Pickenska from another well known, talented but sometimes in the
news for the wrong reasons, wide receiver that we all know.
But Arthur Motes today, Oh and NFL Honors is tonight.

A lot going on still with the Super Bowl obviously,
but today Arthur Motes, we start with a little audio
that I want to play for you. All right, Well,
so I gotta pot down the blitz open here as
I think we've got some legitimate offseason scoop and listen.

This happens super Bowl week.

There's a lot of shows, a lot of conversations, and
with that legitimate news. Jay Glazer, of course, everybody knows
he's one of the big NFL insiders, one of the
Adam Schefter Ian Rappaport types of the world. He works
for Fox, and he has a nice relationship with Mike Tomlin.
I think that is well known across Steeler Land at

this point. If you're somebody who goes to training camp,
you probably see Jay Glazer there every year. In this
clip here, he talks about how he was texting with
Mike Tomlin. So it's well known that Jay Glazer and
Mike Tomlin have a good relationship. What I mean by
that Mozie is usually when Jay Glazer says something about
the Steelers, I believe him. I listen, and so Jay Glazer.

He was on with Matthew Berry on the I believe
it's called the Fantasy Football Happy Yeah again, now a
million different shows and a million different avenues, but with
Matthew Berry, well known football guy, Fantasy Football Happy Hour
talking about Russell Wilson and Justin Fields and their futures
as they relate to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Russell Wilson obviously has had a long career and going
back to free agency, Pete Carroll, I mean, this is
kind of connecting Donna. That one's over, right, that one's over.
Do you think it's more likely Russ goes back to
the Steelers because the ending there was also a little
weird too, So just a new start for us.

like they're thinking about so they can compartmentalize only so
much so Senior Bowl, right. And then all of a
sudden next week they have come on meetings, right, and
so they're gonna start talking about free agency and what's
out there.

But I don't think they know who they're their starting quarterbacks.

Interesting, Arthur Motz for a lot of different layers there.
So let's let's address the layers and then dissect the layers. Yeah, First,
Russell Wilson not only did he say he doesn't think
he's going to be with the Raiders, he also that
he doesn't think he's going to be with the Steelers,
that he's going to have a new start somewhere else.
And then Justin Fields not completely saying I don't think

he'll be with the Steelers, but he almost did there
For a second he goes, I don't think, well, you know,
I don't know so and then at the end he says,
I think it'll be a new quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The right off the top thing there to me is
he seems pretty With Justin Fields, it was a little
more iffy. But with Russell Wilson, he seems pretty adamant

that not only is he not going to be a Raider,
something that we've talked about as a possibility, that he's
not gonna be a Pittsburgh Steeler, And as Jay Glazer said,
I think it'll be a new.

It's again, this is significant to me because this is
not like coming from a reporter or a sources, and
this is Jay Glazer, a well respected guy, saying this

I mean it's cool. I would ask you this. Do
you believe Jay Glazer over Art Rooney?

Because what did Ar Rooney say specifically about both of
those guys?

He would like to have one back said he.

Mister Rooney was like, I would like to have one
or the other. He said, I don't see a scenario
what both comes back because he thinks both guys you
themselves as starters.

So when I hear Jay, it's like man. I like
what he's doing. I like his approach to it because
it's exciting. But at the same time, how do I
not remember what mister Rooney also just said about them
two dudes. Mister Rudy said he would prefer one of
them dudes to be back to be the guy next year, Jay,
making it sound like neither one of them is gonna
be back. So that's why I say to you, which

would do you want to believe more of?

That's why the Russell Wilson is more significant to me,
the guy of Justin Field's comments and real quick, let's
let's play the beginning of that again of a guy
like that.

We didn't hear mister Rooney speak possibly of both of
these dudes. To me, it's a way different perspective from
my eyes. It's just when you got the owner, not
the position, coach, not anybody, the owner saying both of
them dudes. I'm looking at both of them, dudes, one
or the other. I want one back. I just lead

to that. I'm like, yo, I don't know which what.

simply said that either one.

Jay makes it sounds like, yo, it's a already determined thing,
but then he walks it back to make it like
it's not already determined. Historiason. Why I'm looking at it
and what I'm saying, well, which one is it? Do
you got all this confidence and you dropping real stuff?
Or are you playing the game of let me throw
this out there, hold on, let me take that back
a little bit, let me throw this back out there,
hold on real quick, hold on quick, just in case,

just in case. Now, that's kind of how I looked
at it, because mister Rudy wasn't as confident on it.
So how's the guy that is cutting the check not
that confident. But Jay is that confident that he already
know it ain't this gude and it probably won't be
just got either. So I was just like, all right,
I like it though, because if he's right, it's dope
as heck four trust me it is.

mister Rudy. From day one, when he's talked about both
of these guys and said positively about both of them,
I consider both. It's only been media and fans who
have made decisions or in his behalf basically said who
we like and who doesn't stand a chance. But the

man himself said, I'm considering both of these dudes. That's
my only thing. So it's like all of us got
these different opinions that we're gonna, you know, paint it
the way that we painted. But the boss Man, the
dude that is ultimately saying yay or nay, is saying yep,
I'm not decided on it, just yes, how the heck
are y'all that's my only day.

I'm like, bro, I love the confidence, but like man,
last time we heard the boss Man speak, he wasn't

all right, if your profils drop something, how don't feels
if you pro Russ drops something, how on rust? If
you're pro free agency or pro the draft, you're gonna
have something to make it feel a little bit more like, oh,
I kind of like this. And then the people are
doing now with the justin philis. He's like, what if
you take just with you bring just Phils back? But

your draft will Howard wf you bring just But I'm saying,
like everybody's trying to adding.

Joke, be like, oh, but once again, we still know
it goes back to what mister he said tw weeks ago,
because if he would have said two weeks ago, hey,
Russ is not He's not in the conversation.

It's either Phills or we're gonna look elsewhere. Way different mindset.
Right if he would have said, Yo, I'm going with Russ,
We're gonna let Fils go out there, way different mindset.
But he legitimately said even think about it, he gave

boss man, because once again, that is the top of
the food chain. I mean, how many people want how

say it to you blue in the face. Who's the
guy that dictates that? The guy that I'm talking about here, Hey, man,

the team all you want, you know what? You don't
get that. You don't get that choice, you know what,
because you don't own it.

dudes in Pittsburgh. There's big dog to coach t. But
mister Rudy is that guy. And if that guy said this,

from that guy. Where we get other reports, you know

started in terms of the entry level negotiations. When Russ
said what he said, Remember what I came here and

You know what Step two is super Bowl? Why because
everybody is there.

twenty years, I mean twenty million per year and things

Moonie spoke. If mister Reenie never spoke, I think it's
way different. All bets are off. But the owner, the

is really the matchup I didn't wanted. Where are you
kind of on the excitement scale for Sunday's game?

Ken, I'm totally pumped. I mean, I mean, I think
it's just I think this is the two best teams.
You know, if Detroit makes it past Washington, you know, Buffalo,
the Chiefs, Detroit, Philadelphia, you can't ask for much more.
I mean, Washington getting in there, you know, gave us
(25:00):
a you know, if you like the underdog, if you're
rooting for Butler to win the NCAA tournament, you know,
for that kind of person. And I usually am by
the way, you know, Washington's welcome to the party. But
I just thought it was I think this is the
matchup that from about the eighty percent mark of the
season on looked like the two best teams. So to me,

that makes it for a great Super Bowl. You know,
I always I always think about this in terms of,
you know, teams get out the hot starts and then
you know, some teams kind of regroup in the middle
of the season, some get hot, some fade. But I
always think that last quarter of the season, you know,
And usually it's not just a team what we saw
with the students, of course, that one year that got
hot and got into the playoffs. Usually it's a team
(25:46):
that's a sort of finishing off what's been a good season,
and their trend at the end of the year says, hey,
I'm the best team in this conference, or I'm the
best team in this league, And those are the teams
that you you know, you see, you want I want
to going at in the Super Bowl. So that's how
I divide things. Hey, you know, we all get excited
about you know, five and one start or whatever, but
(26:06):
how are you playing at the end. Obviously the Steelers
weren't playing well at the end. But I think these
are the two best teams in the NFL. The way
they played down the stretch.
Speaker 9 (26:14):
Well, shoot, I gotta follow up with you then about
this Super Bowl though, because we know one has the
number one Russian attack and one has the number one
ability to stop saying Russian attack. Are we going to
see a Saquan sixty plus yard That's all I need
to know. Am I gonna get the long ball from Saquan?
Or that is that that definiti year?

Now, Well, I, Arthur, I think you've put your hand
on the absolute key of the game. I think if
I mean, look, Mahomes is gonna do what Mahomes does.
Jalen Hurts is a capable quarterback. But I really think
it comes down to that, if if Saquon Barkley and
that Philadelphia running game can get going, I think they'll

win the game. If the Chiefs can stop and limit
the Eagles effectiveness running the game, running the ball, and
that means, you know, we know with the team like Philadelphia. Okay,
so you held him to seventeen carries for thirty four
yards and then you know Barkley takes one for eighty uh,
and you didn't have a good game.

So I think that's I think you've hit the nail
right on the head. That to me is the entire
key of the game. The Eagles can run the ball
effectively against the Chiefs. I believe they'll win the game.

believe the Eagles will win the game or the Chiefs
will win the game.

Paul Brown was a revolutionary coach and everyone said, oh
that lo what he's doing with Cleveland and the All
American Football Conference. What happens when he goes to the NFL,
We'll play what happens? He dominates and and you know

he turned you know, these guys are guys that were
innovative coaches. Bill Walsh was an innovative coach. I don't
know where he sits, but I just think that, you know,
Andy Reid has already he's put himself to me, that's
as high as you can be. You're in you're rubbing
elbows and shoulders with the other great ones. You're in
the you're in the room with all the other great coaches,

and they're all looking at you and Bill Belichick and
the other guys. I think that's as that's as far
as I'm willing to go with with anybody in any sport,
in any comparison.

Packers were won ten and one the year before Lombardi
got there, the worst, the worst record in franchise is

And then then took the Eagles to the wire. Uh

winning winning championships, including the first two Super Bowls.

it had me thinking about one player that might have
had his final you know, games, his final opportunity hand

all time status amongst the Steelers running backs, specifically Nase Harris.

If this is the last time that we've seen him
out there, where do we feel his overall tenure as
a Steeler rinks amongst these stiller running backs that are
out here. Man, the James Conners of the world obviously
know the l Bells and company like that, But where
do we look at.

he had you talk about a singular style. That man
had a singular style of playing football. He was a
great one. I think he's you know, his legacy will
be as a solid, productive running back, a workhorse, workman
like running back, a reliable running back. You knew you

were gonna get maximum effort out of him, and you know,
you knew he could do something in the passing game.
You knew he had sure hands. You know, he wasn't
going to drop many passes, he wasn't going to fumble
many balls. Just a good, solid, workmanlike guy. That was.
That was part of teams that you know, uh, we're
able to get into the first out of the playoffs,

but not advance any further than that. And you know,
again right or wrong, a lot of times, you know,
guys are are you know, they're wagging his hitch to
how the team did in general. So that's that probably
limits his stature a little bit. But I just think
I love the way he ran. I love the way
he ran with attitude. You know, he was a you know,
he was a hard worker. You knew you know, you

knew you're always gonna get maximum effort from him. And
and you know he worked hard at it too. You know,
we saw him in practice all the time, working on
that speed working on this speed machine again and again
and again and again at Camp.

Yeah, yep. Consistent. That's another good word to use. Consistent,
very consistent performer.

also doesn't grow on trees either. Players with that type
of consistency and reliability at that position. And we both
thought that was that was well said Kinger before we

I would go with with Kansas City, and I think

it's going to be a one score game, and I
think that I guess I'll give the slight edge to
Kansas City. I really, frankly don't care. And that's a
wonderful way to go in as a viewer, to have
no dog in the fight and just let's just show
me a great game, because that's that's what I really
want to see. I want to see a great game.

I think that is well known across Steeler Land at

this point. If you're somebody who goes to training camp,
you probably see Jay Glazer there every year. In this
clip here, he talks about how he was texting with
Mike Tomlin. So it's well known that Jay Glazer and
Mike Tomlin have a good relationship. What I mean by
that Mozie is usually when Jay Glazer says something about
the Steelers, I believe him. I listen, and so Jay Glazer.

He was on with Matthew Berry on the I believe
it's called the Fantasy Football Happy Yeah again, now a
million different shows and a million different avenues, but with
Matthew Berry, well known football guy, Fantasy Football Happy Hour
talking about Russell Wilson and Justin Fields and their futures
as they relate to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Russell Wilson not only did he say he doesn't think
he's going to be with the Raiders, he also that
he doesn't think he's going to be with the Steelers,
that he's going to have a new start somewhere else.
And then Justin Fields not completely saying I don't think

he'll be with the Steelers, but he almost did there
For a second he goes, I don't think, well, you know,
I don't know so and then at the end he says,
I think it'll be a new quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The right off the top thing there to me is
he seems pretty With Justin Fields, it was a little
more iffy. But with Russell Wilson, he seems pretty adamant

that not only is he not going to be a Raider,
something that we've talked about as a possibility, that he's
not gonna be a Pittsburgh Steeler, And as Jay Glazer said,
I think it'll be a new.

It's again, this is significant to me because this is

plays out? A rematch of two years ago the Eagles
their third Super Bowl within a not too long of
a period here the Chiefs looking to be the first
to do the three peat. Or you're like, man, this
is really the matchup I didn't wanted. Where are you
kind of on the excitement scale for Sunday's game?

Ken, I'm totally pumped. I mean, I mean, I think
it's just I think this is the two best teams.
You know, if Detroit makes it past Washington, you know, Buffalo,
the Chiefs, Detroit, Philadelphia, you can't ask for much more.
I mean, Washington getting in there, you know, gave us

a you know, if you like the underdog, if you're
rooting for Butler to win the NCAA tournament, you know,
for that kind of person. And I usually am by
the way, you know, Washington's welcome to the party. But
I just thought it was I think this is the
matchup that from about the eighty percent mark of the
season on looked like the two best teams. So to me,

that makes it for a great Super Bowl. You know,
I always I always think about this in terms of,
you know, teams get out the hot starts and then
you know, some teams kind of regroup in the middle
of the season, some get hot, some fade. But I
always think that last quarter of the season, you know,
And usually it's not just a team what we saw
with the students, of course, that one year that got
hot and got into the playoffs. Usually it's a team

that's a sort of finishing off what's been a good season,
and their trend at the end of the year says, hey,
I'm the best team in this conference, or I'm the
best team in this league, And those are the teams
that you you know, you see, you want I want
to going at in the Super Bowl. So that's how
I divide things. Hey, you know, we all get excited
about you know, five and one start or whatever, but

how are you playing at the end. Obviously the Steelers
weren't playing well at the end. But I think these
are the two best teams in the NFL. The way
they played down the stretch.

this Super Bowl though, because we know one has the
number one Russian attack and one has the number one
ability to stop saying Russian attack. Are we going to

Now, Well, I, Arthur, I think you've put your hand
on the absolute key of the game. I think if

that Philadelphia running game can get going, I think they'll

win the game. If the Chiefs can stop and limit
the Eagles effectiveness running the game, running the ball, and
that means, you know, we know with the team like Philadelphia. Okay,
so you held him to seventeen carries for thirty four
yards and then you know Barkley takes one for eighty uh,
and you didn't have a good game.

Paul Brown was a revolutionary coach and everyone said, oh

American Football Conference. What happens when he goes to the NFL,

he turned you know, these guys are guys that were
innovative coaches. Bill Walsh was an innovative coach. I don't
know where he sits, but I just think that, you know,
Andy Reid has already he's put himself to me, that's
as high as you can be. You're in you're rubbing
elbows and shoulders with the other great ones. You're in
the you're in the room with all the other great coaches,

and they're all looking at you and Bill Belichick and
the other guys. I think that's as that's as far
as I'm willing to go with with anybody in any sport,
in any comparison.

Packers were won ten and one the year before Lombardi
got there, the worst, the worst record in franchise is

And then then took the Eagles to the wire. Uh

winning winning championships, including the first two Super Bowls.

to Pittsburgh then, because with all of these legacy talk,
it had me thinking about one player that might have
had his final you know, games, his final opportunity hand

figure we would talk how we feel about this guy's
all time status amongst the Steelers running backs, specifically Nase Harris.

If this is the last time that we've seen him
out there, where do we feel his overall tenure as
a Steeler rinks amongst these stiller running backs that are
out here. Man, the James Conners of the world obviously
know the l Bells and company like that, But where
do we look at.

had a singular style of playing football. He was a
great one. I think he's you know, his legacy will
be as a solid, productive running back, a workhorse, workman
like running back, a reliable running back. You knew you

were gonna get maximum effort out of him, and you know,
you knew he could do something in the passing game.
You knew he had sure hands. You know, he wasn't
going to drop many passes, he wasn't going to fumble
many balls. Just a good, solid, workmanlike guy. That was.
That was part of teams that you know, uh, we're
able to get into the first out of the playoffs,

but not advance any further than that. And you know,
again right or wrong, a lot of times, you know,
guys are are you know, they're wagging his hitch to
how the team did in general. So that's that probably
limits his stature a little bit. But I just think
I love the way he ran. I love the way
he ran with attitude. You know, he was a you know,
he was a hard worker. You knew you know, you

knew you're always gonna get maximum effort from him. And
and you know he worked hard at it too. You know,
we saw him in practice all the time, working on
that speed working on this speed machine again and again
and again and again at Camp.

I would go with with Kansas City, and I think

it's going to be a one score game, and I
think that I guess I'll give the slight edge to
Kansas City. I really, frankly don't care. And that's a
wonderful way to go in as a viewer, to have
no dog in the fight and just let's just show
me a great game, because that's that's what I really
want to see. I want to see a great game.

I think we're gonna go, uh, I think we're gonna
go Buffalo chicken dip.

I think we're gonna go some chili with some with
some shredded cheese on top. I don't know. I don't
know beyond that where we're gonna go, because, to be
perfectly honest, I'm not preparing it.

Yeah, I have I have good sit back mode, get
a catch up on season two of Severns Hey now
prior to the game with my son, and then we're
gonna you know, I'm sure we'll watch a little bit
of the Puppy Bowl and some other stuff that's going on,
so a full day of viewership. So I'm looking forward to.
