Storie Mondiali è una mini-serie di cinque episodi prodotta da SBS, a cura di Dario Castaldo e Andrea Pagani. In queste cinque puntate, vi faremo rivivere cinque partite di cinque diverse edizioni del campionato del Mondo di calcio, che hanno contribuito a scrivere la Storia, e non solo quella calcistica. Cinque decenni, a cominciare dagli anni 70, nei quali, occasionalmente, la Storia si è fermata su un prato verde, e che scopriremo insieme a voi. Dal goal di Sparwasser in DDR-Germania Ovest del 1974, fino all’assurdo omicidio del “Caballero de la cancha” Andrés Escobar, passeremo al rigore fallito dal ghanese Gyan nel 2010 ma anche al primo vero “biscotto” mondiale, datato 1982. Senza dimenticare, ovviamente, la vittoria degli Azzurri “operai” in un Mondiale zeppo di campionissimi come quello del 2006. Cinque episodi per ricordarci che, spesso, lo sport è soltanto un mezzo per raccontare vicende epiche, politiche, curiose e drammatiche, che hanno segnato la storia degli ultimi 50 anni.
