About the Playwright

Allison Page is a writer & comedian in Nashville, Tennessee. She was a semifinalist for the 2025 Clubbed Thumb Biennial Commission for There Have Been a Series of Miracles at Shrieking Ridge, and was a proud 2024 Tennessee Playwrights Studio Fellow with her play Roberta at the Bottom of the Pool. Her most recently published play, The Pyramid, is available from YouthPLAYS, and she has also been published by Penguin Australia and EXIT Press. were bringing you the witty and wonderfully weird piece
the Balcony by playwright Allison Page.
Allison is a writer and comedian living in Nashville,
Tennessee, by way of San Francisco and Thief River Falls,
Minnesota. Her work has been produced across

the country with titles like the Jersey Devil Play and
Vampire Christmas. Not only is Alison
a talented playwright, but shes also a screenwriter and has
written hundreds of comedy sketches.

O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore
art thou Romeo?

>> Romeo (01:13):
Oh, sorry. Sorry, sorry. No, yeah, sorry, sorry.
Actually, it's Romeo.

>> Juliet (01:18):
Pardon?

>> Romeo (01:19):
It's not Romeo, it's Romeo.

>> Juliet (01:22):
Okay. Deny
thy father and refuse thy name.

>> Romeo (01:27):
Um, I mean, I doth. I doth refuse it the
way you're saying it. Because it's Romeo.

>> Juliet (01:33):
I ha. Feel like you are not listening to the bigger
message here. Can I finish

>> Romeo (01:39):
Proceed

>> Juliet (01:41):
Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn
my love and I'll no longer be a
Capulet.

>> Romeo (01:48):
Isn't it Capulet?

>> Juliet (01:50):
No. Mmm.

>> Romeo (01:52):
I think the t doth be silent.

>> Juliet (01:55):
It dothn't Mmm.

>> Romeo (01:57):
Um. I think it doth.

>> Juliet (01:59):
Dothn't

>> Romeo (02:02):
Doth.

>> Juliet (02:03):
I think I would know. It is my
name. Tis but
thy name that is my enemy. Thou art thyself,
though not a Monte Gui.

>> Romeo (02:14):
Now that one you got right.
Damn, it feels good to be Romeo. Monte
Goey.
