(00:00):
Time to abandon ship.

(00:05):
Oh no!
Here we go.
Can I persuade you to join us for a drink?
It's a tradition.
Here, here.
Jar Jar, homie, my main man, quickly.
Before the separatists attack, get into the escape pod.

(00:28):
Hey!
This is escape, then we're the pod.
This is escape pod!
Welcome back to Star Wars Escape Pod.
I'm your host, Josh, and this is another week of the Bad Batch After Show,
with only two left in the series.

(00:49):
We're diving deep into Season 3, Episode 14.
Well, I guess this is the last one, the second last one in the series.
And then we'll have one more.
This was an interesting episode, it's called Flash Strike,
and we're going to be joining Darien as well as our co-host, Blake,
in the podcast, in the escape pod.
And then after, we'll transition to some fan questions from Syfy on the Rock.

(01:15):
Shout out to everyone in Newfoundland right now.
Thank you so much for dropping by and answering some questions for us
on the behalf of Star Wars Escape Pod.
And yeah, we'll get into that, I guess, later in the episode,
so stay tuned for that.
Let's get into it.

(01:50):
Another happy landing.
Well, hello there, Blake.
Hello there, Chut-Chut.
Chut-Chut.
Always good to have you back.
Another Star Wars week.
Thanks, dude. Good to be here.
Very, very exciting.
So this is basically the pre-season finale.

(02:12):
Yeah.
The penultimate episode of the season.
Yeah.
The penultimate episode of the season.
The pre-season finale.
Yeah.
The penultimate episode of the series.
Which is pretty nuts.
I know, I thought there was going to be two more
just because I happened to notice on Disney Plus
that the other seasons had 16 episodes.

(02:34):
Oh, we got two left.
Exactly.
So yeah, I mean, honestly, I'm not entirely sure how far it could go.
But yeah, here's our guest this week, Darian.
Welcome back to Star Wars Escape Pod.
Hello. Good to have you back.
Chut-Chut to you, Darian.
Yeah, Chut-Chut.
And your insight into some of these characters

(02:56):
has always been very interesting to hear.
So your take on the psych-geist, if you will,
of some of these characters.
It might be a garbage compactor on the other end.
Yeah.
I think we lost Darian.
I went down to shoot.

(03:18):
I can still hear you.
There you go.
Be careful. I think it might be magnetically sealed down there.
Yeah.
So Flash Strike.
This is the 14th episode of season 3.
This was directed by Nate Villanueva
and written by Brad Rowe.
Names that we hear many times.
And this came out April 24th, 2024.
And I will read the summary here.

(03:40):
We can just dive right in.
Hemlock is alerted that the Bad Batch infiltrated the Relay Station
and sends fighters to intercept the incoming vessel.
Hunter, Wrecker, Crosshair, and Rampart
are forced to crash near Tantus Base
and continue on foot.
Hunted by stormtrooper patrols
with the base on high alert,
Omega takes advantage of the distraction

(04:02):
to scout her planned escape route
and finds the Zillow Beast in an underground enclosure.
In the jungle, Rampart accidentally awakens
a large creature that attacks them.
He is separated from the others
and gets captured.
Echo infiltrates the base and encounters
Embry, who tells them about the other children
being held with Omega.
So it really was kind of just another
episode that progressed the same story.

(04:24):
We've been watching for weeks now.
I feel like it was...
Yeah. It's weird to think that
this is kind of the finale because it feels like
it's not even anywhere close to being over.
You know what I mean?
It has all built up to this moment,
but I know what you mean. The momentum is not quite there.
You've dropped one specific word
that I actually wasn't sure if it was the case or not.
Zillow Beast.

(04:46):
Has this been confirmed?
The Zillow Beast from the Clone Wars?
Yeah, so we have seen it.
So Omega was looking through the rafters
of that tube, the air ducts.
I wondered if that was the Zillow Beast
from Clone Wars.
I paused it on the frame and I looked.
That's a fully grown Zillow Beast.
Because I didn't compare. Wait, fully grown?
Because Zillow Beast in Clone Wars

(05:08):
skyscraper size was basically Godzilla.
I think it is skyscraper size is just in a giant pool.
Like it must be really deep.
It's really tall.
A lot of room left or right, but it's really tall.
Yeah, that place is amazing.
Amazingly tall.
Yeah, but
Darian, what did you think
of this episode?
I didn't feel like this one moved as much as...

(05:30):
It's all stuff that we needed to see
and I was kind of
waiting for the Zillow Beast.
The last week being like,
I think the Zillow Beast is going to be the like,
this is how we're going to escape, just unleash
havoc. So I'm happy
that they foreshadowed that.
You think the Zillow Beast
is the Calvary.
The last episode

(05:52):
is called
what's it called? The Calvary
has arrived.
So maybe the Zillow Beast
is the Calvary.
I'm hoping that the Calvary
is the Clone Underground,
personally.
Oh, that'd be cool. That was a story thread
I really wanted to follow and we just didn't get
anywhere. Yeah, you mentioned this

(06:14):
way early on the series. You wanted to see
the clones versus like clones.
Yeah, dude, like the old EU
so originally when Palpatine
did Order 66, there was like
two types of clones.
There was like the original clones that were through the ward
and there's the Flash clones and then they used
the Flash clones to turn on the regular clones
and then there's the Battle of Kamino.
You may have played that new

(06:36):
Battlefront 2 game. Yes.
So in that specific
scenario, the Kaminoans
continued to create more
Django clones and they were then trying
to defend against the Empire.
Was that something you would
want to see, Darren? Yeah, I
was surprised that they didn't go that direction.
Like that was probably my favorite
part of Battlefront 2's

(06:58):
that arc that, you know,
it's brother versus brother.
You get to see Mark 1 versus Mark 2
are brother versus brother. Like there was a lot
that really went on there. Brother
versus brother, yeah. Man, it was
such a good storyline. I'm so surprised
they didn't keep it in. But we kind
of got like a little bit of it and
I believe it was the first season of Bad Batch.
Yeah. Because they were on

(07:20):
Kamino there, right? It's just we never actually
saw Open by Gorg.
Right. Yeah, that was more like
you have a
completely uniform set of
clones and then you've got these abnormalities
that are affront
to their entire culture. Right.
So it's not exactly the same
thing as fighting literally the
exact copy of you and

(07:42):
what your culture has been.
I can trust them because they army
up to that point. They army.
The army.
It's an army of armies. The army of armies.
Look at Rick's come up with an army so quickly.
I would love to
like pick Filoni's brain
on why they didn't do it though. Because like
I feel like that was a much better story arc.

(08:04):
Maybe, is there any wiggle room left?
Have we now like completely solidified
that canon area? Because I know
as we saw through the Bad Batch series.
Oh yeah, see? There we go. See
that should have been the battle. They just
skipped that part. I guess
now they're changing it. Now instead
of the home of the clones,
now it's going to be the home of these new
TK units. You know, the ones that are

(08:26):
being trained by the commandos.
On Kamino? No, but I find it very
eerily similar in sort of a
parallel way that the buildings on
Tantus, the way that the mountains are shaped and
everything, are kind of reminiscent
of the domed planets on
Kamino. You know, like the big training facilities
on Kamino and the cloning factories, right?
It's basically almost like just a different version
of that, but for stormtroopers.

(08:48):
Yeah, a little more triangular.
But still kind of the same
sort of idea. You know, it's just a big,
massive fricking thing. You know,
it doesn't look like your typical military
garrison, if you will,
or whatever you want to call it, the
barracks. You know, just like your typical
vehicles everywhere,
lots of concrete, lots of
small structures,

(09:10):
kind of like a mini city.
It's not really like that. It's
kind of like Kamino in the sense that it's
these massive buildings
that have a curvatureed shape,
even though it's like a mountain.
It's a mountain. If anything, I think it's
closer to, what is it?
Starkiller Base. Yeah, but that's like a whole
planet. Yeah, that's like the most
extreme version of it, right?

(09:32):
Right, right, yeah. Well, if you think about it,
that's a good metaphor between
them, because you've got
on Kamino, everything's very plain and
round and not much detail,
which is a good metaphor for the clones. You know,
they're all identical. There's not much variance.
Then you go to Tantus, and you've got all
these trees and life, and
it's way more protected, and they don't
trust anything, and there's

(09:54):
multiple of them, but they're trying to
essentially do the same thing. And then
when you go to Starkiller
Base, everything's dead on the planet,
and everything's been strip mined,
and they're still patrolling it, even though
there's really no threat there.
What did you guys like about
this episode? Because I enjoyed
the action, and
Omega sneaking around,

(10:16):
and stuff. Echo was sneaking around. I actually
really enjoyed Echo. Yeah, Echo
finally echoed doing useful
things, like that's kind of the nicest
part about it. And he got a hand. Yeah, he got a hand
fricking finally, like at the end
of the series, man, like I've been saying
this for like three seasons, like
can we not just put that Long John
Silver arm on him from Treasure Planet and call
him dead, right? That'd be the coolest. Yeah,

(10:38):
but instead he just steals this droid's hand,
which means he could have gotten the hand at
any point in the last
three seasons.
Yeah, it's too bad he never worked at the
droid shop, right? Yeah.
He was able to steal
shuttles, and recruit troopers,
and all these things. We just never had time
to find a droid hand. Dude, it's
just like, it bothers me. I love that

(11:00):
it just like plug and play, like
just, oh, it happened to be the same USB
stick that I have. Yeah. I
wondered that too. Well, that's the thing. It's such
a universal, it's like the Philips screwdriver,
like that plug-in
is the same thing that all the Astromech droids have,
which is the same plug-in that
like every faction in Star
Wars universe uses for their computer
terminals, it seems. It's the USB.

(11:22):
It's believable. Yeah, it's believable
that this is like the USB type
A of Star Wars, right? Like it
almost seems like, yeah, if you have a droid,
like it would be kind of, you know, plug and play
sort of simple to just, you know,
if you need data transfer plus power,
boom, there you go. It's like one port.
What I wondered then was the droid
I stole it from, which I forget the specific
code of its, what

(11:44):
droid it is, but it's the same one that we see
in Rebels, right? Yeah. So maybe
wondering. Yeah, I believe they call it the Death
Star droid originally. Right. Let's go
with that then. So the Death Star droid,
did we ever see him remove his hand
in Rebels? Because that's what I was wondering. No.
Because that would mean for him to
access any computer terminal, he'd have to take his
hand off. You know, the one that
sounded a bit like Severus Snape,

(12:06):
that one? Yeah, the one that was fighting with
Chopper. Yeah, yeah, that one. Yeah, yeah.
Forget his name. But no, we never saw him remove his hand.
The one that was happy when he was floating out in space.
That's right. Yeah, him. The one that's saying
to himself. My favorite moment of Rebels
is, no, no, leave me. I was finally
happy.
He's in the empty void.
Oh, man.
So it just made me think, though,

(12:28):
if he ever needs to connect
to a computer terminal, he's going to take
his hand off, and they don't exactly
have Dexter's hands, protocol droid. So I don't
know if you ever get picked up, put it back on.
Yeah, yeah. See, where
my brain immediately went to is, hey, you
can give every R2 unit in the
universe a hand down.
I didn't even think about that.
If there's any

(12:50):
droid builders listening, it needs to be done.
I've
obviously I've got
the one note saying, Zillow
Beast returns. And I
know you already mentioned this, but
I'm pretty curious about
this. It's probably the biggest thing in the episode.
That's the thing, right? So if anyone's
curious as to what Zillow Beast is, and
we keep going on about Zillow Beast through Bad Batch,

(13:12):
this is a creature that did show up in the
Clone Wars and had an arc in
season two of Star Wars
the Clone Wars. And basically
the Republic go to the homeworld of the Dugs
and help them do
something to get their fuel, but
basically they have to kill this
Zillow Beast, and it's like this drop
that lives in the ground and stuff. Yeah,
and basically they managed to

(13:34):
subdue it to the point where they had
to, under the Chancellor's orders,
bring it back to Coruscant
to research, yeah.
The worst place to bring a giant lizard.
It's a whole Godzilla episode where this thing gets out
because it gets angry at the look of
Palpatine. Oh man,
remember who beats it up? Mace Windu,
the guy who survived.

(13:56):
Well, yeah,
it breaks out, causes chaos in the city,
big power outages, it was
could have been really cool if it
was done in modern visuals.
These shows have improved so much since season
two of Clone Wars. And yeah,
it was an interesting episode. Any fans of
Godzilla would like it. And then they never really talked
about it again. Yeah, it was weird.
I guess they did. It died,

(14:18):
and then Palpatine
was said, like, clone the beast,
and then they were like, okay, and then they never brought
it up for the rest of Clone Wars. I think Darien
is going to point on this. What was that, Darien?
They had it at the beginning, it was a bad batch.
Remember, they accidentally drop it on
that planet, and it's sucking all the power out
of the machines. It kind of looked like an alien
at first. Yeah, but that was bad batch, not
Clone Wars. It still came back,

(14:40):
though. It still came back. Yeah, yeah, but
we've seen Zillabeast again,
you know, in like a small form,
like what Darien was saying there. But like
for the rest of Clone Wars, we never saw it
again. It got pretty big, it was sucking all the power
out of the military base.
But for like, my point being,
like, the last time that we saw this creature
in a different show was like 2009
or something, or 2008.

(15:02):
Right. Like it was a long time ago. Over 10 years ago.
Yeah, like that's when this creature was like
come up, came up with, that's where
the story thread goes back to, right?
So like, for us to come all the way
all this time, and finally
kind of pick up the pieces, and it's like,
okay, this is where that was going.
It's pretty nuts. Josh, when you watched
that episode of Clone Wars with Zillabeast,
how old were you? I think I must have been like

(15:24):
14. Okay. And how old were you when they showed up
in Bad Batch?
Oh man, 2026?
It's a long time.
Yeah.
It's a long time, dude. Like, it's like over a
decade of waiting. Same with
Barriss. Barriss Offie. Like, we didn't
find out what happened to Barriss, like, and that came
out, like, at the end of season five.
And that was

(15:46):
a dead end story for the longest time,
up until literally this past year
with the trailer for Tales of the Empire. A really
interesting character that had an interesting arc.
She's one of the few Jedi that turned
on the order. Yeah. And then they just left
it. Yeah. We've been waiting ten years.
Ten years. And we all speculated
that she would become an Inquisitor, and now we're
going to see an episode where she's interacting with Inquisitors.
Yeah, exactly.

(16:08):
We finally get our wish.
But yeah, so it's cool to see that back. But
I love that, because one of the
first rules of writing is always leave them wanting
more. They made you wait a decade
for each one of those storylines
to be finished. Yeah. Just like George
Lucas.
I think that there's bad batches
got so many things going currently
that they haven't answered.

(16:30):
I'm hoping we get answered in another series.
It's not ten years from now, right?
Right. Exactly.
How did you guys like
that beast that showed, that big huge bear
thing? Like, what did you think of that? How the heck
did it not hear them right next to it?
So it was sitting there, this thing is
surviving in the jungle and it just sleeps
through it to the point where... It was one of those

(16:52):
classic big
monster reveals where you don't know it's a
monster until it breathes or
turns around or whatever.
Well, when you're the biggest, baddest thing
walking through the valley of death, you don't fear
much. That's true. I think it's probably pretty
hungry. It's pretty big.
It was
hibernating. That's true. It was kind of bear
like. It was very similar to a shot in The Hobbit

(17:14):
where Bilbo's standing by
Smog's eye and then he opens
his eye and you realize like, oh, shoot,
like that's a face.
They did that in Solo with the big squid thing too.
Yeah. Yeah. Oh, did they? Yeah.
Inside of the
Kessel Run. Yeah. Right.
So, yeah, it was
cool to see that. But man, like, again,
I'm kind of persistent on my feeling with

(17:36):
this show. Like, each week I just...
It's like I want each episode to continue
because I feel like it needs a proper
conclusion. But I feel like none of these
episodes have a proper conclusion.
Do you know what I mean? Like when we had Rebels
for a while, we had sort
of like one shots each week
and then it got to the point where we had story arcs.
So then we had like two or three episodes at a time
that would have like a story. But I feel like...

(17:58):
Yeah. But now I feel like
The Bad Batch is kind of an ongoing
week to week mini chapter
in like a larger story, which I don't really know
how I feel about that. I mean, it hasn't
more or less always been like that just with
filler episodes. Well, I mean, there can be
like a continuing thing, but it doesn't
really feel like there's any big breaks
between the events of
this show. Like it feels like each episode

(18:20):
directly kind of feeds into the
next one and then it just keeps rolling.
Right. But is that just the season? Because we're leading
into a finale. Well, I think it's been like
that for a while. Like this entire season
has kind of been that way. But even last season it was a bit
like that too. I don't know. What's your
take on that, Darren?
They've been showing us a lot of stuff that
they need to, but it seems like they're
spending a lot of time drawing it out, which

(18:42):
for some of the storyline,
you definitely need to. You can't just
gloss over things because fans will be upset
that you didn't. But then fans are upset
that why does this need to be a whole
episode showing us how they got to Tantus,
right? So I don't know what
the balance is there. Maybe having a
beef storyline going somewhere
else to maybe liven it up a bit.
But I think

(19:04):
they're doing it pretty well. And
this next episode is potentially
going to be an incredible amount
of information trying to wrap up
several storylines, which they could easily
do. But it depends on how much
they want to save for the spin-off series
they've alluded that's going to happen.
I'm very curious about that spin-off series.
What will happen
with that and how it connects to

(19:26):
the Bad Batch, if at all, right?
Has that been confirmed by LucasFilm
or is it just- I mean, it's kind of obvious it's happening.
It's not been confirmed, but it's obvious.
This is the second last episode. The whole
Bad Batch is still around. Omega is still
captured. There's no way that they're
just like- they got one more episode up
their sleeve and was like, oh, that's it, folks. We're never going to see these
characters again. And plus
they just brought Ventress back. She showed up in one

(19:48):
episode and left. And I was like,
dude, of course it's going to be a spin-off series.
Of course. It's going to happen.
The question is, what's it going to be like?
Yeah, I guess it could.
Well, I mean, Tales of the Empire, though,
it's looking a little slim, a bit like Tales
of the Jedi. It looks like it's just going to be those six episodes
and then that's it. And then they'll move on to something else.
But I wonder if Ventress
has a bigger story in a bigger,

(20:10):
longer show. You know, maybe she'll be like a primary
character in a spin-off series itself,
which might involve her and Omega.
And maybe Quinlan Vos, who knows? I mean, in Kenobi-
That would be pretty interesting. In Kenobi, they alluded to the fact
that he was in fact alive still.
Didn't they both die in that novel?
No, no, he was still alive. Okay.
I was going to just be really annoyed.
No, he was still alive,
but Ventress should have, should have,

(20:32):
yeah, they should have left her dead.
She had a good death. See, I-
Even when you read that passage from the end
of that book, it didn't tell me that
Ventress was actually dead. It only told me that
he thought Ventress was actually dead.
Well, I mean, sure, Corpse had
been brought back from one system
to an entire other system
and then placed in the waters
and, you know, had a few- Yeah, but they're the

(20:54):
Queens of Resurrection. That's true.
Right, but well, there's none of them left, though. Like, it was just
the waters themselves. It wasn't- there's no
Nightsisters there. Well, there's Morgan.
It was just Obi-Wan and- And what are they called, the waters?
What are they called, the waters?
Oh, they're called the, I think, what are they called?
The Living Waters or something?
Living Waters is Mandalore. Oh, right.
I don't know. Waters of Life.
Waters of Life, I believe, is what the Ventress

(21:16):
their Nightsisters called them.
I could be wrong on that. Let me look
that up. Yeah, the thing is, like,
man, if it was so simple to bring people
back from the dead like that, like,
it just- I mean, Rey did it.
It would happen way more frequently,
I guess, is what I'm trying to say. Like, even
when the Nightsisters bring back other
Nightsisters from the dead, they're like zombies.
So, like, I feel like there was still some

(21:38):
sort of respect for leaving
somebody dead, you know? But even though they're, like,
reanimated, like, it's not really quite like
bringing them back. But yeah, I mean, like, I don't
know. I don't- I really want to know what
their excuses for bringing back the character, because I'm, like,
I'm growing so less fond of bringing
all these characters back. Like, I feel like,
you know, there's something- there's something
nice about a story that ends, you know what I mean?
So you don't want to-

(22:00):
Like, I don't- like, as much as I love
the character, I don't want her character to
be around forever. Like, I want her to have a good
end, right? I think they- I think
a lot of these shows struggle
with popular characters
dying. Yeah, they do. They want
to tell a good story, but then-
Well, it's like Cad Bane, dude. It's like Cad Bane. Like,
look what they did to Cad Bane. They brought Cad Bane
back in the canon. Look what they did to my boy.

(22:22):
In the canon, he was supposed to be dead, like, in those
deleted scenes from the unreleased
Columbus episode. Like, you could argue, okay, well
now it's never happened because it was technically
never released. But they showed that footage,
so fans have always been aware of, and
storytellers at Lucasfilm have been aware
of the fact that Cad Bane was the one that
put the dent in that Boba Fett helmet. Yeah,
that was a cool story. And Boba was the one that shot
Cad Bane in the face, which made him the greatest

(22:44):
bounty hunter in the galaxy, right?
It was a good storyline, yeah. It was a good storyline, because
that's how, like, Boba kind of, like, becomes
Boba and, like, takes that spot
as, like, the number one guy, right? Is that supposed to be
the final season? That was the final, that was supposed
to be in the final season. Yeah. And then
that final season never happened. Yeah. So the
scene never happened, right? But the footage was
kind of released just on, on, you can find
on YouTube. And then Book of Boba

(23:06):
comes out. They brought Cad Bane back for, like,
what, three episodes? And then they kill them.
And it's like, if you ask anyone out there,
you, by Boba Fett, again,
and you ask anyone out there, do you like
the Book of Boba Fett? You'll probably get a no. And
here's the other thing. Do you like the way Cad Bane
died versus how he would
have died in the Clone Wars? Well, it's the same
thing, but. But which, is it better, though?
The timeline is better. Is it, is it better?

(23:28):
Yeah, but say, I, I prefer the Clone Wars
death. I prefer how it happened.
I prefer the, the whole, like, western,
like, shoot out in the street.
Yeah. Over the, let's stab him in the chest
after, like, a brawl, right? I just prefer
the Clone Wars overall for how
they handle that character's death. That's interesting.
And I do feel a big story
point that got missed because they changed it
was the coming of age of Boba Fett becoming the.

(23:50):
That's another thing. It's
big character moments, right? And it's not just
about the character dying. It's about the other characters
around that character. Like, what does it do
to Quinlan Vos as a character now that Ventress
is back? And also,
if Cad Bane was around the entire time
of the original trilogy, was Boba Fett really
the bad, most badass bounty hunter? That's the
thing. Like, where's he, where Cad Bane been
that whole time, right? Like, why wasn't he

(24:12):
shooting, like, looking out over the Falcon
and stuff like that, right? So it
it was such a good ending for the character.
And then they just kind of botched it. And I was like,
man, plus you look at Cad
Bane live action. I've only got criticism
for it. Like, there's nothing good about the
live action face. You know, it doesn't look like a
no, it doesn't look like a Doris at all. So it's like,
man, I've got nothing good to say about it. So
whenever they bring a character back from the debt.

(24:34):
Plus, I mean, I don't only give it start on Palpatine,
but I mean, like whenever they bring
a character back that's supposed to be done,
like, OK, this better be like friggin
amazing for you to bring
this character back to make it better
than the first time around. Like
Darth Maul, I feel like that was like
a success, more or less. Yeah.
The character got significantly more development.
Yeah, exactly. Right. And it's like,

(24:56):
man, I feel like Ventress has just had her time.
Like, she's just had so much time
in the Clone Wars. She was a great, all
rounded out character. She and her
finale was finally
coming to
terms with, like, loving
somebody for the first time in her life.
And then knowing what it is to sacrifice
oneself for that. And then leaving
it there, you know, and it sort of painted this

(25:18):
really nice parallel with the whole Vader
Luke relationship. And
but differently. And I feel
like it was such a good ending. And now they brought her back.
It's like all that's kind of moot at this point.
So I'm just kind of torn up about it
because I know that so many people love the character back.
You can argue this with every character that's come back. You say
the same thing about Luke, right? He came back in the sequels,
like undated a lot of his character development.
Well, yeah, but he never died in the

(25:40):
original trilogy. Now, I don't mind
returning characters that have disappeared
for a while. Like, no, I'm telling you,
specifically resurrection. Specifically
resurrection. That's only a handful. It's
Maul, Ventress, Oba, Palpatine,
Cad Bane.
They kind of did it to Savage as well.
Like, Savage wasn't dead, but
they rebirthed him in the same
manner as they did with Maul.

(26:02):
Rebirth who? Savage
Opress. Savage Opress.
Like, they drastically changed
who he was. Savage never died.
Well, he stayed dead. When he died,
he stayed dead. When did he come back,
Darian? No, I know.
So when they do the whole trials thing,
they bring him back to the
Nightsisters temple and
they baptize him in the water

(26:24):
the same way that they did with Maul.
So I'd add him to that list even
though he wasn't dead. They
drastically changed who he was
because he's all of a sudden a foot taller,
more muscular,
can all of a sudden take laser blasts.
From that Nightsister magic.
Yeah. Right. Yeah, I guess
I'm just saying. I see what you're saying because technically
he, like, was resurrected or like

(26:46):
Well, like, he was alive when
they did the magic process and then
they beastified him, right?
Beastification.
Yeah, the beastification magic. But he never
died, right? He never, like,
He was just enchanted. He was just enchanted,
right? Yeah. And then when he died, he lost all
the magic and died, died, right?
So, but yeah, I don't know. I mean, like,
I guess

(27:08):
it's like the Ventress thing comes
back to, like, the whole Mace Windu.
You know, like, is she
alive or is he alive?
Actually, Darian, before
we give our probable points of pooties on this, do you think
Mace Windu is alive or do you think he's dead?
I kind of hope he's dead. I
originally wanted him to come back,
but there are way too many Jedi alive
post Order 66.

(27:30):
He falls, like, eight or nine
stories because around the Senate
building, there's that platform
with all the statues and everything on it, right?
There's no way, no matter how powerful
he is, he's waking up before he hits
the ground. Right, right. Exactly. Exactly.
That's my whole thought, too. I think, like, he's dead
dead. Like, that guy is squashed
to smithereens. We did do
the math. Yeah.

(27:52):
I love Samuel L. Jackson. I want
him more in Star Wars. Don't get me
wrong, but I don't want him to
come back at this point. No. There's already been
way too many Jedi survive. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Exactly. It would just be a joke at that point.
Like, I don't know. And here's
the thing. If they made, like,
a young Sam Jackson, like,
you know, if they de-aged him and brought
him back as, like, a prequel. They'd probably have to

(28:14):
recast at that point. I don't know. They did
it with Hayden, right? Like, you know, they can do it
with him. Like, they did it with him in Captain
Marvel and that turned out really well.
So, like, if they do that with him
in, like, a Clone Wars era thing, like,
sign me up, right? Like, if he's in
a story that's before he died, sign me up.
If Ventress is in a story before she died,
sign me up, right? Same with Palpatine.
Doesn't matter who it is. I want to see the story from

(28:36):
the old Clone Wars game where Mace Windu
is driving tanks.
It's not that I don't want to see these characters
not keep going. It's just I don't want to see
them keep going after they're supposed to be gone, right?
Yeah. I know what you're saying. Yeah.
To bring him back. Right. Yeah. Like, I want
to see more of Mace Windu, but give me a comic book
but when he's, like, still alive type thing.
Don't give me the story of his resurrection.
If they keep bringing Pugue back, then they can

(28:58):
do more merch.
No! Hit the button.
Oh, I don't have that one.
Have you read any of
Mark Bernarden's Mace Windu series?
I haven't, but I keep meaning to do it.
I'm so behind on the comic books, and
I would love to get into that
one, the Mace Windu miniseries, but
yeah, I have not. Have you
read it? Yeah, have you read it? I haven't.

(29:20):
I haven't collected comic books
in a few years now, but I, that's
why I really want to read, because I'm a huge fan
of Mark Bernarden, as you probably figured by
me knowing his name. Has he done any other Star Wars
miniseries or ongoing
series? I don't think so. He has worked
on Star Trek, and
he does that show
Fat Man Beyond
with Kevin Smith

(29:42):
all the time. Oh, yeah.
If it's something in nerd culture,
he's probably worked on it at some point.
Fair enough. Sounds cool, then.
He worked on
the Dungeons and Dragons series critical role.
He worked on that.
I'm sure if I
pulled up his IMDB, you guys would be
amused.
I'm going to wrap our

(30:04):
Bad Batch thing, so
let's give some Pablo points to Poodoos.
Three Pablo Poodoos
is the worst of the worst. Moving on from there, you got
two Pablo Poodoos, and then one Pablo
Poodoos, and a Bendu. A Bendu is
a 50% score, and then we
have Pablo points. One Pablo point
is good, two Pablo points is
great, and three Pablo points
is the best of the best of the best.

(30:26):
So, Darian, what is your
score for this episode of the Bad Batch?
I'm going to give it a Bendu. There are
a lot happens in setup
wise. I loved the
crash entrance at the beginning, but other than that
it was definitely a fill in the
blanks episode. Yeah, for sure.
I'm going to give it a Bendu as well.
I feel like that's probably the best way to put it.
It was cool finally seeing Echo

(30:48):
back doing stuff and the
Zillabeast, but that's pretty much all I got for it.
Omega sneaking around, fine. I don't know.
Well, I'll say this episode, Echo was very
handy. He was very
handy.
I'll throw it
a bone. I'll give it a half
a Pablo point.
It did feel a little bit
stretched, just kind of setting up the

(31:10):
next episode. I feel like there probably could have been
more. Definitely. First time I watched it,
it definitely felt like pretty slowly
paced, which is a little bit bizarre
considering it's the season finale
or pre-finale. Yeah, I would
say so. I thought there'd be one more.
I guess I was basically also impartial
in the fact that it was such slow
pacing. Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
It didn't really leave you with a big cliffhanger.

(31:32):
I mean, technically it's like, oh, what are they going to do to escape?
But I guess
the only cliffhanger was that guy
got caught, right? That's basically it.
It didn't feel like that high stakes. Yeah,
Rampart. Yeah, he got caught by
the Imperials and that was pretty much it, though.
I mean, who cares about him? Also,
okay, I got one more thing to bring
up because this actually annoyed me.
So when Omega was crawling

(31:54):
around in the vents, the blood
transport things, whatever those elevators
were, and the kids were stalling,
right? And then it
was like in the last second she showed up and
was able to make it look like she didn't escape.
Wasn't there a big hole in the wall right next to
her? She wouldn't have enough time to put those tiles back
and not make any noise. I know, right? I don't know.
Oh, who knows? Who knows?
Right. I mean, just

(32:16):
hopefully don't look to the right. I feel like that's the least
like if I'm going to be picky
about like things like that. That's a pretty
big one, though. I feel like all I had to
do was add one extra scene where while they're stalling,
she's like quickly like putting a tile back or
something. It would have been so easy. It would
have been nice, actually, to see her like just lean
on the last one. Yeah, exactly. Exactly.
It's kind of brush it over. You know, it's so easy
to do. I don't know why I just overlooked it.

(32:38):
It would have added tension for sure. Yeah.
Anyways. Well, that's that.
We only got one more episode left in the series.
The Calvary has arrived, I believe it is.
And yeah, and then it's over. Then
it's done. And then I mean, next week
we've got May the 4th coming up.
So we have some fun, fun stuff
planned for May 4th. Maybe we'll do another trivia
game. Also, May 4th for
anyone in North America.

(33:00):
There was a re-release for
for the Phantom Menace for the 25th
anniversary. So that's going to be really cool.
So if anyone has tickets for that,
you know, maybe see you there.
But otherwise, you know,
have fun. Yeah.
Have fun watching Star Wars at home.
Well, there's probably going to be some sweet
sales or something, right? Oh, dude.
Yeah. Yeah. So May 4th sales,

(33:22):
video games, all
the all the all the sorts. Oh yeah.
Add anything you want. Star Wars to your wishlist now
so you don't forget. Absolutely.
And we'll talk about this more after we do some fan questions.
But we'll exit you out, Darian.
Thanks so much for joining us
for Bad Batch After Show. And
I guess we'll we'll catch you at a later time.
Thank you very much for having me. And everyone
have a good May the 4th and Revenge of the

(33:44):
5th and 6th. Always two there are, no
more, no less. Nice. Nice.
Good chatting with you, man. Good chatting with you.
Have a great night. Take it easy.
That's quickly before we get too far into it.
Welcome, Kyle, from Alki Solutions.

(34:06):
Yeah.
Don't mention that.
Yeah.
To anyone new this week
who I guess a lot of people who are new this week
might actually be from from Newfoundland.
So, you know, nice to
to have. That's very true.
As those people, isn't it? Yeah. So
say again. Oh, I was just going to say,
yeah, they're going to love hearing

(34:28):
hearing themselves on
the podcast here. And I told so many
of them to tune in. So I'm really
looking forward to to seeing,
you know, like the Facebook or the
Instagram kind of blow up afterwards. Be like
I hurt myself. Yeah.
Awesome. Yeah. Yeah. It'll be good.
I'll play the ones that you sent us through
through Discord. And I know there's more coming
because we couldn't get a few of them out.

(34:50):
But we'll save when we do get those
from you. We'll do those ones on May 4th
for Star Wars Day. So
anyone who did do a question with
you and doesn't hear yourself today,
you can catch that one on May 4th.
So yeah, we'll start off with the first one
here and take
take a listen. All right.
Hi, I'm here with Connor.
Hi there, Connor. So, Connor, my question for you is

(35:12):
if you only had one question
for George Lucas, what would it be?
I want to ask him
if he'd come back and do the Darth Maul
Darth Kalan sequel series. See
that I agree. That is a dang
good one. OK. All right, everybody.
Yeah. So yeah, that's a
good one. Yeah, the Darth Darth Maul
Darth Talon. So and George
famously loves Darth Talon. I would

(35:34):
love to see that movie. I think
I even talked to the guy for like five, six minutes
afterwards. And I was like, look, that would be
epic.
That's awesome. It's
good that these questions provide you
guys just some some some discussion
material. Yeah, good jumping point. Yeah.
Yeah. If you ever want to meet a Star Wars fan,
you know, just ask them any one of these 20
questions and, you know, you got yourself a

(35:56):
great answer.
Now, now the best part about these
questions is that they are opinionated
questions. You know, like a lot of
people were worried. They're like, oh, no, I don't want
to answer a question. I'm like, look, man, I'm not going to go
like, OK, what happened back on
Hoth back in 42 YYB? You know, like I'm
not going to do that. I'm going to
just. Yeah.
So as soon as I said that, they were

(36:18):
a lot of them were like, oh, OK, I'm on
board. So it's definitely a great
way to break the ice. Yeah, for sure.
So in relation to the answer to this question, I
really love that idea. And it was actually
something that we talked
about not even that long ago. This was
on an episode that we did on the podcast from
November 13th,
2023. Just a couple of months ago,
it was called George Lucas's original

(36:40):
sequel plans, The Star Wars Archives
Part One. And we have yet
to follow up with a Star Wars Archives
Part Two on on that episode.
But the first part we actually
kicked off, we used the Star Wars
Archives book with Paul Duncan
as the author of that. And it's in
this massive like XL
sized horizontal
Star Wars book, which is published

(37:02):
by Tastian, a really nice book.
And yeah, it's an interview
with George Lucas. And he actually talks
very, very mildly about
what he would have done with his versions
of the sequels and, you know,
what kind of ideas were floating around
in his head. And it was a very interesting
episode. And this was around the same time
that we did the Colin Trevorrow episode
nine script, Duel of Fates, and

(37:24):
the Alan Dean Foster episode nine
pitch, the read through the famous
Alan Dean Foster.
Yeah, the read through of that script. That was super
fun. We actually had a comment on that
just like just admiring the
the radio kind
of the radio show aspect.
We're all doing voices
and accents. Yeah, it was fun.
It was a good time. Yeah.

(37:46):
It was a kooky story. We'll have to do a remaster
at some point. Yeah, we really
should. So yeah,
I love that. I love that answer. I would 100 percent.
You know, I would put a slight spin on it
if I were to answer that question, which
would be basically like I just
want George's episode seven, eight, nine.
Like, I mean, even if there even if he changes
the idea, even if you change the idea
and like maybe Maul and Talon

(38:08):
aren't in it anymore, but he has his own plans
for what he would have done like
because, you know, George kind of changes his mind
every now and again. I would still love
to see his versions of those movies, you know, even
if it didn't involve Maul and Talon,
I would just want him back doing his
stories, right?
100 percent. I'm with you on that.
I would love to see, you know,
the sequels, but with his

(38:30):
idea, with his everything.
Because I can tell you right now, look,
when I was in the theater and Hawn
and Chewie came walking out the door for the first
time, you know, in what? 20,
30 years, right? The crowd
went stupid. They had
such a chance to and such a
chance in the first movie to get all
four of them back in that cockpit together.
And if they had, you know, Luke

(38:52):
and Leia and Chewie
and Hawn all in that thing,
people would have bawled in
the, you know, they would have cried in the movie theater.
What did we get? We got a giant
rolling ball of snot with some
arm and tentacles eating people
instead. The Rath Tars?
Rath Tars, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. The big
balls of snot is what my kids call them. I'm like,

(39:14):
yeah. And the booger balls.
What about you, Blake?
What would your answer be? Oh, man.
One question for George Lucas. One question
for George Lucas. Yeah, I
just, I guess I just
ask if he has any interest in partaking
in the Star Wars going forward in
any sort of role, even if. Yeah. What his
stories would have been. Yeah, just write some pitches
or something, you know. I think that's the burning

(39:36):
question so many of us had is like, what
would you do, right? Just some level
of involvement. Yeah, it was funny.
I was actually contemplating what I
would ask him. This is like legit, like
contemplating what I would ask him
if I was in just like a simple
conversation with George and I actually thought I should probably
avoid Star Wars altogether.
So I was going to ask him how
his museum is going.

(39:58):
Because I haven't heard anything
about that. I think it's in California
is where they settled on. I was supposed to be in Chicago
for a long time. Yeah, I don't know where
what I would. I'd really throw him out there. I'd
really throw him out there. So what did you think of the Goonies?
You'd be like,
what? In real life, though,
like, I'd probably stand in front of him, like
be like.

(40:24):
Let's be
real. That would be all of us.
Let's be real, OK? It would take you 20
minutes to compose yourself
just to say hi. Just shocking off.
Alright, let's take a look.
Oh, sorry.
Question two.
Let's move to question two. Let's take a listen
to this.

(41:06):
Next weekend. Yeah, because
it's just as a Bridger, like
at least in these movies,
he seems a lot more like he
can adapt really well. Well, look at
the force is his ally.
All he needs is the force.
He's friends with the Lothcats
and I'm a big animal person
and it's really nice. Alright,
well, Evan, I can't wait to show you this video.

(41:28):
Alright, thanks
Haley for that question, that
answer. That was awesome.
He is such a great character
and, you know, we're really lucky to
have a guy like Evan playing
Iman playing
Ezra Bridger. Oh, absolutely.
The casting choice is insane. They did such a good job
casting. I'm going to say,
I actually did.

(41:50):
I promised her that I would send that video for him
to see and he actually has saw it.
Nice. And he said he loved
it and I get
this. He is such an amazing person.
I can understand why she would want
someone like Ezra Bridger, but the
person that they picked to do
that character, he really does
smack it out of the water and he's one of the nicest
characters or actors that

(42:12):
I've met. Put it this way, he's
actually going to sign an
Ezra 3 lightsaber for us this weekend
and on Sunday, he's going to come to
our table and he's going to do the draw for it.
So he'll be the one actually picking.
Yeah. And while he's
there, I'm going to make sure to ask
him. I don't want to say anything because I don't want
to be holding the bag, but I'm going to be asking
him the two questions that you

(42:34):
had given to me to ask him.
Nice. And I will do those two questions
for next week's thing.
Awesome. Awesome. What's
the entry for the raffle, by the
way, at the next convention?
The convention's already started.
We just did our first day.
The draw will be on Sunday
at the end of the day and at the end
of the convention day. So we're in Calgary

(42:56):
Expo. That's Fan Expo, right?
Yeah. Gotcha. Okay. Yeah. It's a Calgary
Fan Expo. Is it anyone who buys
a lightsaber gets entered? Is it anyone
who buys a lightsaber gets entered? No, no, no.
No, no, no. So how this one works
is it's the money
that we raise is actually going to go towards
now. I figure we're going to flip a coin.
Alex wants it to go towards the animal
shelter and I would like for it to go towards

(43:18):
the Canadian Cancer Society.
So both good places for it
to go. But that's where the money.
Oh, just a second. Alex wants to say something. What did you say?
Oh, she wants to split it.
50-50. All right.
We can split it too.
If the coin lands exactly
on its edge, you have to split it.
There we go. Okay. So
if the coin lands on its edge, we're splitting it.

(43:40):
All I got was a smile.
Awesome.
Sweet, sweet.
What's the ticket cost?
Oh, sorry. So the tickets are
and we do this. We do a type of
draw at all of them. Okay.
It's five dollars
for one ticket,
three for ten, seven
for twenty, or how many for fifty?

(44:02):
Twenty for fifty. Nice. There you go.
Sweet. All right. So I'm here with Brian
and it's going to be the first question
that I'm asking for the Star Wars Escape
podcast. So Brian,
what is your favorite starship
from Star Wars and why?
It could be a
Starfighter, it could be anything. What's your favorite one?
I know, so many to choose from.
Got to be X-Wing. The X-Wing? Yeah.

(44:24):
That's a good round of choice. First gen,
not that ninety-five or whatever,
the Poe Dameron garbage. There you go. First gen.
No Poe Dameron garbage. There we go.
Awesome. Well, thank you very much.
Cheers. All right.
What's your
favorite ship, Blake? My favorite ship?
Oh, and who's your
master of choice? Because I totally forgot to ask you
that. Oh, that's right. It was Jedi Master

(44:46):
Sith Master. Yeah, Jedi Master. Jedi
Master. Or Sith Master, I guess. It's Windu.
To be honest, he's the coolest one.
I don't think he takes apprentices. Ship?
And my favorite ship, I feel like it's wrong if I don't
say the Falcon, but I feel like
it's too obvious.
The Maldi crow.
That's very unique. That's got to be Kyle's.
Yeah, that's got to be Kyle's favorite.
Kyle, your favorite is the Maldi crow, right?

(45:08):
Yeah, Kyle, your favorite has to be the Maldi crow.
No, no, no. In all honesty, I got to be,
it's the Luke's guys, the Luke X-Wing.
I love that old style
X-Wing. I grew up on that. I played that with my
hand flying around since I was a kid.
You mean Rey's X-Wing from episode 9?
I felt like I was asleep for that.

(45:30):
I'm sorry. I had to do that.
I wish to fill in for audiences,
the Maldi crow is Kyle Katarn's
ship from the EU. Yeah.
Yeah, see, no, no, no.
It may be my name. It may be one of
my favorite Jedi's because of the name,
but no, no, no, no, no. I had the X-Wing
all the way. And who's your master?
I wear an X-Wing necklace. I have one on right now.
Oh, my master.

(45:52):
My master.
Look, man, I always,
no, no, no, I always say
like, I would see,
it would either be Obi or Luke Skywalker.
But if it was, but Obi,
I would want to be more of along
the friends, like to be more of
an equal, not a
master and apprentice. But Luke, even though he's
younger, I would like to learn from him because

(46:14):
he's literally the only one that walked out
of that room alive after the Emperor
and Vader. You know, you know, so like
that right there, you learned
from that guy. That, you know,
yeah. Man, you actually know who would be a really interesting
Jedi master? Dooku while he was in
the Order. Yeah, like
Qui-Gon got that treatment. Yeah, imagine the lessons.
Wait, wait, what was, what was
that? Oh, I forget the Jedi's name in

(46:36):
the Clone Wars. The one that he
ended up being a bad, like he
ended up going dark side. Pong Crow. But it was during
that one battle. Yeah,
that guy, that guy must have been a hard ass
if you were going to learn under Yoda. Oh, man.
Yeah, I would probably
choose Yoda. Yeah, it's like I would
choose Yoda as my master and then
and then my favorite ship would probably
be, it's tough because there's so

(46:58):
many good ones. It's got to be that one from the
Clone Wars, right? It's a tie between
the Jedi Phase 2
Interceptor, like the Ida class.
That one's cool, yeah. Or the Sith
Interceptor that's Maul, Maul drives
that around in Phantom Menace. Oh, man.
Yeah. Just a second. And they're re-releasing
that in Lego, by the way. I also, oh, about time.
Yeah. I also,
I don't know if it's technically canon, but the

(47:20):
the, I guess it's not even Sith, but
the Sith Empire ship that you
get in the original game
of Kotor, the MMO.
Oh, okay. That one's super cool. I bought the Lego
version of that because it was just super cool.
It's basically halfway between a TIE fighter
and Darth Maul's Sith Interceptor.
Actually, you know what another cool ship is?
Sorry. Star Killers. I said, that one's
also really sick, yeah.

(47:42):
But no, I was going to say
other than the Ida class too,
I guess it's sort of,
I don't know if this showed up in the
3D animated shows, but in the 2D micro
series, Anakin had like a modified,
his modified Star
Fighter. It was kind of like these massive
jet engines on the front of
a Delta class Jedi
Starfighter thing. It was awesome.

(48:04):
Lego actually made a set for that as well. I know, and I
regrettably didn't buy it like twice. I think
they released it twice. It was once or twice.
I don't know. Next time it comes out, I'm buying it.
We'll never do it again.
Dreams crushed. You're going to have to look up Brick Link.
Oh, man. Okay, here we go. Here's another one.
Here's another one. All right, everybody. I'm here
with Tony. This is Tony here
from the Newfoundland Sci-Fi on the Rock

(48:26):
convention. Nice to meet you, folks.
Hey, everybody. And now I'm going
to ask him a question that, okay,
Josh, we all had a big thing
about it on the last conversation, on the last podcast.
So I'm going to ask Tony
here. Did Mace
Windu die or did he
survive?
I can see where this is going to get a lot
of debate. My personal

(48:48):
opinion, he survived.
Thank you. He's a very
Tony.
He is the master of masters. I can't
see him falling that far
and not survive. And only to
be blasted, what, for a few seconds
by some zap. You know what I mean? Come on.
But now what Samuel L.
Jackson is wanting to do is bring him back so

(49:10):
far in the future. I don't think he survived
that far. Yeah, no, that's fair. Okay.
Okay. So much to discuss
on this one. Much to discuss.
But there you go. Thank you. Well, what if
he was zapped so hard he went into a coma?
And then... No, he yelled out
the window. No, but he went
out. He landed so hard
he went into a coma, but he survived because he's so
strong. When he got pushed, he woke up in the future

(49:32):
because it was a hibernate. He was a
hibernated state. Yeah.
When he got pushed out the window, he had that
little no.
And then he doesn't say anything
after that, right? But
he was conscious. Well, who knows?
Yeah, I guess when he gets pushed, he
sort of was. Yeah, he was conscious.
But it's almost like the air kind of like
left his lungs. You're backpedaling

(49:54):
now.
Yeah, you watch the scene again.
He's like, no.
We should clip that.
That's all. All right. Well,
Tony, you share you share a boat with
many, many people, my friend. So thank
you for your answer. Josh,
we'll win you over at some point. I'll win you over at
some point.

(50:16):
I'd say I told you, Tony, if you're listening,
I told you Josh is going to have something to say
about that.
Respect, respect. Well, we've talked
about this one extensively, so I'm going to we're going
to avoid the long chat on this one.
But thank you for answering that question.
It's I always love hearing that that
answer. All right. Here we go. Here's another one.
All right. So I'm here with Simba.
Simba. And the question

(50:38):
I'm going to ask Simba for the podcast today
is what is your favorite
lightsaber? What is your favorite lightsaber color
and why?
So you could have a
lightsaber that's like you could be like, oh, I really
like Kylo Ren, but I like blue.
So it's what color lightsaber
and what lightsaber? Honestly,
I really like Ahsoka's lightsabers.
Okay. Now you're talking Fulcrum

(51:00):
from the new show or are you talking
Fulcrum. Okay. Because like it's
a whole new take on what a lightsaber could look like.
I know it looks like Shinto, right? We're depending on it. Yeah.
And just like Joko, Count Joko
as well. Yeah. Okay. I thought that was amazing.
And I have to say that orange is
my favorite color. All right. There we go.
So we got an orange with an Ahsoka
or a Dooku. He likes the curved
tilts. The curved tilts. That's right.

(51:22):
Charlemagne. Charlemagne.
All right. Well, there you go. Thank you. All right.
Yeah. Thanks for that, Simba.
Yeah. Sweet. So yeah, that's
a mishmash of things. Like the curved
tilts with the... Yeah. It's kind of a coming together
of the duel, right?
Between Ahsoka and
what's that guy's name in the Ahsoka show?
Oh, Balin. Balin. Yeah. Because he had the orange
saber. Oh, I'm going to have Balin soon. Yeah.

(51:44):
He had the orange. Yeah. Balin. Oh, sorry.
Sorry. I mean, I'm going to have the like the cosplay
of Balin, but yeah, he did have the orange
saber. You could pull off a good
Balin. You got the beard. You could
do the beard and everything for it, you know?
Be a good costume. Oh, heck yeah.
You just got to start growing it out. I'm just waiting on the armor.
Grow it out and then, you know,
another 10 years go by, it'll just
naturally turn gray and, you know, you get to go.

(52:06):
Bam.
See? And Alex
will be my apprentice and I shall be
the master. Oh, man.
Every time I
say that, the look I get from
her is so bad. Just like she would do a look
so fast. Oh,
man. Oh, she does. Like, I'm the master.
She's the apprentice, not on your life side.
I got to say

(52:28):
my blade, my blade
of choice would probably be blue.
Like, I'm a very simple person.
I picture like. Arctic blue.
Yeah, like, yeah, like an Arctic blue
kind of thing. Yeah.
Arctic blue or neonish
green. Like, like, like Ahsoka's
little Shoto saber, like the little one
that she's got. It's almost more of a yellow. It's like a
yellowy neon green. Yeah, yeah.

(52:50):
That's pretty cool. Green color, which, like
I've still to this day not seen anyone
else in the canon wield that color
lightsaber. So I thought that's always
been a really cool one. But, but yeah.
The hilt wise, though,
I mean, yeah, I have no idea. But yeah, that's definitely
the color. I'm surprised you didn't go with
Anakin. You love Anakin's, like, second saber
or his first saber. His first saber is awesome.
He's like, his padawan lightsaber.

(53:12):
I don't know what kind of hilt, but like blade color
though. Like, what color would my lightsaber be? Definitely blue
or neon green.
What about you, Kel? Yeah, I'd go
blue, but I'd be again like the Arctic
blue. I like that light blue, almost
again, any blue. Yeah. But I got
my favorite saber by Joe Jumpin, man.
There's a lot of them. Yeah, episode two Anakin, probably
my favorite, favorite if I were to pick one.
I really like, I like

(53:34):
Obi-Wan's, but I
think like my favorite looking one, I'm starting
to go towards Plo Koon. That's a pretty nice one.
Yeah. Like, yeah,
because I have it here and every time I look at it,
I always go, hmm.
It's like simple, simple, but elegant.
I think, yeah, yeah.
And I like the bottom half where you kind
of get, it kind of looks like raised, except for
it's a little smaller. It's not as bulbous.

(53:56):
And, and it looks more
sharper. It looks, it looks cleaner.
You know, Jedi Master style. It's a bit similar
to Kid Fistos, is it? Is it not? It's kind
of what I remember. Yeah, I think it is.
I think it's the same top.
We have, we have Fistos.
Yeah, it has the same top, but the bottom is different
because, because
the bottom of Clune's.
Yeah, yeah. Fistos is more like a mace bottom.

(54:18):
Clune would be more like a
Rey bottom.
Oh, okay.
Like almost like a staff.
Yeah.
Those little bulbous triangle-y things.
Yeah. Right. I'm just looking on pictures
of these things right now. That's, oh, yeah, yeah.
I see what you mean. Yeah. So like Plo Koon is like
the Darth Maul kind of emitter on the
bottom half. And then. Yeah.

(54:40):
Yeah. Kid Fistos. Yeah. Okay. I'm picturing
the right one. Kid Fistos looks like a ballpoint pen.
Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Cool. There you go. See?
Gotcha. Um, sweet.
Uh, yeah. What about, what, did you mention
Blake, your lightsaber color? Well,
I hate to say it, but I'm also a big fan
of the Arctic Blue, but to change it up, maybe I'll go with
like a teal.
Alright, I'll take it. I'll take it.
Hi there. I'm your host. Alex.

(55:02):
Alex, what's your, oh. Yeah, go ahead.
Alex, what's your favorite lightsaber and
lightsaber color? Oh, I don't know. I like, I still like
the Boon Castus. I still like the Boon Castus.
Okay, so her favorite is still the Boon
Castus. Now what's her favorite color? White?
Yeah. And she goes, she's white. Oh, okay.
Alright. Yeah. I think Simba mentioned
white as well. Yeah. No, it was orange.
Yeah. White, orange. Yeah. Yeah.
Oh, he's referencing the Hilt, was he?

(55:24):
Yeah. Yeah. Okay. That's right. Gotcha. And for the Hilt,
I'd probably go with the Star
Killer from the first game. Nice.
With the exposed kyber crystal. So with the open kyber
crystal. Yeah. Man, I love that style.
You pointed out another one, which I think also
has it, which is the saber
that drops in one of the trailers
for the KOTOR online game. Yeah, that
one's super sweet. That one's probably my
favorite non-canon, also

(55:46):
fictional, very
hardly, barely seen on screen. There's a lot of asterisks on this.
Yeah, yeah. Like, it's so niche
that, like, almost no one has
this lightsaber, but it's one of my favorites.
Please, please, please send me a photo
of it. Oh, I have. I'll
send it again. I think I've sent it twice already.
I need you guys to make this.
Okay. I'm counting
on you. Watch me see it again.

(56:08):
Yeah, it's the one from
the Old Republic Deceived trailer.
There's a Jedi that just gets
completely
He gets stabbed by Melgus, I think.
Yeah, stabbed by Melgus. Yeah, just gutted.
Yeah, he drops his lightsaber
Hilt, and it's, like, smoking as it
hits the ground, and it's such a cool Hilt.
I love it. Yeah, okay. I remember
the trailer thing.

(56:30):
Yeah, yeah, exactly. Okay, here, let's move on
to another question. Hi there.
I'm here with Chris. Chris,
and we're at the, again, at the Sci-Fi
on the Rock in Newfoundland.
And so, Chris, my question for you is
what, if you could be
a character from any era of
Star Wars, which era would you
be from? Old Republic, New
Republic, Fall of the Jedi,

(56:52):
what would be one that you'd probably
like to be a part of?
Possibly
the original trilogy or definitely the prequel
trilogy during that time.
There you go, okay.
So, an original trilogy era
or a prequel trilogy era?
Or anything with the expanded
universe. Yeah, there you go.
Okay, alright, well, let's

(57:14):
discuss this. I love that
answer. Anything with the expanded universe.
Any era at all.
Really, he should just say, anything before
Disney. That kind of
seemed like what he was getting at. I
almost love that as like an answer.
It's just like, which era? Like Dawn of the Jedi,
New Republic,
High Republic, whatever.
Anything like that. Is

(57:36):
pre-Disney an era?
Yeah, you know what? Sure,
let's go for it.
We gotta make a whole new timeline
for that, right? We gotta
do that. It'd be like
the BDY before Disney, before
Disney years and then after Disney
years.
I mean, it kind of is measured like that
as it is, is it not? Cause like at least it's considered

(57:58):
like EU. Well, I guess we do it based
on like George. I thought that started with, yeah,
that's what I thought it was.
Wasn't it based off of
when the Death Star exploded? Yeah,
so like the year, the year
as a fan, we reference
like BBY and
ABY, which is before Battle of Yavin, after
Battle of Yavin. There is an
in Star Wars universe to

(58:20):
like, calendar, which they
describe the years except like most
fans don't know what it is because
it's really like scarcely
ever used in like some of the books
and everything and like none of the movies have it.
So it was
like as fans, like when we reference
ABY, BBY, it's because A New Hope
was the first movie and the first thing that launched
Star Wars. So like the

(58:42):
battle of the first
Death Star is kind of the epicenter,
if you will, sort of like
zero year. Anything
prior to that event is so many years prior
and you know, things after so many
years after. So that's
sort of the... Did they ever try to change that? I thought there was a
canon version. That's what I was just talking about.
There's like an in canon, like in
universe version of that, but like in universe

(59:04):
they don't use BBY and ABY. No, because that wouldn't
make sense. No, it wouldn't make sense, because like people
living in the time of the Clone Wars, they don't know what the
like the Death Star thing hasn't happened yet.
So like... So if I'm not mistaken,
we're currently living in the third age.
Yeah.
Okay. That was a joke.
Whatever that means to Star Wars fans.
That's like a Middle Earth reference.
That's Lord of the Rings. Yeah.

(59:26):
Yeah, you know,
I've always... Because I grew up
with the prequels, I feel like my era of choice,
if I were to plot myself into Star Wars
anywhere, it would probably be Fall of the Jedi, but
I feel like that's just such an
interesting period of time. I mean, like
this is the Clone Wars, this is the
prequel Jedi. It's like when the Jedi
fell, it's like the last days of
the Old Republic, basically,

(59:48):
if you will. Not the Old Republic, but
like the Republic that the Old Republic
that Obi-Wan is referencing to Luke, you
know, in Episode 4. There's just so
much cool stuff that happens.
There's so many like... It's a very interesting time. The Sith are back.
You know, there's so many Jedi. There's
like all these... Are they? They haven't
revealed themselves. Right. Yeah, there's just like
I don't know. There's just so many... That's the
thing. It's like it's such a colorful

(01:00:10):
era with so many different
stories in there, and I just love
it a lot. I feel like a lot of my childhood
was reading books that took place in that time
period, so I'm going to pick that.
I think I'm going to say the same thing,
but go slightly earlier, because then you're
probably saying more generic. So like pre Attack
of the Clones, then? I'd say pre
Phantom Menace. Oh, okay.
And I guess this is

(01:00:32):
under the context of like, I guess, if
in this case, be like probably more of a Jedi,
because I don't know if it would matter as much if you were just a bystander,
but just to be a part
of the order and be a full night,
and with a decent amount of time before
the Battle Geonosis, and then see
that transition, I think that would be very interesting.
Yeah. What about you, Kal? For me,
okay, I honestly...
No, I've thought about this

(01:00:54):
a lot, because I've thought about the Old
Republic, just because I like
a lot of the lore
from that time, but
I would have to say it again, with
wanting to have Luke as my
master, I think that I would
definitely go with like
the New Order instead.
Oh, the New Republic. Yeah, yeah,
because I know

(01:01:16):
that it's weird to say, because it's in
all this Disney world and everything
through the hand, but
having Luke beside me, helping
guide me through it, dude,
that to me would be
it's uncharted
territories for both the Jedi
and the Sith, the Light and the Dark,
everything's got to get figured out again.
Yeah, well, there's some cool

(01:01:38):
There's some cool events in the New Republic, like
it's still the Empire,
it's just like the Imperial Remnants,
right? Yeah, it's all shattered.
It would be a very interesting time to live
then as well. Yeah, for sure, and especially if you had
Luke as your master.
I will say, that's one thing that
I wish they had, and maybe they will, show
more of Luke with his
Academy, because that was a big thing in the

(01:02:00):
EU, but really all we
have is the comic
with Ben. Right, that's all we've got, actually.
Yeah, and tidbits of
information as to what happened with Luke,
and at some point it might be worth doing a podcast
episode on that exactly, like
what happened with all of the stuff with Luke
Skywalker in those years between
Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens,
and just kind of what went down, and I feel like

(01:02:22):
we've talked about it sparingly here and there, but
we've never done a dedicated Luke Skywalker
What Happened episode, so at
some point we'll definitely do that. It's true.
I definitely want to get
in on that one. Yeah, man.
My favorite cosplay is actually
cosplaying, you know, Luke
between those years, and
I even say that that is what my cosplay is,
because people are like, who are you? And I'm like, I'm Luke

(01:02:44):
between this and this time. Yeah, yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. So I would
love to get in on that con though. Yeah,
for sure. Um, alright,
let's take a listen to the next one here.
Alright, I am here with
Adam Meeker. Adam, and Adam,
who shot first?
Well, Han Solo.
Really? Really? Okay.
We got a Han here, and

(01:03:06):
guys, you already know my take on it.
Greedo shot first, man.
You can actually see it, if you take it and frame rate it.
So, alright, but okay.
Let's discuss. Alright, thanks Adam
for that answer. Um, I, um,
Hot topic question.
Yeah, and it's so, it's
funny, because there's no right answer to this,
right, because it's always like
What version are you watching? It's always what version are you

(01:03:28):
watching, right, and it's like if you own
you know, a laser disc or VHS
of, of, of A New Hope,
then your answer is... A pre-1997
VHS. Yeah, your
answer is going to be correct, because that's
indeed who shot first, and you know, and then
and then Han started to shoot first, then
now it's sort of like a draw. Yeah.
As funny as I watched A New Hope
last night, just coincidentally,

(01:03:50):
and that scene always sticks
out to me, because of that weird head
jive. Yeah. It always looks very awkward.
Uh, and I always think
even though it's such a small thing,
it did change the
viewer's, like, perception of who
Han Solo is. Like, in terms of
in terms of, like, him not just
gunning down someone cold blood. Yeah, exactly,
because that, I feel like that makes a better

(01:04:12):
story arc for Han Solo, personally,
because he went from someone who he didn't care,
you know. Yeah. Like, he's basically
he's been in the underworld long enough
that he doesn't really have
any qualms with killing someone if they get in this way,
or try to turn him in, or
whatever. Yeah. Instead, it's just
awkward. Like, he survived through pure
chance.
I've always been

(01:04:34):
a little confused as to why that change was made.
To be honest, like, I've never had
a problem with Han shooting first,
even though he is a hero character.
We've seen him do it before
in Indiana Jones. You know,
some dudes waving around a sword, and he's just like
guns him down. Yeah, but that's also because of the flu,
or was it food poisoning, or
something. So, I mean, that's a bit lazy

(01:04:56):
as an actor going, come on.
Right. But I feel like that's just it, right?
Like, it was the actor going, like, okay,
let's just get this over with. But at the same time,
that made its way into the character,
and became part of that character's
story. And I feel like that sort of
playing an element here in Star Wars also
kind of resonated with me always with that
being very Harrison
Ford, Indiana Jones-like, right?

(01:05:18):
And so, I've never had a problem
with Greedo just being gunned down, like
flat out, you know, like, let's just murder the guy.
But at the same time... Sorry about the mess.
Yeah, sorry about the mess, you know.
Flicks the credit towards the barkeeper.
But at the same time, you know, it's George's
movie. He kind of had an
idea for why he wanted to do this. And I think
that might be on my list of questions to ask
him, you know, like, other than what would you do

(01:05:40):
with episode seven to nine? Why? Why
did you want Greedo to take
a shot? Well, I think he's
maybe I'm speaking out of turn here, but
I thought he had actually spoke about that.
If he did, I've never heard of it. I thought it was
that Han Solo was supposed to be hero character
that people looked up to. So he didn't
want him to murder someone called Blake. I think that's
like an Internet fan. It might be.
Yeah, I don't think that's ever come out of his mouth, but

(01:06:02):
I would like to ask him that question. Yeah, it is a
good question. Yeah.
Thank you. Thanks, Adam, for that
thing. I know you're super
in the Han shot first
category there, Kyle. And
yeah, Blake, you're Han
shot. Wait, wait.
No, I'm a Greedo shot first guy.
You're a Greedo shot first guy.
Greedo shot first? Yeah. Oh, I didn't know that.

(01:06:24):
I'm a Greedo shot first. Yeah, because I
actually took it and I slowed it down frame by frame
when I was watching it. And I was
like, oh, shit, that came first.
So, but I've also...
You're easy to win over.
Proof is in the pudding, man. My eyes tell me what I see.
That's right, you know?
But when I watched it, when I did
it, it was that later years. So

(01:06:46):
obviously, you know, it's
just what I saw first and everything
like that. Or it's not what I saw first.
It's the one that I challenged first.
Because I saw it way back in the day and stuff
like that when obviously it was still Han shot
first. But when I finally
was old enough to go, oh, who the hell did I actually
shoot? I had just a shitty version that
showed Greedo do it.
Fair enough. There's a logic to that, too.

(01:07:10):
All right, we'll do two more questions here and then
we'll save the rest for May 4th.
But let's take a listen to the next one.
What do we got here? Oh, is this one a bit bigger?
It's not playing back. Nope.
Yeah, that one's not playing back. Okay, we'll
come back to that one. So, hi,
I'm here with Adrian.
Adrian. Victor. Victor. And
Damian. And Damian. Now,
if you guys had to pick a Star Wars

(01:07:32):
planet to be stuck on
for the rest of your life,
which planet are you picking and why?
Not Felucia. No.
Oh,
probably Naboo.
I was thinking Naboo.
Yeah, mostly for the architecture and the climate.
There you go. All right.
So France, or what is it? No, Italy.
There we go. All right.

(01:07:54):
So they say Naboo. All right.
That's a good topic and let's see what we can
discuss on that. All right. I agree.
Naboo's always been
my choice, too. What about
Felucia? No, I love how
he says not Felucia. Like, it was
like literally the first thing on his mind
that he's like, hell no.
Those dang mushrooms in the fog. Not that place
where the accolades come from. Like, no, no,

(01:08:16):
screw that place.
I don't want to live in a jungle.
I honestly
thought it was funny when
they all agreed on Naboo. And then
after, sorry, I should have kept this in
too, but I was like, man, I got to be honest,
mine's Alderaan. And they all
looked at me and they're like, wow, what are you going to live to?
13? You're going to blow up. And I was like, wow.
I guess you're right, man.

(01:08:38):
Alderaan. Okay, Naboo then, too.
Yeah, yeah. I mean, that's a pretty solid
choice, honestly. Naboo.
Got the rolling hills. Yeah.
I feel like the one place
that they would be like the last on
somebody's list would be
like Mustafar, right? But it's like, no.
But the answer's like, no, no. Heck no.
Not Felucia. Not the jungle.
Get me out of there.

(01:09:00):
I love that.
Another thing about Newfoundland
is I asked that question to quite a few people and I'm sure
we're going to get some more on the next podcast.
But my god, a lot of
the newfies were like, Hoth.
And I'm like, are you
serious? And they're like, well, it's
already cold here. It's basically the
same.
I went through it, man.

(01:09:22):
They want to move even further north.
Yeah. Norway. You got to hit
Norway.
Awesome. Yeah.
All right. Well, we can move on to our last
question here and then
we'll wrap things up. Sounds good.
All right. So I'm here with
Aiden. Now, Aiden,
what is your favorite Star Wars

(01:09:44):
Lego set or
action figure?
I know.
I know.
Even if you don't own it
or anything, right? I'll go one
for both. Lego set
is one that I got
on my 10th birthday.
I had the
full size Lego X-Wing

(01:10:06):
fighter, Luke's X-Wing. That was
really cool.
And for action figure,
I'd probably go with, I had
a black series
Boba Fett. And that was really nice
to have. All right. Well, thank you, man.
Thank you. All right. Thanks, Aiden. Yeah.
Kyle, what's your favorite Lego or
action figure? Oh, well, mine was
the Millennium Falcon. To me,

(01:10:28):
that's iconic. But I believe I said
to him afterwards, I was like, I'd like to build the X-Wing
one. But I want the
1980s Millennium Falcon.
I think it had the original three
feet or seven feet or something for it.
I forget what it was, but that's what I want.
The old action figure Falcon? Like that one?
Yeah, yeah. Like straight
up, almost first-gen.
First-gen Lego Falcon.

(01:10:50):
And the reason is, I know it's not
as intricate and all that and everything, but
that's the
first. I think that came out 99.
It's the first set. Was that the first one?
The first sets were 98. I'm not sure if
the Falcon, Luke's X-Wing came out
98. I'm not sure if the Falcon made
it out. I know, I know that a Falcon
came out like
a long time ago. It was, it was.

(01:11:12):
Let me find it. Let me find it. I'll
see if I can find one. Yeah, there was one a long
time ago. Am I that old? It's
at least
99. Yeah.
For sure. Yeah.
I'm getting so old
that, look, I'm getting so
old that my kids said that I
was born in the late 1900s.
What?

(01:11:34):
They look really good
for your age. The oldest Lego
set is 25
years old because this
year, along with
the 25th anniversary of the Phantom Menace,
Lego is also celebrating 25
year anniversary for Star Wars Lego.
So this summer they're releasing
a couple sets with the 25
year anniversary badge. And there's

(01:11:56):
some special figures in some of these
sets. And I think we talked about at one
point, one week on the podcast, like one of these
sets has like a super awesome Saw
Guerrera from Rogue One. Cool.
One of them has fives
from Clone Wars. I think Arc
Trooper fives. Oh, wow. Yeah. Another one
of them is, like they're all like
really unique, like cool figures
that, like. Yeah, you have to buy all of them, aren't I?

(01:12:18):
Yeah. We missed out on the 20th anniversary
ones. Yeah. Well, I got one of them. I got
the Podracer and I got
ironically enough, I got a figure that I already
had, which was like the Pilot Luke from
Yeah, that's the one. I have two. Yes. But it's
the one ship I wanted. So I was like, man, I'm
like ending up with the same, like I got my third
Pilot Luke now. But I think they had a really high
quality Lando I wanted for the 20th anniversary.
Yeah, they did make a Lando for, yeah,

(01:12:40):
there was like a Lando, a Leia, a Luke
and maybe a Vader
or something like that. But yeah, anyways,
it was just like four sets. But now
they're doing like, I think it's six, six figures
for this. Oh, I'll pull up
the list. But in the meantime, Blake,
what's your, what's your favorite Lego slash
action figure? I should probably say one of each.
So action figure I'll do first. It's probably
the, I got to go with the George Lucas Stormtrooper.

(01:13:02):
Oh, dang. Yeah. Yeah.
That's my favorite six inch too. Yeah.
The Black Series. That's pretty cool. I love
that they did that. I wish I got the Dave Filoni
one as well. Was it, did they, yeah,
I think they, did they do Dave? No. Or was it just John
Fann? No, they did a Dave Filoni
Black Series helmet. But, but not,
not an action figure. I think they did a Favro
then. It was one of them. Yeah. Maybe it was
a Favro. Like the, like a

(01:13:24):
Paz Vizsla. I think so. With that unmasked
or something. Yeah, I think you might be right. I think that's
what it was. Maybe something like that. Yeah.
Man, my favorite Lego set. I'm
gonna go with the classic AT-AT.
Came out around 2000. Okay.
Oh, okay. That's pretty sick. Yeah.
Actually, I think it was a little later than it was.
I'm gonna go with my Republic Gunship
from Star Wars The Clone Wars.
I absolutely love the size

(01:13:46):
of that ship. And there's so much cool stuff.
There's a deployable speeder that comes out of the back.
There's like these two cockpits.
There's people that can hide in the wing
ship guns. Which version though?
This version. The first one had the bubble turrets.
The first one had the bubble turrets. I have like
Gen 2. I have Gen 2.
Yeah, that's Clone Wars style. So not the
Geonosian one with like the exterior
bubble guns next to the doors.

(01:14:08):
I've got the one after that which ditched those.
I actually kind of prefer without
the bubble guns just because like those
were like
instead of the bubble guns, I got a deployable
back to tank. Right. Yeah.
So it was just like kind of like cool stuff
that you could like, you know, just like all packed in there.
Right. It's just nostalgia just hit me now
when Clone Wars started. It also came
with Plo Koon and Ventress as many

(01:14:30):
figures. That's pretty sweet. And maybe
yeah, yeah. I think it was yeah, those two.
Yeah. Do you want to attack the clones came out?
The whole lineup of Lego sets was
awesome. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Attack the clones
Lego is definitely like the coolest. I think
I guess probably the best lineup they ever did.
Yeah, yeah, for sure. Definitely. It's still the only
one that you can get Django slave one. You're right. Yeah.
Yeah. And I didn't know this until recently, but
slave one was the first ship that they

(01:14:52):
actually made curved pieces for
which part of the ship for Lego.
Which what were the pieces? Well, like
take a look at it like it's like this.
Oh, you're talking around the wings for the
Django version. Yeah, for the Django for
the Django slave one. It was the first
Lego set ever to have curved pieces.
OK, so I was thinking of the original slave one
that released the Boba Fett. It was all
like chunky when they had the. Yeah, it was all

(01:15:14):
bricks. Yeah, the double windscreen.
Yeah, yeah. And everything. Exactly. It was all
bricks. That's what I'm saying. Like the Django one was the first
one that had curved pieces. And nowadays
though, you could buy any Lego set and
like there's curved pieces everywhere. But
back then it was like there was
none. It was the first set to actually do it. So
pretty sick. Think about that. Yeah. Dude, I
bought that set. I got it for my birthday or whatever.
It was missing pieces. I was so upset.

(01:15:36):
Oh, I was like nine.
So I cried pretty hard.
It's missing pieces out of the box.
Yeah, it's missing pieces out of the box.
Oh, man. If you call Lego,
they just ship you them for free. Yeah, it was nine.
Like 2000. That's traumatic.
He was nine. I think
my my dad had to call Lego
as well because mine I think was missing

(01:15:58):
the Django like minifigure
what or something.
I don't I remember. I know the same
set. You're missing pieces, too. I was just
missing like a little one by one squares that
didn't have the maybe it was the jet
pack or something. I think maybe the jet
pack helmet piece. It was like one piece.
It was some big component to
one. Yeah, it was like
weird. But yeah, maybe it was like

(01:16:20):
the whole lineup. I think maybe maybe a lot
of them had that problem.
I mean, that's why they never released
it again. Too many problems.
What's your oh, yeah.
Sorry. I was like, no,
I was like, Alex won't let me get Lego.
I'm not allowed to get
them. I can look at them from afar,
but I'm not allowed to play with them. She doesn't want to
step on them in the middle of the night. So the

(01:16:42):
three. So the three revealed
minifigures for this summer's
25th anniversary are Darth Malak,
ARC Trooper Fives, and Saw Gerira.
Darth Malak? Yes.
From the original KOTOR? Yes.
So this is a companion piece
to the Darth Revan that
you could get in a Polly bag a number of years
ago, which now is skyrocketed
in value. Yeah, I have no idea.

(01:17:04):
I've heard of that one.
I've actually heard of that here at the convention
as somebody who's talking about the Darth
Revan that was worth a lot of money.
It's worth like a couple hundred bucks, I think now.
At least a hundred. It's comparable to
low. It's at least a hundred. It could be
like up to three at this point. But yeah,
for a Revan minifigure. Yeah, I know someone
who's actually been on the podcast, my friend Curtis,
but he has that figure

(01:17:26):
in the Polly bag still. He built
it in the Polly bag because you don't want to take it out
of the Polly bag. He built it in the Polly bag.
He does that with all the Polly
bags. He builds the figure. How funny.
In the Polly bag.
One day I wanted to open the bag and they're just
all wrong.
The heads on backwards
and like the wrong pieces
and like this is my Darth Revan and he opens it up.

(01:17:48):
It's like a rabbit.
Yeah, but you can see through the Polly bag.
It's just like a teeny little bag.
The back is like semi-transparent.
The mystery bags.
No, no, no, no, no, no, not those.
No, a Polly bag is like it's
got the picture of the figure on the front and it's
just the figure inside there. When did they release
the Revan then? That was oh man
that was Darth Revan.

(01:18:10):
Because Polly bags are always some special event
thing. Yeah, so the yeah
this came out
in 2014. So this was exactly
10 years ago. And
let's see what's the story with this
item appears in one set.
The Darth Revan, the Darth Revan
Knights of the Year Old Republic Polly bag.
Here's the figure.
Man, I wish I got that. That's so cool. It's really cool.

(01:18:32):
Are you looking at a picture of this Kyle?
No, but I have looked at a picture of it.
The Darth Revan Lego.
I think Francis probably showed it to me.
That makes sense.
It's too bad that
Francis couldn't make it
on tonight. But apparently somebody said
they got it for free at their local
Lego store when they went to
I think they bought a they bought something

(01:18:54):
and they got it for free with their Lego set.
Oh, they're doing like there's like a promotion
promotion bonus man.
So this was the Polly bag. They probably paid for like
four sets. Yeah. Oh
at this point dude. Yeah, at this point it's
it's crazy. Yeah. So this might be
the one like like a minifigure
have to buy online or something. Maybe they'll have it
at Toy Traders. I don't know. They did have
one at Toy Traders and I think it was really

(01:19:16):
expensive. Probably. Yeah.
Yeah, but yeah. Anyways,
we we got to wrap things up for today.
But thank you so much to
everyone who asked
who were asked those questions and
got a chance to answer it on Star Wars Escape
on. It's been the first time we've actually played stuff from
fans on the podcast.
So we
got we got Kyle to thank for that.

(01:19:38):
So thank you Kyle for for getting getting
random random Star Wars fans on
the show. It's been it's been really cool.
You are very welcome. You are very welcome.
And I'll try my damnedest to
to see if I can get a couple of the stars to answer
to answer some questions too.
Yeah, that would be great. It's and if anything
it's actually while
while we were doing this podcast, Emin
actually wrote me back and

(01:20:00):
because because I was just confirming
like, hey, we're going to do this. We're going to do that.
And he's like, yep, Sunday
sounds perfect. So we're all good to
go. So Sunday, this Sunday
at the Calgary Expo, Emin
is going to be down doing the
draw and you could come meet him and
get his saber from him.
Fantastic. Yeah.
Definitely buy some tickets. Awesome.

(01:20:22):
Definitely. I will be
I'll be releasing this episode, by the way, just
early. We're going to be releasing
this on Friday this week instead of
the typical Mondays.
Just so that we can get that information out a little
early. Yeah. But
yeah, thanks for for running all those
questions for us. And yeah, good luck
with the Calgary Convention. Hello
to everyone in Calgary who's listening, by the way.

(01:20:44):
We'll get some of your questions on in the following weeks
as well. And to any of the questions that
we got from Newfoundland that we didn't play today,
stay tuned on the show. You will
hear them in an upcoming week.
It's been nice to have these, you know.
Yeah, it's fun. Yeah. Bad Batch runs dry after like
20, 30 minutes. So, you know, this has been
good. It's been fun. Maybe not next week.
Awesome. Yeah. Maybe not. Well, we'll do a few
next week. Next week's interview packed. But

(01:21:06):
yeah, we'll get a few out. We'll get a few out
from Newfoundland. Let's do it. Awesome.
All right. Thanks so much for joining Gankyle.
We'll see you in the next one.
Very welcome. Thank you for having me.
And thank you, Blake, for co-hosting as usual.
We will catch you in the next one.
We'll see you out there.
Keep flying.
All right. Big
thank you to all of our

(01:21:28):
Star Wars escape pod fans out there.
A big hello to
everyone in Calgary, everyone in Newfoundland.
Thank you again for answering those questions and
saying hello to us on Star Wars Escape Pod.
So,
yeah, a big favor to us is
