Speaker 1 (00:36):
This is the Steeler's Blitz with Wesley Euler and Arthur
Motes on your twenty four to seven Home of the
Black and Gold scn R Oh.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
This is the one Arthur Motes hundred. I think we
might have a new we might have a new interest song.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
You hit it the chop, fuck with the beat the pocket,
you hit.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
The sample, very Kanye West. Very as you were pointing
out in our studio session where we were sampling some
tracks once again, break it is, we were laughing. Like
being back in this format of like a traditional radio
two hour show. It actually kind of gives us time
to brainstorm and look at some things during breaks as

(01:17):
opposed to just podcast style going from one thing to
the next right away. I'll tell you what our production
value is going to increase that producers was slacking.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
Let's see, dude, he got here. Now this upgraded West,
They gets you like access cards.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
Wes Man.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
I'm telling y'all now y'all better stop slacking on this.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
Dude. He really do this. He is not new to this.
He is to this a major respect, major respect.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Listen. I did cut my teeth producing radio in this business,
in those unforgiving streets of Philadelphia. Well, you better have
the music right in the production, Crisp, I'll still boot
you out of town. They threw snowballs at Santa for crying.
What do you think they would do to my her South.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
At santy Clause? They threw him.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
They threw him at santy clause. If you could do
it at sants clause, you do it anybody.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Man, four one thirteen sixteen. It is the top of
the hour. I should reset here. This is the Steelers
Blitz on SNR. Wesley Euler, Arthur Motes our number two
on a holiday Friday, our global show, some AFC North
conversation around the AFC conversation here a little bit as
we have some fun on a Friday sends you into

(02:28):
the holiday weekend, hopefully with they smile on your face
and all of those good things. We'll get to some
awards predictions here, but let's go to the phone line.
Some of you been hanging on with us for a
little while. We want to reward your patience. Let's go
out to Chicago and talk to the mayor of Steelers
Nation Radio cr what's up, partner.

Speaker 5 (02:47):
Hey, let's go on, brother, that's how you doing? Stealing
Nation Chicago in the house.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Man, let's go see r Man.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
I love the fact that I remember back in the day,
we used to even play the theme music Golo West
over here.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Man.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Oh yeah, baby, that was great. But we might get
in trouble for that now because like us copyright you know.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
That. Remember that was a that was a real one.
That was the time right there. If y'all went there
for that time, man, that that sucks for y'all. But
shout out to see you steal in the Chicago baby, Yes, indeed, yes, indeed,
most I.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
Look forward to seeing you next week. Nice until the nineteenth.
I'm gonna be up there for the opening game, first
time at inside the stadium at actually Steelers game, and
now I'm gonna hang out for the weekend. Let's come
back that Monday night and check out that money night game.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
So I look forward to seeing you what I'm up
without a doubt, I will be in stadium and a
tennis man. Typically for me, they always had me hosting
interviews with one of the Steeler legends man pre game,
so outside the Great Hall, which is literally when you
come right in the stadium, you know you'll have the
team store. They usually have my stage set up. He
ain't missed me. You're gonna hear me. They had me

(04:02):
on through all the speakers out there. Pull up though,
see y'all pull up because I want to see you
in person. Man, it's been way too low baby, all right,
So yeah, if you remember that or a shoot next
week sometime.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Man, just hit me up.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
Because you know we're gonna be up here Monday, Wednesday,
Friday noon the two years.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
I remind you then as well. Man. But no, absolutely, man,
we definitely got to link up.

Speaker 5 (04:22):
It sounds like one of the brother Reggie works up
there too. He's one of the hosts. When you come
into the stadium, he greets people.

Speaker 6 (04:30):
Over there.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Let's go.

Speaker 5 (04:35):
Uh, as far as the game coming up, not the game,
but the year still look good, still just really really
look good. I think we owe everything to the car man.
He he's doing some things that other people wanted to
do but kind of like I don't know if I
want to do this or not. But he has no
holds bar. He's doing what's supposed to be done. He's

(04:57):
getting the right people in. Uh. It's like a we
got a nineteen thirty three model vehicle original NFL team
that they gave us. So every year they.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
Give us new parts.

Speaker 5 (05:08):
They give us parts from the factory, which is the
you know, the restricted agents and all those people, and
we pick and choose. Because we get fifty three parts,
we have the opportunity to keep and work with all year.
So we put that in a tune up during the
spring training and we see where our vehicle is at.
And right now, I think we're tuned up well. I

(05:29):
think offense, defense, specifically special teams. I think we've got
a lot going. I think a lot of people are
going to be a little surprised because they're still looking
at what happened last year. Well last year was last year,
that was then, this is now. I think we got
the right part. I think the coach has touched the
right buttons, and I think we got a great chance
of not only winning the division, but going a little

(05:51):
for the comments.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
You know, I'm leaning in one hundred percent, would you,
because last year showed us something that they could right together,
that they can number two handle some adversity, but number
three they could figure out a style that was conducive
in terms of winning finishing games right, running the ball,
cut down on turnovers, play great defense. Well, the next

(06:13):
evolution was this offense becoming a little bit more explosive.
Even though it's been preseason, we've seen that in stadium. Now,
if you've been out to training camp, you've seen similar
things at training camp that explosivelopment to this offense. So
we can only go off of what we've continued to see.
So to me, I'm believing in what I saw preseason

(06:34):
or not. We're seeing them execute down the yard. We're
seeing an added element explosiveness in the run game or
in the pass game.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
And the style of these plays too. They carry over.

Speaker 4 (06:47):
Jalen Warren's long run against the Buffalo Bills. Was that
not Jordan Porter, who's a first team All Pro these
past couple of seasons.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
That's what he ran around to break that long run.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
George Pickens going up top and catching that ball the
way that he's done. Does that matter if that was
Jalen Ramsey out there or Wesley Yula out there. If
Pickens was getting his hands on that football like that,
it was coming down with him and then with Kenny
throwing the ball the way that he did, that doesn't
matter who's out there. That's what can Kenny just have
that type of touch, ball placement, accuracy, and confidence in

(07:20):
himself to put the ball out there. All of those
things translate. So for me, I don't get too caught
up in preseason versus not. I look more so at
why it happened and exactly that portion of it. Can
that translate? And I do feel like the things that
we're talking about they will translate. And you already know

(07:40):
what's going on in that defense. Ma, we ain't even
gott to get to them shit, but you know what
that is. So yeah, man, I'm with you. I think
a lot of that transition's over. My big concerns health
and number one, excuse me, healthless the first part always,
and then just being able to maintain this because it
is different when you're talking about in it from a

(08:00):
quarter to four quarters and repeat process every week is
going to be.

Speaker 5 (08:06):
A different on it, You on it, your owner. I'm
thinking by the time we get to to the to
the break, we see how them first five games go, uh,
and then the break if we like undefeated or maybe
lost possibly one game at the break. Hey, the rest
of the NFL, they need to be concerned about that. Burgon, Hey,

(08:26):
Bron I'm not gonna take up a whole lot more
of your time when I know we got other people
out there. I do appreciate you guys. Give me a
couple of minutes of your time. You want to shout
out to my boy one having talked to him.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
Come on, man, I'm old enough to all. So hey, wait,
hold on, real quick, real quick, real quick, before you
do your sign off. I don't know what made me
figure the CR but I've always wanted to ask you this,
just random. Do you have a college football team that
you root for?

Speaker 5 (08:54):
Brother? No, I was in the I went to the
military at the early age eighteen, and I never really
got into any kind of college stuff. I was in Texas.
When I was in Texas, I did hang out with
the Southwest Conference because it was all all the Texas
teams and the only team that was outside was Arkansas.
So I do remember actually physically seeing Earl Campbell when
he was in college, and I watched some of that stuff.

(09:14):
And then you had the Bell of Bears. You had
the mister inside mister outside up there. So I do
remember that. But I'm never really rooted for a college team.
But I'm gonna be honest with you. If I was
to root for a college.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
Team, Mountaineers, He's already said, James Madison University. He's excluding
them from whatever list he's about to put, whatever team
he's about to say. He's like, I'm gonna just reserve
James Madison.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
He already knows that's a near and dear spot in
his heart.

Speaker 4 (09:39):
I got you, see your continue I'm with you.

Speaker 5 (09:43):
I guess I'll just be quiet.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
I'm dying. Take me.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
Look.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
He was already over.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
He was with it.

Speaker 4 (09:59):
He had his purple and gold and he was like
you look. He's like, we don't have to talk about you.

Speaker 7 (10:09):
I've been a Lake Advances, Magic, came out of college.
Hey guys, let me back out here, and you guys
have a great weekend. I said, I'll be up there
from the nineteen the nineteenth hope to see you guys
in the meantime and then be Dwayne time.

Speaker 5 (10:23):
Here we go, Here we go.

Speaker 8 (10:27):
Take it easy, Sea Art. The coaches shout out to
see y'all, baby, let's go Virginia Clippings, clipper whip it.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Put it in the show's museum, put it in the
show's Hall of Fame. One day. I love it. You
know what, speaking of mountain Mama, West Virginia country Roads.
Take me home to the place everybody, John Wes virgin
in Morgantown, the home of the Gold and Blue. And

(11:00):
what's up, buddy, how you doing?

Speaker 6 (11:02):
Hey, what's good? Well's what's good? Notes? Thanks for getting
me on the line. Thanks for keeping the company at
work on this labor day Friday.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Only the real ones were holiday Fridays. Johnson, you were
you know, that's that West Virginia. That's that blue collar
work ethic.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
Come on, that's what that's what my mama with us.
Come on, baby, Yeah, hey.

Speaker 6 (11:20):
You gotta do a little bit of labor on Labor Day.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
John Steelers gonna win the AFC North.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
We need to know feet to the fight. Let's talk.

Speaker 6 (11:30):
Yeah, Yeah, they're winning it. They're winning it this year.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
I love it.

Speaker 6 (11:35):
I think they're gonna I think they're gonna surprise the teams. Man,
they're deep, they got a lot of talent put stides
of the ball. I don't think it's unreasonable to think that,
you know, that young offense is gonna take a step forward.
Defense got some new pieces, but the stars, I mean,
it's been the same names there that are the Stars, Haywards, Watts,
DA Macas for the last couple of years, So I

(11:59):
think that that will help them out. And then uh,
they're scheduled too. I mean, the division games are gonna
be tough, but I think the rest of the FC
games are lining up pretty well for them, and uh
the NFC West, So I think I think they can
stack some wins and you know, we'll see how the
division plays.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Out, that we will. I like it. I enjoyed the optimism.
Anyone else from the division make the postseason besides the Steelers.

Speaker 6 (12:27):
I'm gonna go with the chalk pick, probably the Bengals.
I think that'll be the only two I can't. I
don't think Baltimore and Cincy or Baltimore and Cleveland can't
make it.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Fair enough, fair enough.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
I like that right there.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
Now, Baltimore a lot of unknown as always with Cleveland,
and as Mozy mentioned, mentality, so they they they you
know like in in Europe, right Mozy, like soccer teams
and stuff like they'll say, oh like Real Madrid, their
mentality monsters. Right, they can fall behind and they come
back and mentality monsters. The Cleveland Browns are the opposite

(13:02):
of a mentality monster.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
Unfortunately or fortunately?

Speaker 2 (13:08):
How about that?

Speaker 6 (13:10):
Like that?

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Like that, John, anything else you had for us, partner?

Speaker 6 (13:14):
Yeah, remember a couple of months ago when you guys
were looking to replace. Uh, there's more than one way
to skin a cat. Yes, yes, yes, I thought of one.
There's more than one way to catch a fish.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
Oh okay, that's nicer to the fish than it is
to skin the cat.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
Yeah, because I don't be wanting to skin I mean
feeling guilty about the cats.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
Man, more than one way to catch a fish.

Speaker 6 (13:35):
You don't want to hurt the animal.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
We see what happened when you know you can't even
tweet VIDs about hurting animals.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Man, you've seen how that.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
All right?

Speaker 6 (13:45):
You know it's real brorom that you know it's.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
I've seen this happen before. You can't retweet it and
then acted when you get asked, never mind, we're not
We're not. Nope, we're not doing it.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
I ain't talking about that now. It's too late. Now
you you've opened that door.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
Talk about that guy when we get to see Yeah.

Speaker 6 (14:00):
Yeah, put the topaste back in the tube.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
Come on, man, you know how it is.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
John, partner. Thank you. When we uh come up little
more than more than one way to catch a fish,
we will think of you fondly. Enjoy the rest of
your laboring here as we head into Labor Day weekend.
Thanks for rocking and rolling with this as.

Speaker 6 (14:18):
Always, Buddy, Thank you for the show. Guys, I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Let's go. Let's go John down in Morgan pen.

Speaker 4 (14:25):
No, no, it was I did have to talk to
you real quick. Okay, John was fired, thoroughly enjoyed.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
We got we got great listeners, great callers, great interaction
on this show. We're pretty spoiled, I tell you.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
But but I will say John, he was going down
his list of people of why he's optimistic about the team,
and he happened to name a particular player plays on defense.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
I think his number was number ninety.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
TJ What who?

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Who?

Speaker 2 (14:57):
Name older brother who played in the league with his
own brother's name was j. J. W And he had
another brother, Derek why. But of course you know, the
most handsome of the three is TJ.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
What's last name was not his last name? But who?

Speaker 6 (15:12):
What?

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Okay? Is he?

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Nice? Hey? Who is that linebacker that the Steelers draft
out of Wisconsin? Before Nick Herbert, I.

Speaker 3 (15:20):
Did tj oh, Yeah, I got what.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
You fired up to.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
Yeah, maybe you're not. Couldn't pass up on that one.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Now, our buddy Rod Dollar tweets us and says, the
whole division could make the playoffs realistically, certainly couldn't. It's
it would be tough, but it it is a realistic possibility,
one that I wouldn't put a very high percentage on.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
It's always hard when you got to put each other.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
That's what I mean. But it is still it's still realistic.
We've never had that happen before. Obviously, it's only been
a couple of years that that would have been a
possibility since they introduced the extra wild card.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
I was going to say, like, we've seen, but they could.
We've seen it happen with three teams have gotten in.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
We've seen three.

Speaker 6 (15:59):
We know.

Speaker 4 (15:59):
I do feel like in order for fourteen to get in,
we got to have multiple ties, I think, or you
just have games you all have to.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
Really beat up on another division or something.

Speaker 4 (16:11):
Like, even if everybody splits it, you're still win win
one loss on everybody's roster or everybody's record.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
I mean, it'd be interesting if it ever did happen,
though we can say that.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
We will see how long it takes for that to happen.
Now in the age of the extra wild card game,
gonna get to our first break of the final hour
of the show here this week, first day in September,
final day that we'll do a show that we will
not be previewing or looking back on a game as
we are ready for the regular season to get rolling
next week six days from now in Kansas City, Detroit,

(16:44):
Lions uh taking on the Chiefs on their ring night,
their banner night, to get the NFL going. As always,
we're looking forward to it. We will continue to get
to some of your reaction. We'll talk a little NFL
awards too, preseason prediction picks for who might take away
some of that individual hardware, all that good stuff. As
we roll along here, Wesley Yuler, Arthur Motes the Steelers
Blitz on sn or.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
This is the Steeler's Blitz with Wesley Euler and Arthur
Motes on your twenty four to seven Home of the
Black and Gold skn R.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
Who knew we had this vast treasure trove of enjoyable
beats right.

Speaker 3 (17:54):
In our cook in the day. Ro you just think
your producer bag you like doctor dre.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Our friend Carol tweeted us and said, Wes Sheler is
the best producer in town. Man of many talents. Oh,
you guys are so flattering. But see, it's been a
fun show today. I like when we have these shows
where we're laid back and we do the blend the
balance of have fun, like having fun and talking about
some goofy topics and getting back into some you know,

(18:22):
some football conversations, some real tangible fund all talk.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
We just want to have fun.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
That's it. That's that's what it's always.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
Here to work. I'm here for a good time. You know.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
A wise radio man once told me what they say,
Brian Lamartina, is that win our ESPN and s n
R sense master splinter for us that if you're having
fun doing the show, that means the audience is going
to be having fun listening to the show. And I
think that makes sense.

Speaker 3 (18:48):
I believe that is very accurate, man.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
And I think you and I that would if I
were listing our strongs, right, if we were doing a
scouting report for the Steelers Blitz for the you know,
the radio show combine and I was listening our strengths.
I think that would be one of them. I think
we have a good time. I think we laugh. I
think we never take ourselves too seriously. There's times where
we disagree and we've gotten a little heated and things
like that in the context of sports debate, but we we.

Speaker 4 (19:11):
Still have one of the most epic ones for us. Man,
I never forget, Well, it's in deg Bro, poor young,
good old Jacob, poor young Jacob. Say what that's a
heck of a first impression.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
One of the first days he ever produced us. And
Jacob has just started at work in the last month,
and you and I are like pounding the table arguing
about Carson Wentz Dak Prescott. It got real, which in hindsight,
you absolutely won that debate because Dak Prescott has had
a much better career and is much better right now
than Carson wentzys. But I think we both lost in
a way too, because we got that fired up about

(19:44):
Carson Wentz and tech.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
Press like we hijacked a whole hour of a show.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
People were tweeting us like, are you guys okay? Show
you guys ever do together?

Speaker 4 (19:54):
Let's say I don't know what is going on with
those gentlemen right now.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
But uh, you might want to going there.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
Yeah, yeah, it got real, bro, it got real good times.
I think that is like the only time we've ever
got to that point.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
To that point, yeah, absolutely, we had a couple of
good like spirit arguments at that time. It was just
totally Oh that was the moment too, I think where
we actually became friends. It was because that's what was
You could do that with somebody that you're friends with. Yes,
in thirty seconds, after you're done arguing for an hour,
it's over. But if you do that with somebody that

(20:28):
you're not really friends with, that cold kind of it's
like after that, it's going to be awkward for a long.

Speaker 3 (20:32):
Very true, very true.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
It's funny. See when we ended the first hour of
the show a half an hour ago, I mean, I
hope no one was holding their breath. I gave a
tease that the NFL Comeback Player of the Year was
very simple, the easiest one of all these season predictions.
And I did that kind of jokingly to maybe keep
you on the edge of your seat and do a
little funny radio bit. I hope, but the comeback Player

(20:55):
of the Year is going to be DeMar Hamlin. I
mean sign steal delivered. You can take that one to
the bank right now.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
I think it's a very strong possibility that you're accurate
with that and not just being biased. I just think
that it's very legitimate. He did almost eye.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
I mean that we said about Alex Smith because a
lot of people wanted Ben to win it that year
coming off of his elbow surgery, and don't be wrong,
in any other year Ben would have had a great
chance to win it. But Alex Smith almost had to
have his leg amputated on the field or after the
fact of an injury.

Speaker 3 (21:25):
On the thing. Everybody saw that picture.

Speaker 4 (21:27):
It looked like the incredible Hawk Times Gallum, Yes, Times.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
Walking did on Alex Smith Leake bro.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
And the DeMar Hamlin situation I think was even to
another level than that.

Speaker 4 (21:40):
So because that was more of the true life for
death since correct, So that point out in prime time
shock value added to it.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
Take that one of the bank. We're stoked to see
Damar back out there and playing once again and in
good health, and we wish him all the best. Motzi
will work our way up to this thing. Right let's
go NFL Coach of the Year. If you had to
make a prediction who that is going to be, you
would say.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
M low key. I don't know why.

Speaker 4 (22:12):
With Sean Payton, he's just like is in my mind
because big enough name where he's gonna have a ton
of eyes on him. So it's not gonna be a
hard sell enough adversity last year with them not playing
well that we're gonna be able to physically look at
it and say, oh yeah, we can see a tangible

(22:32):
difference at night and day because the core pieces are
still the same. It's not like they're a new quarterback
or this brand new revamped offense. Everything is pretty standard
from last season. So I feel like for Sean Payton,
everybody loved him from the Saints Drew Brees Super Bowls.
They used to bother meself, They loved him when he
went to TV and now he used to get Now

(22:57):
he's gonna come out the booth and he gets a
chance to be the hero.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
And with Russ, Russ is another.

Speaker 4 (23:02):
One of those weird like yeah, because he's still very talented,
but we saw him play really bad last season, So
he's another person that people are gonna be looking at to see. Oh,
but if he gets hot, nobody's gonna be surprised by
it there, and they would definitely lean and say it's
because Sean Payton was able to get it out of him.
You know, Sean Payton was able to get him right.

(23:23):
Pete Carroll was a defensive coach. That's why I started
to sour.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Sean Payton. Come on, bro, look what he did. Look
what it would take some hill.

Speaker 3 (23:32):
So that's far for me.

Speaker 4 (23:34):
I think as much as I would love for to
be coach t as much as I would love for
it to be Sean McDermott, as much as I could
make a case for Zach Taylor, I just think that
they gonna find a way. If if the Broncos are
in the conversation and Russ is playing well, they're gonna
say it's Sean Payton and they're gonna be clamoring over him.

Speaker 2 (23:52):
And it's kind of like what they've.

Speaker 4 (23:54):
Done with Andy Reid now, Andy Reid and Philly they
were shoting to side on him, not really trying to
respect them. Tired of the sustained excellence comes to Kansas City.
We talked about him like he's the greatest offense of mind. Ever,
I look at Sean Payton, I'm like, this would be
his chance to do his mahomes.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
Oh no, we see though, I could see that. Man.
I hope you're wrong, but.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
I want to be wrong because they would drive me nuts.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
And we'll documented in the history of the show. I'm
not the biggest Sean Payton fan, but do you know
how they love they love him, bro, he is a
media darling. That is sure. I like your pick because
I'm kind of going with one that I think might
surprise people as well too. Matt Lafleur, I can similar
in terms of everyone's running the Packers off. Aaron Rodgers

(24:42):
is gone, They're down for a tailspin. The Vikings are
good in that division. The Lions are the new team
in that division. No one's really faying Justin Fields, and
some people are hyping up the Bears too right and thinking,
you know, if Justin Fields really takes a step forward,
Like no, it feels like no one for the first
time in a long time it's talking about the Packers
any serious capacity. And I'm gonna do the it's just

(25:03):
preseason thing. But we also were just doing this with
Kenny Pickett too, Like Jordan Love looked good in the preseason.
It's just preseason.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
Are you saying that multiple teams could look good in
the preseason?

Speaker 2 (25:16):
No, that was actually good, right, Sorry, he looked terrible.

Speaker 4 (25:18):
I thought only one person in one team could like
really look good in the preseason.

Speaker 3 (25:22):
Where we take a jump, Kenny.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
Was a ten, so he was maybe a two. I'll
give him that, No, but he was not Kenny Pickett
impressive in the preseason. To be fair, Kenny was I
think the most impressive quarterback in the in the entire
league in the preseason. But Jordan Love, I thought, had
a solid preseason. And man, he's been sitting around waiting
forever and he knows that offense because it's Matt Lafleur
who's been there now for what four or five seasons,

(25:44):
and he was a first round pick out of college
for a reason. He was a guy who was talented. Obviously.
I think I'm not saying I think that they're a
threat to win the Super Bowl, but I think there's
still a threat to win that division. And I think
even if they finished ten to seven and make the playoffs,
that people would look at it and say, wow, we
thought the Packers were going to fall off a cliff.
Here they are right back in the postseason. I'm going

(26:05):
Matt Lafleur.

Speaker 3 (26:06):
Word on the street is they did the third best
team in the division, though.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
Some people might even say fourth, and honestly that could
be the reality. I can. I could still see them
going ten and seven and making the playoffs. Respect Now,
if the Lions finished the same situation, it might be
it might be Dan Campbell.

Speaker 4 (26:22):
Now because if the Lions on that division, I think
that they very much have a chance.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
Because everybody, it's true, I feel like.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
One of those two. I'm going with the coaching.

Speaker 4 (26:30):
I'm going with one of those two because like to me,
I feel like Sean Payton is my Yeah, Sean Payton
is my favorite, the post boy, the odds on favorite
if I'm putting money down. But Dan Campbell is my
dark horse because he's got enough of like that underground following.
He's like that, Oh if you want to be a
real football guy, but not a right this is more

(26:54):
of the traditional like hard nose football guy.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
You see them, that's football, you know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (26:59):
Like, oh you know that one, Okay, you're from you
like you like Pittsbord music. Okay, Sean Payton is whiz Khalifa.
If you say, you know, let me get a Dan Camra.
That's that's the Chevy Woods or is that that's the
mac Miller's at the Jimmy Wappo, Like, whoa, you really
into this thing?

Speaker 2 (27:14):
That's I can see day like that.

Speaker 4 (27:15):
So if they win, if they win the North, the
NFC North, don't be surprised if give good old Dan
isn't getting that accolade.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
I'm going to NFC North coach one of two to
win coach. Yeah, you know what, that's funny as we
talked that out, like if Laflour is gonna win it,
I mean Campbell's got a really good chance to win
it too, because he's even more so in that darling light.
I think. So ah, let's see here, hmm, it'll squeeze

(27:44):
one more in before we go to break.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
Why not.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
I'm trying to do the stall for ten seconds here
so I can figure out if we should break.

Speaker 4 (27:49):
Now or we'll put it like this, man, the only
time we need to break is when we think about
your affinity for Sean Payton. And I'm so excited about
the fact that when Sean Payton does get his h
you know period of time where they go crazy over him,
because it's gonna happen at some point this season if
they start out two wins or started with three wins,

(28:09):
they're gonna go insane. And I just want to let
you know ahead of time. I'm personally gonna bring it
out on the holiday.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
Bring it up every single time you have to go
out here and suffer through traffic to get home. That's
I'm gonna be thinking about the Sean Peyton redemption story
that everyone's gonna shove in our faces. He's the reason
why I gotta take a lap around the building.

Speaker 4 (28:35):
Cooking without Payton. Peyton then revived Breeze's career. He got
Taysom Hill paid, and now he was able to get
the best out of Russ. Gosh, you just love this
type of coach right here. This is why he's the
best coach ever. A first Battle Hall of Fame. They
get it right, But I did, I think I did.

(29:00):
I'm gonna go cry in the corner.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
This is the Steelers Blitz with Wesley Euler and Arthur
Mots on your twenty four to seven Home of the
Black and Gold skn.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
R final segment of the Blitz here nice, nice relaxing
Friday here on nine seventy ESPN and Steelers Nation Radio
having some fun as we always do, protect you on
a holiday Friday. Are kind of our you know, our
last real goofy show before we get into.

Speaker 3 (29:51):
This, our last season.

Speaker 4 (29:52):
It's our last free Friday, bro because yeah, sorry, next week.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
It's kind of like it's kind of like we've had
a substance teacher, you know, and yeah there's still been
been some stuff getting done, but you're allowed a little
more wiggle room for goofiness next next week. Classes in session,
make no mistakeel Mozi. A couple more predictions here before
we get to some tweets to close this thing. Dan,

(30:18):
let's go Defensive Player of the Year. Nick Bosa won
it last year, TJ Watt the year before. What you
know is this the year of Micah Parson's twenty twenty three.

Speaker 3 (30:29):
He's definitely gonna be in the convo.

Speaker 4 (30:31):
I don't think that you know, he's out of the
top three in the convo, especially when you plan for
Dallas on top of that, always helps plays a sex
position where he himself can produce, regardless of how well
the team performs is always important. You want to be
one of the positions where you got those numbers. I
can still do me even if the team isn't looking

(30:53):
what it needs to look like. So yeah, Mike is
definitely in the conversation. TJ is heavily in the convo
as well. Bosa again, if he can get his contract
situation sort of, it is in the convo.

Speaker 3 (31:05):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
Maybe Sauce Gardner, they're gonna try to step forward. We'll
put it like this.

Speaker 4 (31:10):
He already came in and showed a lot year one.
He's gonna have a lot of hype around him. Year
two market they're planning terms with Rogers out there, so
there's gonna be a lot more eyes on them this
season as well.

Speaker 3 (31:22):
So he'll be heavily in that Convo's.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
That the list. Let's see who who else?

Speaker 3 (31:27):
What I put up here? Man, because obviously.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
The only ones that we haven't mentioned that they that
they've discussed.

Speaker 4 (31:35):
So it's perfect because I was gonna say Rocross probably
the only off ball guy Fred.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
Warner, but I just don't know. Man. It's hard for
them dudes, man, because you gotta do the hundred and fifty.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
He needs splash couples, forced fumbles, it's tough.

Speaker 4 (31:52):
Whereas the pass rusher, man, you can go out there
and get twenty something sacks and yeah, money you in
every single convo, money like period.

Speaker 3 (32:01):
So I'm bias. I'm gonna go TJ.

Speaker 4 (32:03):
But I would really love to see Michael be able
to go ahead and take that next step in his
professional journey and go ahead and get him one of
them things too.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
Man.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
I that would be where I would cast my chip
if we were sitting at the casino and I had
to make a bet. I think TJ will, like.

Speaker 3 (32:18):
You've done that before or something, man, once or twice.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
I think TJ will be in the top three for sure.
Nick Bost, I don't think is going anywhere. But if
you made me cast a chip right now, I think
I would say Michael Parsons takes it home this year,
the young guy, the one you know, just like a
couple of years ago we were talking about, all right,
it's TJ's time to go win this thing. It kind
of feels like Michael Parson's time to go win this thing.
But it should be a fantastic debate if all those

(32:41):
guys end up staying healthy and playing sixteen or seventeen games.
Offensive Player of the Year Arthur Motes.

Speaker 4 (32:48):
Well, I guess I should roll with Justin Well, yeah,
I probably will because I know.

Speaker 2 (32:53):
Joe Browder replaced her gritty himself.

Speaker 3 (32:55):
Because this is my thing, I would.

Speaker 4 (32:57):
I feel like Jamar Chase, I want him to do
it this year, but I think Joe brows and healthy.
I know they're gonna play in Week one because that's
what all teams do. You get your guy back as
close as he can't be being healthy, you throw them
out there and you know, hope for the best.

Speaker 3 (33:10):
But watching a move around, watching the walker, I'm just like,
I don't know, Like I don't know.

Speaker 4 (33:17):
Yeah, so if that is compromised and it gets further
compromised than Jamar Chase can't do what he.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
Can do correct, you never know. They seem like he's
gonna play next weekend, but you never know. What if
he's only eighty percent that year? Yeah, what is he?

Speaker 3 (33:33):
Man?

Speaker 2 (33:33):
What is he? I like Garrett Wilson's chances. I know
that sounds funny, but I think I think that that
offense should score points. And we saw him have a
really good rookie season. I think he's primed, primed for
a big year.

Speaker 3 (33:46):
I would love, oh Digs to get in that come.

Speaker 2 (33:49):
Yeah you would.

Speaker 3 (33:50):
I would love that.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
Yeah you would that, I know you would.

Speaker 4 (33:53):
I just don't think he's gonna need like for Buffalo
to go where they need to go. I act, so
you feel like Diggs can't have those because they gotta.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
Be more balanced. Yes, completely agree.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
Gotta be more balance right.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
Now, man, completely agree with that. I think that's well
said by you, all right, m v P. Mahomes is
the easy answer. I mean number.

Speaker 4 (34:19):
One I said was Josh Josh. It was like they
already love him. He's been on the cuss, one of
the cus on the cuss.

Speaker 2 (34:27):
Okay, how about this, And this might be cheating a
little bit, but if it's not Mahomes, not Burrow or
not Josh Allen, if it's not one of those big three,
who's the next most likely?

Speaker 3 (34:37):
I would love Justin.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
I would love to see Justin tech, But after a
B not getting it, I don't think just is gont
get it.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
Brodude, it's so hard that when you're not a quarterback, like,
it's so difficult.

Speaker 3 (34:49):
Give me hurts.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
I guess that's a great call. Trevor Lawrence being the conversation.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
I feel like he is in the convo.

Speaker 4 (34:55):
I feel like for Hurts because he was so close
last year and did not get it, but then put
the performance he did postseason in Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
Yeah, I think he came back hot.

Speaker 4 (35:05):
They're gonna all kind of be like that, you didn't
get it last year, so now this is your turn.
And if Trevor bolled out to that same extent, they
would hit him with the.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
Euro up next year. That's true, you get it next
go around. It will be interesting, though, because let's be honest,
that's a franchise that it's say they go twelve and
five this year. The Jags, like he will get a
lot of credit for Oh my goodness, that doesn't happen
down there in Jacksonville. They've been a mess for so long.
They won a playoff game last year. Look what you
did this year. And I could see some hype building
in that regard what happens if they sucked though, but

(35:35):
then he ain't winning the MVP. Spoiler alert, you know,
let's get some of these tweets to get us out
of here. In the final minutes of the show, you
funny Gunner. Wait, sorry, hold on, listen, I'm all over
the place here, can't cut off Andy Reid?

Speaker 3 (35:48):
Which Gunner?

Speaker 2 (35:49):
Was it?

Speaker 3 (35:50):
Time?

Speaker 7 (35:50):
Here?

Speaker 2 (35:51):
O Schefsky Gunner Brock tweets us and says, gentlemen, I
need your help. My wife and I are going to
the Las Vegas Raiders versus Steelers game next month.

Speaker 4 (36:01):
Vegas.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
He says, I want to tailgate, but I'm not very experienced.
What should I bring? What should I expect? Do I
bring money? I honestly have no idea. Please help? Thank you? Okay,
So Gunner, you came to the right place. Yeah, you
definitely did.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
Man, If you are trying to host your own tailgate.

Speaker 2 (36:16):
That's what I was gonna say. It all depends.

Speaker 4 (36:18):
If you're hosting your own, you would probably want some
nice beverages, one of them little like small like portable girls,
if you want to cook something, snacks, some music sound
type of music outlet, and some chairs.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
Chairs, maybe like a pop up ten or something. It's
gonna be hot September. I would say that.

Speaker 4 (36:38):
But if you're not trying to do your own and
you just needed a recommendation to go somewhere, the terrible
tailgate always it's gonna be electric out there. I believe
Leveon Bell is the special guest player they're supposed to
go up. They also have DJ Bonis providing music. He
is Withis Khalifa's personal DJ as well. So yeah, man,

(36:58):
I would say check that out, man, absolutely, if you
know you didn't want to do the heavy lifting yourself,
but you got options.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
Though, One more option for you there, Gunner. Now, this
is this is this is what I when I uh,
when I go to a road game for my Mountaineers.

Speaker 4 (37:15):
This is what I like that show because you you
don't go to road games, like knowing people go to roadgains.

Speaker 3 (37:19):
But still is now your big it's not work day.
You fly prize and.

Speaker 2 (37:23):
Then not work day. I'm at the stadium five hours
before the game starts. It's a work day.

Speaker 4 (37:27):
They pay you to go to the stadium. You're a
social like that's what they call them people.

Speaker 2 (37:32):
It be stressful when your wireless mikes you're breaking.

Speaker 4 (37:35):
Down I.

Speaker 3 (37:37):
Show. They pay you for the walk through, bro, I
be scressing chains.

Speaker 2 (37:43):
Yeah, and what I like to do to I do
this like like I went to a Michigan Notre Dame
game one time at the Big House and I did this,
you know, one of the times I went out to
Penn State for Penn State Ohio State. Another option that
you always have gunner, and this depending on how mobile
you want to be in things too, but you could
always pack a light cooler, right, like soft cooler and
just kind of roam find groups of Steelers fans and they.

Speaker 4 (38:07):
A lot of people are super friendly, super settings on
game day, especially on the road, because you don't always
travel with people, you don't always have a big group.

Speaker 3 (38:15):
So whenever you know you see Lake comes.

Speaker 2 (38:17):
Oh, it's the best see and seeing another Steelers fan
out there. You know, when you follow your alma mater
or your favorite school around, there's like an instant bond
that you have with people when you're wearing the same
colors and enemy territories. And so that's always one thing
that I like to do it in situations like that too,
pack like a little soft cooler and just stay mobile
and make some friends and go around taking the culture,

(38:40):
taking the traditions and the scenery and everything going on.
Or maybe you end up meeting some people that you
like and you plant yourself down and have a good time.

Speaker 4 (38:47):
But while you're walking around solo don't run into the
Raiders fans and start any trouble with them by yourself.

Speaker 3 (38:53):
Just heads up on that one, absolutely, you know, safety
and numbers.

Speaker 2 (38:56):
Last one here, mozis we kind.

Speaker 9 (38:58):
Of go be careful for rating. Yeah, autumn, it's a rating.
We'll talk about them in a couple of weeks. Brendan
tweets us last one here to get us out today.
Have you guys watched any of ah Soka so far?
And if so, what do you.

Speaker 3 (39:13):
Think I have not?

Speaker 4 (39:14):
Actually, man, it's been a crazy crazy You've not a
busy week or so?

Speaker 6 (39:18):
Here?

Speaker 3 (39:18):
Hey, I got I gotta.

Speaker 4 (39:19):
I'm looking forward to tonight around eleven thirty, I'm gonna
catch the super late college football game and I'm gonna
have a chance to fully unwind love. Maybe like when
my vibe starts to like fully vibe.

Speaker 2 (39:31):
That's when you'll really feel like the holiday weekend, because.

Speaker 3 (39:33):
Right now I'm still Yeah.

Speaker 2 (39:35):
Some of us are hardly working. Some of us are
working hard. Moza is always working hard.

Speaker 4 (39:39):
I'm working harder than I suppose. I'm supposed to be retired. Wes,
I don't work.

Speaker 3 (39:43):
We retired?

Speaker 2 (39:44):
Yeah, you did that to yourself.

Speaker 3 (39:45):
I'm supposed to retire.

Speaker 2 (39:47):
I have watched all three episodes of Ah Soca, watched
them on, watched a couple on the plane flight to
Atlanta on AJ on a PJ and uh and then
uh and then the other one Tuesday night or Wednesday
after it came out.

Speaker 3 (40:02):
Did you even have your seat on when you was
watching that movie?

Speaker 2 (40:04):
Listen, don't wait the secrets of the plane? Was you irregularly?
Did you have? I actually had sushi and a chicken
palms sandwich.

Speaker 4 (40:13):
The sushi on Southwest Ladies, kat we be you ain't
getting sushi o your Jet Blue flight. That's what he's
telling you. All.

Speaker 2 (40:22):
That was an honest peel back the curtain. Sushi and
a chicken barm.

Speaker 3 (40:27):
So what was you eating with your chap?

Speaker 2 (40:30):
You want you want?

Speaker 3 (40:30):
Did you go chaps with your boogiezo? You want?

Speaker 2 (40:32):
You want some Asian based foods and you want some
Italian based food Guess what you can have both?

Speaker 4 (40:37):
They said, this isn't very king, but you could stay
have it your way. It's a little bit better than
Spirit Airlines, just a tad bit. I like the first
three episodes. I like where the show's going. There's been
a couple of those exciting lightsaber battle moments, but you
can really tell it's building up. It starts pretty dope.
New show was pretty.

Speaker 2 (40:54):
I'm just waiting to see Hayden. I'm just waiting to
see Anakin pop into the fold at some point because
it's half it's a different angle it is, you know,
with this particular one.

Speaker 3 (41:03):
So I do like that part.

Speaker 2 (41:04):
But Dawson is awesome though.

Speaker 3 (41:07):
But you know how I feel sometimes about like the series.

Speaker 4 (41:10):
Man, I'm I'm like a purist and a snob at
the same time, I know, but it's like I love
the franchise, I know.

Speaker 3 (41:18):
Yeah, that's like my big dilemma anytime with him though.

Speaker 2 (41:21):
Man, well, we'll we'll reconvene in this question at some point,
Yes please, But that's gonna do it for us. For now.
We got to get to the holiday weekend. Everybody be
safe out there. If you're traveling this weekend. If you're
a college football junkie like Motes and I, I wish
you good fortune and your manor in the opening unless
A is Penn State, because you don't need it, because
you're probably gonna beat us by three touchdowns.

Speaker 4 (41:42):
Your alma mater is Buck No, you definitely don't get
you're gonna need it.

Speaker 2 (41:45):
You need to go to church.

Speaker 4 (41:46):
We're trying to break the school board. I'm telling you today,
we're trying to break the school board.

Speaker 2 (41:52):
Thanks to everybody who participated today on the calls and
on the tweets, and it's always a big shout out
to the best co host in the business, Nathan Motes
the third who me enjoyed the holiday week and everybody
will be back with you next week to get you
ready for the NINAS. As always, you know where to
find us. It's on your twenty four to seven Home
with the Black and Gold Steelers Nation Radio and now
