Straight Words radio returned for "Part 2 Black frats, hazing & deaths in 2025? The loss of Caleb Wilson" April 22 and further explored Caleb's death at Southern University, where the young band member, musician and engineering student died as a result of injuries sustained unsanctioned pledging Omega Psi Phi.

Three members are charged with crimes and have been suspended from Omega Psi Phi as the investigation goes forward. Meanwhile at Miami University in Ohio, the school's chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi was suspended for 15 years, avoiding a lifetime suspension but facing harsh sanctions for engaging in hazing and beating new recruits at a school where the chapter was suspended for hazing a couple years ago. Alumni were engaged in the activity and the same people were involved in previous hazing problems.

Author and lecturer Shahid M. Allah joined us to offer insight into this subject. He is a lecturer, member of Omega Psi Phi and author of "Thy Kingdom Come," which takes a deep look into Black fraternities, symbolism and deep wisdom that needs to be taught for change.

Hosts Naba'a Richard Muhammad, a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, and James G. Muhammad, a member of Omega Psi Phi, joined the discussion about fraternal principles, pledging experiences, why it's time to end hazing, growing into greater knowledge and understanding of higher understanding as well as the brotherhood of the NOI's Fruit of Islam, where there is no hazing.

“Straight Words With Naba’a Richard Muhammad, Bj Murphy and James G. Muhammad” on WVON AM 1690 Black Talk Radio does live broadcast Tuesdays, 9pm to Midnight Central on WVON AM 1690 Black Talk Radio Chicago, which is livestreamed at WVON.com and the I Heart Radio app,
