Speaker 1 (00:00):
Coming up this week death, loss and conflict.
It's another fun familyadventure on the Clone Wars,
season 3, episode 17 through 19.
This week on your Star Warssafe space.
It's so depressing, but stickaround, it'll be fun, of course,
right, yay, yay.

(00:21):
We're all so sad.

(00:47):
Oh man, these were depressingepisodes they were hard, they
were rough, they were goodthough they were good, they were
excellent, but this was a roughwatch, wow, all right.
So, uh, howdy star warriors, welcome to star wars.
Safe space, your non-toxic, lowsodium Star Wars show.
That doesn't make you feel badfor knowing that in Star Wars, a

(01:08):
new hope, the evil and grumpyGrand Moff Tarkin wore slippers
on the Death Star so his feetcould be more comfy, because the
boots that that the actor PeterCushing wore were far too tight
and uncomfortable for his size12 dogs, that's right Damn.
So he wore slip little slippers, which little slips I'd like to

(01:29):
think that they were fuzzy bunnyslippers that would be.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
That'd be hilarious, right?
I envision, like the um, likethe mickey mouse feet, you know
yeah big yellow.
Yeah, she'd have this dark gray, german gray colored suit in
this dreary death star bridgeand and tarkin is just ass
yellow and tarkis is just sour, tarkin is sour and then these

(01:54):
bright yellow mickey mouse feetlove it.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
So, uh, yeah.
So, whether you're a hardcorefan or just a little swarzy,
curious, this is your star warssafe space.
We are the circle of nerds andwe do absolutely love star wars,
even if we don't always like it.
So shall we meet the crew thisfine, fine day?
To my left, your right star ofstage and screen, it is the
sensational sherry.

(02:18):
I learned where the buttons arefinally.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
Yay.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
After six episodes.
After all this and hailing fromparts unknown, it is T to the
Ooni Welcome back to the galaxyeverybody.
And we're hanging out here inthe Outer Rim, territory of
Vostoween, with the fabulousDaddy Louie Hello children.

(02:44):
Territory of bostween with thefabulous daddy louis hello
children yay and I am tommy d.
You're a more than slightlyobnoxious star.
Wars know it all, and we arehere to watch all of the canon
tv shows and films in mostlychronological order.

(03:06):
These last several episodeshave actually been in
chronological order, yes, sothank you.
Thanks, dave.
Dave got our letters that wewere sending him to Don't say
that too soon.
I know, I know, I know, I knowwe still got a lot of Star Wars
to go.
We got a lot of Clone Wars leftahead of us.
So that is our goal to watchall of this breaking them down,
connecting the dots and maybelearning a little bit more about

(03:28):
Star Wars and ourselves.
And Louie has already been ableto connect some dots because
you've seen some other shows.
You watched Ahsoka and so nowyou're seeing some things.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Yeah, like things are coming to light especially with
Mortis, all of that.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Yeah, so we'll, we'll segue into that now.
Uh, so yeah, we're gonna be.
So word of whirling, whirling, word of whirling.
There will be spoilers, soplease be aware of that.
So if you haven't watched theseepisodes, maybe go watch them
now and then come back and thenwatch this or not, or just hang
out, or hang out.
So, but before we do all ofthat, it's time for the news

(04:10):
skirt yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, um.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
So by the time this episode comes out, um, you'll
have already seen this, um, butfun fact, I guess going forward,
uh, so skeleton crew, yeah, which again has already come out
, yes, um, but what people mightnot know.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
And we're loving it, by the way.
Yes, we've it's so really, it'sso good.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
We absolutely love it um, so they're bringing in
right here, this, that's ourcamera right.
They're bringing this creatureinto canon.
So this creature is a Legendscreature coming into canon,
first appearing in the Ewoksmovie.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
And what's the name of this creature, the name of
this creature is a teak T-E-K.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
A teak.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
A teat A teak Teak, not a.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
Tit A teak, not a teat a teak, teak, teak, not a
tit hey, okay, hey not a teat?

Speaker 3 (05:09):
okay, no a teak, not a teat, got it.
Um, so this creature firstappeared in uh ewoks battle for
endor and uh, now it has beenre-canonized in the skeleton
crew nice and uh, it wasactually inadvertently, or maybe
advertently, uh teased at uhthis year's d3 d23, which is the

(05:31):
big the big disney conventionand there was a stuffed one of
these for sale.
Oh, people were like oh youknow?
um, and another fun fact he isonly there, or the this creature
is only a hand puppet, sonothing beyond, and it will be a
puppet in the in the show or isin the show.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Yes, so good we've already experienced a teat, and
it's been.
They've been so cool Right.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
And super cute.
And super cute.
You probably don't know.
Yeah, it's a.
It is a once canon, nowre-canonized creature.
That is a simple hand puppet.
Cool, I love it.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
I love it.
I love when they do stuff likethat.
I like when they take stufffrom older sources and Bring it
back, canonized them.
Yes, it's awesome.
Um, so let's get through this,uh, emotionally painful block of
episodes.
So we're wrapping up with theghost of mortis.
Um, and it was, uh, it was aheart wrencher.

(06:42):
This one was a heart wrencher.
This one was a heart wrencher.
Oh, quickly, though.
So the Sith Lords Darth Revanand Darth Bane were supposed to
be in this episode as counseland guides to the sun.
Um, but they ended up gettingcut.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
I wonder why.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Um, say they were cut in late production, so that
didn't.
It didn't really say exactlywhy.
I'm sure maybe had something todo with character models or
time or budget or just the storyitself, okay, um, so I don't
think we talked about we'vetalked about darth bane.
I don't know if you're familiarwith darth revan.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
This is like, but it's way past, like we're not
past the the Darth Bane thing, because Mark Hamill voiced him.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
Right, so we will be seeing Darth Bane again.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
So not.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Not yet, not until season six Bit of a spoiler, so
yeah, so this was the finalepisode of this particular arc.
The Ghost of Mortis and Anniewent through some shit in this
story art.
So so, tony sherry, pleaseshare some of your thoughts on

(07:54):
this, because we we saw anakingo through some things.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
tony, kick us off so I mean first off, I mean in this
episode.
I did find a uniquecontradiction In the previous
episode of the same arc.
Anakin's all about I need to goafter the son.
You know, screw the father,we'll deal with that.
And Obi-Wan's like no, you know,we should go talk to the father

(08:18):
, we need help.
And in this episode it's theexact opposite.
In this episode, anakin's like,no, I need to go see the father
right now.
And oh, I was like screw that, let's just get the hell out of
here.
Um.
But then I mean, oh, there'sjust so much.
Um, I mean, the thing for me is, you know, we, we get to see

(08:40):
this vision of Anakin's future, and obviously we all know what
that entails.
Sure, but first off, just seeit play out like this and see
how seeing that affects him ishuge.
But then, later, you're talkingto the father and father's like
you know, this isn't set instone, but it's the is it like

(09:05):
you're giving him?
this, this, granted, he doesn'tremember it now right, but like
you've given him all this guy tokeep him on quote-unquote the
correct path, but yet that seemslike that path is ultimately
the path that we know he's goingto take, and that's just
because look how quickly hejoined the sun.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
To prevent further violence, which is exactly what
we see him do to try to savePadme, yeah, so he saw himself
choosing wrong through thisvision and the destruction that
choosing wrong would cause.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
And he still chose to choose wrong to to try and fix
the wrong right.
You know, he sided with the sonrather than taking a step,
because, think about it, if hehad taken a step back, he, maybe
he could have combated thatvision a little bit.
And the father?

(10:04):
Maybe the father would havebeen like well, maybe you need
to keep this memory so thatyou're reminded of what you will
do, and it prevents you fromdoing that.
But instead he just immediatelywent over to the dark side like
that was the solution, right, like he didn't even think about
it.
He, that was the solution andhe just did it like that in

(10:26):
order to prevent me frombecoming that guy.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
I have to become that guy, but he doesn't think of it
on that level.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
He's like I mean, he makes such snap decisions, he
didn't give it twice a thoughtand he put himself in the
predicament that he didn't wantto be because he can only think
in absolutes.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
Unfortunately, sherry well, I think this just shows
that the force is fluid and it'sever changing.
It needs to be fluid, for sure.
So, well, no like.
And you know, when you firststarted it's like, oh my god,
he's the balance of all thewhole galaxy because of this
episode.
Uh, you know the previousepisodes, but then, when you get
to this episode, I mean, thefather, straight up, was like

(11:06):
well, no, I mean, you're gonnado it multiple times.
Yeah, holy shit.
So is it like a time thing orwhatever, I don't know.
But so I I found it like, obviously he's gonna turn dorf
vader, we, we all know this thisis not this is not a secret,
but I think this helped mostlyAhsoka.

(11:27):
Yeah, because that's already setin stone for him.
But for her, I'm thinking somethings are going to start
changing in her mind to getwhere she needs to go later on.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
Yeah, as we see, and yeah, that's a really good point
you said that the father saidyou know you're gonna, you know,
balance the force multipletimes.
Right, you know.
So you're balancing the forcetoday and you're gonna have the
opportunity to balance the forceagain.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
You know, as we and he does, you know but, and then
they were gone for only a fewseconds for everybody else.
So was this real or was it aforce vision for all of them?

Speaker 1 (12:11):
so while we were, while we were kind of in between
episodes, you and tony weretalking about an episode of star
trek where there was a planetthat essentially so you know
people wouldn't forget them.
They sent a vision to someoneand basically they lived their
entire life with these people ina matter of minutes.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
In their last years.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
Yeah, the last years on this planet, so that no one
would ever forget.
No, and it was what was it like?

Speaker 2 (12:41):
It was like freaking like 25 years, it was a lifetime
, yeah, it was, or something.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
Yeah, because Picard met this woman, had a
relationship, had two children, yeah they had children.
He grew old and he died, youknow, and In a matter of I don't
know 60 seconds, something likethat.
It was very quick, very quick, and they I remember they ended
up putting a beacon around theplanet to warn other travelers.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
No, no, no, no, no, yeah, they put, no, no, no, no,
no, yeah, they put.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
No, it wasn't a planet, it was a.
It was a.
There was like an obelisk typeof thing.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
It was an obelisk, but no, the obelisk is dead.
That's it.
That was a different story.
I know what you're talkingabout.
Oh okay, no, no, no, no, thisone was the obelisk.
Yeah, this was, and it stoppedfunctioning after Picard got the
story.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
Got the message.
Got the message, okay.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
The flute was in the obelisk that he learned to play
in.
Yeah, so this could have beenkind of, isn't that crazy?

Speaker 1 (13:43):
that he learned to play the flute, as this person
in this vision.
Well, it shows you your brain.
And then he.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
It's like the Matrix.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
It doesn't matter he downloaded.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
He's like matrix, it doesn't matter downloaded like
you know he's like I know kungfu.
Yeah, I know how I can play theflute.
Show me yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
So was this?
Yeah, was this all likephysical manifestation that was
just kind of like taken out oftime and out of space as we know
it?
Or or was it a vision, a veryrealistic vision or simulation
that was given to the three ofthem by the force, like a shared

(14:16):
, almost like a shared delusionbetween the three of them, or
shared illusion between thethree?
Of them Illusion yeah, so wasit physical or was it all just
in their minds?
What do you guys think?

Speaker 2 (14:31):
I think it was in their minds.
What do you guys think I?

Speaker 4 (14:33):
think it was in their minds there.
That's the button.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
No, I personally think it was like a In their
minds, a mind Because they werejust like they were literally
right there Blamble back ontheir ship.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
Yes, and there was no one there that could have put
them back on their ship.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
It was either that or in a different sorry, in a
different dimension.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
It's like a different , a different reality, but the
force works in mysterious ways.
So what do you guys think?

Speaker 3 (14:58):
Physical, mental, maybe a little bit of both.
Okay, like well, I mean, Iguess, if it's physical then,
but it could have been very.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
I mean, like again, if we go back to the matrix, you
know, they say, you know thebody cannot live without the
mind.
So if you die in the matrix youdie in real life.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
So right, yeah I mean , I think that it again.
I've seen future things so Ihave a pretty good idea that it.
Maybe it was real, um, but Icould also see how you could
think that maybe it wasn't.
I mean, it is a little strangethat they just like there was
the white light and then all ofa sudden they were back on their

(15:38):
ship, like they were coming outof a coma or a vision or
something like that.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
It's like they passed out.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
Yeah, and they were right there in front of that
Jedi cruiser, like they nevermoved Right.
And Rex said oh, we lost youfor a moment.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
Yeah, but what happened in that moment?

Speaker 1 (15:51):
You know, for Rex and them, nothing but for our
heroes.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
obviously, it was clearly something, because they
were awake one minute and nowall of a sudden they were waking
up.

Speaker 1 (15:59):
So Right, and they were gone, like in in this
reality.
They were a few days, yeah, youknow, at least, if not longer.
I mean, who knows?
So I don't know, but I do thinkit's interesting because we, we
still really have no clearerunderstanding of the force or
how it works.
After all of this, you know,it's just, it just creates more

(16:23):
questions for me anyway, becauseI, you know, there were
supposedly physicalrepresentations of the light
side and the dark side, butneither one of them were purely
light or purely dark, becauseeven the sun they said the sun
there was still.
He gave in to the dark side, sohe wasn't the dark side.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
Well, he was controlling.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
Maybe he controlled the flow of the dark side or
maybe there were like plugs, maybe they were the stoppers in
the force.
So without him, the dark sidecan flow freely.
Well, again without her, the, the, the light side can flow
freely and upset the balance.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
But, like the father said, you're going to go and do
you're going to balance again.
So he balanced them.
So this was a destined.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
So he fulfilled the prophecy as the chosen one for
this particular moment in time, and he's going to do it again,
and he's going to do it againfor the universe, for the galaxy
, for the galaxy Right.
So, and what is that balance?
Is that him ultimatelydestroying palpatine?
Is that him bringing life?
You know, through the children, you know?

(17:39):
Is, you know, bringing the, theskywalker kids, or is, or or
the?

Speaker 2 (17:44):
balance that was unforeseen, because that wasn't
in his vision no, the twins werenot.
The twins were not in hisvision.
She was for the chokeout yeah, padme was there.
That's what I'm saying right,she wasn't pregnant right there,
so the kids were, she wasn'tpregnant.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
I don't think she was not.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
She didn't show her with a baby bump did

Speaker 1 (18:03):
it no, I don't I don't notice I did okay.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
Okay, because I was like wait a minute.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
No, she wasn't seen with a baby, so, for whatever
reason, the twins are hiddenfrom the force, correct?
So maybe they weren't supposedto exist?

Speaker 2 (18:19):
no, I don't think they were.
It was an unforeseen.
Yeah, like yoda says, it'sclouded yeah, and you?

Speaker 1 (18:27):
can't even it.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
And the father said that as well he did.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
He said your future is clouded.
And the biggest thing thatreally hit me for this episode
was what the father said, andit's what we've been saying this
whole time too.
But he told Anakin with hislast breath beware your heart.

Speaker 4 (18:45):
Oh, my God.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
I mean that's.
I mean that's.
It says it all I mean, becausehe is Anakin.
Skywalker is ruled by his heart.
He's ruled by fear of loss.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
You know, we learn.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
I mean cause, like you said, louis.
I mean he was so quick to tomake that choice to sacrifice
himself and his goodness soquick.
Sacrifice himself and hisgoodness so quick, like he
didn't even think about it,because he's so afraid to lose.
And he does it again and hedoes it again.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
Yeah, he does it again, but he forgot as well, if
he would have maybe rememberlet him remember, yeah maybe he
wouldn't have done that again,right?

Speaker 3 (19:21):
and he not given in so easily.
To show that, like he clearlyshowed the father in that.
To show that, like he clearlyshowed the father in that, in
that act of being not hesitantto join his son, that, yeah, you
don't need these, thesethoughts, like you don't need to
know, that you know and clearedhis mind but maybe he would
have taken a step back.
Yeah, Resisted, showed thefather.

(19:43):
You know, hey, I, I want to notbe that evil person.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Maybe it'd have been like yeah, keep your memories.
It's like he was so incrediblyselfless, like that's the thing.
Anakin is incredibly selfless,he didn't think twice about it
at the same time he is, yeah, because he's he's protecting his
heart, because he's he's soafraid to lose the people that
he loves part of life.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
Loss is a part of life and he doesn't have that
balance in him.
Correct, he doesn't.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
He's never embraced the living force or the concept
of the living force.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
No.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
He's never been able to do that Not until the end.
And had Qui-Gon been around, obviously we wouldn't even be
having this discussion, becauseQui-Gon would have fought.
I did like that to lie.
I mean seeing the two of theminteract, yeah hell for all.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
We know qui-gon set this up maybe in the living
force, because he is part of theliving force.
So we know that.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
So it's true maybe it's something he set up but I
do find it interesting thatqui-gon is able to do this.
And we do learn that fromRevenge of the Sith, you know,
when we, when Yoda tells Obi-Wan, you know there's more.
I have to teach you about theForce.
That I learned from an oldfriend you know.

(20:58):
So that's, and that was anotherthing.
Like we don't see anyone elselike go Force ghosty, that you
know.
Like, like even Qui-Gon.
Qui-gon's body didn't disappearinto the force, but Yoda's does
, obi-wan's does, you know, andthe father's does.
So did Qui-Gon learn thatability in death from the father

(21:22):
?
And then he taught Yoda, andwell, he taught Yoda.
Yoda taught Obi-Wan how toascend into the force Instead of
just dying.
Yeah, because have we seen thatsense?
Have we seen any other Jedibecome one with the force in
that way?
No, in live action.
No, just those two, right?

(21:43):
I think so.
Well, three with the five, yougot the father.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
Well, yeah, okay.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
Yeah.
So A, two, right, I think, sowell, three, with the five, you
count the father, well, yeah, okay, yeah.
So a lot to think about, a lotto think about, and that's what
I, that's what I like about this, because now we're seeing, you
know, we, we know that anakinbecomes darth vader and we know
that there's, you know, that'slike one of the biggest spoiler
alert, oh yeah, spoiler alert,um, but so what we know of that,
you know, and then there's theredemption piece that goes along

(22:12):
with it as well.
But I think it's very veryinteresting.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
He didn't see that either.
No, the redemption wasn't shown.
He didn't see his redemptioneither.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
So what if he would have seen the redemption?
You know?

Speaker 2 (22:23):
would he have?

Speaker 1 (22:23):
made different choices.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
Who knows?

Speaker 1 (22:25):
But, yeah.

Speaker 4 (22:26):
So my thought on that particular thing is the fact
that he didn't see the children, nor did he see the redemption
arc.
So my thought on that is um andthey?
They bring it up in one of themarvel films I think it was dr
strange where you can't see thefuture past your lifetime, like

(22:46):
once you're gone you can't seepast that time frame and while
technically Anakin does live.
they make a point multiple timesthroughout Star Wars saying
Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vaderare two different people, Even
though they're the same body.
They're two different things.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
So the fact that Anakin dies at that point before
he ever meets the children andobviously well before his
redemption, that would makesense that he didn't see that
right, but he did see thedestruction of the death star or
the destruction of alderaan, because he saw the yeah, he saw

(23:25):
the death star shoot the lasers,so he had to have seen some.
I mean, he did see past when hebecame Vader in that vision.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
Yeah, that's a good point, but there's certain
things that he's not seeing, which I feel like is the light
side stuff.

Speaker 3 (23:41):
He's not seeing the good stuff, he's only seeing the
bad stuff in that vision.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
He did just see the bad.
Now that you say it, he didn'tsee his kids, which is a good
thing he didn't see hisredemption.

Speaker 4 (23:48):
Yeah, now that you say that it's possible, that's
manipulation.
Of course the son, but you knowwhat.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
The son may only be able to see that.
And had the daughter lived, maybe she could have shown him
the good Right.
You know, this is kind of likeyou know, kind of like you know
Christmas Carol, you know theghosts, oh yeah.
You know Christmas past, present and future.
So maybe she was able to showhim a future that could be.

(24:15):
You know, the son showed thefuture that we know for him, but
the daughter could have shownhim something completely
different.
Now she can't.
Now she can't because she'sgone.

Speaker 4 (24:25):
She did.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
Unfortunately she did All right, so let's get off
that depressing.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
Yeah, let's go to the next.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
But it is a lot of very interesting things to
ponder.
I think I really like this andI like when they go deep like
this.
We didn't see a lot of clonesduring these Clone Wars episodes
, but we're about to make up forthat.
We're about to make up for that, About to make up for that, as

(24:53):
we head to the Citadel, for theCitadel and Counter-Attack,
episodes 18 and 19.
First of all, we do have to.
We're going to bundle these twotogether, but we have to, of
course, pay our respects, thoughts and prayers.
We lost some good people Forreal and they went out harsh.
Some of them we don't even knowtheir name, so we know charger
and long shot rip to those boys.
And then in counter-attack welost.

(25:15):
We don't know his name.
Is he got?

Speaker 2 (25:18):
he got chopped in here so we're calling him half
track half track.

Speaker 1 (25:23):
Half track okay and then the other, the other
unknown trooper.
They got shot in the head onthe bridge there by that doucher
, that Christopher Walkenwannabe douchebag.
So we're going to call himHeadshot.

Speaker 2 (25:39):
And Echo, I know so sad and they just show his
helmet.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
It was just blasted hot and smoldering.
I mean he echo sorry echo andyou know thoughts and prayers,
because we literally, literally, have known them since they were
shinies.
Yes, we've known them sincethey were recruits.
And this is, this is, in myopinion, why the Clone Wars is

(26:07):
peak Star Wars because we'rewe're getting like we've had all
these blanks, like you know, for people that have followed
Star Wars for years and yearssince the original trilogy.
We've had all these questions,we've all had all these gaps in
our knowledge.
You know of what happened, youknow we, we know we.
You know Obi-Wan talked aboutthe Clone Wars, right, you know.
You know you know Princess Leia, you know you were.

(26:28):
You know you served.
You know Obi-Wan talked aboutthe Clone Wars, right, you know
Princess Leia.
You know you served.
You know General Kenobi, youserved my father during the
Clone Wars.
You know we've heard about the.
You know Luke, so you were inthe Clone Wars.
You know it's like we hearabout this and now we're seeing
this.
You know, we see, you know.
So I really love this TV showbecause of that, because we're

(26:49):
seeing these stories, you know,we're seeing.
We saw Obi Wan, as you know, kind of like the cute old hermit
wizard living, you know, in hislittle little house out in the
desert, minding his own business, but not minding his own
business.
Keeping an eye on Luke, notminding his own business,
keeping an eye on Luke.
You know, and we talked aboutit when we were watching, you
know, you see, world War IIveterans.

(27:10):
You know, they're just thesecute little old men.
You know, some of them arestill kicking ass, jumping out
of airplanes still.
Yeah, 92.
92.
Well, no, the one guy was 98.
98.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
98 years old.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
He was a paratrooper in.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
World War II and for his 98th birthday he had his ass
jumping out of an airplane.
They took him out to jump.
That's cool, that's hardcore.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
I mean he had, you know, he had a tandem it was a
tandem because they wouldn't lethim jump alone, but still but.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
I bet you he could have jumped alone.
He probably.
He was probably pissed as hellI wouldn't have done it.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
He would have but he way to go out he jumped 98.

Speaker 1 (27:45):
Yeah, yeah, I'd be.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
I'd be like oh, I had a hard, I mean.
So this dude jumped jumped intocombat zones.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
This guy did you know , and he's so, and I, I was
thinking about this as we seeobi-wan like rappelling down the
side of this cliff, you know,it's like, how are we going to
get there?
Well, I guess we're going tohave to rappel down.
Yeah, seeing, and he just allright, here we go and you know
no, but there's.

Speaker 2 (28:09):
All of them were just excellent.
Yeah, it was so fun to watchthem.
Just telling and doing it andthen fricking Ahsoka park,
flipping around everywhereeverywhere.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
But it's, it's really cool to see with with Obi Wan,
especially because we only knewhim as an old man, like when we
first encounter Obi-Wan.
He is an old guy.
And then now, seeing him on allof these adventures, you know,
seeing the kind of person thathe was and the kind of person
that he becomes, even after theClone Wars, during that time

(28:41):
span where he's looking overLuke, yep, you know, it's just,
it's really cool and it's reallyI think.
I think it's what makes theClone Wars series more endearing
.
Yeah, you know, because we doget these deep connections to
these characters.
I mean, a couple of clones whocares, they're a couple of
clones.
But when you see that with Echo, that hurts your heart.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
Well, yeah, obviously knew what he was doing when he
gave the clones a face and aname and personalities, because,
going into this, we know who'sgot plot armor.
So, to keep the showinteresting, you know that these

(29:24):
characters, certain characters,no matter what threat you throw
at them, they're going tosurvive, sure.
So they needed to give us newcharacters that they could not
have that plot and we fall inlove with them.
And these characters happen tobe clones, but he does such a
good job.
They do such a good job givingthem all such unique
personalities.
You fall in love with them asindividuals rather than as a

(29:47):
group of people I actuallyforget you feel they're lost
right that they're clones, sometimes until their helmets
are off, right?

Speaker 2 (29:53):
You know, when they rescued them, they're all
sitting there without their, andI was like oh shit, yeah, they
all look alike.

Speaker 3 (29:59):
I mean you know, there's little differences,
right?
But yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
Yeah, and I like how they change their own voices
changes there?

Speaker 1 (30:12):
yeah, there's.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
You know a lot of them do that, yeah, to kind of.
They want to be individuals.
They want to be unique bakerman.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
Yeah, so good.
And yeah, do you.
Bradley, mr baker, that guy, heis literally voiced a cast of
thousands and then we get to seetarkin for the first time.
Right, tarkin and the firsttime that we've seen him.
Yeah, okay, so Tarkin andAnakin together Very strange
Getting a little snooty witheach other.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
Yeah Well, the captain was being kind of shitty
to the general.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
Hello.
But when the general, whenSkywalker fired back Tarkin, he
was like he smiled.
So now, he's like, okay, he'snot just a little snot-nosed
Jedi, okay, he's like, okay,he's not just a little snot nose
jedi, okay, he's got some, uh,some some space balls.
So okay, he had that littlesmirk on his face like all right
, he's like, so will health,will huff.

(31:01):
He, uh, he was like, yeah, Ilike this guy, I can work with
this guy, so it's, it'sinteresting when we do see them
again years later.
You know that, uh, he actually,he actually holds sway over
vader.
Yeah, you know, in that, inthat moment, you know, and it's.
I've never really understoodthat, but again, it's like you

(31:24):
know, now we're backtracking, soit's like you know but in that
moment, you know, you know whenvader's choking out dude, you
know, know Tarkin's like.

Speaker 3 (31:32):
Vader release him.
Does Tarkin know that Vader isAnakin?
I'm almost 100% positive.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
I'm like 99% positive , I would think so.
It's like the galaxy's likeworst kept secret.
You know, I'm sure, and GrandMoff Tarkin was up there, he was
a big dog.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
That's true, he was.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
Palpatineine, I'm sure would have let him know.
Yeah, you know, but I do wonder, I've I've always wondered that
what was the power dynamicthere, what was the chain of
command there?
Because he said, vader, releasehim.
And he was like, as you wish, you know.
But maybe they became but priorto that, like I mean, and after
that, vader is just known forchoking out officers.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
Well, maybe that's the problem.

Speaker 1 (32:14):
So Tarkin was like okay.
Tarkin's gone.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
No one's there to hold him back.
Who else does he choke after?
Nobody Between the time thatCaptain Nita Captain Nita, dies
Admiral Ozzel, admiral Ozzel.

Speaker 4 (32:32):
Admiral Ozzel was the first.

Speaker 1 (32:35):
I think that's all in ESB, right?

Speaker 3 (32:36):
That's all in Right.
So only one person gets chokedout in A New Hope, and that was
in the boardroom.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
Yeah, yeah, but he didn't die.
Though he didn't die, he didn'tkill him Because Tarkin was
there, right?

Speaker 3 (32:49):
Right, but then Tarkin dies at the end of the
New Hope.
Yeah, and Admiral.

Speaker 1 (32:54):
Ozzel delivering one of my favorite lines Ah Lord
Vader, we have just come out ofhypersize.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
And what about R2?

Speaker 1 (33:06):
R2 and his boys.
Commander R2.
Commander R2 and his boys.
And they were running shit Withhis own commander, commander R2
.
Commander R2.
That was super cute.
And his boys.
That was super cute and theywere running shit.
Disgust, they were running shit.
So how about when they werefaking to have captured him and
he was hitting R2 on the headwith his?
And then when they got in the?

Speaker 2 (33:26):
elevator R2 was like hey we didn't agree to that.
Yeah, that wasn't the plan.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
I was just trying to make it real.
I'm sorry.
I'm trying to make it real.
That was funny, that's funnyr2's a boss.

Speaker 2 (33:38):
I hope those.
I don't know what they're gonnado with those, but one of them.

Speaker 1 (33:42):
One of them didn't make it.

Speaker 2 (33:43):
No, I know yeah but they really need to keep them
around.
I don't know if we ever seethem anymore.
Probably not, probably not but, they serve their purpose.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
But it's just I that was like the one light-hearted
moment in the whole littletwo-part episode.

Speaker 2 (33:57):
But this was a genius , a genius move to get into that
place.
Yeah, absolutely.
You know, in carbonite and nowcarbonite, we can hopefully get
little models.
I would love of all of them.

Speaker 1 (34:09):
So any, anyone that's on that the you know any?
Any Etsy makers that arelistening to the show or
watching the show?
I want a captain Rex andcarbonite because that's, and
maybe even an Ahsoka andcarbonite.
That would be cool.
Yeah, I like when they came outand he was like.

Speaker 2 (34:24):
He was like hello snips, was she in somebody
else's carbonite?
No, she got into her own shehad her own.

Speaker 3 (34:30):
She just waited until the other ones were in theirs,
and then she was like, yeah, yeah, she probably jumped in.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
And said hey do it.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
Yeah, like, oh, I'm supposed to be with them and
that Ugnaught's going to be likeokay.
Yeah, yeah, he don't care hedon't care, that's so funny, but
that moment was he's like ohhey, Snips.
He's like hello master, andhe's like wait a minute.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
And then Obi-Wan's like are my eyes deceiving me
from the thing?
Yeah.
He's like do I have that?
Looks like Ahsoka.
He's like there's nothing wrongwith your eyes, but apparently
there's something wrong with herears.

Speaker 1 (35:03):
And Obi-Wan's like well, welcome to the party.
He doesn't care.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
He's like okay, whatever he does, but I think he
knows that she can handle it.
She can and she did, and it wasactually good she went.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
Yeah, because they needed her.
They would have had to scrubthe mission, the whole mission
would have been done, yeah, so.
But again, anakin's fear ofloss.
Okay, but I know, yeah, andwe'll see that play later on.
But you know she was like I.

(35:36):
I should be able to choose.
You know when and where my lifeis placed in danger you know
that shouldn't be up to him.

Speaker 4 (35:45):
This is where it starts.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
Right so as she's.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
I don't think it's a separation necessarily.

Speaker 4 (35:51):
I think it's a separation necessarily.

Speaker 1 (35:52):
I think it's.
You know what I mean.
They start growing in differentdirections.
Yes, and I think that she'sagain, she's.
She seems way more emotionallymature than him.
You know a lot.
She doesn't necessarily havethat same level of fear that he
does.
Well, she was taken youngeryeah, I don't know how old she

(36:12):
was when she I don't know butshe was taken a lot younger lore
master.
Do we know that?
Do we know how old ahsoka was,um, when she uh came to be with
the jedi?
I know she was an infant whenwe see her for the first time
riding that big ass saber toothcat, so that was pretty cool,

(36:33):
but I don't know.
I think she was like 12.
I think like 12 or 14 ish whenwe see her for the first time 12
, I think I think it's 12.
Yeah, yeah, because she's 16 bythe end of the war.
If I'm not mistaken, she's like16, 17 by the end of the war.
But I, if I'm not mistaken, she's like 16, 17 by the end of
the war.
Um, but I don't know.
I'm curious to see how old shewas, um, and yeah, I just I

(36:58):
think that these episodes, likethe deeper we get into season
three, um, it's just like thedeeper we get like into the lore
, like I don't like, like we'vegot three more episodes left to
watch in this season, I'massuming the next one is the
close to a three-part arc, which, for the citadel right, yeah,

(37:20):
so then there's only two afterthat so I imagine it's a
two-parter I I'm.
I'm hoping for something withjar jar banks.
No, I I am.
I need to laugh at this point, brother, I need to laugh, I just
I know, but we need to go outwith a bang.
We can't go out with the jar,jar banks we've got to go out
with a jar jar bank, so I'm I'mvoting.
I don't know what's coming upnext.

Speaker 3 (37:40):
Seriously, yeah, tony , if I see, when we turn this
off, you know how it gives alittle icon.
If there's a, if I see jar jaron any of those icons, I'm just
gonna going to go upstairs.
Come on man.
No, come on, you can't.
I don't need a Jar Jar episode.

Speaker 1 (37:53):
We do need a Jar Jar.
What about a droid episode no?

Speaker 2 (37:56):
Not a Jar Jar.

Speaker 1 (37:57):
No See, sorry, I just came back, you didn't even hear
the whole conversation no JarJar anymore.

Speaker 4 (38:12):
I said, we just need something light.
Seven to eight really heavyepisodes I think they're gonna
get heavy.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
Can we get so cool?
Was born 36 bby, okay, and thistakes place 20 bby, which would
make her 14 right now, she's 14right now, so but when did she
get to the jet?
When did the jedi get a hold ofher?
If we know, I don't know if weknow that.

Speaker 4 (38:27):
So this actually suggests and this is Wikipedia
this is basically saying thatshe died 20 BBY on Mortis but
then was resurrected.

Speaker 3 (38:42):
Which is what we just saw.

Speaker 4 (38:43):
So she would have been 16 at that time.

Speaker 1 (38:47):
So she died at 16 and then was resurrected at 16.

Speaker 4 (38:51):
Yep, yep.

Speaker 1 (38:52):
Okay, but nothing on how old she was when she came to
the Jedi.
Nothing about that.
Not seeing it yet.

Speaker 4 (39:02):
They might not be in the story.
You just know that, yeah.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
Because they take them young anyway.
I'm assuming, after theincident with that lion thing or
whatever, that she tamed.

Speaker 3 (39:15):
That was probably pretty soon after that.

Speaker 2 (39:18):
I'm going to say they took her, yeah yeah, shortly
thereafter.
Yeah, because I mean the templeis her home.
I mean she does know the templeinside and out.

Speaker 1 (39:29):
We really don't know much about her life prior to
prior to her hanging out withanakin.
What you got uh.

Speaker 4 (39:37):
So soka was discovered on her home world by
jedi master plo coon, that's whythat's oh little so close got
it little soka.

Speaker 1 (39:49):
is that from the?
Does it say what the source isfor that?
Is it a book, is it part of theseries or anything it doesn't
specify?
Okay.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
So there's.

Speaker 1 (40:00):
Well, it comes from somewhere.
Look at where it says that shewas discovered.
Is there a little number inparentheses next to it?
No, I mean because there'ssources for all that.
I mean they're not just goingto put in some random shit in
Wikipedia, so I'm sure thatthere's.
Well, that information camefrom some cited source that Plo
Kling got.

Speaker 4 (40:19):
I'm sure it did.
It's just not giving it to me.
That's fine.

Speaker 1 (40:23):
We'll look into it more.
We'll do a little deep dive onthat.
So, man, I think that's it forthis week.
Man, I think that's it for thisfor this week.
So a short episode for usbecause we only watched three
episodes.

Speaker 2 (40:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (40:33):
We're going to watch three more episodes next week,
so the last three episodes thelast three episodes of season
three and then we're on toseason four.
After that, oh, man, man, it'sgoing to get deep.
It's going to get deep Likewe're already deep in it.
We're already deep in thepudding.

Speaker 3 (40:52):
Yeah, we're already about elbow Right.
I don't know, can we go all theway to the shoulder?
We're going to keep going.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
So, now that we've come this far with season three,
before we wrap for this episode, now that we've come this far,
would we still say that it'sworth watching seasons one and
two?
Yeah, that it's worth watchingseasons one and two or just
start with seasons three?
Are we still saying that?
Because season one?

Speaker 2 (41:15):
Yeah, because you would miss all kinds of shit.
You have to watch all of itbecause it goes all over the
place You're right, it does go.
I'm wondering if he does it onpurpose to make sure you watch
it all.

Speaker 1 (41:25):
No, I think there's just some ADHD going on, and he
was like hey, I think we shouldwrite this.

Speaker 2 (41:32):
But going on and he was like hey, I think we should
write this.

Speaker 1 (41:32):
But you know what contradicts that?
I will do a backstory nextseason.
It's fine, we can do it.
So keep watching, watch, watch, watch, watch, all of it.
And, if for no other reason, you get connected to the
characters and you appreciatethe characters and you feel it
more when they're no longer withus.

Speaker 3 (41:42):
I will say that, as someone who has tried to watch
the series multiple, multipletimes and just not been gripped
in, or a big fan, and eventhrough our watching of the
first two seasons, there wasepisodes that I enjoyed but
nothing was still gripping me.
Yeah, um, this this season.

(42:04):
So I would say, if you're outthere and you're, you know
listening.
Well, I guess, if you'relistening this far, you've
probably already made up yourmind that you're, you know,
listening.
Well, I guess, if you'relistening this far, you've
probably already made up yourmind that you're going to watch.
But I, going forward, I willrecommend to people that it's
rough at times, but you got tomake it through those first two
seasons because it gets good.
Don't give up after the firsttwo seasons.

(42:26):
That's what I'll say.
All right, cause I've done thatmultiple times and I'm I times
and I'm in now, I'm invested.

Speaker 1 (42:33):
I'm invested, Tony.
What about you?

Speaker 4 (42:36):
Oh, I mean absolutely .
I definitely think that it isimportant to watch at least
parts of the first and secondseason.
I mean, there's definitely anepisode here and there that you
can skip, but it doesn't reallyhurt anything.
But if you've made it this far,you can't skip anything now.

Speaker 1 (42:55):
Now you are in.
Yeah, you're in it.
Yeah, you're in it.
Now You're invested.

Speaker 3 (42:59):
Yeah.
I think the skipping isprobably done at this point.
Yeah, I know.
