(00:21):
Alcohol is one of the mostaddictive and destructive drugs
in the modern world.
So if you're struggling to stopdrinking, it's no wonder.
Billions and billions of dollarsare spent on marketing it to
make it seem normal, to make itseem glamorous and
sophisticated.
They've got propaganda going inthe movies, it's put in sporting
(00:41):
events.
Alcohol companies are known tofund scientific research where
all of a sudden we're nowlearning the great benefits of
consuming this cancer-causingpoison.
And all of these things that aremanipulating you to see alcohol
as something that enhances yourlife are the reason why it's so
hard to stop drinking.
And if you're struggling rightnow, you're not alone.
(01:03):
It is okay.
Because not only do we have thisbombardment, these messages just
pushed on us from the day thatwe've been born, but also when
we tried to stop drinking, thesolutions we've got just don't
work.
How do I know?
Because I've tried them.
I've tried everything.
I've tried calling myself analcoholic, a diseased, powerless
person.
(01:23):
I've tried stopping withwillpower, just fighting the
urge, being strong.
I'm a strong person.
I can squat an awful lot ofweight.
I can work extremely hard.
I'm a strong-willed human.
And I'm sure you are as well.
So surely if we just fight itand resist, it's gonna be okay.
It never is.
Something always takes us backto the drink.
But it's not just you.
Through my work with mybusiness, soberclear.com, where
(01:45):
I work with business owners andprofessionals and I help them
get control of their drinking, sometimes in under 24 hours,
which is scientificallyvalidated, where an academic
psychologist has gone through mymethod and is verified on 96%
client-rated success rate.
I've spoken with people from allwalks of life.
I've spoken with young people intheir 20s.
I've spoken with 70-year-olds.
(02:05):
I've spoken with wealthy people, people worth hundreds of
millions of dollars.
I've spoken with medicaldoctors.
If you think this problemdiscriminates and you're
different, it doesn'tdiscriminate.
You are not alone, and you'd besurprised.
See, so many times I will get ona call with somebody who wants
to stop drinking.
And you know what they say?
They say, people that are aroundme would never know I've got a
(02:27):
problem.
My life is pretty okay.
I've got a career, you know, mywife's upset, but I've got a
family, I've got a home, andfrom the outside looking in,
other people would never evenknow I have a problem.
And isn't it weird that we canoften go through life and look
at these normal drinkers andenvy them in some sort of way,
but we don't know the fullpicture.
We don't know what's going on.
I've worked with people whonever drink in public, but at
(02:49):
home they're pounding a half abottle of vodka and they're
doing it every single night.
But when they're outside thehouse, nobody would even know
they have a problem.
This problem doesn'tdiscriminate.
It can affect anybody in allwalks of life.
It doesn't matter about yourgender, your race, your
religion, none of it matters.
And if you think that you cancombat billions of dollars of
advertising spend throughoutyour entire life, literally
(03:11):
before you even starteddrinking, this has been
happening.
Plus, combat the failed methodsthat are labeling you and you
know you're having to fight thisurge for the rest of your life,
and then combat all the peoplein your life that drink and
they're saying alcohol is a goodthing and just have one.
If you think that you're justgonna stop drinking alcohol and
none of this stuff is gonnaaffect you, I'm sorry, but it's
not how it works.
(03:31):
But I wanted to let you knowthat it can work.
Every single person who hasmanaged to stop drinking
alcohol, change their paradigm, build a new worldview, and
permanently stop did somethingcrucial.
What they did is they tried justone more time.
They didn't throw in the towel, they didn't say, you know what,
I think I'm just doomed to havethis problem for the rest of my
life.
(03:51):
No, they didn't do that.
Despite failed attempts in thepast, despite it being difficult
in the past, they just tried onemore time.
That's all it is.
And trust me, I've spoken withpeople who I had to persuade
them to give it one more go.
They said to me, Nothing'sworked.
How is this gonna be different?
And I said, Well, what have yougot to lose?
Just give it a shot.
And then three months later, I'mgetting a text.
(04:12):
In fact, I got one the other dayfrom a guy that stopped drinking
in July.
And he said, I'm 40 pounds down.
And he was so on the fence aboutgiving it a go.
But he just said to himself, screw it, one more go, one more
real attempt.
And he's living the best qualityof life he's probably lived in
decades.
All because he made a decisionto try again.
So if you are struggling, justknow you're not alone.
(04:33):
It's okay, but don't give up.
Don't throw in the towel, don'tbecome a statistic.
It's never too late to change.
It doesn't matter how old youare, it doesn't matter how long
you've drank for, every singleperson who stops drinking
alcohol will benefit from doingso.
