Speaker 1 (00:20):
This is the Steeler's Blitz with Wesley Euler and Arthur
Motes on your twenty four to seven Home of the
Black and Gold skn R.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Arthur Motes, Wesley Euler Still's Nation Radio nine seventy am.
That's a very very familiar sound it instrumentally, Yeah, really
really familiar.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
So this is you know, there's doctor Peer, like very
very very now there's Doctor Pepper, and then there's Doctor Thunder.
You know what I'm talking about is this is this
the little Papa to Big Papa.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
You got doctor Pepper, you got that with it, Mister Pibb,
you got cocon got cola.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
Yeah, you've got like fruit loops and then you've got
fruit ropes.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Yeah, you know what I'm saying. Like it just it
seems like I've heard this song.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
Whoever was cooking up this non licensed instrumental beat was
definitely listened to some some biggie that day Ready to
Die might have been streaming on the vinyl.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
Just said, streaming on the vinyl. Yeah, ignore that one.
But yes, it is funny. How you know. Again, we've
got this whole We'll pick some dedicated ones that we'll
use throughout the show. This one. This one's got a
good this one's got a good chance of hanging around.
But yeah, you're right. It is funny how some of
these beats You're like, oh, that sounds just like huh,
you know what it is. It's like, all right, copy
(01:47):
my homework, but change some of the answer so the
teacher doesn't notice much wanted to answers. Change a couple
all right, you know what, use this beat, but just
change the key so that the music licensing gods don't notice.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
That is it?
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Man?
Speaker 2 (01:59):
That is it? But I do like the tunes though.
Man's excellent selection by the produce. It in Thank you
studio today.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
Thank you. You know how a lot of people have
always said, man, I wish you guys had a camera
so we could see you laughing and follow those different
things and what's going on during break and all that.
If you had a camera these last couple of shows,
all you would see during break is MOTI and I.
I mean, this is VI this lie. It literally has
five nine hundred and nineteen different This is just wrap
beat tracks.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Yeah, not not country tracks, not folk, not rock and roll.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
M it's just just wrap almost six thousand rap only
beats in this system. And so every time we go
to break Moti and High, we just rolled this one. No,
this one, no, this one. Oh that sounds like a
biggie beat.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
I like that.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
All right, let's come.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Back with that. So that's that's what takes place right now.
Who knows it takes place doing other breaks. But either
way though, man, you know, we keeping the party rolling,
keeping the excitement going along. And uh, we were taking
some phone calls in the previous segment. We obviously have
been continuing to have your interaction. We don't want to
keep you waiting much longer. So we did see some
(03:02):
of the tweets coming in on the Twitter dot com.
As we talked about earlier, we like our show to
be interactive, so we are going to transition in see
what y'all got going on on at Twitter dot com. Uh,
I believe it's time to say something type here and.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
There we go.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
It's nice Andy Reid to give us a second of
his time. Timean he's getting ready for a game Tomorrow's.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
He got a game with potentially thanks coach not having
the best tight end in football right now too.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Couple tight ends on the fritz to start the year off, hopefully,
we keep ours.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
I tell you we don't want to add to the
list real quick.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
Cuban Dan our buddy day on Dale. George Picktt's number
has bumped up to forty one and a half. He says, though,
I tell you what, Naji Harris reception yards is over
under eleven and a half. That's like two catches, three catches.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
As we've been seeing the screenplays become more prevalent.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
If he catches three passes for an average of four
yards each. I see you mapthing over there, that's an
over see fat and over there. You know the only
time my math is gamble is when I'm gambling or
what I'm trying to figure out how many slices of
pizza I need to feed a croudy that takes this
twelve cut. There's three of us here.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
How many person got this? Now? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Food and money the only thing to give me to
do math. Well, you take a look at some of
these tallweeks.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
Yeah, man, let's do that. Man. See what they talking
about on the twits at dot com. Like we said,
the best way to do that is at dub Body
fifty two, the body at Wesley Huler.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
The good hair Annie tweets, us spreads, preseason rankings lists,
they're all just noise. The fun of sports is what
happens on the field. I'm excited to see how the
Steelers do. Here we go, let the games begin.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
No one, but you know, stats do matter, so we do.
Got to see how that looks. Spreads do matter well
because we can make them more money off of sotenly,
so we gotta see that that looks. But no, I'm
with you, though, man, I am so just ready for Yeah,
the real.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Stuff, Ready for it, Ready for it. It's part of again,
it's the blessing and the curse of what we do,
because I mean, really, the NFL is the only sport
that you can cover year round. And I say that respet.
I know there's a lot of people who cover hockey,
they cover basketball, they cover baseball year round, and they
do a great job of doing so. But let's all
be honest with ourselves. Football is the only sport that
(05:22):
is made to be covered year round. I mean, they
intentionally do not have you roll from the regular season.
Let's season right into them, right into the draft, right into.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Year twenty four, year twelve week.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
We've made this joke before, but it's because it's true.
There's like three weeks over the summer where the NFL
goes away. That's it. I mean it is it's it
is a league that is made to be covered and
discussed and picked apart twenty four to seven.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
And that's when it's list season, and that's when it's like,
I think this guy's gonna be top ten league, and
we do that.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
We do that in football more than any other sport.
I think too, because there's a lot less games. There's
not eighty two games like the Penguins and the Los
Angeles Lakers are playing, man, not one hundred and sixty
two games like the Pirates are playing. It all matters,
all that minutia matters. So I'm with Annie. It all
(06:15):
definitely feels like just noise at this point. Let's roll
the ball out there and see what happens. Yeah, I
like that, though I like it. I do too. Jason
tweets us and says, I have no no problem with
the Steelers being underdogs. Haven't proven anything yet in an
actual regular season, meaningful game Week one verse the nine Ers.
We will prove it though who we are, then we
won't be the dogs that the current lines in Vegas
(06:35):
think we are.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
I like that so respects the preseason, but is not
getting too far ahead of himself. Simply says, and I think.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
I think Jason's right there. You come out of the
gates flying and all of a sudden, it's gonna be like, Okay,
what we saw in preseason, there was some merit to that,
that hype and training camp there was some merit to that.
So that script can flip pretty fast when you've had
the solid start and solid foundation to the off seat
in programs like the Steelers have. But yes, you right,
(07:04):
that's what I said.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
We do need to see it all right, Like we
are confident internally amongst our fan base, you know, we
believe in it. But you're right, if we weren't Steeler fans,
we wouldn't be, you know, seeing it with that same
level of conviction. We'll be saying we need to see it.
We were saying they look good on paper, they looked
(07:26):
good in the preseason, but it's the preseason. And then
we would bring up teams like you when the Cleveland
Browns went undefeated in the preseason, mom, when this team
went unefeated in the preseason, that that team you never
lost in the preseas they look good to in the preseason,
so that worked out. So it's like I could definitely
understand that sentiment. Yeah, but I'm still gonna call them
a hater. Hater, hater, Nope, Nope, you didn't fall for it.
You didn't say I love them. They're gonna benefeated hater.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
Seventeen or o or you're a hater championship or you're
a hater. Ah. Now here's here's a power here's the
power grid megawatt og that we haven't heard from in
a while. Our buddy Olu what tweets us? Now? Can
I tell you something is hurting?
Speaker 2 (08:03):
Likes Timmy.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
He's a he's a footy guy like I am.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
So he likes the pitch.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
Okay, now that now that Messi's in this country, we
can call it soccer, right Uh. Olu is a Chelsea
fan Chelsea Football Club respects based out of London, Liverpool.
I'm a Manchester United fan, right uh? And Olu and
I have you know, we've had some fun quips back
and forth on Twitter about our our clubs in the past.
Not a hot start for either of us. There's twenty
(08:29):
teams in the English Premier League. Okay, moy twenty teams.
My Manchester United Red Devils are in eleventh right now
out of twenty teams. Not great, right, could be worse though.
Ol lose Chelsea Blues. They're in twelfth place right now,
so not a hot start. Let's up. The Steelers have
better starts the fuckball team than our footy teams. Olu says.
I love the fact that we're underdogs. That's just the
(08:51):
way I like it.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Well, and there are some benefits who being the underdogs
to being the one being the hunter versus being the hunted.
When you're in this perspective right here, man, it's a
lot less pressure because there aren't expectations for you. There
aren't you know, a lot of people that are going
to be coming out there expecting the Stealers two win,
at least from Vegas.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
I you know, it's right, but maybe not from the
national perspective, although it seems like some people are coming around.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
I mean to an extent, yes, But at the same time,
I'm sure if we had to ask those same national
media people that were making these selections, hey, don't do
it for clicks. Actually put a check up. I think
that's when you will really see, you know, how legitimately
they feel about this organization. Right now, it's a little
it's a little easier to just give it lib service.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
It's a real good point. Olu also adds we're beating
the Niners week one, starting the season five and oh
before the bye week.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
Wouldn't it be the first time we've done that before?
Speaker 3 (09:43):
Okay, absolutely have actually twenty twenty, right, and Monty and
I joke around a lot, and listen, we're a good
balance of serious analysis.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
No, we're not good. We are one hundred percent goofy
on this show, in one percent serious after the one
hundred percent of goofy.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
If the Stealers start five and oh, we're gonna lose
our mind. A whole lot of people out there the
championship are gonna have receipts black and gold receipts shoved
in their face. I mean, you know, Mozy, this is
not me, but I think a lot like a lot
of outsiders, right, those who aren't blessed to be Steeler
Nation members like we are. I think they think Steelers
(10:18):
fans are obnoxious and cocky and overbearing, and well, yes
they are, but without any success since you know, since
I was in diapers. Buddy, let us start five and oh,
you think we're obnoxious, to quote the great Rick Flair,
I'm gonna be more obnoxious and more overbearing. Okay, if
(10:40):
we start five and oh, you wanna go one? We
got a lot of tweets here, you wanna go one
more before we go to.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
Break because you've got.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
Steeler Cop tweets us. I don't mean all the old
all the O g's. You know, it's regular season when
all the ogs are back in the fold. Baby steel
a cop says. Honestly, I think the toughest game we
have all season as this opener against the Niners. I
expect big things for the Steelers. Can't wait for your
guys official predictions on Friday.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
No respect that. I like that. Man.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
It's a tough one.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
It is.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
It's always listen, it's always tough to determine that before
the season, right because okay, here's an example, Green Bay.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
They're always tough.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
But I think a lot of people look at that
now and they got Aaron Rodgers is gone.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
They're not gonna If.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
Jordan loves a legit quarterback, that could be a really
good team. Cincinnati down the stretch, Seattle, who knows, Baltimore,
who knows? Okay, the Rams, Jacksonville. Right now, we think
jackson won a playoff game last year. What if Jacksonville
ends up There's some people out there saying they're gonna
be the top seed in the AFC this year, win
thirteen to fourteen games.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
If Trevor Lawrence and they stay healthy. Is this possibility?
Is possibility?
Speaker 3 (11:46):
So now I certainly agree with Steeler Copp in the
sense of San Francisco has had the most. I think
that relatively.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Yeah, along with when we look at the teams up there,
like you talk, we was Cincinnati is definitely complete. San
France kind of.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
Like they've been Championshi games, Yeah, done everything. But when
the super but listen, it's a tough test to start this,
even with the Bosa uncertainty, the Kittle uncertainty. How sharp
is brock party After the offseason.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
For example, last year, nobody thought Seattle was gonna be
worth anything, and we saw what happened with them.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
They wrote Seattle off. They ain't right.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Back though, they Yeah, I heard it, Yeah, heard it?
Speaker 3 (12:20):
Man.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
I like that right there though, man, But no, that
was a good one right there. So what we'll do
is go ahead, take one more break real quick, man,
they come back out of this day. Get back to
some of your tweets, man, some of your thoughts. But
either way, you don't touch that. Down's art The Most
West U is still his Nation Radio on ESPN nine
seventy am.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
He's the Steelers Blitz with Wesley Euler and Arthur Motes
on your twenty four to seven Home of the Black
and Gold scn.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
R Art the Most Westley Euler, Yes, this is Steelers
Blitz on s n R s Will cast. I'm on
ESPN nine seventy am, and man, we keep the imitation.
Be's rolling today, all right. Cypress Hill I insane.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
In the memory, like some Cypress Hill vibes of this one.
You know, it is so funny. So many of these
were sitting here and we're like, okay, yeah, that sounds
like a j Lo beat. Okay, that sounds like a
Black Eyed Peas beat. All right, that's Beggie, all right,
that's Cypresshill. That is funny.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
That was definitely a little Cypress little tripping a man,
We're not tripping at all, man, but uh, we've been
taking this convoy this second half of the show has
been on the Twitter dot com. Man, we've been seeing
a lot of your participation and like we said, man,
we love the interaction. So we're gonna keep that going on. Yeah,
we definitely keep it going for right now. No, one
won't have to transition. Yes, yeah, I love it.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
Heard hold on. I know he's busy, you know, and
I get it. Can I get Big Red back and.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Planning? But come on back win? Don't you yet? Time Hurst.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
Our buddy Steeler Nation nine twenty Tyler, I've been wist Canson.
You gonna got any t pain beats in here? Oh no,
maybe somewhere? And wist Canton, He says, I'm leaving tomorrow
afternoon to start my trip to the berg.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
Let's go.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
Got the spotted cow beers in toe?
Speaker 2 (14:21):
Oh yeah, bag travel, Save travels.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
Tyler wants to know food question and football question.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
Which you like it?
Speaker 3 (14:29):
What you want?
Speaker 2 (14:29):
First, of course the serious one.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
Food. What's your guys opinion on spicy foods?
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Absolutely loving big fan, Absolutely loving Big fan. The spicy
other better even if it's so spicy that it hurts me.
And I'm like, dang, I shouldn't ate the spicy It's
still good. Even when it's a twenty four hour delayed
effect and I'm like, oh lord, not so good on
the way out as it was coming in. It's still
all good.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
So yeah, I'm big. When I go to a restaurant,
I get the spicy chicken sandwich, notf the chicken sandwiches.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
Are you a one chip challenge a guy? Or is
that too spicy?
Speaker 3 (15:01):
Well? That is too spice that yeah, I likes. I
like like a seven and a half eight out of
ten on the spicy sthing. You know what I mean.
I don't need the nine.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
Are enjoyable, not trying to prove, Yeah, like a seven
or in eight is we start talking about sign of
waivers and stuff like that on Like, I'm not trying.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
To prove like I'm a hot sauce always on eggs
or sarracha always on eggs, spicy chicken.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
Any other like spicy like that of stuff.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
Absolutely love it, absolutely little barbicolla coection.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
Somebody spiced me up.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
I love spicy food. Some banana peppers on your pizza.
Football question from Tyler is what all right? I guess
we got to go to the to the non serious
portion of this question. What defensive player matchup are you
most excited to watch this weekend? At least I little
hope because you go either side of the ball there.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
Well, no, it's both ways. Number number one. First match,
it was like we talked about TJ versus was it
mkivtz things they said his last name. Yes, definitely to
see that, just because that's one of the ones where
TJ has to dominate it. Not just win, it has
to dominate it, and he was more than capable of that.
He's fully healthy full offseason. I'm excited for him because
I'm ready to see him go get his throwne back,
(16:13):
which is defensive player of the Year. I look at
this as one of those I'm better than you And
I'm not talking TJ to mc kibbitz. No, I'm talking
TJ to Bosa. You got back to back depots, back
to back, big bad first round draft pick, past rushers,
freakerz always visiting from other planets in the same stadium.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
Potentially it's like when you would get Brady and Manning
in those.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
What I cannot wait to see what TJ does and
in the flip side, I cannot wait to see what
Bosa does because I'm a fan. I like both of them.
I like both of the games, the effort, the technique,
the fundamentals, the motor play, the rank could play, the past.
I want to see both of them, dudes, go and
see who could be the better depot? Is it the
(17:00):
twenty twenty one models of the twenty twenty two models?
Which model was better? But I need to see that
because they both can be amped up, juiced up, especially
if Bosa's in the stadium with potentially a new contract. Yeah,
I like that, and we know Bosa flip side, so
I get to see Verus Chucks and vers dead right,
Whereas I know TJ, TJ, you got you just a
highly favorable, highly favorable matchup. Yes, still caliber, but highly favorable.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
Favorable, Like yeah, those Nitney Lions against the Mountaineers this
past Saturday, favorable.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
But still respectable though, see still respectable. But I think
of those two you know guys on defense that I
really want to watch. And then if I don't get Bosa,
my secondary matchup is Javon Hargien versus Isaac A Moly?
Can I get a re Can I get a rerun?
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Jay?
Speaker 2 (17:46):
Can I get that? Can I see why?
Speaker 3 (17:51):
Just a few months after.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
So they've done it in practice, but I want to
see it in the game. And it's always fun when
you win against your guy in practice. You they know
each other's game, my gosh, and they both nice. It's like, yo,
I didn't have my success on you, you had success
on me. We're very familiar now, but let's do this
different color uniform. Like really, yeah, that was one of
(18:13):
them things. Like I mean, when I first came here
from Buffalo, I was so excited to play against my guys.
I know, you know me, all this stuff that we've went,
all the battles we've had in practice, all the trash
talk we've done to each other in practice.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
Well, we get the chance to see who take that teammate.
Let's take that teammate, guys.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
Let's go ahead, take take the vessel off man. Let's play.
Let's play for keeps the day. All right, take the man.
Let's play for keeps the day? Baby, I love that's great.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
If I don't get both out there because of the
contract situation, then my eyes definitely transition to my dog,
Jay hard Grave aka young Wob. I guess he's not
young anymore. I looked at he was over thirty. I
was like, yeah, when did wild get older?
Speaker 3 (18:55):
He's on the other side like us.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
It's crazy.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
He's on the He's on the like we are not
old in real life football life.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
He's grown up in football terms, he's no longer young wo.
But to me he's always like rooky young. Yeah. I
like it.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
Now, that's a great call by you. And spoiler alert again,
I think that might be in the five star for it,
but you got to tune in at one o'clock on
Friday to find out, doesn't that. Man, that's a great
call by you. So just to give you a little
different flavor, I will once again reiterate Alex high Smith
against against Trent Williamson, good on.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
Good Williams baby or yeah, I just called it Williams.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
Just to combine Matt Williams and Trent Williams.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
Part of me.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
Man, we had Abra Williamson here against Alex high Smithson,
Williamson against high Smithson. There you Trent Williams against alexim
It wouldn't be a show if I messed up somebody's name.
But great last name. That's good On Good. That's one
of the best left tackles we've seen against one of
the perennial up and coming ass rushers who's got the
(20:01):
contract now to prove it as well too. Other starte
of the ball though, Fred Warner, I mean MOSTI am
I exaggerating? Am I being hyperbolic? Am I overrating? To
say the best TV is gonna love? Not tj TG
is gonna love?
Speaker 2 (20:15):
That stance. I've had to shift to that stance to
my guy's lack of availability.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
Well it's a good point. It's a good point. But
health considered best off ball linebacker in football.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
No, that's what you say. Yeah, yeah, yeah, because you
know my guy he's yeah, I with Shaq Lennox, he's
been hurt, man, he has been hurt. I'm like, you
get the first year kind of like the Michael Thomas right,
we had that comment. It was like you the first
year of being hurt, you get it, you get that
bit of right it happens. Yeah, it can be two years,
kb two going on three. Like after that, I move,
it's becoming a pattern at that point, right and right
(20:48):
now we haven't seen this man in about two years.
Fred Warner is the number one guy dog. Yeah. Then
after that, I look, you put Roquan in there.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
Dog Rappers Baltimore, Eh Baltimore. So there you go. There
you go, Tyler.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
I like that though, Tyler, shout out to you for.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
The spicy food and defensive matchups. That's two things that
Motzi and I we talk about all day long.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
Absolute but see that's what we love. The interaction from
the Power Grid the megwas because sometimes y'all have stuff
like that on yo mind and it doesn't always pertain
to this topic, but sometimes it does and.
Speaker 3 (21:21):
It sparks, uh, you know, sparks interesting tidbits in our
brains as well.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
As that was not the plan for that kind of
to day, but you know, it just popped up right there,
So salute you.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
It do be like that sometimes. Thrash Battle Guy shout
out the thrat ogs OG's are back based week one. Baby,
you know what time it is, Thrash has I can't
wait for Sunday. We're gonna be listening to all the
shows on SNR this week. It's got me excited. Also, Wes,
sorry for Wu's loss on Saturday. I hope they go
undefeated for the rest of the season. Yeah, don't hold
(21:48):
your breath. Will be duque this week this weekend. I
don't hold your.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
Breath go one to know this? Now, do y'all need
to be concerned? Spent a lot of upsets taking place
in college football.
Speaker 3 (22:00):
Are the motive the Mountaineers lousen to kne a game
that you can't even find.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
You're not allowed to be the laughing stock of college football.
The TCU lineback already said that they the laughing stock
right now, so y'all can't be the laughing stock. But
all I'm saying is this, some upsets takeing place we
didn't see in a lot of ranked teams. We've seen
a very academic institute beat a very good football shout.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
Okay, all right.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
We've seen some Colorado people go down to Texas and
show that they can play football in Colorado, but then
they can play in Texas. Okay. We've seen a Texas
state team go take their Okay, that uset and and
what happened to l s U the other day?
Speaker 3 (22:44):
They got boat raced by them seminoles.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
Huh.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
Brian Kelly was crying to his family lane and his
new Louisiana accent, my family.
Speaker 2 (22:59):
Lad, he noticed how accident to change everywhere he goes.
I'm like, how do you get that? But you ain't
had that when he was in there to day. Funny,
I never heard you talk like that up there.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
It's funny. And he takes over the pit program one
day he'll be talking about going dying time and washing
the car. What it couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
I listen I do. If you want my extensive WVU
football thoughts throughout the season, I do a show called
in the Gun w VU Football. You heard it with
(23:28):
sideline reporter Jed Drinning and w legenden Schmidt. But I
did the helmit himself, mister face mask and helmet himself.
I have been telling people all along, you were always
gonna lose the Penn State. You're always gonna Beatduquine. Season
starts September sixteenth against Pitt Lose that game and I
might be m I a for a while.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
Can we can we make sure Chris Carter is scheduled
to come on that that Monday hsh Can we just
just to be safe? I know he usually doesn't come
on Monday shows. Can he come on Monday show? Can
we just just just start the week?
Speaker 3 (23:59):
Didn't we have him on Monday shows? Last year.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
I don't remember it was Mondays and Wednesdays.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
I know FA Fridays.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
Yeah, he was the Monday and Wednesdays though.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
I think he was Mondays because we were doing TG
from time when we could on Wednesdays right when he
when he wasn't involved with his coaching duties as well too,
our guy TG.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
And he came to man shout out the floida memorial
ten kid Ben is down this.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
Starting off the season with a let's go w let's
go all right, We've got a couple three pack of questions,
so we'll save those for the final segment. If that's
all right with you.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
No, it's not alright with me. How about that?
Speaker 3 (24:28):
Rod Dallas says the Browns will forever be cursed by
the football gods until they embrace the elf and do
away with all this dog crap? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (24:36):
Are they els? Are they brown?
Speaker 3 (24:37):
Do you mean dog crap? Or do you mean dog
crap crap? Like?
Speaker 2 (24:42):
I don't know. It's right there, man, You're right, it's
deep thought, deep thought, interesting, interesting interesting. Either way, I'm
glad that we are not Browns fans and we are
still his fans. Ain't into that, so would that be
in the case ben on such that down steals Fans
steal his Nation Radio. Because we'll be right back. This
is Arthur will westle Yula on ESPN nine seventy am.
Speaker 1 (25:31):
This is the Steelers Blitz with Wesley Euler and Arthur
Motes on your twenty four to seven Home of the
Black and Gold s n R.
Speaker 2 (25:41):
Arthur Motes Wesley Euler back for the final segment of
today's show of the Steelers Blitz on Steals Nation steal
a Nation Radio SIMA casting on ESPN nine seventy am.
And I hope you are enjoying the intro tunes. The
versatility that we show in this show.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
Is this that song that they played Jim Carrey in
the mask I think here.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
I think so in the background, you know. But I
just love the versatility that we have on this show,
especially with our producer. You know, when you got a
guy's musically gifted, as the producer is with that range,
you get all type of you know, intro tracks. But
that's the fun part about today. And uh fun part
about today also is the fact that man the power
(26:22):
grid in the Mega Watch, y'all have been crazy with
your interaction. Man, we love it. We appreciate y'all from
the heart, and like I said, man, we did want
to take this, like I said, last hour to just
finish up, you know, with some of your questions and
calm stuff that have been coming in on the Twitter
dot com. So we will get to these final questions
and tweets that have came in, and uh, yeah, is
(26:43):
the big Maneville for one last time? Can we just
bump for one final time? This has been a long
day for him.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
This is like when you have to keep tugging.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
Your dad to let one last time though time heres.
Speaker 3 (26:58):
Me tweets us Moti who oh hey? Now three questions
as always Number one, let's assume Joey Bosa plays, it's
a stout forty nine or defense. Is there any area
of it you can exploit.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
In terms of exploiting the Niners defense, Yeah, I think
you gotta go right at it. I think when you're
talking about what they do, the best number one has
played the pass. They are built to rush the passer
with Bosa, Hargrave, Armstead, They're built to run and cover
Fred Warner green Law. They got ball hawks on the
(27:33):
back end. Hafenga Gibson is as success ward.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
They rotate those names on the back end and they
still have success.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
They want to play that type of gay. I think
when you run at them though, and make those ball
hawks have to play physical ball for four. Of course,
I think that's a different convo. I think that is
something that you know you have to attack. But I
also think it's not just about attacking that defense. I
feel like it's also about making sure that their offense
(28:03):
has short drives. They work extremely well in concert offensively,
they hardly ever in backed up situations. All their drives
are usually you know, nine to ten plays plus variety,
so it keeps their defense off the field. And then
their defense is an elite defense, so they do a
great job of getting three and outs or at worse,
six and out, so their defense stays fresh the whole
(28:25):
time while their offense is sustaining drives and scoring points,
which then puts you as an offense and obvious passing
situations with then does what go right back to what
they do extremely well, which is rush to pass and
play the pass. So to me, we have to make
sure that offensively for the Niners, they're not sustaining drives.
(28:46):
That is just as important as us sustaining a running
game or anything that we're going to be trying to
do on offense. So that's kind of how I look
at in terms of attacking them. You want to run
at them, but also we gotta make sure that our
defense is keeping that Niners offense off the field because
they cannot have non tenth plus play drive every single
(29:09):
time they're out there. Because number one, our defense is
gonna get tired, and we've seen that. Two we experienced that.
And then the flip side is that Niners defense is
gonna stay fresh, and if they're playing what they lead,
it's going to be very difficult to deal with them,
very similar to if you're playing our defense and we
gotta lead right exactly, you don't want to play our defense,
but we could just be rushing the pass. Come on, man,
(29:32):
you know exactly what that is. When I put on
my two dogs one bone shirt today, I wasn't thinking
about the internal two dogs, one bone. I'm thinking about
Steelers defense versus Niners defense. Both are outfits, both are
number one caliber, both have studs at all three levels,
both got depots. Who's gonna be the biggest dog though,
(29:56):
because whoever the biggest dog between them. Defense is gonna win.
It's let's about these off offenses this week. It is
these offenses are very similar. You can make the case
one way to the other. Oh Man, we got pick As,
I'm excited about Deonce. Okay, they got Deebo Samuel, they
got Christian McCaffrey. We don't have that right now, So sibbitt,
well we got Kitty all right. Cool, Well we can
say we got Kenny over Prity, all right, cool offense line, well,
(30:16):
they got a Trent Williams. All right, we can go there.
So that's about all offices.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
Who can hold the other team under twenty.
Speaker 2 (30:23):
Yes, because that's gonna be the match. The team with
the better defense in this match was gonna win this game. Man,
I agree, two dogs, one bone, man, two dogs.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
One bone. Number two from me Chicago style hot dog
two complex or hell yeah, give me two now.
Speaker 2 (30:40):
It's Chicago style. That's like the sandwich style almost right.
Speaker 3 (30:42):
It's got the seated bud and it's got a lot
of different like hot peppers and tomatoes and stuff like that.
I when I'm in Chicago and you go to Portillo's, writer,
I think, is that the big one I'll get I'll
get Chicago dog when I'm in Chicago, and I like them.
Don't get me wrong, but I but that's about it.
Like it's one of those wins Rome things for me,
Like I'll do a Chicago dog when I'm in Chicago
(31:03):
because that's what Chicago WANs do, but I would never
really seek it out elsewhere.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
Yeah, well it's funny, man, I'll order it and then
I'm telling them I don't want anything up there. It's
uth my dog. So if you're just talking about eating
the cool hot dog with sandwich, bread with seeds up there,
you know, and a.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
Lot of veggies, pickle, tomato, hot peppers, like.
Speaker 2 (31:25):
I said, I don't order that at all up there though,
That's what I'm saying. So if you're just talking about
the hot dog itself with the bread with sess me
up there, you are we calling that Chicago because if
you call in the Chicago style too, then then yeah,
I'll do that way. But if you're not, then yeah, neis. Yeah,
I'm good on pickles and all that on my dog.
Name them a simple man.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
Third and final for me, name a non athlete celebrity
you've seen or met in real life. Well, I know
a good one for you.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
So I don't know what you said that none like
Justin Bieber.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
That was exactly what I was gonna say for you,
was Justin Bieber.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
Yeah, I say Justin Bieber before like I mean, he
was already big time, but before you even got like bigger, bigger,
Yeah to.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
Be it came to Chapel with the Sailors. That's a
great answer for you.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Everybody lost they mind behind that, but my kids still
think I'm like super cool behind that.
Speaker 3 (32:11):
I think you're super cool, he said right next to me.
Super cool. I've been fortunate because of my father to
uh to bump elbows with some cool musicians. But you
know what my answer I think would be Steve Martin
as as a father, the father of the Bride three,
(32:32):
Amigo's bringing down the house, the Jerk Saturday Night Live.
You know, a very famous actor from our our parents generation,
uh Planes, trains and automobiles as well too. He did
a comedy show one time at Hines Hall and my
dad got me backstage and got to chat with him
for about sixty seconds. Very nice guy, plays the banjo,
(32:52):
does all that goofy stuff. I think that would be
I think That's a good one for me. The too
final from Steel City Champs here all the way out
in Seattle. Stilton Shamps wants to know, do you guys
like us being talked about getting hyped up when it
comes to the media, or do you prefer the team
be a sleeper, fly, under the radar, come out and
shock the world.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
Honestly, I don't really have a hard preference on it.
I've been a part of both. I know when we
were here, we were talked about, we were the front runners,
we were the team that everybody wanted, and to a
certain extent, if you don't have the team to handle it,
it can definitely crush you. Absolutely. I felt like for us,
we linked into it, we were perfect for it. It's
just unfortunately, like I said, we lost as championship and
(33:32):
we has some injuries you know the following season. Yeah,
you know, But I don't mind it if you can
handle it. But like I said, it's not for everybody.
Some teams, and this might be one of those teams,
especially with them being a little bit younger and having
to prove themselves still, it might be a better situation
for them to be under the radar, because if you're
(33:53):
coming in with all eyes on you. That means nobody.
You're not sneaking up with anybody. We remember that, Timelin
the track games. Track game was really because we knew
every same you play, and every team was gonna get
up and treat it like it was their Super Bowl, correct,
And if you don't match that energy, it doesn't matter
how talented you are. I've seen the New York Jets
(34:13):
with Mike Vick and Percy Harvin and Chris Johnson beat us.
I've seen a Ryan Mallett led Baltimore Ravens team beat us.
I've seen a Mike glennon Chicago Bears team beat us,
seeing a Mike glennon Tampa Bay Buccaneers team beat us.
These are all the different track games that we've experienced
because Raiders team beat the Steelers, you know, because when
(34:37):
you're coming to town and you're the favorite like that,
everybody wants a piece George. Whereas this past season, we
can make a case that it hasn't been the case.
Maybe make the case of the past two season hasn't
been like that. So I don't hate it. I don't
And like I said, it might be a little bit
(34:57):
more of a benefit for this group because they are younger.
It's not approven Bier Roethisberg, it's not a proven Antonio
Bryn's not approven Le'Veon bell.
Speaker 3 (35:05):
I completely agree.
Speaker 2 (35:06):
You know, let you got some some people.
Speaker 3 (35:09):
I'd rather surprise people, yeah, and kind of catch them
off guard, as opposed to maybe confirm some hype, if
you will. There's benefits to both. Like you said, it
is fun being perceived as the top dog and then
going out there and proving it, you know, But I
think I would always rather fly under the radar.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
For sure.
Speaker 3 (35:28):
You gotta be you'll be stealthy out there. Right. It
ain't about who laughs first, Arthur motes, It's about who
laughs last. Baby, Although if you're always laughing, if you've
been laughing the whole time, you'll never worry about who's
laughing last.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
So just keep laughing.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
The joker funny has. You want to know how I
got these scars right?
Speaker 1 (35:46):
All right?
Speaker 2 (35:46):
All right, man, I'm looking at the clock. Is that
gonna do it for today?
Speaker 3 (35:50):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
That's unfortunate, but I guess fortunate for me. I do
you gotta go get my kids? So with if that
being the case, man, it was a great show today. Man,
can't leave kids hanging, man, So let me shout out
the power grid. The Mega bost was tapping in with us. Man,
we appreciate y'all from the heart. Man, gotta give a
shout out to my producer, the one and only missed
the Wesley Yoler.
Speaker 3 (36:11):
Man, it's cold in this studio.
Speaker 2 (36:13):
No, it's it's mui, I say for you.
Speaker 3 (36:15):
Yes, indeed, unfortunately I couldn't produce a better temperature in here.
About it work.
Speaker 2 (36:19):
Alright, because I'm about to produce my feet to be
outside of this studio door, and I'm gonna be really
warm then, so I cannot wait. But last, and certainly
not least, let me give a shout out to my
partner in crime, my god, the one and only missed
the Wesley.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
You shaking bake, let's go, let's go.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
I'm old enough when it was bing bong. But either
way you already know, man, don't touch that down. You
gotta fool slate off. More still of content coming on,
but you already know where to find us on your
twenty four to seven Home of the Black and the Goal.
Speaker 3 (36:54):
Stiller's Nation Radio
