I'm looking forward to sharing this interview with you. I had the opportunity to work on a collaborative project with Kristof Lambregts of Belgium. He created a sound healing track and I infused it with Reiki energy and a guided meditation. Our inspiration was the energy of the full moon.

The cosmic language of sound speaks directly to our souls, bypassing the analytical mind and touching something deeper within us. Kristof joins us to share his journey through music and sound. As a sound healer and meditation teacher, Kristof works intuitively with the instruments he plays from singing bowls to gongs to chimes.

Our conversation explores the fascinating process behind creating effective sound journeys. We were then able to blend the healing work we each do into one piece to allow listeners to sit in the beautiful liquid energy of the moon.

Experience this beautiful synthesis of ancient sound wisdom and modern therapeutic practice. Your cells will remember what your mind may forget - that we are vibrational beings in a universe composed of sound.

Shannon (00:02):
Hi, thank you so much for joining me today.
I'm Shannon and this isStarseed Evolution, bringing the
wisdom and insight of thecosmos to you.
I'm grateful that you'relistening.
Hi, I'm here today with KristofLambregts of Belgium.

(00:25):
He's a sound healer and werecently collaborated together
on a sound healing andmeditation with Reiki, and the
intention of the work that wedid together was bringing the
healing energy of the full moon.
Bringing the healing energy ofthe full moon.

(00:49):
I'd like to share thisinterview with you now and hope
you enjoy it.
How long have you been doingsound healing?

Kristof (00:58):
For me, sound has always been a big part of my
life actually.
So it's hard to say when Istarted sound healing as a
journey, um, but I startedplaying music, um, when I was 14
, 15 years old, but even beforeI had a very strong connection
to sound and music.
I, as a kid, I've always beenum scared from heavy sounds.

(01:21):
They had a huge impact on mylife.
But also beautiful sounds.
They were so strong I had suchemotions I could have with
certain music, but also withjust sound.
So it's always been a big partof my life.
When I started playing music, itstarted to make more sense.
During that journey, gradually,I've been diving deeper into

(01:45):
music, deeper into sound.
And then yoga and meditationcame on my path.
And then you know likenaturally, I was drawn to nada
yoga and sound meditation andthat really made such a big
change for me in my ownmeditation practice.
It felt so right, it felt sonatural.

(02:06):
But I started following thispath completely and, of course,
as a musician.
When I started to teach yogaand meditation myself, right
away I was into sound meditationand I started to implement
sound healing later on into mypractice.

Shannon (02:22):
When you were a kid and you were starting on the
journey of music.
What were the instruments thatyou were drawn to initially when
you came into it?

Kristof (02:33):
I started playing bass guitar, I had some friends one
was a drummer, the other one wasa guitarist and they were like
let's start a heavy metal band.
That's awesome and I was likeyeah, sounds like a great idea
to learn how to play aninstrument.
So the bass guitar wasn't uh,chosen yet, so so that was when

(02:57):
I started practicing playing.

Shannon (03:01):
Did you move into any other instruments before moving
into the sound healing with thecrystal bowls and gongs and
those types of instruments?

Kristof (03:27):
went studying music and then I studied like historical
woodwind instruments, just likeblack pipe and some flutes types
that are regular here CentralEuropean, yeah, all these
instruments basically.
And then I switched over to thedouble bass.

Shannon (03:40):
Oh, okay.

Kristof (03:41):
Went.
Actually, I went back to thebass and that's what I studied
back then and then later onsinging bowls.
I started with Himalayansinging bowls.

Shannon (03:50):
Mm-hmm.

Kristof (03:51):
Really to enhance the shavasana at the end of my yoga
class and that's how I rolledinto it Okay.
I noticed oh, this is strong, Ihave so many musical options
but also energetically.
That's awesome really.
Uh, it really took me over thatI, and then I started studying
sound healing as a as a modality, as a tool, and yeah, that's

(04:15):
when blown it.

Shannon (04:17):
So do you teach yoga currently?

Kristof (04:21):
yeah, okay, that's uh.
Only two classes a week, yeah.

Shannon (04:26):
What kind of yoga do you teach?

Kristof (04:28):
I teach very classical Hatha yoga.

Shannon (04:30):
Oh, what school did you go to for music?

Kristof (04:35):
So you have like this I think it's the same in the US
we have institutes that teachmusic, just like music school.
It's not like a high school orthe normal school where you go,
but it's extra on top of thenormal school and they just
teach music.
They teach music history.

(04:56):
You get the history, you getplaying the instruments.
You get the theory behind music, like scores, composing.

Shannon (05:06):
So if we move into like sound healing part, when you do
the, either teaching online, like through Insight Timer, or
when you do your recordings foryour tracks, how do you choose
the different instruments inthose tracks?

Kristof (05:28):
I always start with an intention.
Like you say, there's a certaintopic, and then I take some
time to really feel how I cantranslate what I want to say in
the topic through sound, becauseI rarely use words on my live
streams or on my tracks.
I try to explain.

(05:50):
It's not the right word, but Iwant to bring my idea through
music and not through sound, soI use it as a way of speech.
Basically, it's a universallanguage to me.
So I really feel into what do Iwant to say and how am I going
to say it?
And that's what.
What will decide whichinstruments I'm going to use and

(06:10):
, if I'm using multipleinstruments, what I do too.
Um, then I try to decide okay, which is going first and why.
Most people have around 20minutes of time.
They need to really calm themind.
First part I always go intosilence, into relaxation, try to

(06:31):
silence the mind, to silencethe monkey mind, and that's
usually where the core of thejourney is going to expand from.
It's going to happen from there.
It's going to happen from there.
And then in the end, I moveupwards again in the energy to
prepare people to reawake orwake up again and return to

(06:52):
their bodies.

Shannon (07:02):
You can use many instruments for many purposes,
because the way you play themand how you make them sound
together is important too, sayyou start with the intention and
then you begin.
Do you also allow theinstruments to kind of share
with you which one of them wantsto come in, or is there an
intuitive part to it for you too?

Kristof (07:20):
When I tune into the intention, I often start to hear
certain colors of sounds andthat's mostly like, okay, this
color of sound suits theseinstruments and that's how I
feel into using this instrumentor that instrument.

Shannon (07:38):
And then do you also experience the feeling of it
while you're doing it too, youknow, like you know, whether
it's during a live session oryou're creating, um, a track
with a certain intention, um, doyou yourself also like
experience the intention of thatmusic, um with the instruments

(08:01):
as well?

Kristof (08:02):
yeah, in some way I feel the energy and I feel the
intention and I experience it,but I do not experience it as
people who are receiving this, because I'm in an active state.
Um, I have to feel on.
Where do I switch um harmonics?
Where do I switch singing bowls?

(08:23):
How am I going to play it?

Shannon (08:25):
So you have to be conscious during it.

Kristof (08:28):
Yeah, yeah, I cannot just go now.
You can't drift off with it Likeoh wait yeah absolutely and
also think a few steps ahead, because like, okay, where am I
going with this story?
Like, for example, I'm in thehimalayan singing balls and I'm
I'm playing grounding tones, butI want to go higher in energy.

(08:52):
I have to find this because ifI switch chords, like I'm
playing certain notes, when Imove to the next one, I have to
take a few steps in between tonot make it sound dissonant.
So I'm consciously planning toum, much like now I'm thinking
what are my next words going tobe?

(09:13):
It's kind of the same thing, but still I'm really into the
zone and into the energy, notthinking about anything else.
I'm experiencing it.
I'm experiencing the emotions, feeling the collective, so
things like that, but then I'mthe one who is transmitting it
or translating it Right right.

(09:34):
That's how it feels.
Yeah, yeah it's complex.
I think it's much like when youare doing a spoken meditation
You're also still speaking, still doing your thing, and you
have a different place to be.
You're a space holder at thatmoment and not a participant.

Shannon (09:54):
Yeah, and it's interesting because a lot of
times what happens like when wework together and you sent the
track, like I'll listen to thetrack well, I listened to it
once, first time just to feellike the scope of the whole
thing, and then, when I sat downwith the intention of
channeling the, the meditation, like what happens is there's

(10:17):
like a it's almost like a moviescreen that comes up and it
shows me like the journey we'retaking, and so what I do is just
write down what I'm seeing, basically, and so I have to stay
conscious.
Right, you know, I can't gointo it until afterwards.
Then I can take the journeyagain by listening.

(10:41):
I already have writteneverything down, so then I can
also then participate in theenergy afterwards.

Kristof (10:50):
I really, really liked how your words fitted the
journey.
That was the intention that Icreated with the singing balls.
So it's really beautiful to seehow this works out and there is
real connection between whatyou felt.
Yeah, what was, what's themusic and what's the intention?

Shannon (11:10):
that is really yeah, because, um well, so what I want
to say, like going into likethe track that we worked on, the
theme that we picked washealing with full moon or with
moonlight, and so what we did isChristoph did the sound healing

(11:30):
part first and then sent me thetrack and then I sat with it
and listened to the energy ofwhat he created and then from
that then wrote the the moonjourney for the meditation.
When you sat down to create it,what was that process like for

(11:55):
you in connection with theenergy of the moon and bringing
that through the instruments?
How did you choose this?
Because you worked with thecrystal singing bowls, is that
right?
And how did they talk to you totranslate moon energy?

Kristof (12:14):
So, if you want to talk about that process, Moon energy
is always such a powerfulenergy to me.
Why the crystal singing balls?
I it really came instantly, um,I've, which was which was funny
because I've been going througha period where I've been more
drowned to the himalayan singingballs.

(12:34):
And when we were talking aboutthe intention, the first thing
that came to my mind is like thefull moon.
It's about clarity, it's aboutlight um, it's not.
It's like putting things into alight, looking at it from other
perspectives, um, so that'sthat's what what came through me
, and I really felt that thesinging bowls were the best

(12:58):
instruments to tell this story.
They, they, have a light energy.
The energy of the crystalsitself is wonderful and I can
really move through it, almostlike liquid light, moving from
one tone to another.
That kind of blend keeps mefrom an auditive perspective,

(13:21):
gives me this beautiful blendthat you have in the moonlight.
When you look outside, thingsare clear, but they're different
, and that really spoke to mewhen I was thinking about this
intention.

Shannon (13:35):
Yeah, because the clear tones of the crystal singing
balls really came through, tonesof the crystal singing bowls
like really came through, andthat's kind of how I also see
the.
I guess the energy of what themoon asks of us from a spiritual
, like a metaphoricalperspective on our journey is,

(13:57):
you know, to most clearly see itit's outside, and then when the
moon is full it's its brightest, so it's bringing that
illumination, like on our path, you know, into darker spaces and
trying to bring clarity.
So it's that journey.
So in this track it's coolbecause it's both sound and then

(14:22):
the journey of the meditation, and then the other thing that I
did was I infused it with Reiki, which has that same light
energy, and so, yeah, it was funto create those two together
and, and, um, allow the moon totalk both through sound and

(14:46):
words, and and energy so talkabout a little bit your business
.
That akshara sound healing.
Where did that?
How did you choose the wordakshara?
And then, um, what other kindsof offerings do you do through
your business?

Kristof (15:05):
that's a great question .
Akshara is a sanskrit word, itcomes from the back of a beta
and it means the uh,imperishable um, the never
ending actually, and it comesfrom akshara brahma yoga, which
means the imperishable truth.
That is yoga.
So um, to me, this spoke mostbecause it's often referred to

(15:30):
as the mantra om as well, whichis basically the sound of
creation, the sound that isalways there, that's always
moving, and that was sobeautiful, uh, to have this
akshara and om combined into mymusic and and my purpose with
sound.
So that's why I chose the nameakshara, okay.

(15:51):
And then, yeah, with akshara, mybusiness, um, I.
I create uh sound healingsessions, I host sound baths
groups.
I do this one-on-one as well, both online and offline.
That's mostly what I do.
Now I'm also setting up acommunity it's actually already

(16:14):
there the community where I'mgoing to teach everything about
sound healing.
Oh, okay, it's a great coursewhere you can learn how to play
these instruments, how to um usesound as a healing modality,
how to host uh soundbots, andeverything's all going to happen
there.

Shannon (16:30):
So that's oh, nice something nice for soon.

Kristof (16:41):
Yeah, oh, that, something like that, and I've
been really getting into it fromMarch last year, so it'll be
about a year that I've beenreally working on Insight Timer.

Shannon (16:55):
Okay, and how often do you offer the live sessions?

Kristof (17:02):
That depends on how busy I am.
I love to host live streams.
There was a period that I didone every week.
Now it's more like one everyother week.
That's two or three livestreams each month.
Often live gets busy and it's alittle less.
Sometimes it's a little more.

Shannon (17:23):
Yeah, and that makes sense.

Kristof (17:25):
I don't want to stress out too much about it.

Shannon (17:28):
So how do you get ready for a live session, whether
it's oh?
Do you choose a theme or anintention ahead of time, or do
you choose it like the day of,or?
How does that work for you?

Kristof (17:44):
I usually plan it ahead so I can make very clear in the
announcements and thedescription of the live session
what it's going to be about.
Yeah, most of the time I reallyplan out something, some
intention ahead, somethingthat's relevant for the time of
year.
I really like to do sessionsaround the seasons.

(18:05):
We just had solstice.
I like to move with that aswell and with the energy of the
seasons.
Translating certain topicstowards chakras and I work
around these chakras issomething I do very often as
well.
I really like to plan and, if Ican, I plan them ahead, like I

(18:26):
did the chakra series, where Idid all of the chakras.
Oh that's nice.
Separate series, yeah, and thenone long session to balance them
all.

Shannon (18:37):
To integrate everything .

Kristof (18:38):
Yeah, so it becomes like a real something to follow,
something to be there and and,and I believe that those are the
lives that also have bigimpacts for people who are
showing up, uh, week after week, and, and, yeah, doing doing
things, doing the work, doingthe meditation so I just want to

(18:59):
thank Kristof for being with ustoday and for sharing his
journey and his sound healingwith us, and it's been awesome
being able to collaborate withhim on this track, and thank you
so much for being with me today.

(19:20):
Thank you, Shannon.
I really loved ourcollaboration.
It's really great, and alsothank you for this interview and
having the opportunity to be inyour podcast.
It's really beautiful and Iwish everyone a wonderful
experience during the meditation.

Shannon (19:38):
I hope you enjoy the sound healing track that we
created with the crystal bowls, the guided meditation and the
Reiki.
Have a beautiful journey.
A ringing sound of vibrationawakens you, calling you outside

(20:18):
.
You feel the sound moving inand around your whole body and

(20:57):
as you step outside in the nightsky, you follow the invitation
of the energy and follow thesound.
You find yourself walkingthrough an enchanted desert
where the night sky radiateswith the light of a million
stars, each one singing yourname.

(21:19):
A coyote howls and yips in thedistance with excitement,
feeling the light of the starsjust as you do.
As you walk, you find ahand-carved granite bench along

(21:59):
the path in the desert and asyou sit upon the bench the
ringing grows louder untiloverhead you see the moon placed
gently in the middle of thenight sky, among all the stars.

(22:22):
You greet the moon with a smileand open.

(22:43):
Your heart opens.
You take in the energy of themoon and her healing light,
allowing it to move through yourwhole body.
With each breath you take, youbreathe in the song of the stars

(23:15):
.
The energy of the stars, theenergy of the moon and the

(23:46):
openness of your, of your cellsbegin to match the vibration of
the moon coming into alignment, all the parts of you that seem

(24:15):
dark or hidden Parts of you, that vital energy to the world.

(24:43):
Just as the moon shines atnight, so too do you, and as the

(25:21):
vibration of the moon begins togrow in intensity and light
around you, you realize that themoon is humming your name
throughout all time, weaving itinto the cosmos.

(25:44):
You close your eyes and receivethis healing light and sound

(28:01):
from the moonlight.
Thank you, thank you, and themoon gently whispers in your ear
.
Among the light throughout thenight, there is no one so lovely
as thee.
You look up and see that themoon is smiling over you and she

(28:26):
winks and you smile in return.
May the healing light of themoon continue to bless you all

(28:53):
through the night and into yourdreams.
Good night, dear friend.
