Josie Maran: Founder Of Josie Maran Beauty + Clean Beauty Pioneer

The Unassuming Powerhouse. Josie Maran is a beauty barrier breaker. In 2007 she was a pioneer of the clean beauty movement when she decided to launch her line of chic-ological skincare and cosmetics. The longtime model (a Guess? girl, a video vixen, cover star, to name a few)who started in the business at age 12 found herself in many top makeup artists’ chairs, as you would imagine, and would use that time to ask questions. A born and bred seeker, Josie grew up in Northern California with a deeply creative mother and a father who was an entrepreneur. Josie always felt she was destined for big things. After a fateful party in the south of France, she went on a mission to find argan oil and build her own beauty brand. When she got a call from the Head Of Oncology at Cedars Sinai and was told that two of his patients dealing with radiation dermatitis were using her Argan Oil and he’d never seen such healing, well, she had made it. Today, Josie Maran Cosmetics, based in argan oil that essentially mimics skin’s own properties, is booming, and a luxury, clean, go-to brand at stores like Sephora and on QVC.
