Nikola Tesla, born in 1856, was a visionary inventor whose genius transformed the world. From his groundbreaking advancements in alternating current (AC) electricity to over 300 patents, Tesla’s work laid the foundation for modern electrical systems. His rivalry with Thomas Edison, known as the “War of the Currents,” highlighted Tesla’s AC as the superior method for transmitting electricity over long distances, outshining Edison’s direct current (DC). Despite his brilliance, Tesla was not a savvy businessman. He died penniless and alone in a New York hotel in 1943, overshadowed by his peers but celebrated posthumously as one of history’s greatest inventors.
