Speaker 1 (00:17):
He's the Steelers Glitz swim Wesley Muler and are your
votes on your twenty four.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
To seven home of the Black and gold skin r
vital segment of the Steelers Glitz Here on a Thursday
in the month of May. All right, we made the
May the fourth jokes. We referenced Sinko to maya tomorrow.
There's still one more thing, you know, Mozi, Sometimes you
just help yourself out, you know, I do this goofy
like half sing things like I kind of just did
(00:44):
right there. Yes, well, that reminded me, of course, of
in the famous words of Justin Timberlake, it's gonna be May.
Oh wow. We gotta get all that. We gotta get
all the corny made jokes out. It's just true. Don't
don't hold it against me.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
I like it.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
Come on, I'll allow it. Whipping around the AFC North
here as we are taking a look at what the
Steelers foes did over the past week or so, some
of the additions that the Bengals, the Brands, and the
Balti Baltimore, the Cincinnati Bengals made as well. Let's talk
about those Bengals right now, Mozi. The Bengals did what
(01:21):
they do on draft day. They keep all their draft picks.
They don't move. They pick first round, SECD round, third round,
fourth around, fifth round, sixth round, seventh round, their comp pick.
It's funny to me like they've done a very good
job for themselves on draft Day lately, and particularly with
Joe Burrow and with Jamar Chase. But it's funny like
they are very They keep their draft picks, they don't move,
(01:43):
they stay where they are. They select guys, and the
first one they took Miles Murphy. Speaking of Clemson guys
that we had discussed. Much like Trenton Simpson, Miles Murphy
was another one edge rusher out of Clemson twenty eighth overall.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
I like that pick a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
Actually I do too, because you think he's like you
think he's You think they'll keep him on the edge,
or you think they might try and move him around
a little bit. I think they'll move him around.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
But I think he's their third guy though right now
that's a yeah, because you got Trey Hendry and Sam Hubbert.
Sam Hubbard needed that third guy very similar dress. When
you think about you know, TJ and Alex, we saw
what happens when one goes down, so we brought in Nick,
you know, a little Nick hurt. So when I think
of the Bengals, they think of how they have their
two guys. But if one goes down, or if anything,
(02:26):
you want to keep it fresh.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Obviously contracts coming up as well, you want to bring
another guy in.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Miles definitely brings you that.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
I agree with you. He's a good player, man, he
is a good player. Twenty eighth overall. Again, another one
of those guys that oh man, that guy would look
nice and black and gold. I tell you there was
a theme of this draft for the Bengals, Mozie all right,
and I'm gonna tell you what it is here right now.
DJ Turner was their second round pick, sixtieth overall out
of cornerback out of Michigan, and then uh third bround
(02:55):
pick ninety fifth overall. They also stay in the secondary.
They take Jordan Battle, the safety out of Alabama, so
much like the Steelers, they go big school guys as well,
to Clemson, Michigan, Alabama. That's not the theme that I
was talking about, though. Here's the theme, Mozi. A few
years ago, right three four years ago, the Bengals loaded
up on offense, with their with their high draft picks.
They took Jonah Williams, they took Joe Burrow, they took
(03:16):
Jamar Chase, right, they took some more. They took Kee Higgins,
they took wide receivers, they took offensive linemen, they took
their quarterback. They loaded up on I mean even Joe
Mixon was a second round pick as well too. They
loaded up on offense with a lot of young, you know,
good players, but cheap players, you know, inexpensive players, and
then they spent a lot on free agency and defense.
(03:39):
Well they've lost a little bit on defense. Now they're
gonna have to pay start paying those guys on offense. Yeah,
so it's like you can see the pendulum swinging back
the other way for the Bengals hid to go where
they used to have a young, inexpensive offense and they
spent their money on the defensive side of the ball.
Now it's kind of flipping back where they're going to
have to pay Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase and these
guys soon. So now they're loading up on younger, inexpensive
(04:03):
guys on defense. All three of their first picks defensive guys.
Miles Murphy the edge out of Clemson. DJ Turner the
corner out of Michigan, Jordan Battle the safety out of Alabama.
And we obviously know as well too with their losses,
like they needed to replenish in the secondary as.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Well, without a doubt, man, And I mean they did that.
DJ Turner really good player as well.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Man. I thought he went a little bit higher. Same.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
He has intiangibles in terms of athleticism, cat like quick
as I love his long speed. I like his overall
footwork as well. I just thought that technique wise, he
has to.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Get more refined.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
That was one of the things that I thought separated
him from You talk about your Devin with a spoons
and gonzaz Is your reporter juniors. I thought they were
more fundamentally sound, even Forbes and Banks, I did. But
but Dj May's still really really good guy.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Man.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
It's just going to be interesting to see how that
how he adjusts to this level in terms of down
the grass he gets he gets handsy, sure, which is
cool college wise, but that's one of the things that
is gonna be a little bit different for him at
this level. But Jordan Battle, I mean, come on, now,
we all were talking about Jordan Batt. Yes, it was
a really good player.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
He was one of the guys we talked about absolutely
Steelers Wayne.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
When when Terro Edmonds signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, he
was the guy. It was like, Man, if we're looking
for a legitimate replacement, a younger guy that fits his mold,
it was Jordan Battle. So the fact that he goes
over to the Cincinnati Bengals, I know, I obviously don't
like him anymore, so.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
Se bates replacement. My evaluation is off.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
I think he's a really really seventh you know, they
definitely overreached for him.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Yep, yep, I'm gonna go with that. Funny you funny.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
They had a couple of wide receivers Charlie Jones out
of Purdue.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
And they're good.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Yeah. I like him as well too. Charlie is a
nice He's got some he he's got some upside to
his to his game, I think, particularly for a fourth
round guy like he's running out their ability, high generate separation, runs,
really good rolls, nice strong hands.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
Catcher transferred into Purdue this year, so this I think
was his first year there. But yes, I mean thousand
yard receiver production out the Wazoo, like really good.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Player, Chase Brown, running back out of Illinois, Big school
you know, big school, big conference guys, Clemson, Michigan, Alabama, Purdue, Illinois,
wide receiver out of Princeton as I mentioned, as well
to two wide receivers, they took a punter. That's another
Bengals thing to do right, spend spend draft picks on
special teams pretty consistently, and I know the Steelers have
done that at times as well too. Presley Harvin was
(06:40):
a seventh round draft pick. But the Bengals do it
more often than most. I think Brad Robbins out of
Michigan and then another cornerback as well to dj Ivory
DJ College out of Miami, dj Ivory, the corner out
of out of the U. Those are the selections there
for the bungle out of Cincinnati. That leaves one, uh
(07:04):
last and a lot of times least. I'm sorry, Can
I say that was that mean? Was that? It did
kind of feel like it? But you know I did it.
The Cleveland Browns, uh not with a ton of draft capital,
no first or second round picks, as they are still
paying off the rants. They're paying off their loans for
Deshaun Watson.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
I mean that's a part of the business, you know.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
You know, they they maxed out the credit card. They
maxed up the credit card. So we're gonna see if
that car can drive.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
That's exactly, you know, that's exactly the carving a little yankee.
That car better be able to drive or else signed
out what you know what they say that when that
car is sitting for a while, yeh man, you got
let's take a little long natty year.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Now.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
I'm gonna see if he's really going one woman now.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
So a pair of third round picks. Cedric Tillman, wide
receiver out of Tennessee, good player. I don't like this.
I mean, I like this pick for Cleveland. I didn't
like to see them make this pick. I know Jalen
Hyatt was It's funny. I mean, they were drafted pretty
close to each other. He was the Blittanikoff Award winner
last year at Tennessee. He was the one who scored
five touchdowns. I think it was against Alabama. He was
(08:10):
the one who put up the crazy numbers. Obviously, he
won the award for best wide receiver in college football.
But if you watched Tennessee play last year. You go
back and watch their tape. Cedric Tilman, I think kind
of flew under the radar and I think might even
have more upside than Jalen Hyatt. He's just a fantastic
route runner who has a great ability to get separation
(08:33):
that I don't think they were always scheming up for him,
if that makes sense, because Jalen Hylott high Itt was
the number one guy. I really like both of them,
and I think they're gonna be good wide receivers in
the NFL. But I again, I like that pick for
the Browns because I think getting him there in the
third round is great value. I think he's one of
those guys we could look back in a couple of
years and say, man, you know, they were really a
handful of wide receivers picked before him. But seventy fourth
(08:54):
overall Cedric Tilman wide receiver out of Tennessee. Arthur motes.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
In comparison into a Jalen high Jalen High more of
a just vertical threat.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Vertical threat yes, or Shawn.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
Jackson type head getting junior type, you know, really good
at what they do, Mike Wallace type, but very limited
in terms of being able to impact the game multiple ways.
When you talk about Cedric, Cedric is a more well
rounded route runner. His ability to run the route tree,
(09:27):
it's just at a higher level than Jalen. Difference is
Jalen just fast, Like Jalen plays extremely fast and that
is why you know he went where he went because
he killed speed scared.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
I don't yeah, I don't want to downplay that. It's
certainly important.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
Yeah, but Cedric Man is definitely one of those guys
man that almost like Mark Cooper type man. You talk
about Mark Cooper like he has the top and speed,
but he isn't a really good route runner like that
create separation. I think for Cedric Man it makes sense.
You know, you want to guy that's gonna be able
to create separation and run really good rout especially for
a quarterback that's coming, you know, still working his way
(10:01):
back from his situation. So yeah, correct his situation.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
Siaki Aika another guy that we discussed. I mean to
be fair, we have months to discuss. You know, we
do radio show throughout the off season, so we do
end up discussing most of these guys because that's what
we got to do to fill content and kill time.
Baby true a defensive tackle, big boy out of Baylor Mozi.
It's funny I think about him kind of in the
(10:26):
same vein of when we were talking about the mullet
earlier on. In the position of fullback. Ike is one
of those guys. If it was fifteen years ago, he
would have probably been He would have probably been a
top thirty pick just because the body frame that he
has in the position that he plays. But he is
a tree. He's a nose, I mean, and we know
(10:47):
what those are in the NFL. There's not a lot
of guys that kind of don't have the versatility like
he does not have much versatility.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
He's when you say, no's being Casey Hampton, ladies and gentlemen.
I think Vinez Willfolk like correct. He is a true
t is.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
He is a true, true nose. And again, fifteen years
ago you had a lot more of those in the NFL.
Now you better be Casey Hampton or Evince will Fork
if you're gonna play that role. I like Ika because
again I think his body type, you can't coach that.
So there's there's there's at least a baseline of what
he has. And I another big twelve guy coming out
(11:25):
of Baylor. I do think he's a good player. He
played well against w VU last year game with the
Mountaineers one, no big talk about it, and listen, we
didn't win in many lately, all right, I at least
got to give it a shout out when we don't.
Uh he goes Ika goes ninety eighth. Overall, Mozi, do
you like? I don't know. How do you do you
think there's a possible fit with him in that defense?
Speaker 1 (11:45):
To me, I feel like there's the potential, mainly because
this is the AFC North and who are you playing
in the AFC?
Speaker 2 (11:51):
Nor team like to run the football?
Speaker 1 (11:53):
Is they traditional like to run the football?
Speaker 2 (11:55):
Pittsburgh stal Is.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
We've seen what we've done last year and more importantly,
how we just drafted and implemented free agency, So we're
gonna try to run the football. Cincinnati Bengals, Yes, they
have a Jamar Chase, the T Higgins and a Tyler Boyd,
but who do they hand the ball off to Joe Nixon?
Speaker 2 (12:12):
Yep?
Speaker 1 (12:13):
So to me, I think the Sciaki I could pick
up isn't necessarily to keep up with the league as
a whole, but I think it's more so to offset
your division and stay here. Because the Kansaity Chiefs, they're
another team. Everybody talks about their passing attack, but we
saw they run the ball Aslute Jenco absolutely and we
know the Philadelphia Eagles model. Even when you're talking they
want to run side San franc SCOO forty nine, how
(12:35):
they want to run the football. So when we're talking
about the teams that really have success, the Buffalo Bills
are trying to do what now figure.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Out how.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
That is the recipe. I mean, we love quarterbacks and
rightfully so, but you have to go to run the
football in.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
Particularly in January when the weather's nasty and on the
flip side, yep.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
And to me, I think Siaki Aika is the guy
that they want to potentially, you know, take on that task.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
He's got the frame for it. We'll see if if
they can polish up some of the skill sets. Certainly
a lot to work with there. Uh So, two third
round picks, two fourth round picks for the Browns as well.
To Dewan Jones is a guy that we that you
that we discussed out of Ohio State to tackle. He
was one of those Okay, if the Steelers don't go
tackle early, you know, and they wait till day two
or they wait till the fourth round. One of the
(13:24):
possibilities that was mentioned was Dewan Jones out of Ohio State.
You know, a guy who doesn't have the I think
you know, uh, the PROGERC. Jones expectations of walking in
and being that dude and competing on day one. But
an interesting project there in Dewan Jones, certainly some upside.
Also Isaiah Maguire edge rusher out of Missouri, Missouri. Sure,
(13:48):
uh and then listen, you know, people say I'm a
hater all the time. They also took a quarterback out
of U. C. L A, Dorian Thompson Robinson. You definitely
hate him now, Pitt fans will love this guy. He
threw like seven interceptions. Okay, I think it was actually four.
I mean it was still a big number. But Dorian
Thompson Robinson, the quarterback out of U. C. L A
who beat in the sunball and they picked them off.
I do think it was four times. So Pitt fans
(14:09):
are like that one. See, I'm not always nice. I
can bring up pleasant memory or I'm not always mean.
I could be nice. I can bring up pleasant memories.
Caaren Mitchell Corner out of Northwestern Luke Whippler Center out
of Ohio State, another all big school guy draft here
in the AFC. That guy's getting some love, Arthur. Then listen,
No Meg barely in the FCS.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
It's like that sometimes.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
I guess you know what, I think it is too
this this fifty year and fifty year COVID that we
were talking about earlier COVID seniors, A lot of those
guys in their final year or two transferred to big
power five programs.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
Now this they didn't work off for this particular guy,
but prime example Wesley McCormick.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
He starts in you guys secondary for West Virginia.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
But he was a great absolutely for your starter GMU.
It's a great all conference guy, part of a team
that went to the National Chiechampionship. You know what, Like
you talk about, you transfer up because you have this
ability now between the COVID year, between the transfer portal
and NILS, it does allow for that. So yeah, I
don't think it's necessarily a full on slight towards SCS
(15:14):
or even I know Prime Time or Deon Sanders that
made the comments about the HBCUs and.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
That happening anyone drafted.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
Yeah, a lot of players transfer, and that's just the
nature of it. It's become a part of college free
agency sort of speA.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
Especially when you don't have to sit out a year. Right.
Speaker 1 (15:32):
But that's that's the evolution of where we're at right
now at college sports. I mean, we're not just in football.
You said in basketball, women's basketball.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
Bob Hunkins brought in an entirely new starting five this offseason. Yeah,
five new guys in the portal, all right, And then
that's just listen, we I think a lot of us
that grew up loving college sports, we don't necessarily love
how crazy it's becoming that we like to watching guys
come to our program and you get to watch them
for three, four, five years and root for them the
whole way. But Moti's right, that toothpaste ain't going back
(16:02):
into the tube. That's that's happened. That's the way she
goes right now happens. I mean women's college basketball, we
got super teams for it.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
I mean we really just saw Haley Vanley just to transfer.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
She went from she went from a little bit whatever was.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
This an elite eighteen and said, Okay, I'm gonna go
to LSU play.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
With Angel Reese. I'm gonna go play with him down LSU.
Give me Kim milk in him. I say, whoa she
just little Kevin Durant.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
I tell you what it's all, the Kaitlin Clark offace.
It's at Kaitland Clark's.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
Crazy in college sports right now. It is. But yeah,
a lot of big school guys, a lot of fifth
year seniors, a lot of sixth year seniors. I told
you throughout the year. That was the secret sauce for TCU.
Last year was TCU give me the grown ups their
entire start, like all their starters were twenty three and
twenty four years old. Give me the grown ups. And yeah,
Oklahoma and Texas and Michigan might be more talented, but
(16:53):
they're playing. They're playing nineteen and twenty year olds. Now
when you're running too, Georgia, it didn't matter, but you
can get away with it for a while.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
Georgia ages and dog years.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
Okay, no pun.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
Intending like a third year old on here man like
he's a training assassin.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
Mozie, before we get out of here. I teased it
at the end of last segment. It's the conundrum that
I'm having in the past week with two things that
I have noticed since the NFL Draft has finished, as
they relate to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Can I lay this
down for you listen? Okay, wouldn't you agree with me?
That the majority of people have like the Steelers draft
(17:29):
and what they did omar Con and company did on Thursday, Friday,
and Saturday has been pretty widely regarded around NFL circles,
NFL media, whatever, that the Steelers did a pretty good job,
that they had a pretty likable draft class, and they've
gotten a lot of a's and a pluses and good
grades on what the what they were able to do.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
One might say they got better, pretty crisis approach. I
think that's a consensus opinion largely is that they guy.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
Better everybody that I've seen from the old school talent evaluators,
new school analytics people, the haters and the love the
haters and the lovers, the media, the fan bases like
the Steelers are kind of at the top of everybody's list.
Again A grades, one of the winners of the draft,
all these things, and that has been pretty consensus. So
(18:21):
when I look at that, and I see, you know,
the Steelers finished last year playing good football down the stretch,
optimism with Kenny Pickett going into year two with some experience. Now,
they added a lot of pieces in free agency. They
had a really nice draft. Again, I think all these
things are, you know, are agreed on pretty widely. I'm
looking now at the of course way too early twenty
(18:42):
twenty three power rankings as well too, But no matter
where you look.
Speaker 4 (18:46):
Really too early now, it's never too early, right, NFL
dot Com, CBS, ESPN, Pro Football Focus, anybody who does
these type of things, they've all got the Steelers in
their power rankings in the late teens in the some
saying the Steelers will be picking in the top ten
next year. The disrespect the same outlets who are giving
(19:07):
Steelers love for how they've operated throughout the offseason.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
Muncy, where's the disconnect for me? Is it that maybe
they're not putting as much stock into the Steelers finish
last year as we are. Is it that this draft
stuff is just lip service and they're really not putting
as much stock into that. But how can a lot
of these same outlets be saying that the Steelers have
crushed at this offseason, but telling me that the Steelers
are gonna have a top ten pick and then you know,
(19:31):
finishing the bottom ten teams in the league next year.
Where's the disconnect?
Speaker 1 (19:35):
Partner man to me, I see it one of two ways.
You brought up a good point where you said maybe
they don't put as much stock into the finish of
the season, like how we do. A lot of times
when you talking from a national perspective, they are not
as closely involved, They don't have the intimate understanding and
(19:55):
nows that we do. They are more so they catch
on after the fact where they go with the trend,
as we saw when people talk about Kenny Pickett now
versus when they were talking about him during that end
of the season stretch where we would highlight this is growth,
this is improvement, and people couldn't see it. And now
they're like, oh, yeah, you sell Kenny Picket finished the
season like look at it. They did great, and we're like, yeah, Doey,
(20:16):
like we told you that should I right escape, you know,
like Baltimore smokes man like thanks for catching up to
the party.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
Welcome to the party, Pound, Welcome to the party, Pou.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
But when I think of why people or why certain
media outlets could still not want to show us the
respect but still acknowledge the fact that we did have
a really good draft is if they still have questions
with Kenny, Kenny or Mad Canada, the team is going
to go as they go. If you look on paper,
we are loaded everywhere. The big question mark is quarterback.
(20:49):
I think if you're a person that acknowledges the growth
that Kenny had, acknowledged the steps that he has it
we feel ob seen me, and you feel this way
that he's going to continue to take those steps, then
you would feel very optimistic about this team's potential next season.
And the powering is that we would probably say would
reflect that. Whereas if you're not as optimistic about Kennedy,
(21:12):
maybe you're a little bit doubt back, maybe you're a
little more neutral, or you're a little bit more pessimistic
about him, then you're gonna look at this team and say,
it doesn't matter how many really good receivers you have
and how good your offense line is and your tight
ends and your running game is. No matter how good
your defense is and your special teams, you got a
quarterback that's going to turn the ball, or you got
a quarterback that's not going to be able to stretch
(21:32):
the fill. You had a quarterback that's not going to
be able to lead these guys down the stretch. If
that's the case, then yeah, you're gonna say that they're
gonna win some games in spite of them, but ultimately
he is going to you know, cost them on the stretch.
And I can understand if that's their perspective. So I
think it's more of that per se that makes sense.
But because of what we've already seen and because of
(21:55):
us being in this business, we know if you're going
to make a ranking and you're going to talk on
other team, see your bed and doing it, because this
is what.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
Happens, people are keeping received.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
You know, absolutely you believe it is you say something
because always seemed cool in the moment, but you really
didn't go back and watch that tape. You really don't
have that intimate understanding. That is how you put yourself
in a compromised position.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
Man. That makes a lot of sense. And you know,
I think too, Just to add one more to that,
I think a lot of people are you know, the
meme of the guy who's like holding hands with a
girl and he's looking over his shoulder at another girl.
You know, hey, I caught that trouble absolutely loo. I
think a lot of people are doing that right now
with the rest of the AFC. Like there's a lot
(22:40):
of conversation about how loaded the AFC is, and you
mentioned that quarterback you know, angle of it, which is
always a big part too. Particularly in the wake of
Aaron Rodgers coming to the conference. You got a couple
teams like the Texans and the Colts that added top
five draft picks at the position. I mean, I think
you and I had this conversation a couple of weeks ago.
I mean, if you take the rookies out of the
(23:01):
AFC equation right now, take so take take, take Stroud
and take or sorry yeah yeah, take Stroud and take
and take Anthony Richardson and even Will Levis. You know
what I mean, who's in Tennessee is a rookie even
though he was the second round or he'ld be in
this conversation too. But let's say Ryan Tannehill actually, for
the purpose of this exercise, I mean, your bottom of
the barrel AFC quarterbacks might be Ryan Tannehill and Jimmy
(23:23):
Garoppolo if you hower rank him right now, and if
Ryan Tannehill and Jimmy Garoppolo are the worst non rookie
quarterbacks in your conference, that's a pretty solid quarterback play.
So I think that's part of it too. People are
doing that ranking and they're going the Homes and Allen
and Burrow and Aaron Rodgers, and they're not writing off
Russell Wilson and you've got Herbert and you've got to
(23:46):
and you know, like.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
And that is always funny to me as well, We're
not gonna write over Lawrence.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
We're not gonna rite over us.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
We just want to play a whole season of bad football.
But we're not writing enough. It's gonna bounce right back.
I'm just like, man, this is any other player.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
You're not saying any of that.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
But I get it. I get it.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
I think the Sean Payton angle gives him a little
bit more of a like I said, I get it,
I get it, I get it. I'm doing that thing, yeah,
because you're just doing the same thing.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
Oh yeah, Sean Payton here, now, I get it. I
get it.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
You Well, if anybody who's listening to the history of
this show knows anything. It's that I'm a Sean Payton lover.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
And die hard Russ guy as well.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
That's like saying Arthur Motes is a big William and
Mary fan.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
I mean, I've heard that you have a Carson Wentz tattoo.
You do.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
I would get a Carson Wentz tattoo before I would
get a Sean Payton tattoo.
Speaker 1 (24:31):
That is your guy. Though I heard you love I
learned that one Sean Payton aate my god man, you
went Carson Wentz.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
Though for a period of time was.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
Night to watch Kevin James. Right, Sean Payton, I heard
you was there for the movie.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
You know what I forgot about it? Watched that movie?
Did anybody ever watch that?
Speaker 1 (24:48):
Actually, actually, my wife and Sunday that's the reason why
I know about it. I remembered it because they literally
watched it on Draft night.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
If anybody has seen that movie, tweet us please and
let us let us know your thoughts on that movie,
because I completely for got about that until you just
mentioned it.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
I thought you was read carpet today, but.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
It was, yes, credentialed sitting in the front row. We'll
not in the front row cause she don't want to
sit in front of the movie right comfortably in the
middle of of the rows. But yeah, the AFC. I mean,
you look around and it's tough to find a quote
unquote bad team. Like I think the Texans are going
to struggle. There's there's always gonna be teams that are
going to struggle.
Speaker 1 (25:22):
But you think the Technic is gonna struggle with on
it Day bought it here Ana Demico. You think they're
gonna struggle.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
I think they'll get better as the year goes along. Huh.
That's one of those you know what. To bring this
back to the Steelers as we close this down, I
hope we get the Houston Texans early in the season.
You want them early and then when the schedule comes
out next week I think for the NFL actually, so
we'll have that to talk about next week too. We
know though that the trip to Houston is on that schedule. Now,
if it's early in the season, it will probably be
(25:47):
hotter than Hades there in Houston, Texas. That's the only thing.
But you want that game because, uh, the CJ. Stroud
and the Will Anderson and that team that you're gonna
get in September is not going to be the same
in December. Yeah, so let's let's root for that one. Maybe,
how about like first weekend in October to be on
the schedule so it'll cool down a little. But it's
(26:08):
only like it's only like week five, so they're still
they're still getting there.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
At the end the day.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
They got that little, nice little dome down there too.
It's true, but the listen when it's hotter than Haites,
like six months a year identity crisis too. Though I've
never been to Houston. I'll be going there the Texans.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
But to start the game, they let this bald eagle
like fly through the stadium or is a hog? This
is like an eagle, little hawk.
Speaker 5 (26:31):
It's like the Auburn. Yeah, I'm like Auburn Tigers, but
they do War Eagle. Yeah, it's the craziest thing. But
it's like, you know, it's an old tradition, but it's
it's no weird. And I listen, if you're an Auburn
person you're listening to this, don't tweet me. I know
the story of War Eagle, all right, I know it,
but he said, you know, no, not about War Eagle.
It's still it still confuses you when he.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
Said, he said, what's that tree?
Speaker 1 (26:52):
I don't know, Tims corn the tree.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
You know what I did. I went down there and
I pulled on the m tree.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
Bill.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
I know you're hating for it, but I gotta do it.
Rode Hat, you know it's insane, my messed up brain
and how much I love college football. I know the
guy's name. I can remember the guy's name who poisoned
the trees, Harvey Updyke. Yeah, I mean that's to be fair,
Harvey Updyke sounds like it sounds like if I want
to tell you there was a guy, Harvey Updyke who
(27:20):
was arrested. What was he arrested for? You would say
for poison some bree or something name like that down
the airport dumped some oil into the creek. Like it
had to be something like that with a name like that, right,
But this.
Speaker 6 (27:36):
Was fun today. Fun show has to be big b
