SPEAKER_00 (00:23):
Hey there.
Today I'm going to share withyou a parable about constancy.
I think you might find itinsightful.
It's called The Old Tree and theClouds.
In the foothills of theHimalayas stood an old mighty
tree.

(00:44):
It had sheltered manygenerations of animals and was a
witness to the passing of time.
Every day the tree watched theclouds pass by in the sky.
Some were small and fleeting, while others were large and
enormous, and they wereconstantly changing shape.

(01:08):
One day the tree said to thepassing clouds, You are so free
and changeable.
You can travel wherever the windtakes you, and you can transform
yourselves into any shape.
How beautiful it must be to beso free and changeable.
Unlike you, I am bound to thisone place and cannot change my

(01:31):
form.
The clouds heard the words ofthe tree and answered You see
our freedom and changeabilityand envy us, but we see your
constancy and envy you.
You are firmly rooted andstrong.

(01:52):
You survive the strongest stormswhile we are blown to and fro by
the wind.
You give life and shelter as wepass by, leaving nothing behind.
Every existence has its ownmerits and challenges.

(02:12):
The tree heard the words of theclouds and recognized their
wisdom.
It realized that its constancyand strength were as valuable as
the freedom and changeability ofthe clouds.
From then on, it no longercomplained about its existence,

(02:35):
but appreciated its own role andimportance in life.
And so the tree lived its lifein peace and acceptance,
recognizing the beauty of itsown existence and understanding
that every form of being, whether fixed and permanent or

(02:57):
free and changing, has its ownvalue and purpose.
The ancient tree in the cloudsteach us the important lesson of
permanence and recognition ofour own unique existence.

(03:19):
It's a beautiful little story,isn't it?
Consistency is change.
Life is full of changes, butlike the tree, we can show
strength and consistency in themidst of those changes.
Through consistency, we cananchor ourselves in difficult
times and provide a safe havenfor others.

(03:42):
The clouds help the treerecognize its own value.
Each of us has a uniquecontribution to make to life and
the world.
We can be aware of our strengthsand value them.
The tree and the clouds are verydifferent, but each has its own
unique role and importance.

(04:05):
This story truly teaches us toaccept and respect differences
rather than judge or comparethem.
I'm Lisa Hopkins.
Stay safe and healthy, everyone.
And remember to live in themoment.
