Speaker 1 (00:06):
Spoiler alert. If you do not want the NFL playoffs
ruined for you, turn off your radio. Turn off this plucket. Actually, don't,
don't turn it off, just turn the volume down because
they still want to get that rating, so still have
it play register, but just turn that volume down because
we are about to spoil the twenty twenty five seasons
(00:29):
NFL playoffs. Al the AI supercomputer is back in studio.
He always makes me very nervous when he's in the
studio because he could just turn on us and take
over the world at any moment.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
But for the time being, he's benevolent.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
He's benevolent for now, for now, and it's too valuable
of a resource to not utilize right now and figure
out who's gonna win these playoffs. Plus, have a bottle
of water right here, so if he does go off
the rail, he's just dump it right. I can just
pull the plug, I can grab I got it right here.
Don't even try to pull the plug. I just don't
even want to cross that bridge where you pull that
plug and he's still on. I don't I would freak hell. Yes,
(01:06):
So let's start on the side of the break. Are
you done?
Speaker 2 (01:11):
I'm just trying to be a performative.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Let's start on the AFC side of the bracket. Okay,
we'll work our way through the AFC. We'll find our
AFC Super Bowl participant, and then we'll go to the
NFC and find our participant there. Let us start in
the two to seven matchup between the Chargers and the Patriots. Al,
who is going to win?
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Winner? Is the New England? All right?
Speaker 1 (01:39):
The Patriots move on in the first round against the
Los Angeles Chargers. Not that my opinion matters compared to
the AI supercomputer AL, but I agree with him on
this one. I think that the Patriots will probably take
out the Chargers. It'll be a close game. I think
Jim Harbaugh keeps it close, right. He's that good of
a coach. He thrives for this kind of moment. I
(02:00):
think Rabes and Drake may get it done in their
first playoff experience together.
Speaker 4 (02:04):
Yeah, I think so too. I just think it may
be in a different matchup. I'd be a little bit
more worried about the Patriots. But where the Chargers are,
it's almost strange. They're the more experienced team, but I
kind of feel like they're they're less playoff reliable.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
That is weird to say that.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
I know.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
I think we still just itg we talk logo with
bad teams. It's logo with good teams too, Like, yeah,
Steelers get that too sometimes. Yeah, people be like, oh,
I can see the Steelers going on a run, except
this year, actually could see the Steelers going on Our
next game, Al is the three seed Jacksonville Jaguars versus
the six seeded Buffalo Bills. Who will win.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Bills?
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Okay, so Al thinks Josh Allen gets the job done
against the Los Angeles Chargers. Well, they don't play the Chargers.
They played the Jacksonville Jaguars. He gets the job done
against them. Buffalo moves on to the second round. They
will play the Denver Broncos. As we have already found out,
the Patriots took for Chargers, so Denver will take on
Buffalo in the playoffs. And boy, I've said all along,
(03:06):
Chris that I don't know if it's possible for Josh
Allen to go into the phone booth and put on
the Cape four straight times to win a Super Bowl,
But damn it, do I want to see it attempted.
And according to Al at least we know one of
those is going to go in the favor of Josh Allen.
He's gonna at least win this opening round game. And
I've always kind of said, you know, Houston's on fire,
(03:27):
but I want to avoid the Bills more so in
the first round of from the Steelers, because I just
don't think Superman loses in round one. I just don't
see it happening.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
I mean, you've talked about, You've laid it out for me.
You opened my eyes to it. How good his stats
are in playoffs and whatever reputation he has and not
getting done in the playoffs is, and certainly not anything
he's done or not performed.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
All right, now, this is the biggest one here, Steelers
versus Texans, Monday night Football. Oh my god, yoh wow.
The crowd is over.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Machines love of Steelers.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
The machines love the Steelers. You have won your first
playoff game, Pittsburgh. I guess you will win your first
playoff game Pittsburgh in just a few days. In over
eight seasons. The drought is over. You beat the Houston Texans.
Al doesn't give us any analysis, He just picks the winners.
But I have to assume that they had a really
(04:19):
good running game the Steelers, as far as an offense
was concerned, they controlled the game that way, and they
got after Stroud. I mean, they just made the Texans
offense completely wither in that game.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
I mean you can. I'm not arguing with Al. I mean,
why would I do that? Why would I possibly create it?
Speaker 1 (04:36):
We love you, Al? Yes, all right, let's go to
the next round in the AFC Buffalo versus the Broncos.
The six seeded Bills go to Denver to take on
the number one seed, the winner of the regular season
in the AFC. Bish, I see it. I could really
(04:57):
see that happening, then rumbling right into the Denver Broncos
Stadium Mile High Stadium and taking out Denver. You know,
last year Denver went to Buffalo in the first round
of the playoffs in the two seven matchup, they got
blasted by the Bills.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
They weren't ready.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
Yet, much better team this year. Now they get them
at home. Would not get blasted by the Bills again?
Out as and tell us the score. But apparently they
are going to lose to the Bills.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
Chris, Yeah, And like I said, the Bills are It's
strange how this is kind of open up for the Bills,
but the same time people don't talk about the Bills,
and you wonder, maybe not the most complete team, but
they it could be there for them, right, It would
be kind of a rock after all the years they
were kind of a favorite these past few years. To
a point, I guess the Chiefs are always there, but
this is the year they're kind of sneakily at the
(05:42):
bottom of the bracket and maybe they could make it through.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
It would be really ironic, right, is that the right word.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (05:47):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
I always misused the word.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
It would just be kind of funny to see them
not win the division, not have to go through the Chiefs,
be the wild card, go on the road, and then
rampage through and win their Super Bowl. Finally, the other
divisional round match up the number two seed Patriots versus
the number four seed Pittsburgh Steelers.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
There we go, Here we go.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Holy crap, Holy crow, Holy crap. We're going to the
ANC Championship Game. Not only that, Chris.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
But what what what.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
We're hosting the ANC Championship Game? Steelers Bills.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Look at her. I didn't even think about it in
the Pittsburgh.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Wow. Wow, hosting an ANC championship game this year? Could
you have thought? Who I'm Paul right now? Who could
have thought? Not look at us?
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Look at us? Not look at us?
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Look at us.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
That means more more, We'll be doing more show. I can't.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
I'm excited now, you know I want to be doing
more Pepper All he's not inviting me, but okay, you.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Know I wanted to. By the way, pep Rally Steelers
Pepper Alley playoff party at Tequila Cowboy five to seven,
hosted by Wes Yuler myself, Rock King. Charlie Batch is
going to be there, Chris Damskill be there. Come on
because you gotta come. You're a fan, right, We'll get
you Coozy. Right, you want to get you Coozy. If
you can do that, get you hook me up, I'll
get you. He got crusis there. Steely mcbeam's gonna be there.
Maybe get your picture with Stealing. You want a picture
with Steely, I can get your picture with Steely. I
know him. He's a great guy. All right, God, we
(07:09):
got that settled, And thank you for walking me into
a plug that I was supposed to do. Chris, you're
a great partner there Steelers in the AFC Championship Game.
I can't believe it. And we're hosting it. So the
Bills were the team I wanted to avoid. Didn't want
to place Josh Allen at all. But I'll take him.
I will sign up in blood right now, Al to
take him in the a f C Championship Game, to
face Josh Allen there.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
Yeah you if you have the MC championship Yeah, yeah,
one more game at Mark Stadium.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
Yeah no, that won't be the case because we're in.
It's a arefu And now's the moment of truth. Does
Aaron Rodgers get the Pittsburgh Steelers to the super Bowl
in his first year? Here?
Speaker 2 (07:51):
These computations come on, Al did all that?
Speaker 1 (07:58):
A right? That's the swift kick in the gut right there.
I don't blame them. I don't blame them. I mean
Alan scares the hell out of me. I mean he
really Other than that game at high Mark to open
the season a few years back, Chris TJ. Watt wrecked it,
Alan just really dominates the Steelers.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Yeah, well he don't means a lot of people.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
True. Yeah, that's very true.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
In the playoffs, unless it's the essentially it's been the case.
So I mean, you can't get mad at all. You
can't get mad. I mean if the Steelers make a
run of the AFC title game. It's been obviously what
nine years since since they made an AFC title game.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Twenty sixteen, right, New England, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
New England Sea, So there you go.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
So what is the that's gott to be the longest
stretch of Steeers have been without an EFC title game.
At this point, the Steelers still lead the despite not
making nine years that the more most AFC title gameing
appearances of any team.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
Well, they're going about to add to that in what
two three weeks time when they get there to face
the Buffalo Bills. Unfortunately, the Bills will be representing the
AFC though in the Super Bowl. So I guess Alan
is going to do the Superman thing at least three
straight times and run through the AFC. You know, as
Al has shown me here with his bracket and how
(09:07):
it's broken down, it is so wide open. And if
the Steelers and the Bills get out of that first
round matchup, the Steelers specifically, it really can't open up
for them.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
They've already beatn New England in the regular season.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
It's really unlikely you'll see Buffalo in the second round.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
Yeah, it would. Yeah, if that happened, you'd be well,
the Chargers would have to win. It would be a
home game at least for the Steelers. The Chargers would
have Chargers wn't have to win. That is kind of
the Yeah, I don't expect that to happen, but yeah,
I don't know. It's the matchup with Jacksonville would be scary,
as I put him as the two seed, but Jacksonville
wouldnt wouldn't be there, at least.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
They would not.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
So who will they be meeting? The Buffalo Bills in
the Super Bowl? On the NFC side, the number two
Chicago Bears versus the number seven seed Green Bay Packers. Okay,
so they're able to exercise their demons. They're able to
(10:02):
finally punch back at big Brother in a game that
really matters as far as their rivalry series is concerned.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
So it's Dampsey against Offermen and the Robots.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
It's like, uh, you think the Packers are gonna win?
Speaker 2 (10:14):
No, I just think you're right. I don't Okay, I'm sorry,
But and the Bear you love the Bears. I've always
been down on the Bears all season.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
But you don't buy into the Packers. I don't. Yeah,
I'm telling you, if the Packers were going to Philly,
if the Packers were maybe not Carolina, but if the
Packers were going to Philly, it would be like slam
dunk over see you later, Green Bay lights out. And
that's how I should feel about the Bears. Because the
Bears beat the Eagles. The Bears, you could argue, are
better than the Eagles. I mean literally, they're the two seed.
But it's that mystique that I can't get over. But
(10:43):
that's the human side of me, right, that's why we
have a right that he takes the human element out
of it and just says Bears they're a better team.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
The series of ones and zeros, binary thinking, and that's
that's what he came up with.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
Yeah, absolutely, all right, number three versus number six. This
is the game of the first round as far as
I'm concerned, the Eagles and the forty nine ers. Al,
who do you have? Oh damn it? Okay, hold on,
this happened last night too. I just hold on. An
did adjust him real quick? Damn it? Al ties to Okay,
(11:26):
what are you doing to listen? I'm the one who
owns Al. I'm the one who takes care of Al.
I know when he needs to be beat up and
he needs to be set back in the place. I'm
like that Russian cosmonaut in arm again. You just got
to bang him around a couple of times with this
wrench and he should be good. All right. A witness
who is gonna win Niners and Eagles.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
Winner is the Philadelphia There you go.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
I fixed it, and he picked the Eagles to beat
the Niners. Four and a half points spread in this one.
That's a pretty steep spread as far as I'm concerned.
I take the Niners with the points, but I take
the Eagles win and buy a field goal.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
Yeah, that's probably that's where I'd go with it too.
I'm surprised that you're giving me that. I mean, the
forty nine ers thing. They certainly didn't bathe themselves in
glory offensively and their their final regular season finale there,
and they made the path a lot lot harder because
of it. So I don't know where they're out that way.
They're facing aother good defense. But at the same time,
give me this four and a half points.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
I'll take them Panthers and Rams the four to five
matchup in the first round. The Panthers just beat the
Rams in Carolina a few weeks back. Al, did you
take that into consideration? I bet you did.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
When there is a Los Angeles.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
He took it into consideration and he threw it out.
He threw it right back in my face and said,
I don't care about that. So he's picking the Rams
to beat the Panthers in round one and move on.
The Rams need this badly because they are playing terrible
football right now. Enter Carolina, the weakest team in the
playoff field. Maybe a rare, get right game that presents
itself in a wild card round of the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (13:00):
Wow wow, he put those terms. You're really disrespecting the
Panthers in that way. But it might you would like
to see because I mean, I think still the Rams
might have the best roster top to bottom in the NFL.
So if they show if they showed me something on Saturday, yes,
and blow out the Panthers, maybe they're back to be
in my super Bowl favorite.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
The second round, the divisional round for the NFC Seattle
one seed versus their division rival the five seed l
A Rams.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Was a right game.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
I want this matchup. To put it this way, if
I don't get either Rams Seahawks or Niner Seahawks in
this playoff, if I don't get one rubber match out
of those games, I'm gonna be severely disappointed. That's the
best division in football. You could argue, maybe not anymore
with other Rams are playing, but you could still argue it.
Those are the three best teams maybe overall in football.
(13:55):
Rams in Seattle have played epic classic at games this year.
I want to see number three and I would not
be surprised if the Rams go to Seattle and win.
And by the way, according to al both one Seeds
go down first time they play.
Speaker 4 (14:09):
Want and done that I was, and there are There
certainly is a scenario where you could have three of
the final four the NFC West, right that that would
be something that you can't get all obviously can't get
all four. You're gonna you're gonna have an af NFC
Nord team in the UH in the final four of
the conference, for sure. So and it could it could
be and that I mean, that's been the best division
of football all season long, or at least, you know,
(14:30):
in terms of a top three and going to the
fact that all three of them were alive for the
one seed until the till what six days left in
the season, so you could see the forty nine Ers
Rams and kind of in Seahawks almost play a kind
of a round robin there in the NFC. It's possible,
although we're not because I'll said the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
So right exactly, the Eagles already took care of the Niners,
and now the Eagles have to face the Bears a
rematch there, except this time it's going to Soldier Field
where it was at the Link on Black Friday when
the Bears went into Philadelphia and a huge statement by
beating the Eagles, will they sweep the Eagles this year
and go to and zer against.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
Them when there is the Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
So the Eagles give a little humble pie to the Bears.
They say, you guys are ascending. You guys are probably
going to get there in the future, in the near
future maybe, but the champs have a little bit more
to say as far as this playoff is concerned. So
defense probably carries the day for the Eagles. They go
on the road and they beat the Bears and Soldier Field,
and they returned to the NFC Championship Game for what
(15:33):
would be the third straight season there. Remember they lose
to the Niners the year prior to beating the Chiefs
in the Super Bowl in the A in the NFC
Championship Game.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
Wow, okay, so they would have played. They've been in
the Yeah, they've been there a lot.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
They were four straight NFC now that I'm thinking back, and.
Speaker 4 (15:49):
They haven't because they're I think they were in the
Super Bowl two of the last three years. But in
the middle there they tanked on the stretch and lost
in the first round to the Bucks.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
Yeah, right now, I don't know. I'll look at it
you who cares. I can look it up for you
either way.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
Eagles in the NFC Championship Game. Yes, taking on the Rams.
This was the best matchup of the playoffs last year.
This was the best chance. It was the Bucks. I
was right, Holy crap, Baker, this was the best chance
to dethrone the Eagles last year. I guess they weren't
on the thrown yet. So the best chance to stop
them from getting to the Super Bowl last year was
(16:24):
the Rams game in Philadelphia. It was, So this is
kind of a cool rematch that Al is telling us
that we're going to get in the NFC Championship game.
Now this year five seed rams, three seed Eagles. Who's
meeting the Bills in the Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
Philadelphia?
Speaker 1 (16:40):
Oh boy, the Eagles are going all the way back.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
So if you go by the conference championships, the seedings
are three, four, five, six. No, not a one or
two made it from the into a title game.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
And you know what, Al, that makes a lot of
sense because this has been dubbed as one of the
most wide open years that we've had in a while.
So why not have all these different seeds kind of meeting, right?
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Yeah? And I wouldn't. Yeah, Ali make a lot of sense.
And I'm not just kissing up to him so he
doesn't destroy me.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Eagles use their defense get back to the super Bowl.
They face the Buffalo Bills Philly, Buffalo. Who wins? We're
about to find out who the super Bowl champion is.
Oh Josh Allen. Josh Allen gets it done this year,
all time great status, achieved Hall of Fame. I mean
(17:28):
he's already going, but just locked even more.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
I said a vision of the epic parade in Buffalo,
Orchard wherever they would do it at because I imagine
those fans would come out.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
I can't imagine parade.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
You imagine what that would look like up there.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
Well, Buffalo fans, it's been spoiled for you. You're gonna
win the super Bowl. But enjoy the ride anyway. I mean,
the journey is what really matters. The destination is whatever.
We already know we're getting there. But enjoy the journey,
Buffalo over the Eagles. Steelers fans, though, how the super
computer just said you're going to the AFC freaking Championship game.
I will take that. When Chris and I come back,
(18:00):
we're gonna jump on the college couch for a little bit.
We got a big semifinal game tonight, and touch a
little bit more on Houston Steelers. That's next on the
Steelers Blitz on Stewers Nation Radio, part of the Steelers
Audio Network.
