hawks, a disgraced former rebel officer, Republic
officer, sorry, and leader of Zero Company.
This game will be filled with player choices, very cinematic, and Zero Company will be
going up against a force that can't be faced by a standard army.
They describe it as the war beneath the war.

(17:18):
So that was really cool to see some close ups of these characters that you could play
as in the game or direct in the game.
The main base that they congregate in is located on the Ring of Khafrein as seen in
Rogue One and the board game Outer Rim.
Lots of other familiar planets will be showing up in this game.

(17:38):
The main ship that you have in this game is wicked cool.
And your pilot droid is known as Mevo, M3BO, so lots of cool stuff.
There's going to be lots of surprises, more information coming soon.
This will be released on Steam and Epic Games for PC and Xbox Series X as well as PS5.

(17:58):
Topps Trading Cards revealed that they are the longest running merch partner since
1977, and they showed up to the event as well, showcasing their Mayo product and lots
of other things. So shout out to all the Topps Cards collectors out there.
There was actually recently a local convention near my place, which there was
tons of people who were buying and trading Topps Cards for hockey and all this and

(18:21):
that. So, you know, they've been in the Star Wars game since 1977.
So, you know, big respect for that.
All right, more from Doug Chang and Skeleton Crew talked about his work on that and
his upcoming book, The Cinematic Legacy and Star Wars Legacy from Doug Chang coming
later this year. Tamora Morrison and Daniel Logan came to the live stage to talk a

(18:45):
little bit about the Fett family and being involved in Star Wars.
Ashley Eckstein came back out and hyped up the crowd and announced that her universe
is launching a new collection at Disney Parks just in time for Seasons of the Force
and May the 4th. So look forward to that soon.
They brought out Alan Tudyk again, as well as just closing it off for the day from

(19:07):
Anthony and Kristen. And that was day two.
That was Saturday of the convention.
And here we are rolling into day three, the final day.
You can prep for Fortnite and Disney Parks information, as well as the Visions Volume
3 panel, which is set to start right away when the day begins.
So stay tuned for all that information and more little tips on what we're going to be

(19:31):
able to look forward to next from Visions Volume 3 and so on and so forth.
So that is all, folks.
May the force be with you.
And we will see you in the next episode of Star Wars Escape Pod.
