SPEAKER_02 (01:15):
That sums it up.
They don't like us and we don'tlike them.
I am Sean Clinch, the host ofStories Inside the Man Cave
Podcast, and the co-host of ThePast Russ with Stevie Lee.
The Aggies and Longhorn Rivalryis part of my inner foundation,

(01:36):
if you will.
Pretty sure I came out of thewomb.
Looking forward to this rivalryevery year, every Thanksgiving,
every Thanksgiving evening.
The state, living rooms,friendships, relationships,
marriages divided.
One day out of the year.
We're going to get into thisbecause this will be the first

(01:56):
time in 15 years that theLonghorns and Aggies will meet
in Austin, Texas.
I can go on and on about thestories of this, the midnight
yell practice for the Aggies onthe steps of the Capitol,
whenever they play here inAustin.
A lot of people disagree.
I say this is a bigger rivalrythan Texas OU, especially in the

(02:19):
great state of Texas.
Before we get going, because wegot a lot, and I know Mike Adams
and Stevie Lee will have plentyto say about this great game.
I cannot wait for them to chimein, deliver their feedback
because they both played againstthe Aggies.
If you need any help, any helpgetting ready for that Texas and

(02:44):
Texas AM game for any beveragesor anything of that sort, you
need to see my guy Dave Ramirezat Northwest Hills Lake.

(03:17):
Episode 496, the past rush withStevie Lee, the Aggies and
Longhorn.
Let's run it on the Stevie Lee.

SPEAKER_08 (04:13):
No, I don't feel like suiting up at all.
Too old for this.
But but I'm looking forward toit, man.
It's gonna be a lot of fun.
Can't wait.

SPEAKER_02 (04:22):
So Stevie Lee and both Mike, he and Mike Adams are
both uh in remote locations.
Stevie Lee, the traditional roadtrip to the mom and pop lee's
home in Shreveport, Louisiana.
What give me a brief descriptionnow?
What are the smells?
It is is it prepping forThanksgiving food yet?

SPEAKER_08 (04:43):
No, they'll start doing a little bit of prep
tomorrow.
Uh, but today or yesterday wehad crab boil.
Um, and then today we oh we wentout today.
But when I first got here on uhFriday night, me and my wife
went over to Orlando's, which isa staple here.

(05:04):
Fried catfish, fried shrimp,stuffed shrimp.
Yeah, man, and some red beansand rice and all that stuff.
It's around the corner from myparents' house on the lake.
It's great.

SPEAKER_02 (05:14):
Man, yeah, I'm starving.
Thanks for that.
I appreciate it.
Um, yeah, uh, we're gonna haveto make room.
We gotta start practicing, conditioning uh our stomach,
bowels, whatnot.
It's uh but a lot to be thankfulfor, and we're really thankful
for the logos you see all overthis screen.
And Stevie Lee uh articulatesthat the best because we are a

(05:38):
big fan of the Hardgrove familyand Hardgrove Roofing.

SPEAKER_08 (05:41):
Yeah, I'm trying to catch up with Billy Hardgrove
here while I'm here in uh thenext week.
So Harbrove Roofing, know who'son your roof.

SPEAKER_02 (05:49):
100%.
And be sure to follow us on eachof our social media platforms.
And our guy, our third member ofour team, he's in Louisville,
Kentucky, visiting his sons withhis better half.
And I it's he's always remote,and it's always we flip a coin
sometimes to figure out where heis.

(06:10):
Let's find out exactly where heis.
Yes, sir.
What's going on, fellas?

(06:30):
Yeah, welcome, man.
This is uh it's funny.
It does, it kind of fit soundslike uh holiday time at a
shopping mall behind you.

SPEAKER_11 (06:40):
Sure is the great Oxmore Mall here in Louisville,
Kentucky, one of the uh higherend malls here, you know,
Louisville kind of kind ofhigher end parts of Louisville.
Nah, man, having a good time uphere.
Uh the the boys felt like theyneeded to do some shopping after
that heartbreaking loss here onin Dallas on Saturday.
Took a drumming down here in thehomecoming, but a lot to be

(07:04):
thankful for.

SPEAKER_02 (07:05):
Good.
Lots to be thankful for your twoboys, your lovely wife, great,
beautiful family.
Um, I got a little surprise foryou, bro.
Um for both of you, absolutely.
Um, maybe this will trigger somethings, if you will.

SPEAKER_11 (07:53):
Man, I'm an AM pro.
Man, I love that song.
I used to hey, that that fire meup.
I'll sit here.
I'm ready to suit up right now.
I'm here for it.

SPEAKER_02 (08:07):
I love it.
I remember some interviews withyou back in your in your prime,
man.
It was uh you lived for thisgame.
You you lived for it.

SPEAKER_11 (08:16):
It's just an awesome game, man.
I and to be honest, I didn'treally know what it meant until
my freshman year.
I was my I was a freshman andplayed and really was just happy
to be on the field.
I'm kind of like, okay, gettingsome playing time, going against
Aaron Glenn and Coriad and allthose guys, right?
And AM was top five, and we noway we had a chance to beat him.

(08:41):
But the horns got cut out thatweek of practice, and then they
beat us.
You know, Pete Gardier, theyintercepted him on the five-yard
line.
It was a close game, but itshouldn't have been close, but
that's just speaks to therivalry.
Aaron Glenn returns at 95 yardswhen the game was over, they
danced on Bivo in the middle ofthe field.
That's when he hit me, and Isaid, Okay.

(09:03):
This I said, okay.
I knew from right then I didn'tlike those dudes.
I didn't like EM.
I didn't like what they stoodfor.
That's when I learned that theAM Texas robbery, it became
personal with me as a longhorn.
And it's been that way eversince.

SPEAKER_02 (09:19):
Man, it's that's I think that really drives home
everything.
And Stevie, um, we're gonna getback to you, but I'll I'll point
this out for you.
Stevie was never lost to AM.

SPEAKER_08 (09:31):
Never ever.
Never ever.
And uh, I took a red shirtfreshman year for uh uh medical
injury and still never lost.
So our five years straight, I'mum undefeated against AM.
But I do feel it though.
Um you don't want to lose tothem.
It's uh in-state rival, and youwill hear about it the rest of

(09:53):
the year.
Yes, it's um it's a really bigsignificant game.
I'm so glad it is back.
I'm so glad so glad that it'sback, and I'm I'm so glad to be.
Um I told my parents that I'mleaving.
We're leaving on Friday morningto get back so we can make it
back for that game.
And I usually stay here throughthe weekend and just watch it on

(10:16):
TV.
But we're going back to sittingin my seats in that game with my
girls just for this Aggie game.

SPEAKER_02 (10:23):
It's it's it's unlike any other.
I mean, I know Texas OU is veryunique, yeah, but let's work our
way into it.
We Texas did get the win overArkansas.
I thought there were a lot ofgreat things, and you know, uh
Starks opening up his playbookkind of took a page out of the
Philadelphia Eagles playbook.

SPEAKER_03 (10:44):
Here goes the trick play, and it's right into the
hands of Archman.
It was Parker Livingston withthe touchdown pass to his good
buddy.

SPEAKER_09 (10:56):
That play's been in it for a while now, so we're
excited to call it.
We had to call it in thetimeout.
I'll say we gotta call it again,we gotta keep it up.

SPEAKER_06 (11:05):
So uh it was kind of sunny, I lost it for a second.

SPEAKER_09 (11:12):
Yeah, um, it wasn't the best play for a little bit.
Yeah, I know he had a good hethrew it well on Thursday, but
uh yeah, I had a he he's bailedme out a few times, so I had to
bail him out there.

SPEAKER_02 (11:22):
All right, so just like that, Arch Manning became
the first Longhorn quarterbackever to pass for a touchdown,
run for a touchdown, and receivea touchdown in one game.
Um we'll circle back around toStevie.
Did what did you like coming outof this game?

SPEAKER_08 (11:44):
Um it was um it was good offensively, really good,
but um we let Arkansas put toomany points on the board.
So we gotta clean that up.
Uh we got Taft back, and uh Ithought that it was gonna be a
little bit more solid.
Um we really feel like we missedheel um because you know the

(12:07):
defense wasn't gelling as muchas I thought that they would,
but letting what was it, 37points?

SPEAKER_02 (12:13):
52-37.

SPEAKER_08 (12:14):
Yeah, letting letting um Arkansas put up 37
points, that's not good.
Uh a two and what they only wontwo teams uh games, so it was a
two and nine six uh game orteam.

SPEAKER_02 (12:27):
Yeah, but they they they have put up a lot of points
all year.
Their offensive line is huge, and they had lost six of their
eight games by combined 17.

SPEAKER_08 (12:36):
I hear you, Sean.
Sounds like you're making anexcuse, man.

SPEAKER_02 (12:39):
Don't hey AM put up 42 on I mean they AM put up 45.
Arkansas scored 42 on them.

SPEAKER_08 (12:48):
Oh, okay.
Well, still, even still, 37points wasn't was too much for
me.
Offense did very well.
We got a defensive score uh alsoin that, but uh 37 points too
much.

SPEAKER_02 (13:03):
MA.
What do you what do you fromthis past Saturday?
What do you leave with?
What's your feel?
You feel any better?

SPEAKER_11 (13:10):
I mean, I mean, I agree with Stevie.
I mean, we did give up a lot ofpoints, but I think our defense,
man, especially on the back end,we're we're uh you know,
slightly young, slightlyinexperienced, um, got some guys
injured, returning back.
Uh Arkansas's explosive, man.
I mean, they they've lost someclose games, like you mentioned.
I mean, I think what six orseven of the ball games they've
lost by a touchdown or less.

(13:31):
Uh, they played AM very tight.
I mean, a lot of those gamesthat they lost, they were within
one score.
And they were, you know, thequarterback, man, he's a talent.
Uh it was it was a good win forus.
You know, maybe a little sloppy, give up a lot of points.
Yeah, um, definitely somethingwe need to correct before we um
invite Marcel Reed and hisexplosive offense into town.

(13:53):
But um definitely a lot of teethtape for sure to go over this
week before we uh get ready forthe Aggies.
But all in all, I mean, I mean,Arch accomplished something that
no other quarterback has everaccomplished, or player for that
matter.
Wait, Carl, 3-1, you know, ranone in, I guess.
Uh, you know, that that's apretty tall feat considering the

(14:13):
illustrious history of you knowfootball here in Texas, man, and
all the explosive players comethrough.
So um he had a good game, man.
I think he's continuing to trendin a positive direction.
Uh, I think everything justcomes to a you know a
culmination here Friday.
You know, can can we bring itall together against one of the
best teams in the country in AM?

SPEAKER_02 (14:34):
Yeah, that's it's gonna be fun.
And um to kind of circle back toboth of them, uh Stevie and Mike
have a lot of memories playingAM.
Um that Adams had a phenomenalgame in '96 against AM in
Austin, which clenched their uhthe Big 12 South and went on and

(14:55):
beat Nebraska.
But in 92, you alluded to it.
AM uh was undefeated going inthat game as well.
Here's a catch from uh MikeAdams in that '92 game.
I just want everybody to seethis.

SPEAKER_12 (15:27):
Push off.

SPEAKER_11 (15:28):
Man, that was hey, that's that's terrible
announcing by that.
Was that Ron Franklin?
Or my goodness.
The late Ron Franklin.
That's my guy, too, man.
Ray rest in peace.
I know it's not he's a prettygood dude, but that was not a
push off.
I saw the ball that was underthrow and it came back to it,
and D D was out of position,man.
Learned that as a youngfreshman, man.

(15:48):
Hey, that's terrible, Ron.
Come on, Ron.
Let's be for the home team.
Right, you know, we wereactually making a comeback at
that time.
And and like I mentioned, man,we we I think maybe two or three
plays later, uh you know, AaronGlenn, all American intercepts

(16:09):
the ball.
I think he undercut a slantroute to Derek Duke.
He should have been throwing itto me, but he's the one to throw
it to the other guy.
You take it back to the house.
We might have won that game, butnah.
Just man, the the robberyitself, playing those guys, man,
in state.
I mean, you want those braggingrights, and yeah, that that that
catch brought back memories forsure.

SPEAKER_02 (16:31):
So uh Stevie, you guys played in two different
eras, and you guys, Stevie, youguys just pretty much dominated
him every time you played, andand when Mike came in, they were
building back up.
So here's something I look backsince 1980.
The reason why I started at1984, that's when Jackie
Sherrill, he came in.

(16:52):
Um came down and brought histeam to Austin.
They were not going to a bowl, but they annihilated Texas.
Annihilated Texas in here inAustin, and he did the same in
84, 85, 86, 87.
He got close in 88, kind ofclose in 89.
Uh, but Texas lost to AM sixstraight years during that span.

(17:18):
And he just here's just a coupleof shots, including the Aaron
Glenn INT.
Um, I remember that was at anight in which a cold front came
in.
Then in 90, Austin went crazybecause the six-game losing skip
finally ended.
And that's the first, I thinkthat's the first one.
No, it's the second one you'llsee right here.

(18:27):
I was happy then Texas wouldlose four more straight to AM
after that.
But Mike was a part of thechange in ninety-five and
ninety-six.
Um, but you fast forward to now, guys.
Um is this a stretch to even saythis?
Aggies have everything to lose,Stevie?

(18:48):
On Friday.

SPEAKER_08 (18:50):
Everything to lose?
Um They're not gonna lose everyif when we beat them.
They don't lose everything.
They'll still make the uhplayoffs, right?

SPEAKER_02 (19:01):
Do you do you make the playoffs?
SEC championship more thanlikely.
I I need to go through thescenarios because if you're not
gonna be.

SPEAKER_08 (19:08):
I don't think they make the SEC championship, but
they it's not everything tolose.
Uh, but I would love to spoiltheir SEC championship game um
appearance.
Um well they may there are theythey're the only team still
undefeated in SEC, correct?
They yeah, yeah, you're right.
Yeah, so they don't haveanything to lose, I guess.

(19:31):
Because if we beat them, theycan still make it to the SEC
Championship.

SPEAKER_02 (19:35):
Well, there'll be a large scenario with one lost
teens, because you knoweverybody doesn't play everybody
because you got Georgia.
Um, and I think it's it's itcould be a uh a scenario where
you go, all right, so-and-sowent head to head, one Mike.
I mean, have you are you have abetter understanding of the

(19:56):
scenarios leading up to this?

SPEAKER_11 (19:58):
So I I think AM, if they lose, because Georgia has
one loss, and I believe Ole Misshas one loss.

SPEAKER_04 (20:06):
Yes.

SPEAKER_11 (20:07):
So so I think if they lose, they may they may
lose out on the tiebreaker, andI don't think they make the SEC
championship game.
But even if they do, yeah, Ithink they have everything to
lose.
Because if they lose to us,that's gonna jack them up in the
seating in the CFP playoffranking.
Um, they stand a good chance tolose that first round game.

(20:28):
I don't even care who it'sagainst.
I think just from a mentalstandpoint, they cannot afford
to lose that game.
Because that's two years in arow you've lost to Texas since.
You know, Texas has joined theSEC.
Uh I I I still think until theybeat us Friday, I think AM is
the same team we saw a year agotoday almost, which they were

(20:48):
dominated in college station.
So they're really going to showme, they're gonna show the
country that they are indeedworthy of being 10-0, 11-0 right
now, and can take care of theLonghorns on Friday, which AM is
favored in the game.

SPEAKER_02 (21:02):
About two and a half, I think.

SPEAKER_11 (21:05):
Yeah, so I mean, as far as I'm concerned, and and
we're talking about a youngTexas team, right?
That you know, on paper, AMshould handle.
I I just don't see it.
I really don't.
And I I'll be I'll be the firstone to give them the roses if
they go into DKR and win thatgame.
But they're gonna have to showme.

SPEAKER_02 (21:24):
Yeah, it's so here here's basically what it is.
Georgia, they're done with theSEC schedule.
They're seven and one.
They can wait.
They're playing Georgia Tech.
Uh Ole Miss is in the egg ball.
That anything can happen in thatgame against Mississippi State.
Alabama Auburn, but Alabama hasone loss.

(21:44):
So it it it's really a lot ofthings can happen, but I I'm
gonna side with MA on this.
AM loses.
There's a chance they do notthey lose their spot in the SEC
Championship game.
Um because looking at theirschedule right now, and they

(22:06):
didn't they don't have anyhead-to-head other than Texas.
Well, Texas won't be a factor,right?
They don't they didn't play anyof the other one lost teams.

SPEAKER_11 (22:18):
I I I think they have they have one of the
stronger records or excuse me,like schedules at one point, but
they haven't played anybodyother than than Notre Dame
that's really I actually I thinkthe string the record is pretty
pretty good, but if they losethis game, now they've lost to
an opponent that's you know lessa rank than the other teams who
have made loss to opponents.

(22:39):
That that hurts AM.
I mean, I mean they have a goodchance to really drop you know
below seven, below eight.
It just depends on how theylose.
Because Texas right now, theyaren't really being viewed very
strong in terms of uh right, right, right, just in terms of
where they're ranked right nowand the teams they lost to.

SPEAKER_02 (23:00):
So, but either way, I think we all can agree, man.
Mike Elko has done a phenomenaljob and still in that toughness
turning it around.
And he this was him uhaddressing the team and and
talking about hey, you're inpretty much in new territory for
the program.

SPEAKER_06 (23:19):
Okay, you're doing things and kicking down doors
that this program hasn't done,right?
You're a special group, allright.
Now it's go time, right?
Now it's go time, right?
This is what we all signed upfor to get to this point of the
year with trophies on the lineto be in position to go get
whatever the f you want to get.

SPEAKER_02 (23:36):
Man, he's it that's where they get this from.
So what do you do?
What do you do against thisteam?
I mean, clearly, you know, Iwant to show you guys a graphic
soon, shortly, but as far asgame planning, defensively, um,
you know, Michael Taft was askedabout because they've got some

(23:59):
home run hitters at receiver.
Um and this is Taft, you know,Taft just classy, and he
acknowledges everyone in theroom, so to speak, uh, that
they're gonna be facing on thatAM offense.

SPEAKER_01 (24:12):
Uh it's gonna be a really good challenge for us.
We just play, you know,Barnesall wins some of those
close games.
We just played a Heismancandidate, we just played a
Heisman candidate in Georgia, and now we're going to play um
one of the top three Heismancandidates.
So um love the challenge for thefor the defense.

SPEAKER_02 (24:30):
Stevie, what do you what are you hearing from?
I mean, his again, you can'treally tell much from what they
say in the media, but uh you howdo you cover that?
I mean, would you say the samething?

SPEAKER_08 (24:45):
Oh I don't know, man.
Um they do have two greatreceivers that uh that can catch
the ball all over the field.
And our and and our defense hasbeen struggling as of late in
the backfield or in the umsecondary.
So uh I think uh it alwaysstarts with the D-line for me,

(25:07):
man.
Let's get some people into uh inthe backfield, in the
quarterback's face, and uh andrush um uh uh uh mess up his
timing is what I'm trying tosay.
Uh I don't know, man.
It's it's um it's a tall taskright now.
Uh they just look really goodand and and clicking on offense,
but South Carolina in that firsthalf made them look vulnerable.

SPEAKER_02 (25:30):
That's it.

SPEAKER_08 (25:30):
Yeah, and so and but we can um we and we can build on
that part.
But when they go in the lockerroom, make adjustments and um
and have their motivating coachElko talking the way he talks, I
think um, you know, it's it's adangerous game.
I still think we win uh if we'reasking predictions.

SPEAKER_04 (25:49):
Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_08 (25:50):
Yeah, but um it is a tall task um because they can
throw the ball and pull it downand run.

SPEAKER_02 (25:57):
Now, this is a stat that uh Stevie being the
defensive guy, AM's defense hasthe most sacks in the country.
Most.
And you know how I mean we'veseen before game nine of this
year, we we saw how porous andsuspect the Texas O-line is.

(26:17):
Um guys, this is the stat thatreally stands out to me.
I on third down conversion ondefense, number one in the
country, teams are onlysuccessful on third down
collectively 22% of the time.
That's that's what stands out tome.
And to your point and to Mike, which will love this, you know,

(26:40):
I don't think KC Conception isgetting enough love.
I mean, uh what do you thinkabout his game, MA?

SPEAKER_11 (26:48):
Yeah, man.
Every game I've seen him in,very explosive, big time
playmaker.
Honestly, he had AM hasn't had aplaymaker like him since Mike
Evans.
And even before that, I can'tthink of another AM playmaker
from the wide receiver positionthat they could take the ball to
the house every single time.
Nah, nah, he definitely goesdown as one of the better guys

(27:08):
they've had wearing the maroonand white.
I think uh, you know, youmentioned third downs and their
defense, and just thinking aboutyou know how we should take
advantage of that.
Uh, you know, offensive line.
I mean, I I think Shark, and I'mjust obviously I hadn't talked
to him, but I think he's gonnause their aggressiveness against
him.
I think we have to.
I mean, because those guys aregonna pin their ears back and

(27:30):
definitely try to get out to thequarterback.
Um, expect a lot of misdirectionfrom us, I hope.
Some play action.
Uh, but just playing fast, man,we got to find a way to get
those guys, you know, you know, off the T-box, so to speak, so
they can't just tee off on arcsand take advantage of our
offensive line that that's stillgrowing, not as you know, not
where they should be right now.

(27:52):
But we gotta be aggressive, Ithink, in our play calling and
just attacking those guys.
Because if we just line up andjust try to, you know, three
yards and cloud of dust, I'm notsure that's gonna be successful
against these dudes.

SPEAKER_02 (28:04):
No, that's a good that's a good point.
Um so let's say Texas wins.
Okay.
What what and a lot of othermatchups, we really don't know
what's gonna happen.
What will the CFP look like nextweek?
Because then then you've got thethe conference championship
games the following week.

(28:27):
And that's what reallydetermines our Stevie.
I don't know, or Mike, do youremember just do do those
conference championship gamesaffect the CFP?
Because I remember one time theysaid their criteria was they're
pretty much deadlocked.
Unless it's a team that has towin the conference championship
game.

SPEAKER_11 (28:47):
Right.
And I think that's the only timeit might really matter.
You know, if it could affect ateam, let's say Texas was in
position to be in the CFP withtwo losses or so, and they go to
CFP and clearly might need towin that game in order to get in
the playoff.
Because if they would lose thatgame, that would give them three
losses now, and they might be onthe outside looking in.

(29:07):
I I think other than thatscenario, um I think they do
matter from a seeding standpointif you already are a lock in the
playoffs.
Yeah, you know, but if you're onthe outside looking in, it
definitely depends on yoursituation.
And as far as we go, no, Texas.
Even if we beat AM, and I thinkit depends on how we beat them,

(29:28):
how much we beat them by, andwho else loses this week and
next week, it's a long shot forus to get in.
I mean, I mean, we're similar towhere South Carolina was last
year.
I mean, they were saying thatyou know South Carolina was like
the hottest three loss team inthe country.
Yeah, and they actually ended upon a what two or three game win
streak, beat the Ryan, but butthey didn't get in the playoffs.

(29:50):
So, so I I think where we'resitting at right now, it might
be hard for us.
I mean, we would have toliterally go from 17 all the way
into possibly the nine spot.
And I just don't know how thatwould happen.
A lot of teams would have tolose.

SPEAKER_02 (30:05):
Stevie, you feel what's your if your your
personal level of percentage ofa chance you're given Texas to
get into the CFP?

SPEAKER_08 (30:17):
Why you asked me that, man?
It's a very small percentage.

SPEAKER_02 (30:22):
I'll say 10%.

SPEAKER_08 (30:26):
Yeah, I was gonna go under that.
But uh but correct me if I'mwrong, guys.
Um, does the conference champsnot get an automatic buy?

SPEAKER_11 (30:37):
No.
Oh the top four ranked teams, just the top automatic by yes,
the top four rank teams.

SPEAKER_08 (30:43):
It doesn't matter if you're a conference champ or
not.

SPEAKER_02 (30:45):
It used to be they changed that this year.
Okay, that's why Boise State gota bye last year when they
shouldn't have.

SPEAKER_11 (30:53):
So if you so if you win your conference
championship, I mean that'll getyou an at-large bid, but they
may not get you uh a bye in thefirst round, yeah.
Gotcha, yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (31:04):
Because just think if it was last year's rules,
North Texas may be getting a CFPbye if they win their conference
championship, right?

SPEAKER_11 (31:12):
Right, right.
And they they wanted to kind ofdo away with that possibility of
a lesser ranked team getting abye over a team that's top rank.

SPEAKER_02 (31:23):
I like it.
Top four teams in the CFP.
Um, man, I gotta bring upsomething uh from MA's years.
You know, there's hard hitsevery game, but in rivalries,
they're harder.
But Stevie, you may be able torefresh something from your
days, but this one sticks in mymind 1995 at college station.

(31:47):
Bryant Westbrook.
That that defensive backfield tome was one of the best assembled
in Texas history.
Check out this, Steve.
You probably we've all seen it,but I this is the one I went to
that game with a then collegegirlfriend, drove in at college
station.
He had to get that in there, Ihad to get that in there.

SPEAKER_11 (32:15):
Oh lord, I still my dog Westbrook.
Hey, the hit heard around theworld.
No, what around the world thatone against Notre Dame the next
year was even better, equally asgood of a hit.

(32:35):
And honestly, man, that AM gamethat year in '95, that's when we
knew that we were back in their31-game home win streak.
They had the longest win streakin the nation.
Okay.
Um, that was the last time thewrecking crews were wrecking
crew.
And I talked to Ray Mixonsometime later after that, man.
He told me, he was like, Man, wewe knew y'all were for real that

(32:59):
game.
Because the other the prioryears, you know, we just sensed
some fear in some players, andit just wasn't we knew we would
beat y'all in '95.
We kind of had some doubt.
And we went out there and provedit and showed it, man.
And that was telling coming fromhim because he came to school
the same year I did.
He was part of two or three ofthose wrecking crew teams, a
team that went no undefeatedin '94, but they were on

(33:20):
probation.
And on that '92 team, I mean, man, he played on some great AM
teams, but we took their heart, man, in '95.
We we brought them down a notch.
96.
We actually took the heart.
A M wasn't AM for a long timeafter those two years.

SPEAKER_02 (33:37):
Stevie, do you remember a bigger hit in games
against Oklahoma?
I mean, Oklahoma, Texas AM.

SPEAKER_08 (33:42):
I don't remember a bigger hit, but I remember um
Philip Geiger, story sign of ManCave uh alum.

SPEAKER_02 (33:49):
VIP alumni.

SPEAKER_08 (33:51):
VIP alumni uh hit a hit a uh tight end coming over
the middle just like that anddislodged the ball from him.
Yeah, yeah.
Uh the man went that way, theball went that way.
And if Philip wasn't there, hewould have caught it.
So that's um, yeah.
We we there's a few hits likethat in this game.
It's a rivalry game, guys.

(34:11):
It's gonna be bodies flying allaround the place.

SPEAKER_02 (34:14):
Big hard hitting it.
It's not for it's not for ifyou're the the timid or the
weak, so to speak.
Um, hey, I found somethinghilarious over the last four or
five seasons.
The Texas AM police departmentreleases their arrests and their
crimes.
Uh, I want y'all to check thisout.
This is from their last gameagainst Samford.

(34:37):
Um, this is hilarious.
If you there's a few that'llprobably stand out, they do this
every weekend, but um this guy,a public intoxication charge,
the intoxicated subject foundstaring at a wall, and he was
released to sober girlfriend, ejected from the game.

(35:03):
And then and then this onedumbass brought he brought his
own alcohol in the game.
We've all been there.
Yep.
We have we have.
Hey, fourth level concourse, friends helping a intoxicated
girl.
Thought she was in section 132,released a sober friend.

SPEAKER_08 (35:27):
Ejected.

SPEAKER_02 (35:31):
Oh man, good old Aggie humor, man.
They that that's hilarious.
They do that every every week.

SPEAKER_11 (35:38):
Every week, man.
I'm getting cool, guys.
I'm gonna have to sign off.
Sorry to cut my time short.
My wife, my better half, as yousay, is getting getting upset
with me.

SPEAKER_02 (35:50):
So hey, you gotta do the what the better half says,
and you give the fam hello andplaymaker 83.

SPEAKER_11 (35:56):
We'll do it is robbery week.
The the cars do play UK thisweek, so um, we got to end the
year on a good note.
I'm going cards on Saturday by10.
Longhorns.
Don't don't don't shoot themessenger.
Longhorns by 10.
10 is yeah, we're not inMarshall.

(36:18):
Marcel Marcel Reeds not winningthe highs one on us.
I'm telling you that right now.
That's not gonna happen.
So that that's that's gonna end,and then we'll still make the
playoffs, but they're not gonnawin a conference championship
this year, not on our dime, noton our watch.
And uh, if they don't play thegame strong, they might end up
getting upset in that firstround.
So let's get it, horns.

(36:40):
Let's get it this week.

SPEAKER_02 (36:41):
Let's do it, Mike Adams and Mary bringing the
heat.
He's cooking again, guys.

unknown (36:46):
He's cooking.

SPEAKER_11 (36:47):
Man, you guys have a great Thanksgiving.
Uh happy Thanksgiving to theLonghorn Nation out there, and
uh man, enjoy it.
A lot to be thankful for.
Appreciate you, brothers.

SPEAKER_08 (36:56):
Absolutely, man.
Have a good time.
Have a good time out there, man.
Be safe.

SPEAKER_11 (37:01):
Stevie Lee, tell the family hello, man.
We talk to y'all later.
Love you, brothers.

SPEAKER_02 (37:05):
Love you, man.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Yes, sir.
All right, Stevie Lee, can youthink of a man cave story from
your times playing Texas AM?
It could have been the ride overthere, that overnight, the go

(37:28):
walking up to Kyle or a DKR, andor maybe in the locker room or
on the pregame or during the onthe field or afterwards.
Anything man cave story worthy?

SPEAKER_08 (37:40):
Yeah, man.
Um so my first year at uh Texas, and we were about to go and play
this um this game.
After we filled so when I wasplaying, there were two weeks.
There was always two weeks, itwas always a bye week, and then
we play AM.
It was always well after thegame on um before the AM game,

(38:05):
for two weeks straight, MacBrown piped in the Aggie Fight
song for two weeks on a loop inour locker room.

SPEAKER_02 (38:15):
You mean you mean this one?

SPEAKER_08 (38:27):
That one.
Um, I know what you're gettingat, but no, not that one.
It was the actual fight song.
The goodbye to Texas Unit.
That's the war hymn.
I thought that was the war hymn.
Okay, yeah.
So, yes, he would pipe in thatsong for two straight weeks on a

(38:50):
loop.
There was no gap in between, itwould finish and go right back
into it.

SPEAKER_02 (38:54):
Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_08 (38:55):
And so we we learned that song just by hearing it.
You go in the locker room, youhurry up and change and get out
of there so you don't have tohear it again.
But it was in our locker room onthe PA system 24-7 for two
weeks.
Two weeks, and by the time youget ready for the game and you
hear that that that that thatsong go off in the stadium, you

(39:19):
are you fighting mad, you fightmad.
So um, I don't know if they aredoing anything like that, but
coach brown had a way of umgetting us psychologically
ready.

SPEAKER_02 (39:32):
Yeah, yeah, no, man.
I love that.
Coach Coach Brown had some uhsolid ways of uh prepping you
guys because he was verysuccessful in that game.
Uh, just in case you guys werenot aware, I have I had put out
on Twitter or on uh Instagram uhpeople to send their photos that
they took of during thisrivalry.

(39:54):
We got some good ones, got somegood ones here.
A Red River, excuse me, theRivalry still photos.
Got one of our followers here onthe far right, a band member uh
of the show band of thesouthwest.
We appreciate you getting a goodselfie out there on the field.
That was at Kylefield, and thisis Gray Moore, who took these

(40:17):
photos of uh Arch and our theformer tight end man.
What those are great pictures,by the way.
Yeah, God bless the rivalry.
Still photos.
We're still taking them, we'llpost them, we'll make a collage,
send them to at Stories Man Caveor on the um, I think I had an

(40:37):
IG story, but I'll put it up onTwitter as well.
Or you can just send them toStevie, I'll give you his cell
phone number.
Oh man, I I can't wait.
I can't wait till Friday.
But you know what may be evenbetter?
Um TCU beat Houston.
I think it was her seventh winof the year, and uh Coach Sonny

(41:01):
dikes, he has a lot of fun.
Man, they were they pulled outan old Bon Jovi classic and
karaoke on the flight back toDallas.

SPEAKER_08 (41:37):
Hey man, he's he's uh playing into the stereotypes.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (41:46):
Hey, that's something.
Hey, fifty-two-year-old whitemen, bald men don't have a lot
of rhythm either.
Hey, he was he put that thing upto his mouth.
He was yeah, coach, man.

SPEAKER_08 (42:01):
He was feeling it, man.
That's fun, man.
If you can uh have a good timelike that with your players, you
got something special going.

SPEAKER_02 (42:07):
You do, you really do.
I'll tell you what was special, and this could be a lesson to
all young football players andeveryone in life.
Don't ever give up.
Get your ass knocked down, getright back up, and do something,
something positive, man.

SPEAKER_05 (42:21):
It's all these years a time to get look at the
hustle.
Just great hustle, and then amassive turn over there.
Great team in the burdy.

SPEAKER_02 (42:42):
Steven, he put his hat on the ball.
On the ball.
He was knocked down four times.

SPEAKER_08 (42:47):
Yep.

SPEAKER_02 (42:48):
That's how you play it.

SPEAKER_08 (42:50):
You play balls to the wall from whistle to
whistle.
And what my coach would say, theecho of the whistle.

SPEAKER_02 (42:59):
I never heard that.

SPEAKER_08 (43:00):
Way through the echo.

SPEAKER_02 (43:03):
Man, that's impressive.
I never thought I never thoughtabout that.

SPEAKER_08 (43:06):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (43:09):
Cowboys is the big win.
Hey, score 24 unanswered points.
One 24-21.
That was a big win for theCowboys.

SPEAKER_08 (43:18):
Yeah, it was.
It was a good comeback.
That builds um uh confidence toofor the Cowboys.
To beat Saquon Barkley andPhilly, um, and they're at home,
but to beat them on a comeback, that's a confidence boost.

SPEAKER_02 (43:34):
And they were down in a big hole.

SPEAKER_08 (43:36):
Yeah, they were in a big hole.

SPEAKER_02 (43:39):
Big ass hole.
Yeah.
Hey, man, on this rivalry week,we're gonna take a quick break.
And when we come back, we'llthere's not many Austin teams
alive in the high schoolplayoffs.
It we started with 42.
We're down to 15.

SPEAKER_08 (43:57):
Oh, wow.

SPEAKER_02 (43:58):
15.
Hey, we're gonna see Stevie someuh award-winning acting right
here as we represent Hard GroveRoofing.

SPEAKER_10 (44:07):
We'll see you on the other side.
Here at Hargrove Roofing, uh, wetry to think outside the box to
kind of get the creative juicesflowing.
So I brought in my friend StevieLee, former defensive tackle for
the Texas Longhorns.
Um, he's gonna help the teamstrategize, really motivate them
by the fire.

SPEAKER_07 (44:22):
This guy's gonna block down, this guy's gonna
block down.
You put your butt into thatguard, and that way my mic
linebacker gets free to do what?

SPEAKER_10 (44:32):
Not only are they gonna learn a thing or two, but
they're gonna also leave with agreat attitude and a bunch of
smiles on their faces.

SPEAKER_05 (44:39):
I'm sorry, what does this have to do with roofing?
Exactly.
Get out right now.

SPEAKER_07 (44:46):
I said get out.

SPEAKER_10 (44:50):
For me, that's what it's all about.
It's just having fun, making ouremployees have a great time.
Hard growth roofing.
Know who's on your roof.

SPEAKER_02 (45:00):
Austin, Texas is changing every day.
But one constant is DirtyMartin's Place on Glock.
Dirty's recently celebrated 98years young, and the future is
stock.
And this space in the back isopen to host any event, personal
or business related.

SPEAKER_02 (45:31):

SPEAKER_03 (45:53):

SPEAKER_02 (45:56):

The Weiss Wolves.
You and I got to see them on thefinal game of the regular
season.
They handed the Anderson Trojanstheir only regular season loss.
Stevie, they absolutelyannihilated Lufkin.
Lufkin Lufkin's Texas.

SPEAKER_08 (46:11):
Lufkin is always a hard out, man, but they went in
there and tore them up.

SPEAKER_02 (46:16):
Hey, they Lufkin was uh they were done as soon as
they walked the field.
And those Shad brothers, thequarterback receiver, and
they've got three or four otheramazing guys.
Uh, Pastor Moore's son is ajunior.
He can go anywhere in America.
Um tall, rangy, long receiver, and strong.

(46:38):
And strong.
Moore, number nine, right?
Yep.
Yeah, he's I think he may be abetter college player than his
daddy was.

SPEAKER_08 (46:48):
Oh, tell his daddy that.

SPEAKER_02 (46:50):
But Eric, Eric was a he was a pretty good athlete
from DeSoto.

SPEAKER_08 (46:55):
Um uh no.
No, from uh Dallas Carter.

SPEAKER_02 (47:01):
Oh, he played for the whoo!

SPEAKER_08 (47:03):
Yeah, he played a Dallas Carter for um one of our
running backs coach.
What was his name at the atTexas?

SPEAKER_02 (47:09):
Bruce Chambers.

SPEAKER_08 (47:10):
Bruce Chambers.

SPEAKER_02 (47:12):
He played I did not realize that.

SPEAKER_08 (47:14):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (47:15):
Wow.
Wow.
What small world.
I haven't seen Coach Chambers inforever.
Yeah, man.
Oh, so for all the all 15 teams, including a couple of taps, or
three taps private schools.
Here's all who's remaining.

(48:15):
Texas high school footballplayoffs, unlike any other in
the country.
Louisiana's right there.
Uh, I had to give that you youguys have a good little
tournament as well.
Um hey, TikTok in the man cave.
Uh, we've all been there, andwhen you get a certain movement
through your body and you can'tfind a place to let it go,

(48:39):
sometimes you're you're baking abun, and you're trying not to
have an accident.
This may be, we can all relateto this.
I'm serious about this.

(49:07):
Yep.

SPEAKER_07 (49:13):
Hey Ben, tell me something good.

SPEAKER_02 (49:20):
Stevie Lee, ideal for the week that this is, um
Thanksgiving week.
And and I I like how thisholiday has really evolved
because it's um it's just beinggrateful.
Grateful for a lot of things.
So the man of positivity, uhStevie Lee, tell me something
good, my brother.

SPEAKER_08 (49:41):
Something good, man, is we are in Thanksgiving week.
And um, you know, my girls askedme the other day, Daddy, what do
you want for Christmas?
And I said, Man, I'm good.
This year has been I reflectedon this year.
It's been really, really fun, really good, ups and downs, but

(50:05):
yes, still good.
This year, I I graduated myoldest daughter from col from
high school, then sent her offto college this year.
My uh youngest one is uh turning16.
Uh, I am officially an old man, man.
But I am so thankful for it.
I got friends that didn't see 44years old, you know.

(50:26):
I got uh um uh people that thatjust aren't as healthy as I am
at 44 years old, you know.
So I'm really, really justthankful, man.
That's something good for me,man.
I'm just gonna go personaltoday.
So that's just good for me.
I'm I'm I'm in a good place.
I got a great relationship withmy wife, yeah.
Great relationship with my uh myuh my mom and dad.

(50:49):

So I um I'm I'm thankful forthis platform just to hang out
with my belt, my buddies, andand really talk about uh what we

(51:12):
actually loved, uh our hobbiesthat we we love in um uh which
is Texas football.
So we're just big fans rightnow.
Uh I yes, I did play there, butI'm just a fan now.
I have no input.
I can't strap anything on to goout there and play.
I can't I can't um I can't strapany helmets or for or shoulder

(51:34):
pads on, I should say.
To go out there and play.
I have I have zero input.
So what that makes me is just afan, and I'm thankful for it,
man.
I'm thankful that I get to comeon here and just talk about it.
So this thankful season is justthat's something good.

SPEAKER_02 (51:48):

Was very well done, my friend.
I'm thankful for you and myrelationship with you and summer
and and ma.

you at home.
I'm speaking to you.
You um I am overly grateful forthose who have helped me grow

(52:09):
this.
This is a hobby.
It was once a somewhat of aprofession, uh, part of a
profession for two decades.
And and to see this thing growas it has, I'm just not, I just
don't have a lot of time becauseit's my priority, is my career.
Uh, but if you need physicaltherapy, you let me know.
Uh I know some people.

(52:30):
Um, but I'm overly grateful.
And as I reflect on this year, Iknow usually I usually do this
in December, but there's beensome challenges this year.
There's been some growth, there's been some things to
celebrate.
Um, I hit one of my low lowsthis year, and you you were
there for me um as I got throughit.

(52:50):
Um, but also this collegefootball community means so much
to me, and I have so much to begrateful for, including my
career and um the ability to uhbetter myself as I and and I've
had some goals.
I've met about 40-50 percent ofmy goals this year.
Um, it's hard to get half ofthem achieved, and to have such

(53:15):
a good community where I live offriends, and and I still have
some family members alive.
Love them all.
I love you, bro.
Um gotta say something, savesomething for last.
I am so grateful.
This program right here got thenumber seven overall seed in the

Long horn upset.
What do you think?
I I I I think I think it's gonnahappen.

SPEAKER_08 (54:58):
