Speaker 1 (00:26):
Oh, I love that intro
.
It is a banger, love it.
So welcome everyone to skeletoncrew review.
We are the circle of nerds andthis is kind of a a supplemental
show to what we normally dowith our star wars safe space
podcast.
We could not not talk aboutSkeleton Crew, so here we are.
(00:47):
If you didn't check out lastweek's episode with Crash and I,
please go check that out.
We had a lot of fun.
I was on the road at the time,so it was like laptop.
It was like the lowest tech Icould go Laptop.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Gorilla podcasting.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Gorilla podcasting on
the road, doing gorilla
podcasting, yeah.
So I and I literally have notunpacked anything since we were
in bostween, so I had to likeget stuff, um and my camera's
frozen again, isn't it?
There we go all right.
So I still have a few littlebugs here and there, since I've
(01:24):
gotten everything quickly setback up.
So I'll do all that Anyway.
So Skeleton Crew Episode 3 isout and we're going to talk
about it today, but before we dothat, let's go around and meet
everyone.
So the operator, the pilot ofthe infamous Parma Flyer, it's
(01:48):
Crash.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
How you guys doing
S-Foil's locked and ready to go.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
There you go, love it
, love it, love it.
And from parts unknown, it is Tto the Oni and Friend.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
Welcome back,
everybody.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
And who's that that
like little santa grogu.
That's exactly what it is.
He's adorable, he is.
He is adorable so that I feellike um, oh, and I'm tommy,
what's up?
Okay.
So I feel like the internet hasalready been debating this
between Grogu and Neil, likewho's got the cuteness?
(02:29):
Have you seen the meme whereit's?
What is it?
The guy and his girlfriend arewalking and he turns to look at
the other girl that's walking byand his girlfriend's like hey,
the other girl that's walking byand his girlfriend's like hey,
I've seen that where peoplesuperimposed like neil's head on
the girl who's walking by andthen, and then din, is the guy
(02:52):
the boyfriend, and then thegirlfriend is is grogu.
So has grogu been dethroned asthe cutest star wars entity in
the galaxy?
Speaker 3 (03:04):
inquiring minds want
to know what's the chance not a
chance no there is a threat togrogu's overall cuteness by jeff
the land shark and marvel rival, but that that's the only
challenge that we've got rightnow yeah, but that's, that's
different franchise.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
So we'll uh, we'll
let that one slide for now and I
hope I don't have to keep doingthat like, well, that's a
podcast, but this is still goingto go up on on the tubes anyway
.
Um, that's like I'm sorry.
I'm just kind of gettingreacquainted with all the
buttons.
I apologize to all of ourlistener for uh for dealing with
this anyway.
(03:44):
So episode three uh, there is.
There's a little bit to unpack.
This episode went quick.
It was pretty.
I mean it was it was 40 plusminutes, but it was.
It was done like that.
I, when the episode was over, Iwas like this, is it there's?
That was quick.
I felt like it was 15 minutesyeah, definitely moved along.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
It.
Did you get a?
Speaker 2 (04:08):
little spoiled with
the two-parter.
There's so much they gottaestablish and they did the
cliffhanger and the jail celland it's like, well, it's like
the start of a Doctor whoepisode.
They gotta wrap up the previousepisode in like five seconds
and move on.
So this was the sort of okay, escape the prison, get out in
the world, and now what?
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Right.
So we're going to the bigquestion.
We're not going to rehash theentire episode.
If you watched it, you knowwhat happened, so we're not
going to rehash the entireepisode.
But the question that we'regoing to talk about is Jod and
his identity and our thoughtsand predictions.
So have that ready, have thatlocked and loaded.
(04:50):
But there's a couple things, uh,a couple other things we need
to unpack.
So, first of all, kb has twomoms.
It's a thing, get over it, moveon.
Like this, I feel like this isthis is the thing that the
fandom menace was waiting for, because, up to this point,
they're pretty chill, they'repretty quiet, they were liking
the show and then, all of asudden, kb has got two moms.
(05:13):
So and I haven't even botheredto look to see if there's been
any backlash and I'm almostpositive there has been or there
will be so it's still early so,kb, two moms, nobody cares
Moving on.
Be so it's still early.
So kb, two moms, nobody caresmoving on, unless you guys have
something to say about it allright, I'll take that as you
gotta say about it if somebodyhas a problem with it get over
(05:33):
it.
Yeah, there you go.
Well said, well said, all right.
So one of the reasons and we'lljust touch on this real quick
here's why I think the show isbrilliant, because in episode
three, the children asked allthe questions that the fans have
been asking for like a week, soall of the stuff that happened
(05:55):
in one and two.
The fandom has been asking, well, how did this happen and
where is this and why is this?
You like the stuff with Johnlike, well, if he was, if he's a
Jedi, why didn't he escapesooner?
The kids are asking thesequestions how did he, how did he
use the force?
And Fern said Fern listed likemagnets, mirrors, string, it
(06:18):
could be anything, and I lovethat and the sass she did it
with like are you?
Speaker 2 (06:22):
you know how dumb are
you to fall for a key on a
string trick.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
You are right, Fern
is the sass master and she's
giving off like great Han solovibes and I really, really hope
that, that we see these kidsgrow up and I hope that we get
more of them, because I wouldlove you know, as actors you
don't want them to necessarilyget typecast and I hope that we
get more of them because I wouldlove you know, as actors, you
don't want them to necessarilyget typecast and I'm sure they
don't either, but I would loveto see them locked into Star
(06:50):
Wars and watch them grow up.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Yeah, it's a good
growing for the good, Good Tony.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
I agree.
I think it'd be a lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
Correct and they're
at that age where these kids,
these actors, can play them fora certain while, for a couple
years.
You know if they do get a.
You know the ever so hard toget season two renewal.
You know if the show does welland they like the format and
they want something.
You know a lot of the buzzafter the first two episodes was
(07:22):
that star wars got to be funagain and I think these kids,
almost like the harry pottercast, have a window where, okay,
we can have these kids be partof something for a couple years
while they're in that age wherethey, you know they fit the role
and then they can move on withtheir lives and we and have nice
(07:42):
quiet lives outside the show.
But I think for now there'sthis element of okay, we've got
child actors and an interestingstory.
How far can we work with this?
Speaker 1 (07:54):
in a in a healthy way
, in a healthy way, and I I
think that, um, they, they, theykind of did that with with
harry potter.
I I didn't hear a whole lotabout the child actors' lives
being ruined.
They were handled well becausethey grew up doing these movies.
(08:15):
They grew up, that was theirchildhood.
They started when they werewhat like 10, 10 years old, 11
years old, something like that.
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
I saw the weasley
brothers at steel city con, I
mean, and they're like in theirmid-20s, late 20s now and
they're you know, they're stillknown for this role when they
were teenagers.
And there's perils that go withthat, as child actors go, and
as I feel like lucasfilm wouldbe very good at protecting the
children from the fandom menace,as it were I hope so.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
I hope so.
Um, you know they, they didn'tdo a great job with jake lloyd,
unfortunately, um that that kindof went sideways for him.
But I, I think that they didn't.
They didn't have jake for verylong.
They had jake for one movie andit's like thanks, buddy, enjoy
the rest of your life.
But there was so much hatredfor that movie when it came out,
um from, especially from theoriginal anyway.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
Anyway, how could
they be jamming us if they don't
know we're coming?
Speaker 1 (09:16):
Yeah, all right, so
we're getting off on a tangent.
That's going to be for ourother podcast, but this is
skeleton crew, skeleton crew,skeleton crew.
So, uh, one of the things thatI did notice that they because a
question that I had that theythey addressed was when um whim
was stuck in that little, thatlittle gully area and you had
(09:37):
the security droid justinstantly, just pop up on him
like you've got to get back toschool.
You're true, it it's like howdid, how did how did he know?
You know we crash you.
And I speculated on that andthey addressed it.
They're all low jacked, theyall have life monitors on them.
So when he didn't show up atschool, you know his his life
(09:58):
monitor was checked and securitydroid zeroed in on him, so it's
almost as if they heard us andthey knew it's weird.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
The whole planet, you
figure a whole school full of
kids are low jacked.
This is a very controlledsociety.
Whatever's going on.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
Yes, it is.
So we do learn more about that, which I think is very, very
intriguing, and we may discussthat as well.
I don't know, very, veryintriguing and we could.
We may discuss that as well.
I don't know, but the big thingthat I want to talk about is,
uh, jod nanawood I think that'shis full name also known as
captain silo, also known ascrimson jack.
(10:38):
So who are you, buddy, andthat's the question for this
episode is who is Jod?
What are our theories on this?
And, tony, we're going to startwith you, buddy.
I want to know what are yourthoughts here about Crimson Jack
(11:01):
aka, jod aka, who knows howmany else?
So, when?
I hear Star Wars and I hear theword Crimson, my mind
immediately goes to Crimson Jackaka, who knows how many else
when I hear Star Wars and I hearthe word Crimson, my mind
immediately goes to Crimson Dog.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Okay, so to me,
crimson Jack is a guy named Jack
who worked for the Crimson Dog.
Now, since then he leaves themor whatever, and becomes captain
of a ship.
So now he's Captain Silva, somaybe his actual name is Jack
Silva.
Now the thing is, for me that'salso a pretty bland name,
(11:37):
especially in the Star Warsuniverse.
But he would be Captain Jack, Imean he would be, but still.
I mean he would be, but still.
So that makes it interestingwhen he introduced himself as
Norwood or whatever.
Jod I think it's Jod Nah NahwoodLike it's Jod, then N-A-Nah and
(12:02):
then Nahwood, I believe.
So if his actual name is Jack, silva or Silva, that's an
interesting name to just make upon the spot.
So maybe that is his actualname.
Maybe he's hiding somethingabout his past.
That's why he goes by othernames.
Yeah, I have no idea.
(12:25):
I genuinely have no idea, andI'm looking forward to finding
out yeah me too.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Yeah me too.
It's like I I do.
I love that there's, uh,there's so many questions and
some things, some things feel alittle predictable, but but then
, but not really.
I mean, there there's, I don'tknow, looking forward to it,
crash.
What say you?
Speaker 2 (12:48):
I think.
First off, I like how this showhas shifted from the Space
Goonies motif heavy into thePirates of the Caribbean in
space.
Oh yeah, Real quick, jude Law,you know, character with
multiple aliases.
Whichever one he may, we maynever know which one he really
(13:10):
is because his lifestyle, youknow.
He he's got to go by adifferent name every time he
gets himself in trouble.
That's a very you know, evenwhen he shows up at this um
observatory, you know.
You know planet moon.
You know.
The first thought is you know, first thing, everything's is
okay.
What do you want from you know?
(13:31):
What do you know?
What are you trying to scam meout of now?
Right, this guy's atroublemaker around the galaxy
and I have a feeling he's gotplenty of aliases that he burns
through so you think that, uh,so what now we?
Speaker 1 (13:45):
yeah, there's
definitely a lot of uh pirates,
the caribbean vibes there was.
When, uh, when he was in the uh, the little droid shop looking
for sm33, um, it almost soundedlike there was some pirates of
the caribbean music being playedin there.
As he was going from droid todroid turning them on man
(14:09):
thoughts and prayers to thebattle droid.
I felt so bad for him.
When he turns him on, he's likedid we win?
Did we win Okay?
Speaker 2 (14:22):
You're going to take
that headpiece and put it on the
wall of remembrance with allthe clones that went down it.
Just you know, the poor guydoesn't even realize they lost
the war I feel like, I feel like, I have to.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
I feel like that, I
have to.
And that was interesting.
When they talked about alderaanand kim kim was like, oh, I
guess they missed the war, huh,so that that gives us a little
more hint into how long at attenhas been shrouded so that's
gonna be interesting.
(14:51):
So here's.
Here's my theory.
This is what I think.
This here's my theory about jod, and I could be way off.
We talked a little bit about itlast week, about I'm sorry, go
ahead.
Crash, were you saying somebody.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
No, go ahead.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
Okay, we talked about
a little bit last week, but I'm
starting to wonder.
So, do we think that he wasusing the force at all, or was
he manipulating things in someother way?
Speaker 2 (15:31):
I wonder if he might
have been using the force in a
casual.
You know I am self taught butwanna sense, like you know,
there's a lot of a little bit oftruth in what he said about.
Well, you know, it takes, ittakes a lot of practice.
Well, for Jedi, they go to atemple and they've, you know,
been taught the ways and themeditations and stuff like that.
(15:54):
After the empire they're stillgoing to be force sensitive
people.
But that doesn't necessarilymean they can't do certain
tricks out of reflex.
And I wonder if maybe judelaw's character has developed a
little bit of force, sensitivityand use that to you know the,
(16:16):
the heightened reflexes.
Maybe he can, you know, call asmall object to his hand and
then, you know, do the BenKenobi distract the guards thing
with a noise down the hallway?
Speaker 1 (16:27):
Yeah, jedi mind
tricks, self-taught, okay
self-taught, okay, so do wethink that he had any formal
training?
Could he have been a Padawanwho escaped order 66?
, tony, what are your thoughtson that?
(16:47):
It's entirely possible.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
I I think of him more
.
I think of him more as anatural force user, but not a
trained one.
To me, his tricks kind ofremind me of the little boy at
the very end of Episode 8, wherehe just pulls the broom to
himself.
I have this limited abilitywhere I can do a little bit
(17:16):
little things here and there, but I don't consider myself to
be a jedi or anything else.
Let's just I can just do thesethings right.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
So, but he has.
He has knowledge of, you know,I don't want to say the force,
but he's's got knowledge of thelore, he's got knowledge of some
of the rules and the thingsthat are said, and so he has
knowledge of the Jedi.
So did he again, was he a youngPadawan?
(17:46):
Did he happen to find some sortof holocron somewhere or some
or some sort of ancient Jeditext?
Uh, or or scroll or something?
I'm probably not an actualscroll, but you know like, did
he find like an ancient Jedibook of some sort and he read
through it and you know hepicked up these things.
(18:06):
But do we, do we think that heis and he said he said he never
said he was a Jedi?
That he is and he said, he saidhe never said he was a Jedi.
But do we think that he's insome way a part of the Jedi
order, like pre-order 66,?
Speaker 3 (18:24):
obviously At this
point I don't, if anything, I'd
see him as kind of like Wim,where he's.
Maybe he was fascinated withthem growing up and just learned
what he could.
Again, I don't see any signs offormal training or background
that would indicate that he'sbeen around other Jedi.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
Okay, Crash.
What do you think?
Speaker 2 (18:50):
When he meets the
kids he hears them talking about
Jedi and Jedi this and Jedithat and that was sort of his in
.
He may know a little bit aboutthe lore just by growing up,
much like when you know theremight have been storybooks,
there might have been you know, just tales of the Jedi that kids
you know heard on theunderground that the Empire just
couldn't completely suppressunderground, that the Empire
(19:13):
just couldn't completelysuppress.
And I think he's sort ofplaying the role kind of like
that guy in Kenobi who waspretending to be a Jedi to scam
people out of money.
You know you talk a big game, you work in a few sleight of
hand tricks and the averageperson's not crash.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
You're breaking up a
little bit there, but I I I get
what you're saying.
Like, you know slight of handtricks.
Just, you know it's alltrickier.
Maybe it was maggots, maybeit's some sort of remote or or
something, who knows, who knowsall right.
So we're gonna have to wait andsee and I'm really, really
(19:55):
excited about this.
So I'm I'm I'm so happy withthe show.
I really am, I'm so happy withthe show.
Um, we also heard that it isforbidden to make contact to
anyone outside, anyone off world, so they can't even reach out
to the republic.
You know, I'm assuming theyhaven't had any transmissions in
(20:18):
either, since they're a hiddenworld now.
So do you think anyone on thatplanet actually has the means to
contact the outside?
And, if so, are they aware ofwhere they are currently?
Um, in the history of therepublic, like because I think
(20:40):
we're what about?
Like seven to nine years afterreturn of the jedi?
This takes place around thesame time as the mandalorian, so
so somewhere around there, likeseven to nine years out.
So are the people of at at, andat least one person, is one
person on this planet, aware ofthe current state of the galaxy?
What do you guys think?
Speaker 3 (21:04):
I think there's a
chance that there's one or two
people.
You know whoever put this.
You know, great plan intoeffect, great plan into effect.
But, like, I assume we're goingto get to this a little bit
more later, but my currenttheory is that, whatever this
(21:25):
great thing is, it took theplanet completely off the map,
and maybe to such a degree that, like, the technology, is not
even the same anymore.
Um, and star wars has neverdone this, and I'm hoping that
I'm wrong in this.
(21:47):
But I've been trying to figureout why the ship would have just
crashed there, the ship thatthey're they're currently on,
why the ship would just crashedthere, the ship that they're
currently on, why the ship wouldhave just crashed there and
been buried.
And the only thing that I canthink of is that it's kind of
like when you enter into thatlittle bubble that they're in,
you almost go back in time.
(22:08):
Yeah, yeah.
And so when that ship got there, you know, presumably by
accident, like it just lost allcontrol because it not, like it
wouldn't work within that timeframe, like there's no controls
to.
I don't know what the properphrasing is, uh, but that's how
(22:31):
the ship crashed there, and sonow it's the like the people on
the planet they might like.
Again, there might be a selectone or few that have that
ability to reach out, but in thegrander scheme of things, with
all the things that that most ofthe people on that planet are
(22:52):
not aware of happening in theoutside world, being able to
find a random ship full of kidsis not going to be high on their
priority list, right.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
Now, it's entirely
possible, too, that the ship
crashing on At-Aton predates theculture that's there now.
It's entirely possible that itcould have crashed a hundred
plus years prior to anyonesettling on that planet.
(23:24):
And you know, maybe the planetwas, you know, designated as the
perfect spot for the you knowthe great work, but that ship
had already been there and thetreasure had maybe already been
there.
So, but I I did notice thatthey were looking at when, was
looking at the credits again, asthey were talking about you
(23:45):
know everybody's into accountingand you know everyone's
analysts and things like that.
So it could be possible thatthey found the treasure a long
time ago and they've been usingit to basically melt down and
print money and they have tokeep account of it.
So I don't know.
I don't know.
(24:06):
Crash, what are your thoughts?
Speaker 2 (24:16):
interesting how
quickly, yeah, the parents, you
know, once they got word of thekids that were off world and
they were certain, you know, like, like parents I assume
would do.
You know their.
Their first and only thought ishow do I get my kids home?
The droids to in my mind almostwere writing them off right
away as well.
They're gone.
Just go, go back to your dailylives, just go about your work.
Um, forget your kids, and Ihave a feeling that's going to
(24:39):
come back to bite them later on.
This, the society, this is, youknow, this planet that's been
sort of deliberately reclusivefrom the galaxy.
Like you know, I don't thinkanybody's ever left before
because no one's ever wanted toleave.
Now you've got somebody, youknow these kids out there trying
(25:01):
to find their way home, and whoare they going to draw with
them in the process?
You know the pirate.
Obviously the pirates are.
Or, you know, heard the nameand and immediately it's, like
you know, eldorado.
Yeah, I'll take you home toEldorado, sure, can I bring some
stuff home with me.
Speaker 1 (25:19):
Right.
So, and you know it wasinteresting, so we're going to
wrap up here in a minute, butit's interesting because, as
they were, you know, you knowthe robot, the droid, was
talking to the parents.
We saw Wim's dad take hisglasses off and in that moment I
(25:40):
was getting a very like denzelwashington, in the equalizer
vibe.
Like dad is about to go do someshit.
Like he's not.
He is not going to conform tothis utopian ideal.
He is not going to be a part ofthe status quo.
He's damn sure not going tolisten to these droids.
(26:01):
Dad's going to look for his son.
I'm telling you mark my words Ireally feel like he is going to
.
He is going to have anadventure and that's going to
bring him and his son closertogether.
But he's going to Jack a shipand he's going to bring him and
his son closer together.
But he's going to jack a shipand he's going to take off and
he's going to.
He's going to go looking forhis kid because he that was just
just that one instance of himtaking his glasses off.
(26:24):
That's a man with resolve andthat's a man who now has the
wheels moving.
There's a plan in motion andwim's dad poppy's about to get
into some trouble to bring hiskids back that will bring all
the kids back.
So, and maybe, uh maybe, fern'smom will go with him.
(26:46):
I don't know, but I think we'regoing to find out some shit
about about the parents.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
I think that dad
might I think there's somebody's
gonna be taking sides.
You know.
You know, do something versuslet the authorities handle it.
There's gonna be, I agreethere's gonna be a schism
amongst the parents over no, no,I need to get my kid home now
but maybe dad isn't asmild-mannered as he seems.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
Maybe maybe he's got
a background, maybe he's uh
former old republic specialforces operative.
You know, he's a tier oneoperator for the old republic or
so I don't know.
I don't know.
But uh, either that or he'sjust a dad who wants to get his
son back and he's not going tobe held back by anybody else.
(27:31):
So I I don't know.
Predictions for next week.
What do you guys say?
Crash?
Speaker 2 (27:39):
Well, I think the
biggest thing I think is we're.
You know, we saw the Jude Lawkind of steering the kids away
from help.
You know, as an audience, whenyou see X-Wings come in, you
think, oh, here come the goodguys to save the day To a
criminal.
Oh, here come the cops.
(27:59):
I better get out of here withthis ship I've stolen and these
kids I'm conning along the way.
He's leading them where hewants to go and this partnership
, I feel, is very Jack Sparrow-yloose.
I feel is very Jack Sparrow-yloose in the moment.
However, it benefits him.
He'll wait for that opportunemoment, kind of thing.
Speaker 3 (28:22):
Right.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
And there's going to
be a little bit of a tension, I
think, between him and me, thedroid who is dedicated to the
ship and partially to the kids.
I feel like there's going to bea little bit of a power
struggle on the ship, as well asbetween the parents and the
authorities, about finding theirchildren yeah, I agree.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
And uh, I thought it
was interesting, the, uh, the
kids were about to sauce thosex-wings.
I, they.
I was like wait a minute, arethere not going to?
They're not going to kill someRepublic X wing pilots, are they
?
What's happening over here?
Speaker 2 (29:02):
So I was like wasn't
that like the greatest kid
moment, though?
Yeah, you know the first timethat it's like.
You know, luke Skywalker wasall like a 19 year old, a 20
year old year old, a 20 year old, an older kid, but just that
idea, you know you're the videogame fantasy of.
Okay, kid, here I'm gonna putyou in this turret and just just
shoot.
Just shoot at anything you knowjust shoot you didn't tell him
kill the x-wings, he just saidjust keep firing.
(29:24):
You know, distract them, keepthem busy until we.
But just that idea as a kid togo oh wow, I'm in the chair, I
come at the controls.
Pew, pew, pew, pew.
Cute, we've all.
We all did that as kids.
That was, that was total wishfulfillment.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
The fantasy, the fun
that I feel like this show is
touching on and if you're thatage, even even in desperate
times, and if you're a kid andyou get into a laser turret,
yeah you're like all right, that's pretty cool.
He might still be scared, buthe's pretty cool, and it was
interesting how, how jod wascontrolling that narrative too.
Speaker 2 (29:59):
He was like those,
you know, kim's goons yeah, it's
not the new republic, it's notthe, it's not, it's not help,
it's not the cavalry, they'reher goons and they're coming to
get you right.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
So as far as the kids
knew, those x-wing pilots were
the bad guys.
Right and they were.
They were about to get youright.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
So as far as the kids
knew, those x-wing pilots were
the bad guys, right and theywere.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
They were about to
get sauced, so very interesting.
I love this.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
This show one little
easter egg before we go.
I don't know if you guys pickedup on this.
Uh, anthony melina played that.
Uh ishtib in the droid.
Know the scrap room where theywere looking for Smee the droid?
Yeah, his name.
I looked it up Benjar Pranic.
(30:42):
You know that's his name, youdon't.
As soon as you heard his voice.
And the best part is, you knowyou've heard of the Mignot hat
trick, where she's been in aDisney, a Marvel and a Star Wars
show.
Yes, melina is now completedthe hat trick.
He's played uh, elsa not hisfather in the frozen to doc in
(31:04):
the Sony and then later in, youknow, the no way home.
So it's part of the MCU and nowstar Wars.
So he's completed the hat trick.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
Nice.
Yeah, I love that stuff.
I love that stuff.
Tony, predictions for next week.
What do you think?
Speaker 3 (31:20):
well, my biggest
prediction, my biggest thing for
next week's episode inparticular, is that we're almost
going to have a reverse of thisepisode, where in this episode
we had maybe a minute and a halfwith the parents and actually
being on at, and then the entirerest of the episode with the
parents and actually being on adAtten, and then the entire rest
of the episode was the kids andJohn.
(31:42):
I think this next episode isgoing to be almost the exact
opposite.
Okay.
Okay, because I mean at thispoint you know they've got
supposedly they've got thecoordinates to get home, at
least as much as Kim thoughtthat was going to be the right
place.
So, like, consider you're goinginto hyperspace Unless the ship
breaks down, or something likethat, like there's nothing
(32:03):
stopping them from just goingstraight there.
I mean, obviously you have todeal with the barrier whenever
when you get there, but I thinkwe're going to have like, if
we're going to drag this out foreight episodes, we've got to
focus more on the B-plot of theparents, and I think that's
going to happen in this nextepisode.
Fair, fair the other thing thatand I don't know that I call it
(32:24):
a prediction, but just my senseof it lately is that when this
show first started I thoughtthat when was going to be the
audience conduit?
Now I'm thinking it might benot going to be him, it's going
to be the girl.
Speaker 1 (32:45):
Which one KB or.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
KB.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
In particular the
fact that she was the one that
kind of stuck behind it to makesure Kim was okay.
Kim said you could reach out ifyou need anything, although I
don't know how she's going to dothat but.
Speaker 1 (33:01):
Did she give her a
cell or something?
Speaker 3 (33:02):
Yeah, so that's my
thoughts as far as future is
concerned.
I did also have one potentialEaster egg.
I'm not sure about this becauseI've only seen it a couple of
times in the cartoon, but I'mpretty sure that when they were
leaving, when they were tied upand trying to get out of that
(33:23):
port, I'm pretty sure I sawHondo's ship there, really, yeah
.
Speaker 2 (33:31):
Yeah, that was
Hondo's ship and other people
picked up on that.
Everybody's scanning thescenery for any little Easter
egg and Hondo's ship is, I guess, very prominent in this.
Whether we'll see him make anappearance is another story, but
just seeing his ship kind ofimplies that he was there.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
Oh, I'll have to look
back.
I missed it.
I didn't see it.
I hope we see Hondo.
That would be so cool.
That would be great.
I would love Hondo.
That would be so cool, thatwould be great.
I would love honey, he is, heis.
He is the bad guy that you loveto hate.
I mean, he really is I, yeah, all right.
So, oh, oh, I can't wait to seewhere this goes.
(34:12):
So that's going to do it for us.
We are going to be, uh, off, weare going to be off the radar
for the next two weeks becauseof the holidays, so everyone's
going to enjoy holiday time withthe family and all that.
So we are going to be backafter New Year's.
And let me look at a calendar, because I probably should have
(34:36):
had this written down already.
A calendar, because I probablyshould have had this written
down already, because today, ohno, no, we'll be back to discuss
episode four next week, butthen we'll be taking off
Christmas Day and New Year's Day, of course, and then we'll be
back on January 8th to talkabout, probably, five and six,
(34:57):
but I think the series might beover or close to being over by
then, but anyway, so that wasreally pointless everything that
I just said, because I didn'tknow what today was and that's
kind of how it goes in my world.
So that is going to do it forus this week, looking forward to
episode four next week.
(35:17):
And, of course, do uh like, subscribe, do all the things.
Leave us some comments, uh,follow us on uh all of our
socials.
We're doing a lot of stuff ontiktok, uh, while it lasts, and
uh just kind of uh having fungeeking out.
You guys got anything before wehead out?
no, just really enjoying thiswait, wait, what, what, what,
(35:39):
what?
You gotta pimp the merch.
Oh yeah, that's right, I gottapimp the merch.
So, uh, head on over to ourwebsite, circleofnerdscom, slash
merch and uh, pick up somestuff.
We don't have any merch forthis show though yet, but we've
got.
We've got merch for our othershow, which you should be
listening to as well.
Uh, because on that show, ifyou're not familiar, if all
you're familiar with is whatwe're doing here on skeleton
(36:01):
crew review.
On our other show, star wars, safe space, we're going through
all of the star wars, all the tvshows, all the films, in
chronological order, and thendiscussing.
So if you're kind of new tostar wars, that's kind of what
we're, what we're geared towards.
That way, each week, we giveyou homework, you watch it, kind
of watch it along with us, andthen we discuss, maybe connect
(36:23):
the dots a little bit and have agood time.
That comes out every Tuesday.
You can check out new episodesof Star Wars, safe Space every
Tuesday on your favoritepodcasting platform or, if you
like to watch, you can check usout on YouTube.
Speaker 2 (36:43):
Thank you for
reminding me, tony.
I appreciate you.
Uh, crash, did you havesomething else?
No, just really, like we'vebeen saying all enjoying the
show, uh, I was at steel citycon last weekend and got to talk
to bryce dallas howard.
She's excited for this show andand she's that old school
hollywood where she's liketrying to express her excitement
for it but without actuallysaying which episode she's
directing, even though Disney'salready announced the whole
(37:05):
slate and they've told you so weknow.
But I like the fact that eventhe people working on this show
are excited about the fun ofthis show, and that's really the
word that keeps coming back tome is star wars gets to be fun
again yeah, yeah, it's been.
Speaker 1 (37:23):
It's been pretty
heavy.
It's been pretty heavy.
It hasn't been bad.
Other you know, people say it'sbeen bad and that's your
opinion.
Everybody's entitled to youropinion.
Um, but star wars has been very, very heavy, even the clone
wars and rebels.
Although they're animated, they're just cartoons man they
get heavy, get heavy.
They get really reallyemotionally heavy.
The sequels very heavy.
(37:43):
Rogue One, obviously, is aheartbreaker, and or it's like,
oh my god.
It's like, yes, this is.
Skeleton Crew is the breath offresh air that we really needed.
In Star Wars.
Crash, like you said, it'sgetting the the fun and the
excitement and you know allthese things that that George
(38:06):
wanted in star Wars, you know.
I mean this is I really reallyhope that George is watching
this with a big old smile on hisface.
I, I, just, I really do hopethat he's just somewhere sitting
on the couch with his familytogether watching this beautiful
, beautiful show and justgrinning from ear to ear Cause
(38:28):
he hasn't always been smilesabout some of the other
properties that have come out.
But I really do.
I mean this.
I mean this could have beenwritten by George himself not
directed, because it's waybetter than anything that he's
ever directed, but written.
Yeah, George could have writtenthis himself.
He couldn't have done anybetter.
(38:49):
This is great, all right, sothat is going to do it for us
again.
Thank you all for joining usand we will see you next week to
discuss episode four of theskeleton crew and in the
meantime, follow us on all thethings.
So crash, tony.
Thank you guys so much forjoining this week and are we
(39:09):
going to see you next week, maybe All right cool See if we
can rope some more nerds intothis along with us.
So, all right, that's goinggonna do it.
You guys.
Have a good one and we'll seeyou next week.
Thank you.
