Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hi, thank you so much for joining me today.
I'm Shannon and this isStarseed Evolution, bringing the
wisdom and insight of thecosmos to you.
I'm grateful that you'relistening.
In our episode today, I'd liketo share with you about guided

(00:22):
meditation what are they, how Iuse them, why they're helpful in
our lives, and the intention ofguided meditation and its
benefits.
In my day-to-day practice, whenI work with clients in person,
we often find things whetherit's emotional, physical or

(00:47):
psychic that is affecting theirbody or their wellness.
When I studied cranial sacraltherapy, which is working with
the pulse of the cerebral spinalfluid of the body, it helps to
heal or regulate the rest of thenervous system, but its pulse

(01:10):
also helps tell the story ofdifferent things that have
happened to a person over theirlifetime.
It holds these memories thatcirculate throughout the body,
which then affect the cellularsystem as well.
So when I was thinking abouthow can I also affect a change

(01:31):
for someone I've never met inperson, but using my voice, I
discovered that craniosacraltherapy allows you to also
dialogue with the body or themind or the spirit of a person.
So what I decided to do wasintegrate those practices of my

(01:55):
in-person work with my abilityto channel Reiki or energy in
connection with storytelling, which then allows me to use
guided meditation orvisualization to then bring
these healing properties oraspects to online listeners or

(02:16):
online students.
When I teach live events aswell, the guided meditation is a
way for me to bring all thesegifts together.
The reason that I'd like tofocus our episode today on
guided meditation its foundationstructure intention is so that

(02:39):
when, in the future, I postguided meditations in upcoming
episodes, you'll have anunderstanding of my background
and my approach to creatingthese guided journeys and, just
like in any profession, you'llsee that each person that

(02:59):
practices uses their methods indifferent ways.
So today, when I talk about howI create guided meditations and
how they work with individuals, then you'll see how I create
these from my own background, and it may differ from other

(03:20):
teachers that you come intoconnection with.
This doesn't make one teacherbetter than another.
Instead, it's bringing allthese gifts and allowing
individuals to see who theyresonate with and what's helpful
for them on their own journey.
First, I'd like to talk abouthow guided meditations work, or

(03:44):
my interpretation of how they'reworking in how they've helped
me as well in my own life.
A guided visualization allowsyou to go on a journey,
directing your mind, usingimaginary spaces.
By directing your mind, you'regiving your mind a job of focus

(04:07):
and you allow yourself toconnect with your own intuition,
because by using yourimagination, you're accessing
the intuitive part of yoursubconscious that understands
what you're delving into throughthe imagery process.
Also, when you listen to aguided meditation, having

(04:30):
someone else take you on ajourney, it allows your brain to
also let go and allow newpossibilities to arise.
The brain often believes whatit sees.
The brain often believes whatit sees.
So if we give it images on ajourney for a specific intention

(04:51):
, it believes it's on thatjourney and then allows you to
unlock or discover differentparts of yourself that want
healing or just want you tounderstand yourself more deeply,
or just want you to understandyourself more deeply.
So I'd like to share with youhow I create different guided

(05:11):
meditations based on differentintentions that I set.
There are different types ofguided meditations.
For example, we can have guidedjourneys that create relaxation
.
We can have guidedvisualizations that allow us to
decrease the stress within ourbody.

(05:32):
We can use guided journeys forgrounding and connecting with
nature.
We can use guidedvisualizations to connect with
our higher self, our soul selfand its wisdom.
It's always present for us ifwe just ask.
We can use guided visualizationto balance the energy centers,

(05:57):
the chakras of our body.
We can use guided imagery toaccess our self-esteem or
self-worth and help us grow thatself-confidence that we might
be lacking.
So once I decide on a specificintention for a visualization, I

(06:19):
set that intention and write iton a piece of paper and then
move into a place of stillnessto connect with the energy of
that intention that I've set.
I take that intention then intomeditation or stillness to
listen to what wants to come up.

(06:41):
Then, having a journal present,I channel by writing through my
intuition, as it sends meimages or projected pictures
about the journey that allows usto meet that intention.
As I begin to channel theguided journey, I see myself

(07:03):
walking the whole journey andwriting down everything.
Each guided journey alwaysstarts with a pathway or a
doorway into the journey, aswell as a way out of the journey
at the end.
So that allows you to come backto the present moment and bring

(07:24):
that energy, grounding orwisdom that you connected with
during the journey back intoyour physical space with
yourself.
It's important, too, tounderstand that when you take a
guided journey accessing thedifferent parts of your brain
that connect with whateverintention that meditation was

(07:48):
setting, sometimes the effectscan be immediate or the
information that comes forwardfor you can make themselves
known right away.
However, sometimes it can bedays, weeks, even months after
specific journeys that moreinformation reveals itself to

(08:10):
you as you go along your dailylife.
So it's important to understandwhen you take these journeys
that sometimes what getsunlocked may not happen until
later, when your soul feels thatyou're ready to unlock those
parts of yourself.
One of the other things that Ilike to gift during guided

(08:34):
meditations is sometimes I willchannel Reiki energy into the
sessions so that you're alsoreceiving this universal energy
that's coming through.
Depending on if differentguides, master teachers, angels,
fairies, if they come into theguided journey, then sometimes I

(08:56):
can channel that energy to youthrough these recordings as well
.
I always set the intention thatthe energy and the imagery that
comes through is for thehighest good of each person and
what they're able to process inthe moment that they listen to

(09:18):
the meditations.
And if I do channel energy, Iwill always share with you
before I do it so that you knowthat the energy will be coming
through.
The other thing I'd like to sayis that I know that some of you
who come to this podcast orthis episode might be well

(09:41):
experienced in either creatingyour own meditations or going on
guided journeys.
However, I created this so thatit's a foundation for in the
future, when I do share guidedjourneys for those people who
might not be as familiar withthe aspects of what guided

(10:02):
visualizations are.
For Now, here's a mental note tokeep to yourself so that, when
going on a journey, you realizethat guided imagery or
visualization is not meant to beliteral.
It is meant to be a metaphor oran imaginary practice that

(10:28):
actually allows you to accessinformation that is real in your
life.
The journeys themselves are notliteral, so let me give you an
example so you can hear what I'mtalking about.
Let's say that I take you on ajourney and we go into nature

(10:50):
and enter a wooded forest andall of a sudden in the journey,
a bear steps into the forest andcomes towards you.
Let's also say that in theimagery of the journey, I have
you connect with the bear bysitting near a tree, the bear

(11:12):
sitting next to you and youplacing your hand on the bear's
fur.
In this journey we'reconnecting with.
In this journey we'reconnecting with, for example,
let's say, the strength of bear, the mothering aspect of bear,
the fierce connection withnature and having that strength

(11:33):
inside of yourself.
This type of guidedvisualization is often referred
to as part of a shamanic journeyor connecting with the energy
and wisdom of bear in theimaginary world.
By connecting with the spiritof the bear telepathically and

(11:53):
psychically, you can receiveinformation and energy through
the guided imagery.
But remember that I saidenergetically and imagination.
A guided journey is not literal.
So what do I mean by this?
I mean please do not go into areal forest with real trees and

(12:19):
find a real bear and try andtouch it In the real 3D world.
If you attempted to do this, the bear could severely hurt you
.
Remember it's a wild animal.
That's why we connect with thespirit of the bear through the

(12:40):
meditation, through ourimagination, through these
energetic fields of connection.
Our guided meditations allowyou to connect with that energy.
So you're building this psychicbridge so that you can receive
that connection.
Don't be that person who triesto pet the cute little buffalo.

(13:04):
This is a big no-no.
Remember when you are inwildlife territory, all animals
are wild and it's important tokeep your distance with respect,
and that's why connecting withthem through a visualization or
imagination can be a safe way ofconnecting with their energy.

(13:28):
In the guided journeys, I alsolike to add relaxing music
underneath the meditations thatalso help induce the ability to
relax during the journey, inducethe ability to relax during the
journey.
The music is a way to bringforward that energy of
connection with the journey thatwe're taking.

(13:50):
All of the music that I useunderneath the guided
meditations are what's calledroyalty-free music by licensed
musicians that allow you topurchase their music so that you
can create these wonderfulmeditations, and I'm grateful

(14:13):
for the music that they providebecause it brings these journeys
to life.
A couple of sources that I liketo use are Indie Music Box by
Chris Collins.
He has wonderful royalty-freemusic for purchase.
Also, I connect with Blue DotSessions and subscribe so that I

(14:38):
can purchase different types ofmusic to place underneath the
meditations as well.
Now, once you've gone through ameditation, it's a nice practice
then to journal your experience.
Journaling can be anything fromwriting down notes about things

(14:59):
you saw or felt.
Some people have an art journalso they might create art based
on the journey that they took, and this is another way to
journal your experience.
Other people can takephotographs out in nature to
help capture the images of whatthey saw or felt during a

(15:22):
journey.
There's all different ways toconnect with information so that
, once you take the journey, youcan go deeper into listening to
your own self as well.
It's important to understand, too, that because you're going
on a journey and depending onthe intention of it, sometimes

(15:44):
as the healing process happens, then different emotions can come
to the surface.
Allowing yourself to be able toprocess these emotions are
important.
Make sure that after anyjourney, you get plenty of rest,
eat lots of good food thatnourish your body and drink lots

(16:06):
of water.
There's also one other thingthat I would like to talk about.
Sometimes there's an idea thatyou, as the listener, have to be
able to see in your mind thepicture that I'm painting for
you.
This is not true.
I know that some people becauseI've worked with different

(16:29):
students who are not able tonecessarily visualize what I'm
saying.
If you're one of those peoplewho can't picture the things
that I'm saying, even if youhave your mind listening just to
the words that I'm saying, whether you can see them or not,
your body will still be able tohold the journey within itself.

(16:53):
So, just listening to the voiceor the guided journey, hearing
the words, being on the journeyitself, you'll still benefit
from being in this adventuretogether.
As a gift to you today on thisepisode, what I'd like to do is

(17:14):
close with a love note by EECummings, and I'd like to share
his poem with you.
I carry your heart with me.
I carry your heart with me.
I carry it in my heart.
I'm never without it andanywhere I go, you go, my dear,

(17:40):
and whatever is done by only meis your doing, my darling.
I fear no fate, for you are myfate, my sweet.
I want no world for beautiful.
You are my world and it's youare.
Whatever a moon has alwaysmeant and whatever a sun will

(18:03):
always sing, is you.
Here's the deepest secret.
Nobody knows.
Here's the root of the root andthe bud of the bud and the sky
of the sky of a tree called life, which grows higher than soul
can hope or mind can hide.
And this is the wonder that'skeeping the stars apart.

(18:27):
I carry your heart, I carry itin my heart.
Just know, on this journeytogether through life.
Like EE Cummings shares in thispoem, I imagine carrying each of
you in my heart and help youknow that you are part of this

(18:52):
wonderful world of imagination,of beauty, of healing, of
journey.
Wherever you are, may youalways know that you're
surrounded in this love.
Thank you so much for joiningme today.
In this episode we focused onhow and why guided meditation is

(19:15):
important.
Because of that, I bet you canguess that our next episode will
be an actual guided journey, grounding and connecting with
nature.
Remember, you can always catchme live Wednesday nights on
Insight Timer.
I'll see you next time andremember, let the wisdom of the

(19:39):
stars find you wherever you are.
I'm Shannon, this is StarseedEvolution, and I wish you a
beautiful day, namaste.
