Have you ever noticed how different you feel on a bright, sunny day compared to a gray, cloudy one? The sun's energy does more than just warm our skin—it can transform our entire being when we learn to work with it intentionally.

The sun has been revered across cultures and throughout time as a sacred symbol of illumination, vitality, and divine presence. This ceremony offers a profound way to connect with solar energy regardless of season or weather, teaching you how to activate your own inner sun whenever you need uplifting.

Whether you're seeking to emerge from a personal winter, navigate challenging transitions, or simply deepen your spiritual practice, this solar invocation ceremony offers a timeless method for reclaiming your inner brightness. Because when we remember how to access and amplify our internal light, we become living embodiments of the sun's most precious gift—the capacity to illuminate darkness wherever we go.

Join us in this sacred practice of awakening the sun within. Your inner light is waiting.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hi, thank you so much for joining me today.
I'm Shannon and this isStarseed Evolution, bringing the
wisdom and insight of thecosmos to you.
I'm grateful that you'relistening, hi, and thank you so

(00:22):
much for joining me today forCeremony Invoking the Sun into
Our Lives.
This was originally recordedduring the summer solstice, but
it is a timeless practice thatyou can do anytime to call
sunlight into your life wheneveryou're needing uplifting.

(00:44):
Thank you so much for joiningme for this ceremony, Looking
forward to our summer solsticeceremony tonight.
And so our first intention isto call ourselves into this
space to be with each other inthis ceremony.

(01:06):
The second intention is that itcalls our higher self, or our
soul self, to be with us intothis ceremony.
The next intention that we call, in the energy of summer
solstice, of honoring thathalfway point between summer and

(01:30):
winter the sun, and bringingthat light so we can call, in
the light of the sun, to be withus and present.
We set our intention to saythat we are grateful for all the
sun offers to us at summersolstice, which is the longest

(01:51):
day of the year.
So it's about bringing lightinto our lives, celebrating what
the light offers to us.
So, to honor the sun, I'vepulled a poem for us from Mary
Oliver.
It's called the Sun.
Have you ever seen anything inyour life more wonderful than

(02:19):
the way the sun every evening, relaxed and easy, floats toward
the horizon and into the cloudsor the hills or the rumpled sea
and is gone?
And how it slides again out ofthe blackness every morning on
the other side of the world, like a red flower on a morning

(02:44):
in early summer, as its perfectimperial distance?
And have you ever felt anythingsuch wild love?
Do you think there is anywhere,in any language, a word
billowing enough for thepleasure that fills you as the
sun reaches out?

(03:04):
It warms you as you stand thereempty-handed.
Or have you turned from thisworld?
Or have you, too, gone crazyfor power, for things?
I like this poem because MaryOliver is asking us to see the

(03:26):
sun not as a commodity but as a,as something that illuminates
and gives us life and all thegifts that it brings to us.
Bringing in that energy of thesun and bringing it into us is
by using our voice to sing amantra that honors the inner sun

(03:47):
, and it's the Gayatri mantra.
What I want you to imagine whenwe sing the Gayatri mantra now
is that the resonation that wecreate with our voice when we
sing creates a vibration orenergy inside of us.
And if you don't sing with me,I want you to imagine that me

(04:08):
singing to you creates that sameenergy or vibration around you.
Because this energy that wecreate with a Gayatri mantra
right now, we're going to bringinto a breathwork practice to
open and activate our solarplexus chakra.
Right after we do the GayatriMantra, I'm going to read it for

(04:32):
us Om Bhur Bhuvah Svaha TatSavitur Varenyam pargo devasya
di mahi diyo yana prachodayat.
May we honor the light from ourconnection with the divine that

(04:53):
in doing so, our inner worldmay be illuminated.
So, imagining that that innersun shines on the inside of us.
And so, before we start singing, what I'm going to have you do
is open your hands and then turnthem, as if you are gathering

(05:17):
the energy of the sun betweenyour hands, and then bringing
them together, collecting allthat energy, and then placing
your hands in Anjali Mudra atyour chest, your sternum, your
heart, and leaving them there, imagining that the energy of the

(05:39):
mantra moves through your hands, arms and into your heart,
illuminating your insides.
I'll have you take a deepbreath in and exhale Om.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Purpu Vasvaha Tat Savitur Varenyam Pargadevasya
Dimahi Diyo Yonaprachodayat OmPurpu Vasvaha Tat Savitur

(06:25):
Varenyam.
Satsang with Mooji OmPrachodayat.
Om.

(06:48):
Om BurbuvasvahaTatsaviturvarenyam Pargodevasya

(07:26):
Dimahi Satsang with Mooji Om OmPrachottayat Om Om Om Bhur

(08:06):
Bhuvah Svaha Tat SaviturVareniyam Bargo Devasya Di Mahi
Diyo Yonaprachodayat Om BhurBhuvah Svaha.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
Now I'll have you take a deep breath in and exhale
, exhale, taking this energyfrom the Gayatri Mantra, the
illumination within.
What I want to do is activateour solar plexus chakra so that

(09:06):
we can mirror the energy of thesun, but inside of ourselves.
And when you activate the solarplexus chakra, it helps all the
other chakras as well, becauseit's right in the center, right
at your solar plexus, and it'sthe color yellow, and so
imagining that it activates allthe other chakras when it is

(09:28):
illuminated or awakened, and sowe're going to do some breathing
into the solar plexus.
So this time, gathering the sunwith your hands.
So imagining that you'rebringing that sunlight between

(09:50):
your hands, but this time you'regoing to take both hands and
you're going to place it rightat your rib cage, where it ends
on that arc between your upperbody and lower body, so right at
the base of the rib cage, whichis where your diaphragm is, at,

(10:16):
which is where the solar plexusis energetically and just
lightly.
Resting your hands here andimagining that energy of the sun
moving through your arms, intoyour hands and into that solar

(10:38):
plexus area.
And what I'm going to have youdo now is close your eyes and
take a deep breath in andimagine, as you inhale, that
your hands expand as you breatheinto your solar plexus and then

(11:07):
exhaling, letting all the airout from the solar plexus, and
another deep breath in andexhale.

(11:28):
And I'm going to have youimagine that you're standing
inside yourself at the solarplexus and it's like you're
standing and looking at thehorizon where the sun rises.

(12:15):
And with each breath that youtake and exhale, that Sun inside
of you, that chakra of the Sungrows brighter and brighter and

(12:38):
you can feel the rays of the Sun.
As your breath deepens, that itbegins to expand throughout
your whole body, filling yourheart and lungs and chest and
chest down into your stomach andlegs and back, until your whole

(13:10):
insides are radiating with thelight of the sun, awakening that
deep connection with your souland that, in the light of the

(13:33):
sun and that connection andvibration that runs through your
whole body, you know that youare part of this beautiful life
and that as the sun inside youfills and expands, it begins to

(13:53):
glow through your skin outward,so that you also shine around
you as bright as the sun.
Just you being here right nowis enough.

(14:24):
You're a light part of thisworld and each time you need to
remember this, you can alwaysplace your hands back here at
the solar plexus and breathe indeeply so that you're reminded

(14:46):
of that sunlight that you createfor yourself and those around
you, and one more deep breath inand exhale, releasing your

(15:12):
hands and opening your eyes andopening your eyes.
So now we're going to take allthat energy that we created
through the Gayatri mantra andthe awakening of the solar

(15:33):
plexus chakra and move it intoour next mantra.
So this is about the gratitudeof connecting with our ancestors
, with the earth, and it'sA-TESH NA-ANA the dew is on the
grass the spirit of the ancients.
We are children of the past.

(15:53):
The one breath that creates usis the one that we all take.
Makes a rainbow around theworld from the love that we all
make.
I'll have you.
Take a deep breath in andexhale.

Speaker 2 (16:14):

Speaker 1 (18:34):
What I want to do now is share a story with us to
honor the sun, and it comes fromthis book, star Stories, and
this one is about GrandmotherSpider and the sun, and this is
from the Cherokee Nation.
In the beginning, when theworld was new, there was only

(19:01):
darkness all around.
Life was difficult for peopleand animals.
It was cold and they weremiserable, forever, bumping into
each other because they couldnot see.
Something had to be done, andin the deep forest the animals
gathered together.
I've heard tell of somethingcalled the sun.

(19:23):
A low voice growled out of thedark.
It was bare.
It gives out light and is warmtoo.
It is kept on the other side ofthe earth, but the people who
guard it are too greedy to share.
Perhaps we could steal a pieceof it.

(19:43):
All the animals nodded theirheads and agreed that this was a
fine idea.
But who would be the one tosteal the sun?
Who would be daring enough?
One by one, a few brave animalsstepped forward, while the
others hid in the woods to watch.
The first to try was Fox,stealthily on soft furred paws.

(20:09):
He crept to the secret placewhere the sun was.
Kept Silent, and still hewaited until no one was watching
.
Kept Silent, and still hewaited until no one was watching
.
Then grabbed a sun in his mouthand started to run for his life
.
But the sun was so hot itscalded Fox's mouth and he
dropped it.
That is why, to this day, allfoxes have black mouths.

(20:34):
The next animal to try was theopossum.
Black mouth.
The next animal to try was theopossum.
Now, in those long ago days, opossums had long, bushy tails.
And so proud opossum sneaked upto the place where unfortunate
fox had dropped the sun and ranback with it, balanced on her

(20:54):
magnificent tail.
But the sun was so hot itscorched all of the hair off of
her tail, just like the fox, andshe dropped it.
That is why, to this day, allopossums have long, bare tails.
Just when the quest seemedhopeless, grandmother Spider
scurried out of the bushes.

(21:15):
Although she was much smallerthan the other animals, she was
clever, can I try?
She asked quietly, and insteadof trying to hold onto the fiery
ball of the sun, she wove afine silk bag from one of her
dew-draped webs.
When she found the sun.

(21:36):
She dropped it into the bag andcarried it without burning
herself.
Everyone began to rejoice.
Yet one important questionremained when would the sun go?
Grandmother Spider had theanswer.
We should put the sun high inthe sky, she said.
That way, everyone will see itand benefit from its light.

(21:59):
It was perfect, agreed.
All the animals, however, try ashard as they could to reach and
leap.
None of them were tall enoughto reach the sky.
Then Buzzard swooped down onits great feathered wings.
I can fly higher than any bird,he said.
I will carry the sun into thesky.

(22:21):
The sun was still blazing eveninside its silk bag, so Buzzard
placed it on top of its head, where its feathers were thickest
.
He began to fly higher andhigher above the clouds.
The higher he flew, the hotterthe sun grew and it began to
burn through all the silk.

(22:42):
Even so, buzzard kept flying upand up and all the feathers on
his head were gone.
Still, he kept flying evenhigher and the skin on his head
became red until finally hereached the very top of the sky
and placed the sun there for allto see.
This is why, to this day, somebuzzards have bald, red heads.

(23:07):
As the sun raised streetsacross the sky like the strands
of grandmother's spider's wovenweb.
The world below was bathed insunlight and warmth.
The animals and people rejoiced, and Buzzard was honored by
bringing light to the sky andcould still be seen circling the

(23:28):
sun today.
I'm going to read a quote, andit's by Martha Graham, and it's
by Martha Graham.
There is a vitality, a lifeforce, an energy, a quickening
that is translated through youinto action.
And because there is only oneof you in all time, this

(23:50):
expression is unique and if youblock it, it will never exist
through any other medium andwill be lost.
The world will not have it.
It is not your business todetermine how good it is or how
valuable, nor how it compareswith others' expressions.

(24:12):
It's your business to keep thechannel open.
So what I want you to do isimagine that all that we've
taken in here the sunlight, theGayatri mantra, the solar plexus
chakra and connecting withearth through the Atesnaana

(24:33):
mantra there's four questionsthat I'm going to do that are
questions of reflection so thatyou can discern within.
So the first question is thiswhat ways can you bring more
light into your life?

(24:55):
And I'll have you take a deepbreath in and exhale.

(25:28):
So the second question is thiswhat ways can you bring more
light into the lives of yourloved ones?

Speaker 3 (26:05):
And I'll have you take a deep breath in and exhale
.

Speaker 1 (26:16):
The third question is this what ways can you bring
more light to the world?
And I'll have you take a deepbreath in and exhale.

(26:57):
So the last question is this.
So the last question is this inwhat ways can you bring light
to the cosmos?
Do you think your energy here,in this moment, it's also

(27:18):
connected to your soul self, your soul self is part and
connected to the cosmos thedivine mystery and connected to
the cosmos, the divine mystery, and so you're also gifting the
stars and the cosmos with thatenergy of light.
In what ways can you bringlight to the cosmos?
And I'll have you take a deepbreath in and exhale.

(28:14):
And so, now that we'vecollected all these reflections
of light inside of ourselves andgifting to others, what I'd
like to do is a short guidedmeditation that leads us into a
space of.
Then I'll do some drumming.
That is a gift from the sun toall of us, and what I'll have

(28:34):
you do now is set your intentionfor the energy that you'd like
to receive during the drumming.

(29:05):
And, for this part, what I'llhave you do is just move into a
relaxed position for themeditation, so you can be either
seated or lying down, and I'mgoing to do some gentle drumming
to guide us into the meditation.
And then, when I become silent,I'll drum a little bit louder.
I'll have you close your eyesand connect with your breath and

(29:29):
just call in your intentioninto your heart.
And I'll have you connect withMother Earth beneath you, just

(29:50):
feeling her energy holding youin this space and as you relax
into her energy, it allows youto let go, just for now, of any

(30:15):
weight that's on your heart ormind.
And now I'll have you imaginethat you're standing in front of
your third eye and there is adoorway leading into your inner

(30:43):
self.
What does that third eyedoorway look like?
Just allow yourself to connectwith it now and I'll have you

(31:10):
reach your hand out and touchthe doorway and as you do, it
transforms into a beautifulindigo doorway of light and you
can feel that light surroundingyou and pulling you in.

(31:34):
And when you're ready, I'llhave you take a deep breath in

(31:55):
and step through that doorway oflight and you find yourself
standing in front of a sacredtemple.
What does that temple look liketo you as you stand in front of
it in this sacred space insideyourself?

(32:17):
Just take this time to connectof it.
It has beautiful expansivevaulted ceiling and light and

(32:59):
air and air.
And as you step inside of it,you feel the insides of you
expand as well and you see thaton the inside of this sacred

(33:32):
temple there is a cushion orchair in the center of it for
you to sit down upon.
Allow yourself to walk over to.

(34:00):
This cushion or chair faces awall.
That is image is on thatstained glass.
So you close your eyes andbegin taking deep breaths into
your solar plexus chakra and asyou do, the sun inside of you

(34:31):
begins to shine.
Your eyes open inside the sacredtemple and as you take the deep
breath in, the sun outside thesacred temple begins to rise
also and as it shines on thatwall of stained glass, it
illuminates the image on thewall.
The stained glass comes to life.

(34:53):
There is a beautiful image ormessage inside the stained glass
that is just for you.
What does it look like?
What does it say?
Allow yourself to connect withthe energy and the beauty of the

(35:17):
message that the sacred templeis gifting to you now.
Thank you, thank you.
So I'll have you take a deepbreath in and exhale and exhale

(37:45):
and just allow yourself to thankthe energy of the sacred temple
for its gift today.
And in your imagination I'llhave you imagine that you stand
up from that seated positioninside the temple towards the

(38:39):
entrance At the doorway.
You see that there's the indigodoorway of light and you stand
in front of that indigo doorwayof light taking a deep breath in
, inhaling the energy of thesacred temple once more.
And then, as you exhale, haveyou step through that indigo
doorway of light and findyourself standing back in front

(39:02):
of your third eye and, in yourimagination, reaching up and
touching that third eye pointand as you do, the doorway
closes, just for now.

(39:23):
And taking a deep breath in andexhaling, and exhaling, and

(39:47):
exhaling, and on the next inhaleyou come back into this time
and place now, in this moment, back into your physical body,

(40:10):
and one more deep breath in andas you exhale, you open your
eyes when you're ready, comingback to this time with me and
our community, and just slowlystretching, waking up your body

(40:47):
To close our time together.
Today I'd like to share thispoem with you.
It was created by one of ourInsight Timer community members
and I'd like to share it withyou now.
Here is Cecilia's poem thegolden finch shines like a flash

(41:10):
of the sun's light as it glidesthrough the air.
Arbitus tree sheds its outerlayer of skin, symbolic of
shedding what no longer servesand embracing the season of
light, while the poppy unfurlsits petals reaching for the sun.
May your inner sun shinebrightly always.

(41:35):
Thank you so much for joiningme for this ceremony.
