Holidays bring with them a lot of joy and togetherness...they also bring headaches, stress, arguments, misunderstanding, binge drinking (my old favorite) and a lot of not so fun things. How do we navigate these waters and get through these times without someone going to the hospital or jail? Do you drink and hide from everyone or do you face the problems and make the best of the situation? My old M.O. was drink myself stupid so that nothing bothers me except for a lack of hard alcohol. Unlike the average person who either deals with the situation the best they can or ignores the problem and faces an incredibly annoying and irritating experience. We all face holidays and general family dynamics in different ways. What is your strategy for dealing with the holidays?
