(00:21):
When it comes to alcohol andstopping drinking, you are being
lied to and right now, in thisvery moment, you have a choice.
Do you want to keep being liedto?
Do you want to take the bluepill like in the movie the
Matrix and just see life the waythat it is and never really
question anything?
Or are you going to sit andwatch this entire video and find
out the truth?

(00:41):
Because in this video, I needto restore some truth, because I
am so sick of seeing this lie.
It is pissing me off and I'mgetting angry just talking about
it, because you wait for what'sto come in this video and
listen.
If you don't like conflict, ifyou don't like drama, don't
watch this video, because I'mgoing to call people out in this
video because I am sick todeath of it.
This advice is killing people.
It's an outright lie.

(01:02):
This video could be the onethat just makes everything click
for you and you can put alcoholbehind of you and move on with
your life.
That's my intention with thisvideo.
You don't want to miss this one.
So, for those of you that arenew here, my name is Leon
Sylvester.
I drank alcohol for close to 10years and the lie that I'm
going to talk to you about inthis video did a lot of damage
to me during those 10 years.
It was something that kept mestuck for so long.

(01:24):
So I make videos now abouttruth.
Right, I'm trying to restoretruth to this whole industry of
alcohol and stopping drinking, and I'm not here today to make
you feel warm and fuzzy insideor keep you entertained, like Mr
Beast.
I am here to give you truth, and the reason why I'm making
this video this is just a quicktangent, a quick side note is me
and my friend.
We were talking about podcastsand we noticed a pattern.

(01:47):
I don't know if you've seenthese podcasts at the moment,
but you know they get two veryhigh status people sat down
having a conversation with eachother.
You'll get some expert and someexpert podcaster, and I don't
know if you've noticed, but haveyou ever noticed in these
podcasts that they're searchingfor the truth?
I've never seen it.
It's two people that don't wantto upset each other.
They're kind of almost justasking these really easy

(02:09):
questions, letting them saywhatever they want, and there's
never any pushback, there'snever any dive into any specific
thing that they said.
It happens, but it's so rare andanyway, the way that I saw this
live is I was scrolling onInstagram, so I've recently
started posting more onInstagram.
You can find me at SoberLeonand I've kept off Instagram for
a long time.
I think it's brain rot, right.
I think it's very addictive andyou can't really get in depth

(02:32):
in things like you can onYouTube.
But I've started posting onInstagram now and I kept seeing
this advice and I'm like dude,is there something wrong with
Instagram?
Are these people having a joke?
What is this thing that I'mtalking about?
Let me get into it.
So I'll see a post and it mightbe, I don't know 10 ways to
live healthier and the post willsay exercise more no-transcript

(02:56):
less.
Do you know how many times I'veseen this advice to drink less?
This isn't advice.
This is ridiculous.
It is the stupidest thing I'veever heard in my life.
See, in my own life, when Idrank for 10 years, I tried to
drink less.
In fact, every single time thatI drink a lot, I always had the
intention to not drink much.
I'd vow to myself right tonightI'm gonna have one drink and

(03:19):
then that's it.
And you know what, sometimes Imight manage to do that.
Most of the time I wouldn't.
Most of the time, I'd alwaysdrink more than I intended to.
Now, sure, not everybody is likethis, but to just give this
advice of drink less and thenput it out to everybody, it's
just ludicrous.
It's a little bit like thepodcast that I was talking about
earlier.
Rather than search for thetruth and really unpack this

(03:39):
idea of drinking less, they justsay it because they don't want
to upset their audience.
They don't want to upset thepeople that consume this content
.
Listen, I don't care if I upsetpeople.
I want you to see the truth.
That's all that matters to me,because I have a 0% success rate
of drinking less.
And that's not just me.
In fact, the vast majority ofpeople who try to apply this
advice of drinking less neverfind success with this advice.

(04:02):
It is terrible advice and itworks for a small percentage of
the population.
How many people have you met inyour life that drink less, that
were drinking a lot and thenall of a sudden, they've managed
to miraculously start drinkinghalf the amount that they used
to.
It's so rare and even if theymanaged to do it, it only
usually works for a short periodof time before it's like an
elastic band that just breaksand then they're out of control

(04:23):
again.
That's what happened to me andfor most people.
This is terrible, terribleadvice.
Just think about it for a second.
Let's say I have a crackcocaine problem, right, and I've
got this terrible problem withthis drug.
It's destroying my life.
And then I scroll on Instagramand it's saying you know, if you
want to be healthier, meditate, eat more vegetables and smoke

(04:44):
less crap.
What would you think to that?
You know that person would beoh my gosh, they'd be attacked.
They'd be Reddit posts sayingthis person.
I can't believe they're sayingthis.
But then the individual that'stelling us to drink less.
It's fine, but just look atthis graph for a minute.
This graph shows the severityof addiction and the damage that
the drug does to you.
Where do you see alcohol?
We don't see alcohol at thebottom.

(05:05):
We see this at the peak, one ofthe most dangerous and
addictive drugs known to man andwe're being told to drink less.
Dude, what are you talkingabout, in fact?
Listen, I'm not here to namenames and shame anybody I have
seen.
Stop drinking coaches.
Listen to me.
Stop drinking coaches say thatthey still drink alcohol.
What is going on?
Have we lost our minds?

(05:25):
What is alcohol?
Right, let's unpack it.
Let's ignore the conditioning.
Let's ignore the way that themedia has told us to view it.
Let's ignore the marketingmessages that have been pushed
on us by billions of pounds ofadvertising spend.
Let's ignore all of that andunpack alcohol.
What is it?
Alcohol is ethanol.
What do we use ethanol for?
What do we use ethanol for?

(05:45):
What do we use alcohol for?
We use it to clean things as anindustrial cleaner.
We use it as fuel.
What does it do for our bodies?
Nothing.
Do you know what it does forour bodies?
Causes cancer.
Do you know what else it does?
Gives us cirrhosis of the liver.
Do you know what it does forour relationships?
Can destroy them.
So just drink less.
Just drink less of thatcancer-causing substance.
Just drink less of that thingthat can destroy your liver.
In fact, drink less of thatthing that pretty much destroys
every cell it comes into contactwith what is going on out here.

(06:07):
I am sick to death of thisadvice of drink less.
Be honest with yourself.
Listen.
If you like this advice ofdrink less, what are you going
to tell your children?
Don't drink or drink less, whatdo you really want your
children to do?
Do you want your children togrow up drinking this drug?
I don't.
If I could wave a magic wand, they'd never touch it.
Listen, I won't be able tocontrol that.
That's going to be theirdecision, but I'm going to have
conversations so they can seethe lies, see the nonsense,

(06:29):
because unpack it.
Alcohol is ethanol.
It's a highly addictive,cancer-causing drug that does
nothing.
Things have changed now.
There was a study done in 2018that shows that there is zero
amount of alcohol that is safeto drink.
There is no recommended amountto drink anymore.
Sure, alcohol companies havelobbied governments to say that
there's a recommended dailyallowance, the same way that

(06:50):
there's a recommended dailyintake of protein.
Oh, what the heck is going on.
Listen, I'm one guy giving youthis message.
This video might get 5,000,10,000, 20,000 views, whatever.
Do you think that that's goingto be enough to combat the
billions of dollars ofadvertising spend that have been
pushed on you from day one ofbeing born, the people that
watch it.
I hope so, but think of all theother people that are listening

(07:11):
to this nonsense advice.
Alcohol is a drug and drugs area chain reaction.
You drink one and then you wantto drink more and more and more
.
There's no such thing asdrinking less.
If you could drink less, you'dalready drink less.
Are there people out there thatdrink less?
Yes, should we try to emulatethat?
Absolutely not.
We should see those people thatdrink less and feel sorry for

(07:31):
them.
Why would they even want to dothat in the first place?
That's the right mindset.
So just know, when you see thisadvice of drinking less,
remember this video, rememberthis message, come back to it.
And hey, maybe you should leavea comment on these people that
are telling us to drink less andtell them they're out of their
mind.
And one last important pointthat I need to get clear A lot
of the times in my material, inmy content on this YouTube
channel, I will talk aboutcontrolling your drinking, but I

(07:58):
never really truly explain whatcontrol means.
So I do get a few comments hereand there.
People say this guy's crazy, you can't control your drinking.
Yeah, you're right, but you cancontrol it.
But we need to define control.
I am in control of jumping infront of a bus.
I can control myself.
I can choose not to, or I canchoose to jump in front of it I
can.
I'm also in control of crackcocaine.
I can smoke crack cocainewhenever I want.
Okay, it's illegal, so let'sjust ignore that aspect of
things.
But you get the point.

(08:19):
I am in control of murder.
You are in control of thesethings, but because you know
that they're the wrong thing todo, you don't do them.
That's true control.
We live in a world where youwill have to control yourself
around alcohol, but that doesn'tmean that you're going to
control your drinking.
Have one or two drinks.
True control is being able tosee that thing but having no
desire to do it.

(08:40):
That is true control.
So don't drink less.
Take control of alcohol.
Take control of your life.
