Speaker 1 (00:26):

resonates in Austin.

Heisman finalist while playingfor Darryl K Royal, and Jimmy is
a UT football legacy fromWestlake.
He has been insuring Austin fordecades.
He and his staff will give youold school hospitality when
servicing your insurance needs.
(00:48):
Well, happy Thursday morning toyou.
(01:08):
And you know the drill Raisethem up, Raise your favorite mug
up, Allow the lifeblood of thedark coffee, black coffee,
whatever you put in it, it istime to roll today, and I am
Sean Clinch, the host of StoriesInside the man Cave, and I have
not recorded, done an episodeof Coffee with Clinch in quite
(01:32):
some time, Just realized it.
And, of course, I was inspiredbecause I have a message and
something hopefully to motivateyou as well.
But before we get going withepisode 456, be sure to follow
us on all of our social mediaplatforms, that being the
stories inside the man CavePodcast, Facebook, IGX, YouTube
(01:56):
and TikTok.
So one thing that I have doneperiodically over the years,
either through listening tomotivational speakers, coaches
who were in my life, to just andtake your first step when your
feet first hit the floor everymorning, Either through prayer,
(02:34):
positive thoughts you'respeaking to the universe,
whatnot positive goals that youset forth for the day to delete
negativity, because there's somuch of it in this world which
influences everybody, includingmyself.
But there is a quote that youknow, it's so simple, so
(02:56):
elementary, but it resonates andit's what happened to you, does
not define you.
We all have baggage, negativethings that has happened to us,
and it's how we handle that andrealize what that person over
there, over here, people onsocial media, whatnot, it
(03:19):
doesn't matter what they think,it really doesn't.
In the grand scheme of things,it is what we think of ourselves
and how we respond to thatadversity and that negativity.
And one thing that I've beendoing here the last month and a
half is this program called.
(03:41):
Is this program called and I'veI've partaken in other things
such as this that have reallymolded my mind with the
positivity it's this programcalled the successful man.
It's self-development,accountability and progression
and each day you start out withyour morning routine and you
hold yourself accountable.
(04:02):
Instant versus delayedgratification to goals each day.
Consistency is key.
It's all the cliches which arereally powerful to holding
yourself accountable.
There's the 30 day exercisechallenge that I've been putting
into action.
Putting into action and it's,you know, and it's from your
(04:28):
cardio to exercising your brain,to career goals, what you have
set for, so you will not beoverwhelmed as you try to
accomplish each of these goals.
And it's, you know, in the endof the end goal is to strengthen
our minds, to put you on thepathway to success,
self-accountability, and it alsohelps our relationships, to
(04:52):
self-esteem, to awareness of theworld around us and to realize
all this negativity, whether itbe political, something you're
experiencing personally.
It does not define you and itdoes not define how your day is
going to turn out or thetrajectory.
We can control so much of thatjust through routines and
(05:17):
realizing where our feet are,awareness.
And these are goals, these areexperiences that I've personally
experienced, that I'm relayingto you who's watching and
listening to this?
To incorporate some of thesepractices into your daily life,
(05:39):
especially beginning in themorning with that first cup of
coffee.
And it helps you realize youknow I'm wrong in this area.
I need to communicate better, set forth those goals and
morning affirmations, and thatis unbelievable.
Hey, you know what this week isin the sports world.
(06:01):
Yesterday was perhaps one of myfavorite, favorite events of
Masters Week in Augusta, Georgia, and this is year 11 for me in
which I have not did not win theMasters lottery online to claim
tickets, so many people have.
Every year I see a handful ofmy friends win the lottery to go
(06:25):
to Augusta, Georgia.
It's coming, Positivity, it'sgoing to happen.
Let's make it 2026 to make sureI go to Augusta.
But the par three contest, ifyou haven't seen it, it's the
Masters field and past Masterschampions and their family,
(06:47):
their kids, their nephews,nieces, whatnot?
Friends, caddies, on all thepar threes of Augusta, Georgia.
And what makes it always iswhat, how much joy there is with
those little kids.
Check out Rory McIlroy's youngdaughter, Poppy McIlroy.
(07:16):
She lightly tapped that ballbut apparently she can read
greens and it was like that puttin Caddyshack before Mayhem at
the end took over.
And then Bill Murray, withexplosions on the golf course.
Well, this ball traveled soslow and it was on line.
(07:38):
It hit the cup.
It hit the bottom of the cup.
But even better is JordanSpieth Hard to believe man.
His family is growing and hislittle son, Sammy.
Check out this swing, this hack.
And just FYI, not that itmatters if you allow someone
else to hit for you, you'redisqualified.
(07:59):
You can play but you are noteligible to win the par three
contest.
And one thing that Rory McIlroy.
He has won all the majorsexcept the Masters.
Maybe that's the reason why helet his little daughter hit,
except the Masters.
Maybe that's the reason why helet his little daughter hit
Because the winner of the partthree contest I may have my
(08:22):
information incorrect has neverwon the actual Masters.
But let's check out SammySpieth.
Jordan Spieth eliminatinghimself from competition with a
very first swing.
Let her rip Sammy Just like dadHell of a swing Jordan Spieth.
(08:49):
It'd be nice to see him getback on track to the way he was
in the not too distant past.
Jordan Spieth par three contest, first round of the Masters.
Today, and I'm sure just likeothers during March Madness, I
have a feeling people are takingPTO time today or scheduling
all their calls and theirbusiness calls for this morning
and probably after lunch.
(09:10):
A lot of people are watchingthe Masters.
Now March Madness is done.
It was fun.
It's amazing how March MadnessEvery year seems to end an
additional week into the monthof April.
(09:31):
You had Florida Gators from theSEC beat Houston 65-63.
We'll talk about that shortly.
But check out my guy, JohnFidler.
Big Drip is what a lot ofpeople call him.
Of the 44 entries in theStories Inside the man Cave
podcast March Madness BracketChallenge, it was Big Drip who
(09:53):
won the bracket challenge with155 points.
That's Fid right there in hisman cave, outside at his home
smoking the Victory Cigar.
Classic.
Pick Fiddler wins the rounds ofgolf at Butler Pitch and Putt
here in Austin, Texas, and fourtickets to the Round Rock
(10:15):
Express game at the Dale Diamond.
Shout out to the Round RockExpress and Express Prez Chris
Almendarez for donating hisseats for one game to John
Fiddler and a parking pass tothe Dale Diamond in Round Rock.
Big drip man CongratulationsWell deserved.
(10:36):
Now, if you're like me when youwere watching that national
championship game betweenHouston and Florida, the last 30
seconds we all know the lastminutes of all these games
usually seem to take the longest.
It's timeouts, especially ifthey're a close game.
Teams strategizing trying towin, but Houston, they were
(10:56):
winning most of the game but itcame down that they were down by
two, 65-63.
They needed to get a three forthe win.
In the last 11 seconds of thegame, Great defense by Florida
and the Cougars try to get ashot off.
But the Cougars held it.
They had to get rid of it or itwould have been turnover on
(11:21):
possession, because he can'tdribble it again and the
defensive stand right there byFlorida cost Houston to lose the
national championship 65-63.
And I believe that is theseventh Final Four appearance by
the University of Houston inprogram history.
They're the most accomplishedprogram, not to win the national
championship, but a schoolrecord, 35 wins under Kelvin
(11:47):
Sampson.
And they repeated as Big 12champions.
And Kelvin Sampson at age 70,he's getting close to retirement
but he looks like he's stillenergized and he's got two years
left on this lifetime contract,so to speak.
But they'll be back, theHouston Cougars, and of course,
(12:08):
kelvin Sampson has 799 careerwins.
You know that he's obviouslygoing to get it next season, but
a very emotional loss.
And Calvin Sampson does areally good job with the media.
And this was him talking aboutthe heartache and how people are
going to criticize him and thatteam for how they lost that
(12:30):
game and the play call and notgetting a shot off.
But in typical Calvin Sampsonform, it's about faith, family
and his love for the team.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
Your faith in your
family is way more important
than any of that stuff.
And protecting these kids.
You know I care more aboutprotecting them right now.
Make sure they know what agreat year they had, what an
awesome, awesome, awesome yearthey had.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
They did.
There's nothing negative, it'sjust Houston was so good and
they made it to the game.
The Monday night game.
Hey, quick break, raise themugs.
Coffee with Clinch.
We're going to talk about thoseLonghorn baseballers Number two
in the country and we are atmid-season.
(13:26):
This regular season is almostdone.
We'll see you on the other sideof this break.
The Bully is a cozy Austinoriginal bar and grill that
feels like home.
Boulevard Bar and Grill, nestled into this Northwest
Hills strip mall, recentlycelebrated two decades.
The drink prices are like goingback to 2004.
(13:48):
It's where familiar facesgather and everyone knows your
name.
The Bully family are alsofriends of the stories inside
the man Cave podcast.
Boulevard Bar and Grill on FarWest Boulevard in Northwest
Austin.
The, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the,
(14:28):
the, the, the man.
This Texas baseball team underfirst-year head coach Jim
Slosnago Unbelievable.
They're number two in thecountry right now.
They go unbelievable.
(14:49):
They're number two in thecountry right now.
They've got a big stretch ofSEC games coming up and Texas
shares the lead of the SEC rightnow.
Rylan Galvan from Sinton TexasI don't know what's up with
those boys from Sinton Texas andwhat they feed them.
What's in the water AdrianAlaniz, former Longhorn pitchers
, the head coach down in Sitton, state champion head coach.
(15:11):
But if you look at what Texasis doing 53 home runs on the
year, 219 runs batted in, rylanGalvan 10 long balls and Will
Gasparino 11hate-to-see-you-go-byes and you
go down that lineup, they canall hit in many ways A lot of
(15:32):
fun.
The Dish has had great crowdseven for midweek games.
But listen to this.
This is what's the big statthat really has impressed me.
The earned run average by theTexas pitching staff is number
two in the country, just liketheir national ranking right now
3.04, a marked improvement fromlast year.
(15:55):
And also, texas put a sweepingon the then number one team in
the country.
Well, georgia, they were numberthree, but they were the number
one team in the country in homeruns with 87.
That Texas pitching staff lastweekend kept the UGA bats in
(16:19):
check.
Put that in perspective.
They'll be at Kentucky thisweekend.
All right, I want you topromise me one thing Go out and
make today a great dayPositivity.
(16:41):
Let's go.
Hey, thank you for watchingCoffee with Clinch.
