I'm grateful to share with youToday we're going to be looking
at signs, symbols andsynchronicities, having
conversations with the universeand learning to develop our own
language in communicating withthe energy around us.

The universe and ourrelationship with it is ever
unfolding and changing.
When we understand that theunseen realms are always
communicating with us, inconversation, we can have these
daily conversations with ourancestors, daily conversations

with our ancestors, with God,with spirit, with our angels,
with our passed-on pets andloved ones, and even with our
master teachers.
And the cool thing is isthere's no one right way to do
this.
Instead, it becomes your ownability to create a language
between yourself and the unseenrealm.
Now, before we begin looking atthe different types of language
(01:34):
that we can create tocommunicate with the universe
around us, I'd like to firsttalk about two caveats that come
to mind, about two caveats thatcome to mind Once we create our
own sacred language with theuniverse.
We also must remember that noteverything that we come in
(01:55):
contact with in our world is asign.
Sometimes life is just aneveryday, practical event of
being, so.
Not everything is a sign.
It's learning to discern whenthose signs come to you and how
they reflect in what you'reasking the universe in
(02:17):
conversation about.
It's important not to overthinkor overanalyze everything in
your environment all the time.
The other caveat is this Do notjust wait on a sign if there's
something that you're wanting totake action about.
Sometimes the universe waitsfor us to take action or take a
(02:42):
step in a direction to revealthe next step to us.
So sometimes the universe iswaiting for us to move in the
direction we're wanting to go.
For example, say we're tryingto decide between two different
paths.
Or say you're in school andyou're trying to decide which
career direction you're wantingto go.
(03:04):
Sometimes the universe needsyou to make a decision before it
can reveal more communicationwith you.
Before we start talking aboutthe different signs or symbols,
I'd like to first read this poemto you by Mechthild of
(03:24):
Magdeburg, who lived in the1200s, and it's a poem about
connecting with spirit, and it'scalled Effortlessly.
Effortlessly, love flows fromGod into man like a bird who
rivers the air without movingher wings.
(03:47):
Thus we move in his world, onein body and soul, though
outwardly separate in form.
As the source strikes the note,humanity sings.
The Holy Spirit is our harpist,and all strings which are
touched in love must sound.
(04:09):
So as we create this languagewith the universe for ourselves,
imagining that we are theinstrument, the harp, and that
spirit is playing thisinstrument that allows us to
connect with the universe aroundus.
(04:31):
And so what I'd like to do, asI name these different ways to
connect with spirit, is bysharing my own experiences and
all the different ways that Ihear from the divine.
The first way I connect with thespirit world is through finding
(04:52):
feathers.
I often find beautiful feathersleft by spirit on my walks, on
my hikes, on my travels, walks,on my hikes, on my travels.
The feathers, for me, are a wayfor me to know that spirit,
that my angels, that myancestors are with me.
(05:14):
Sometimes I can feel connectedto my ancestors, sometimes to my
guardians, depending on when Ifind the feather, what type of
feather it is and if I'd had aquestion on my heart or mind at
the time that the feathercrosses my path.

Many of the times the feathersrepresent just a way for me to
know that the loving presence ofspirit or my ancestors are with
me as I walk my path.
For example, there was oneinstance where I was on a walk
(05:54):
and I was talking with myangelic team because I was
worried about some of my friendsor family and I was feeling
overwhelmed and not sure how Ishould be present and all of a
sudden, one single small whitefeather floated down from the
(06:15):
sky, gently drifting side toside until it hovered in front
of me.
Slowly I reached my hand outand allowed the small white
feather to drift into my handand in that moment I closed my
hand around the feather andthanked my angels for being with
(06:38):
me, for being with my familyand friends and just knowing
that none of us were alone.
And it allowed me to justlisten and be present for those
around me and remember, as Idescribe all these different
ways to connect with the spiritworld, you get to choose how you
(07:02):
want to create your ownlanguage with the universe.
Another way that I connect withthe spirit world and in this
case it tends to be more with myancestors and loved ones who
are passed on is connectingthrough coins.
They might leave coins for mein unusual places that I
(07:27):
wouldn't expect it, just to sayhello and let me know that
they're there.
If you've ever seen the movieGhost with Patrick Swayze and
Demi Moore, you'll remember thatPatrick Swayze's character uses
a penny after he's passed overin order to connect with Demi,
(07:49):
who is still alive, and althoughthe scene is quite dramatic
with the dragging of the pennyacross the floor, okay, okay,
I'm not saying that this exactthing will happen, but the idea
that our passed-on loved onescan use coins as a way of just
(08:10):
saying hello and being presentwith us, we ourselves get to
decide how we want to create ameaningful link between objects
so that the spirit world cantalk to us.
In my own life, I've been doingancestral healing work
energetically with my passed-ongrandfather, ralph, for the last
(08:35):
25 years, sending loving energyof healing in order to help
create some resolution in hissoul.
Out of these last 25 years,it's only been the last five
years as his soul has continuedto heal, expand and awaken.
(08:57):
I've begun to find single dimesrandomly placed in my path along
my day.
So how would I know that it'shim?
Well, there's a link between heand I and the dimes.
So when I was a child, when wewould visit my grandparents, my
(09:19):
grandpa Ralph would hand me oneof those cigar tubes that was
empty and he had filled it withdimes.
So about ten dollars in dimeswould fit inside one of those
cigar tubes.
Then I would take it home andadd it to my piggy bank, because
he and I have that sharedmemory.
(09:41):
Then now, through his healingin his soul body, when he wants
to connect with me and let meknow that he's there for me like
a guardian angel, he's begun toplace dimes at different times
along my path just to let meknow that he's by my side.
(10:01):
And what happens is, because Irecognize that this is a gift
from him, then I acknowledge thegift, I pick up the dime and I
place that specific dime amongthe other ones that he's gifted
to me in a little carry case.
That's special.
That reminds me of thatconnection with him.

Another sign, symbol orsynchronicity that I use to
connect with the spirit realmare license plates on cars,
because nowadays you can havevanity plates and so sometimes
people put specific messages ontheir license plate on their car
(10:46):

So spirit has a way ofsometimes answering me by having
a car pull in front of me thathas a message on it that I'm
needing to see.
Of course, I don't look atevery vanity plate and think it
has a message for me, but if Ihave something in my heart or
mind that I'm trying to discernabout or I'm needing to receive

a message about somebody thatI'm needing to connect with,
spirit has a way of having a carpull in front of me that has a
message that I'm needingsometimes.
Here's a story from my own lifethat reflects that idea of
spirit speaking to me throughvanity plates or license plates.

One of my best friends when Iwas growing up was not a person
so much as a cat.
Her name was Pitter.
I had her from the age of whenI was five as a kitten.
She came into our family andthen she passed when I was 21.
I got to have her companionshipfor 16 years when she passed
(12:00):
away.
Because I connect energeticallyboth with the souls of people
as well as animals, she becameone of my angels and one of my
angel helpers.
I do Reiki sessions andsometimes I do those Reiki
sessions with animals.
Sometimes I'll call in myfriend Pitter, who is on the
(12:24):
other side, to be present withme and with the animals that I'm
sitting in session with.
A few years ago I had a clientwho called me, whose dog was
sick and needed surgery, and soshe called me and asked me if I
would send Reiki, because Reikiyou can do from a distance.
(12:45):
As I sat down to do the Reikisession for my client's dog, I
asked my angel kitty, pitter, toalso be present with me and
with my client's dog.
After I finished doing theReiki session, I got up and I
went to leave the house becauseI needed to drive to the
(13:09):
acupuncture clinic where I wasworking.
On my way to the clinic, as Idrove there, I came to a
stoplight.
I turned the corner to head tothe clinic and a car pulled in
front of me and the car had thevanity or license plate that
said Pitter on it and I was bothsurprised and happy and it let
(13:33):
me know that my angel kitty washelping with this session.
It was also like she wastelling me that she was with my
client's doggy and letting meknow that everything was going
okay.
At the end of the day I heardfrom my client and she told me
that when her doggy was comingout of surgery out of the
(13:56):
anesthesia, that the procedurewent successfully and he was
actually purring, and so thislet me know that the energy of
Pitter was sitting next to herdog during the surgery.
Over time, the more you practiceconnecting with these signs,
(14:17):
symbols and synchronicities, itbecomes a way to discern or hear
what messages are comingthrough, and so it becomes this
practice of being inconversation with the universe.
There's one more sign, symbolor synchronicity I'd like to
(14:37):
share with you in this episode,and it's about picking up on
animals and their telepathicmessages or energetic
connections with us, becauseanimals are super sensitive to
energy and the world around themthat we ourselves can't see
(14:58):
with our eyes.
They are more highly affectedby the energy of things around
them.
So if we ourselves begin to payattention to animal behavior,
then we might be receivingmessages about things that we
ourselves are needing to look at.
I'd like to share thisparticular story from my own
(15:22):
life from a few years ago.
I was living in the heart ofdowntown Tucson in Arizona and I
had a small studio.
I had a neighbor who had twoindoor-outdoor cats.
One kitty was named Andre andhe was an orange tabby.
(15:45):
The other kitty was black andwhite and his name was Sebastian
.
Both kitties would come tovisit me, but it was Andre, the
orange tabby, who formed a bondwith me, so he'd come in and
greet me at the beginning of theday, before I was getting ready
(16:05):
for work, and then, at the endof the day, when I would drive
into the parking lot and get outof the car, he'd often run down
the sidewalk and greet me whenI got home.
And this happened for manyyears.
Over a three-year period, heand I created a bond where we
(16:26):
would take care of and listen toone another.
There would be times even whenmy neighbor across the way would
take a photograph of my frontporch and Andre would be sitting
on the front porch waiting forme to come home for the day.
Now, on one particular Sundayafternoon, I was in my studio
(16:52):
and I was getting dressed to goto a gathering with my friends.
They lived about 20 minutesaway and I was going to be
taking my car to go over totheir house.
After I got ready, I opened thedoor and walked out onto the
sidewalk to go over to my car toget ready to leave the sidewalk
, to go over to my car to getready to leave.
(17:13):
Andre Kitty had greeted me onthe sidewalk, said hello and
then ran ahead of me.
And as he ran ahead of me, Iwas getting closer to my car and
all of a sudden I noticed thatAndre parked himself behind the
back wheel of my car.
(17:34):
So by the time I got to theparking lot, andre was lounging
behind the passenger side backtire.
Okay, so you might be thinking,no big deal, just shoo him away.
Well, he was so far under thecar by the tire and I was on the
pavement that I was trying toreach under to get to him.
(17:58):
And I was shooing him.
It did not phase him, he justsat there very still and
languidly, relaxed, not budging.
I stepped back and looked athim and then I thought well,
I'll try one more time.
(18:18):
So I kneeled down and I talkedto Andre and let him know hey,
I'm getting ready to go over toa party at my friend's house, so
if you could move, that wouldbe great.
He just looked at me, great, hejust looked at me, closed his
(18:39):
eyes slowly and continued toswish his tail and lounge there,
unmoving.
Now, because I know to payattention to animal behavior, I
realized that there was probablya reason, even though I
couldn't see one, of why hedidn't want me to leave.
Even though I couldn't see oneof why he didn't want me to
leave.
So I decided to go off of hiscue and I sat on the curb of the
(19:00):
sidewalk next to my car, nextto Andre who was sitting behind
the tire, and I let him knowthat I would sit with him there
as long as we needed to.
Andre and I sat there insilence together for 10 minutes.
Then, all of a sudden, andregot up, walked over to me,
(19:22):
rubbed on my leg and I touchedhis head and said thank you, and
then he walked off back to hishome.
When he did that, I realized itwas safe for me to leave.
I knew that energetically, hewas probably protecting me from
something that might havehappened if I left right at that
(19:43):
moment.
Of course, here's the thing Iwill never know, because when I
got in my car and drove to myfriend's house, all was well.
So the language of animals canbe a vital part of connecting
with the energy of the universeof spirit.
(20:04):
In the end, each one of us getsthe fun of choosing how we
decide to communicate with theuniverse, as you practice
communicating and building thisbond between yourself and spirit
, you realize that the universeis always speaking with you.
(20:24):
Be still quiet your mind, payattention and allow your
relationship to flow naturallyand, most of all, have fun
creating that connection.

Andre Kitty had greeted me onthe sidewalk, said hello and
then ran ahead of me.
And as he ran ahead of me, Iwas getting closer to my car and
all of a sudden I noticed thatAndre parked himself behind the
back wheel of my car.
(17:34):
So by the time I got to theparking lot, andre was lounging
behind the passenger side backtire.
Okay, so you might be thinking,no big deal, just shoo him away.
Well, he was so far under thecar by the tire and I was on the
pavement that I was trying toreach under to get to him.
(17:58):
And I was shooing him.
It did not phase him, he justsat there very still and
languidly, relaxed, not budging.
I stepped back and looked athim and then I thought well,
I'll try one more time.
(18:18):
So I kneeled down and I talkedto Andre and let him know hey,
I'm getting ready to go over toa party at my friend's house, so
if you could move, that wouldbe great.
He just looked at me, great, hejust looked at me, closed his
(18:39):
eyes slowly and continued toswish his tail and lounge there,
unmoving.
Now, because I know to payattention to animal behavior, I
realized that there was probablya reason, even though I
couldn't see one, of why hedidn't want me to leave.
Even though I couldn't see oneof why he didn't want me to
leave.
So I decided to go off of hiscue and I sat on the curb of the
(19:00):
sidewalk next to my car, nextto Andre who was sitting behind
the tire, and I let him knowthat I would sit with him there
as long as we needed to.
Andre and I sat there insilence together for 10 minutes.
Then, all of a sudden, andregot up, walked over to me,
(19:22):
rubbed on my leg and I touchedhis head and said thank you, and
then he walked off back to hishome.
When he did that, I realized itwas safe for me to leave.
I knew that energetically, hewas probably protecting me from
something that might havehappened if I left right at that
(19:43):
moment.
Of course, here's the thing Iwill never know, because when I
got in my car and drove to myfriend's house, all was well.
So the language of animals canbe a vital part of connecting
with the energy of the universeof spirit.
(20:04):
In the end, each one of us getsthe fun of choosing how we
decide to communicate with theuniverse, as you practice
communicating and building thisbond between yourself and spirit
, you realize that the universeis always speaking with you.
(20:24):
Be still quiet your mind, payattention and allow your
relationship to flow naturallyand, most of all, have fun
creating that connection.
