The Sault Museum just recently gained possession of a small trunk of books. And yes we do get a lot of boxes and books in our possession at the museum, but this one is pretty special.
Learn about these books, their story and the original owner Joseph Wilson.
In 1959, Queen Elizabeth II & Prince Philip toured Canada and some of the United States, partly for the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway. This led them to stop in the Sault, which helped to recognize us as an important port in this seaway.
Let's dive in and look at her busy and exciting trip to our city!

He used that money to start Jer's Vision, which has evolved into the International Day of Pink. He is bringing help and education all across the country.

Join me today as we look at the incredible life of Bob Goderre, affectionatly known as Mother Goderre. Bob was a vibrant spokesperson for the queer community in the Sault and along with their partner Jean-Guy LeBlanc they hosted parties and gave the community a safe place to gather.
Their story is also told in the 1999 documentary "I Know a Place" directed by Roy Mitchell.
