Speaker 1 (00:21):
This is the Steeler's Blitz with Wesley Euler and Arthur
Motes on your twenty four to seven Home of the
Black and Gold scan r.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Our number two inside the Electric Factory.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
That means, ooh, it's about that time, Steelers Browns Monday Night, folks.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
It's a massive one early on in the season. Is
it a must win game? No, of course it's not.
But it is certainly a big one.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
No one's denying that at home in primetime on Monday
Night against those Jabbronis from down the Turnpike in Ohio,
the Browns. And one of the things we do is
to set the stage. I think it's one of the
best things we do here on the show. Professor Motz
takes us into his little classroom. He gives us the
five matchups that are going to determine the outcome of

(01:07):
Monday Night. Whoever has more success in these areas most
of the time is gonna end up winning the football game.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
It's a little thing that we call five Start Friday.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
It's a five star matchup because we're in it.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Five Star Friday Matchup number one.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
Man, Well, let's go ahead and get it.

Speaker 5 (01:29):
Man.

Speaker 6 (01:29):
I'm starting with the most important matchup and that is
Alex Heitsmith versus Jedrick Wills. Baby Baby Baby. Why is
that the most important one? Well, because that's the one
where we've had the absolute most success. We know this
matchup the absolute most in terms of TJ. Watt. He's
gonna be having a new guy over there, so we're

(01:50):
gonna get to that, but we don't know what the
new guy is gonna do just yet. I've seen Alex
high Smith beat the drum on Jedri Wills, take him
around the edge with that speed. I don't seen him
taking around the edge and they hit him with the
whoops it days He's spin move inside had jediic like, bro,
where are you? That is key?

Speaker 4 (02:12):
Now?

Speaker 6 (02:12):
Why is that key man? Because we're gonna be able
to stop this run. I'm already booking that. We got
to do that. That is mandatory. There is no tomorrow
without stopping the rush. So we're not even gonna waste
the time even talking about that. But once we get
past that portion, the next most critical thing is getting
pressure on DeShawn Watson and Cleveland's gonna do some things

(02:34):
to protect the other side of that offensive line, and
it's going to ultimately isolate high Smith and Jedrick Wills,
and for Cleveland, their success will be if Jederick can
keep DeShawn clean. If he can keep DeShawn clean. DeShawn
he played well last week. He had some missus. The
weather was tragic though, He's know how if you watch,

(02:58):
if you know, you know, man, it was bad, bro.
But he's not one of those guys that you want
to just allow to have time to extend plays to
ultimately get back comfortable out there. High Smith is the
answer to that. Though HeiG Smith wins the one on ones,
and he's done it consistently in this specific matchup. You
can make a case Jedrick is part of the reason
why Alics got so many millions. Shoot, you start doing

(03:20):
the math. We used to say every sack is worth
a M. So you think about how many sacks he's
had against Jedrick, and think about how many MS he
just signed for and Christmas car Sorry now okay, now,
so that's the first one that we got to talk
about that baby, all right, So, like I said, definitely
looking forward to that one.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Listen at a feeling the trenches would be heavily represented
in this list and you're starting out with.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
A bang five star Friday matchup number two.

Speaker 6 (03:44):
Well, if I started on that side, I gotta go
to the other side, and that is TJ.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
Watt versus the rookie Dwan Jones.

Speaker 6 (03:50):
Now, Dwan is historic, no in seriousness, like he's the
largest man to ever have you know, went to the combine,
true as his facts.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
I did not make that up.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
His historic Look at you, Look at you pulling the stats.

Speaker 6 (04:05):
I was trying to be a big j journalist like
you man, all right, But Dwan is gonna be making
his first start now.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
In Kyleege he was a really good player.

Speaker 6 (04:13):
I think they had a crazy stat never gave up
a sack or something like that, you know, during this
time at Ohio State. But to me, man, he is
a big body, but more pot I think he's a
really good run blocker. He's not built the block TJ. Watt, though,
for four quarters. This is a matchup that TJ is
going to have to dominate, and I already anticipate him
doing that. But it's not gonna be in the traditional

(04:33):
sense of you're getting one on one and just cook
this guy for four quarters. Now, because Cleveland's not stupid.
They're stupid. If they leave Dwan Jones and TJ White
over there one about one the dance for four quarters,
they real stupid.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
I don't think they're that.

Speaker 6 (04:47):
I'm gonna operate with some you know, professional courtesy and
say they're gonna put tight ends. They're gonna do some
different you know, line movements or or post snap stuff
where Titans that come from backside they cross over to
just irritate TJ. Bunch formations. We saw even last week
with saying Frank how they would have Kittle.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
Lineup on the line, off the line.

Speaker 6 (05:07):
That in between of he's not really connected to the tackle,
but he's not really in the slide where do you
line up at.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
It's gonna be.

Speaker 6 (05:13):
A lot of that going on over there. That's the
TJ effect. That's TJ effect. But when they don't do
that stuff. Heck, even when they do this stuff, TJ
is still gonna get off. But specifically when they whenever
they try to not do that, make it look like
it's supposed to because that's the other part to this thing,
because that's how the turnovers happen. It's one thing to
get sex onething, to get pressure's wanted to get turnovers.

(05:36):
TJ has consistently shown that he doesn't just get sex,
he gets turn turnovers. And that's what we're gonna need
right there.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Yeah, we need some splash.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
We need to set up the offense and some advantageous situations,
steal some possessions. I'm with you on that one. Five
Star Friday Matter.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Number three O.

Speaker 6 (05:54):
I'm excited for this one because it's a great opportunity.
It's a great opportunity. Emphasis on the word opportunity. I
got Matt Canada versus Miles garrett Is and Darius Smith.
And not in the physical sense, because no, Matt Canada
doesn't take that fell, but he is the architect behind
this offense and knowing that we're either potentially gonna be

(06:16):
compromised with our lineup for the first time and you know,
a long time. Sure, I need to know how he's
planning to handle this, and you don't got to tell
me today now, but I'm gonna find out on Monday
night because if Broderick is out there, Broderick was a
or not was is a rookie who they did not

(06:38):
feel was qualified enough to be the Day one starter
just seven days ago and now here we are seven
days later, you about to be starting against arguably, you know,
a top three pass rusher in this league in Miles.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Garrett talk about being thrown into the fire.

Speaker 6 (06:53):
We talk about Dan Moore. We drafted Broderick because we
have not been one hundred percent status fought with the
work that Dan Moore has provided, and he might be
playing a different position this weekend. Right with that being
the case, Matt Canada, you got to figure out, man,
when do you use those tight ends twelve personnel pat

(07:16):
if he's available, because we know he's dealing with the
you know, the chess contusion stuff like that from the game.
But Darnell Washington, how do you align those bunch formations?
Where do you utilize Connor Hayward in terms of helping
out with some of this stuff. Those are some of
the things that I'll be interested to see for Matt Canada.
But he's capable because I've seen him do these type
of things before. But he has to be more consistent

(07:37):
as well. But that is kind of the theme right
now with our team right now, especially on offense.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
They're just young.

Speaker 6 (07:44):
They're young, and they're they're proven it and we're seeing
glimpse of it, and we want to expet at it
so badly. We wanted to happen like yesterday. But you
cannot fast forward the process, so you can't.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
You can't gotta let it happen.

Speaker 6 (07:57):
We have these learning experiences the same way we taught
about them. Preseason games has learning experiences. The lack of
adversity has learning experience. Well, now we've had adversity, that's
a learning experience. This is a new opportunity. Let's grow
from the lessons that we've had. But specifically for Mad Canada,
you gotta be smart. The same why I said, if
you have TJ. Watt solo versus Dewan Jones for four quarter,

(08:19):
You're stupid.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
What do you think I'm gonna be saying?

Speaker 6 (08:22):
If I see Miles Garrett or is it there some
fight at four quarters versus Broderck Jones or Damn Moore
if he's playing a new position, how do you think
I'm a feel about that?

Speaker 4 (08:29):
West?

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Now you know what?

Speaker 4 (08:30):
Okay, So we're not gonna go there because I want
to keep the energy good.

Speaker 6 (08:33):
On a Friday.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
Once again, spot on, I completely concur You know there's
someone on this program that likes to say progress isn't
always linear.

Speaker 6 (08:45):
Right mm hmm.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
And hopefully last week was just one of those two
steps back to come out this week and take five
steps forward.

Speaker 6 (08:51):
I like it when you want a two step.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
Five start Friday matchup Numero Quadra.

Speaker 6 (08:58):
Well, we've been hitting into talking about him throughout loosely,
not directly, but more importantly, Can.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Kenny Kenneth Shane Pickett.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
Is everything's middle name, Shane.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
Listen, you know I only say people's full government names
when I know to be their full moment name, like
Trent Jordan Watt. It's just like Arthur Nathan.

Speaker 6 (09:23):
I still be learning this. This is immedia thing. I'm like,
that's definitely immediate thing. Well I'm gonna say the whole name.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
I'm like, no, can I can? I?

Speaker 6 (09:29):
Can?

Speaker 2 (09:30):
I actually can? I actually tell you why? I know that?
Because the what did Carter call him? The Church of
Kenny Church.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
Kenny on Twitter likes to call him Kenneth Shane when
he you know, when he makes him when he's strutting
across the field like Connor McGregor and that man the
Church Church of Kenny on social media is the reason.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
But but we got we got my name Todd Roethlisberger.
See that's the noting.

Speaker 6 (09:54):
I'm like, I never knew his name was that to you,
I'm like brobbing his teammate for how many years?

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Patrick Crosby, Bro, that's scary.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
Who else you know? Michael Jorge was Michael.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
Michael jeffre Jordan? You know that one?

Speaker 4 (10:04):
Lebron No clue, Kobe.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
No clue. I think I might be running out.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
I mean I could tell you, like my family member's
middle names.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
I can tell you my family just.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Lean back, laughing so hard. His bucket hat fell off
in the studio. That's what I know.

Speaker 6 (10:21):
I got him because you said it was such like
so in it sit with the straight face, like I
know my family name, what I know you?

Speaker 2 (10:30):
I think I think I'm out. I think I got.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
Like live, I know, live in a little little morgangs.

Speaker 7 (10:35):
You work any one of those like leave me alone, man, Jeff,
leave me alone, jeez man?

Speaker 4 (10:43):
But AnyWho can you Pickett man another opportunity.

Speaker 6 (10:50):
I like this opportunity a lot better than last week
because with these guys over here, he's more familiar with
and it's more potently the brown secondary. He knows his
brown secondary. He's had success against his brown secondary and
the brown secondary on paper, they have names. Denzel Ward
is their name, Grant Delpit is their name. Greg Newsom
is their name. They're nice names.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
All first and second round picks.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
They're nice names. But that is literally it.

Speaker 6 (11:18):
There is nothing that is scary boogieman is about anything
over in their secondary.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
With all due.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
Respect, he through the all due respect in there.

Speaker 6 (11:29):
Do they play with confidence when they're leading, Yes, a
lot of people do. We call them front runners, but
you will also see this team in specifically that secondary.
I don't believe in that confidence because I've personally seen
it too many times where when they've given up stuff,
it starts to just snowball on them and they put
that head down. And that's one of the things to me, man,

(11:51):
where I'm saying Kenny take advantage It is be smart though,
because they will take advantage of your mistakes.

Speaker 4 (11:59):
They definitely would do that.

Speaker 6 (12:00):
But they aren't good enough to feel like they could
just come out here and just man, we're gonna play
man the man couple one over here and worry about
shutting out the rent because we don't think Kenny's good
enough to beat us. Nah, they do that, man, that's disrespect.
And I believe that Kenny has the timing to cut
you off like that.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
But I didn't realize you were like you need to
blow your man. I think that you were done or
if he just needed a second to me.

Speaker 6 (12:23):
Man, It's like with Kenny Man, Kenny has already shown
certain things and last week was not that. So why
not go out here and write that wrong? Versus a
division foe that you're very familiar and have had success.
You think about Kenny last year. You could make a
case of the last game, but the season was his best
game and who was he going against? Who was he

(12:44):
putting up numbers against? Okay, And so for me, when
I see this team and I see Kenny, I'm like, bro,
you know what this is. And not to mention, you know,
GP can have a little Adam motivation out there him
and a little corn over. They had a little social
media in front of Sason. So I can't wait to
see that too.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
You know, that's a good point by you that I considered.
You know, Kenny, a big part of kickstarting the optimism
for him this offseason was that final performance against these Browns.
Hopefully that can be a big part of kick starting
him this season as well too.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
I love it. Five Staff Ride Day.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
Matchup number five, Dashawan Watson versus Minca Fitzpatrick.

Speaker 4 (13:28):
Let's go. Dashawn is getting better.

Speaker 6 (13:34):
He's not Houston DeShawn Joshad where you know, leading the
league in passing athleticism, can make all the throws and
all that perfect decision making. But he is vastly improved
from last season. He just looks like he had an
off season a football practice, being around his team normally
playing games. Again, the rest is coming off a lot

(13:55):
faster this time than it was last year. But he
still makes the occasional mistake because that rust is still
not completely gone. And if you look back to his
tape when he was in Houston, it was similar stuff there.
Elite athleticisms can make all the throws, but on occasion, Man,
because of the confidence in his arm and just risk management,

(14:16):
sometimes he takes some chances with it. You remember back
when we played him him with the Texans, we caught
an interception right here.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
I believe it was Miko fits Pasion that did that.

Speaker 6 (14:23):
Then well, well, well why not return to the scene
of the crime at this time to do it with
the little nighttime action because for e fact, man, the
way that we like to run our particular coverages with
the cover one, the robber technique, we like to have
Minca being the guy that inserts over the line of
scrimmage about ten yards back and watch the quarterback. Guys right,

(14:44):
we've seen the highlights of him jumping plays. In fact,
I think vividly about the Baker Mayfield pick six Minka
Lowell robber ball.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
Baker never looks him off.

Speaker 6 (14:57):
He's sitting in the middle of the field, and as
soon as Baker opens up, he breaks, catches it, takes
it to the house, up the tone, and we know
what the rest did. Why can that not happen again?
I think it can, and I think it will. I'm
not saying it's about to be the first, you know
how that was necessary, But I do feel like the
pressure that we're talking about with high Smith and TJ

(15:19):
and if our offense is doing what we're supposed to
do and making that Browns team have to throw the football,
that's gonna be very much on the table. Man, very
much on the table. So that's why I got my
man mink.

Speaker 4 (15:30):
Let's go, baby, Let's.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
Go, Let's hop Pestry repeats himself.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
All right, mo see one more time before we go
to break, for those who just want to double check
their notes or who might have joined us late. The
five star matchups that will determine the outcome of Steelers
Browns Monday Night.

Speaker 4 (15:42):
Asking it.

Speaker 6 (15:43):
We got Alex high Smith versus Jedrick Wills. Gotta win
that one, Gotta dominate that one. Then after that we
spin in the block. Give me TJ. Watt versus Dope
one Jones. Make the rookie look like a rookie.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
Man.

Speaker 6 (15:57):
From there, we going Matt Canada versus Mouth Garrett ends it,
Darius Smith, Come on, coach Canada, don't leave our tackles
out there to dry. Schematically protect them dudes, pre snap,
post snap. Man, do what you know how you were
able to do it. Cook it up for a time, man,
cook them up, and then from there, man, let's spend
the block also and stick what you're running. Make k
P eight versus Don Brownie's or the Elves whatever when

(16:21):
you want to call them their secondary Okay, protect the ball,
be aggressive, play how you're capable of playing.

Speaker 5 (16:26):
Bro.

Speaker 4 (16:27):
That's not you last week. Be who we know you are.

Speaker 6 (16:29):
Thank you and then last, but certainly not least, Deshaun
Watson versus me and CoA Fitzpatrick. Go ahead and get
your foot your hands on the football men, because you
know how you do. He'll go ahead and er mell
it to you. You just go ahead and receive it.
That's all, that's all, and it'll be a great day.
We're humbled and excited to be in these five star matchups,

(16:50):
five star matchup.

Speaker 4 (16:51):
Somebody leaving here with the loss not gonna be us.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
Brian Becko on the other side.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
In just a minute, it's the Steelers Blitz on SNR.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
This is the Steeler's Blitz with Wesley Euler and Arthur
Motes on your twenty four to seven Home of the
Black and Gold s n R.

Speaker 3 (17:30):
I like this as you like. This is the new
official intro song with mister mister Baco. This work for
you going forward.

Speaker 5 (17:38):
I can't hear it? Great? What is it?

Speaker 2 (17:40):
Hold on? Is that better now? Better now?

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Not?

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Better now? Maybe not?

Speaker 3 (17:46):
It's like a it's like a Biggie Smalls sounding ish beat.

Speaker 7 (17:51):
Oh yeah, it does kind of sound like dipnocats.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
That's what we were thinking too, is maybe we use
this as the official sound bet here.

Speaker 7 (17:59):
That's one of my that's always one of my go
to party starters for sure.

Speaker 4 (18:02):
There we go.

Speaker 7 (18:03):
It's a great jump off the ox yees do the
ox at like a you know, a party bus or
at a house party or something at the pool. Hypnotized
is a great go to. That's free game for you listeners.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
It's a great one.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
It's a great one on the touch tunes at the
bar too, to get everybody's head nod and and maybe
with mister Baco and I are I don't know out
in one of our road trips, we'll we'll have to get.

Speaker 6 (18:25):
It jumping off on the touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
Now, mister Baco, to put you on the spot real quick,
you told us when we called you, when we called
you during break, you told us that that you were
going bowling with your son after this, little Dawson after this.
So we got a question earlier in the week on
Wednesday from one of our listeners, what's.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
The best score you've ever bowled? That answer for you
would be.

Speaker 7 (18:45):
Oh interesting timing that that's that's both happening. But mine's
an easy one because it's it's a pretty like basic
round number, so it's easy to remember I put up
a one to fifty one time back when I was okay,
I was probably in like high school, maybe even a
little younger when I was, you know, back then at
that age, I feel like you go a lot. And yeah,
I was in a little bit of a groove and

(19:05):
I've I've never gotten.

Speaker 5 (19:07):
To that high water mark.

Speaker 7 (19:08):
Again, I'm not particularly good.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
Yeah, I think that's about all of us in here
as well.

Speaker 6 (19:13):
Man on the same page, well, on the same page.

Speaker 5 (19:18):
But other maybe I'll put up like a two. Maybe
I'll put up two bills today.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
Get you Jerome Betison out there, what do you think?

Speaker 6 (19:24):
No, man, first off, we got we gotta do some detail.
Let me let me dive in real quick. All right,
do you own your own bowling ball? Okay? Okay, cokay,
so then you can't bowler Jerome Bettist then, babe, because
because Bussy come with like thirty different bowling balls, he
got like two different shoes. He was like, yo, this
is this the first time. This is the first couple
of shoes and one for the ease. Other here dumb

(19:45):
switch the shoes with the hit. I'm like, hey, if
you like, I got the full game, what's your towel game.
Look like, do you like the personalized towel to hang
out the ball?

Speaker 5 (19:54):
No?

Speaker 7 (19:54):
I like, probably use a napkin. We're talking, then get
blasted by that little air vent.

Speaker 4 (20:06):
Love it, love it without adult right there? Now you
speaking my language all right, because you had me nerves
when you say he's gonna throw out them two bills.

Speaker 6 (20:13):
Like, I'm like, bro, I just things wrong, Like he
get active when he bowling, but it's it's like a
whole Yeah, he got like a whole production when he bowling.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
Yeah, I believe. I believe he's bold perfect games, right, Jerome,
he's got a yeah.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
I think so.

Speaker 5 (20:30):
I'd be happy with it. I'd be happy with too.

Speaker 6 (20:32):
Respect. Respect.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
You ain't lying, all right, mister Baco uh familiar foe
on Monday Night. I mean this one really starts for
both teams in the trenches, right. Both teams want to
be able to run the football and control the clock
and control the tempo that way, and be able to
stop the run and make the other opposing quarterback have
to beat them with his arm throw the ball forty sometimes, right.
I mean, this is one of those matchups there's not
a lot of uh unknown around how both these teams

(20:58):
want the script to go on Monday Night.

Speaker 7 (21:00):
No, I mean other than the fact that, yeah, both
teams went out try to make improvements this offseason. There
are some new faces on both sides of that line
of scrimmage equation. Particularly, I mean early returns good for
the Browns better than they are for the Steelers. When
you look at Dalvin Tomlinson and Zadarius Smith coming in
there in the front four, those are some those are

(21:20):
some big bodies to be reckoned with up there, whereas
you know, Isaac Saamalo's addition, and you know, a couple
snaps of Broaderick Jones didn't go as well for the Steelers.

Speaker 5 (21:29):
But this is why you beefed up. This is why
you did try to put an emphasis.

Speaker 7 (21:33):
On your your O line and your D line because
that's where you win games in the AFC North. And
it's not gonna be easy Monday night, especially when you're
losing Cam Hayward on one side of it, and the Browns,
you know, they lose Jack Conklin, so that's a little
bit of a one for one swap there.

Speaker 5 (21:49):
But you know, Dewan Jones looks like he's no slouch.
Coming out of Ohio State.

Speaker 7 (21:53):
So I'm very very intrigued by a lot of the
individual matchups in this one.

Speaker 6 (21:57):
No, without a doubt, Man, I do agree there are
some very intriguing matchups out here. Man.

Speaker 7 (22:02):
And speaking of you have the Wyatt Teller from the Browns.
Have you ever got taken for a ride like that?

Speaker 6 (22:08):
That was?

Speaker 5 (22:09):
That was? You know who was fifth pumping?

Speaker 7 (22:11):
Probably was our guy Matt Canada was.

Speaker 5 (22:14):
Smain Fratt who got taken from one bus stop to
the next by Wyatt Teller. And apparently he and Canada
have some some.

Speaker 7 (22:22):
Long long overdue beam in the oven because it was
criticizing Canada for running the same play last season, or
he was he shouted out on the field whatever.

Speaker 6 (22:32):
That Yeah, yeah, with the.

Speaker 7 (22:34):
Canada wrapping up Wyatt Teller pregame, I guess that.

Speaker 4 (22:37):
Was respect respect. I like that right there. I definitely do, man.

Speaker 6 (22:42):
But speaking of this year matchup, Man, what has the
morale been in the facility?

Speaker 5 (22:48):
Man?

Speaker 4 (22:48):
This week?

Speaker 5 (22:48):
Man?

Speaker 6 (22:48):
With the guys, uh, we obviously know coming off of
the loss, and you talked about some of the injuries, right, No,
Cam this week, we know Deontay Hammy's probably gonna be
unavailable man, So what has the energy level been down
on the South Side life.

Speaker 7 (23:04):
I don't know that it's particularly down. It's probably reminiscent
of this time last year when TJ. Watt went out,
although I recall from then, you know what was still
around and still seemed pretty chipper the following week, whereas
you know, I didn't see Cam yesterday. I'm sure he
will be in good spirits once he's back. But I
think it's a double edged sword. I think on one hand,

(23:25):
guys were like, look, that week's behind us. You know,
Minka Fitzpatrick was telling me, Look, football's got one hundred
percent injury rate, Like it's gonna happen. You just got
to move on, pick up the pieces and find a
way to get it done. But at the same time,
I mean, losing somebody like Cam that's got to be
deflating for the players. I mean, that's deflating for anybody
who just follows this team a lot. I mean even

(23:45):
me as a you know, unbiased media member, like everybody
can appreciate Cam and what he's doing and how he
continues to play at a high level and what he's
still chasing at this point in his career.

Speaker 5 (23:56):
Both individually and team goal wise, and to see it.

Speaker 7 (24:00):
Taken from him at like this point, you know, and
it's not gonna be season ending, probably, but.

Speaker 5 (24:04):
It's still just unfair. It's it's a shame.

Speaker 7 (24:06):
So I wouldn't blame anybody if if it's a little
bit of a mix of dejection but also kind of
a quiet motivation to write the ship.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
I think that's well said.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
Man, that's a that's a tough one to endure early
on in the season. But you're right, you want to
still have all your goals in front of you when
that guy gets back, right, you want Cam to aggress
have him aggressively attack that rehab, and then you get
him back in the stretch, run right when you need him,
hopefully with everything still in front of you. And you
got to start on Monday night getting that moving in

(24:38):
the right direction other side of the football, mister Baco.
You know, guys, you hear a lot about students of
the game, right, Well, I like to think in this industry,
I'm a student of the game. You know, you can't
get you can't get better as an athlete without watching
your tape, without studying your opponents. You know, in this
business too, you got to study your own tape. You
gotta do some scouting, You got to listen to what

(24:59):
everybody else is talking ab well, you know, mostly from
time to time, one of those places that I go
to for other opinions, for other conversations is a north
Shore Drive podcast.

Speaker 4 (25:06):
Well well, well with two of our.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
Good friends, Brian Baco and c C himself, Chris Carter.

Speaker 6 (25:11):
Huh might be familiar with both of those gentlemen.

Speaker 3 (25:12):
Now, mister Baco, on this week's edition, I believe the
latest edition of the north Shore Drive podcast, you were
talking about why George Pickens is ripe to have a
big game on Monday Night.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
Why is that? Cousin?

Speaker 7 (25:26):
Well, I think, I mean number one with Deontay Johnson out,
that takes away a lot of Kenny Pickett's first look
on a lot of plays. I mean, that's that's your
first read, your first progression oftentimes.

Speaker 5 (25:37):
You know, not only because he's.

Speaker 7 (25:38):
Got the track record of one hundred sum targets, thousand
yard receiving seasons. So you got to get that guy
so many touches. Now you take him out of the mix,
and that's got to be George Pickens.

Speaker 5 (25:48):
And they were already.

Speaker 7 (25:50):
I think jockeying a little bit for you know, who's
going to be the most targeted, most featured.

Speaker 5 (25:54):
Receiver on this team. That's not even a question to
me anymore at this point.

Speaker 7 (25:59):
So, I mean, he's got to be getting an absolute
uh you know, just force feeding of targets this week,
and that means you know, you're not gonna throw twenty
go balls, but uh, you know, diversify his route tree,
get him on some slants, get him on some comebacks,
get him on some posts.

Speaker 5 (26:16):
And if he you know, if he.

Speaker 7 (26:17):
Doesn't create the separation needed for those players to work,
that's on him. But at least you can't say, if
you're Matt Canada and Kenny Pickett that he didn't try.
So I think he is going to be able to
rise to that occasion, and you know it's gonna be
funneled through him in a lot of ways. You know,
you want to be a balanced offense, you want to
have more than one weapon to stress the defense. But
it at least if you've got a guy with that

(26:38):
amount of talent who you're looking to constantly, good things
should happen.

Speaker 6 (26:42):
Now I'm hoping so as well, man, we definitely go
need them good things, man, for a fact, But I
gotta take it to the other side of the ball man.

Speaker 4 (26:50):
J P J. Are we gonna see more of him?
Are we gonna keep it at these? Uh? You know,
ten or less snaps?

Speaker 7 (26:58):
I don't think I can't see much less than seven snaps, right,
I mean, so or that's you know, set in the.

Speaker 5 (27:05):
Bar pretty low.

Speaker 7 (27:05):
It's kind of like how Mack Cannada said yesterday at
his press briefing that he has no doubt it's going
to be better. It's like, well, geez, I mean, eight
points would technically be better. So maybe let's shoot shoot
a little higher than that statement. But I think with
Joey Porter Junior, you know, I wasn't particularly encouraged by
the way Mike Tomlin and Tarol Austin answered questions about
him this week. You know, Tomlin basically said, look, that's our.

Speaker 5 (27:27):
Dime package that includes.

Speaker 7 (27:29):
Him, and we didn't have a chance to do it much.
And then Tarall Austin said, that's kind of where he
is right now. But I will leave open the possibility
that number one, maybe both those smart football defensive minds
are sandbagging a little bit to make the outside world
think that he won't be getting an increase in snaps
at number two. I just think that there's gonna be

(27:49):
a quicker hook, whether it's Levi Wallace or Patrick Peterson,
probably more so Peterson at that point.

Speaker 5 (27:57):
If you're giving up big.

Speaker 7 (27:58):
Touchdown catches again, then you know that's why you use
the first pick of the second round, and you didn't
trade it because you wanted to bolster your cornerback depth
with the player that you think can step in from
week one, year one and help you out. So you know,
if there's if they're getting uh you know, assaulted over
the middle or down the sideline the way they were

(28:19):
by Brandon, I you can rock party, make the change,
make the tweaks.

Speaker 5 (28:22):
See if you can stop that bleeding old baby.

Speaker 3 (28:25):
It's gonna be interesting, without a doubt. All right, mister Baco,
before we let you go, I know it's still early.
It's it's it's even earlier in this process than we
typically asked.

Speaker 6 (28:34):
You know, it's not we're just going to visualize in
a tech visually. We're not seeking comfort.

Speaker 2 (28:40):
Come on, cut your eyelids off and tell me what
happens on Monday night.

Speaker 7 (28:42):
Yeah, all right, you know you guys were getting on
me a little bit last week.

Speaker 6 (28:48):
Oh no, all right, right, laden ladies and gentlemen, This
is Brian Baco of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette talking.

Speaker 4 (28:55):
This is not Wesley Hey, this is this is Brian
Bacho talking. So so just listen to him.

Speaker 6 (29:03):
This is not us. All right, we're clear.

Speaker 7 (29:05):
We'll say my my forty nine Ers victory prediction last week.

Speaker 5 (29:09):
It proved to be correct.

Speaker 4 (29:10):
He's rubbing your face stealing nation. He's rubbing your face
in it.

Speaker 7 (29:15):
I don't claim to be the voice of reason, because
it wasn't like reasonable to pick the Steelers last week
by any means, and I thought it was going to
be a lot closer than it was, of course, But
I guess I'm more of just the voice of like
objectivity here, and you know, just a cold hard look
at every matchup.

Speaker 5 (29:31):
And when I take that cold hard look.

Speaker 7 (29:33):
At Steelers Browns, part of me goes toward all of
the you know, Monday night football home success twenty in
a row, and the Browns, well, I don't put much
stock in the Browns having not won a regular season
game here in eighteen years, because they want a playoff
game here, which is actually way more significant.

Speaker 6 (29:50):
So sure, no, no, no, it's all perspective. We didn't
care what that playoff game like that they didn't count.
We care what that.

Speaker 7 (29:58):
Either way, there are a lot of factors in and
just you know, the Steelers tend to rise back in
a big way from blowouts like that against the Niners
Tomin's four and oh the last couple of seasons after
losing by.

Speaker 5 (30:09):
I think it's twenty or more correct. All that said, though,
I still have.

Speaker 7 (30:13):
To look at the jimmy's and the jokes and the
x'es and o's, and I think it's a be difficult
for the Steelers in this one as they're looking their
wounds from the Deontay Johnson and Cam Hayward injury. So
I'll say Brown's pull out a squeaker twenty seven six.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
Steelers cover heard out, Steelers cover Brown's within your Heart.
He love it to our buddy, Brian Backo, buddy, thank
you so much for the time. As always, you guys
know where to find his work in the PG. He
doesn't do cap He hasn't changed his numbers since the
seventh grade. We'll see it at the game on Monday.

Speaker 4 (30:42):
And this is two weeks in a row. He didn't picky.

Speaker 7 (30:46):
Yeah, I hate, I hate to be the bearer of
bad predictions. And fortunately for you guys and all the listeners,
you know, maybe I'll be wrong, but we'll see.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
Hey go bawl of three hundred, all.

Speaker 5 (30:56):
Right, I'll do my best.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
It was, it is is a good friend of the show,
mister Brian Becko. Great stuff with him. As always, we
gotta run on the other side. It's time to sing
that here we Go song. Get to your predictions and
give ours before we get up out of here as
well too. You're listening to Steelers Blitz on SNR and
nine to seventy ESPN, Pittsburgh.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
This is the Steelers Blitz with Wesley Euler and Arthur
Motes on your twenty four to seven home of the
Black and Gold scan R.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
So much to get to in so little time.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
Let me cut this music because we gotta get into
the business here before we get to your prediction tweets
and give ours. You already know what it is. It's
the here we Go song. Now it's fifth year in
Steelers Blitz lore week number two. Leave cooking Baby, listen
and I'll be completely honest with you completely transparent. It's

(31:58):
a little bit more difficult for the Brianus now because
I've sung I mean, this is like the what the
tenth or eleventh different Broad ninth Browns hype song Brown's
here we Go song that I've done in.

Speaker 6 (32:08):
The Secret, Tell Me Secret. We do not care your
darn right.

Speaker 3 (32:13):
So that's why I had to get in the lab
for this one. And I think I'm ready, my strong buck,
can I get a beat?

Speaker 8 (32:23):
I go, Here we go, Here we go, Here we go,
steal us, here we go.

Speaker 3 (32:40):
Picks Berks going to the supersle we go Browns.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
In town on Bday night.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
Here we Topians are ready for a fight. Here We're yeah, Cleveland,
thanks that this is their year. We're gonna send them
home with nothing but their tears.

Speaker 4 (32:59):
Here, boy, you know they finn be crying out there.
It's fen to be so so set on a Monday night.
Have you ever seen an olf cry? Well, you're gonna
see the olf cock on Monday night because he definitelyin't
gonna fly.

Speaker 6 (33:08):
But you know where in verse two West and I
hope since they bring in that white they know it's gonna.

Speaker 4 (33:12):
Be like brown doodoo on that uniform. But go ahead,
do what you do, he would go them boone.

Speaker 3 (33:16):
You shouldn't have the start that we wanted. Here we
go now and I seen north wind must be hunted.
Here we go, a strap up and get ready to
roll that offensive line.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
Better clear some holes.

Speaker 3 (33:31):
Here we go.

Speaker 4 (33:32):
You know we got road gradest up front.

Speaker 6 (33:34):
You heard of a guy by the name of Isa
say you model James Daniel and especially at Mason coach.

Speaker 4 (33:39):
Well, Naji Harris, you know what it's time to do. Better,
runner in the hole. Let's get it.

Speaker 6 (33:45):
Let's get it, but.

Speaker 4 (33:46):
Finish off me first. Let's get it one time West.

Speaker 2 (33:48):
Yeah, these Browns fans are getting real loud.

Speaker 4 (33:51):
They loud, but boom, all of.

Speaker 2 (33:52):
A sudden, they sue burn proud.

Speaker 4 (33:55):
Oh now they got confidence.

Speaker 2 (33:56):
Time to knock him down a peg.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
You'll see as the Steelers claim another victor.

Speaker 6 (34:05):
Boom.

Speaker 4 (34:06):
I can't stand when they got all this confidence, all
of the said the man.

Speaker 6 (34:09):
They never felt confident in fact, one time they got
confers when they got that brown bag on their head.
Audi dogs this week, Audio color this week, or Audi
a elf this week. And the only elms I like
are the cubler ones or the ones that work with
Santa Claus.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
Now we're the ones in Lord of the Rings.

Speaker 4 (34:28):
Now they are scary. Theyre's so aggressive for me. But
it's got to be a long.

Speaker 6 (34:33):
Long way. It's a bad night to be a brown
Come on down, baby, Come on now, baby.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
Arthur Mo Carlos makes a good point here on Twitter.
He says, PS don't get cut off this week.

Speaker 4 (34:44):
Oh good call, good call.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
So let's get We're.

Speaker 4 (34:47):
Not gonna make the same mistakes this week that we
made last week, all right.

Speaker 3 (34:49):
Carlos also adds, I gotta get on this college fund
that you guys have. Go Oregon State, all right. How
about the Beeves, Let's go Beeves. Carlos says last week
was brutal to watch Steelers gonna win by the hair
of their chinny chin chin, seventeen to thirteen over the Browns.

Speaker 6 (35:04):
Let's go wish it was a little nine thirteen actually easy.

Speaker 5 (35:07):
Bad.

Speaker 6 (35:07):
I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
You really got to put that out there.

Speaker 4 (35:10):
I'm sorry, Cuban Dan.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
Tweets us Dotley.

Speaker 3 (35:16):
In years past, it wouldn't bother me when Brian Becko
picked against the Steelers because he was commonly wrong.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
This better not be a new trend.

Speaker 6 (35:22):
Yeah, we don't need him to start getting these right,
because he always picks against.

Speaker 3 (35:25):
Like Steelers twenty eight elves nineteen Steelers versus the world,
says Cuban Dad.

Speaker 6 (35:31):
They still to elves. You heard what Jamar said, They
the elves. I'm mad we got beat by some elves,
but they still elves.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
But they still elves.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
Our buddy Rod Dollas score prediction Rod Shery line, Oh.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
No, he's got twenty four to seventeen browns. Ooh, we
say it ain't so.

Speaker 4 (35:46):
Rod Yankesy right that?

Speaker 6 (35:48):
What was that about?

Speaker 5 (35:48):
Rod?

Speaker 3 (35:50):
My buddy Steeler Nation nine twenty The Bear of beers
and cheese curds as he shall be big facts, henceforth
known twenty one to seventeen. Good Guys, TJ Gonna show
Miles Garrett who the real daddy is? Who Rod another
three piece? Two of those strip sacks. Isaiah loudermilk step
step step steps up in Cam's absence and plays a
big game. According to Tyler Nick Chubb under eighty.

Speaker 4 (36:13):
Yards, let's go to cannon milk man, let's go.

Speaker 2 (36:15):
He says, who ride and go? Ears?

Speaker 4 (36:17):
He d let's go go ears?

Speaker 2 (36:21):
Please look ears and beers please all right, let's see here.
Who else is up next?

Speaker 3 (36:26):
Annie tweets in Steelers squeak by the Browns twenty four
to twenty one TJ three sacks high Smith, one sack
Meca interception.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
She was listening.

Speaker 4 (36:34):
She talked, you speaking my language. I hate you over there.

Speaker 3 (36:38):
And he also says beat Pitt, I mean you guys.
I'll tell you what you just warm my heart. Sometimes
I'm about to get a handful of thirteen.

Speaker 5 (36:45):
To nine.

Speaker 3 (36:47):
Tweets us who says revenge like Gaspacho is best served.

Speaker 4 (36:52):
Call wow.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
He said.

Speaker 3 (36:55):
The Steelers offense will be frustrating at times, but better.
Chubb goes for one hundred and thirty yards and two touchdowns,
but it's not enough. Steelers win nineteen seventeen.

Speaker 4 (37:04):
Man, can we make it that?

Speaker 2 (37:07):
Cory Mozie, look, we got another one.

Speaker 3 (37:10):
Big Ron tweets and says Steelers twenty four brown seventeen
Minka with the game stealing interception.

Speaker 2 (37:16):
Also Q Country runs Tomorrow night.

Speaker 4 (37:18):
You know what happens when you hear Country Rose being played.

Speaker 2 (37:20):
It's too late.

Speaker 4 (37:22):
You know what that means when you hear Country Rose
being played?

Speaker 3 (37:25):
Come on, baby, folkshiz Alaska, our buddy way up there
in the Northwest. Steelers thirty four, Brown seventeen because we're
twice as good as them.

Speaker 4 (37:34):
Oh, I see what you're doing.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
Well, Cocky there, I like it. Little cocky there, I
like it. Rudy tweets us and says, Steelers twenty one.
Brown's seventeen. Two touchdowns to Pat Friarmouth, Watt and hig
Smith combined for four sacks. Bill tweets us and says, oh, no,
twenty one to twenty bad guys. He said, we feel
better about getting on track. I think Kenny throws his

(37:57):
first multiple passing touchdown game in the nah Okay, he says,
but we have a chance to go for the win
with a two point conversion and come up short. Wow,
that's a specific prediction.

Speaker 4 (38:07):
That kind of hurt for Bill there, That would that
kind of hurt.

Speaker 5 (38:10):
That would hurt.

Speaker 3 (38:12):
D Hev tweets us and says, gimme Pittsburgh thirty three,
Cleveland twenty one.

Speaker 2 (38:17):
Kenny getting back on track against the clowns.

Speaker 4 (38:21):
There we go.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
Huh zach, let's see last refresh here. Wait hold on,
we got wait wait wait wait. C C Rider tweets us,
Oh no, score prediction says If we win, I think
it'll be because the defense shuts down the run. I
would concur. All right, one last refresh here, Zach is
the last one to get it in today. I'm checking

(38:45):
in from anime territory here in Cleveland. They're talking massive trash.
It's okay, but we're gonna get it done and get
the last last Steelers twenty Brown's fourteen. There we go,
all right, Mozi. Earlier in the show, I picked Steelers
two and a half. Right, you're a real strategic get
specific about it.

Speaker 5 (39:02):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
Unfortunately I gotta be that guy, though for some reason
I will I was, Folks, I'm not lying to you.
I'm not making this up. I woke up this morning,
all right, should say all this week I had been
planning on you know the Mike Tomlins stat, you know
the Monday night football stat, you know the Browns regular
season stat. This is the type of the game, the
Steelers always winning.

Speaker 2 (39:22):
Baby.

Speaker 3 (39:23):
Something today told me this team's gonna get better. This
offense is gonna get better. But it's gonna start next week.
When you guys are.

Speaker 2 (39:31):
Out there and began to do that.

Speaker 4 (39:33):
Don't you do that?

Speaker 3 (39:34):
Now? The Steelers do cover, but much like Bill twenty
one twenty ew the mistake by the lake and now
I need to go shower.

Speaker 4 (39:47):
Why would you do something I'm.

Speaker 2 (39:48):
Gonna edit this part out of the podcast, so nobody
else here.

Speaker 3 (39:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (39:51):
I can't believe you would do such a thing like that. Man,
I thought I knew you, clearly. I don't think you
know a guy clearly.

Speaker 4 (39:55):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (39:57):
I don't like to do it, but I just you know,
you gotta roll with you gut, and my guts tells
me the Steelers start rolling.

Speaker 6 (40:04):
You need to get you after Monday night.

Speaker 4 (40:06):
If you got naja upset stomach, that was you, guy.

Speaker 6 (40:11):
You need to a busmore field stumbing mah on, trust
your stomach, no.

Speaker 3 (40:15):
More who you got Arthur Motes before we get out
of here and get cut off by Colin Cowhard.

Speaker 6 (40:19):
No, it's not the truth, man, But ultimately for me, man,
I do think it's a close back and forth game.

Speaker 4 (40:23):
But I am gonna lead.

Speaker 6 (40:24):
On the side of statistics, on the side of history,
and on the side of we can't have another performance
like last week, so let me get your good guys.
Getting up out of that thing is ugly, but we
find a way. Twenty one twenty. I need that field
hit at the end.

Speaker 2 (40:38):
Yes, the same score you and I had.

Speaker 4 (40:40):
Oh yeah yeah, but I got his the game.

Speaker 2 (40:41):
When it films well, we will see who's correct.

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
