Speaker 1 (00:07):
S Kueler and Moats are on the air.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
This is the Steeler's Blitz on your twenty four to
seven home of the Black and Gold sn R.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Steelers Nation Radio.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
What's going on, Steelers Nation Radio.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
It is high noon on a Christmas Eve afternoon, but
that can only mean one thing. It's time to go
inside the electric factory. Here on your twenty four to
seven home of the Black and the Gold. It is
the Steelers Blitz on the Steelers Audio Network. I am
Wes Euler. I am Wes solo today here call me
han Baby as we rock and we roll for two

(01:14):
hours together before I rock and roll on up out
of here for some Christmas Eve Shenanigans. You got me,
you got you, We got some Chiefs preview, we got
some Christmas talk. A little Tuesday Fixon's edition of the Blitz,
if you will, as this will obviously be the last
show we do before the Steelers play again Wednesday, one

(01:37):
o'clock Christmas Day on Netflix against the back two back
defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, who third game
in eleven days for your Pittsburgh Steelers, and obviously a
little moving and shaking for all of us here on
the radio side of things. With that being the case,
and so today you got me for two hours, we

(01:59):
will look ahead and do some Chiefs preview. We'll have
some Christmas conversation. I've got a special edition of the
here we Go song for you.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
I I don't.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
Know, do I want to tease this, do I want
to kind of give it away? Do I want to
explain what's going on? Here's what's going on? One Motes
is not here. I'm by myself. That always makes the
here we Go song a little more difficult.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
I can do it.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
I have done at a cappella and it works. It lands,
but it doesn't have quite the same punch. It doesn't
land quite as dramatically as when Motes is here. So
I've got more of a here we Go poem for
you today, if you will, in the spirit of Christmas,
talking about those Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

(02:42):
As we also need a little bit of a mojo change,
as you loyal listeners to this program. No, sometimes when
the Steelers go in a little bit of a losing streak,
we might switch it up from the here we Go
song and roll with something a little different. Well, that's
what we're going to do today. But in the spirit
of the thing, the energy and the meaning will still
be there, all right. All right, And of course, since

(03:07):
this is the last show before these Steelers play a game,
you know what that means. I want your predictions. How
do you think tomorrow is going to play out? Get
at me with your predictions. I'll read those off in
the second hour before I get out of here. That
is my promise to you. At Wesley Yuler on Twitter
on x is where you can get involved. And typically

(03:27):
on these Fixen's shows, right our last shows before game days,
where we have so much going on, we just take
prediction tweets, no real other questions, comments, concerns, reactions, anything
like that. Well, today, since I'm Wess solo and can
I just be a little honest with everybody? All right,
everyone step inside the circle of trust here, all right,

(03:49):
take a knee. We're all here inside the trust tree.
I feel a little lazy, Okay, not super lazy. I
don't want to say that I'm just mail this show
in all right, you've all listened to me before.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
I got too much pride to be doing that, all right,
but maybe we could just just get a little lazy
together here.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
So you got questions. I got answers about football, about Christmas,
about New Year's, about holiday traditions, food, music, any sports
in general, Steelers related, NFL related, holiday related, Christmas related,
life related. I'm here for you for the next hour
and fifty minutes at Wesley Yuler is where you get involved.

(04:35):
You guys got tweets, You got questions, serious, funny, anything
in between. I'll entertain them today because I am willing
to be just a little bit, just a little bit
lazy on this Christmas Eve. All right, the rest of you,
you've gone over the river, you've gone through the woods,
two grandmother's house, and you're enjoying some family time and

(04:55):
some relaxation. Hopefully, I've got about an hour and fifty
minute it's left until I can do the same, until
we're back at it for a long day tomorrow at.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
Thursday and Friday.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
But this weekend I'm gonna have my vengeance, all right,
So you know, join me for this time period. I
know you all have the tweets, you know where to
get at me if you want to get involved. A
couple of those rolling in already, we will get to
those as we go along here, predictions rolling in.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
I'll give you mine special edition.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
Here we go song, all those good things, some Christmas
ice breakers, all of that tomfoolery that you come to expect.
But it is a big one we all expect. We
all know tomorrow one o'clock at Akrischer Stadium on Netflix,
between the fourteen and one Kansas City Chiefs and your
ten and five Pittsburgh Steelers. Who now, and this is

(05:50):
something else you can let me know on Twitter too.
Tweet me about this because I'd be interested. Here's what
you can do. Tweet me your prediction, tweet me a
Christmas question, and then tweet me answer to this question.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
How bad?

Speaker 4 (06:04):
How desperate are you for a Steelers victory tomorrow? And
I don't even necessary I think you know where I'm
going with this, But I don't necessarily mean in the
sense of just to be happy and enjoy yourself on Christmas.
I mean this team coming off of two losses, and
what we all talked was a huge three game stretch
here for this team, right, three games in eleven days,

(06:25):
all against teams that were either first place in their division,
like the Eagles or the Chiefs or hot on your
tail as the Ravens were in the AFC North, three
playoff teams, three Super Bowl contenders, all these things in
eleven days. The Steelers have lost those first two games,
by fourteen in Philly, by seventeen in Baltimore. As it

(06:46):
relates to this game tomorrow, the Steelers have a playoff
spot clinched, the division title still up for grabs. So
where are you at? Is tomorrow very important because you
need to get back on the right track. You still
want to win the division and you can't go zero
to three in these stretch of games. Or are you
still you still a little tranquilo? You still pretty calm

(07:09):
about this? Because all that really matters? I think there
is fair validity to saying, just survive this game, get healthy,
You're gonna get in the playoffs, Homer away, it doesn't matter.
What really matters is getting George Pickens back, getting Joey
Porter Junior back, Deshaun Elliott, Dante Jackson, and the list
goes on and on and on and on of these

(07:30):
injuries that the Steelers are dealing with.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
So where are you at? Concern? Why are you calm? Concern? Worried? Panicked?

Speaker 4 (07:37):
How desperately do you need Do you want a win tomorrow?
And like I said, not necessarily just for because it's
Christmas and we all want to be holly and jolly.
I mean in terms of your Steelers sanity. For a
team that was ten and three now ten and five,
how are you balancing that you need to win? You
can't lose three in a row, especially this time of year. Verse,

(07:59):
just get out of there sixty minutes of football, healthy
and alive, and get ready for the postseason.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
So that's what's on the table today.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
Prediction tweets, Christmas tweets, your thoughts on that question that
I just laid out there for you. I guess anything
else as well too, because like I said, won't.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
Be a little bit lazy. We can be a little bit.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
Lazy here on this Christmas Eve together if you've got
other questions. The tweets are rolling in, the predictions are
rolling in. I love it. I had a feeling you
guys would be rocking and rolling with us today. I
know it's Christmas Eve. I know a lot of people
are doing family stuff, but we obviously know the Steeler
nation is massive as well too. I don't think a
ton of you are out there traveling still right now.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
I'm sure you are.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
Mike Jones tweeted me about how he's about to hop
on a plane to Pittsburgh here in less than thirty minutes,
so I know some of you were certainly traveling. But
there wasn't much traffic on my way in here this
morning at about nine am, coming in to produce Max
and Wolf. So I got a feeling most of you are,
like I said, over the river through the woods, already
at Grandma's house and you're ready to go, hopefully for

(09:01):
the show today. I'm ready to go. I'm excited for this.
Here we go edition holiday poem. If you will that
I've written for you poem.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (09:11):
Listen, sometimes people have a negative connotation with poem. All right,
but I promise you I got some bars for you here. Okay,
I like poems. I like poetry, but some people don't.
But I promise you you're.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
Gonna like this.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
And a really big game to be excited about you want.
All right, let's do this before we go to break
or maybe should I save this? I got two I
got two statistics for you. I've got two eye popping numbers.
Here's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna give you one
now and then one when we return in our second segment. Okay,

(09:50):
Patrick Mahomes the quarterback of the Kansasity Chiefs, when he
plays against a team that is led by a head
coach that has won a Super Bowl. So, when Patrick
Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are playing against a
head coach that has won a Super Bowl, like Mike
Tomlin has, Patrick Mahomes is twenty two and five against

(10:11):
head coaches who have won a Super Bowl. Twenty two
and five. That's eighty two percent of the time nearly
winning that game. If you think that is a heck
of a statistic, I've got another one about these Chiefs
that's maybe even more impressive. We'll get into that some
of the numbers behind this. I will have a five

(10:33):
Star Friday for you at one o'clock at the top
of the second hour that will look specifically at some
of these matchups.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
The tweets are rolling in. I love it.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
Let's keep it going here. We'll get to some of
those when we return on the other side, maybe into
some of the Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
I keep saying.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
Christmas tom foolery, but is it really tom foolery or
is it just the most wonderful time of the year.
Christmas and football are two biggest institutions in America, baby,
and what better place than the ki him Right here
on the Steelers Audio Network.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
This is the Steeler's Blitz with Wesley Euler and Arthur
Motes on your twenty four to seven home of the
Black and Gold Skin.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
R Sense tweets and says, oh Man, is West going
to be the next Dick Lebaux and do Night Before Christmas?
Frank tweets any chances Mike Tomlins bringing in Dick le.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
Beau to read the Night Before Christmas?

Speaker 4 (11:49):
I listen, all right, I'll give you a little bit
now the Here we Go song this week, and maybe
I'll do it twice. Maybe that'll be Maybe we'll do
it at the end of this first hour here, maybe
in about twenty twenty five minutes or so, and then
I'll do it at the end of the show as usual.
It is a along the same lines of I guess

(12:10):
reading a poem a story like the Night Before Christmas?
But what I did was I took a beloved classic
old fashioned Christmas song Grandma got ran over by a reindeer,
and I rewrote the words about these Steelers upcoming opponents.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
It's a poem, it's a song. It's a little huh.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
I almost said a little ditty, but now in the
sense of pop culture, some people might be confused. Never mind,
we're not even going there. I wrote a song. I
wrote a little poem, a little riff called Mahomes got
ran over by a reindeer.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
And we'll get to that in about twenty minutes.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
But I would never try and stand and do Dick
Leabo's thing, all right, although it would be pretty sweet
if we can get Dick with bow to do it
for us tonight or maybe tomorrow morning before the game.
That would be just I show up there at after
sure about eight thirty nine o'clock tomorrow morning, and there's

(13:13):
a nice little bonfire and some coffee pored, and Dick
Labo's just sitting there reading the night before Christmas. Although
I guess on Christmas Day that would be a little late,
but you get what I'm saying. It would still be delightful.
But yes, I have got a little a little classic
Christmas song rewritten for you in the spirit of competition.
And like I said, we'll do that twice. Since it's

(13:33):
a special occasion. We'll do that twice about twenty minutes
from now, and then, as always, before we get out
of here. At the end of the program, the tweets
are rolling in. I love it. I had some audio
and this is a promise I'll make to you all
as well too. All right, you help me, I'll help you.
I have some audio potentially that we can play. You

(13:54):
guys know, even typically on days where I'm solo, I
still don't really play any audio.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
Sometimes will line up some guests.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
Well, guess what, no one wanted to do it today
or couldn't do it today because it's Christmas Eve. I mean,
selfish jerks. They'd rather spend time with their family than
with me. How dare they?

Speaker 3 (14:10):
The admittigated goal.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
But I do have some audio that we can play
if we have to. But the tweets are rolling in.
As long as the tweets continue to roll in and
we can stimulate conversation for each other, football wise, Stealer wise,
Kansas City Chiefs wise, Christmas wise. Otherwise we'll continue and

(14:33):
I won't play to that audio, and we can just
lead each other nicely.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
Into the Christmas late afternoon slash early evening. Does that
sound good? Does that work with everybody? Does that sound
like a plan? All right?

Speaker 4 (14:50):
A few of you chiming in about the question that
I asked in our first segment, specifically as it relates
to how do you feel about this game tomorrow? Are
you desperate for a win because you don't want to
lose all three of this gauntlet stretch in a row.
You don't want to lose three in a row, period,
but especially not this late in the season. Or are
you looking more at it and say, and I guess

(15:10):
if you're in that first group two, the wanting to
host a home playoff game might be part of that
as well. Or are you, hey, you know what what
really matters is three games in an eleven days here
just getting healthy. Let's get our guys back for the playoffs,
and then we have a chance to go on a run.
Having home field advantage is great, but if we're still
missing a bunch of people and we're banged up, it's

(15:32):
not gonna matter. I'd rather go on the road and
be healthy. I'd rather not win the division, but prioritize health.
The result doesn't matter as much to me tomorrow, as
opposed to just getting right in the injury department. I
think both of those sides make valid points. I could
argue both of those sides, I think very easily. I

(15:52):
would lean towards the I want to win on Wednesday.
I don't want to lose three games in a row
at this point in the season. I do want to
build some momentum. Beat the Chiefs here, get a long
week off, beat the Bengals at home in the final
game of the season. Finished the year with twelve wins,
which would be a clear step forward from last year.
Host a home playoff game for the first time with

(16:13):
a full Akroscher Stadium crowd since twenty seventeen. That's where
I'm leaning. But I also don't think the like if
you're telling me that you're you're not incredibly pressed about
tomorrow's result, more so as you are balanced with just
getting healthy in January. I think that's fair logic too.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
I do.

Speaker 4 (16:34):
Gonna get to some of those tweets in just a second.
The other statistics that I had for you that I
teased when we went to break, because I'm really bad
at that. I think as a radio host, I do
a lot of self scouting. I've talked about this with
you all before, not really as much as I used to.
I'm very busy now with my professional life, and I

(16:55):
have two children, a three year old and a one
and a half year old, so I don't have as
much time to sit and listen to the tape and
watch my film like I used to.

Speaker 3 (17:04):
But I still think I do.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
I still like to self scout, and I still think
I'm pretty self aware, and I think I know what
I do well as a radio host and as a broadcaster,
and I think I know the areas where I struggle
and can improve. One of those areas sometimes where I
struggle and can improve is I'll tease something and then
I'll forget to talk about it or give the statistics
or give the answer or whatever it was. I'll say, oh, man,

(17:29):
I've got a daunting number for you about Patrick Mahomes
and the Chiefs. We'll talk about it on the other side,
and then on the other side, I just get into
your tweets or something comes up, and I forget about it.
I do that too often. I'm not gonna do that
to you now. Although I did make you wait about
seven minutes that statistic is this in the last calendar year. Okay,
so since this time last year, do you want to
know something insane? The Kansas City Chiefs are twenty and one.

(17:57):
In the last calendar year, last three hundred and sixty
five days, the Kansas City Chiefs have played twenty one
football games. They have won twenty of them, with that
only loss being, of course, to the Buffalo Bills, a
pretty stinking good team as well, just a couple weeks ago. Impressive,

(18:19):
most impressive, that's just insane. I mean, they are around
this time last year, a little before this time last
year got hot, and they have hardly looked back twenty
and one, with the only loss being in Buffalo to
the Super Bowl contending Bills just a couple weeks ago.

(18:41):
I know they don't look like the world beater Chiefs
this year that they have at times throughout the Andy
Reid Patrick Mahomes era, but like, that's just ridiculous. The
last twenty one football games they've played, they've won twenty
of them in the last calendar year three hundred sixty
five days. Twenty and one. That's pretty stinking ridiculous. On

(19:09):
Twitter at wesle Yuler is where you can continue to
chime in with again all these things that we've laid
out over the show. Kate nine Diablo says, I'm not
desperate for a win. The Steelers seem to do better
when people don't expect them to be good. So I'm
gonna go at the flow and pull my hair out
in wild Card week. Well, listen, I mean that's the

(19:30):
other part of this too, is we know the Steelers
are going to the playoffs, and for some people, having
that home playoff game big deal, other people not so much.
You might look at it and you could say, hey,
if we go on the road, we probably have to
go to Houston, and I'd rather go to Houston than
host Baltimore or Denver. I don't disagree with any of

(19:52):
that logic or hate any of that logic. I think
it's all fair. I don't think there's a clear cut
right or wrong answer. I wouldn't say I'm desperate for
the Steelers to win tomorrow, but I would really like
to see the Steelers win tomorrow. I just think losing
three games this late in the season is not a

(20:13):
great recipe for momentum and confidence in all of those things.
Rolling into the final week of the season. In the
postseason looming right around the corner, Steeler Man seven says,
what's your favorite Christmas cookie? And we need this win
tomorrow like a present needs a bow. Merry Christmas, Steeler Nation.
Now I see what you're saying there. We need this

(20:34):
win bad like a present needs a bow. I think
some people would argue a present doesn't need a bow.
But I get what you're saying there. Or is that
what you're saying is that you're trying to open up?
Did you just inception me on this question? Did you
just create an argument within the argument? Do the Steelers
need to win tomorrow like a present needs a bow?

Speaker 1 (20:49):
Well?

Speaker 4 (20:49):
Does a present need a bow? What do you I
see what you're doing there, Steelers Man seven. But I
think a present does need a bow. Not maybe not
every single present, but the nice ones, right, the ones
on Christmas?

Speaker 3 (21:04):
My favorite Christmas cookie?

Speaker 1 (21:07):
Man?

Speaker 4 (21:09):
All Right, this is gonna be a little bit of
a cop out answer, But like whatever ones most recently
came fresh out of the oven, I.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
Really love a fresh warm cookie.

Speaker 4 (21:18):
Still got some warmth and some heat to it, but
it's got the moisture as well. And I don't mean
like it doesn't need to be like falling apart, mushy,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
Still nice bite to it.

Speaker 4 (21:28):
Oh, but it's like it's got a crunch and a
moisture at the same time. It's still a little bit warm. Oh,
it's the best. It's the best. That's my favorite kind
of Christmas cookie. That's a little bit of a cop out.
That might be a little bit of.

Speaker 3 (21:43):
A cop out. I don't care. I got the microphone.

Speaker 4 (21:45):
Cuban Dan Dale says, I'm calm about this game tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
I just want our players healthy.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
That being said, I do not have children, But if
I thought having a kid and sacrificing it on.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
Oh wait, okay, hold on, wait a second.

Speaker 4 (22:04):
Okay, Cuban Dan says, I'm calm and want our players healthy.
That being said, I don't have children, but if I
thought having a child and sacrificing it on the altar
would get us a win over Kansas City, I would
make that happen with this vile Cuban. At first, there,
I thought this was turning really dark instead of you know,
a joke on Twitter here, all right, but you know

(22:25):
this is maybe why it's maybe I should screen all
of these tweets ahead of time, Dale, But I understand
what you're saying there, like you just want our players healthy.
I that, to me is the real balance of tomorrow
is because to get a win tomorrow, you gotta think
you're gonna have all hands on deck. To have all
hands on deck, you might have some guys who certainly
could go, but aren't one hundred percent healthy. Maybe the

(22:48):
extra rest really would be the final element to that,
Like guys who could play. If this was a playoff game,
they must win for the Steelers. But you can look
at it and say it's not a playoff game. It's
not a must win for the stealer.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
Hmm.

Speaker 4 (23:03):
Annie tweets and says Christmas cookies, are you not a
or which Christmas treats part of me?

Speaker 3 (23:08):
Are you not a fan of? Personally?

Speaker 4 (23:10):
I will skip candy canes and fruitcakes all day every day.
Will be bummed if the Steelers lose tomorrow, but more
because of the three straight losses verse clinching the division.
That's interesting, that's fair Christmas treats? Am I not a
fan of? Yeah, I'm not a huge candy cane person
Like wouldn't say that I hate them? Like I'm not
a big fruitcake nut roll kind of guy either. I

(23:34):
just like the chocolates and the cookies. Not a huge
peppermint guy, so the peppermints. And again, I don't hate it,
like I don't turn my nose up at it and
throw it away.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
I'll have it.

Speaker 4 (23:47):
It's not the end of the world. It's just not
my go to. It's not something I seek out. It's
kind of the same with my pumpkin spice and pumpkin
flavored stuff around Halloween.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
I don't hate it now, I'll have it, but it's
just not like I'm not jonesing for it either.

Speaker 4 (24:03):
At the same time, should give me some classic cookies,
maybe a cup of hot coco, and I'm good to go. Go,
Doug says to me, this might be the most important
game of the season. Win this one, you roll into
it many bye with high confidence and finish out the
season and carry that into the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
So see, that's kind of the other side of this
as well too.

Speaker 4 (24:28):
After this game, you've got what ten days until you
play next at home against Cincinnati, So it is that
proverbial MANI bye. I guess you would argue that if
you're gonna have three losses in a row. The time
to do it would be before like a many buy,
when you would really have time to reset and kind
of regather yourself. That you can absolutely look at it

(24:48):
the other way too, and say, don't you want to
hit that little bit of a stretch there with some momentum,
with some feel good head into having a few days
off on a high note. Get your body right, get
your mind right, get back and ready for the final
game of the regular season in the home stretch. I
could certainly see that as well too. The psychology of
winning this big game on Christmas before having a few

(25:09):
days off puts a pep in everybody's step. Get your
mind right, get your mentals right, get your emotions right,
have a couple of days off extra to get the body.
I don't want to say body right, because no one's
getting their body right this late in the season, but
at least in the right direction and feeling a little
bit better and a little bit more rested. I can

(25:30):
certainly see that side of it as well too. Abraham says,
I'm still calm, but starting to get a little anxious.
The Steelers need to win this game, and I think
they are going to be fighting hard for a big
win after losing two games in a row. Otherwise people
are going to think this team is a faker. Hey,
I think some people are saying that now, and I

(25:50):
don't think. In fact, I know they're not that concerned
about that within the Steelers' locker room. But from the
psychology standpoint of the fan base, tomorrow and there will
be a lot of angst, certainly a lot of panic,
I think, heading into that final game of a regular
season against the Bengals, let's do another refresh year of

(26:16):
the tweets. Call me Darren says that stat will be
twenty and two after tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
Merry Christmas. I hope so. I hope so.

Speaker 4 (26:23):
And listen, the good news is too or I mean
not even the good news, or maybe just the reality
is the better way to label this, because I don't
want to say it's good news that these teams are
beat up. It's good news that these teams are beat up.
Kansas City's beat up too. Man, they got a lot
of injuries too. That's good news, and that's not the
right way to frame that, but you get what I'm saying.
The reality is, Kansas City's doing this too. They're banged

(26:47):
up too. Chris Jones and Juwan Taylor, two very important
pieces for them, starting defensive tackles, starting offensive tackle both
questionable for tomorrow's game. Connor and Humphreys already ruled out
for Kansas City, so the Chiefs are not loving this either.
This is not ideal for Kansas City either. Patrick Mahomes

(27:09):
is a little banged up as well too. They've got
a veteran grill. Like you think a guy like Travis Kelce,
who is, you know, getting into his mid thirties here
and has played a lot of football, a lot of
extra postseason games, you think he's all jacked up and
excited about playing a third game in eleven days, you know,
Like I know, Cam Hayward said, this is what these
guys signed up for, and in a way, it is.

(27:32):
But that doesn't make it any better. That doesn't make
it any easier. These games now, these types of schedule
now is a big part of the reason why these
guys are making so much money in the modern game.
That also, though, doesn't make it any easier. Just because
they're making a lot of money and well compensated, doesn't
make those injuries hurt or linger any less. And you

(27:54):
know guys that are especially in that thirty you know,
early to mid thirties, not spring chickens anymore, even more so.
But Kansas City's going through it too. Kansas City's got
there guys with lumps and bumps and bruises too. They
are not rolling into Pittsburgh tonight soon, I would imagine
they're probably taking off before too much longer here from

(28:15):
Kansas City to fly into town this evening. Like they
don't have a clean bill of health as well. They're
not sitting there feeling well and energized and great from
a health standpoint either. So it's gonna be hell Man.
As much as I hate to say this, minus the
snow globe weather element, I think it's gonna be a

(28:36):
little bit like that Thursday night game against Cleveland. That
game really came down to who made the plays in
situational moments and who took care of the football. The
Browns converted their fourth downs, the Steelers got stuffed on theirs.
The Browns converted more of the opportunities in those crucial
possession down and scoring time situations, the Steelers did not,

(29:01):
and the Browns end up winning a close game at
the very end. I think it's going to be a
similar type game tomorrow on a short week, banged up teams.
Who can have success in the red zone, who can
have success on possession downs, and who can have those
one or two turnovers that's.

Speaker 3 (29:17):
Gonna be a key moment.

Speaker 4 (29:20):
Or who can have a special teams moment, or who
doesn't make a you know, like that Browns game. The
twelve yard punt by Corless Weightman, his only punt of
the game was a huge moment. Is there going to
be another special teams moment like that? We shall see.
Cuban Dan tweets you could say we are equally equally disadvantaged.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
There you go.

Speaker 4 (29:40):
That's a good way to put it, along with Houston
and Baltimore who were doing this thing as well too,
playing on Christmas after playing on Saturday as well. It
ain't ideal, but everyone's in it together. Equally disadvantaged. Go
out there and execute. Be good in the red zone
as an offense, make sure you're going touchdowns. As a defense,

(30:01):
hold them to field goals, take care of the football,
force a turnover or two, and have a special teams
moment that's a positive, big impact in your direction. That's
how you win games like this, and getting a team
like Kansas City, who's twenty to one in the last
calendar year, maybe getting them on a short week when
you're all equally disadvantaged, maybe it does level the Maybe
it's the antie, maybe it's the the juxtaposition. I'd definitely

(30:26):
use that wrong of what happened in Cleveland. The weather
was the great equalizer in Cleveland, right with a Browns
team who's not as good as the Steelers, maybe this
short week great equalizer. Go out there at home buttoned
up and that can be the difference in this one.
Get it done, get Kansas City that loss. They don't

(30:47):
want to be playing either. They're banged up too. They
just want to go home on Taylor Swift's private jet
and open some Christmas presents when we come back on
the other side. More of your tweets and Patrick Mahomes.
The debut of Patrick Mahomes got ran over by a reindeer.
I'm Wes Schuler. It's the Steelers Blitz on the Steelers

(31:08):
Audio Network.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
This is the Steelers Blitz with Wesley Euler and Arthur
Motz on your twenty four to seven Home of the
Black and gold S n R.

Speaker 4 (31:42):
Big news here into the program like Santa's sleigh at
the last minute, saving the day. Brian Baco going to
join us at one point twenty with all the latest
from practice. We'll get his prediction, of course, a time
Hodern tradition here on the Steelers Blitz. So just when
I thought Bacco was out for today, he totally redeems

(32:03):
himself and he will join me about a half an
hour from now. The tweets continue to roll in at
Wesley Yuler Steelers Chiefs, football questions, comments, concerns, Christmas questions, comments, thoughts,
anything and everything you get at me. Keep those tweets

(32:24):
rolling in. We will continue to get to those as
we roll along here. But now it's time for maybe
a I don't know about new tradition because I got
to imagine, or at least I hope it'll be pretty
rare that we're doing, you know, Christmas Eve shows and
things like that Christmas games. Although to be fair, I mean,

(32:45):
the Steelers just played on Christmas Eve two years ago.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
Now they're playing on Christmas. Who am I kidding?

Speaker 4 (32:49):
The Steelers it's a five star matchup because we're in it.
So maybe this will be a new Christmas holiday tradition here.

Speaker 3 (32:58):
On the Steelers Blitz. But you all know the class.

Speaker 4 (33:01):
I didn't want to do the here We Go song
a cappella because I've done that lately.

Speaker 3 (33:07):
The Steelers have lost lately. We need to change up
the vibe, and so in the spirit of the thing,
I have taken the I swear to you this happened organically. Okay.

Speaker 4 (33:20):
I was driving driving down here to work this morning.
I had my phone on shuffle on the Apple Music
Christmas station, and the classic song Grandma Got Ran Over
by a Reindeer came on, and in my crazy messed
up radio host brain goofball self.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
That I am, I thought, you know what I could do.
I could take these lyrics and.

Speaker 4 (33:47):
I could easily rewrite this something funny about the upcoming game.
So in the spirit of the thing, this is Mahomes
got ran over by a stealer.

Speaker 3 (33:59):
Yin's new favorite Christmas song slash poem.

Speaker 4 (34:05):
Mahomes got ran over by a stealer walking down near
after Sure Christmas Eve. You can say there's no such
thing as pickens. But as for me and Stealer Nation,
we believe Kelsey's drinking too much Turners playing outside in

(34:27):
the snow, and now Travis is in big trouble because
he missed the latest Taylor Swift show. We found Big
Red Christmas morning with some nuggies in a sack. He
had per Manni's on his forehead and a terrible towel

(34:52):
hanging from his back. Oh Mahomes got ran over by
a stealer.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
Walking down near Act.

Speaker 4 (35:01):
Sure, Christmas Eve, you can say there's no such thing
as pickens, but as for here in Stealer Nation, we believe.
Now we're all so proud of Boswell, he's been kicking.

Speaker 3 (35:17):
It's so well.

Speaker 4 (35:20):
Here comes Rush throwing the football, delivering gifts like he's
part of Santa's personnel. No, it's not Christmas without football.
All the yinsers dressed in black, and we just can't help.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
But wonder.

Speaker 4 (35:40):
Should we give the chiefs call before we send them back?

Speaker 3 (35:43):
Send them back?

Speaker 4 (35:44):
Oh my Homes got ran over by a steeler walking
down near Act. Sure, Christmas Eve, you can say there's
no such thing as pickens, but as for me and Stealer.

Speaker 3 (35:59):
Nation, we believe. One more time.

Speaker 4 (36:02):
Oh Mahomes got ran over by a stealer walking down
near rakersher Christmas Eve. You can say there's no such
thing as Pickens. But as for me and Stealer Nation,
we believe that's Mahomes got ran over by a stealer.

And not too bad, huh, not too bad? Pretty good
in place of the here we Go song. We needed
some new juju, all right. The Andy Reid verse was
pretty good, huh. Found Big Red Christmas morning with some
nuggies in a sack.

Speaker 3 (36:44):
Priman.

Speaker 4 (36:44):
He's on his forehead, terrible tow hanging from his back.
I mean, come on, I mean, come on. I hope
you enjoyed that, all right. I put way too much
time into that this morning. Not actually, it took me
a few minutes. Pretty good, I hope, So, I hope
you liked it. That's the first hour of the show.
In the books, we got a lot of tweets to
go here. We got some five star Friday to go here,

the second hour of the show. Your predictions, keep those
rolling in at Wesley Yuler is where you get involved,
Chris quickly before we go to break here responding to
that first hour question that I asked about, kind of
where you know, what's your temperature for tomorrow? And how
important the win is verse just getting right before the

(37:28):
playoffs from a health perspective, Chris says, I want a
healthy team over a win. However, I think they do
need a solid win over a playoff team for their confidence.
I know they're professionals, but they're also humans. Merry Christmas, Hey,
Merry Christmas to you Chris and everybody out there instillar
